7 High Fantasy Shows Where Every Episode Is a Masterpiece

High fantasy series often take viewers into worlds filled with ancient history, magic, dangerous quests, powerful kingdoms, and conflicts that feel much larger than everyday life. The absolute greatest ones never simply rely on complicated mythology or spectacle; they instead guarantee that every episode feels significant by using each installment to expand their respective worlds, deepening characters, or moving the story toward something unforgettable.

Shows like the classic anime The Twelve Kingdoms, which uses kingdoms, mythical systems, rulers, and personal transformation to ensure its fantasy world feels incredibly rich, and the modern iconic House of the Dragon, which turns family rivalry, dragons, royal succession, and political ambition into a tragic fantasy saga where every moment feels important to the story, are just two high fantasy series that are genuinely great, even during its quieter scenes. Compiled on this list are such high fantasy series that deliver every one of their episodes as a well-crafted masterpiece.

This iconic high fantasy animated series masterfully integrates serialized growth and episodic adventure. Avatar: The Last Airbender follows the young avatar Aang (Zach Tyler Eisen), the last surviving Air Nomad, after he awakens to find the world war-torn. With the intent of ending the conflict, Aang and his friends set out on an adventure to master the four elements and restore balance to the world.

Avatar: The Last Airbender somehow manages to cleanly involve modest stories about spirits, villages, youthful mistakes, and tournaments to not only advance its political world and elemental philosophy, but also long-term character growth that ensures no episode feels wasted. The animation grows in ambition with each episode as the stakes reach heights most fans never expect, yet the incredible spectacle never replaces the ethical complexities within the captivating series. All three seasons of Avatar: The Last Airbender are pure dynamite, with the series holding a 100% Rotten Tomatoes score, dubbing the high fantasy animation as a true benchmark, with every one of its episodes standing as a genuine masterpiece.

‘The Untamed’ (2019)

The Untamed is a sweeping xianxia fantasy that features spiritual cultivation, clans, forbidden loyalty, ancient grudges, and tragic misunderstandings. The show centers on the disciplined Lan Wangji (Wang Yibo) and the free-spirited cultivator Wei Wuxian (Xiao Zhan), as their bond becomes tied to a much larger mystery rife with power, betrayal, and moral conflict.

The Untamed brilliantly blends clan politics, supernatural mystery, swordplay, and emotional restraint, delivering a story that becomes richer the more viewers come to understand its characters. The show’s 50-episode structure ensures both relationships and minor gestures carry incredible weight, with quiet expressions and seemingly insignificant conversations paying off many episodes later. The Untamed is far from a rushing fantasy adventure; instead, the series patiently builds its mythology, emotional conflicts, and rivalries until every moment of sacrifice, victory, and revelation feels genuinely earned. It’s the ultimate high fantasy masterpiece that’s actually consistent episode after episode, making it a fantastic addition to this list.

‘House of the Dragon’ (2022–Present)

This fantasy prequel to the iconic and heavily beloved series Game of Thrones can feel incredibly masterful even when its greatest battles are still being prepared. House of the Dragon focuses on Rhaenyra Targaryen (Emma D’Arcy), who is named the heir to the Iron Throne, which disrupts patriarchal expectations and intensifies conflict within a dragon-riding dynasty.

House of the Dragon is a carefully built series that offers episode after episode of strong storytelling. Political decisions are conveyed through glances, blocking, physical deterioration, ceremonial ritual, and the painful gaps between what family members actually feel and what power permits them to say, allowing every scene to be a captivating bout of genuine emotion and political weight. House of the Dragon may be an ongoing series, but the show’s unwavering attention to detail is exactly what makes the show such a rewarding masterpiece.

‘His Dark Materials’ (2019–2022)

His Dark Materials is an underrated high fantasy masterpiece that grows increasingly more impressive as its world expands and the story moves forward. The series follows the young orphan girl Lyra Belacqua (Dafne Keen) and her quest for the truth after the disappearance of other children, including her best friend.

