Beyond the Gates Early Spoilers Aug 31-Sept 4: Andre Reels in Shock & Nicole Spirals Wild!
Beyond the Gates early spoilers for Aug 31-Sept 4, 2026 stun with Andre Richardson (Sean Freeman) shaken to the core and unsure where to go from here. Plus, Dani Dupree (Karla Mosley) freaks out and does not like what she is hearing.
We expect Bill Hamilton (Timon Kyle Durrett) to confront Hayley Lawson (Marquita Goings). Dani’s trying to fix her marriage and Heather Armstrong (Ashley Jones) is doing really scary things.
And as we always do on early edition day, we go over what’s happening the rest of this week and then we get into what is coming next week.
Beyond the Gates Spoilers: Heather’s Scary Obsession with Andre
So, let’s get right to it. Wednesday, August 26th on BTG. Now, we saw Heather ran out on Joey Armstrong (Jon Lindstrom) on Tuesday when Andre texted. And when Heather sees Andre at her hotel room door, she says, “I knew you wouldn’t be able to stay away,” but he’s not there to give Heather what she wants.
I expect Andre is going to tell Heather, “Stay away from me. Stay away from Dani. Just stay away.” We have Heather losing it and lashing out on Wednesday. And it may be Andre who gets the brunt of her anger. Also remember Heather told Joey that Andre was the best thing she’s had in her bed, but she didn’t tell Joey that it’s Dani’s husband that she’s chasing. However, I will say that must have been a really memorable encounter.
BTG Spoilers: Smitty on a Mission
Heather is also focused on Bradley “Smitty” Smith (Mike Manning) who is not dropping this red market ring thing. He’s planning to go see former Garland Memorial Chief of Staff Lia Whitmore (Cecelia Specht) with more questions because Smitty is certain that Lia knows the identity of the Impaler and he is desperate to out that person. Of course, he thinks it’s a man. A roadblock pops up for Dani in her quest to find the answers she needs this week.
And I wonder if it’s Andre she’s questioning when he gets distracted because this week he’s with Dani and Andre gets a text from an unknown sender that says tick tock. That’s obviously from Heather who is not going to take no for an answer. Andre staring at his phone as Dani says his name trying to snap Andre out of it. So, Dani’s really worried that Andre might know about her ex sex in the elevator. But no, he is worried about the sex his ex is demanding.
Beyond the Gates Spoilers: Ted & Nicole Get Emotional
Ted Richardson (Keith D. Robinson) has an emotional and serious conversation with Nicole Dupree Richardson (Daphnee Duplaix), and it may be about the two new loves in their lives. I’m wondering if Ted may ask Nicole why she didn’t choose Carlton Fitzgerald (Robert Christopher Riley).
We also have Mona Wilson (Karan Kendrick) hustling Joey again. This may be another game of cards between the church lady and the bad man. Mona took Joey last time if you remember. Carlton runs into somebody unexpected and I wonder if it is Nicole or someone else. Then Thursday, August 28th on Beyond the Gates, we’ve got Ted having a heart-to-heart with Andre.
and he asks his nephew, “Are you in trouble?” They chat at Ted’s office and Andre is looking really stressed. Also, this week, Ted is hiding something that Andre wants him to keep secret. So, we’ll see if Dani maybe comes up to Ted asking if he knows what’s going on with Andre.
BTG Spoilers: Tomas Eager to Get Rid of Naomi
Bill’s sickness puts Naomi Hamilton Hawthorne (Arielle Prepetit) in an awkward spot at her dad’s office with Tomas Navarro (Alex Alegria) foaming at the mouth to get behind Bill’s desk and send Naomi out the door. But Bill has a proposition for Naomi, and it may be for her to take the reins while he’s recovering from his pacemaker surgery.
It sounds like Tomas doesn’t like what goes down because he then runs to Eva Thomas Richardson (Ambyr Michelle) looking for support. He really needs to talk to Kat Richardson (Colby Muhammad) about these things and Eva may advise him to do just that. She’s not happy to find Kat hanging out with Izaiah Hawthorne (David Lami Friebe) at Orphe Jeans this week and she makes a big show in front of Kat.
Beyond the Gates Spoilers: Nicole Spars with Kat
We also have Nicole bickering with Kat on Thursday. We’ll see if it’s about what Anita Dupree (Tamara Tunie) warned Kat not to do. If you remember, Chelsea Hamilton (RhonniRose Mantilla) and Kat told Anita they want to name their new designer bag the Nikki as a tribute to Nicole, but she hates that nickname, especially since Leslie calls her that.
