8 Most Perfect Movies of the Last 11 Years, Ranked

Published

on

Batman & Catwoman talk rooftop

The past decade has been incredibly fruitful when it comes to film; to translate it into meme language, “We are so back” when it comes to great cinema. New filmmakers emerged with incredibly creative ideas, while established names have seemingly achieved their collective magnum opus, delivering some of their strongest and most powerful works in recent years.

The last ten years (plus one) have been very exciting as cinematic boundaries were often moved, Oscar records were broken, and the landscape of cinema changed with the wider resurrection of 70mm film and the awakening of streaming. Without further ado, here are the eight most perfect movies of the last 11 years, ranked by their impact, general critical consensus, and perhaps a touch of personal preference.

‘The Batman’ (2022)

Batman & Catwoman talk rooftop Image via Warner Bros. Pictures

The Batman is an incredible neo-noir action film that has taken everyone by surprise. It’s only surpassed by the secrecy and magnitude of its still-in-production sequel, but we mustn’t forget it’s a film that carries its own weight. While the long runtime may have deferred some people from undertaking the feat of watching this DC Comics-based film, the runtime is barely felt throughout; there are true moments of filmmaking ingeniosity, including the stunning cinematography and skilled editing. The performances are strong, heavy, and felt throughout, with particular praise to Colin Farrell, who still manages to give Oz Cobb, aka The Penguin, a massive personality underneath a ton of prosthetics and makeup.

The Batman focuses on the vigilante’s detective side a lot more than his physical heroics; Bruce Wayne/Batman is portrayed by Robert Pattinson, and he finds himself at a crossroads in Gotham: protect the innocent or persecute the corrupt? The Riddler (Paul Dano) does him the service of the latter by targeting seemingly random officials and leaving messages for the Batman throughout. The film describes Gotham as a seedy urban landscape filled with reprehensible people—and at the same time, as a place full of innocent folks falling victim to the minority of those sitting greedily in their local government. Whether or not there is a sequel, The Batman is perfect as a standalone film, too; you don’t have to be a fan of comics or superhero stories to enjoy the film, which is probably the best part of all. It explains and introduces its characters with clarity, paving the way for how we see vigilante-themed cinema.

‘Midsommar’ (2019)

Many would deem Ari Aster‘s feature film debut, Hereditary, a better film, but Midsommar is a perfect sophomore feature for this horror director and one of the most perfect films of the decade. It’s been a wonderful decade for horror; one of the greatest directors of our time, Robert Eggers, has been especially dominant in the horror-fantasy landscape, and filmmakers like Coralie Fargeat, Danny and Michael Philippou, and Damian McCarthy have helped re-establish horror as a sentimental genre. Any true fan of horror understands that the scary stuff is rooted in trauma, social conditioning, and pain, and so presenting themes of loss and grief through horror isn’t anything new. Like a Newton’s cradle that stopped moving back and forth, Aster pulled the first ball and gave that sentimentally scary machine momentum to keep going once again.

Midsommar follows Dani (Florence Pugh), a young woman who loses her entire family in a tragic murder-suicide. Dani has been dating Christian (Jack Reynor) for a while, but their relationship has grown cold, and her grief seems to take them further apart. When their friend, a native Swede named Pelle (Vilhelm Blomgren), invites Dani, Christian, and their two friends Josh (William Jackson Harper) and Mark (Will Poulter) to a traditional week-long celebration of midsummer in his ancestral commune named Hårga, they all agree to go. Dani becomes the first to realize that the Hårga have different, pagan-like customs and feels compelled to run and give in at the same time. Many call Midsommar a breakup movie, and it technically is; however, it’s a cathartic release of grief in the same sense, and though it does get downright unsettling, it’s a folk horror that feels deeply human.

‘Sentimental Value’ (2025)

Joachim Trier has an interesting ability to depict life with a lightness behind its inherent heaviness. No matter how long you watch or what is on-screen, there’s a sense of final optimism in his stories; themes like depression, generational trauma, grief, and avoidance are quite common for the director, but while you watch his protagonists, you get the uncanny sense that despite all the tragedy, things can end up well. With every unspoken word or a spoken cry for help, you feel seen by Trier’s films, especially if you’ve ever felt like one of the people in them. Sentimental Value won the Oscar for Best International Feature at this year’s Oscars, but its running for Best Picture overall was a genuinely justified nomination. Sentimental Value feels like you are truly watching three generations of the same family trying to resolve their shared trauma.

Sentimental Value follows the eldest daughter in her family, actress Nora (Renate Reinsve), whose film director father Gustav (Stellan Skarsgård) reappears in her and her little sister Agnes’ (Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas) lives after their mother’s death. Agnes lives with her husband and son in their childhood home, which has been in Gustav’s family for generations, and when they all find themselves under the same roof again, their memories intertwine with the trauma of each of their upbringings. It’s an incredibly moving film full of life; Reinsve brings to life a hurt woman who is still a little girl inside, while Skarsgård hits all the right notes as a father trying to mend his poor past. If you haven’t seen it, you simply must.

‘Aftersun’ (2022)

Speaking of father-daughter relationships, a film that must never be forgotten is Charlotte WellsAftersun. If there has ever been a feature capable of making you stop everything and have a good cry during the end credits, it is this one. While it celebrates the relationship of a teen girl and her young father, it also honors her memory of him that has undoubtedly grown into a trauma she can’t easily put behind her. Aftersun was apparently based on Wells’ life and relationship with her own father, allowing the director to resolve her trauma in some way; most of her work is based on some form of healing or opening of deep-seated grief. This film was Paul Mescal‘s breakthrough into the world and his first Oscar nomination; it was well-deserved because he is raw and vulnerable in it.