Unlike the mostly disliked cut-down film adaptation, The Golden Compass, the TV series His Dark Materials had the room to preserve its source material’s theological and philosophical scale. From the show’s production design and impressive visual effects that make angels, armored bears, and alternate cities feel both awe-inspiring and tangible, to its expansive world-building and character development, the series brilliantly embraces the scope that Philip Pullman‘s novels deserve. His Dark Materials is a fantastic adaptation that brilliantly proves high fantasy is at its strongest when every installment is masterfully crafted and is allowed to fully realize its large ambitions.

How do you feel about the passing of time?
Our relationship with mortality shapes everything we value.

Danger is approaching. Your first instinct is to:
Fight, flight, or something in between — it’s more revealing than you’d think.

04

You stumble upon a great treasure. What do you feel?
What we desire — and what we do about it — is the true test.

05

How important is community and belonging to you?
No race of Middle-earth is truly alone — but some prefer it that way.

06

How ambitious are you, honestly?
Ambition is neither virtue nor vice — it depends entirely on what you want.

Middle-earth Has Spoken
You Belong To…

The race that claimed the most of your answers is your true kin. If two tied, both are shown — you walk between worlds.

◆ A TIE — YOU WALK BETWEEN TWO RACES ◆

🌿

Your Race

The Hobbits

You are, at your core, a creature of comfort, community, and quiet joy — and there is nothing small about that. Hobbits are proof that heroism does not require ambition, that the bravest heart can beat inside the most unassuming chest. You value good food, warm hearths, close friends, and a world that stays largely untroubled by dark lords and quests. When adventure does find you — and it will — you rise to it not because you sought it, but because the people you love needed you to. That is not ordinary. That is the rarest kind of courage in all of Middle-earth.

🌟
Advertisement

Your Race

The Elves

Ancient, graceful, and carrying a weight of memory most mortals cannot fathom, you are one of the Elves. You see the world in its fullness — its beauty, its impermanence, the unbearable ache of watching everything you love eventually fade. You pursue perfection not from pride, but because excellence is how you honour the time you have been given. Others may see you as remote or melancholy. They are not wrong, exactly. But they mistake depth for distance. You feel everything — which is precisely why you have learned to carry it so quietly.

⚒️

Your Race

The Dwarves

Stubborn, proud, fiercely loyal, and possessed of a work ethic that would exhaust most other races before breakfast — you are Dwarf-kind through and through. You do not ask for approval and you do not offer it cheaply. Your loyalty, once given, is given for life. Your grudges last longer. You love deeply and defend ferociously, and the things you build — with your hands, with your sweat, with generations of accumulated craft — are made to last. Not for glory. Because anything worth doing is worth doing properly, and you have never once done anything by half measures.

⚔️

Your Race

The Race of Men

Mortal, ambitious, flawed, and magnificent — you belong to the most complicated race in Middle-earth, and that complexity is your greatest strength. Men are capable of cowardice and extraordinary bravery, of cruelty and breathtaking sacrifice, sometimes within the same breath. You feel the urgency of your finite years, and it drives you. You want to matter. You want to leave something behind. You fall, and you rise, and the rising is what defines you. Tolkien called mortality the Gift of Men — not a curse, but a fire that burns bright precisely because it does not burn forever. That fire is you.

💀

Your Race

The Orcs

Brutal, survivalist, and contemptuous of anything that can’t defend itself — you answered with the instincts of an Orc, and there is a certain savage honesty in that. You do not dress up your desires in polite language or pretend you want things you don’t. You want power, survival, and to never be at the bottom of any hierarchy ever again. Orcs are not evil by nature — they were made from something that was once good, and broken into this shape by forces they did not choose. What remains is fierce, territorial, and deeply aware that the world is not kind. You’ve made your peace with that. The question is what you do with it.

‘The Legend of Vox Machina’ (2022–Present)

This underrated animated Prime Video series is a hilarious icon that masterfully brings high fantasy to life with humor, blood, chaos, and surprising emotional force. The Legend of Vox Machina centers around a dysfunctional group of mercenaries who accept increasingly consequential quests in the magical world of Exandria.

