10 Most Rewatchable Action Movies of All Time
Honestly, there aren’t many good action movies that aren’t also somewhat rewatchable, or at least it’s hard to think of examples. Maybe something particularly brutal or heavy-going might not be the easiest thing to revisit, but honestly, good action movies basically always make for good entertainment, and good entertainment is worth going back to, time and again, for hopefully obvious reasons.
There’s also a fair amount of subjectivity when it comes to declaring a set of movies as more rewatchable than other movies within the same genre, so that makes the following a little difficult to do. These are very rewatchable action movies, and indeed, some of them are also among the very best action movies ever made (and a few do cross over into other genres beyond “just” action, if that’s worth mentioning as a disclaimer of sorts).

‘Die Hard’ (1988)
Die Hard makes the act of making an action movie look easy. There are so many choices here that feel like no-brainers, as in, like, of course the villain should be charismatic, and of course the hero should feel like an underdog, and of course a confined setting keeps things tense, and of course you should build to the most impressive action moments (and have them happen near the end), and of course you should keep all the side characters engaging and distinguished from one another.
Yet not all action movies get all these things right, which is plain to see, as more than 99% of action movies are inferior to Die Hard (including all the sequels to Die Hard, though that third one is fun, and the fourth has its moments to a greater extent than some people like to make out). Die Hard (1988) is just everything an action/thriller film should be, and even if you can get so much out of it from just one viewing, it is, nonetheless, greatly rewarding to watch again and again.

‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’ (2023)
This is one of those movies that might well demand repeat viewings, since there’s an almost overwhelming amount of stuff going on in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. It is admittedly more than just a straightforward action movie, since it’s got a good many science fiction elements, and if you want to count “animation” as a genre (which is a little iffy, but you do you), then yes, it’s a work of animation.
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse introduced the idea of the multiverse, as it relates to Spider-Man, and was already pretty maximalist, but then Across the Spider-Verse blows it up even more, and explores it all further. There are so many things going on in the background, non-stop jokes and references, and also a plot that never really stops barreling forward, so there’s more than enough here that might well only be noticeable on a second (or third, or fourth, etc.) viewing.

‘Terminator 2: Judgment Day’ (1991)
Possibly James Cameron’s finest achievement so far, as a director (if you don’t consider Titanic his best, at least) is Terminator 2: Judgment Day. Now, the first Terminator still delivers some good action with its time-travel story, but it’s not quite as grand as Terminator 2, and there is a bit more of a focus on horror over action. The sequel, on the other hand, has its tense (and occasionally scary) moments, yet there’s more of a budget here, and everything’s a good deal more explosive.
The premise is sort of the same in both movies, since villainous forces from the future want to stop John Connor from one day leading the human resistance against the machine uprising, and then the resistance sends back someone (or something) for protection. Terminator 2: Judgment Day is paced so well and proves remarkably entertaining, both when things are getting blown up/destroyed/shot at, and when there’s more of a focus on the surprisingly engaging characters, too.

‘Everything Everywhere All at Once’ (2022)
Everything Everywhere All at Once deals with the multiverse, a bit like the aforementioned Spider-Verse films, but there is a different approach taken here, not to mention a more adventurous mix of genres tackled within this single movie. It begins as a family dramedy of sorts, and then the main character is thrown into a massive conflict regarding the fate of the multiverse, and the viewer is supposed to feel just as overwhelmed and confused.
There’s so much chaos throughout, but you do get a handle on it at a point, or find certain things in Everything Everywhere All at Once starting to click, to some extent. If you watch it more than once, things’ll probably click sooner, and then there’s the capacity for further clicking to take place; for things that might not have clicked before to do so. Or watching it again will be another dizzying and overwhelming experience. In that instance, at least it’s all chaotic, dizzying, and overwhelming in a surprisingly enjoyable way.

