7 Greatest Sitcoms With Less Than 5 Seasons, Ranked
From Friends to It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia to Abbott Elementary, a great sitcom can go on for a number of seasons. Because sitcoms have complex characters and are less confined to linear storylines, they have the potential to continue for a very long time. Many of the very best sitcoms have continued for hundreds of episodes, and in that time, fans have been able to watch the characters and their relationships develop in lovely and surprising ways.
While sitcoms are known for their longevity, there are many fantastic sitcoms that did not get as many seasons. Whether this be because they were prematurely cancelled or they ended at an intentional stopping point, there are quite a few hidden gems of sitcoms that only went on for four seasons or fewer. These are the best sitcoms that are under five seasons, ranked.

‘Crashing’ (2016)
Crashing follows a group consisting of some friends and some strangers who are all serving as property guardians in an abandoned hospital. The living space is not in the best condition, and they could be suddenly forced to move out at any time, but they get to live there for free. The series kicks off when two new people move in and shake up the existing dynamic of the hospital, creating messy love triangles and hilarious disagreements.
Crashing sadly only got one season, but its six-episode run was truly something special. Over the course of the series, engaged couple Anthony (Damien Molony) and Kate (Louise Ford) adjust to the arrival of Anthony’s chaotic childhood best friend, Lulu (Phoebe Waller-Bridge). Meanwhile, the rest of the property guardians deal with quite a bit of drama of their own. Sam (Jonathan Bailey) and Fred (Amit Shah) strike up an unlikely close friendship, and Melody (Julie Dray) convinces Kate’s coworker, Colin (Adrian Scarborough), to move into the hospital. Crashing is a truly hilarious show with excellent and unique characters, and it still makes for a great watch.

‘Santa Clarita Diet’ (2017–2019)
Santa Clarita Diet follows married couple Sheila (Drew Barrymore) and Joel Hammond (Timothy Olyphant), who work as a realtor duo and live in a Santa Clarita suburb with their teenage daughter, Abby (Liv Hewson). Sheila and Joel have a happy but mundane life together, until Sheila starts exhibiting some strange symptoms. When Sheila dies and comes back to life, Joel and Abby realize that she has become a zombie.
Santa Clarita Diet was sadly cancelled after just three seasons, but it is a phenomenal sitcom that perfectly blends sharp comedy with horror elements. Sheila and Joel try to keep up with their lives while also dealing with the startling realization that Sheila now has to kill and eat people in order to survive, and finding ways to help her do so without getting caught by their nosy neighbors. With each season, Santa Clarita Diet delves deeper into its creative and well-written zombie lore, and it only gets more over-the-top and wonderfully outrageous in its humor.

‘Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23’ (2012–2014)
Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23 follows the unlikely friendship between two very different roommates living together in New York City: optimist June Colburn (Dreama Walker), It Girl/conwoman, Chloe (Krysten Ritter). Their circle is made up of Chloe’s best friend, a fictionalized and exaggerated version of James Van Der Beek, as well as James’ agent, Luther (Ray Ford), Chloe and June’s neighbors, Robin (Liza Lapira) and Eli (Michael Blaiklock), and June’s boss, Mark (Eric André).
Although Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23 was cancelled after just two seasons, it is one of the funniest and most underrated sitcoms ever, with delightfully weird humor and a phenomenal ensemble of characters. The show’s two seasons see Chloe regularly concocting bizarre and over-the-top schemes, and the rest of her friends getting roped into them, even as June often tries to steer her in the other direction.
4
‘Mythic Quest’ (2020–2025)
Mythic Quest is a hilarious workplace sitcom that follows the creative team behind the wildly popular multiplayer roleplaying video game, Mythic Quest. At the center of it all is the intense partnership between the game’s creator, Ian Grimm (Rob Mac), and its lead engineer, Poppy Li (Charlotte Nicdao). Mythic Quest was sadly cancelled after just four seasons, but it is a sharply funny and creative sitcom that still has a satisfying ending.
Mythic Quest is wildly funny, but it also has a powerful emotional core. Each season, Mythic Quest has a departure episode that focuses on characters who aren’t otherwise a part of the show, and who have a surprising connection to the MQ team. Mythic Quest has some of the best and most inventive sitcom episodes ever, and it is also very silly and clever in its humor.
3
‘Happy Endings’ (2011–2013)
Happy Endings is a classic hangout sitcom with a hilarious twist. Jane (Eliza Coupe), Brad (Damon Wayans Jr.), Penny (Casey Wilson), Max (Adam Pally), Alex (Elisha Cuthbert), and Dave (Zachary Knighton) are an extremely tight-knit friend group. When Alex leaves Dave at the altar, though, they all suddenly have to deal with the awkwardness of two of their best friends breaking up.
The friend group at the center of Happy Endings is one of the funniest and strangest sitcom friend groups ever. They’re extremely intense, and they often don’t know how to act around outsiders. They do vicious and personal insult pile-ons, get into over-the-top and deeply intense prank wars with one another, and even celebrate their own made-up holidays. Happy Endings is such a fun and silly show, and although it just got three seasons, it is still the perfect watch.
2
‘Galavant’ (2015–2016)
Galavant is a fairytale-sitcom hybrid that tells the story of a once-successful knight named Galavant (Joshua Sasse). Ever since Galavant’s true love, Madalena (Mallory Jansen), left him for the evil King Richard (Timothy Omundson), he has been an emotional wreck. When the determined Princess Isabella (Karen David) asks him for help saving her kingdom from Richard, Galavant still refuses, until she tells him that Madalena still loves him.
Of course, the whole thing is a trap designed by Richard to lure an unsuspecting Galavant to his death, but that doesn’t stop Galavant from questing right into it – alongside his trusty squire, Sid (Luke Youngblood). Galavant is an epic, hilarious fantasy series that balances silly musical numbers with exciting tales of adventure. Galavant was prematurely cancelled after only two seasons, but it is a phenomenal series with two very different but equally fantastic installments, and an excellent ensemble cast made up of unique and complex characters.

