Bianca Stanciu Says One Compliment Can Make A Man’s Day

Published

on

Bianca Stanciu

Bianca Stanciu believes making a man’s day may require far less effort than people realize.

The data scientist and social media creator has built an audience of millions by applying an analytical eye to everything from internet behavior to relationships. Now, she is turning her attention to something considerably more personal: why certain compliments can stick with men long after they hear them.

According to Stanciu, the secret is not necessarily telling a man he looks attractive. Instead, she believes noticing something small that he does well can have a surprisingly powerful effect.

Stanciu believes there is a simple reason an unexpected compliment can mean so much to a man: many simply do not receive them very often.

“It’s partly cultural,” Stanciu tells The Blast. “Women notice little things about each other constantly — a new haircut, an outfit, something you did well. A lot of men don’t get that same running commentary, even from their friends, so when they do hear something, it sticks.”

For the creator, that difference makes even relatively minor praise more significant.

“There’s a comparative advantage,” she explained. “When the baseline is low, a small positive signal stands out. One sincere compliment can light up a guy’s entire week.”

Stanciu demonstrated the theory in a recent Instagram Reel about “compliments men secretly yearn for.”

Her example was unexpectedly specific. “Hey, you’re a good driver. You brake at the right time,” she says in the video. “When you approach an intersection, I trust you. I don’t even do that fake passenger-side brake thing with my foot. That’s how good you are.”

Why Stanciu Thinks Telling A Man He’s A Good Driver Can Hit Differently

The compliment might sound oddly specific, but Bianca Stanciu says that is exactly what makes it effective.

“It’s tongue-in-cheek, but I actually love that example,” she tells The Blast. “Driving is one of those things people usually only comment on when you’re doing it badly.”

Instead, telling someone that their driving makes you feel comfortable recognizes something that might otherwise go unnoticed.

“So when someone says, ‘I feel safe when you’re behind the wheel,’ there’s a lot packed into that,” Stanciu explained. “You’re recognizing something subtle he does well that he’s probably never received credit for.”

To Stanciu, there is also an important distinction between feeding someone’s ego and making them feel genuinely noticed.

“I don’t see that as stroking a man’s ego,” she said. “I see it as making him feel seen. ‘You’re hot’ may feel good, but ‘I feel safe when you’re driving’ tells someone that you’ve noticed how he moves through the world.”

There’s Research Behind Bianca Stanciu’s Compliment Theory

Bianca Stanciu
Ruthless Media

Stanciu’s argument is not based entirely on social observation.

Research published in Transportation Research Part F has examined connections between driving, masculinity and perceptions surrounding driving competence.

A separate study published in Frontiers in Psychology also found differences in how compliments were received, with male participants responding more positively to compliments about personality than those focused on appearance.

That helps explain why Stanciu believes paying attention to someone’s less obvious qualities can make praise feel considerably more personal.

“Everyone defaults to appearance because it’s the easiest thing to see,” she tells The Blast. “But the best compliment is often the one that makes someone feel as though you see them more clearly than everyone else does.”

For someone whose career revolves around finding patterns, Stanciu’s fascination with the overlooked extends well beyond dating and relationships.

Bianca Stanciu
Ruthless Media

Stanciu has also been examining the less flattering ways the internet can influence how people see themselves.

She recently released A Data Scientist’s Guide to Surviving Social Media,” a seven-minute film exploring what can happen when people compare their lives to the success stories that algorithms repeatedly place in front of them.

At the center of the project is survivorship bias, the tendency to focus on the people or outcomes that succeeded while overlooking those that did not.

Applied to social media, the phenomenon can create a distorted picture of success. Viral breakthroughs and seemingly overnight careers remain highly visible, while the countless people who tried without achieving the same outcome largely disappear from view.

“The fact that we survived this social experiment so far, it’s kind of amazing,” Stanciu says in the film.

Her message is not that people need to abandon social media. Instead, she encourages viewers to consider what spending roughly two decades immersed in online platforms may have changed about them and whether what they consume is genuinely enriching their lives or fueling comparison.

How The ‘Sexiest Data Scientist’ Built An Audience Of Millions

Bianca Stanciu
Ruthless Media

Bianca Stanciu’s unusual combination of data science, human behavior, and social media did not happen overnight.

The Romania-born creator studied data science at the IT University of Copenhagen before moving to Los Angeles in 2020 to work in the video game industry.

A year later, she launched BIANCADATA, building content around the idea that some of the analytical tools used to understand data could also help people better understand themselves and their behavior.

Her approach has since attracted more than 3 million followers across social media, while the subjects she tackles have expanded well beyond traditional data science.

One moment, Stanciu might be explaining survivorship bias and the psychological traps lurking inside social media. The next, she is making a surprisingly convincing argument for telling a man that he knows exactly when to hit the brakes.

“Data science is built to find patterns, but my favorite part is when it helps us notice what the model misses,” Stanciu tells The Blast. “I think people deserve the same kind of attention.”

She added, “Sometimes what looks insignificant at first is exactly what makes someone feel appreciated.”

Big Brother: Drew & Barrett Backstabbing OUTED and Live Feeds Insanity

Published

on

Big Brother: Mallory Aurichio

Big Brother live feeds were wild overnight and this morning including some hot dog and banana shenanigans. Also, Drew Campbell and Barrett Pfeiffer’s sneaky two-faced game play was exposed to their closest allies.

Big Brother 28: Trust Issues and Turbulence

Let’s start with Kamu Kirk’s cluelessness about how much at risk he is of eviction. Kamu worked on Mallory Aurichio trying to get her to keep him and evict Angela Murray. Kamu promised he’d go after Dee Valladares and Devens.

And Kamu told Mallory the vets are liars who can’t be trusted. These are things she already knows. Then, Mallory ratted out Kamu’s evict-Angela pitch to Angela herself. Kamu also promised to keep Mallory safe. Angela said Kamu’s scrambling.

Kamu still can’t seem to figure out why Mallory still wants to evict him. Let’s see. Kamu nominated her, targeted Mallory’s allies when his side was in power and took a steaming poo on her Big Brother tea party.

Melody Morris told the rest of FAP crew that she’s annoyed Taylor Brown wants to keep Kamu because he’s hot. Mallory said emphatically, Kamu is not hot. Yash Patel and Kamu finally figured out Drew and Barrett have been ratting to the icons.

They realized they tattled about the HOH meeting under Lala’s reign. And Melody and Mallory realized Drew and Barrett have been running to the vets this whole time. Melody confronted Drew about allying with the vets.

Mal and Mel agree they only trust each other now. And Haley Thogmartin‘s piling on telling Taylor not to trust Drew and Haley thinks Drew and Barrett have a 4 person thing with Devens and Dee.

And by the way, Yash did have an extreme reaction to Devens blindside DPOV move but did it up in his HOH room with Drew and Kamu, so it was a no-risk space.

Yash Crashes Out on BB28

Yash was griping about Devens and said “f-k this power. I’m not gonna let this power take a negative turn on my HOH that would’ve been a masterclass. F-word you and your damn power bro”. That’s his rant.

Also, there was another Lala incident. Taylor was cleaning the bathroom, Angela came in and Lala Verrett started grilling her asking how close is she to Dee. Are they tight, are they allies? Taylor got mad and shut it down.

She told Angela, you don’t have to answer that. And at first Angela said it was okay, then she asked Lala, well how close are you to Kamu. I think you’d keep Kamu over me. In the end, Angela went upstairs to cry (as usual).