Izaiah is confiding in Jacob Hawthorne (Jibre Hordges), and I wonder if Isaiah is planning to get more serious with Eva soon. Then Friday, September 4th on Beyond the Gates, we’ve got Anita’s singing voice continuing to fail her after chemo. So, she has this opportunity she’s unsure about. She’s wavering about it. And this may have to do with her, Tracy Tyler (Maria Howell), and Sharon Winger’s (Bonita Brisker) plan to record Articulate songs for Devon’s label. But Anita may need to bow out, which would mean her friends may lose this big opportunity.
BTG Spoilers: Naomi Irks Hayley
Naomi is a thorn in Hayley’s side. We’ll see if Naomi drops in at the house again without calling, which of course Hayley hates. That same day, she is hustling her hubby Bill and may leave him with a big old poison drink before she takes off.
Hayley goes to meet with Randy Parker (Maurice P. Kerry) at Uptown and Hayley is telling Randy, “With any luck, Bill will be dead by the time I get home.” Hayley’s laughing and lays her hand on Randy’s arm. What Hayley doesn’t know is Bill got suspicious and he followed her.
And now, he has seen her with Randy and now thinks that she is legitimately having an affair. I’m still wondering why the mega dose of that toxin that Hayley put in Bill’s scotch didn’t affect him. I’m also wondering if Naomi may sip the drink that Hayley left Bill before she took off to Uptown.
Beyond the Gates Spoilers: Smitty Has Bad News
It looks like Smitty has disturbing news for Chelsea and Kat. Smitty doesn’t mean to, but it looks like he triggers some anxiety for both of them. And maybe this is something that he dug up abkat orout Allison Bailey (Brianna Roberts). We also have Elon Hawthorne (Malachi Malik) bringing disturbing news to Jacob. That may be about Allison. Maybe they found the cell phone in her cell or the box of crazy letters.
Or maybe something happened to Lia in prison because Heather’s talking about shutting down operations. And to me, that sounds like she’s telling Joey she’s tying off loose ends, maybe in a murderous way. Vernon Dupree (Clifton Davis) closes out this week on BTG in crisis mode. This may be about Dani’s marriage concerns or Bill and Hayley or even Anita’s voice crisis.
Then the week of August 31st through September 4th on Beyond the Gates, we’ve got Smitty wanting to go back to talk to Lia, which had Martin Richardson (Brandon Claybon) worried for his husband’s safety. I suspect that Heather might have Lia killed in prison because she may indeed know her identity. And Heather shutting down operations may mean Heather shutting down people’s lives.
Beyond the Gates Spoilers: Heather Keeps Hurling Threats at Andre
Andre is getting threats from Heather. And of course, he knows she’s a psycho, so he’s got to be worried about Dani. Plus, if his wife finds out Andre knew Heather all along and lied to her face, that’s going to be a big problem. Plus, Dani can sense that something’s off with Andre.
And she’s not going to let up until she finds out what. And of course, Heather continues to lurk and scare Andre and try to blackmail him and leverage him and seduce him into her bed. Bill is on to Hayley and knows that she’s now a liar and a sneak, but he’s wrong about what she’s lying and sneaking about.
So, I’m curious to see if Bill confronts Hayley or if he goes to Joey about seeing her with Randy. We just saw Joey threaten Randy because Heather caught him stalking her. I don’t think Joey’s going to give Randy much more leeway before he does something to punish him.
Allison Still Plotting on BTG
Tomas continues to act out at the office and is putting himself at risk of Bill’s wrath. And crazy Allison is far from done and Chelsea is on edge about all of this. Joey wants Heather gone out of the DMV and he keeps pressuring her to leave town, but it looks like she is just cuckoo.
She is so obsessed with Andre and I don’t think Heather’s going to leave town until she has him back in her bed. But I don’t think Andre is going to give in because he loves Dani. I also wonder if Bill’s going to talk to Dani and start working on her knowing that his marriage is about to fall apart. I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s laying groundwork for a reunion.

