Less than one year after D’Angelo died at age 51, his three children paid tribute to the soul icon at the 2026 BET Awards.

D’Angelo’s daughter, Imani, and her two brothers, Swayvo (born Michael Archer Jr.) and Morocco, kicked off the star-studded musical tribute on Sunday, June 28, with a sweet message about their late father.

“To the world, he was D’Angelo, to us he was just dad,” Imani began, before Morocco noted that the “Brown Sugar” crooner was their “biggest hype man and protector.”

Morocco continued, “One of the things that brought our father the most joy was performing with his band, The Vanguard.”

Swayvo, for his part, explained that it was only fitting that The Vanguard helped honor D’Angelo on Sunday.

“So, it’s only right that they’re here with us along with some other special guests to honor the man who meant the whole world to us,” Swayvo stated. “So, Pops, this one’s for you. Let’s do it!”

D’Angelo’s children were joined by Raye, Ari Lennox, George Clinton, BJ the Chicago Kid and Durand Bernarr to reminisce about the late singer’s discography.

Us Weekly confirmed in October 2025 that D’Angelo died after a battle with pancreatic cancer.

“The shining star of our family has dimmed his light for us in this life,” a family spokesperson told Us in a statement at the time. “After a prolonged and courageous battle with cancer, we are heartbroken to announce that Michael D’Angelo Archer, known to his fans around the world as D’Angelo, has been called home, departing this life today.”

D’Angelo is survived by his children, whom she shared with late singer Angie Stone, who died months earlier in  aMarch 2025 car accident. She was 63.

“I know you up there enjoying your god body 😂 I hope you got to see grandma and granddaddy,” Swayvo wrote via Instagram at the time. “I want you [to] know how proud I am [of] the person you are. I want you to know how much you inspired me every single day,you never failed me ever ever. You never were a burden to me EVER.”

North West’s latest Paris Fashion Week appearance has sparked an unexpected debate after rapper Skepta publicly criticized an interaction involving the 13-year-old. 

The British artist weighed in after watching footage of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s daughter greeting a man during a fashion show, arguing that the teen’s body language was ignored. 

His comments quickly gained traction online, with fans praising him for speaking up while others debated whether the encounter had been blown out of proportion.

Skepta did not hold back after seeing footage of North West attending the Vetements Menswear Spring/Summer 2027 show during Paris Fashion Week.

The clip showed the 13-year-old approaching a man, appearing to extend her hand for a handshake before the interaction turned into a hug. They then posed together for a photo.

Reacting to the moment on X, Skepta argued that North’s intentions were obvious. “A blind man could see she wanted a handshake,” he wrote, adding the abbreviation “KMT” to express his frustration.

Although the rapper admitted he generally avoids commenting on other people’s lives, he said that particular moment crossed a line.

“My fans know I try to stay out of [people’s] business but damn the way grown men, complete strangers, try to use North makes me sick,” Skepta added.

After one social media user questioned whether hugging someone had suddenly become offensive, Skepta clarified that his concern centered on North West’s body language.

“What are you talking about?! She is 13 years old, and she put her hand out for a handshake, you don’t ignore that. I can’t believe some these replies to my tweet,” he responded.

The discussion continued when another user suggested the young star had “basically skipped being a teenager” because of her celebrity upbringing and bodily choices, including having multiple piercings.

Skepta replied with an emotional plea. “WOW!! Protect your kids people. Protect your kids!” 

The 43-year-old also shared broader concerns about adults recognizing nonverbal cues. In another post, he said it was “sickening” that many people seemed unable to understand what he believed North had communicated without words.

According to Skepta, “Schools teaching French, German & English when really the language most people need to f***ing learn is ‘Body Language.’”

Many social media users sided with Skepta after his posts began circulating, particularly on Reddit’s pop culture discussion forums.

One commenter argued that it was troubling when someone outside a child’s family appeared more protective than those closest to her.

“When a completely unrelated and uninvolved person has more common sense, care and protective instinct for a child than that child’s parents, there’s something really wrong,” the user wrote per the Daily Mail.

Another person criticized the adults involved in the interaction. “Shame on these grown men for crossing very obvious boundaries. That’s a 13-year-old (!), no matter how famous her parents may be,” the fan noted.