Aftersun follows 11-year-old Sophie (Frankie Corio) during the time she went on a holiday to Turkey with her 30-year-old father, Calum (Mescal). She records a big portion of the holiday on her camera, remembering how things really were in between; Calum seems loving but like a capacity to be fully present is missing. The film shows Sophie’s perspective and her making friends and being a child on holiday—as she should—but it often switches to Calum, who is pondering, changes his mind frequently, and wonders about life past thirty. Aftersun is a touching slow-burn that will undoubtedly make you emotional, at least; it’s beautifully made, obviously with lots of love and care for the protagonists, differentiating itself from a standard family drama in more ways than one.

‘Sinners’ (2025)

Sinners (1)

Sinners is the new record-setting film, celebrating 16 Oscar nominations, which is the most of any film (14 had been the norm so far). Ryan Coogler‘s fifth film is also his fifth collaboration with Michael B. Jordan—ahem, Oscar winner Michael B. Jordan—and with composer Ludwig Göransson. The trio has always been good, but it seems their friendship has left the biggest impact on Sinners, which has slowly turned into a movie of a grand, symbolic, and beautiful relevance. The storyline feels reminiscent of From Dusk Till Dawn, which Coogler cited as an inspiration, but Sinners dedicates its entire runtime to understanding the context of the villains, making the protagonists people worth defending and cheering for, and weaving tradition, heritage, culture, and social history within the narrative.

Elevated from a simple vampire slasher, Sinners carries the symbol of a musician whose musical skill can bridge the gap between the spirit world and the world of the living; that musician is young Sammie (Miles Caton), the son of a preacher who deems his blues singing sinful. Sammie is cousins with the Smokestack twins (both played by Jordan), who return to their Mississippi hometown from Chicago, ready to open a juke joint for the locals. In a whole different place, sinister spirits gather as Irish vampire Remmick (Jack O’Connell) turns a pair of Klan members into vampires, hears Sammie’s song from afar, and takes his thralls to him, hoping to feed. Sinners is an encapsulating experience that will not leave you behind for a while, and you will feel compelled, even invited in, to rewatch the film again and again.

‘Arrival’ (2016)

Arrival is, and I can’t say this enough, one of the most beautiful films ever made. Its use of science fiction to tell the story of fate and choice is an ingenious way to make the science feel closer and the fiction less fictional; Denis Villeneuve cements himself as a director to watch, although we already knew how brilliant he was thanks to Incendies, Prisoners, and Sicario. Arrival was based on the novella Story of Your Life by Ted Chiang, and it asks several questions throughout the film, one being is language or mathematics the universal language? and the other, more relevant one, if you knew how your life evolves from here on out, would you still make the same choices? It’s not just about those emotionally resonant themes either; Arrival is its own form of love letter to language, communication, and understanding.

Arrival is set in modern times, when twelve oval-shaped black alien ships appear across Earth, just hovering and neither making contact nor threats. Linguistics expert Louise Banks (Amy Adams) is hired by the US Military outpost in Montana, where a spaceship hovers, together with physicist Ian Donnelly (Jeremy Renner), and their task is to understand the spaceship. They enter it and find octopus-like creatures sending them signals like octopuses squirting ink, but the signals take the shapes of symbols and Louise and Ian realize it’s the aliens’ language. Arrival takes the hypothesis of linguistic relativity, which is the theory that language can affect a person’s worldview or cognition, placing it within the context of love and loss. I get emotional just writing about it because you can only imagine where the story can go; if you’re also a language enthusiast or a graduated linguist (ahem), Arrival will scratch a particular itch because it treats linguistics like the miracle that it is.

‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ (2015)

Mad Max: Fury Road is the greatest action film of the 21st century, and while this is highly subjective, critics and audiences haven’t shied away from giving George Miller‘s film this flattering title. Fury Road also still makes the cutaway, as it’s been exactly 11 years since it came out—I remember watching its premiere at the cinema so vividly that there’s no way a decade has passed. This is another testament to its enduring appeal—over ten years later, we still talk about and honor Fury Road as the best among the best. Achieved through mostly practical effects, location shoots, and an arduous editing process, Fury Road had actually been in the making since 1987, going through some seriously lengthy development hell. And yet, it seems like it came at the right time, providing Miller with enough technological and practical freedom in filmmaking to bring his vision to perfection.

Fury Road is set in the apocalyptic wasteland where water is a scarce commodity. One warlord, Immortan Joe (Hugh Keays-Byrne), holds monopoly over a massive water source, hoarding it for himself and his children; to avoid defective inheritors, Joe keeps a group of young, healthy women as his brides, forcing them to give birth to his successors. The War Rig driver, Furiosa (Charlize Theron), decides to escape Joe’s tyrannical hands and brings the brides along with her. She is aided by Max Rockatansky (Tom Hardy), Joe’s prisoner and a man with no land or home; what follows is a tireless, action-packed pursuit across the wasteland, showing us bravery in the face of danger. If you believe in freedom enough, you’ll understand it’s worth going through hell and back for it—Fury Road writes that message out like a line in the sand.

Parasite wasn’t just the first-ever Best Picture winner from South Korea, but also the first-ever non-English-speaking Best Picture winner, which was also accompanied by Best International Feature, Best Director, and Best Screenplay. That means that Parasite is literally the perfect package of a film, coming from the mind of a modern filmmaking genius, Bong Joon-ho. To some people, the Oscars aren’t the true measure of quality (which is understandable), but so many stacked accolades send a signal—a signal that this is a film to pay attention to; as director Bong said, to paraphrase, getting over the three-inch barrier of subtitles should be a priority if you truly wish to open your heart to cinema’s greats. Fun fact: the house that is heavily featured in Parasite isn’t real; it was built for the purpose of filming, and the levels it occupies were intentionally designed by Bong and production designer Lee Ha-jun to achieve a linear yet contrasting narrative structure.

Parasite follows the poor Kim family, who live in a subterranean apartment, mooch the neighbors’ Wi-Fi, and leave their windows open when a fumigator comes so they can “get free disinfection.” The Kims find themselves in a scheme where they infiltrate the lives of the wealthy Park family, mostly through their well-intentioned but snobbish and out-of-touch matriarch. The Kims and the Parks are depicted as a contrast between class structures in Korea, but also as a result of the imposed class structure; their behavior isn’t always inherent, with a lot of it coming from years of living within the system. Parasite will make you laugh, maybe even shed a short tear or two; it’s also terrifying in small doses, becoming a proper psychological thriller as it moves forward. A masterpiece that will not be so easily forgotten. In fact, let me go watch it again.