Young and Restless Early Spoilers Aug 31-Sept 4: Lily Stirs Trouble & Victor Loses Control!
The Young and the Restless early weekly spoilers Aug 31-Sept 4 bring concern with Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) provoking someone trying to prove a point. Also, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) is agitated by two of his children and his wife and things may spiral out soon for the Newmans.
Also, in the week of August 31st through September 4th, we’ve got Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) pushing back, Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) making a big move, Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) worried, and Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) is absolutely frantic.
And as we always do on early edition day, we’re going to go over what’s happening the rest of this week and then we’re going to get into what is coming next week. So, let’s talk about all of that.
Young and the Restless Spoilers: Victoria & Kyle Plot
Wednesday, August 26th on The Young and the Restless. We’ve got Victoria coming to see Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) at Jabot. She’s really excited about this rivalry concept and Victoria’s begging Kyle to agree, but he says he hasn’t talked to Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and he’s sure Victoria didn’t tell Victor. And then Kyle says his parents are going out of town, so he’s not going to bug them about this.
Jack and Diane show up and find Kyle and Victoria together, but Kyle tells his parents they do not need to know what it’s about and that they should focus on their trip. Diane objects to this, but Jack overrides and agrees to it. And he tells Victoria he’ll be back in case Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) wants him to be his sponsor, and Victoria appreciates that. Victoria says Victor is devoted to Nick’s recovery, but Diane says Victor only cares about himself. And then Jack drags Diane away before things get worse and says, “Let’s just forget about Victor.”
They debate who should judge the Vibrante versus Jabot rivalry as Victoria and Kyle continue their conversation. And then Victoria brings up Kyle’s wardrobe malfunction for that Jabot sunscreen campaign. If you don’t recall, the product was called Birthday Suit. And Kyle came out of the water at the GCAC roof pole without his trunks and was like, “Whoops, it was an accident.” But he tells Victoria it wasn’t really a malfunction. And Kyle teases Victoria for remembering him in his birthday suit. Kyle also says Victoria hasn’t seen anything yet. Very flirty. They toast to the project. Victoria teases that Victor might disown her for this.
Y&R Spoilers: Jack Shuts Lily Down
Meanwhile, Diane and Jack wonder what Kyle and Victoria are plotting, but they think it’s about business, not personal stuff. Jack goes to see Lily at her place and rejects her offer to pay off the loan. She was hoping Jack would let her keep Chancellor by doing this. But Jack says there was a contract, the debt wasn’t repaid, and the Abbott claim is legit.
Jack said if Jon didn’t want it honored, he would have destroyed the documents. So, Jack basically is saying he’s not going to tear the Abbott family apart over this and tells Lily, “Work it out with Billy.” Jack says Lily knows the claim’s legit. That’s why she offered to pay it off. And Jack asks if it would be so tragic if Billy wins it.
Then Lily takes a call from Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) about getting their lawyers together. He’s hoping they can avoid a messy suit. And Lily invites him over to talk. She brings up Billy’s past mistakes and Lily tells him Jack is on his side because she offered to pay back the loan. And Lily tells Billy that he should prove to her he’s the best person to run Chancellor.
Young and Restless Spoilers: Victor & Nick Share a Moment
Meanwhile, Victor goes to see Nick at rehab. Victor’s really glad that he invited him. He doesn’t want his son to feel ashamed and says he was too hard on Nick growing up. And then Nick tells Victor about Marie Kirkland (Jade Harlow).
And Victor asked if they’re getting close and basically he doesn’t think Nick being around Marie is a good idea. But Nick likes having her around. He says Marie’s smart and funny. And he says watching her overdose helped him understand what the family went through when he overdosed.
After Victor goes, Marie shows up later and tells Nick that her husband is filing for a divorce and his lawyer contacted her. So Marie tells Nick she’s stressed about paying for a lawyer, stressed about paying for rehab, and Marie says, “You got to pay for your mistakes.” And then she asks Nick to help her find some drugs because she is spiraling.
But Nick talks Marie down and wants to know why she wants to get high. And she tells Nick the divorce is going to be blamed on her and she already feels like a failure. Nick comforts Marie and tells her he’s been divorced many times, which is true. And Nick says he just can’t let her use because then he might relapse and use too. So he hugs and comforts Marie.
Young and the Restless Spoilers: Kyle & Victoria Heat Up
Thursday, August 27th on The Young and the Restless, Kyle and Victoria’s rivalry takes a steamy turn. There’s still a pitch drinking and talking about annoying Victor. And Victoria tells Kyle she’s gonna love knocking the swagger out of him in this rivalry. Then they start passionately making out.
Meanwhile, Lily is continuing to challenge Billy. This carries over from Wednesday’s episode when Lily wants Billy to convince her he’s the right guy to run Chancellor. Lily warns Billy it’s not going to be an easy sell. So, I wonder if he’s going to actually legit pitch himself to Lily or if Billy’s going to get annoyed and just walk out.
Phyllis gets between Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) and Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) at the GCAC bar and Phyllis demands Adam tell her where the heck Matt is and what the Newmans did with him. So, Phyllis obviously can’t find Matt and she’s freaking out.
Then, Adam wants to know what is going on between her and Matt. Also, this week, Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei) and Phyllis bicker at the GCAC bar. I suspect Daniel is shocked his mom’s with bad guy Matt and she might be annoyed Daniel is working with Danny Romalotti (Michael Damian) and not her.
Y&R Spoilers: Matt Sees Patty
Friday, August 28th on The Young and the Restless. Patty Williams (Stacy Haiduk) reconnects with Matt. We know Patty’s in a high-security psychiatric hospital for hopefully decades. So, we’ll see if Matt went there to visit or if Victor had Matt tossed in there with Patty. Plus, Phyllis goes over to the house and goes off on Victor, accusing him of making Matt disappear. So, we’ll see if Victor is behind it, but he’s not giving anything away. And that may just be him enjoying putting Phyllis through some torment.
Jack and Diane are ready to head off on their romantic trip. We also have Sally and Billy talking at Society this week and it looks tense. Sally’s not happy and Billy’s trying to say going after Chancellor isn’t about power and how things are different this time. We’ll see if this is after he faces off with Lily about Chancellor and how that turns out. Also, Cane is over at Lily’s place having wine and I’m sure the topic of conversation is Billy and Chancellor.
Young and the Restless Spoilers: Billy Headed Downhill
Then the week of August 31st through September 4th on The Young and the Restless, Billy may spiral even if Lily hands over Chancellor because this is like giving a fully loaded crackpipe to an addict. Billy may run Power Mad and even worse, Billy may run Chancellor right into the ground. For me, I’d be happy to never hear Chancellor mentioned again.
Phyllis will be stunned to find out Matt was spending time with Patty. Also, actress Amelia Heinle) said in a recent interview that Kyle and Victoria’s affair escalates quickly and it’s definitely going to cause a lot of angst among the Newmans and Abbotts.
I imagine with Claire Newman (Hayley Erin) in particular, also with Victor. She said she didn’t think that The Young and the Restless was actually going to go there with Kyle and Victoria, but they are. And she’s really excited and she is throwing herself fully into it. So, look for them to start heating up quickly.
And I expect Kyle to rub this all in Victor’s face and Victoria’s dad is going to lose it. Diane and Jack may not stay gone as long as she wants on their trip if Nick needs his help. We’ll also see if surgery is going to work out for Nate Hastings’ (Sean Dominic) hand and they’ll be back as a surgeon themselves soon. Look for them and Stephanie Simmons (Vivica A. Fox) to heat up soon as well.
Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) and Victor’s marriage may be tested again soon because she wants Jack to sponsor Nick and because Victoria is climbing in bed with Kyle Abbott. I expect Marie and Nick to get much closer and cross the line from friends to something more.