‘Raiders of the Lost Ark’ (1981)
That Steven Spielberg guy seems like a pretty capable director, you know? Knows what he’s doing, in other words, to put it mildly. To drop the biggest understatement of all time. Sorry, dropping the bit. It’s a silly bit. Spielberg is Spielberg. Spielberg does not deliver perfection 100% of the time, but he’s directed more perfect movies than the vast majority of filmmakers out there (be they currently active or iconic directors who worked in the past).
So, yes, Raiders of the Lost Ark is an absolute classic. It’s Spielberg’s purest action movie, and maybe his most entertaining, even if it has some competition with other films when it comes to crowning what Spielberg’s best blockbuster is (he did, after all, direct Jaws and Jurassic Park). There’s a simple adventure story here, with the hunt for a MacGuffin and all, but the craft found in Raiders of the Lost Ark is undeniably good, and makes the whole movie a very easy one to revisit time and again.

‘The Raid 2’ (2014)
The Raid already felt about as good as modern-day martial arts movies could be, and then along came The Raid 2, which arguably exceeded the original in terms of quality. The first was more direct, and perhaps better-paced, admittedly, but The Raid 2 was even more ambitious, had more action, and, perhaps most importantly, also made sure to have a much greater variety of action than the first movie.
You can see The Raid as a proof-of-concept for what would then become The Raid 2. There’s a bit of a convoluted story about going undercover to take down people involved with organized crime, and it’s serviceable enough, but mostly works because it gives the film an excuse to have a large number – and wide variety – of action scenes. The action sequences here are all incredibly rewatchable, so the fact that there are so many such scenes makes the movie as a whole easy to revisit, if you’re a big action/martial arts movie fan.

‘The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King’ (2003)
Okay, this is the last movie that’s not first and foremost an action film, but The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King still feels like it belongs here. There is a ton of action in this movie, with more of a focus on battles than was seen in the other two (still quite action-packed) films, and even with it primarily being a fantasy movie, and so much time spent on the Hobbits and their journey, it’s still big on action.
If you’re rewatching The Return of the King, it’s probably because you’ve also recently rewatched The Fellowship of the Ring and The Two Towers… so, you know, maybe they should be here too.
It’s also a little strange to single out one film in this trilogy, since they’re all needed to tell the overall story that is The Lord of the Rings, but The Return of the King is the one with the most action. If you’re rewatching The Return of the King, it’s probably because you’ve also recently rewatched The Fellowship of the Ring and The Two Towers… so, you know, maybe they should be here too. Oh well. Consider them honorably mentioned.

‘Mission: Impossible – Fallout’ (2018)
The Mission: Impossible series is technically a spy-related one, though there was a definite shift toward bombastic action as early as the original movie’s first sequel, and it’s never really looked back since then. Things might’ve gotten a bit too grand by the time of the eighth(!) movie, in 2025, but the build was fun and rewarding for a good many years there, with the series reaching its peak, in this department, with the sixth overall movie, Mission: Impossible – Fallout.
This one just has everything you could want out of a spy/thriller/action/adventure movie, with a plot that is more or less about saving the world, just done in a way that works, and supported with some of the best action ever seen in a movie made on this kind of scale. It all just keeps going and going, building and building, perfectly going right up to the line of too much, and thankfully never quite crossing it. The balance here is undeniably perfect, and it’s honestly hard to come up with even nitpicky ways in which Mission: Impossible – Fallout might be flawed.

‘Kill Bill: Vol. 1’ (2003)
With Kill Bill, it’s Vol. 1 that feels the most like an action movie. Vol. 2 has a couple of memorable moments of action, and it does still feel like a martial arts movie at times, thanks to the extended flashback showing the protagonist’s training, but most of her fighting done throughout the saga is kept in Vol. 1, which is the bloodier and more exciting part of her overall quest for vengeance.
You don’t really need to rewatch the first Kill Bill to understand the basics or anything, but it’s more just the film being so much fun – and such a blast – that makes it rewatchable. There are also things that can be appreciated if you watch it for a second or third time, knowing the full story, which is worth acknowledging (again, there are flashbacks in Vol. 2 that take place before the events seen in Vol. 1).