Then, Taylor went off on Lala, chewed her out, told her stop putting people on the spot, stop moving around the house that way. Taylor was really mad & when she put her hands on her hips, Lala laughed so hard she almost peed.

Then, Taylor stormed off to the storage room to rant to the cameras about Lala messing up her game but Taylor said she can’t just ditch Lala at this point. Taylor said a prayer to make it to jury.

By the way, Lala’s kids are on social media upset about Taylor talking to their mom like this. Later, Yash and Taylor teamed up on Lala. After Taylor and Yash fussed at her, Lala said, fine I won’t say anything but good morning, good afternoon, good night and keep it moving.

Taylor said perfect and Yash said, it sounds messed up but yeah. I don’t think Lala’s going to stick to those rules. She complained it’s a double standard because Haley says things.

Taylor said yes, but not not out loud in front of everyone. She told Lala this is a social experiment. She walked out and Yash told Taylor, “There will be a day we have to send Lala home. You know that right?”

Drama and Fractured Alliances on BB28

There’s growing anti-icon sentiment but it seems to be tabled for one week. So, Melody told Drew, “what if we do this for the icons (getting Kamu out), then next week all bets are off?”. Melody realized they’re doing the vet’s dirty work like Haley, Chuk Anyanwu, and Kamu did in the past.

But with the numbers whittled down, if the entirety of the house turns on the vets next week, they’ll have the numbers. Even if the vet pets scurry back and align with them. Taylor, Yash, Mallory, Melody, Lala and either Haley or Kamu will stay. That’s 6.

Drew, Barrett and the vets is 5. The non-vet side should have control but it’s all about the next HOH and the final time capsule power. Fan polls have Drew in the lead but Kamu’s shifted up to second place. And the coin of destiny is still up for grabs. Next week on Big Brother should be fire.

Speaking of anti-vet sentiment. Kamu, Lala and Taylor all clocked that Dee’s the type who talks bad about you and then avoids you because of her own guilt. Taylor said she’s like that quote—when people do you wrong, they avoid you.

Big Brother 28: Weinergate – Who Bit the Dog?

Okay now Weinergate. This was a fun prank. Rick Devens made two hotdogs and mac n’ cheese and got called into the DR because production’s just mean. He left his food on the table.

Then, Yash, Drew and Melody peer pressured Barrett into sneaking down and taking a bite of his food. Barrett looked really stressed but finally took a bite of a dog. When Devens came out of the DR, he saw a bite was missing.

He immediately assumed Dee did it. The HOH crew watched on the monitor upstairs laughing as Devens called Dee a hot dog biter. She told Devens it wasn’t me, but it’s funny, I wish I’d thought of it.

Then, Melody, Yash, Drew and Barrett came down and lined up in front of him. Devens said it’s a hot dog inquisition. They rehearsed to say in unison, “you have to guess who ate your hot dog and if you get it wrong, you’ll never know.”

Devens said Melody’s least likely which makes her most likely. He said Drew wouldn’t do it unless it was peer pressure. Barrett wasn’t even on his radar. So, Devens guessed Yash and because he’s wrong, they turned around silently and jogged back upstairs.

After a few seconds Devens did a big cinematic “nooooooo”. Upstairs, Drew said they have to take it to their graves.

Big Brother: It’s All Bananas

Another cute thing is that Mallory made Angela a card to cheer her up. She gathered a bunch of food wrappers, a piece of cardboard off a food box and the medical tape from the first aid kit and tore up the letters and taped them onto the card to say “Angela Rocks BB28“.

Mallory said she thought she might like it for her scrapbook. Angela was moved to tears and said it’s like a strange kind of love on Big Brother. And now the banana incident.

Devens was with Dee, Barrett, Drew and Mallory and Melody in the hot tub room. Devens has a round blue pillow with a hole in it like a mouth. He put sunglasses on it and named it Garrett.

So, pillow-Garrett interviewed Pipe Queen Mallory about some stuff and then Garrett described to everyone how Drew eats a banana. He said Barrett eats bananas like a “normal human being”.

You peel a little, eat a little, peel some more, then you end up with empty peel. Garrett said the way Drew eats bananas is “quite unorthodox”. Devens said Drew takes the banana, peels it entirely and holds the squishy banana in his bare hand.

Devens said Drew bites one end, then the other all the while holding it like it’s a smiley face and then eats it to completion. They’ve got to put that on the episode because it killed me.

Tonight is the 90 minute power of veto comp episode where we’ll see Yash win OTEV, leave noms the same and Devens plays his DPOV to apparently lackluster response. Can’t wait to see it.

Published

on

UPDATE — 8/19/26, 2:05 p.m. ET: David Krumholtz is clarifying his temporary break from acting.

“Firstly, I am very well. And I feel very loved. Secondly, I never used the word ‘retiring’ or ‘quitting.’ Instead, I said that I decided to put my career on hold,” Krumholtz wrote via Instagram to set the record straight on Wednesday, August 19. “I don’t expect anyone to understand, but the outpouring of support for my decision has been deeply heartwarming. I am wildly grateful, as more than one of my biggest dreams have come true as a result of being an actor. Grateful to all who support and believe in me.”

At the same time, the Supergirl star acknowledged having a “mountain of disappointments” alongside his successes.

“My mental health is vital to my family. My career has run the gamut. I’m in disbelief. But I find myself at a crossroads between the inherent self involvement being a professional actor requires, and a burning desire to give more of myself to others in need, in whatever way I can,” he continued. “And so, for the time being, I’m pursuing that goal. There’s still more work to come. Stuff to be seen. And as always, I really hope you enjoy what I’ve put out there. Just,… gimme a sec ❤️.”

Original story below:

Oppenheimer and Supergirl actor David Krumholtz announced he’s taking an “indefinite break” from acting, saying he is “fed up.”

“I kinda sorta put my acting career on hold the other day. It’s been something I’ve been petrified to do for years,” Krumholtz, 48, shared in a now-deleted Threads post on Tuesday, August 18.

“Specifically, the fear was that I’d go broke and not be able to handle being out of the game. But I sent the definitive email,” he wrote, per Deadline, Just Jared and other outlets.

Krumholtz continued, “And gotta say, a huge wave of relief washed over me. Not sure what I’m going to do for money instead, or how I’m going to do it, but I just removed a humongous burden, one that I truly didn’t fathom the weight of until it was gone. Frustrated, fed up, fried.”

David Krumholtz doesn’t receive much of a holiday bonus from his Santa Clause residuals. “They’re minimal because the movie plays so much,” Krumholtz, 48, recently told Page Six of the checks he receives each year for the 1994 Christmas film starring Tim Allen. The Numb3rs actor explained, “This is how residuals work: Every time it […]

In response to a follower who asked if he was retiring from acting, he responded, “Not quitting entirely. Just taking a bit of a step back and an indefinite break.”

“The stress of the moment has me wondering if there’s a higher calling to pursue. Thanks for the very kind thought. Means the world,” he added.

Krumholtz shared another post, reacting to the support he received from the acting community.

“The love and encouragement re: my last post is overwhelmingly surprising. Acting professionally is a very different concept than the exercise of acting itself,” he wrote. “I’ve enjoyed every single minute of exercising the muscle. I’ve enjoyed the fanfare. There was a time when being competitive and self-involved really served my pursuit. That time has passed. Much to MY overwhelming surprise. There will always be great joy in the exercise. But for me, the profession has lost its gleam.”

The Mindy Project’s Garret Dillahunt commented on Krumholtz’s post, “This is sad news for me. But I am happy for you. I understand completely.”