The Legend of Vox Machina delivers episode after episode of great bingeworthy material. The show’s comedy remains energetic and vulgar throughout its entirety, though never coming at the expense of the series’ high-stakes storytelling or emotional core. Instead, every battle, joke, and wholesome conversation helps to strengthen the bond between its unlikely heroes while richly expanding the fantasy world that surrounds them. With an effortless balance of brutal action, outrageous humor, memorable villains, and surprisingly moving moments, the series ensures that no episode feels wasted. The series is truly remarkable and easily stands among the rarest fantasy series, with every installment feeling like a true masterpiece.

‘The Twelve Kingdoms’ (2002–2003)

This fantastical anime rewards patient viewers with one of the richest fantasy journeys ever seen in the genre. The Twelve Kingdoms follows anxious Japanese teen Yōko Nakajima (Aya Hisakawa) as she’s taken to a parallel world of twelve kingdoms by the mysterious Keiki (Takehito Koyasu), who identifies her as a ruler despite her lack of confidence or knowledge.

With its meticulously constructed world that features immortality, systems of succession, reproduction, social rank, divine law, and bureaucratic failure that shape normal lives, The Twelve Kingdoms creates an epic fantasy setting that feels brilliantly complete. Instead of treating its mythology as simple background material, the show dives into how these institutions influence every ruler, kingdom, and citizen, giving each bit of conflict an impressive amount of purpose. The Twelve Kingdoms‘ unwavering commitment to its thoughtful world-building is what truly makes it the perfect addition to this list, as it stands as an epic high fantasy that remains consistent in its high quality each episode.

‘The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power’ (2022–Present)

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is an intriguing high fantasy series that expands the iconic Lord of the Rings franchise. Set in Middle-earth, the show centers on multiple rulers and heroes as they confront the ever-growing threat of Sauron (Charlie Vickers) during the Second Age.

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is an easy pick for this list as every episode within it adds another piece to a rather grand fantasy history. The show produces an amazing thrill in almost every scene; even when its story is slow-moving, the setting carries a sense of mythic importance that keeps audiences completely captivated. From its ancient rivalries and political intrigue to its intricate cultures and sweeping landscapes, every chapter of the series stands as a significant expansion of Middle-earth while steadily building towards much larger conflicts. The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is a fantastic high fantasy that ensures each one of its episodes feels purposeful, rewarding, and worthy of the genre’s very best.

'Mormon Wives' Star Taylor Frankie Paul's 2023 Arrest Explained

Taylor Frankie Paul is speaking out after a judge ruled that the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star had successfully completed the terms of her three-year probation.

“Three years probation complete. All my [probation officers] said it was one of the longest probations they had seen for [a] first-time offense,” Paul, 32, wrote via Instagram on Friday, August 7. “Back then, I wasn’t even aware of what [domestic violence] was. Unfortunately, many will experience it as many already have.”

Us confirmed earlier on Friday that Paul was no longer on probation with a judge amending her aggravated assault felony charge to a Class A misdemeanor. She had been arrested in 2023 following an alleged altercation with then-boyfriend Dakota Mortensen. At the time, Paul pleaded guilty to assault as part of a plea deal to dismiss other charges pertaining to child abuse.

“DV is a sneaky cycle to get stuck in because by the time you realize what actually is happening you’re already stuck in it,” Paul stated on Friday. “I don’t care if you see me as the villain or victim. This all surfacing the way it viciously and vindictively did, has been hell on earth and if I didn’t have the support I have I don’t think I would have made it through.”

Details about Taylor Frankie Paul’s 2023 arrest have resurfaced in the wake of her latest scandal. News broke in March 2026 that Taylor and on-again, off-again boyfriend Dakota Mortensen were allegedly involved in a domestic dispute. In light of the video’s release, Taylor temporarily lost custody of Ever. She has since been awarded visitation rights from a judge, who also issued mutual protective orders to Taylor and Mortensen. (The now-exes must stay 100 feet away from each other at all times.)