‘Seven Samurai’ (1954)
Sure, the idea of revisiting something that’s over three hours long sounds potentially daunting, but it’s more than worth doing when the movie is as great as Seven Samurai. There’s an argument to be made that it invented the modern-day action film, perfectly telling a very compelling story about the people of a village hiring a group of warriors to defend themselves against an incoming bandit attack.
That attack is what the climax of Seven Samurai focuses on, and, yes, it does have to be acknowledged that before the final act, there isn’t a ton of action, yet Seven Samurai remains very engaging as a drama. And it’s the dramatic elements that get you to care about – and feel more invested in – the action that the film presents in its final hour or so. Everything’s perfectly paced and in its right place, with Akira Kurosawa making the act of directing such a huge and ambitious movie look remarkably effortless.

Amanda Seyfried has opened up about the special relationship she shares with her pets, calling her longtime dog, Finn, her “soulmate.”
In a previous remark about Finn, the “Mean Girls” actress explained that he changed her life in a major way, making her realize that a part of her needed him and the joy he brought.
Seyfried also recently reflected on the backlash she faced over a controversial comment about Charlie Kirk, admitting that she feared for her safety and ended up with a bodyguard.
Amanda Seyfried has doubled down on how deeply connected she feels to her pet dog, Finn.
In an interview with British GQ that has been making the rounds online, the “Mamma Mia!” actress revealed that her beloved Australian Shepherd is undeniably her “soulmate” and opened up about her love for animals.
“I think I have about 50 animals at this point,” she began, adding that she recently lost an old horse but was not sad because the animal lived a “good, grateful life.”
“My soulmate is my dog, Finn,” she continued. “He’s 16½ years old. He was my first dog. I fell so hard in love with life when I met him.”
Seyfried went on to say that aside from Finn, her “favorite animal” is her horse, Herman, whom she noted used to be “an NYPD officer.”
She added that they have a “connection” and that she cannot imagine “not being able to have access to all kinds of animals.”
Social Media Weighs In On Seyfried’s ‘Soulmate’ Comment
Several social media users extended grace to “The Dropout” actress and shared encouraging words following the loss of her pet. Others took to the comment section to gush about her years-long relationship with Finn.
A Reddit user said, “Her relationship with Finn is iconic. Their photos are always so cute. I feel the same way about my dog. My partner and family basically accepts my true soulmate is my dog. We get each other.”
“I’m so glad Finn is still around. I think he’s the celeb pet I’d legit be sad about passing lol,” another user wrote.
Others were puzzled that Seyfried would refer to the animal as her “soulmate,” even though she is married.
“As I was watching it, I wondered what her husband thinks about her dog being her soul mate LOL, hopefully he’s accepting, too,” one user joked.
How Finn Helped Amanda Seyfried Through Anxiety
For fans who follow Seyfried closely, her declaration of love for Finn comes as no surprise.
The furry pet has been a constant fixture by her side for well over a decade and has also appeared with her on late-night talk shows, in magazine shoots, and across her social media account.
In a previous chat with PEOPLE, she disclosed that she used to battle panic attacks and anxiety until she met “the one” on the set of the HBO show “Big Love,” which ran from 2006 to 2011.
“As soon as he was mine, like 24 hours after I got him, I realized something about me needed him,” Seyfried said. “He completely changed my life and helped me find my solitude and my independence. When you have a lifestyle like I did when I was in my early twenties, there were no constants.”
“It was just hard to know where I was going to be the next month because of my career,” she continued. “That’s why I got him.”
Seyfried Tries To Bring Finn To Set
Seyfried added that Finn was instrumental in helping her get her anxiety under control. Since then, she has made sure to negotiate it into her film contracts so Finn can be by her side on set as much as possible.
