However, some other titles deserved more entries, and fans are still waiting for a sequel after Titanfall 2. After suffering an ambush, the player must connect with their new mech in the middle of a war. But the only way to save the world is to use this mech to destroy a new super weapon.
Titanfall 3 may never happen, and while that is sad, fans can find solace in the fact that it won’t get any better than Titanfall 2. Renowned as having one of the greatest single-player campaigns, each new mission has a definitive hook that spices up the gameplay. With a tight pace that is paired with phenomenal gunplay and parkour, it creates a flawless explosion of action, drama, and excitement.

‘BioShock’ (2007)
There is no formula for success in the FPS genre, with some of the most popular games being creative revolutions in the industry, such as BioShock. After barely surviving a plane crash, the protagonist, Jack, finds safety in a lighthouse. Descending into it, he discovers a failed utopia known as the Rapture, where political mayhem and genetic experimentation have rendered it an art-deco hell-hole of creatures and villains.
BioShock isn’t known for its shooting gameplay, even though it is fun, but rather the narrative prestige that critiques Randian objectivism, which champions self-interest. The world, themes, narrative, and dialogue all challenge this way of thinking, not to mention the atmosphere, vibe, and environmental storytelling create some of the best worldbuilding in video games. Still, BioShock is an FPS game, and one of the most fascinating ones at that.

‘Perfect Dark’ (2000)
After initially announcing a remake of Perfect Dark, it was revealed that the project was canceled, meaning the original remains one of the best first-person shooters. When an investigative operative is sent to steal some company secrets, they uncover a grand conspiracy that involves aliens and a plan to assassinate the President of the United States.
Some of the best FPS games are surprisingly on the N64, and that includes Perfect Dark, which was a fantastic and underrated shooting experience. The main story was a fun time, but the multiplayer mode was even better, using its revolutionary secondary firing modes and advanced AI to create one of the most stimulating first-person shooters ever.

‘GoldenEye 007’ (1997)
James Bond is the greatest fictional spy, and all of his movies can prove this. However, one of his best entries might not have been on the silver screen, but rather on a home console. GoldenEye 007 is a 1990s video game based on the film where players must stop a rogue syndicate from using their new super weapon to destroy the financial records in London.
This game is an essential multiplayer experience that defined the 1990s with its remarkable level design, fun co-op system, and split-screen death match. Half-Life 2 pioneered the genre by blending the gameplay and narrative into one, having the combat overlap with the story so neither interrupts the flow of the other. The Gravity Gun was one of the most entertaining mechanics in gaming, making everything a puzzle and earning Half-Life 2 the title of masterpiece. It is a cinematically immersive and groundbreaking title that is more than just an FPS.

This list features some of the best first-person shooters, but it wouldn’t be complete without the most important and influential one: Doom. After a teleportation experiment on Mars goes wrong, a space marine known as Doomguy is the only hope for the planet after swarms of demons from Hell begin invading the planet.
Doom is the most influential FPS of all time, and that is because its pseudo-3D visuals made the graphics look even more realistic. Not only that, but the fast-paced combat and style made everything more intense, giving gameplay an extra invigorating punch. All future first-person shooters were thanks to Doom, and that alone makes it one of the best video games of the 20th century.

One of the best FPS franchises is Call of Duty, and while a lot of the games are similar, one that stands out is Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Players control either a British SAS squad or the US Marines after they are sent out to accomplish a dangerous mission where they need to stop a Middle Eastern dictator from starting a global nuclear war.
The Call of Duty franchise has some of the best FPS games and some of the worst, but Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is hands down their magnum opus. It defined a generation of grounded and authentic shooters through its realistic and well-designed maps. The snappy gunplay is downright addictive, and the tightly paced campaign is immaculately designed, proving Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is a staple FPS of the generation.

‘Halo 3’ (2007)
2007 must have been the best year for FPS games because it featured BioShock, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, and the number one game on this list, Halo 3, which is arguably the best of the Halo franchise. Rounding out the original trilogy, it follows Master Chief in the fight against the Covenant, which seems to never end. However, he hopes that this will be the final battle that will decide their endless feud.
Each of the first three Halo games could be sitting at this spot since they are all some of the best and most influential FPS titles, but Halo 3 barely takes the honor. But fans should view it more as a representation of the entire franchise, with Halo 3 simply being the figurehead. It perfects the mechanics and gameplay established in previous titles and polishes the experience to create a definitive shooting experience. Rockstar Games has officially announced Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look, giving fans their biggest preview of the highly anticipated open world crime epic ahead of its November launch.
The showcase will premiere on Thursday, August 27 at 3:00 p.m. ET exclusively on Netflix, before becoming available later that evening on Rockstar’s official YouTube channel and GTA VI website. It’s the first time Rockstar has partnered with Netflix for a major game reveal, making the presentation one of the company’s most unique marketing moves to date.
While Rockstar hasn’t revealed exactly how long the presentation will be, the company says the event will offer an “extended look” at Grand Theft Auto VI, fueling speculation that fans will finally get an in-depth gameplay demonstration rather than another cinematic trailer.