“This has been a very toxic relationship. It’s beyond the pale in a lot of ways, the toxicity,” the judge said during an April hearing. “What I’ve seen from the evidence even post [the] last hearing, there seems to be a continuing attraction that they have for each other. … You guys have to figure out a lot here. You have to figure out how to function as coparents.”

Taylor Frankie Paul remains under probation with strict conditions for the 2023 charges that she pleaded guilty in abeyance to following an incident with her now-ex Dakota Mortensen. The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star, 31, had an audit conducted on her probation progress last year in February 2025, Us Weekly can confirm, during which […]

According to the judge, he was initially hesitant to rule on custodial arrangements for Ever.

“I’m hoping that you’re not people who just thrive on the drama and the conflict. You’ve got to put your child first and shield the child from this conflict,” the judge stated at the time. “I’m going to leave the current order in place. I need to think a little bit more about this lifting of supervision. I have mixed feelings about it.”

Taylor and Mortensen have each vehemently denied the accusations against themselves.

Amanda Kloots Says DWTS Contestants Reach Out ‘Every Year’

Published

What to Know About Season 35 of 'Dancing With the Stars' So Far: Cast, Premiere Date and More

Amanda Kloots may have hung up her ballroom shoes, but she’s always one to give advice to new contestants on Dancing With the Stars.

“I know a couple people [joining season 35] but that’s only because — it’s funny, people reach out when they’re like, ‘I’m thinking about doing this show. Should I do it?’” Kloots, 44, exclusively told Us while promoting her “Good Grief with Amanda Kloots” podcast. “I’m always like, ‘Yes, yes, you should do it. It’ll be the best, hardest thing you do, but it’ll be the best thing you ever do. I promise you, you will not regret it.’”

Kloots played coy about who reached out to her about the show, which has confirmed four contestants: Love Island’s Maura Higgins, Summer House star Ciara Miller, Savannah Bananas’ Jackson Olson and Jimmy Kimmel’s sidekick, Guillermo Rodriguez. ABC has yet to disclose more celebrities or pros competing on the series, which is set to premiere on September 15.

“Pretty much every year after I’ve done the show, I’ve had somebody reach out going, ‘OK, did you really like this? Did you really have a good time?’ And I’m always like, ‘If you do not sign up for that show, you’re really missing the boat,’” she said.

The Dancing With the Stars ballroom is filling up fast for season 35. While simultaneously confirming the reality competition’s renewal, Hulu shared during the Get Real House event in April that Summer House’s Ciara Miller and Love Island star Maura Higgins would be lacing up their dancing shoes. The following month, Savannah Bananas second baseman Jackson […]

Kloots appeared on season 30 of the hit ABC competition show, where she was partnered with Alan Bersten. The pair ultimately placed fourth and lost to champions Iman Shumpert and pro Daniella Karagach. Kloots, however, would be game to try her hand at an all-star season.

“I would be there. I’m sure [casting director and executive producer] Deena Katz and ABC know that I would be there in a heartbeat,” she told Us. “I mean, it would be a dream come true. I’m so proud of that show.”

Kloots went on to gush about the series recently receiving an Emmy nomination, which she said was “so well deserved” given its “wonderful atmosphere.”

“Everybody’s rooting for each other,” she said. “There’s no jealousy or cattiness or fights or mean spirited. Everybody’s there to help each other. It’s such a wonderful experience. I would love to go back.”

While not quite an all-star season, Kloots did return to the ballroom for DWTS Con in Palm Springs earlier this month and performed a number alongside Bersten, 32, and former champ Hannah Brown.

“It was so fun, oh my gosh!” Kloots said. “I love that show so much and dancing has always been a part of my life. But then I packed my shoes away. When I got to do that show, it was such a part of my healing journey. I am forever grateful. So to be back with that family — and I say family because they are all those pros are incredible and they now have children. Everybody’s in the dressing room and playing with everybody, and they’re all so kind and so supportive and they work so hard. Then all the celebrities that came back are like me, they just love this show so much and have been so grateful to be a part of it. It’s just sort of like this big love fest amidst this crazy dancing.”