‘The Good Place’ (2016–2020)
The Good Place follows Eleanor Shellstrop (Kristen Bell), a selfish woman who has just died in an embarrassing shopping cart crash. As soon as she dies, Eleanor is sent to the Good Place, but she soon realizes that she’s been brought there by mistake. When Eleanor’s misdeeds start causing grave problems for her Good Place neighborhood, she turns to her mistakenly-assigned soulmate, a former ethics and moral philosophy professor named Chidi Anagonye (William Jackson Harper), to teach her how to become a good person.
Whereas most shorter sitcoms were prematurely cancelled, series creator Michael Schur chose to cap The Good Place at four seasons, and it’s the perfect length for the series. The Good Place tells a story that perfectly fits into four very different seasons that see the main characters growing, changing, and becoming better versions of themselves. The series is packed with shocking plot twists, intense cliffhangers, and it has some of the best and most creative concept episodes.

Bold and the Beautiful: Electra Loses Control – Declares War After Will Breakup!
Bold and the Beautiful stuns as Electra Forrester (Laneya Grace) appalled that Will Spencer (Crew Morrow) had a kiss from another woman and wouldn’t even listen to him say that was right after he saw Electra kiss another man. And things are getting so much messier soon.
We’re going to get into how Will and Electra may both be looking to get some payback on each other and I expect people at Forrester Creations to be taking sides.
Bold and the Beautiful: Will Comes Clean
So, Will told Electra the truth about the kiss with Melissa Dylan (Sydney Bullock) but then she did NOT admit to the kiss with RJ Forrester (Joshua Hoffman). And in both cases, someone else kissed them—neither Will nor Electra asked for or really participated in the kisses.
But only Will’s telling the truth. Electra bailed on Will who was flabbergasted by Electra’s hypocrisy. Now, Will and Electra are at odds and it doesn’t look like their reunion is going to happen—at least not for a good while. Recently, we saw Electra ask Will if he and Dylan crossed the line and kissed.
Of course, they did and Electra was horrified and could not believe Will’s lips touched another woman’s, especially Dylan’s. But Will knows RJ and Electra kissed also. And Will called her out saying Electra made choices too.
But she acted like she didn’t understand what he meant and was appalled at Will suggesting she did anything at all wrong. That was very poor communication since he never told Electra what he saw.
Will and Electra Head for Revenge Wars on B&B
So, it definitely seems like the writing is on the wall that Will’s likely going to end up dating Dylan—at least for a while. And Electra’s going to end up getting much closer to RJ. And based on what’s coming this week, I suspect a revenge war may be brewing.
Plus, Dylan and RJ might get attention from Will and Electra because those two may be looking for payback and to make the other person jealous. Of course, that’s not really fair to RJ or Dylan if they’re only being used for petty backlash.
Starting tomorrow, looks like Electra is the one who starts the revenge game. And Will probably claps back after the stunt Electra pulls. Will and Electra are both mad at each other for kissing other people and things may get ugly between Electra and Will and others at Forrester Creations.
And I suspect we’re going to see people at Forrester Creations divided on the situation and taking sides. Like right now, ex-Forrester designer, Deke Sharpe (Harrison Cone) is clearly on Dylan’s side and not Electra’s. Even though he was friendly with Electra, he just dropped some truth bombs.
Bold and the Beautiful: Deke and Steffy Take Dylan and Will’s Side
Deke told Dylan that Electra is different from them because she had everything handed to her. Meanwhile, Deke said he and Dylan had to work hard for everything. Plus, we know Deke has a soft spot for Dylan and feels for her because she was living in her car.
And Deke found Dylan eating out of the dumpster behind Il Giardino. So, of course, when Deke hears that Electra’s getting jealous over Dylan and ranting about her working at Forrester Creations, I’m sure Deke is going to defend Dylan.
Especially because Deke knows that Electra knew Dylan was living out of her car and going hungry—which is awful. Yet Electra still gave Will the ultimatum to kick Dylan out or lose her. So, Deke’s going to take Dylan’s side. And Will’s. Deke and Will see eye-to-eye.
And I also think we’re going to see Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) on Dylan’s side and Will’s. Remember, Steffy told Will he shouldn’t quit even though he said leaving would make things easier on Electra. So, Steffy adores Dylan and thinks that Will’s a good guy.
Steffy just hired Dylan at Forrester Creations, and really wants her there. Plus, Steffy’s known Dylan for a while because she was Hayes Forrester Finnegan’s (Bryan Garlick) art teacher. Plus, Steffy feels terrible that Dylan got pulled into that whole Luna Nozawa (Lisa Yamada) nightmare and held hostage at the beach house by Luna.
Dylan went through a whole lot of trauma because of Luna and Steffy feels responsible because Luna was after her. So, I don’t think Steffy is going to like how Electra comes at her this week in the CEO office after she finds out Steffy hired Dylan.

Electra Begs Steffy Not to Hire Dylan on B&B
Electra starts freaking out and tells Steffy that Dylan is not what’s best for Forrester Creations—not by a long shot. And she begs Steffy not to hire Dylan. Whatever issues Electra has with Dylan have nothing to do with her being a good fit for Forrester Creations on Bold and the Beautiful.
Electra’s a spoiled brat who’d literally prefer Dylan to be jobless and homeless instead of her feeling slightly uncomfortable. Plus, Ivy Forrester (Ashleigh Brewer) cooked all this up. So, Steffy’s going to be Team Dylan and Will and she probably tells Electra don’t bring your personal drama to the workplace.
Meanwhile, Will’s telling Dylan not to worry because they’re going to figure everything out together. So, Will may hear that Electra’s trying to get Dylan fired. And Will might circle back to Steffy and say please let her keep the job.
Of course, RJ’s going to be 100% team Electra and he’ll jump at the chance to take her side, trash talk Will and Dylan hoping that RJ can get a date with her. There’s no doubting where his allegiance lies.
Bold and the Beautiful: Dylan May Expose Ivy’s Manipulation
And I think Daphne Rose (Murielle Hilaire) may land somewhere in the middle. Although she feels really bad for Electra, she also knows that Ivy orchestrated a lot of her heartbreak. Daphne knows that Ivy manipulated the breakup, blowing something way out of proportion to split them.
I tend to think Daphne will be the one who’s team put Will and Electra back together. And I’m betting Daphne tells Steffy what Ivy did because I fully expect Steffy to refuse Electra’s demand that she not hire Dylan.
Then, Electra will run crying to Ivy who will probably go make a scene with Steffy since as we know Ivy not just Team Electra but she’s Team Take Down Will. And that’s when I think Daphne tells Steffy what she saw and the threats Ivy made.
And things may reach a boiling point where Steffy might fire Ivy and tell her to leave LA. Electra may agree once the ugly truth is out. But even so, a lot of damage has been done and it could be a while before Will and Electra reunite.