Jax Taylor is coming out swinging after ex Brittany Cartwright spilled details on their relationship during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen.
“The amount of blatant lies in this interview is unbelievable,” Jax, 47, commented on an Instagram post shared by WWHL from Brittany’s interview on the Wednesday, August 5, episode of the Bravo talk show.
In the interview, Brittany, 37, alleged that her estranged husband recently missed parenting time with their son, Cruz, 5, because he was in Canada with the couple’s former publicist Lori Krebs, who Jax is now dating.
“I have NEVER missed my scheduled parenting time with Cruz. It’s public record that I have him every Wednesday and on weekends, and I was back in LA yesterday (Tuesday),” Jax wrote.
Brittany Cartwright isn’t mincing words when it comes to reflecting on ex-husband Jax Taylor’s romance with her former publicist Lori Krebs. “I’m shaking,” Cartwright, 37, told People in a video interview published on Wednesday, August 5. “I mean, this person was not only my publicist, she was like a sister to me for 10 years. On Wednesday’s WWHL, Brittany shared how she found out that her ex is dating their former publicist. (Brittany filed for divorce from the Vanderpump Rules alum in August 2024.)
“[Lori] sent me a text message, morning of [the release of photos of her and Jax vacationing in Mexico], two hours before the TMZ photos came out and let me know that things had changed and that she knows I will feel betrayed,” Brittany said. “[Lori said] she loves me and [Brittany and Jax’s son, Cruz] and she’s never told Jax anything. Come on.”

“I’m shaking,” Brittany said in an interview with People published on Wednesday. “I mean, this person was not only my publicist, she was like a sister to me for 10 years. It’s just complete, complete betrayal.”
However, a source told Us on Wednesday, “Lori understands why Brittany feels betrayed. But the narrative that they were still ‘like family’ when this all happened isn’t accurate. Brittany and Lori haven’t been close in a very long time. Their relationship had changed significantly. They saw each other only a couple of times in the past year, never spoke outside of work, and Lori’s role had been reduced primarily to coordinating media interviews. She had already been trying to transition away from representing Brittany because she increasingly felt caught in the middle of an extremely difficult situation.”
“Throughout Jax’s addiction and recovery, Lori supported both of them in different ways. The Valley crew is reuniting and ready to talk about the good, bad and downright wild parts of their lives during and in the wake of a drama-filled season 3.
On Wednesday, August 5, Bravo kicked off a three-part reunion special where Andy Cohen brought cast members Danny Booko, Nia Sanchez, Kristen Doute, Luke Broderick, Janet Caperna, Jason Caperna, Brittany Cartwright, Jasmine Goode, Jesse Lally, Michelle Saniei, Zack Wickham, Lala Kent and Tom Schwartz together again.
Right off the bat, Andy explored a variety of topics with the cast, including Brittany’s ongoing relationship with estranged husband Jax Taylor.
“I think he is sober,” she claimed, “but that doesn’t change someone’s personality.”

After Michelle was spotted holding hands with legendary rapper Dr. Dre in Malibu earlier this year, Andy tried to get the realtor to dish on the details of her private romance.
“I don’t really want to get into it,” she said before denying ex-husband Jesse’s claim that she signed an NDA. “I’m just protecting what we have right now. It’s new, and we’re getting to know each other. We met through a mutual friend. I’m just having fun and living my life”
When asked to share his reaction to the coupling, Jesse thought it was initially “funny.”
“Everyone thought it was AI at the beginning,” he said. “For me, we are now officially divorced. She is her own person. She can do whatever she wants.”

When Jax stepped away from The Valley ahead of season 3 to focus on his ongoing sobriety journey and mental health, much of the cast kept their distance from the former Vanderpump Rules star.
Jesse, however, tried to keep his friendship with Jax off camera — until things took a turn.
“We had a bit of a falling out after BravoCon. He came after me pretty aggressively by text message about an interview [my girlfriend] Lacy and I had done on a red carpet for an addiction charity,” Jesse claimed. “He reacted without watching the interview. It really bothered me, and I finally told him two days ago on the phone.”
Brittany made it clear that Jax is untrustworthy when she reminded the cast, “He’s said horrible things about every single person on this stage — even Tom.”