‘Under Salt Marsh’ Features a Star-Studded Cast With ‘Slow Horses’ and ‘Industry’ Alums
In addition to Reilly and Spall, Under Salt Marsh features a cast packed with talent. Jonathan Pryce (Slow Horses), Harry Lawtney (Industry), Brian Gleeson, and Maggie Yang all have major roles within the series, but it’s Reilly — who also serves as an executive producer on Under Salt Marsh — that is the center of the story. Claire Oakley previously described what Reilly would bring to the table when Under Salt Marsh was first announced:

‘Under Salt Marsh’ Is Officially Returning for Season 2
The success of Under Salt Marsh has now secured its future. Sky officially renewed the mystery thriller for a second season on August 26, with filming set to begin next year. This time, however, the story will leave the fictional Welsh village of Morfa Halen behind and follow Eric Bull (Rafe Spall) to Scotland.
According to Sky, Season 2 will find Bull drawn to a remote Scottish mining village that is “sinking under the weight of its own secrets.” A new murder investigation will also lead him closer to the truth about his own past. Creator and EP Oakley said she was “thrilled” to take the series to another part of the U.K. and explore another mystery filled with buried secrets.
The renewal arrives after Under Salt Marsh earned widespread critical acclaim. Season 1 currently holds a perfect 100% critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes, while critics praised the show’s atmospheric, deliberately paced approach to the mystery genre. Days of Our Lives Aug 31-Sept 4 ramp up with Holly Jonas (Ashley Puzemis) losing it and raging at somebody. Plus, Stephanie Johnson (Abigail Klein) messes up really badly.
We’re talking a potentially marriage ending mistake that she is going to need to make right. Also, the week of August 31st to September 4th, we’ve got EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) under fire, Lexie Carver (Nikki Crawford)’s celebration of life, a new face in town, and concerns about a security risk.
And as we always do on early edition day, we’re going to go over what’s happening the rest of this week and then we’re going to talk about what is coming the week ahead. So, let’s get right into it.
Days of our Lives Spoilers: Roman Steps Up
Wednesday, August 26th on Days of Our Lives, we’ve got Roman Brady (Josh Taylor) helping his former Salem PD partner Abe Carver (James Reynolds) with Lexie’s end-of-life celebration. We may see Roman hosting the wake at The Brady Pub because Lexie’s last wish stressed that she did not want a funeral.
Instead, she left Abe instructions that she wanted a party to celebrate her life. So, this is going to be obviously very bittersweet. Stephanie turns to her friend Theo Carver (Tyler Joseph Andrews) because she’s upset with her hubby Alex Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson).
And Stephanie tells Alex this week that they can’t keep going on like this. And he asks Stephanie, “What are you saying?” Alex may be frustrated because this is terrible timing for her to be pulling stunts because he’s got to be there for Kelsey because Joy Wesley (AlexAnn Hopkins) is going through surgery that may paralyze her.
So, this is not the time for Stephanie to be needy and jealous, but she is. And of course, Theo is grieving, so they may be boozing at Lexie’s memorial or elsewhere and cross some lines. Stephanie’s all spun up because she saw Alex hug Joy, but she doesn’t understand the context and the terrible turn this medical crisis has taken.
DOOL Spoilers: Cat Questions EJ
Cat Greene (AnnaLynne McCord) questions EJ on Wednesday. If you recall, Cat remembered something huge in her hypnosis session with Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall). Cat told EJ she was ISA. Cat also talked about Clyde Weston (James Read), which was interesting.
So, looks like Cat was under his control at that point as well. I do wonder how much Clyde knew about Cat’s ISA status, if anything. So far, EJ’s had very scant memories return of their time at the clinic, and it’s frustrating him. Remember, Marlena told him he was unconscious, so his brain wasn’t making or storing memories.
Cat’s worried, and she wants to know if EJ remembers that she confessed she’s a spy. Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer) sets up a romantic evening with Jada Hunter (Elia Cantu) at the Bistro. And Marlena is worried about Belle Black (Martha Madison)’s plans, probably for Italy and the chess set mystery.
Julie already told Chad DiMera (Connor Floyd) he should not go to Italy. So, we’ll see if Belle goes alone or with him or with Marlena since the mystery was designed for her and John Black (Drake Hogestyn). I don’t think Chad’s going to stop, though.
Days Spoilers: Stephanie Messes Up
Thursday, August 27th on Days of Our Lives, Alex drops baby girl Kelsey off with his stepmom Bonnie Lockhart (Judi Evans) so that he can take Stephanie out on a date. But is she with Theo when Alex goes looking for Stephanie? Rob Wilson said recently that Stephanie does something bad.
She makes a poor decision that really disappoints Alex. So, it doesn’t sound like sex, but maybe something else. Holly is furious and she confronts EJ on Thursday. I expect Holly will lay into EJ about the Coriseal poisoning and planting the pills in her bag. Holly may never forgive her ex-stepfather. And I mean, what can EJ even do but say, “Oh, sorry. I drugged you and then planted drugs.”
I don’t think he’s going to confirm his guilt. He may just lie and deny to Holly’s face. EJ makes a tense phone call this week, presumably to Rita Lesley (Maggie Carney), tells her to get on George O’Halloran and make sure he puts a lid on the Coronavirus situation. The question is, did EJ make that call before or after Holly chews him a new one at the mansion?