Taylor Frankie Paul Breaks Down Missing Bachelorette Flight
After Taylor Frankie Paul missed her flight for The Bachelorette in the season 4 finale of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, there’s one question on everyone’s mind — why?
Warning: This post contains spoilers for The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives season 4.
“I was exhausted,” Taylor, 31, exclusively told Us Weekly in her first interview about The Bachelorette season 22 since wrapping production. “I was emotionally exhausted and I felt very drained and almost tested to my wit’s end of, like, can I do this? It was the night before, I was just like, ‘Can I do this? Am I capable?’ I feel like my battery [was] just at 10 percent.”
During season 4, which premiered on Thursday, March 12, costar Jessi Ngatikaura claimed Taylor slept with ex Dakota Mortensen the night before she was scheduled to head to the Bachelor Mansion. (Taylor and Dakota share son Ever, whom they welcomed in March 2024. She’s also mom to daughter Indy, 8, and son Ocean, 5, whom she shares with ex-husband Tate Paul.)
Jessi, Mayci Neeley, Mikayla Matthews, Layla Taylor — and even Taylor’s mom and sister — awaited her arrival at the airport. It didn’t take long for the group, however, to realize the reality TV star wasn’t coming. MomTok then headed to Taylor’s house to convince her to get on the plane despite feeling “sick.” After she initially refused, Taylor ultimately boarded the aircraft.
“It took everything in me to get up and go, because I knew it was going to be the best thing for me,” Taylor explained to Us. “Yes, the goal is to find someone, but what I do know is I want out of this toxicity that I’m in right now. So I knew that I needed to go, but it took everything in me to get there.”

Despite a FaceTime call with Dakota after she landed in which she admitted to still having “feelings” for him, Taylor told Us it didn’t take long for her to realize it was the right decision for her to pursue The Bachelorette.
“I think as soon as I got there, I’m like, ‘We’re here. We made it. I’m a little late today,’” Taylor told Us. “To be in such a spot of turmoil and to be able to get up and still try and go — I feel like the people that tried to take me down beforehand, they would’ve won if I stayed home. So it’s like, ‘You’re not winning. I don’t care if it takes everything in me.’ There are people that end up by your side that don’t want you to succeed and that, unfortunately, comes with what we do. And so I refuse. So I got up and I went and I did it, and it was one of the best things I’ve ever done in my life.”
As season 4 came to a close, Dakota wondered aloud to Jessi and her husband, Jordan Ngatikaura, if Taylor could be pregnant after allegedly not having her period. Taylor told Us, however, that another pregnancy was not even remotely on her radar.
“That wasn’t even a thought in my mind,” Taylor explained.
As for where she and Dakota stand today — post-Mormon Wives season 4 and as The Bachelorette season 22 starts — Taylor told Us “that’s a good question.”
“I don’t even know,” she said. “I have to ask myself that question all the time. Where do we stand? I don’t know. Ask me tomorrow.”
The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives is streaming now. The Bachelorette season 22 premieres on ABC Sunday, March 22, at 8 p.m. ET and streams the next day on Hulu.

10 Forgotten ’90s Movies That Have Aged Like Fine Wine
The 1990s were not all that long ago, in the overall scheme of things, but they were also far back enough that the movies that came out that decade can probably be called classics nowadays. The newest film from the 1990s is still more than a quarter of a century old, and the earlier ones are in their mid-30s, so to speak. As a result, plenty of ‘90s movies are generally well-remembered, or appreciated as classics nowadays by younger movie watchers who might not remember the decade themselves.
Yet there were also so many movies released throughout the 1990s that a few genuinely good ones have been mostly forgotten. What follows is a few of those, none of them with more than 10,000 ratings on Letterboxd at the time of writing… like, you don’t want someone telling you that, what, Leon: The Professional is “forgotten” just because it’s sometimes called a cult classic, do you? If you do, sorry. There’s a proper attempt at looking at obscure or mostly forgotten stuff here, and then further, these movies are also really good, and still generally hold up better than you might expect when watched today. The wine is aging fine or whatever, something like that.

‘Pushing Hands’ (1991)
Ang Lee became more well-known after the 1990s, largely thanks to movies like Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and Brokeback Mountain. He’s a super accomplished director who, somewhat unusually, has won Best Director at the Oscars on two occasions, but he’s yet to direct a Best Picture winner, at least at the time of writing, though Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon did win Best Foreign Language Film.
Anyway, some of his 1990s movies are also really good, with Pushing Hands admittedly not being the very best of them (Eat Drink Man Woman is a genuine all-timer, for one), but it is his most obscure and overlooked movie. It’s a grounded dramedy about a man who moves from Beijing to America to live with relatives there, and finds himself a fish out of water and all that. It’s very good, and also particularly strong by the standards of a directorial debut.

‘Industrial Symphony No. 1: The Dream of the Brokenhearted’ (1990)
You won’t usually see Industrial Symphony No. 1: The Dream of the Brokenhearted ranked among David Lynch’s feature films, even if it just squeaks by being feature-length (maybe?), with a runtime of 50 minutes. It’s longer than 45 minutes. It’s enough. But also, this one wasn’t released theatrically, so maybe that’s a reason why it’s more obscure. Also, it’s kind of a concert film?
Industrial Symphony No. 1: The Dream of the Brokenhearted is maybe the strangest David Lynch “movie” that’s not a short film.
But it’s David Lynch doing a concert film. Frequent collaborator and musician Julee Cruise is the closest thing to the central subject here, but Nicolas Cage and Laura Dern are also here, albeit not exactly reprising their roles from Wild at Heart, even if that Lynch-directed movie came out the same year as Industrial Symphony No. 1: The Dream of the Brokenhearted. Look, it’s maybe the strangest David Lynch “movie” that’s not a short film, and the only reason Inland Empire is less approachable is that it’s more than three times as long. But Industrial Symphony No. 1: The Dream of the Brokenhearted is neat, dreamy, and entirely unique, so it’s worth checking out if you’re a fan of Lynch’s work but haven’t seen this particular one yet.