“Garret, man. Means the world. Ain’t over, rather, redefining my terms. Hoping to find a new, more rewarding passion,” Krumholtz responded. “Me, my product, and I mentality is not working anymore. I want to try to be of service. No crystal ball.”

Krumholtz played physicist Isidor Rabi in Christopher Nolan’s Oscar-winning Oppenheimer in 2023. He most recently played Zor-El in DC Studios’ Supergirl, starring opposite Milly Alcock. Janelle Brown Breaks Dating Hiatus With Big Instagram Reveal

Janelle Brown rescinds on a previous decision, and her joy now knows no bounds!

The “Sister Wives” star is sharing her new relationship status with anyone who cares to listen, over a year after she insisted she was not interested in any romance following the end of her marriage and relocation to North Carolina.

Janelle Brown and her ex-husband Kody Brown announced the end of their marriage in 2022 after nearly 30 years of being in a spiritual marriage, as she felt she outgrew Kody and realized she could lead a strong, independent life on her own.

The reality star hopped on Instagram to introduce her new beau to her teeming followers on Tuesday, August 18. In the caption, Janelle revealed that she has been dating her boyfriend, Pete, for a while, but very privately, acknowledging that some chapters do need to unfold quietly before they can be shared.

“I wasn’t looking. I certainly wasn’t expecting you. And somehow, you turned out to be exactly what I didn’t know I needed. And it has been pretty wonderful. Everyone, please meet Pete,” the reality star added.

Numerous fans were excited about the good news, including Janelle’s former sister wife, Christine Brown, who gushed about Pete and how good they looked together. As stated by PEOPLE, she proceeded to inform the public that their partners have something in common too, as they both work in construction.

While she became the second wife to leave their plural marriage with Kody, right after Christine in 2022, she finally closed that chapter with the family patriarch in January 2026. She revealed on an episode of “Sister Wives” that she had received a spiritual release from her marriage to Kody through their church.

Janelle was beyond pleased to flaunt the release papers in the episode, adding that it was an easy process, as she thought she was going to come back for multiple meetings, but now she is free.

In a 2025 interview, Janelle had declared that of all plans in her life at that moment, marriage or any romantic relationship was the least on the list. After the split from Kody, she jetted off to North Carolina to be closer to her daughter, Madison Brush, and her grandchildren.

Janelle Brown’s Entry Into The Plural Marriage Did Not Please A Former Sister Wife

The reality star married Kody in 1993 in a spiritual marriage, three years after he legally married Meri Brown. However, before the duo became sister wives, Meri and Janelle were actually sisters-in-law because the latter had married the former’s older brother and even attended Meri’s wedding to Kody.

Aside from the complicated family tie, Meri was also displeased at the decision of Janelle and Kody to tie the knot on her birthday, until Kody’s mother shut it down.

As noted by PEOPLE, Janelle had previously explained on the January 4 episode of “Sister Wives” that she met Meri’s older brother while she was a senior in high school, and they got married over a year later.

The union between Janelle and her ex-husband before Kody was actually short, but Meri was haunted by this when she learned Janelle was coming into her marriage with Kody.

According to her, “It was a tough thing to wrap my head around on multiple levels just because she had been married to my brother, you know? And so it was definitely a thing for me, for sure.”

The Mother-Of-Six Suggested A Pricey Solution For Putting Men Off Polygamy

Having witnessed the ups and downs of a plural marriage, the reality star suggested a realistic means to put off polygamy for good. As noted by The Blast, the TLC star argued that granting each wife legal rights to her husband’s assets could make plural marriage financially unattractive.

She reasoned that it was a smart way to solve the issue because few men would willingly divide their assets among four or five wives. Janelle confessed that Meri’s spiritual divorce actually emboldened her to pursue an end to her arrangement with Kody, and Meri had encouraged her through it all.

Both women also united to challenge Kody’s claim that he never truly loved the wives who left him. Janelle suggested that the family patriarch was gradually rewriting their decades-long history rather than taking the blame for his role in the marriage collapse, although his version of events did not matter.

Meri also urged Kody to take responsibility for his actions because while she wanted to save the marriage, she also recognized that their pairing had become unhealthy and needed to end.

Janelle Brown’s Fresh Start Began With A Look Into Her Plan For New Home In North Carolina

The media personality carried her fans along on the journey to putting down roots for her new home in North Carolina. As shared by The Blast, while the first look, which happened in 2024, looked untouched, she assured her fans that changes are coming.

She revealed her plans to preserve the acres in their natural state to maintain the land’s wild character and provide ample space for local wildlife. The property is connected to Taeda Farms, a venture she launched with her daughter Madison and son-in-law, Caleb Brush.

The family project is being developed as a flower farm with homesteading elements, noting that creating the farm will require plenty of hard work and learning. Janelle admitted that the process of transforming the land into something beautiful has been deeply rewarding.

Congratulations, Janelle Brown!

Luigi Mangione Read Biography in Jail Before Murder Plea

Published

Luigi Mangione in court

Luigi Mangione read a book about himself in jail before confessing to shooting and killing UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, according to a fellow inmate.

Linus Fu shared in a new interview that he developed a “really good relationship” with Mangione, 28, while behind bars at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, where they both read author John H. Richardson‘s 2025 biography, Luigi: The Making and the Meaning.

“He’d check my progress all the time,” Fu, 32, told Courthouse News on Tuesday, August 18. “He said, ‘What page are you on right now?’”

Fu recalled asking Mangione whether the information about him in the book was true, to which the Ivy League graduate teasingly confirmed one detail: His favorite video game was Terraria.

Accused killer Luigi Mangione allegedly started a to-do list after the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, a veteran police officer testified in court on Monday, December 8. Christy Wasser of the Altoona Police Department in Pennsylvania said during a pretrial hearing in New York City that she found a red notebook inside Mangione’s backpack […]

Fu, who has since returned home to China after serving time for his involvement in a bank fraud scheme, noted that Mangione became somewhat of a celebrity after arriving at their jail.

“Most people, they know Luigi,” he said of their fellow prisoners. “Some people ask for autographs, some people want to talk to him.”

Mangione has also received an onslaught of support outside of MDC Brooklyn, with many people who are frustrated by the American health insurance system and corporate greed viewing him as a folk hero. An online fundraiser for Mangione’s legal expenses has raised more than $1.5 million as of press time, and his lawyers have stated that he has received thousands of letters in jail.

“A lot of people sent books, different kinds of magazines,” Fu said. “I don’t know why they sent travel magazines to Luigi; that made no sense. He can’t travel. Why would you send him a travel magazine?”

Fu described Mangione as “funny” but “quiet,” revealing the Maryland native mostly worried about his “own business” while incarcerated. Fu added that he once flat-out asked Mangione whether he had murdered Thompson, which led to a telling response.

“He said, ‘I didn’t do that for the fame,’” Fu claimed. “He basically admitted he did it.”

Mangione initially pleaded not guilty to both federal and state charges related to the December 2024 shooting, but he copped to the crime while reading a statement in court on Friday, August 14.

“After years of enduring severe pain from a broken back, navigating the obstacles of the health insurance system and witnessing similar experiences of countless others, I learned that UnitedHealthcare would be holding its annual investor conference in New York City on December 4, 2024,” he began.

Mangione went on to recall using a 3D printer to make a gun and then traveling to Manhattan “with the intent to shoot Brian Thompson,” which he admittedly knew was “illegal.” (The executive, who was 50, is survived by his wife, Paulette Thompson, and their two sons.)