“My anti-depressant has been a lifesaver,” she said.
“I just can’t picture being anywhere without him,” she says. “Except England. Every time I do a movie over there, I have to leave him. I wouldn’t put him through that plane ride unless I was there for long enough to make sense because he has such a good life when he’s being babysat by my agent.”
Amanda Seyfried Feared For Her Safety After Charlie Kirk Backlash
Seyfried caught some flak last year when she replied to an Instagram Reel compilation of Charlie Kirk, calling him “hateful.”
The comment triggered backlash from Kirk’s supporters, who accused her of implying that his shooting death was justified.
She later shared an Instagram statement saying, “I can get angry about misogyny and racist rhetoric and ALSO very much agree that Charlie Kirk’s murder was absolutely disturbing and deplorable in every way imaginable.”
During her recent interview with British GQ, she admitted that she feared for her own safety after the barrage of backlash, revealing that she even had to hire a bodyguard.
“A, I’m allowed to f-cking voice my feelings, and B, do it in a way that’s not unkind necessarily,” she noted, adding that there is “an outsized fear and hatred and impulse to bash and to tear down,” and she did experience it a little.
“I want my kids to be able to feel safe to voice their opinions as long as they’re not harmful,” Seyfried continued. “So, I’m like, ‘What do I do? What do I say?’ And then all of a sudden I find myself with a f-cking bodyguard at the airport, and I’m like, ‘This is crazy.’”
Harlan Coben‘s stories are unmistakable: they’re emotional, fast-paced, and twisty. The mystery author has produced over a dozen stories for various streaming platforms, most of which are available on Netflix. Over ten of his shows are available to stream right now. The latest entrant is another crime thriller that follows a father on a mission to uncover the truth about his son’s disappearance. Many of Coben’s shows are hits with viewers, consistently appearing in the top ten in the period after their release. But the shows tend to divide critics, and this latest one has proven so.
Titled I Will Find You, the series follows David, played by Avatar‘s Sam Worthington. David has been serving a prison sentence after being convicted of the murder of his son. However, he has someone in his corner in the form of his sister-in-law Rachel (Britt Lower), who never believed David was guilty of the crime. While David has been imprisoned, Rachel, an investigative journalist, has unearthed evidence that her nephew Matthew is still alive. She brings the evidence to David, who decides to break out of prison and find his son. He must outsmart shadowy organizations and law enforcement in his quest to bring Matthew home.
Is ‘I Will Find You’ Worth Watching?
After ten or so shows, the story sounds like typical Harlan Coben, and that’s the exact problem critics found with the show. I Will Find You has debuted with a 71% score on Rotten Tomatoes, signaling a divisive story. This is not Coben’s worst-rated show, but with hits like Run Away, it’s his lowest-rated show this year. Most critics weren’t impressed, and others were downright disappointed by the story’s mediocrity. Collider’s Taylor Gates noted that a missing-person story is not new on TV, but I Will Find You‘s biggest problem is its characters, who make viewers feel like they’ve seen them before in a dozen other shows. “There is ultimately a genericness [in the characters] that permeates, leaning into tropes and archetypes — the persistent reporter, the shady benefactor, the rogue cop, etc. — instead of creating more well-rounded, fleshed-out individuals,” she wrote in her review of I Will Find You Season 1.
Other critics shared similar sentiments, noting that even with flaws such as weak characters and pacing issues, I Will Find You delivers an engaging story. ScreenRant‘s Cher Thompson said the show “makes a concerted effort to ensure that its mystery makes sense and comes to a satisfying conclusion.” Meanwhile, Nick Schager of The Daily Beast compared the show to junk food that “makes viewers crave additional servings (no matter how bad they feel afterward).”