‘A Fistful of Fingers’ (1995)
Before he made some of the funniest and most iconic British comedies of all time, Edgar Wright directed A Fistful of Fingers, which is absolutely not as good as the likes of Shaun of the Dead or Hot Fuzz. That being said, it’s way better than many give it credit for. Might sound like a hot take, but it’s potentially even better (or at least more entertaining) than some of the less comedy-focused films Wright’s been trying his hand at in more recent years.
This is a parody of spaghetti Westerns, which are themselves (often) more over-the-top takes on the Western genre, so A Fistful of Fingers sure is ridiculous. It throws many jokes at you, and plenty don’t land, but it’s got that relentless energy many of the best parody movies have where you don’t really mind the fact that not every gag hits. This isn’t very well-remembered, and probably wouldn’t be remembered at all if Edgar Wright hadn’t gone on to become a well-regarded director, but if you like his 21st-century efforts, it’s worth traveling back to 1995 (accepting that this is more or less a feature-length student film) to give A Fistful of Fingers a chance.
7
‘Rex: A Dinosaur’s Story’ (1993)
1993 was a good year for dinosaur movies because Jurassic Park (the original; the one everyone agrees is great) came out that year. Oh, and there was also Rex: A Dinosaur’s Story, which was a very different sort of dinosaur movie, and actually a pretty good one, too. Further, the similarly titled We’re Back! A Dinosaur’s Story also came out in 1993. Dinosaurs everywhere.
With Rex: A Dinosaur’s Story, it’s a family movie about a young girl befriending a dinosaur, and it’s got more in common with another Steven Spielberg movie that’s not Jurassic Park: E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial. It’s weird at times, and also not the most technically proficient of movies out there, but Rex: A Dinosaur’s Story is offbeat in a good way, and it proves surprisingly charming at times if you’re willing to give yourself over to something knowingly silly and sappy. It’s got a good heart and stuff.
6
‘Wing Chun’ (1994)
Any movie from 1994 stands an unfortunately good chance of getting overshadowed, since there were so many amazing movies released that year. Maybe Wing Chun is one of them, because it feels pretty underrated as far as martial arts movies go… though those who have seen it don’t tend to underappreciate it. It just needs a few more eyeballs on it.
The fact it stars both Michelle Yeoh and Donnie Yen is a good selling point, as is the fact that it was directed by Yuen Woo-Ping, who’s work you’ve likely seen even if you don’t watch martial arts movies from Hong Kong, since he was credited with doing fight choreography for the first three The Matrix movies and both volumes of Kill Bill. Wing Chun has great martial arts actors and a great martial arts director, so it’s a great martial arts movie. Lots of fun, really well-executed action, and very little downtime overall. 93 minutes fly by pretty quickly.
5
‘The Baby of Mâcon’ (1993)
Since The Baby of Mâcon is a Peter Greenaway film, it gets pretty gross and unpleasant at times. His most popular or well-known movie is The Cook, the Thief, His Wife & Her Lover, after all, and that’s by no means one you can recommend to just anyone. And yet it’s more approachable than most of his other stuff, which gets more experimental or more confronting. Or both.
With The Baby of Mâcon, it’s not really more experimental than The Cook, the Thief, His Wife & Her Lover, and they’re stylistically/visually comparable in some regards. Instead, The Baby of Mâcon leans more toward being particularly confronting. It is remarkably horrifying and beyond heavy, so much so that it’s hard to even talk about what it covers narratively without lunging abruptly out of PG-rated territory. Watch it if you can handle something very intense, or if you have doubts, stay clear. It’s good, but emotionally scarring in almost every way a movie can be.
4
‘Minbo, or The Gentle Art of Japanese Extortion’ (1992)
Minbo, or The Gentle Art of Japanese Extortion was directed by Jūzō Itami, whose best-known film remains Tampopo, which came out in the 1980s. He’s done some other films that are pretty underrated overall, including this 1992 film, even if the story behind it is the thing that Itami is second most well-known for, because Minbo, or The Gentle Art of Japanese Extortion proved extremely dangerous for the filmmaker.
The movie is a comedic one about the Yakuza, and it’s also critical about the organization, which led to Jūzō Itami getting attacked not long after the film’s release. Five years later, he died under suspicious circumstances, so whether the Yakuza had anything to do with that is also theorized. Minbo, or The Gentle Art of Japanese Extortion is even gutsier, then, in hindsight, for poking fun at such an organization, though that legacy does also make the movie harder to watch, and if that’s a turn-off for some people (making the movie, overall, a bit less viewed), then maybe that’s understandable, to some extent.
3
‘Drive’ (1997)
Not the one with Ryan Gosling (though that 2011 film is also very good), Drive (1997) is a bit wilder when it comes to genre. It’s a crime movie with a sci-fi spin, there’s lots of martial arts action, and it’s also a buddy comedy/road trip kind of film. It’s pretty gonzo and also a little scrappy in terms of its production and budget, but there’s definitely an offbeat charm here.
Also, all that’s to say that trying to describe the plot here will make Drive seem stupid in a bad way, but if you really need the basics, it’s about a cybernetically-enhanced man who teams up with another random person (without cybernetic enhancements) and they go on the run from people who want the cybernetically-enhanced guy for their own nefarious purposes. It’s stop and start, just being chased, just running, all silly, maybe a little repetitive, yet there’s also a lot of fun to be had here, and the fight choreography is genuinely really good, so the problems start to feel more like nitpicks, in the end.