The best films leave a mark. What kind of mark do you want?

The Academy Has Decided
Your Perfect Film Is…
Advertisement

Your answers have pointed to one Oscar Best Picture winner above all others. This is the film that was made for the way your mind works.

Parasite

You are drawn to films that operate on multiple levels simultaneously — that begin in one genre and quietly, brilliantly migrate into another. Bong Joon-ho’s Parasite is a film about class, desire, and the architecture of inequality that manages to be darkly funny, deeply suspenseful, and genuinely shocking across a single extraordinary running time. Your instinct is for cinema that hides its true intentions until the moment it’s ready to reveal them. Parasite is exactly that — a film that rewards close attention and punishes assumptions, right up to its devastating final image.

Everything Everywhere All at Once

You want it all — and this film gives you all of it. The Daniels’ Everything Everywhere All at Once is one of the most maximalist films ever made: action comedy, multiverse sci-fi, family drama, existential crisis, and a genuinely earned emotional core that sneaks up on you amid the chaos. You are someone who responds to ambition, who doesn’t want cinema to choose between being entertaining and being meaningful. This film refuses that choice entirely. It is overwhelming by design, and its overwhelming nature is precisely the point — because the feeling of being crushed by infinite possibility is exactly what it’s about.

Oppenheimer

You are drawn to cinema on a grand scale — films that understand history not as a backdrop but as a force, and that place their characters inside that force and watch what happens. Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer is a film about the terrifying gap between what we can do and what we should do, told with the full weight of one of the most consequential moments in human history behind it. You want your films to feel important without feeling self-important — to earn their ambition through sheer craft and the gravity of their subject. Oppenheimer does exactly that. It is enormous, complicated, and refuses easy comfort.

Birdman

You are drawn to films that foreground their own construction — that make the how of the filmmaking part of the what it’s about. Alejandro González Iñárritu’s Birdman, shot to appear as a single continuous take, is cinema examining itself through the cracked mirror of a fading actor’s ego. You respond to formal daring, to the feeling that a film is doing something that probably shouldn’t be possible. Michael Keaton’s performance and Emmanuel Lubezki’s restless camera create something genuinely unlike anything else — a film that is simultaneously about creativity, relevance, self-destruction, and the impossibility of ever truly knowing if your work means anything at all.

No Country for Old Men

You are drawn to cinema that trusts silence, that refuses to explain itself, and that treats dread as a form of meaning. The Coen Brothers’ No Country for Old Men is a film about the arrival of a new kind of evil — implacable, arbitrary, and utterly indifferent to the moral frameworks we use to make sense of the world. It is one of the most formally controlled films ever made, and its controlled restraint is what makes it so terrifying. You want your films to haunt you, not comfort you. You are not interested in resolution if resolution would be dishonest. No Country for Old Men is honest in a way that most cinema never dares to be.

Kandi Burruss And Todd Tucker Go At It On Social Media

Published

on

Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker

Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker may have recently finalized their messy divorce, but that doesn’t mean that the exes are on the friendliest of terms.

The two recently traded words on social media, and based on the back-and-forth, things are less than amicable between them.

To promote Kandi Burruss’ upcoming show, “I Do. I Did. I’m Done,” the former “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star posted an Instagram video of her mother in the kitchen humming a familiar tune that long-time fans of the show will immediately recognize as being shade to Todd Tucker.

In the clip, Mama Joyce is humming the Motown classic “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough,” and video footage then features a flashback to “RHOA” when Mama Joyce told Tucker, “ain’t river high enough, ain’t no ocean deep enough, ain’t no desert hot enough, to keep me off your a— baby.”

Tucker caught wind of the shady video and dropped down in the comments to share his thoughts.

“They will use me until I’m all used up! And I was supposed to be the opportunist! Damn! Get your tickets!” he wrote.

Kandi then replied, “@todd167 please stop playing victim…wrong road…wrong road.”

Tucker wasn’t done and fired back, adding, “I’m not playing victim; we exploited our relationship on the way in, so we might as well do it on the way out. Get your tickets!”

Fans Responded To The Back-And-Forth Between The Exes

Over on Reddit’s BravoRealHousewives forum, fans expressed their opinions about the latest back-and-forth between the former couple.

“I thought their divorce was finalized and a settlement was reached,” one Redditor wrote. “What is the benefit of airing out dirty laundry at this point other than to be petty and make the family dynamics increasingly uncomfortable?”

“You know what bothers me the most about this entire thing? That Mama Joyce was right. Cos my god, I bet she is gloating like a motherf-cker right about now. She’s gotta be insufferable, probably dancing around and being a pill,” another shared.

“I’m sure that Todd sucks, but I also think that Kandi is really tacky. Not everything needs to be monetized, damn,” a third user commented.

“Todd could find any woman who was not on reality TV; however, he chose Kandi,” wrote another. “He was thirsty and an opportunist from the beginning.”

Per TMZ, Kandi Burruss agreed to pay Todd Tucker a $426,000 settlement in their divorce, while both parties agreed to split their credit card points.

Neither party will pay child or spousal support, and they will both share joint legal and physical custody.

Additionally, Burruss will keep her 2022 Bentley SUV, Cadillac Escalade, Ford F-250, Porsche Cayenne SUV, and a 1963 Chevrolet Camaro. Tucker will also have multiple vehicles per the settlement: a 2020 Mercedes G-Wagon, a 2020 Porsche 911, a 2023 Range Rover, a 1973 Ford Bronco, a 1963 Lincoln, and a Ford Transit Van.

According to the settlement, the former married couple also agreed to sell their food truck, while their real estate assets will be divided equally.

Burruss and Tucker’s settlement comes months after the reality star announced their separation shortly after BravoCon in November 2025.