Days after appearing at the fan convention, Kloots launched the “Good Grief With Amanda Kloots” podcast with Dear Media. Kloots, whose husband Nick Cordero died in 2020 after facing COVID-19 complications, hopes to feature candid conversations about facing significant changes in life. (Kloots and Cordero shared son Elvis, whom they welcomed in 2019.)

“It’s been six years since I lost my husband. I do a lot of therapy, from science-backed therapy to very woo-woo — I live in Los Angeles, so I’ve done almost all of it,” she shared. “It was in this last year that I had this kind of turnaround in therapy with my relationship to grief.”

Kloots explained that she helps “a lot of widows” who she takes “under [her] wing and try to help because widows did that” for her when she was “newly grieving.”

“We all talk about how to survive grief in the beginning, but we don’t really talk about the beauty and the things that grief can teach us because we live with it,” she noted. “We live with it for the rest of our lives. It isn’t going anywhere, which was my misconception. I thought I could heal it, and I’d get my graduate certificate. And it isn’t that. It’s how you learn to live with it, and most importantly, how you can learn to love yourself again in this grief. So that’s hopefully the message of the podcast.”

Anthony Michael Hall Reveals John Hughes Had Plans for a Breakfast Club Sequel

Published

on

Anthony Michael Hall Reveals John Hughes Had Plans for a Breakfast Club Sequel

More than 40 years after The Breakfast Club first brought five very different teenagers together for a Saturday detention, Anthony Michael Hall has revealed that director John Hughes once envisioned bringing the group back together as adults.

Hall, who played Brian Johnson, “the brain,” in the beloved 1985 film, recently recalled one of his final conversations with Hughes. During that conversation, the filmmaker reportedly discussed an idea for a sequel that would reunite Brian, Claire, Bender, Allison and Andrew years after their unforgettable day at Shermer High School.

According to Hall, Hughes imagined catching up with the characters when they were in their 30s and had entered the working world.

“He was talking about the idea of doing a sequel and having us all be in our 30s and in the workplace,” Hall recalled.

The concept would have offered a fascinating continuation of the original film. The Breakfast Club centered on five students from completely different social circles who slowly discovered that the labels placed on them did not tell the full story of who they were.

Hall starred alongside Molly Ringwald, Judd Nelson, Ally Sheedy and Emilio Estevez, portraying the brain, princess, criminal, basket case and athlete respectively.

Ashlee Rezin/Sun-Times

Rather than simply repeating the detention setup, Hughes’ proposed sequel could have explored how those same characters changed as they entered adulthood. The pressures of popularity, parents and high school expectations could have been replaced by careers, relationships and the realities of adult life.

Unfortunately, the movie never materialized.

Hall said the conversation took place around 1988 and also included John Candy, another frequent Hughes collaborator. It remains unclear how far Hughes ever developed the idea or whether a completed screenplay exists.

The revelation is particularly interesting because talk of another Breakfast Club movie has surfaced several times over the years. Molly Ringwald previously suggested she had heard that Hughes had written some form of follow-up, while other reports have claimed the filmmaker considered different ways of revisiting the characters.

Hughes died in 2009 at the age of 59, leaving any potential continuation without the filmmaker who created the original.

Despite never receiving a sequel, The Breakfast Club has maintained an enormous cultural presence since its release on February 15, 1985. Made for roughly $1 million, the movie earned more than $50 million worldwide and became one of the defining coming-of-age films of the 1980s.

The Breakfast Club [universal pictures]

The five principal cast members also reunited publicly in 2025 for the movie’s 40th anniversary at C2E2 in Chicago, marking the first time Hall, Ringwald, Nelson, Sheedy and Estevez had all appeared together at the same convention.

Whether Hollywood would ever attempt a modern continuation remains unknown. There is currently no officially announced Breakfast Club sequel in development.

Still, Hall’s story offers fans a glimpse at what might have been. Instead of leaving Brian, Claire, Bender, Allison and Andrew behind in that library, Hughes apparently wondered the same thing audiences have wondered for decades:

What happened to the Breakfast Club after detention ended?