Also, Paulina Price (Jackee Harry) wants Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) to come clean to Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens). This may be about him knowing Lexie was down in the basement room at the mansion. And hopefully Chanel will understand that Johnny was respecting his aunt’s deathbed wish.
I’m so excited that Chanel and Johnny’s daughter is named Olivia Alexandra DiMera, by the way, because that’s two cute and really sweet homages. Arianna Horton (Vico Escorcia) listens in on a disturbing conversation. We’ll see if it is Kate that she’s listening to because of what happens by the end of this week.
Days of our Lives Spoilers: Jack & Steve Reconnect
Friday, August 28th on Days of Our Lives. Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford)’s catching up with his brother Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols). They got lots to talk about. Jack may stick around a little longer because he wants to spend time with Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien) and do some father-daughter bonding.
And Steve may talk to Jack about Kayla Brady (Mary Beth Evans), hoping that Gwen buys the hospital. We’ve got EJ grilling his brother Chad about their late father Stefano DiMera‘s (Joseph Mascolo) chess set. And Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) is there for her ex-husband Xander Cook (Paul Telfer).
He’s upset about losing the house, blames himself. He’s also, of course, very upset that Sarah and Victoria are moving in with Brady Black (Eric Martsolf). But so far, you got to give Xander his flowers because he did not lose his temper when Sarah told him. Xander was very polite even though he was demonstrably upset.
Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow) asks Ari for a favor. So, if Kate was the one Ari was eavesdropping on, she might want to keep whatever it was secret from Roman. Marlena gives Belle a special keepsake on Friday. And I wonder if it may somehow tie into the chess set mystery.
DOOL Spoilers: Cat’s Next Move
Then the week of August 31st through September 4th on Days of Our Lives. We’ll see if Cat does what Marlena told her to and alerts Andrew Donovan (Colton Little) to the fact that EJ may know she was ISA because of what she said in Italy.
However, Cat may not want to admit that she broke protocol. Question is, will Marlena tell Andrew? We also now know that Victoria and Xander will be at the father and daughter dance. So, I wonder if it’s going to be offscreen to save Days some money.
Stephanie may regret leaning on Theo when Alex gets upset with her and Joy heads into surgery soon. And if Stephanie’s still acting out, it’s going to be so much harder on Alex. Hopefully, Stephanie’s going to check herself before she wrecks herself and their marriage. Abe picks up the pieces after losing Lexie.
I’m sure Paulina is going to comfort him, but I doubt Abe is going to run right back to Paulina to resume their marriage. It’s messy, but long-term, I do expect they will get remarried since their marriage was nullified when Lexie was declared not dead.
Chad’s debating whether or not to go to Italy. He’s listened to Julie and Jack and, you know, Thomas and Charlotte weighed in on this. Chad says they’re okay with him leaving with Belle to make a short trip to Italy.
But I don’t think it’s a good look for Chad since he didn’t have his kids all summer and now is bailing. We’ll find out if Kate did something else that Roman won’t like and that may be why she needs a favor from Ari.
Days Spoilers: Leo Back to Business
Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart) gets back on track investigating the fake designer bags for Gabi Hernandez (Cherie Jimenez) and that could lead somewhere unexpected when they find the culprit. However, she is going out of town so Leo may have to work on it without her.
Plus, looks like Javi Hernandez (Jacob Martinez) is going to have to approach Leo about a reconciliation because he is giving Javi space and sympathy about his split from Gus (Michael Ocampo). It’s time for campus move-in for Ari, Erin, and Holly.
We may see Tate Black (Leo Howard) feeling a little left out like he was when they were making s’mores and talking about their sophomore year of college. Philip Kiriakis (John-Paul Lavoisier) is going to head to Monte Carlo with Gabi as his fiancée.
Obviously, they’re not doing it on location. Look for lots of B-roll footage, and we’ll see if Philip can pull off a Hail Mary to save the family or if it’s going to be a bust and Gabi loses the money she loaned Philip to buy into the game.
Even if he wins big, it’s hard to say it will be big enough. You know, 200 million big seems insane. The following week on September 9th, that’s when we get a new face and we find out who Evelyn Stephenson is playing. I suspect she will be recast Sydney DiMera.
There’s something uniquely impressive about a great historical epic. These movies aren’t just about stories set in the past — they recreate entire worlds, bringing empires, political upheavals, and larger-than-life figures to the screen on a scale that can make history feel almost immediate. And when they work, the result is the kind of filmmaking that feels almost impossible to replicate today.
Of course, the greatest historical epics also understand that spectacle alone isn’t enough. Beneath the enormous battle sequences, lavish costumes, and sweeping landscapes are rich, powerful tales about ambition, sacrifice, and human nature. So, whether they’re set in ancient Japan or the American Civil War, these are the historical epics that have proved just how extraordinary the genre can be.