Mangione is scheduled to be sentenced in his federal case on December 18. He faces a maximum of life in prison. The former software engineer’s state case was recently delayed from September to December as his attorneys fight to have it dismissed entirely, citing “double jeopardy” laws that typically bar a defendant from being tried twice for the same offense.

Reba McEntire Gives Details On Upcoming Days-Long Nuptials

Published

Rex Linn and Reba McEntire at the 60th Academy of Country Music Awards

Reba McEntire is bringing fans along with her as she enters a new chapter in her life.

The country singer recently shared what she and fiancé Rex Linn have in store for their upcoming nuptials, and it might not come as such a surprise!

From beloved animals to celebrity appearances, the couple’s plans are shaping up to be intriguing, and fans may be in for an event that lasts longer than a day!

The country music icon gave insight into her upcoming nuptials on Entertainment Tonight, sharing that “it’s not going to be a wedding day. It’s going to have to be three or four days.”

The question of whether the Hollywood couple had plans for a friend to sing at their wedding also came up. McEntire shared that due to the long list of celebrity friends they had, someone was bound to be offended at not being asked to sing, and so she was unsure how they would play out.

The lovebirds are, however, yet to settle on a date. The former “The Voice” coach also opened up about the timeline of the ceremony, claiming that whenever they set a date, Linn would get a job, or they would get back into the third season of “Happy Place,” which the couple co-stars in.

Nevertheless, the 71-year-old promises that their wedding will be a “very unusual event” as the pair plans to tie the knot surrounded by their multiple animals.

“Well, see, not only do we have granddogs, we have long-horned steers, we have donkeys, we have horses, and dogs,” McEntire shared.

When the host jokingly asked if she would make an entrance on a horse, the sitcom star laughed in response, adding that her horse Gator would love that.

Reba McEntire Revealed That Her Animals Would Be A Part Of Her Wedding

Including the animals in the wedding ceremony seems to be a well-thought-out plan by McEntire and Linn, as the country singer had confirmed this back in May.

According to The Blast, the “Cowgirls Don’t Cry” singer revealed that her two grand dogs, Watson and Belle, just might be the ring bearers at her wedding. These grand dogs are owned by her son, Shelby Blackstock, and his wife, Marissa Blackstock.

In addition to the long-horned steers, donkeys, and horses, McEntire also referred to the couple’s cats, who they have a lot of fun with.

While the couple seems sure of certain parts of their nuptials, the exact wedding date remains unknown.

The engagement was confirmed on September 14, 2025, when the Hollywood pair walked the red carpet together for the Emmy Awards, per The Blast.

While speaking with McEntire, a reporter had referred to Linn as her fiancé, to which the country singer gushed, “We’re having a blast on Happy’s Place, and so glad to be here tonight.

The news of the couple’s engagement did not come as a surprise to fans, as Linn and McEntire have known each other for about 35 years. However, the relationship did not progress to romance until 2020, nearly three decades after they first met.

PEOPLE Magazine shared that following the death of her mother, the actor and the country singer drew closer to each other, and they began dating during quarantine.

However, in January of that year, Linn shared a photo of McEntire after they had had dinner together, but it wasn’t till later in October that the country singer confirmed the relationship.

Since then, the couple has kept online supporters in the loop about their relationship, from social media posts to date nights and even romantic trips to Italy.

It seems the country singer has found her happily ever after following a few bumps in the road. McEntire has been married twice and has a son with her second ex-husband.

She seems to be fully content in her relationship with Linn, dishing about the relationship last October.

“I think I’m happier now than I’ve ever been in my life,” she said as reported by The Blast. “It’s amazing. It’s wonderful being 70 and getting to do what I get to do at the level I want to do it.”

The singer highlighted her fiancé’s role in her happiness, saying she hadn’t been loved by such a “tender” man.

Also, during the week of August 24th through the 28th, we’re going to see Sidwell’s assets sold at auction, Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) checking into Pentonville, Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) scheming, and Lucas and Joe having some interesting issues.

And as we always do on early edition day, we go over what’s happening the rest of this week. Then we’re going to talk about what is ahead next week.

General Hospital Spoilers: Nina Clashes with Drew

So, let’s get right to it. Wednesday, August 19th on GH, we’ve got Nina Reeves running into Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) and it is really tense. They may be arguing over Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) because you know Drew is not going to stop until he finds a way to make Nina and Willow pay despite the threat to himself. Also, Nina might talk to Jack Brennan (Charles Mesure) about her encounter with Drew because Jack just ran into Drew the end of last week and threatened him when he saw him being nasty to Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn). After Nina talks to Drew, she’s going to talk to Jack and he advises Nina to pull herself back before Willow takes her down with her.

I’m sure she’s not going to listen. Then Drew has a less contentious run-in at the Metro Court. Ava Jerome (Maura West) is telling Drew she had no idea that hell had frozen over. So he must be giving Ava an update about something that stuns her. Maybe he was polite to Nina. Drew also tells Ava that together they can take Sonny Corinthos down. Out at the gate house on the Quartermaine estate, Willow tells someone that walking away unscathed won’t be as simple as they think.

So, this could be her bickering with Michael. We’ll see. Feels like she’s amping up to doing something. Also, Kai is feeling uneasy about something. He may find out Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) has a stalker. Somebody was watching her. They were at the surf lodge and creeping behind the divider. I suspect it might be Kai’s friend Quinn. We’ll see and Kai may creep up on whoever it is spying on Trina. Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) gets an offer.

Could be from Valentin or it may involve Curtis who is headed off to Pentonville soon. He might offer Jordan that she doesn’t have to wait for him, but I’m sure that she will. Also, Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) an eyeful of something. I’m expecting this to be Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) and Liz because Rick is spiraling out this week.

GH Spoilers: Ric Needs Sonny’s Advice

And then at Sonny’s place, Ric tells his brother that a situation has come up and he might need Sonny’s input on it. So, I wonder if it’s about Dante and Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) or about something to do with the auction. And that same day, somebody gets Sonny’s blessing.

Thursday, August 20th on General Hospital, Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins Bruening) lays into Valentin. Obviously, it’s about Charlotte Cassadine (Bluesy Burke) and it may be about his plan to buy Wyndemere and for him and Charlotte to move out there. Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) introduces Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) to Tristan. And Joss may already know that Tristan is affiliated with the WSB because of Jack. And I wonder if he’s going to be her new love interest because an actor confirmed that he did chemistry reads with both Eden McCoy and Kelly Thiebaud. Dante and Liz are at her place toasting with wine this week. Looks like they are having dinner.

There’s definitely a romantic vibe there. This may be what Rick got an eye full of. So, this dinner may happen Wednesday and I think it may carry over to Thursday because we have Dante listening as Elizabeth opens up on Thursday, but this dinner may have started the day before.

So, Rick may have been peeking in the window. He’s spiraling that same day and then goes to see Lulu and tells her there’s a connection growing between Liz and Dante and if they don’t stop them, they are both going to lose the loves of their lives. We know that’s the same day Rick spirals. And Lulu did want to be with Dante, but he told her no.

General Hospital Spoilers: Sonny Pops Up on Sidwell

And then later, Lulu blew up at him and said she didn’t want him, but I think she still has feelings for Dante. Also, Carly makes a realization about something. Then Friday, August 21st, on General Hospital, Laura Spencer (Genie Francis) has something to ask of Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr), and it may be about Lulu and Charlotte. Sonny makes a surprise visit.

He goes to see Sidwell at Pentonville and I wouldn’t be surprised if Sonny’s taunting Sidwell about getting his peers back and Sonny buying some of Sidwell’s other assets from the police auction at Pentonville. Sidwell walks out to meet his visitor and sees Sonny. And Sidwell says it was only a matter of time before he knew he’d show up. And Sonny says beige is not your color.