‘Beyond the Mind’s Eye’ (1992)
No narrative? No problems! Beyond the Mind’s Eye is just wild and psychedelic animation and music for almost an hour, and it’s awesome. Specifically, the animation here is very early computer animation, and some might say that would qualify Beyond the Mind’s Eye for being the opposite of a movie that’s aged like fine wine, but enough time has passed so that there’s something genuinely absorbing about how it all looks and feels.
It would’ve been genuinely impressive in 1992, and then nightmare fuel for maybe the 2000s and part of the 2010s, but it’s like a nostalgia or fashion cycle, and so 30+ years later, it’s great again, just not necessarily in a “Wow, this is groundbreaking” kind of way. Just zone out to this and look at all the weird and wonderful stuff. And good news if you’re one of the people fortunate enough to be wired to like strange stuff like this: there are three other entries in the Mind’s Eye series, and they’re all unbelievably trippy.
1
‘Tora-san to the Rescue’ (1995)
It’s understandable why Tora-san to the Rescue is more than a little obscure, at least outside Japan, because it’s the 48th (yes, really) movie in a very long-running series known as Tora-san, or Otoko wa Tsurai yo. Each movie is about a man named Tora, and he seems doomed to be an eternal bachelor, falling in love with a different woman in each film most of the time, with a few of his love interests ultimately being recurring characters.
A woman named Lily was in the most, and she’s in this 48th film, which is bittersweet, as Tora-san to the Rescue was the last movie the series’ star, Kiyoshi Atsumi, appeared in before passing away. One movie was re-released in a re-edited form post 1995, and then in 2019, there was a “50th” Tora-san movie about the character’s legacy, made 50 years on from the first movie, with the surviving cast members returning, all (naturally) so much older. Director Yoji Yamada is also one of the oldest active filmmakers of all time, helming all but two of the Tora-san movies, and releasing his 91st movie overall in 2025, at the age of 94. Anyway, it’s almost impossible to get people interested in a series that’s this much of a time commitment, but it is genuinely worth it, and this 1995 film is one of the best (and most emotionally resonant) of the bunch.

Love Is Blind’s Alex Gives Job Update After Reunion Drama
Love Is Blind season 10 star Alex Henderson is clearing up his career — again — after facing the lion’s den at the reunion.
“So, I am day trading,” Alex, 31, exclusively told Us Weekly ahead of the Wednesday, March 11, tell-all. “I pulled out of the market at the moment because I don’t know what’s happening in the Middle East [with the Iranian conflict], and I just want to, you know, trade on a SIM account, just to kind of see what’s going on there.”
Alex got engaged to Ashley Carpenter sight unseen in the Love Is Blind pods in February 2025, which aired last month on Netflix. After Alex and Ashley, 34, met face to face, she was puzzled by her then-fiancé’s career path.
Alex initially claimed that he liked to move around ever since an injury sidelined his professional soccer ambitions. While trying out residences in Ohio, Florida, Texas and New Zealand, Alex began day trading and working in finance for various companies.
Alex’s comments also perplexed Love Is Blind cohost Nick Lachey, who asked the former soccer star to explain his experiences at the reunion since his “story kept changing a little.”
“I was working at Square out here, the credit card processing firm, [in Arizona] and then I was working at a digital marketing firm in Florida,” Alex explained to Us, referring to his recent move from Ohio to Arizona. “I am pursuing some coaching opportunities out here as well. … Phoenix Rising is a USL team, so I helped out with their academies for a couple coaching positions or a couple sessions, and might continue to do that longer term.”

Alex, who retains dual citizenship in the United States and New Zealand, also isn’t sure whether he plans to stay in Arizona long-term.
“If I move, then I don’t know [if I’ll stick with coaching],” he mused. “I am in Arizona. I was in Florida, like, right after the show, and then moved out here. [I am] still being a little nomadic, so I’m up in the air as to where I’m gonna be moving to next.”
Alex’s love life is also up in the air, confirming to Us that he’s currently single after the show, which wrapped after Ashley called off their wedding at the altar. They reunited at the reunion, once again clashing over the timelines of Alex’s jobs and past relationships.
“We haven’t spoken since then,” Alex told Us. “We were very cordial, like, on stage. [We were] friendly, even just behind the scenes, just, ‘Hey, how are you?’ … We both, I think, knock on wood, wish for the best of each other. I know it’s how it is on my end for her, so I think it was pretty solid there.”
Ashley, for her part, exclusively told Us in a separate post-reunion interview that she and Alex are cordial “acquaintances.”
“We’re not enemies,” Ashley stated. “There will probably never be anything romantic [but] we’re good, though. No ill will, we just weren’t a match. We went through this crazy experience together, so we’ll always kind of have that.”

Andrea Bocelli Steps Into Chat Room Over Timothée Chalamet
A legendary voice has entered the conversation following Timothée Chalamet‘s controversial remark about the classical performing arts.
Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli is speaking out after the dismissive comments, hoping to educate the Hollywood big shot.
Other A-listers have also reacted to Chalamet’s statements, including Doja Cat, Whoopi Goldberg, and Sunny Hostin.
Andrea Bocelli Offers To Enlighten Timothée Chalamet After His Opera Remarks

Bocelli is offering a gentle correction to Chalamet after the actor made a disparaging remark about classical arts during a recent town hall event. Chalamet, 30, surprised many when he described opera and ballet as art forms that “no one cares about.”
Bocelli told People Magazine that he was taken aback to hear such a “fellow artist” dismiss these traditions so easily.
The legendary singer, who has spent his career bringing classical music to mainstream audiences, believes that people often stay away from things they haven’t truly experienced yet. He explained that opera and ballet are not relics of the past but are living languages that address a human need for truth, beauty, and deep emotion.
“I am convinced that a sensitive performer like Timothée, who understands the power of emotions, may one day discover that opera and dance draw from that very same source,” he said.
“Should he ever be curious, I would be happy to welcome him as a guest at one of my concerts. Sometimes it only takes a few minutes of hearing this music live to understand why, after centuries, it continues to be loved all over the world,” the iconic singer added.
He suggested that it often takes only a few minutes of hearing the music performed live to understand why it has remained beloved for centuries.
How Timothée Chalamet Sparked Outrage With His Comments