‘Barry Lyndon’ (1975)
Redman Barry (Ryan O’Neal), an ambitious Irishman, claws his way into the European aristocracy through duels, deception, and an advantageous marriage to the wealthy Lady Lyndon (Marisa Berenson). But upon finally achieving the social status he long craved, Barry discovers that becoming a gentleman is considerably easier than remaining one, as his ambition and arrogance gradually threaten everything he built.
Stanley Kubrick‘s meticulous recreation of 18th-century Europe practically captures the beauty of an old painting with its sprawling landscapes, elaborate costumes, and candlelit interiors. Yet beneath all that visual splendor lies a wonderfully cynical story about class, vanity, and the absurdity of social ambition. Sure, Barry Lyndon may be a little slow, but its hypnotic atmosphere and astonishing craftsmanship make it one of the most distinctive historical epics ever made.

‘Saving Private Ryan’ (1998)
Captain John Miller (Tom Hanks) and his squad of American soldiers travel across Nazi-occupied France in search of Private James Francis Ryan (Matt Damon), whose brothers had been killed in combat. Their mission is to make sure Ryan is brought home safely, prompting the men to question why they must sacrifice so much for one man.
Saving Private Ryan‘s depiction of World War II is famously visceral, but Steven Spielberg makes sure to never let the spectacle overwhelm the human story. Hanks gives the film a quietly commanding center, while the camaraderie between the soldiers makes every subsequent loss hit harder. It’s an extraordinarily raw epic that masterfully showcases the brutal realities of war.

‘The Last Emperor’ (1987)
Bernardo Bertolucci‘s The Last Emperor chronicles the life of Puyi, who becomes China’s final emperor at just three years old. Raised in a palace in extraordinary isolation, Puyi (John Lone) grows up believing himself to be the center of the universe — that is, before political upheaval strips him of his imperial power.
The scale of the film is enormous, but it’s the personal journey that becomes the emotional anchor. For instance, the Forbidden City provides a spectacular backdrop for a story about a man who has immense symbolic power but remarkably little control over his own life. Winner of all nine Oscars for which it was nominated, including Best Picture and Best Director, The Last Emperor remains an astonishing achievement in period filmmaking.

‘Gangs of New York’ (2002)

Determined to embark on his journey of revenge, Amsterdam infiltrates Bill’s circle to take him down from the inside just as tensions between rival gangs threaten to consume the city.
Gangs of New York is at its best when Martin Scorsese plunges headfirst into the filthy, chaotic world of old New York, turning the city itself into a character of its own. Day-Lewis is utterly magnetic, delivering a performance so theatrical, vicious, and strangely charismatic that he almost appears to be having the time of his life. With enormous battle sequences, lavish production design, and a rich story about America’s bloody foundations, this is a historical epic with plenty of teeth.

‘Glory’ (1989)
Glory tells the story of the 54th Massachusetts Infantry Regiment, one of the first African American regiments organized in the Union Army during the American Civil War. In this, Colonel Robert Gould Shaw (Matthew Broderick) trains the regiment, while also trying to secure proper recognition for his soldiers, who face both the Confederate army and racism within their own ranks.
What makes the film so powerful is the way it turns a significant piece of military history into an intensely personal tale about courage, discrimination, and brotherhood. Broderick brings quiet determination to Shaw, while the rest of the stacked cast — including Denzel Washington‘s Oscar-winning performance — remains incredibly unforgettable. It’s a historical epic that’s not as frequently spoken about, but one that deserves all the spotlight, especially since it carries so much heart.

‘The Bridge on the River Kwai’ (1957)
Set during World War II, Allied POWs in a Japanese internment camp are ordered to build a railway bridge for their captors. Their natural instinct is to sabotage its construction. David Lean turns the construction of a bridge into an extraordinary examination of military pride, obsession, and the psychological effects of war. Guinness gives an Oscar-winning performance, gradually transforming Nicholson from a principled officer into a man so consumed by his own idea of honor. Of course, the film’s spectacular finale remains a true highlight, but the real strength of The Bridge on the River Kwai lies in how cleverly it questions what heroism actually looks like.

Two ransom notes sent to local and national news outlets in connection with the disappearance of Today show host Savannah Guthrie‘s mother, Nancy Guthrie, continue to provide more questions than answers.
“I think the sheriff’s office officially releasing the notes was probably trying to capitalize on that six-month moment,” NewsNation’s senior national correspondent Brian Entin exclusively shared with Us in a new cover story focused on Nancy’s disappearance. “It would be a good time to release the notes and that maybe it could drum up some new interest and maybe an important tip to come in.”
On July 31, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department released two ransom notes that authorities say “provide valuable insight into the mindset, motives and the evolution of their tone over time.”
The first note was sent to CBS Tucson affiliate KOLD-TV on February 2 and was addressed to Savannah, 54. (Nancy was reported missing on February 1 after not attending a virtual church service.)
Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos is weighing in on the latest ransom notes making headlines in the ongoing search for Today coanchor Savannah Guthrie’s mom, Nancy Guthrie. “I think the FBI has done a number of arrests for false or fake ransom notes,” Nanos shared during a Friday, June 26, appearance on Arizona radio station […]
“We have your mother Nancy. She is safe but scared,” the note read. “She will be held for ransom and once payment is received, she will be released unharmed. … If payment is not received by the last deadline … she will be killed.”
The letter also stated Nancy had a white smartwatch at the foot of her bed and that a floodlight had been damaged in her backyard.
A separate note, also sent to KOLD-TV, was addressed to the Guthrie family on February 6. It said Nancy “perished shortly after she was taken” and was “buried in nature.”
“Nothing you could have done could have changed the outcome,” the letter stated. “We want your family to know this and hope you all can find peace. We are truly sorry.”