General Hospital: Romantic Connections and Custody Battles Ahead

Also, Jordan gets a boost of confidence from somebody. And this may be Curtis. They’re talking at her place this week, saying their goodbyes before he heads off to Pentonville. And Ava reassures Portia Robinson. Ava might be talking to her about Curtis’s incarceration and how it’s going to affect Trina. And I think Ava can offer Portia some good advice, seeing as how Ava has done time at Pentonville. So, she may reassure Portia. Curtis is going to be okay.

Drew offers up an olive branch. This may be with Alexis or Scout Cain (Kayden Brenna Tokarski). We’ll see. Then the week of August 24th through the 28th, we may see Elizabeth taking a step back from Rick because of his jealousy and him spiraling. And of course, Liz is definitely getting closer to Dante. And Lulu and Rick scheming together might just blow up in their faces. It’s chaos at the Quartermaine estate with Willow back at the gate house. She doesn’t like Michael forcing her to live there, but that may change.

We should also see Valentin making moves and buying back Wyndemere and going after some of Sidwell’s other assets. Drew and Sonny are also going after them, so it might be a bidding war. Joe and Lucas get closer, especially now that Joe’s trying to rent the apartment that Lucas already rented out.

So, we’re also going to see Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) and Ava supporting Lucas, and they’ll be over at his new place. There is looking like some romance in the works for Joe and Lucas. We’ll see Anna furthering her plot to kill Britt because she seems to fully be following Ghost Peter’s orders. And I think Anna is going to make some scary plans soon.

General Hospital Spoilers: Hudson Suspects the Truth

Carly keeps strategizing with Hudson Parker (Troy Lennon Appel) trying to get Joss to take over JJ. Carly isn’t going to like Michael helping Josslyn find a CEO to run it. Plus, now we’ve got Jack trying to get info on JJ from Alexis. So, all of this may not be good for Carly. Jordan is going to have a hard time with Curtis being locked up, and I expect her to take it out on Portia and Isaiah because she’s blaming them for it, which is crazy. Speaking of Curtis, he’s going to be in for a shock when he finds out Sidwell is his cellmate in Pentonville.

And I’m guessing he may target Curtis to get back at Jordan and punish her for revealing that she was targeting him the whole time. Hudson’s wheels are turning. He already suspects Phoebe might be his daughter. I mean, I think he’s pretty sure at this point. And that Ethan probably is the one that claimed to be her father and signed away his rights. So Hudson may get to work getting evidence to prove that Phoebe is his so he can take her away from her adoptive parents.

General Hospital Spoilers: Drew Forced to Cave

We might see Scout finally getting to spend some time with Alexis and that side of the family. Maybe because Jack’s putting the screws to Drew. Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) keeps integrating back to life in Port Charles, out of the mob, working with family, romancing Britt, and getting closer to his son Danny and of course the all-important softball team.

Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) keeps sweating the fact that Willow’s back on the property and close to Chase again, and it of course is bothering her. Plus, Brook Lynn is also sweating that she’s keeping the secret from Chase, that she was the other driver in Jordan’s crash that she framed Willow for. That’s going to come out.

It’s going to be bad. Look for more of Ava and Drew conspiring and stirring the pot. Sonny’s not going to like it once he figures out they teamed up.

6 Best Sci-Fi Movies Released Since 1990

Published

on

WALL-E the robot marvels at space dust in 'WALL-E'.

Sci-fi is a genre that has been a pervasive and widely important part of pop culture long before the breakthroughs of feature-length filmmaking. All-time classics like A Trip to the Moon and Metropolis paved the way for sci-fi stories to be told in the cinematic format, as the genre hasn’t slowed down for even a second in the over 100 years of technological advancements in the medium of film. Especially as a genre that is uplifted by the latest technologies and breakthroughs in science, modern sci-fi filmmaking continues to break new ground and evolve upon the strengths of the past.

Sci-fi filmmaking has been at a place of consistently high quality and groundbreaking craft since 1990, as it finds new ways to reinvent itself and shift to fit the capabilities and tastes of both new audiences and die-hard sci-fi fans. Of these prominently celebrated sci-fi films of the modern era, they have managed to be so meticulous in the craft and brilliant in their execution that they are often considered not just the best sci-fi films of the modern age, but some of the greatest sci-fi films of all time.

‘WALL·E’ (2008)

One of many massively celebrated masterpieces from Pixar’s golden era in the 2000s, WALL·E seamlessly blends the bleak consequences of a lifeless, abandoned planet Earth with the charm and joy of a robot love story. The film follows lovable trash-cleaning robot WALL·E as the sole inhabitant on Earth, finding himself on a journey across the cosmos to return humanity to their home planet. It’s one of the most visually striking and beautiful animated films ever made, complete with a timeless message of action and paving the way for the future of the next generation and the planet as a whole instead of lazily going about life.

Its seemingly impossible balancing act of being a perfect dystopian film while also being a lighthearted and approachable family film is one of its greatest qualities, as it never feels the need to talk down to its audience, utilizing the strength of its storytelling at its core. While the film was already massively celebrated when it first released, time has only been kind to the legacy and influence of WALL·E, as it is now considered one of Pixar’s greatest achievements and one of the greatest animated sci-fi films of all time.

‘Terminator 2: Judgment Day’ (1991)

No matter the genre, it’s incredibly rare for the sequel to a genre classic to live up to the legacy and stature of the original film, especially when said sequel goes for a completely different tone and approach from the original. However, James Cameron‘s action-blockbuster approach to Terminator 2: Judgment Day makes it not only better than the original Terminator, but a genuine contender for one of the greatest sequels of all time. It has some of the absolute best action in blockbuster history and features a mixture of exceptional practical effects and groundbreaking computer effects.

Cameron’s inherent strengths as a sci-fi filmmaker are at their absolute apex within this iconic sequel, finding a seamless blend between action and emotion as it ups the ante and stakes of the original film considerably. It helps that the bleak, apocalptic inevitability of the Terminator world makes it one of the most compelling sci-fi worlds out there, with Terminator 2 continuing to emphasize the gravitas and impact of this world. Even as Cameron has continued to deliver great sci-fi movies in the years since, Terminator 2 still stands as one of his absolute greatest achievements as a blockbuster filmmaker.

One of the greatest examples of how an amazing sci-fi story doesn’t have to rely on massive visual effects or hard sci-fi attributes, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind makes perfect use of its soft sci-fi concept for a story of humanity and our relationship with love and memory. It follows heartbroken Joel (Jim Carrey), who decides to get a procedure to remove his ex-girlfriend Clementine (Kate Winslet) from his memory after she did the same. However, Joel comes to realize mid-procedure that he still loves Clementine, now trapped in his mind fighting to maintain his memories.

The abstract visual style and compelling supporting cast do a great job of amplifiying the inherent beauty of the film, yet Eternal Sunshine‘s true brilliance comes from its insightful connection between love, memory, and painful yet important heartbreak. The film speaks to the whims and passion of young lovestruck people in a way few romance films could come close to capturing, with its wild sci-fi concepts playing a major part in its ability to delve into such psychological and meta-physical elements. The fan-favorite has been massively celebrated since its release, with it now being considered one of the greatest romance movies of the 21st century.

Your Fate Has Been Calculated
You’d Survive In…

Your answers point to the world your instincts were built for. This is the universe your temperament, your survival instincts, and your particular brand of stubbornness were made for.

The Resistance, Zion

The Matrix

You took the red pill a long time ago — probably before anyone offered it to you. You’re a systems thinker who can’t help but notice the seams in things.