“I’m stepping into a new chapter pouring into my work, my family, and my own growth. I’m grateful to everyone who supported us throughout the years, and I ask for privacy, grace, and understanding as we navigate this transition with our family,” she said at the time.

During a February 2026 appearance on Bravo’s “Watch What Happens Live,” host Andy Cohen asked the former “RHOA” star how long she had been considering divorcing Tucker.

“It happened in July. In July, I was like, ‘yeah, nah, I can’t do this anymore,” she said.

When asked if there was a specific instance that led to the dissolution of the marriage after 11 years, Burruss said there was. “Yeah, it was a specific situation that happened. I’m not talking about it on ‘Watch What Happens Live.’”

As for how Mama Joyce responded to the divorce news, Burress stated, “She had been pretty calm. She’s been trying not to say too much. Sometimes the internet, you know, conversation can get in her head.”

8 Netflix Fantasy Shows That Nobody Remembers

Published

on

Randall turning into a werewolf in The Order

Netflix is well known for its TV greats, and some of its fantasy shows are definitely the best, while others may be fantastic but aren’t very enduring. The platform has released several ambitious, genre-blending blasts that have sadly slipped far from attention. From amazing stories filled with magic and mystery to bold, dark reimaginings of classic myths, there are quite a few underappreciated fantasy gems that have faded so much that they have become almost misplaced in the vast TV landscape.

Fantasy series like the brilliant Norwegian Norse mythology reimagining Ragnarok and the abruptly canceled supernatural show Warrior Nun, which combines mythology, emotional storytelling, and action, are just two in the Netflix catalog that have become well-hidden gems. On this list are other such shows, unnoticed fantasies on Netflix that nobody seems to remember.

1

‘The Order’ (2019–2020)

The Order is an enchanting blend of secret societies, dark magic, and supernatural strife, set against a college backdrop. The series follows Jack Morton (Jake Manley) as he arrives at Belgrave University with the intentions of avenging his mother, only to wind up pledging to a secret magical society, where Alyssa Drake (Sarah Grey) becomes both his guide and moral complication.

The Order, during its run, wasn’t a very talked-about series, despite how addictive it was. The series has mostly been forgotten by Netflix subscribers, as it’s now overshadowed by more immersive hits with much more expansive worlds. Though The Order does have its flaws and is often noted only when it’s being dubbed disposable streamer pulp, its soapy supernatural story is quite captivating. Its concept is genuinely entertaining as it graduates from its derivative-looking YA packaging into a weird, funny, high-concept supernatural drama with sharper mythology than it initially appears to have. The Order may not be one of Netflix’s fantasy finest, but the show is quite compelling and deserved far more attention than it ever received.

2

‘Hilda’ (2018–2023)

This Netflix animated series delivers quite the captivating bout of whimsy and adventure. Hilda, an extremely enchanting fantasy series, centers on a fearless blue-haired girl named Hilda (Bella Ramsey), who leaves a wilderness of giants, elves, and spirits for Trolberg, a bustling city packed with new friends and mysterious creatures.

Hilda is too underappreciated for being such a charming series. With a soft animation style, the show explores a richly imagined fantasy world filled with wonder and mystery. Hilda carries an emotional weight that audiences tend not to expect, hidden beneath its gentle tone and warm visuals. Few shows even host a fraction of the animated series’ emotional intelligence, with its softness and sincerity that make it a standout in terms of tonal precision. Hilda is a storybook come to life, with a warmth and sweetness that isn’t overpowering, and a melancholy that isn’t dreary. The series may be mostly forgotten and frequently overlooked, but it is truly beloved by those who have seen it.

Warrior Nun is an underappreciated Netflix drama that combines high-energy supernatural action with religious mythology. The show focuses on Ava Silva (Alba Baptista), who wakes up from death in a morgue with a supernatural Halo embedded in her back and is instantly thrown into a chaotic battle against demons as she is now attached to the Order of the Cruciform Sword.

From its action to its character arcs, Warrior Nun is genuinely a captivating watch with a devoted fan following who have often expressed their frustration at the show’s abrupt cancellation after its second season. The series may not be very well-known, but it’s a balanced spectacle with emotional storytelling that leaves a lasting impression, despite its short run. Warrior Nun is honestly a lot less campy than its premise suggests, which garnered the series its loyal fanbase, as it turned out to be so much more than what viewers first expected. With the series cut short rather soon, it has consistently faded into the background, being replaced by bigger names in the fantasy lineup on Netflix.

Gollum

You carry something heavy — and you carry it alone, even when you don’t have to. You were not born for greatness, and that is precisely why greatness chose you. Your courage is not the roaring, sword-swinging kind; it is quiet, stubborn, and terrifying in its refusal to quit. The Ring weighs on you more than anyone can see, and still you walk toward the fire. That is not weakness. That is the rarest kind of strength there is.

You are, without question, the best of them. Not the most powerful, not the most celebrated — but the most essential. Your loyalty is not a trait; it is a force of nature. You would carry the person you love up the slopes of Mount Doom if it came to that, and we both know you’d do it without being asked. The world needs more people like you, and the world is lucky it has even one.

You were born to lead, and you have spent years running from it. The crown is yours by right, but you know better than anyone that right means nothing without the will and the worthiness to back it up. You are tempered by loss, shaped by long roads, and defined by a code of honour you hold to even when no one is watching. When you finally step forward, the world shifts. Because it was always waiting for you.

You have seen more than you let on, and you say less than you know — which is exactly as it should be. You are a catalyst: you do not fight the battles yourself, you ignite the people who can. Your wisdom comes not from books but from an age of watching what happens when it is ignored. You arrive precisely when you mean to, and your presence alone changes what is possible. A wizard is never late.

Graceful, perceptive, and almost preternaturally calm under pressure — you see things others miss and act before others react. You do not need to make a scene to be remarkable; your presence speaks for itself. You are loyal to those you choose to stand beside, and that choice is not made lightly. You have lived long enough to know that the most beautiful things in this world are also the most fragile, and that is why you fight to protect them.