The creamy formula effortlessly camouflages dark circles, redness, discoloration and blemishes while maintaining a natural, skin-like finish that never appears flat or mask-like. Better yet, it’s buildable, so you can apply a sheer layer for everyday wear or add more in targeted areas without worrying about it becoming cakey.

The skincare-infused formula is another reason it’s become such a cult favorite. Dior formulated the concealer with floral extracts to help keep skin feeling hydrated and comfortable throughout the day, making it especially appealing for anyone with dry or mature skin. Instead of emphasizing texture or settling into fine lines as the hours pass, it maintains a fresh, radiant look that leaves the complexion appearing smoother and more awake.

Application is just as effortless thanks to its oversized doe-foot applicator. The plush wand deposits enough product to quickly cover larger areas like under the eyes, around the nose and across the chin while still allowing for precise spot concealing. Many beauty lovers even skip foundation altogether, using a few strategically placed swipes of the concealer wherever they want extra coverage before blending with a sponge, brush or fingertips for an incredibly natural finish.

One mature-skinned Nordstrom shopper said “covers all my dark spots,” while another said it “gives a natural look” and is “very blendable.”

‘Reacher’ Is Officially Moving Away From Its Winning Formula With Season 5’s Book

Published

on

Alan Ritchson on the phone in 'Reacher.'

Reacher Season 4 is about to debut on Prime Video, but fans already know which of Lee Child‘s books Season 5 will adapt. This news, accompanied by the announcement that Season 5 has officially begun production, confirms that Reacher will be breaking away from the formula previously established by recent seasons. Based on the book’s plot alone, it has the potential to be the show’s darkest storyline yet for its lead, played by Alan Ritchson.

What Is ‘Make Me’ About?

Make Me, the twentieth book in Child’s Jack Reacher series, opens with the wayward Reacher arriving in a small Midwestern town — the name of which, Mother’s Rest, immediately piques his interest. After receiving strange treatment from the locals, Reacher senses that something is amiss and tries to figure out what’s really going on. He soon uncovers a dark, macabre mystery unlike anything he has faced in previous adventures. Without getting into spoilers, Make Me features a very intense plot, as Reacher investigates unsavory activities in Mother’s Rest.

‘Reacher’ Season 5 Is Making a Major Change for the Series

Make Me revolves around a plot that’s very different from the books previously adapted for Reacher. The first three seasons of the show have included very personal stakes for the titular lead, including the murder of Reacher’s older brother, Joe (Christopher Russell), the deaths of some of his former teammates in the 110th Special Investigations Unit, and the murder of his first protégé, Dominique Kohl (Mariah Robinson).

Across every season of Reacher that has aired to date, Reacher gets involved in exacting vengeance for the death of a friend or loved one, but Make Me doesn’t feature those same personal stakes. When Reacher arrives in town and recognizes something is wrong, he simply takes it upon himself to seek justice. Additionally, the small-town Midwestern setting sets Make Me apart from previous seasons, distinguishing Season 5 from a sweltering Georgia in Season 1, New York City and Atlantic City in Season 2, coastal Maine in Season 3, and Philadelphia in Season 4. Reacher consistently benefits from switching up locations each season, and Season 5 will maintain that tradition.

‘Make Me’ Is Another Standalone Reacher Story

Make Me may represent a diversion from the winning formula of Reacher’s first three seasons, as it doesn’t involve the eponymous hero carrying out a personal vendetta, but Season 5 will still revolve around another standalone adventure. Make Me is actually the twentieth Jack Reacher installment written by Child, but many of the books can be read in any order. For example, Reacher Season 4 is adapted from the thirteenth book, Gone Tomorrow, so the Prime Video series is now jumping ahead in the novels’ timeline.