  • You’re drawn to understanding how the system works before figuring out how to break it.
  • You’d find the Resistance, or it would find you — your instinct for spotting constructed realities is the machines’ worst nightmare.
  • You function best when you have access to information and the freedom to act on it.
  • The Matrix built an airtight prison. You’d be the one probing the walls for the door.

The Wasteland

Mad Max

The wasteland doesn’t reward the clever or the well-connected — it rewards those who are hard to kill and harder to break. That’s you.

  • You don’t need comfort, community, or a cause larger than the next horizon.
  • You need a vehicle, a clear threat, and enough fuel to outrun it — and you’re good at all three.
  • You are unsentimental enough to survive that world, and decent enough — just barely — to be something more than another raider.
  • In the wasteland, that distinction is everything.

Los Angeles, 2049

Blade Runner

You’d survive here because you know how to exist in moral grey areas without losing yourself completely.

  • You read people accurately, keep your circle small, and ask the questions others prefer not to answer.
  • In a city where humanity is a legal designation rather than a feeling, you hold onto something that keeps you functional.
  • You’re not a hero. But you’re not lost, either.
  • In Blade Runner’s world, that distinction is everything.

Arrakis

Dune

Arrakis is the most hostile environment in the known universe — and you are precisely the kind of person it rewards.

  • Patience, discipline, and political awareness are your core strengths — and on Arrakis, they’re survival tools.
  • You understand that the long game matters more than any single victory.
  • Others come to Dune and are consumed by it. You’d learn its logic and earn its respect.
  • In time, you wouldn’t just survive Arrakis — you’d begin to reshape it.

A Galaxy Far, Far Away

Star Wars

The galaxy far, far away is vast, loud, and in a constant state of violent political upheaval — and you wouldn’t have it any other way.

  • You find meaning in being part of something larger than yourself — a cause, a crew, a rebellion.
  • You’d gravitate toward the Rebellion, or the fringes, or whatever pocket of the galaxy still believes the Empire’s grip can be broken.
  • You fight — not because you have to, but because standing aside isn’t something you’re capable of.
  • In Star Wars, that willingness is what makes all the difference.

With so many recent sci-fi movies tapping into the infinite potential and creativity latent to the multiverse, Everything Everywhere All at Once is the absolute best at balancing this inherent madness with a beautiful story of family dynamics and looking for a purpose in life. There are so many different elements that make the film so endlessly compelling, from the exceptional action choreography to the colorful visual style that is constantly changing for each universe and concept.

The modern-day classic stands as the definitive multiverse story, not only because of how it goes to absolute extremes in terms of the comedic and narrative potential of the multiverse, but because the multiverse is simply one element of its greatness instead of the entire appeal. Themes of the immigrant experience, generational trauma, and positivity for life itself make it a much more approachable experience, being a surprisingly emotional roller-coaster that utilizes its own absurdity to catch the audience off guard.

‘The Matrix’ (1999)

While the film was technically released in the 20th century, no singular sci-fi film felt like such a massive leap forward and an omen for the future of sci-fi filmmaking in the new millennium like The Matrix. This legendary blockbuster utilized a captivating central premise and groundbreaking camerawork and action to become a genuine phenomenon that was able to directly compete with the likes of other sci-fi juggernauts like The Phantom Menace. The perfect sci-fi film is sleek and oozing with style from beginning to end, with the brilliance of its filmmaking forging a powerful legacy as one of the greatest sci-fi movies ever made.

It’s a film that proves to be a true best-of-both-worlds in terms of being equal parts an explosive, high-energy blockbuster as well as an insightful, self-reflective story about our relationship with reality and identity in our attempts to control it. Few sci-fi films more distinctly define the past 30 years like The Matrix, being a dominating piece of culture that has persisted in the decades since its release as one of the most influential sci-fi blockbusters ever made.

1

‘Interstellar’ (2014)

In terms of sci-fi films that are making the absolute most out of the modern capabilities of filmmaking and creating a powerful experience that has been the highlight of the genre in the past 30 years, it’s hard to deny the exceptionalism present within Christopher Nolan‘s Interstellar. One of many masterpiece blockbuster experiences from the director, Interstellar‘s sci-fi story of space exploration is a perfect blend of beautiful sci-fi visuals and powerful themes tackling the nature of time and the power of love. It finds inspiration from many sci-fi films of old, utilizing some of the greatest visuals in cinematic history to bring to life its powerful display of the vast cosmos.

The film has been heralded as an icon of sci-fi ever since its release, as an undeniable masterpiece of the genre that will continue to influence the future of sci-fi as one of its greatest stories of the current era. It feels timeless and brilliant in its execution in a way that only the very best sci-fi films are capable of, utilizing the concepts and tools of science fiction to tell a layered story about our own humanity and our relationship with the world as a whole.

Doomsday’ Might Be Hiding Doctor Doom’s Goal in Plain Sight

Published

on

Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom in the Avengers: Doomsday trailer.

If there’s been one recurring element in the marketing for Avengers: Doomsday, it’s that Doctor Doom (Robert Downey Jr.) will be as menacing and complex as he is in the pages of Marvel’s comics. Both the official trailer and a “special look” trailer released at D23 highlight Doom blocking a blow from Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and resurrecting an army of mutant-hunting Sentinels. It’s a line from Sue Storm (Vanessa Kirby) that offers the most intriguing glimpse into Doom’s madness. “He used to be different,” she tells her fellow heroes, implying that she and the rest of the Fantastic Four have a history with the metal-clad monarch. He used to be kind. He used to be caring. And then everything he loved was taken from him.”

The biggest clue to Doom’s loss is a massive painting of a woman holding a child hanging in his castle. The first glimpse of this painting occurred when the official poster for Avengers: Doomsday was released; it can also be glimpsed in the “special look” trailer, where Doom is gazing upon it with a forlorn expression. Speculation is running wild about the painting’s subject, but fans familiar with the comic book lore have deduced it may depict Doom as a child with his mother, Cynthia, whose soul he’s tried to free from Hell.

Doctor Doom May Be Trying To Save His Mother in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’

Before he ruled Latveria with an iron fist, Doctor Doom was Victor Von Doom, the son of a tribe of Romani travelers. To protect her people from the tyranny of Baron Vladimir Fortunov, Victor’s mother Cynthia made a deal with the malevolent Mephisto to augment her magical abilities. However, a battle with Fortunov’s men led to Cynthia’s death, and her soul being dragged into Hell. Victor eventually used both his mother’s magic and his technological skills to try to find Cynthia’s soul; the experiment backfired, scarring him and leading him to don his iconic armor. Doom has also frequently battled Mephisto for his mother’s soul, with the most iconic clash happening in Doctor Strange/Doctor Doom: Triumph and Torment by Roger Stern and Mike Mignola.

Given Doom’s history, it’s entirely likely that his grand goal in Avengers: Doomsday is to remake the world so that his mother can finally be free. If he can’t defeat the Devil, he might as well wipe out all creation and start fresh. It also ties into the line Doom says to the Avengers: “All of you have lived stolen lives. And now you must give them back.” This implies that he resents the Avengers for fighting against time and space itself to save half the universe in Avengers: Endgame, with many fans theorizing that the multiversal Incursions at the heart of Doomsday are fallout from Endgame.

Queens, New York

🕷️ Spider-Man

You carry the weight of the world on shoulders that are younger than they should have to be — funny, loyal, and endlessly self-sacrificing.