You are loud, proud, and absolutely formidable — and beneath all of that is one of the most fiercely loyal hearts in Middle-earth. You don’t do anything by half measures. Your friendships are forged like iron, your grudges run as deep as mines, and your courage in battle is the kind that makes legends. You came into this fellowship suspicious of everyone and ended it willing to die for an elf. That is not a small thing. That is everything.

You think in centuries and act in absolutes. Order, dominion, control — not because you are cruel by nature, but because you have decided that the world left to itself always falls apart, and you are the only one with the vision and the will to hold it together. You were not always this. Something was lost, or taken, or betrayed, and the version of you that stands now is the answer to that wound. The tragedy is that you’re not entirely wrong — just entirely too far gone to course-correct.

You are a study in contradiction — pitiable and dangerous, cunning and broken, capable of both cruelty and something that once resembled love. You are defined by loss: of innocence, of self, of the one thing that gave your existence meaning. Two voices war inside you constantly, and the tragedy is that the better one sometimes wins, just not often enough, and never at the right moment. You are a warning, yes — but also a mirror. We are all a little Gollum, given the right ring and enough time.

‘Luna Nera’ (2020)

This darker, more atmospheric take on witchcraft and folklore explores magic through a grounded and eerie lens. Set in historical Italy, Luna Nera follows a teenage midwife named Ade (Antonia Fotaras) as she is accused of witchcraft, and is pulled between the women of a hidden magical lineage and the forbidden tenderness of Pietro (Giorgio Belli).

With a mix of supernatural elements and historical drama, Luna Nera delivers quite the story in an impeccably striking way. Its tone and visuals make it a solid standout among Netflix’s fantasy collection, as it delivers a truly haunting narrative that lingers beyond its runtime. Luna Nera may not be one of the streaming platform’s true champions of the fantasy genre, but it holds its own, even with its minuscule following. Luna Nera is a constantly overlooked gem that has slipped under the radar often enough that, sadly, most hardly remember it exists.

‘Cursed’ (2020)

Cursed brilliantly delivers the reimagining of an Arthurian legend using a darker and more character-driven approach. The bold series centers around the teenage sorceress, Nimue (Katherine Langford), as she embarks on an intense journey to deliver to Merlin a powerful and ancient sword.

Cursed is one of Netflix’s most ambitious fantasy series. Its bold vision made it an easy favorite for those who took a chance on it. Sadly, the series didn’t get an opportunity to manifest its potential due to a rather abrupt cancellation after its first season. Cursed was a clear contender for expansion, with its richly built world that was truly ready for deeper exploration. Today, the series sadly sits on Netflix’s shelf of unknown watches that have been forgotten by most fantasy enthusiasts.

6

‘Locke & Key’ (2020–2022)

This cult favorite is as underrated as they come. The Netflix fantasy series Locke & Key focuses on the Locke family — Tyler Locke (Connor Jessup), Kinsey Locke (Emilia Jones), and Bode Locke (Jackson Robert Scott), along with their mother, Nina Locke (Darby Stanchfield) — after the murder of their father, Rendell Locke. They move into their ancestral home, Keyhouse, where they discover several magical keys that unlock different abilities, as well as very dark secrets.

Locke & Key delivers a truly epic fantasy that has unfortunately never gotten the attention it deserves. With a strong mix of emotional storytelling and tons of supernatural elements, the show makes for some pretty great TV. Locke & Key is one of Netflix’s most beloved underrated treasures that has gained a decent-sized loyal following. It may lie largely overlooked and go mostly unknown to the platform’s subscribers, but it remains an extremely entertaining entry that keeps viewers engaged from beginning to end.

7

‘Ragnarok’ (2020–2023)

Ragnarok is an exceptionally ambitious reimagining of Norse mythology in a modern-day setting. The Norwegian fantasy drama centers around awkward teen Magne (David Stakston) in the polluted town of Edda, as he discovers he is the reincarnation of Thor and must battle the Jutuls — a family of giants who are disguised as humans set on destroying the environment.

Ragnarok is a genuinely captivating fantasy series, one of Netflix’s best. While most have no idea the show actually exists, and many of its past viewers have forgotten that it sits on the streaming platform’s fantasy shelf, Ragnarok is still extremely cherished by the few who took a chance on it and were truly captivated by the Nowiegien gem. Ragnarok stands as a fantastic modern fantasy that has unfortunately quietly slipped past many viewers, but it does remain as a unique take on a well-known mythology and continues to resonate through its strong performances, grounded storytelling, and a thoughtful reimagining of Norse legends in a contemporary setting.

‘Disenchantment’ (2018–2023)

This ironically enchanting watch is probably one of Netflix’s most underrated adult animated series ever. Set in the wondrous medieval kingdom of Dreamland, Disenchantment follows the wild, rebellious, alcoholic Princess Bean (Abbi Jacobson) as she and her odd companions navigate magical conspiracies, chaotic adventures, and complex family dynamics.

With a compelling combo of sharp humor and thrilling fantasy, Disenchantment delivers a quirky series that deserves far more attention than it’s ever received. The show is a unique watch that leans more into a slower, serialized fantasy with a surprisingly melancholic tone, which is actually very entertaining for an animated series. Disenchantment may not be what most viewers would expect from an animated fantasy, which has led to a lack of consistent viewership, but the show’s willingness to take risks and tell a more layered story makes it an underrated good-time that is heavily appreciated by diehard fantasy fans.

Nicolas Cage Channels ‘Bosch’ in Intense New Trailer for Spider-Man Detective Series

Published

on

spider-noir-poster.jpg

2026 is about to show viewers many different sides of their favorite web-slinger. Only three months remain before Tom Holland returns to the big screen for his darkest outing as Peter Parker yet in the much-anticipated Spider-Man: Brand New Day. This fall, the character will also be back in animated form with Disney+’s Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Season 2, introducing a plethora of fan-favorites from Peter’s life, like Gwen Stacy, Venom, and another appearance from Charlie Cox as Daredevil. Before any of those, however, it’ll be Ben Reilly’s turn to step out of the shadows with Spider-Noir premiering on May 25.