Reacher generally avoids serialized elements and recurring characters, aside from Francis Neagley (Maria Sten), who pops up frequently within the first three seasons, as well as a brief cameo from Malcolm Goodwin‘s Detective Oscar Finlay in Season 2. Despite those aforementioned moments, the beauty of Reacher‘s storytelling comes from tightly focused storylines that aren’t necessarily concerned about building to future seasons. 2026 already marks a major year for the franchise, with Season 4 set to premiere on August 12 on Prime Video. After Season 4 concludes, Neagley, the franchise’s first-ever spin-off, debuts on September 16, with Ritchson reprising his role as a guest star opposite Sten as Neagley.

LeBron James’ Wife Recalls Employee Being Fired

LeBron James' Wife Recalls Employee Being Fired

LeBron James‘ wife, Savannah James, recently revealed that an employee at a luxury store was fired after she allegedly failed to serve her and her friend. On an episode of her podcast, “Question Everything,” Savannah said she and a friend were refused service despite having a scheduled appointment.

Speaking with her co-host, April McDaniel, both ladies recalled the time they went shopping in Italy and were allegedly turned away at the door of the Hermès store.

“We be hustling,” McDaniel said, adding that when they got to the store, they were “treated like sh-t.”

When their guest asked the ladies to share more, McDaniel revealed that a saleswoman had allegedly turned her and Savannah away despite their appointment. They shared even further that the saleswoman was fired after McDaniel said, “We’ll be back for you. I’ll be right back.”

Savannah said that the pair had an appointment and the saleswoman allegedly acted like there was something shady about the situation. “I said baby you caught the wrong one today,” McDaniel said, revealing that Savannah is nicer than she is.

LeBron James’ Wife Was Able To Shop After Her Friend Made A Few Calls

As the episode continued, Savannah revealed that she and McDaniel eventually made it into the store and, once inside, requested to see crocodile leather pieces. “They brought out everything,” Savannah said.

McDaniel, meanwhile, said she spent a pretty penny in the store on several luxury items, including bathing suits, silverware, and purses.

Unfortunately for the pair of friends, that wasn’t their only negative experience while shopping at luxury stores abroad. They shared that they were also treated poorly at the Chanel store in France, adding that an employee allegedly chastised Savannah for touching a bag that was out and available for viewing.

Despite some negative interactions, McDaniel said it’s never stopped her from enjoying her time. “I’m calling the boss,” she said. “We’re closing the store down. She can go like that. I’m closing it down. You’re fired. That’s the last person… I’m heated, I’m ruining the whole situation.”

Sadly, Savannah isn’t the only celebrity who has been mistreated while shopping abroad at some of the world’s most luxurious stores. According to ABC News, talk show host and ultra-wealthy celebrity Oprah Winfrey allegedly received similar treatment at Paris Hermès in 2005.

The “Oprah” show host arrived at the store 15 minutes after closing, which is normal for high-profile celebrities so that they’re not bombarded by fans and the media, and was turned away at the door. While Hermès apologized, the situation was difficult for the “Color Purple” actress.

Just a few years later, when Oprah was asked about racism and the use of the N-word, Oprah said that racism shows up in different ways, and she noticed it after being treated poorly in Zurich.

While shopping abroad, Oprah was told by a sales clerk at a luxury store that she couldn’t afford a pricey handbag. “I say to the woman, ‘Excuse me, may I see that bag right above your head,’” Oprah said, to which the woman allegedly replied, “No, it’s too expensive.”

The Swiss Tourism office apologized to Oprah and said the saleswoman “acted terribly wrong.”

Serena Williams Was Allegedly ‘Denied’ Service In Paris

During the Olympic Games in Paris in 2024, tennis legend Serena Williams said she was “denied” access to a fancy rooftop eatery in an “empty restaurant” during their stay.

Williams implied that she’d never experienced that kind of treatment before, writing, “Always a first.”

Paris Eatery Clarifies Issue With Williams Following Public Condemnation

The Paris restaurant, The Peninsula, responded to Williams’ public condemnation and apologized for her experience at the establishment.

“Unfortunately, our rooftop bar was indeed fully booked and the only unoccupied tables you saw belonged to our gourmet restaurant, L’Oiseau Blanc, which was fully reserved,” they added. “We have always been honored to welcome you and will always be to welcome you again.”