  • You do the right thing not because it’s easy, but because no one else will.
  • You understand that responsibility isn’t a burden you choose — it’s one that finds you.
  • Whether it’s a neighbourhood mugging or a multiverse crisis, you show up.
  • Peter Parker’s lesson — that great power demands great responsibility — isn’t a slogan to you. It’s the code you live by, even when it costs you everything.

Hell’s Kitchen, New York

😈 Daredevil

You fight in the shadows between law and chaos, guided by a fierce moral compass that refuses to let the guilty walk free.

  • You use every tool available — your mind, your body, your faith — to protect those the system overlooks.
  • You’ve looked into the darkness and chosen not to become it, though the line has never been easy.
  • Matt Murdock’s duality — champion in the courtroom, devil in the alley — mirrors your own.
  • Relentless, conflicted, and unwilling to stop. That is exactly you.

Stark Industries, Malibu

🤖 Iron Man

Brilliant, driven, and occasionally insufferable — but always the person who solves the unsolvable problem.

  • You lead with your mind and back it up with resources, innovation, and a stubbornness that borders on heroic.
  • You started out looking out for yourself, but somewhere along the way the world became your responsibility.
  • Tony Stark’s arc — from ego to sacrifice — is your arc too.
  • You build, you plan, and when the moment comes, you’re willing to give everything. Because in the end, you’re Iron Man.

New York City

💀 The Punisher

You’ve been through fire that would break most people — and it did change you, completely. What’s left is unyielding, relentless, and operating by a code forged in grief.

  • You don’t ask for forgiveness, and you don’t expect gratitude.
  • You see a corrupt, broken world and you’ve decided to do something about it, consequences be damned.
  • Frank Castle’s war is born from love twisted by loss — and so is yours.
  • Uncompromising and unflinching — the world may not agree with your methods, but your conviction is absolute.

Asgard · Protector of the Nine Realms

⚡ Thor

Powerful, proud, and on a lifelong journey to become worthy of the legend you carry.

  • You lead with strength but have learned — sometimes painfully — that true greatness comes from humility and growth.
  • You’re larger than life, yet more vulnerable than you let on.
  • Thor’s story is one of transformation: from arrogant prince to worthy king, from isolated warrior to beloved protector.
  • You bring the storm when it’s needed — and the warmth when it matters just as much.

Brooklyn, New York · The Avengers

🛡️ Captain America

You believe in something bigger than yourself — and you fight for it even when the world has moved on and nobody else will.

  • You don’t bully the small guy, and you never stop when it gets hard.
  • Steve Rogers didn’t become a hero when he got the serum — he was always one. So were you.
  • Your strength isn’t in your fists; it’s in your refusal to compromise what’s right, no matter the cost.
  • In a world full of people taking the easy road, you’re the one who picks up the shield and stands up — every single time.

In addition to Doom’s prized mural, another massive hint at Cynthia von Doom’s existence lies in the official Marvel exhibit at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. Said exhibit featured costumes from Avengers: Doomsday, including a group of robed figures known as “Latverian Witches.” This immediately sparked a rumor that Wanda Maximoff was one of these witches, but it might be hinting that Doom will track down the coven his mother belonged to in order to help him save her. After all, Cynthia was a powerful witch, so it stands to reason she was in contact with other spellcasters.

Avengers: Doomsday is laying the groundwork for Doctor Doom to become one of the most complex villains in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and the battle to free his mother could be key to making it work. Who wouldn’t move heaven and Earth, or in this case, multiple Earths, to save their mother’s soul?

Avengers: Doomsday premieres in theaters on December 18, 2026.

The 50-year-old said, “We’re good.” After that, she noted that they “just have so much going on with kids” that they’re not concerned with “whatever happened on the show.” Simpson explained, “Because we have our own daily issues. We can’t bring any more.”

After that, the “RHOC” star stated that her husband was aware that she discussed their marriage on the series. According to her, “I don’t think he was like super happy about it, but he also is very authentic on camera like I am so.” She went on to state that Shane understood that the things she mentioned on the show were products of the way she felt in the moment.

The ‘RHOC’ Star Says Her Husband No Longer Working Plays A Part In Their Issues

As the interview continued, the podcast host noted that Simpson’s costar, Gina Kirschenheiter, had told them in a previous interview that some of their marital issues in “RHOC” season 20 were a bit more intense than previously shown.

When asked why she believed her costar would feel that way, Simpson began by highlighting that she and Shane have been married for 18 years. She continued, “I think the shifting dynamic of Shane not working and being like full time with the kids is a lot on him.”

After that, Simpson described how her husband “dealt with” the change, stating that he was “snarky” with her “all the time.” She then admitted she did not know whether that was “a fair assessment.” Simpson then said, “And I just felt overwhelmed by everything that I had to do.

In giving examples, she mentioned their shared podcast, “Legally Brunette,” noting that she does “all the research” for it. The “RHOC” star also stated her commitment to the hit Bravo show as part of what made her feel “overwhelmed,” as well as being a mother.

She then said, “I just felt so overwhelmed by everything.” However, the reality star went on to call their union “a normal marriage.”

Emily Also Says Her Husband Needs Validation

While continuing to discuss her marriage, the podcast hosts noted that Simpson comes off as someone who takes on others’ problems while keeping hers to herself. She agreed before adding, “And I think Shane needs, like- to me, it always seems like he needs a lot of gratitude.”

From there, she joked, “All these people want gratitude- like, let it go. Everybody wants a thank you all the time.” She went on to proclaim, “I’m not that person. I’m not- I show gratitude in loyalty and actions. I’m not a really like verbal kind of person.

Simpson was then asked if Shane liked “words of affirmation.” She responded, “He does, and I’m not that person.” Later, she was asked if things have improved and if he’s “taking more responsibilities off of [her] plate. The “RHOC” star stated, “No. I think it’s just still hard every day.”

Emily Simpson Discussed The ‘Ups And Downs’ In Her Marriage Ahead Of ‘RHOC’ Season 20

Simpson was interviewed by ExtraTV in July 2026 ahead of the season 20 premiere of “The Real Housewives of Orange County.” During the conversation, she was asked about her marriage to Shane after the trailer showed what appeared to be more problems for the couple.

She said, “Here’s the thing, I’ve been married to the same man for 17 years. We have amazing ups, and we have downs, and we have never altered our behavior on camera. So, you know what? The audience can think what they want to, say what they want, but it is a real marriage.”

The mom of three added, “We’re not pretending. We’re not trying to sugarcoat it. We’re not trying to get along because the cameras just got there. We’re like living life and trying to be parents, and trying to navigate marriage, and trying to navigate kids. And I have a son who has lots of issues, and it’s not easy. And so, you know, it is what it is. It’s a real marriage with ups and downs, and all the things.”

The Bravo Star Gave An Update On Her Son

Simpson revealed that her young son, Luke, had been diagnosed with Avoident/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder in July 2025. Most recently, during her Page Six interview, she gave an update on her son’s health.

She said, “You know, it’s hard for me to answer that question. I don’t think that he’s better. I think that we’re still in the trenches and trying to understand everything with him.”

Bold and Beautiful Early Spoilers Aug 24-28: Finn Begs for Mercy & Dylan Claims Victory!

Published

on

Bold and the Beautiful Spoilers: John Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) - Miss Dylan (Sydney Bullock)

Bold and the Beautiful early spoilers for the week starting August 24th with John Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) begging and pleading to put his marriage back together with no idea that Steffy just went behind his back and broke her vows. Plus, Miss Dylan (Sydney Bullock) is going to get her man in every way that she wants him.