With exactly one month remaining before Nicolas Cage makes his live-action debut as the troubled super-detective, the Prime Video and MGM+ series has traveled to CCXP Mexico in Mexico City. Attendees were treated to a new trailer that has now appeared online, teasing the complicated and deeply dangerous web Ben will have to navigate as 1930s New York’s only superhero. The footage features a version of the city ripped right out of a classic noir film, complete with a down-on-his-luck detective with a penchant for monologuing and a tragic past. As he digs into a new case, he’s haunted by the death of his wife, and his personal journey will revolve around his attempts to move past that and be the protector the people need, even if he’s lost a step.

This latest look particularly serves to highlight Spidey’s imposing rogue’s gallery and how they’ve become more terrifying than ever in this gritty noir setting. Chief among them is Silvermane, played by Oscar nominee Brendan Gleeson, a crime boss who offers a sort of twisted order amid the chaos and will match wits with the Spider. There are other “monsters” prowling the streets of New York, though, like Flint Marko, aka Sandman (Jack Huston), Lonnie Lincoln, aka Tombstone (Abraham Popoola), and, in a twist, the largely forgotten villain Dirk Leydon, aka Megawatt (Andrew Caldwell), who makes his first on-screen appearance ever in quite literally shocking fashion by frying Ben in front of a crowd of onlookers. There’s even a quick and terrifying look at what appears to be the live-action debut of Man-Spider biting at Reilly’s arm. This investigation will clearly take him to dark places that, so far, no Spider-Man adaptation has dared.

Queens, New York

🕷️ Spider-Man

You carry the weight of the world on shoulders that are younger than they should have to be — funny, loyal, and endlessly self-sacrificing.

  • You do the right thing not because it’s easy, but because no one else will.
  • You understand that responsibility isn’t a burden you choose — it’s one that finds you.
  • Whether it’s a neighbourhood mugging or a multiverse crisis, you show up.
  • Peter Parker’s lesson — that great power demands great responsibility — isn’t a slogan to you. It’s the code you live by, even when it costs you everything.

Hell’s Kitchen, New York

😈 Daredevil

You fight in the shadows between law and chaos, guided by a fierce moral compass that refuses to let the guilty walk free.

  • You use every tool available — your mind, your body, your faith — to protect those the system overlooks.
  • You’ve looked into the darkness and chosen not to become it, though the line has never been easy.
  • Matt Murdock’s duality — champion in the courtroom, devil in the alley — mirrors your own.
  • Relentless, conflicted, and unwilling to stop. That is exactly you.

Stark Industries, Malibu

🤖 Iron Man

Brilliant, driven, and occasionally insufferable — but always the person who solves the unsolvable problem.

  • You lead with your mind and back it up with resources, innovation, and a stubbornness that borders on heroic.
  • You started out looking out for yourself, but somewhere along the way the world became your responsibility.
  • Tony Stark’s arc — from ego to sacrifice — is your arc too.
  • You build, you plan, and when the moment comes, you’re willing to give everything. Because in the end, you’re Iron Man.

New York City

💀 The Punisher

You’ve been through fire that would break most people — and it did change you, completely. What’s left is unyielding, relentless, and operating by a code forged in grief.

  • You don’t ask for forgiveness, and you don’t expect gratitude.
  • You see a corrupt, broken world and you’ve decided to do something about it, consequences be damned.
  • Frank Castle’s war is born from love twisted by loss — and so is yours.
  • Uncompromising and unflinching — the world may not agree with your methods, but your conviction is absolute.

Asgard · Protector of the Nine Realms

⚡ Thor

Powerful, proud, and on a lifelong journey to become worthy of the legend you carry.

  • You lead with strength but have learned — sometimes painfully — that true greatness comes from humility and growth.
  • You’re larger than life, yet more vulnerable than you let on.
  • Thor’s story is one of transformation: from arrogant prince to worthy king, from isolated warrior to beloved protector.
  • You bring the storm when it’s needed — and the warmth when it matters just as much.

Brooklyn, New York · The Avengers

🛡️ Captain America

You believe in something bigger than yourself — and you fight for it even when the world has moved on and nobody else will.

  • You don’t bully the small guy, and you never stop when it gets hard.
  • Steve Rogers didn’t become a hero when he got the serum — he was always one. So were you.
  • Your strength isn’t in your fists; it’s in your refusal to compromise what’s right, no matter the cost.
  • In a world full of people taking the easy road, you’re the one who picks up the shield and stands up — every single time.

Who Else Will Swing Into ‘Spider-Noir’?

Another highlight of the new trailer is Sinners star Li Jun Li‘s Cat Hardy, playing the classic noir femme fatale. She comes to Ben in need of help finding a missing friend, but their entanglement may involve more than just business as she proposes they be “alone together.” Lamorne Morris and Karen Rodriguez round out the main cast, while the stacked guest roster features Lukas Haas, Cameron Britton, Cary Christopher, Michael Kostroff, Scott MacArthur, Joe Massingill, Whitney Rice, Amanda Schull, Amy Aquino, Andrew Robinson, and Kai Caster.

Although Cage first voiced Spider-Noir in the acclaimed Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, his series is set in a completely separate world with its own story to tell around Ben, rather than a darker Peter Parker. Co-showrunners Oren Uziel and Steve Lightfoot did, however, develop the series alongside Spider-Verse helmers Christopher Miller and Phil Lord and producer Amy Pascal. The first two episodes are also directed by two-time Emmy winner and Enola Holmes director Harry Bradbeer, who joins the rest of the creatives as an executive producer. Sony Pictures Television is producing.

Spider-Noir premieres on MGM+ in the U.S. on May 25, before releasing globally on Prime Video in its entirety on May 27, in black-and-white and True-Hue full color. Check out the new trailer in the player above.