Jamie Lynn Spears is opening up about the terrifying day she thought she had lost her daughter forever.
Nearly a decade after Maddie Aldridge’s near-fatal ATV accident, the actress and her now-18-year-old daughter are reflecting on the ordeal that left their family fearing the worst.
From desperate prayers to what Spears describes as a miracle recovery, the mother-daughter duo is sharing how the life-changing experience strengthened their faith and forever changed the course of their family’s story.
In a new interview with PEOPLE, Jamie Lynn Spears looked back on the 2017 accident that nearly claimed Maddie’s life.
“That was the day I thought I’d lost my daughter. Against all odds, this baby girl fought to be here,” the actress revealed.
Maddie was only eight years old when she was riding an ATV on the family’s property in Fluker, Louisiana. According to Spears, the frightening incident happened in an instant.
“We were watching her, and we still don’t quite know if she was dodging a dog or what it was,” she shared, adding, “She went in the water and me, my father-in-law and my husband [Jamie Watson] ran as fast as we could to go jump in to get her out, but she was stuck under the ATV.”
As family members rushed to help, Spears’s mother-in-law called 911. Emergency responders arrived within minutes to assist in rescuing Maddie from beneath the vehicle.
Spears Thought Her Daughter Was Gone
The situation became even more devastating once Maddie was pulled from the pond.
“When Maddie was pulled out of the water, it was really not a sight anybody wants to see,” Jamie Lynn Spears recalled. “At that point, she was not breathing. We thought that she had passed.”
Then came a moment the doting mom says she will never forget. A firefighter suddenly announced they had found a pulse.
Maddie was immediately airlifted to a hospital, where doctors placed her in intensive care. She remained in a coma for two days as loved ones waited and prayed for signs of improvement.
The family’s fear grew so severe that a priest was called to administer her last rites. For Spears, the experience was almost impossible to process as she watched her daughter fight for survival.
Jamie Lynn Spears Believes A Miracle Happened In The Hospital
While Maddie remained unconscious, Spears shared that an extraordinary moment unfolded in her hospital room.
“He comes in, and she physically sits up in all her restraints and tubes,” the 35-year-old said while recalling the priest’s visit. “I’m screaming for the doctors, like ‘Come in here now!’”
The experience left everyone stunned. “Even the priest was like, ‘I’ve never seen anything like what’s happening,’” Spears explained.
For the “All That” actress, that moment strengthened her belief that her daughter could hear the prayers surrounding her.
“I knew she was in there and felt all of us praying. We were given a miracle, and I don’t take it for granted,” she said
Although Maddie has no memory of the accident itself, she believes the ordeal had a lasting impact on the family’s faith.
According to Spears, “I feel like our faith got a lot stronger. In the end, I think such a negative experience affected us positively.”
Spears Says Maddie’s Recovery Led To A Special Promise
Before the accident, Maddie had often talked about wanting a younger sibling. According to Jamie Lynn Spears, those conversations took on new meaning while her daughter remained in a coma.
“I was bargaining with God, like, ‘Take my arm, take my leg. I don’t care. Just give me my baby back,’” she recalled, adding, “I was like, ‘I’ll have a baby. I’ll have whatever you want.’”
When Maddie finally regained consciousness, Spears immediately remembered one thing. “You going to give me that baby?” she asked her mother.
Spears laughed while remembering her response. “I was like, ‘Oh, He’s already calling in,’” she shared. Only a few months later, the singer became pregnant with her second daughter, Ivey, who was born in 2018.
Jamie Lynn Spears Celebrates Maddie’s Bright Future
Despite the grim predictions that followed the accident, Maddie made a full recovery and is now preparing for an exciting new chapter.
“Seeing everybody rally around me, it made me realize how blessed I am. It really made me so grateful for every day,” Maddie said during the interview.
The teenager is set to attend the University of Southern Mississippi this August, where she plans to study health sciences while continuing her softball career.
Watching her daughter thrive remains something Spears says she never takes for granted. “I just was so happy to have her, but how in the world did God give her back?” she said.
The actress reflected on everything Maddie has accomplished since that frightening day, saying, “And then He gave her back in a way that she’s succeeding, she’s beautiful, she’s kind, she’s smart…”