The original comments that sparked this global debate occurred during a candid professional discussion.
During a conversation between Chalamet and Matthew McConaughey, the latter questioned if audiences are losing the ability to focus on slower storytelling.
While Chalamet defended the interest younger viewers have in serious cinema, he admitted feeling conflicted about the need to constantly campaign for the survival of specific genres, per The Blast.
He stated that he did not want to work in ballet or opera, characterized by an environment where artists have to beg people to care about a medium “no one cares about anymore.”
Although he immediately tried to soften the blow with a laugh, acknowledging he was “taking shots for no reason,” the remark was quickly clipped and shared across social media.
Doja Cat Reacted To Timothée Chalamet’s Views On The Opera

Chalamet also received heavy criticism from rapper Doja Cat, who slammed him for his views. While wearing a leopard-print headband and a white bathrobe, the “Woman” hitmaker didn’t hold back as she schooled the actor on the historical significance and enduring popularity of the performing arts.
In her viral video, Doja Cat argued that Chalamet was entirely wrong to suggest that no one cares about opera and ballet.
According to The Blast, the singer praised the unique etiquette and “blood, sweat, and tears” that performers pour into their work. She further described the theater as a “f-cking beautiful” art form that deserves admiration regardless of the industry’s challenges.
Hosts of ‘The View’ Slammed The ‘Dune’ Actor

Much like Doja Cat, the hosts of “The View” were displeased with the young actor’s perspective. During a recent episode of the daytime talk show, the panel reacted strongly to the viral clip, with several co-hosts urging the star to think more carefully about the impact of his words.
Sunny Hostin, a former member of the Dance Theatre of Harlem, did not hide her disappointment as she addressed the issue directly.
“I’m offended and disappointed in what he said. I didn’t realize he was that vapid and that shallow,” Hostin said per The Blast.
Moderator Whoopi Goldberg also weighed in, warning Chalamet to “be careful” and reminding him that his words have weight, especially given that he comes from a family of dancers. She noted that “crapping on” someone else’s art form never feels good and suggested the actor’s attempt to joke about losing “14 cents in viewership” only compounded the insult.
Guest co-host and comedian Sheryl Underwood offered a slightly different perspective, suggesting that the backlash might be a result of the actor’s age and his status as a rising star.
The Actor’s Romantic Relationship Has Reportedly Taken A Hit Following His Statements

While the hosts of “The View” were vocal about his public image, the fallout from Chalamet’s remarks is reportedly reaching into his private life as well. According to sources close to the actor, the intense backlash over his ballet and opera comments has created significant tension in his relationship with Kylie Jenner.
The Blast confirmed that, according to reports, Kylie reportedly feels like she is being unfairly dragged into a mess she didn’t create, though she continues to stand by Chalamet’s side.
While they are reportedly trying to work through the friction, the “tense” atmosphere has become a major topic of conversation among those in their inner circle.

Honey Boo Boo’s Sister Pumpkin Makes Bold Career Move
Lauryn “Pumpkin” Efird is once again at the center of internet chatter.
The reality TV personality, best known as Honey Boo Boo’s older sister, recently revealed a surprising career move that immediately ignited debate across social media.
While some fans applauded the decision, others criticized it, turning the announcement into a heated conversation about fame, money and personal choices.
Lauryn ‘Pumpkin’ Efird Launches New Online Venture

Lauryn “Pumpkin” Efird confirmed she has joined OnlyFans, marking a major shift from the family-friendly reality television environment that first made her a recognizable face.
Speaking with TMZ, Efird revealed that the decision came after seeing others successfully monetize their content on the subscription platform.
In an Instagram announcement, she described the site as “the blue spicy app,” explaining that the move felt like a practical opportunity.
The account currently charges about $23 per month and will feature solo material for now.
However, Efird suggested that the content may evolve in the future as she becomes more comfortable with the platform and its audience.
Lauryn ‘Pumpkin’ Efird Says Boyfriend Supports Decision
Efird also made it clear that her personal life played a role in the decision.
According to the reality TV star, her boyfriend Darrin Kitchens has been supportive since she began considering the idea.
The couple has reportedly been together since 2024.
Efird also suggested she is not overly concerned about how the public reacts to her new venture, noting that audiences today are already used to seeing influencers and celebrities share revealing or exclusive content online.
For her, the decision appears to be another step in a career that has evolved significantly since her early days on television.
Pumpkin’s Television Fame Started Young
Lauryn “Pumpkin” Efird first entered the public eye during the early 2010s reality TV boom.
She appeared alongside her younger sister, Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson, on TLC’s “Toddlers & Tiaras,” a series that helped introduce viewers to the colorful Georgia family.
Thompson’s energetic personality quickly turned her into a breakout star, which led to the spinoff series “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo.”
The show attracted millions of viewers and turned the family into pop culture figures.
Over the years, Efird remained a visible part of the family’s reality TV journey while also taking on significant responsibilities behind the scenes.
In 2019, she became the legal guardian of Thompson during a difficult time when their mother, Mama June Shannon, was dealing with addiction struggles.
Efird has also continued appearing in later programs, including “Mama June: Family Crisis.”
Outside television, she launched a retail business called The Sisters Closet with her siblings and is raising four children of her own.
Fans React To Lauryn Pumpkin Efird’s Announcement
Following the OnlyFans announcement, the internet quickly filled with strong opinions from fans.
Some commenters expressed disappointment. One critic wrote, “Very sad- had it all.”
Others pushed back against that criticism. A supporter responded directly to the negative remark, writing, “girl she’s on reality tv she doesn’t have it all lmao they don’t pay those people sh-t.”
Another person joined the conversation with a longer explanation about the financial reality of reality television.
“You realize that they don’t make big bank right? Reality TV stars on networks like TLC can earn between $10,000 and $25,000 per season depending on their role and the show’s success. And, when they were minors, their mother had control over their earnings. Some of it was put away in a Koogan account but, as past seasons have shown, she blew a majority of it on a drug addiction.”
The original critic remained unconvinced, replying, “I realize but she had a good husband and was on the right path- unfortunately, her broken childhood and the way she was raised has caught up with her and here she is. It’s sad to see.”
Social Media Debate Continues Online