Katy Perry Co-Star Speaks Out Amid Ruby Rose Claims

Published

on

Katy Perry performing

An actor who appeared in a Katy Perry music video, Josh Kloss, is revisiting a past incident amid Ruby Rose‘s recent sexual assault allegation against the singer. Kloss first went public with his claim in 2019, alleging that Perry exposed him at a party, and with Rose recently speaking out, he is again addressing the situation, sharing his perspective about what occurred more than a decade ago.

Josh Kloss met Katy Perry in 2010 when he portrayed the singer’s love interest in the music video for “Teenage Dream.” In an exclusive interview with Page Six, the actor recounted an incident at a party where Perry allegedly exposed his genitals in public.

In 2012, Kloss said he was invited to a party for Johnny Wujek, Perry’s costume designer, and he went along with his friend. As he approached the venue, the singer reportedly greeted him enthusiastically with a hug before pulling his pants and underwear down, exposing his genitals in front of other partygoers.

Kloss said he “freaked out” and felt humiliated, but Perry just laughed it off. “I want to get rid of the confusion because some people believe that if you pull someone’s pants down at a party you’re pranking them,” the actor said, but he didn’t think it was funny. He also said that he didn’t have the “horsing around” type of relationship with Perry.

“It’s interesting when you’re a man, you can’t complain because you should be tougher,” he added.

The Actor Publicly Accused Katy Perry In 2019

Kloss first came out publicly with his story in a 2019 Instagram video that has since been deleted. In it, he admitted that he had a crush on the “I Kissed a Girl” singer at that time. “As I turned to introduce my friend, she pulled my Adidas sweats and underwear out as far as she could to show a couple of her guy friends and the crowd around us, my p-nis. Can you imagine how pathetic and embarrassed I felt?” he said in the video, per Variety.

Elsewhere in the video, Kloss said, “Our culture is set on proving men of power are perverse. But females with power are just as disgusting.”

Kloss told Page Six that he tried talking about the incident with Perry by contacting her inner circle, but after the attempt failed, he stopped trying.

Kloss had been working as an actor and model before appearing in Perry’s music video, but gained wider attention after its release. He was even featured in a brief PEOPLE profile interview, where he was referred to as the “hot guy” from “Teenage Dream.”

The actor told Page Six that over the years, fans approached him, saying he was “lucky” and “fortunate” to have had the opportunity to work alongside Perry, but he didn’t feel that way due to his experience with her.

“She, who I should be grateful for, devalued and degraded me to the highest level in front of her closest peers. Why would I be grateful for that?” Kloss said, adding that he went public for the sake of his sanity. Kloss said he shared his story on Instagram just to make people stop making those types of comments.

After Kloss’ accusations in 2019, Wujek defended the singer, saying, “Katy would never do something like that. Another friend, jewelry designer Marsha Molinari, said Kloss was “obsessing” over the singer and revealed alleged text messages she received from the actor, asking to meet up with Perry and saying he wrote a song about her.

Following Kloss’ claim, Russian TV presenter Tina Kandelaki said a tipsy Perry attempted to kiss her at a party. A year before, the singer was also under fire for stealing “American Idol” contestant Bejamin Glaze’s first kiss. Glaze said he wouldn’t have agreed to a kiss had the singer asked, but Perry didn’t. “I was a tad bit uncomfortable. I wanted to save it for my first relationship,” he said.

In a 2020 interview with The Guardian, Perry was asked about the multiple sexual misconduct allegations against her. “I don’t comment on all the things that are said about me because if I chase that dragon, it would be about true and false-ing my whole life,” she said.

In early April, Australian actress Ruby Rose accused the singer of sexually assaulting her at a club in 2010, as The Blast previously reported. Rose alleged that Perry rubbed her genitals on her face, and she threw up. She filed a complaint with Australian authorities, and they confirmed that they were investigating the incident.

Upon learning of Perry’s alleged behavior, Kloss said, “Sounds exactly like her. And that looks exactly like what I know about her.”

Rihanna Seemingly Addresses Baby Rumors, Talks "Little Pouch"

A cryptic message shared online has fans speculating about a breakup and ongoing relationship issues, with Megan Thee Stallion now at the center of the conversation. The post quickly spread across social media, with people dissecting the emotional message and reading between the lines to speculate on what may have gone wrong behind the scenes. While no names were mentioned, fans didn’t need much convincing and quickly began connecting the dots and interpreting it as the end of her relationship.

Did Megan Thee Stallion Reveal That Klay Thompson Cheated?

In an Instagram Story shared on Saturday, Megan posted a black background with bold white text detailing frustrations in a relationship, including claims of cheating, “playing house” with family present, and emotional strain during basketball season. She also referenced dealing with “HORRIBLE mood swings” and being left questioning commitment, before ending the message with a blunt sign-off suggesting she needed a serious break. While she never named anyone, fans were quick to connect the dots and speculate that she may have been referring to her reported relationship with NBA star Klay Thompson, sparking widespread conversation across social media.

“Cheating, had me around your whole family playing house…got “cold feet” Holding you down through all your HORRIBLE mood swings and treatment towards me during your basketball season now you don’t know if you can be ‘monogamous’???? b*tch I need a REAL break after this one..bye yall,” she revealed.

The Internet Is NOT Letting This One Slide

As soon as the post caught wind, Roommates ran straight to The Shade Room’s Instagram comment section and went IN with reactions. Some said they were actually rooting for a wedding between the two. Meanwhile, others expressed shock and disappointment, saying they weren’t expecting this from Klay Thompson (allegedly). And of course, a few kept it light, declaring it officially “hot girl summer” season in the comments.

One Instagram user @josephhamir said, “Klay just [lost] all respect from me wtf, I was rooting for this one too. I just don’t understand…

Then, Instagram user @sydni_shee shared, “Yea, It’s hopeless ladies.. lol just hustle hard and look cute while doing it 😭😩

Meanwhile, Instagram user @brit_ta_ny added, “D*mn, I thought Klay was different, he was giving Russell Wilson vibes , hate to see it…

While Instagram user @xotanye wrote, “d*mn. the only faithful man left is my daddy & obama 😩😭”

But, Instagram user @smokyb0y said, “Yikes. I wouldn’t have even put this on the internet.