Ana Belmonte, an assistant professor of forensic psychology at The Chicago School who is unaffiliated with the case, found the notes believable.
“The inclusion of the information about Nancy’s smartwatch and the damaged light indicates the source of the note is likely credible,” Belmonte told Us.
Retired FBI agent Scott Curtis, who isn’t working on the case, said he doesn’t “put a lot of significance” into the notes because they’re not handwritten and could therefore be AI-generated.
Forensic linguist Dr. Carole Chaski, who is also unaffiliated with the investigation, also had doubts about the letters.
“[One] part of this note that I thought was interesting is ‘We have your mother’ — present tense. ‘She is safe but scared’ — Present tense,” Chaski continued. “‘She will be held for ransom’ — future. She is being held for ransom. If it’s for real, you know. I’m not sure this note is for real. Because of that tense shift.”
New details have continued to emerge amid the disappearance of Today show coanchor Savannah Guthrie’s mom, Nancy Guthrie. Chaski continued, “The reality is there’s no reason for it to shift to the future. The future shift comes normally later, which it does in this note when it says she will be released. So that makes sense because that’s talking about what’s going to happen in the real future. But what’s happening in the real present is that she’s being held for ransom, not that she will be held for ransom.”
Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos has assured the public that investigators are still working the case. Anyone with information is asked to call the FBI’s tipline at 1-800-CALL-FBI. Tips can remain anonymous.

Atatiana Jefferson‘s family will reportedly receive an $11.25 million settlement for her shooting death. Former officer Aaron Dean was convicted of shooting and killing Atatiana inside her own home in Fort Worth, Texas, on Oct. 12, 2019.

Atatiana Jefferson’s Family To Receive $11.25 Million Settlement
The Fort Worth City Council approved an $11.25 million settlement for Atatiana Jefferson’s estate on Tuesday, August 25, according to CBS News.
Ex-police officer Aaron Dean shot Atatiana in Fort Worth, Texas, during a safety check in 2019. Not only that, but she was killed in front of her 8-year-old nephew in her own home. Dean was later found guilty of manslaughter instead of murder and received an 11-year prison sentence.
The family’s lawyer, John J. Coyle, said that no settlement could restore Atatiana’s life.
“Atatiana Jefferson’s death was a profound tragedy that never should have happened. She was a beloved daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece, aunt, and friend – a young woman with a bright future whose life was taken far too soon,” said Coyle. “No settlement can restore that life or erase the pain her family and loved ones have endured. Through The Atatiana Project, that collective grief and determination became a force for positive change. The Project has transformed tragedy into opportunity and remembrance into action, creating programs and initiatives designed to empower young people, strengthen communities, and open doors that too often remain closed. That is the legacy we should celebrate.”
The 28-year-old pre-medical student and graduate of Xavier University of Louisiana. In addition, Atatiana also worked in the pharmaceutical equipment industry as she saved for medical school.
It’s unclear how soon the family will receive the settlement because it still requires probate court approval.
Jefferson Was Killed Inside Her Own Home
Atatiana Jefferson was murdered by the police on October 12, 2019. Jefferson and her 8-year-old nephew, Zion, were playing video games when they heard a noise outside. He later testified that they had burned hamburgers, and her front door was left open to let out the smoke.
After a neighbor reported her doors were open to a non-emergency police number requesting a safety check, the police arrived at Jefferson’s residence at approximately 2:25 a.m. Within one minute and 17 seconds of their arrival, Dean fatally shot Atatiana.
Zion testified that after they heard a sound, his aunt got her gun and moved towards the window, per ABC News. Body cam footage captured Dean approaching the window when all of a sudden he yelled, “Put your hands up, show me your hands.” Then he shot Atatiana through the glass.
Afterward, Dean claimed that he saw Atatiana’s weapon and thought she was a burglar, but Prosecutor R. Dale Smith noted that he never told his partner he saw a gun.
“What officer would allow one of his partners to run into a house where they thought a burglary was happening without saying, ‘Hey, there’s a gun in there?’” Smith asked. “He never said there was a gun, because he didn’t know.”
What Is The Atatiana Project?
Ataiana’s family founded The Atatiana Project after her murder, a nonprofit organization that provides children with educational, career-oriented programs in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) Careers in which they are disproportionately underrepresented.
“This organization was created in honor of Atatiana Jefferson who, while with her nephew, was murdered in her home by a Fort Worth police officer,” reads the website. “The project continues the work Atatiana was doing at the time of her death —exposing youth to STEAM. For underserved communities, this will bridge educational gaps and open career paths.”