Others praised Skepta for using his platform to speak out. “Glad to see an industry man calling this out,” one commenter wrote, adding that they were “appalled” by what they believed North was being exposed to without a parent present.

Another fan said Skepta’s comments reminded them that genuinely good people speak up when they witness behavior they believe is inappropriate rather than remaining silent.

A few days before North paid a heartfelt Father’s Day tribute to Kanye that quickly had fans pointing out just how much the father-daughter duo resemble one another. 

As reported by The Blast, she shared two nostalgic photos on her Instagram Stories, including one showing her standing beside the rapper in matching black face coverings and a protective-style vest emblazoned with “Donda,” mirroring the look Kanye famously adopted during the rollout of his 2021 album of the same name. 

North simply captioned the post, “Happy Father’s Day,” before sharing another throwback image of herself helping her dad prepare for one of his fashion shows. 

Both posts were accompanied by Kanye’s songs “Wolves” and “Say You Will,” making the tribute even more personal.

Love Island USA‘s Zach Georgiou jokingly declared his love for Kayda Bosse multiple times after they had sex in the communal bedroom.

The Sunday, June 28, episode showed Zach and Kayda having sex under the covers in the villa. He told her he loved her before walking it back — and he did the same the next morning after their recoupling.

She continued, “I’d also like to address the screenshots that have been going around online that have been falsified. What has been shared does not reflect the truth and it has never been in my character to discriminate against anybody’s skin color. I do want to say directly that I do not support racism or discrimination of any kind and I never have.”

Earlier this season, another contestant, Vasana Montgomery, was cut from the show after resurfaced social media posts showed her using a slur. Similar issues arose during season 7 last year, with Yulissa Escobar leaving days into the experience after clips of her using racial slurs on a podcast circulated online.

It might feel as if the multiverse is a relatively new concept; after all, Hollywood hasn’t been able to get enough of it over recent years. However, the concept actually dates back to 1950s quantum physics and has been appearing in popular culture ever since. It is, nevertheless, this past decade that has seen a boom in the multiverse’s popularity, most notably with the release of Spider-Man: No Way Home, the $1.9 billion blockbuster that stands as one of the highest-grossing movies of the 2020s.

In the film, fans were left picking their jaws up off the floor as Tom Holland‘s Peter Parker came face-to-face with a returning Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, with this no doubt a massive contributor to the film’s box office triumph. At the end of the film, Holland’s Parker is wiped from the memory of the world, leaving him to pick up the pieces on July 31 in Spider-Man: Brand New Day — “A forgotten Peter Parker lives alone as a full-time Spider-Man,” the synopsis for the movie reads, “until mounting pressure triggers a dangerous change and a powerful new enemy emerges.”

But before Brand New Day swings into theaters, the best multiverse movie of the decade is about to become available for free. Everything Everywhere All at Once, directed by the Daniels (Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert), soared to success in 2022, with its bonkers, existential blend of multiple genres praised by both critics and audiences. In fact, so successful was the film that it earned a staggering 11 Academy Award nominations and won 7, most notably in three of the four major acting categories and the coveted Best Picture. Starting July 1, you’ll be able to stream Everything Everywhere All at Once for free on Plex.

‘Everything Everywhere All at Once’ Broke a Box Office Record

Somehow, the Daniels managed to make this ambitious, visually stunning masterpiece for just $25 million. At the box office, the film smashed expectations and earned $145 million worldwide, split between a domestic haul of $77 million and a further $68 million from overseas markets. This was enough to make the film A24’s highest-grossing of all time, although that record has since been broken and is currently held by the recent viral horror hit Backrooms.

While accepting her Icon of the Year award at the 2026 BET Awards ceremony, Teyana Taylor got candid about her thoughts on such a loaded title.

“Tonight they handed me a title and that title is Icon of the Year and for a little minute I wondered if I was supposed to feel uncomfortable saying that title out loud,” Taylor, 35, said after accepting the award from — an appropriately fangirling out in front of — the one and only Janet Jackson during the Sunday, June 28, ceremony.

“But nah, I worked my ass off 20 years for this,” she continued. “So I’m not accepting what I have earned with arrogance. I am accepting what I have earned with gratitude. In this year alone I continued to give the world the artist, actress, director, choreographer, creative director, stylist, designer, writer, producer and chef — I graduated September ya’ll.”