Finally, Instagram user @jadamartinique commented, “Ahhhh d*mn. Hot girl summer it issssss.

Umm…We Definitely Didn’t See This One Coming

We know, we know… Megan Thee Stallion didn’t technically name anyone, but the internet is already putting two and two together and asking who else this could possibly be about besides Klay Thompson. The timing is what’s throwing folks off, especially because just not too long ago, the two had fans in full “couple goals” mode after a cozy mirror selfie had Megan in cornrows. At the same time, Klay was seen gently caressing her face in a moment that had everyone saying “aww.” And let’s not forget the beachside birthday vibes for Klay’s 36th, where the pair looked fully locked in over oysters, charcuterie, and ocean views, with Megan even filming him mid–ocean swim. So now, with this latest post circulating, fans are side-eyeing the timeline heavy, and wondering what really shifted behind the scenes.

Kyle Cooke Suggests ‘Summer House’ Leaker ‘Seeks Counsel’

Published

Kyle Cooke posing with

Summer House” OG Kyle Cooke is issuing a warning to the person who leaked footage from the upcoming reunion special. In a video shared online, Cooke slammed the leaker, saying that their actions show a clear lack of respect for the cast who spent hours sharing their story. Continuing, Cooke suggested the person seek legal counsel after Bravo announced its plans to investigate the matter.

Cooke gave his “two cents” on the ongoing scandal surrounding the “Summer House” cast, revealing that Bravo “takes this very seriously.”

“They’re doing a full-blown cyber investigation. So, if you’re the one who leaked [it], you might want to seek cover or counsel,” he continued.

Cooke’s comments arrived hours after a clip of Ciara Miller confronting Amanda Batula at the reunion about her ongoing relationship with Miller’s ex, West Wilson, went viral.

Responding to the “wild” theories, Cooke said that he didn’t believe the leak came from anybody on the set.

“This was not a phone on set. Everybody — if you do have a phone on set, it’s stuck behind a pillow or a couch cushion. So, the cameras can’t see it. I don’t really see why anyone would gain [from] having leaked this. That goes for producers, crew, and Bravo,” he said.

Cooke Says The Leak Wasn’t A Cast Member

Continuing, Cooke explained that the leak likely came from a person loosely affiliated with the show who had access to a “live feed.”

“There’s only a couple different rooms with monitors. And, of course, then there’s the actual set. It kind of sounds like they were trying to be discreet because you can hear them fumbling their phone in the beginning and the end,” he said.

Cooke, who has been part of the Bravo family since 2017, said, “The audio itself, from all of the cast, sounds like it’s audio from our mics,” adding that there was “no way” it was from someone on stage.

The leaked audio clip, in which Miller labeled Batula a “snake,” has since been removed from most online forums. Despite that, a Bravo spokesperson revealed that the network wasn’t happy with what happened.

“This represents a serious breach of trust and a clear lack of respect for the cast, crew, and the integrity of the production process,” the statement read, according to The Blast. “We take this matter very seriously and have launched a full investigation and we will take appropriate action based on our findings.”

Bravo figurehead Andy Cohen also chimed in, admitting he was upset by the leak. “On my way to eye surgery and just reading about it. People laid their souls out emotionally for ten hours yesterday and its disgusting and illegal for someone to leak or distribute this,” he said.

He went on, calling the leaker “disrespectful” before pleading with the cast to let the rest of the “Summer House” season play out.

Miller Made A Shocking Revelation About Her Relationship With Wilson Months Ago On ‘Summer House’

Speaking of letting the season play out, a new sneak peek of next week’s “Summer House” episode shows Miller having a conversation with newcomer Mia Calabrese and confessing to still having feelings for Wilson.

“As weird as it is, I do feel like he is my person,” Miller said, per The Blast. “We have this really weird friendship, and it’s hard to ignore that, you know?”

“Everyone knows that I’m not the most warm and fuzzy person. I am warm. I might not be fuzzy, but I’m warm,” Miller continued. “I guess making up isn’t really my thing, but I’m trying to be less rigid, which is a theme of my summer, OK?”

The “Summer House” scandal began when fans started speculating about Wilson’s relationship with Batula. After denying the allegations, the pair confirmed their romantic connection online.

“We’ve seen the growing online speculation, so while this is still very new, we wanted to provide some clarity,” they wrote on Instagram. “It was never our intention to purposely hide anything. Given the complicated relationship dynamics involved and the scrutiny that comes with being on a reality show, we need a little space to process things privately before speaking on it.”

“Summer House” continues to air on Bravo on Tuesdays at 8 PM EST.

Woman Alleges Disturbing Find In Trader Joe’s Juice

According to court filings, Julee O’Neil says she purchased a 52-ounce bottle of Trader Joe’s Organic Orange Juice in June 2025 from the Portland location. Days later, while finishing the drink, she claims she felt what seemed like a large piece of pulp in her mouth, only to pull out what she described as the fingertip of a rubber glove. The complaint alleges she also feared the item may have contained part of a human finger and that she may have inadvertently swallowed additional material, leaving her gagging, nauseated, and experiencing a burning sensation in her mouth.

O’Neil says the discovery led her to seek urgent medical care due to ongoing symptoms, including nausea and discomfort. She also claims she notified Trader Joe’s in writing and requested a $10,000 settlement, which she says the company did not pay, prompting the lawsuit. The complaint now seeks $10,000 in damages, along with attorney’s fees and other costs, and O’Neil is requesting a jury trial as the case moves forward.

Meanwhile, court records show O’Neil has filed several prior personal injury-related lawsuits over the past decade, including cases involving car accidents, a retail slip-and-fall at Starbucks, and a massage therapy dispute. She settled several cases, while courts dismissed or dropped the rest before resolution. As for the current allegations, Trader Joe’s has not yet publicly responded, leaving the claims to unfold in court as the case continues to gain attention.