Johnny Ringo Actor Reveals How Kurt Russell Officially Saved ‘Tombstone’ After On-Set Disaster [Exclusive]
Tombstone had absolutely everything going for it. It had one of the best Western casts ever assembled, some of the most quotable dialogue the genre has ever produced — courtesy of the soon-to-be former writer-director Kevin Jarre — and a gorgeous landscape. Behind the scenes, it was a wagon wreck. Jarre was fired after several weeks of filming, leaving the production facing the unenviable task of somehow getting an ambitious Western back on track. According to Michael Biehn, who starred as Johnny Ringo, Kurt Russell deserves an enormous amount of credit for making sure Tombstone survived that upheaval.
Speaking exclusively with Collider while promoting Onslaught, Biehn opened up on the madness behind the scenes and explained that a huge chunk of the movie, as well as extensive pre-production, had already happened by the time he was dismissed from his position. For his part, Biehn was pretty open about his opinion as to why Jarre was deposed.
“Kevin, who created it, did all the pre-production on it — the wardrobe and everything. Pre-production is really setting up the entire movie as far as what the movie is going to look like. They shot with Kevin for four weeks, and then they fired him. I know why, because he wanted his way or the highway, and he was not very collaborative. He had Kurt there, he had William Fraker, the DP, who was an Academy Award winner, and he had a bunch of great actors around him. He just didn’t listen to anybody.”
The problem was enormous. Biehn says Jarre’s original screenplay ran 142 pages, which he estimates would have resulted in a roughly two-and-a-half-hour movie. After Jarre’s dismissal, Russell worked alongside writer and producer Jim Jacks, to determine what the movie absolutely needed and what could be sacrificed. The result was a brutal weekend of cuts:
“Kurt was responsible, and they brought in a writer. Over the weekend, they cut about 40 pages out of that script, so everybody lost a lot. The Cowboys always felt we got the raw end of that deal as far as some of the stuff that got cut out, because you never see the Cowboys unless they’re around the Earps, and that’s not the way it was in the script at all. They had a whole different life that they lived away from Tombstone. When I say life, two or three scenes.”
Kurt Russell Saved ‘Tombstone’
Biehn explained that Russell then worked with the team to effectively rebuild the movie around the material they could realistically shoot. “Kurt is a very special human being, too. Kurt had to work with a writer, work with a producer named Jim Jacks at the time, and they had to cobble that together. They had to ask themselves, ‘What do we really need here, and what can go?’ So he cut a lot of that out.”
And Biehn is unequivocal about the importance of Russell’s contribution to the movie that ultimately reached cinemas:
“It’s because of Kurt Russell. He made the decisions of what stayed and what went. The love story between him and Dana Delany was really, really trimmed down. If I was him, I would’ve been pulling my hair out a little bit by the time he wrapped that thing.”
Russell’s involvement shouldn’t be confused with actually editing the finished film, however. Biehn stressed that Russell departed almost immediately after production to make Stargate and wasn’t involved in cutting the completed footage. His role was in helping slash and reshape the screenplay during production so Tombstone could actually be finished.
Whatever happened behind the scenes, it worked. Biehn noted that Tombstone wasn’t initially greeted as a classic — he remembers major reviews barely mentioning Johnny Ringo at all — but its reputation grew enormously through home viewing. Today, he says it’s “very rare” for him to encounter someone who isn’t in love with the movie.

Dawson’s Creek alum Busy Philipps is opening up about her recovery after being diagnosed with a brain tumor.
“I’m grateful that I’m alive,” Philipps, 47, told People in an interview published Wednesday, August 26, revealing that a Prenuvo full-body scan in February confirmed the presence of a grade 2 oligodendroglioma, a rare slow-growing tumor.
Philipps, who didn’t have any obvious symptoms in advance, said that she thought about canceling her scan since it was scheduled one day after her former Dawson’s Creek costar James Van Der Beek died from stage III colorectal cancer.
“‘Should I cancel it?’” Philipps recalled asking her ex-husband, Marc Silverstein, who responded, “Maybe it’s the best thing you could do for your friend this morning. Go get that scan.”
After the Prenuvo scan confirmed the presence of a tumor, Philipps was admittedly “hyperventilating” while still “trying to breathe.”
Immediately, the actress was focused on consoling her two daughters. (Philipps and Silverstein, 55, are the parents of Birdie, 17, and Cricket, 13.)
“[Birdie] was kind of beside herself and really, really scared and overwhelmed with emotion,” the Girls5Eva alum recalled of her eldest child. “I just kept saying to her, ‘Birdie, you’re just not in the movie where your mom dies your senior year of high school. That’s just not the movie that you’re in. I promise you.’”
As for Cricket, Philipps noted that her youngest daughter was much calmer about her diagnosis.
“Her reaction when I told her was like, ‘OK. You’re going to be fine?’ And I was like, ‘I’m totally going to be fine,’” Philipps said. “And she’s like, ‘OK.’”
Philipps ultimately underwent a procedure in March, with doctors removing a 2.6-centimeter mass from her brain.
“It is considered malignant, but it has the best prognosis of all of the malignant gliomas,” Philipps’ neuro-oncologist, Dr. Alexandra Miller, told People. “It’s sort of defined as a cancerous tumor based on the ability of the tumor to regrow over time, rather than it looking very malignant under the microscope.”
Philipps’ procedure was successful, and she told the outlet that she “wasn’t in pain at all.” However, she faced a setback in April when she contracted staphylococcus on her incision and needed a follow-up surgery to debride and clear the wound.
While the actress’ surgery was successful, she will need to get regular scans to monitor a potential recurrence.
“What am I? The luckiest girl in the world?” she quipped.