Also, during the week of August 24th through the 28th, we’re going to see Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown) causing more problems, Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan) struggling, R.J. Forrester (Brayan Nicoletti) making a pitch, and lots of guilt for Carter Walton (Lawrence Saint-Victor) and Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood).

And as we always do on early edition day, we go over what is happening the rest of this week, then we get into what is coming next week. So, let’s get right to it. Wednesday, August 19th on B&B.

Bold and the Beautiful Spoilers: Steffy Drowning in Guilt

Steffy is struggling because she feels like she can never trust her husband Finn again. She doesn’t want Sheila around at all. But I do give Steffy credit because she was pretty calm when she was talking with Taylor Hayes (Rebecca Budig), but she was shell shocked by waking up with Carter.

Steffy told her mom that Finn didn’t know that Sheila got on the plane and that Finn legit tried to get Sheila to leave and just exit Monaco, go back to LA. So Steffy might play nicer with Finn since she is now drowning in guilt after having slept with Carter. We’re going to see Finn begging forgiveness while Steffy knows she did something so much worse. But I don’t see her taking a softer stance on Sheila, but she may dial it back on heaping blame on Finn.

B&B Steffy Pregnant with Carter’s Love Child?

I don’t see Steffy walking away from Finn for good. But we also know she and Carter were not careful. And you know what that means on a soap. Steffy could be headed for her third paternity test in the next few weeks. We’ll see. Daphne Rose (Murielle Hilaire) is not going to be happy with Steffy or Carter.

And I hope when Finn finds out, he stands up to Steffy after all the years of her bossing him around. She also kissed Liam a few times and never told Finn, which I know bothered a lot of fans, and that’s still a secret. And now, of course, Steffy has shared her body with Carter, which was a huge betrayal to Finn. At Forester Creations, Dylan and Electra are facing off again.

Bold and Beautiful Spoilers: Electra Full Of Herself

Electra Forrester (Laneya Grace) is all pumped up about being the face of the new youth line. R.J.’s honestly the worst influence on her because she’s channeling him when she tells Dylan, “I am Electra Forrester. If I want it, you’re gone.” Dylan replies to that with a glare. And I don’t think she’s going to put up with Electra’s antics. Nor is Dylan going to stop seeing Will. But since Daphne’s not leaving, maybe Dylan can go back to working on fragrance instead of jewelry. Unless, of course, Steffy wants Dylan on the youth line.

Katie Logan (Heather Tom) is suspicious of Dylan’s motives, and Katie’s taking shots of Will this week. Katie needs to want what Will wants, want that for him instead of pushing her agenda. But it’s not going to happen. Katie’s at Will’s beach house and ripping him a new one. She snaps. If he misses Electra so much, why is he hooking up with Dylan? I don’t think Will’s going to take this from his mom.

He really likes Dylan and is not going to want to hear Katie saying nasty things about Dylan. And if Katie reports back to Bill Spencer (Don Diamont) that she told Will to stay away from Dylan, I suspect Bill might tell Katie to leave Will alone and that Electra is bad for their son. Thursday, August 20th, Daphne and Carter talk things through. They reach an understanding. Now that Daphne is not going to Paris and wants to stay with Carter, they may talk about what’s next. They may consider alternate measures like IVF. Things obviously would break with them if Steffy turns up pregnant.

Bold and the Beautiful Spoilers: R.J. Makes a Shift

R.J. talks about his new youth line concept to Zende. And I’m sure this is R.J. telling Zende they need Electra as the face and that it would be the two of them designing together. I think Zende will be ecstatic to hear this news because his designs will finally be put to good use and get off the shelf.

But at the same time, Zende is not a big fan of working with R.J. So, we’ll see how that goes. Friday, August 21st on the Bold and the Beautiful. We’ve got an awkward encounter between Will and Dylan, who run into R.J. and Electra at Bikini, the site of the infamous Eric Punch. I am guessing R.J. and Electra are going out to celebrate the new youth line and run into Will and Dylan hanging out there. They might even be on an official date. But wait to see if R.J. gets into Will’s face again or vice versa.

B&B Spoilers: Will & Dylan Heat Up

Dylan was trying to sell R.J. on the fact that he’s better for Electra and she’s better for Will. But even if R.J. stays zipped, Electra might say some nasty things to Dylan. You know, something different instead of R.J. beefing with Will. I don’t think it’s going to be pleasant and Dylan may wind up going home with Will. Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) listens as Daphne opens up to him and she might be telling Ridge about the big fight and her giving Carter her rings back and then changing her mind.

I’m sure Ridge is going to encourage Daphne to stay with Carter and that they can work things through. And I saw some people joking on soap Twitter about Ridge being excited when he finds out Steffy’s carrying Carter’s child and that Ridge will be the granddad of Carter’s first kid that he ever has. We’ll see if she turns up pregnant, but it is a funny thought.

Bold and the Beautiful: Secrets, Youth Lines, and Relationship Cracks

The week of August 24th through the 28th on Bold and the Beautiful. Sheila knows that she screwed up Finn’s marriage by stalking him to Monaco, but she may make bad matters worse if Sheila shows up to apologize to Steffy, who just wants to never see this woman again. So, if Sheila does that or comes to see Finn at work, he might go nuclear on his mom. And Sheila may also have to face Li Finnegan (Naomi Matsuda) and her wrath for the stunt that she pulled following Finn and Steffy and messing up his marriage.

It’s going to kill Li to see Finn so upset with Sheila to blame. Dylan and Will’s running with Electra and R.J. may be what inspires Will to take Dylan to bed. Official B&B spoilers say by the end of the month they’re making love and it’s everything she’s ever wanted with Will. And this might cement for him that he and Electra are done and it’s time for him to move on. Also, Dylan is likely leaving Forester soon. Whether she’s fired by Electra or quits, either way, I think Dylan’s going to end up over at Logan with Will and Bill and Wyatt Spencer (Darin Brooks) and all of them, Katie probably won’t be so happy.

Bold and Beautiful Spoilers: Carter & Steffy Wrestle with Guilt

Carter and Steffy are going to struggle with the guilt of their secret one night stand. We know the truth will come out and in the end, you know, I do wonder if something will happen like they’re whispering about it at the office and are overheard. That’s typical soap trope stuff. Good thing Katie’s gone because she was always a big eavesdropper at Forrester. R.J. makes a formal pitch to Ridge and Steffy about a new youth line with Electra as the face.

And I think they are going to give it the green light right away. And I can see them planning to use this to blindside Katie and Bill with this launch to compete against Logan. Dylan’s mother, Darcy Dylan (Kelly Sullivan), touches down in LA this week. And it’s a good thing because I’m sure Dylan could use her mom right about now. I can’t wait to see Darcy facing off with Katie, but I think Darcy will probably love Will. We may also see Darcy interacting with Remy Pryce (Christian Weissmann) since he is her nephew, but also a creep. Once Dylan and Will make love, I’m sure she’ll make sure Electra knows.

Bold and the Beautiful Spoilers: Dylan Leaves FC

And if Dylan is still working at Forrester at that point, that will likely be when Electra bounces her out the door. But Steffy may not like that since she’s the one who hired Dylan. We may also see Taylor and Deacon’s relationship starting to have some cracks and be on a decline now that Taylor rejected Deacon’s proposal.

He has said that he understands and Taylor said she appreciates that understanding, but Deacon is still obviously hurt and even worse, he knows that Taylor wanted to marry Ridge not that long ago. So, Deacon should be offended that she doesn’t want to marry him. Out of the two of them, despite Deacon’s criminal past, I actually think he’s the better man. We’ll see how it goes.