As the discussion grew, more users jumped into the conversation.
One person questioned the earlier criticism, writing, “How you know she had a good husband? Did you live with them?”
Another commenter added their own perspective on Efird’s past relationship drama.
They wrote, “Exactly must’ve lived with them because he is the one that although she stepped out too, he had a whole another baby, now that’s on another level. Lol. Good husband hugh?? Okay lol.”
Despite the disagreements, some fans simply encouraged Efird to live her life on her own terms.
“You do you boo dont let anyone tell you how to live your life,” one supporter wrote.
Others, however, remained critical. One person commented, “You can feel empowered and beautiful but to lower yourself and standards for this is crazy! Lost so much respect for you.”
The mixed reaction highlights just how polarizing the announcement has become. While some viewers see the move as a practical business decision, others believe it represents a surprising turn for someone who grew up on family-focused reality television.
For Lauryn “Pumpkin” Efird, though, the conversation is simply the latest chapter in a public life that has been unfolding for more than a decade.

Nicole Kidman Reveals Nashville Plans After Keith Urban Split
Nicole Kidman may be pursuing a new life away from her now-ex-husband, Keith Urban, but that doesn’t include her location, as the movie star revealed she won’t be leaving Nashville anytime soon.
The “Babygirl” actress seemingly showed the country singer what he’s been missing out on, as she posed in her underwear for an interview in which she explained that she’s focusing on their two daughters.
Following their divorce, Nicole Kidman has been having the time of her life traveling with her kids, amid what appears to be a packed 2026 calendar.
Nicole Kidman Reveals Why She Won’t Be Leaving Nashville
Nicole Kidman confirmed she has no intention of leaving Nashville, despite her divorce.
The “Practical Magic” actress moved to the country music capital almost two decades ago when she bought a mansion shortly after her marriage to Urban.
In light of her split from the singer, some expected that she would consider starting afresh somewhere else, but Kidman shared that she won’t be doing that, as Nashville has been “home” to her and her kids for a long time.
“We have our life here,” Kidman said in a recent interview with Variety. “I’m part of the city and community for 20 years. It’s my home.”
Kidman filed for divorce from Urban in September last year after being married for 19 years, during which they welcomed two daughters, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret.
At the time, reports emerged suggesting she might be moving to Europe and had applied for residency in Portugal.
She was understood to have been eyeing luxurious properties in the Costa Terra Golf and Ocean Club in a region south of Lisbon, which is often referred to as the “Hamptons of Portugal.”
The Actress Confirms She’s ‘Doing All Right’ As She Sizzles In New Photo Shoot
Kidman accompanied her interview with a lingerie photo shoot that showed off her toned legs and midriff.
In one look, she posed in an empty bathtub wearing sheer black leggings paired with a white button-up shirt and black heels.
In another, her black lace underwear can be clearly seen as she posed standing close to a bed frame.
When asked if she was “doing all right” since the divorce, she replied in the affirmative, saying, “I am, because I’m always going to be moving toward what’s good.”
The actress continued, “[Last year] I was quiet. I had other things going on. I was in my shell. Now I’m in a place of saying, ‘2026. Here we go.’”
Fans Praise Nicole Kidman’s Steamy New Snaps

Kidman’s latest shoot was met with praise from fans, who lauded the actress’s stunning figure and youthful look.
A person wrote, “She has never looked better. Good for her,” while another said, “I can’t believe Nicole is going to be 60 next year, she still looks good!!!!!!”
A third individual commented, “Oh, Nicole [is] still gorgeous [at] almost 60. Damn, she still has it absolutely stunning!”
One more person noted, “She is a queen. Her beauty has truly evolved over the years.”
The Oscar Winner Is Focused On Her Family

Elsewhere in her interview with Variety, the Oscar-winning actress explained that she’s now focused on her family, particularly the two daughters she shares with Urban.
“What I’m grateful for is my family, and keeping them as is, and moving forward. That’s that,” she said. “I’m staying in a place of ‘We are a family,’ and that’s what we’ll continue to be. My beautiful girls, my darlings, who are suddenly women.”
She then touched on her background and how it has kept her grounded in raising her daughters.
“I was raised to be able to mix in any circles, to really operate where everyone is equal and sit in all walks of life. I came from very socially conscious parents. We would always have people staying at our house. There was just a lot of rigorous conversation and exposure to many, many things,” she shared.
“We’re all very different, but we’re deeply connected and close. My daughter is in Paris right now working for Dior,” Kidman added of her connection with her girls.
Nicole Kidman Gushes About Upcoming Project With Sandra Bullock

“The Big Little Lies” star is looking ahead to a busy 2026 with a string of projects in the pipeline, including the “Practical Magic” sequel, which also features Sandra Bullock, and the Prime Video series “Scarpetta.”
Commenting on her decision to work on “Practical Magic 2,” Kidman said she did it so she could work with Bullock, as she has “so much protection and love” for her.
“I love Sandy. I love her. And we’re so different. I’m like [makes a wild noise with her mouth], and she’s so measured and together. We’re like sisters. I have so much protection and love for her. We also have incredible chemistry,” she said.
“We produce differently. She’s incredibly hands-on, and I love delegating. We have different skill sets that become complementary. It’s amazing that we still know each other. Joey King and the new cast are amazing, and Stockard Channing and Dianne Wiest are coming back,” Kidman added.

Dwight Howard Retires As His And Amy Luciani’s 911 Calls Surface
Roommates, sometimes the biggest headlines come when you least expect them. That’s exactly what’s happening with Dwight Howard right now. The former NBA superstar recently popped out with a message that quickly got fans talking. But while Dwight was making a major announcement about his career, his name has also been tied to some serious personal drama involving his wife, Amy Luciani. And let’s just say…the details coming out from both sides have definitely raised a few eyebrows.