She added, “Most of my career has been spent building my own dream while helping somebody else build there’s because I believe there is room for all of us to win even if that means pouring from my own cup into someone else’s so they can overflow. Not because I have to but because that’s just who I am. That’s pretty damn iconic if you ask me.”

Chrissy Teigen has defended her decision to share a slew of pictures via social media that expose her nipple through a sheer shirt.

“I think because they have been cut into disks and reattached to my body like three times and also they’ve fed babies and stuff, I really don’t think of nips (mine especially) as sexy or risqué but my apologies if you do,” Teigen, 40, wrote in the comments section of a Sunday, June 28, Instagram carousel that included the snaps.

Taylor was still wiping tears as she accepted the honor. “Oh my god, b-tch. I’m gagging… They did not tell me Janet was coming, b-tch. It is so crazy,” she said, jumping up and down on the stage.

In early June, BET revealed Taylor would be the recipient of the Icon of the Year Award, stating the recognition “belongs to the creative force whose work, presence, and vision are setting the tone right now.”

During her acceptance speech, Teyana said she initially felt “uncomfortable” with the title, but later embraced the honor. “I worked my a-s off 20 years for this. So I’m not accepting what I’ve earned with arrogance, I’m accepting what I’ve earned with gratitude,” she said.

Collin Gosselin is opening up about his complicated family dynamics ahead of his tell-all memoir.

“I think [my sister] Hannah [Gosselin] is very sentimental and reminiscent, in a way, and I think she wants to still have a piece of that family,” Gosselin, 22, said in an interview first conducted over a year ago, but re-shared on Saturday, June 27, via YouTube ahead of Collin’s book. “And I even look back at it like this — during my parents’ divorce Hannah was always so much closer with my dad. But now that I look at it I don’t think that it was that she was closer with my dad, I think she just wanted both parents in her life. And it makes a lot of sense and that literally is normal — that’s a normal thing kids want that.”

Collin and Hannah, also 22, are two of Kate Gosselin and ex-husband Jon Gosselin’s eight children, made famous by their reality TV series Jon & Kate Plus 8. The former couple also share twins Mady and Cara, both 25, and the remaining sextuplets Alexis, Leah, Joel and Aiden, all 22.

The pair finalized their divorce in December 2009 after 10 years of marriage. Jon eventually took custody of Hannah and Collin, while Kate retained custody of the pair’s remaining six children.

From Collin’s point of view, before Hannah went to live with their father she wanted to be “closer” to him. After living with him, he believes she shifted her focus back to her mom.

“Now that she’s with my dad and she knows that my dad loves her and he’s never gonna leave her or throw her out on a limb or anything like that, I think she wants to now fix that relationship with my mom,” he alleged. “What hurts me on that is that Hannah wants to fix the relationship with my mom — Hannah wants to get into the emotional and the feelings part of it because she cares about people.”

He continued, “For my mom, it’s going on social media. It’s going on TikTok and saying, ‘Oh, hi, just talked to Hannah today. … So for Hannah it’s a relationship, and for my mom it’s a PR stunt and that’s what really hurts me.”

Us Weekly has reached out to Kate for comment on her son’s claims.

Collin’s come as he promotes his upcoming tell-all memoir, detailing life as a child under the harsh spotlight of reality TV and his family’s ongoing estrangement. Us exclusively revealed the cover of the book, In the Shadow of Eight: Surviving the Reality of My Childhood, earlier this month.

As for where he stands with Hannah as she continues to mend her relationship with her mother, Collins says he’ll always be in his sibling’s corner.

“I love my sister and I’ll always be there for her,” he said. “I even texted her the other day and I said — it was about recent events — I said, ‘I know you don’t want to talk about these things and we’re not going to.’ I just said, ‘I love you and I’m always going to be there for you.’”

He added, “I just want her to know that her relationship with my mom and our siblings is never going to determine our relationship, and I’m never going to have hard feelings for her because of that. … I’m never going to tell her how to feel — I’m always there for her despite her relationship with my mom.”

The stars left little to the imagination while attending the 2026 BET Awards, proving once again that the naked dress trend is here to stay.