The residents of Stars Hollow are busier than ever.
Season 16 of “The Real Housewives of New York City” is expected to premiere sometime in 2026. However, as filming has wrapped, Erin Lichy is dishing on the season and teasing what fans can expect from Carole Radziwill, who is returning as a friend of the show.
This comes after a new report claimed that the fan-favorite “RHONY” star had a feud with Sai de Silva, who first joined the show in season 14 following the full-cast reboot.
Lichy attended The One Party by Uber in New York City in June 2026. While at the event, she spoke to Us Weekly, previewing what viewers can expect from season 16 of “The Real Housewives of New York City.” Notably, the series has been off the air since early 2025.
She teased, “It’s gonna be good. We have some new people that really mesh well with us. They bring some spice. I feel like I found some besties.” Regarding Radziwill’s return to the show, Lichy called her “amazing,” saying she “mixes well” with the other ladies.
The “RHONY” star added, “She brings a whole other element, and seeing her sort of overcome what happened with ‘Love Story,’ while our show was being filmed, was really interesting.”
The Bravo Star Says Carole Radziwill Gets ‘Messy’ In New Season
Lichy continued discussing the upcoming season of “RHONY” by going into specifics about some of her costars. Regarding Radziwill, she revealed that fans will see her get “a little messy” when the series returns. She added, “We love it.”
The 38-year-old also dished on Daisy Toye, who is new for the season, stating, “Daisy’s bringing it. I love her. Daisy and Carole are my girls, but we all really love each other.”
Lichy’s comments come after TMZ reported in June that Radizwill and de Silva maintained a contentious relationship throughout the course of filming. Per the report, this was the case, as Silva noted on camera that Radziwill was mentioned in the Epstein files due to her association with Ghislaine Maxwell.
Some of their interactions were described as de Silva “grilling” Radziwill, stating that she felt the need to do so as she has children.
‘RHONY’ Fans Are Weighing In On The Rumored Carole Radziwill And Sai de Silva Beef
Following Lichy’s comments and the report about Radziwill’s upcoming on-screen drama with de Silva, fans are weighing in. For the most part, social media users feel that, if true, de Silva had a right to question the “RHONY” legend. However, others question whether the 45-year-old may have taken things too far, given Radziwill’s previous explanation of her connection to Maxwell.
One X user said, “Sai is angry and loud every season with someone, and she is never fun or interesting. She’s the sole reason I won’t be tuning in.” Someone else stated, “Sai needs to get some new material if she’s going to come for The Princess Carole.”
However, a different person reacted, saying, “Now I’m interested in watching. I think Carole does need to be grilled on this subject. She shouldn’t even be back in the show. Very disappointed in Andy and company for casting her.”

She captioned the photo “Just out here asking the questions that everyone wants to know…” Naturally, most “RHONY” fans assume she used the post to confirm that she did, in fact, ask the 62-year-old about her inclusion in the Epstein files.

Lichy appeared on “Watch What Happens Live” in April 2026, roughly a month after the “Real Housewives of New York City” cast had begun filming. During the episode, host Andy Cohen teased, “If y’all knew all of the insanity that Erin is in the middle of right now, shooting the ‘Housewives of New York,’ you would understand why she needs a night off tonight.”

On Wednesday, June 17, reports surfaced that Toosii had stepped away from LSU’s football program and returned to pursuing music full-time, according to head coach Lane Kiffin.
During a recent appearance on Tyrann Mathieu’s podcast, Kiffin said Toosii decided to step away from football after struggling to balance college athletics with his music career. The coach also revealed that the rapper had signed a promotional deal with a gambling company. According to Kiffin, the partnership created additional challenges due to NCAA rules and restrictions.