Dwight Officially Retires From Basketball
Although Dwight Howard hasn’t played an NBA game since 2022, he never actually announced his retirement—until now. He woke up on March 12 and shared a lengthy message on X revealing he’s officially stepping away from the game after 20 years.
In the emotional post, Dwight said he’s “taking off the cape” and retiring from basketball to focus on family and giving back. While he acknowledged people might’ve thought he had already retired, he made it clear that wasn’t the case. Dwight shared that the game essentially “retired” him despite believing he still had more left to give. He also hinted at a documentary dropping later this year where he says he plans to tell the “truth about EVERYTHING.“
Woke up today on the 12th of this month and I figured it’s time to move on from Superman! Im no super human… I cry ! I struggle! I feel like everyone else. Through the lies, the media and the hate I still show love and Smile Through The Storm.
But now Im taking off the cape and… pic.twitter.com/SyZQAcAeLq

Dwight Reportedly Calls 911 On Amy
But while Dwight was making headlines for his retirement, his personal life also surfaced in the spotlight. According to newly surfaced 911 audio, Dwight Howard contacted authorities on March 7 claiming his wife left their Georgia mansion with several of his personal items. During the call, Dwight told dispatch that a woman—allegedly his wife—had taken off in a gray Camaro. He also claimed she took his valuables including jewelry, wedding ring, and phone.
Authorities reportedly told him an officer would follow up so he could file a report. However, the timing raised eyebrows, as the alleged incident happened just two days before Dwight filed for divorce on March 9. Around the time the divorce filing became public, Amy Luciani took to Instagram with allegations against Dwight. She has accused him of drug use—which he has since denied—and made abuse claims tied to their relationship and family situation.
Amy’s 911 Call Paints A Different Picture
Meanwhile, audio from a separate 911 call made by Amy Howard a day earlier is also circulating—and it tells a very different story. In the March 6 call, Amy claimed Dwight locked her out of their Georgia mansion during an argument, leaving her stuck outside in the rain. Additionally, Amy told the dispatcher she had to walk through the woods and force her way through a side gate to get back onto the property. She also identified her husband during the call as “Dwight Howard from the Lakers.”
Furthermore, Amy mentioned that the home contains a large number of weapons. She claimed that there are “over a thousand” stored in what she described as a gun room on the property. Lastly, she can be heard sharing frustration about being forced to sleep in her car during disputes, saying she couldn’t keep dealing with the situation.

Michelle Obama Talks ‘New Phase Of Life’ With Barack
After 33 years of marriage, Barack and Michelle Obama are navigating unfamiliar changes, and the former First Lady is revealing it.
The former first couple’s marriage has weathered its share of challenges, something they have opened up about.
After debunking divorce rumors last year, the pair are now stepping into a different chapter of life, with their daughters, Malia Obama and Sasha Obama, all grown and living independently.
How Michelle And Barack Obama Are Adjusting As Empty Nesters

The “Becoming” author recently spoke candidly about where she and her husband stand today, describing their marriage as entering a period of rediscovery and focusing on themselves.
“Our kids are grown. They’re out,” Michelle said on Wednesday’s episode of the “IMO with Michelle Obama & Craig Robinson” podcast. “They’re out. We’re looking at each other like, ‘Hey, I remember you.’ Now I’m not mad about anything. I don’t need you to do anything for me.”
The 62-year-old admitted that the transition has been unfamiliar territory for both of them. “It’s a new phase,” Michelle said. “Which takes time. We’re in a new phase of life.”
Michelle explained that both she and Barack now have to find themselves, as for years, their lives have revolved around their kids.
She also disclosed that many of the hardest moments in their relationship happened “because of their kids,” and called parenting the first major joint project couples do together.
Even after more than three decades together, Michelle emphasized that the relationship still requires effort.
“The level of muscle Barack and I have in our marriage is earned,” the mom of two added. “It’s earned over time, and it’s only gotten better. That’s the point. It only gets better. We’ve done the work.”
Michelle Obama Credited Couples Therapy And Self-Empowerment For Strengthening Her Marriage

Michelle’s comments about putting effort into her relationship echo comments she made earlier this year during an appearance on Alex Cooper’s “Call Her Daddy” podcast.
As The Blast reported, at the time, the author explained that she and her beau have constantly worked together to further strengthen their union. She revealed that they have attended couples therapy, which helped them improve communication and navigate challenges better.
She further emphasized the importance of self-empowerment, encouraging people to prioritize their health, confidence, and personal development rather than depending entirely on a partner for validation.
How Barack Failed To Notice Michelle’s New Appearance

The attorney has also shared light-hearted moments from her union. The Blast reported a February episode of her podcast with her brother, Craig Robinson, where she shared that she recently gotten new ear piercings, an idea inspired by younger generations.
She noted that the decision was not spontaneous, as she wanted more piercings, but stopped after getting a second one before having children.
However, she went for it, and it took three days before Barack realized something was different, jokingly blaming her habit of wearing her hair down. She recalled teasing him, saying: “I sleep with you every night, dude, you know?”
Barack Obama Praised As Protective Husband At NBA Game

Regardless of Barack’s failure to notice his wife’s new looks, he has undoubtedly had sweet public moments with her. Last month, the couple attended the NBA All-Star Game with their daughter Sasha. Michelle later posted photos from the outing on Instagram.
One moment, however, captured fans’ attention when a stray ball flew toward the couple. The ex-president quickly caught it before it could hit Michelle.
In a video later shared online, he calmly handed the ball to Devin Booker with a grin. The clip quickly gained attention on social media, with many praising his quick reflexes and protective instincts.
Per The Blast, one fan gushed about the moment, writing, “He’s a protector! I saw now he protected Michelle right there.”
Michelle Obama’s Second Daughter Seen Vaping

While Michelle and Barack adjust to life without their daughters at home, Sasha has recently made headlines of her own.
According to The Blast, the 24-year-old was spotted vaping after a workout session. In clips circulating online, she carried an oversized tote bag over one shoulder, her phone in one hand and a vape in the other, taking a few puffs as she walked away.
Michelle has previously spoken about the challenges of raising children in the public eye during their time in the White House. She explained that Sasha and Malia went through typical milestones like driving, prom, parties, drinking, and even smoking. However, keeping the vices out of headlines was a struggle she described as a “nightmare.”