Nearly two years after filing for divorce from Jax, Brittany said she is still not officially split from her ex. As a result, her estranged husband’s name is still on the house.
“I pay for everything,” Brittany said of the pair’s finances, before claiming she is still paying off Jax’s $1.2 million tax debt. “I am paying his loan that he took out for his taxes against the house.”

During season 3 of The Valley, viewers met Brittany’s brief fling, who tried to help her recover following her mommy makeover. Although the pair broke up during filming, Brittany said Brandon reached out when his episodes aired.
When asked how much money she gave him during the relationship, Brittany was hesitant to give an exact number.
“I don’t even want to say. It’s so embarrassing,” she said. “It might have been less than $10[K], but it was less than $5[K]. It was in between.”
Brittany Cartwright Meeting With a ‘Narcissistic Abuse Coach’
Following her public breakups, Brittany revealed she is taking steps to try and avoid being lovebombed.
“There is not a doubt in my mind [that my picker is off],” she told the cast. “You guys would be proud of me. I’ve been talking to a narcissistic abuse coach. I feel like that’s really going to help me, but I see the best in everybody. What sucks is I don’t want to change that part of myself, but I have to set bigger boundaries.”
Zack expressed his feelings that Brittany may be over Jax, but she is not “over that situation and that trauma and that hurt.”

Now, ahead of its premiere, the actress and reality star is sharing her hopes for season 16 of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.” Her comments came roughly a day before cast member Amanda Frances announced her exit.
Bravo hosted the premiere event for “The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Roaring 20th” in New York City on August 4. While on the red carpet, Richards spoke to Us Weekly, with the reporter asking the 57-year-old what she was “hopeful for” regarding the upcoming “RHOBH” season. Notably, as of writing, none of the cast is confirmed to be returning.
She first joked, “My boss is right behind me; ask her.” Richards then discussed Dorit Kemsley, saying, “What would I be hopeful for? I would say, if I’m coming back, let’s just say that part first; I would repair things with Dorit. I would like to be able to put that behind us and start over.”
The “RHOBH” star went on to say that she’d like to “get things off [her] mind.”

The reporter continued the conversation with Richards by inquiring if there had been any “strides” in repairing their relationship during the “off season” from the show. She responded, “No.” After that, the mom of four stated that she had communicated with Kemsley on one occasion.
According to Richards, “I did reach out to her about her book to congratulate her, but other than that, no, I haven’t heard from her or anything.” She was then asked if this was “upsetting,” responding, “It’s sad to me because I did care about her and I do care about her and her family, and I just feel like we’re both going through so much and that we would have been much better off leaning on each other.”
Regarding Richards’ mention of the book, Kemsley released her memoir, “Unburdened,” on June 2, with it later becoming a New York Times Bestseller.
The ‘RHOBH’ Star Previously Shared That She Had Texted Dorit Kemsley
Richards hosted an Amazon Live session in late June 2026. During the stream, a fan asked the “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star if she’d been in touch with Kemsley following the release of her book.
She said, “I actually texted her. I didn’t speak with her, actually, but I texted her because even though we’re not speaking right now and we had such a hard time these last two seasons, I really want her to succeed and do well.”
Richards then mentioned the immediate success of “Unburdened,” saying, “I was happy to see that, you know, her book came out, and it was doing well, so I did send her a text.”
She went on to confirm that Kemsley responded to the text before saying, “You know, baby steps. Baby steps,” regarding a possible reconciliation.
‘The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills’ Cast Is Expected To Begin Filming Soon Following Amanda Frances’ Exit
Season 15 of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” concluded in May 2026. Now, several months later, the only confirmed news for season 16 is that Frances, who joined the show for the most recent installment, will not be returning.
She confirmed the news on August 5 with a lengthy social media statement. She said, in part, “My time on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is complete,” before calling her decision to do the show one of her “boldest,” wildest,” and “most clarifying” of her life.
Because of the confirmed exit, many believe Bravo may have its “RHOBH” cast in place despite the lack of an announcement. Notably, actress and “RHOBH” friend of Jennifer Tilly seemingly confirmed her return with her reply to Frances’ exit. She wrote, “Amanda, good luck on your journey going forward. I can’t wait to read your new book! You are so funny and sweet and smart. We will miss you.”
‘Ultimate Girls Trip’ Premieres On August 9
Richards will appear alongside Vicki Gunvalson, Luann de Lesseps, Porsha Williams, Teresa Giudice, Gizelle Bryant, and Lisa Barlow in Bravo’s “The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Roaring 20th.” The series, which was first announced at BravoCon 2025, celebrates 20 years of the franchise.
In additon to the seven main cast members, the upcoming limited series will feature stops at most of the “Housewives” cities and include appearances from close to 100 current and former stars of the various shows.
