Bill Skarsgård’s R-Rated Thriller On Netflix Is The Platform’s Best True Crime Offering
By Robert Scucci
| Published

The most dangerous thing in the world is a desperate man who feels like he has nothing left to lose. It makes for inherently compelling cinema, especially when the desperation is played with nuance, like in 2025’s Dead Man’s Wire. Based on the real-life 1977 Tony Kiritsis hostage standoff, Dead Man’s Wire is a fictional retelling of the events depicted in the 2018 documentary Dead Man’s Line, written and directed by Alan Berry and Mark Enochs, who consulted screenwriter Austin Kolodney and director Gus Van Sant on the historical context of the nationally broadcast incident.
While I’m not here to nitpick historical inaccuracies, nor do I want to because I’m talking about the film adaptation as a piece of cinematic art, I can confidently say that Dead Man’s Wire is a shockingly immersive period piece. I didn’t stop to verify every car make and model or anything like that, but the movie takes place in 1977, and it convincingly looks like something that came out of that era. While mostly shot through conventional means, we’re also given on-the-street footage that looks like it was pulled directly from police cameras, and there’s even some real archival footage peppered throughout the film in a similar fashion to how Weezer pulled off looking like they were performing in an episode of Happy Days.

And I haven’t even gotten to the best part about Dead Man’s Wire: Bill Skarsgård as the desperate man operating in this lane, and he’s mad as hell!
Make Sure You Get The Apology In Writing
There’s a kind of wish-fulfillment arc that plays out in Dead Man’s Wire that makes it all feel so universal. Tony Kiritsis has a bone to pick with one specific person, M.L. Hall (Al Pacino), who, in a botched real-estate deal, undermined the profitability of Tony’s most recent and valuable investment. Knowing he’s ruined financially if he doesn’t straighten things out, he heads over to Meridian Mortgage Company, where M.L. Hall said he’d be to exchange words, only to find out that he ducked out for vacation early and delegated the meetup to his son, Richard (Dacre Montgomery).

Furious and unable to contain himself, Tony assaults Richard and straps a loaded shotgun to his neck with a wire rig connected to a dead man’s switch. Here’s how it works: if you move enough to trigger the switch, your head will get blown clean off. With Richard and the device in tow, Tony holes up in his apartment and begins making his demands to the authorities. He also places crazed calls to his favorite radio DJ, Fred Temple (Colman Domingo), hoping his story will be broadcast so the public will side with him.
As Dead Man’s Wire slow-burns through its second and third acts, we get a clear glimpse into Tony’s psychology, which, to Bill Skarsgård’s credit, is portrayed with care, nuance, and just the right amount of unpredictable explosiveness lingering beneath the surface. He knows that he’s dead to rights. Everybody saw what he did. But he refuses to buckle under pressure until he’s made whole financially and receives a sincere apology from M.L. Hall, who doesn’t want to kowtow to terrorists and is more than willing to treat his son as collateral if it means he doesn’t have to show any signs of weakness.
Something, Something, Capitalism

While it’s obvious that Dead Man’s Wire is an indictment of capitalism, it’s carefully constructed in a way that allows you to appreciate all of the gray areas. M.L. Hall is your perfect corrupt capitalist, to the point where he’s willing to gamble with his son’s life during a hostage negotiation while sipping mai tais on the beach. But it’s also reasonable to assume that he’s a smart guy who knows he’s crossed every t and dotted every i, legally speaking, and believes people like Tony are all bark and no bite.
Tony, on the other hand, is a loner facing financial ruin who initially only wanted an apology. His whole stunt was orchestrated with the intent of exposing the kind of financial impropriety that happens behind closed doors at Meridian Mortgage. Even if Hall was well within his legal rights to screw Tony over, Tony recognizes that the house always wins and questions the ethics of what happened to him. In his mind, he’s the little guy taking one for the team by hurting the company’s bottom line with bad publicity.

Everybody in Dead Man’s Wire is in the wrong, but it shows just how far a man is willing to go when he’s convinced, without a sliver of doubt, that he was swindled out of his nest egg and the institutions that are supposed to protect him have failed him. It doesn’t condone or condemn the violence, but rather examines the untethered rage that’s unfortunately, and all too frequently, the byproduct of living in a capitalist society where the working man is forever getting screwed by the institutions that run his life.
What’s most telling about this fictional retelling of Tony Kiritsis’ most unhinged moments is how the entire ordeal ultimately resolves. Mental health is brought into question, but it’s a hotly debated topic when discussing the real-life incident. It does make me wonder how unhinged Tony Kiritsis truly was before he decided to take this route. If Bill Skarsgård’s performance is any indication, it certainly feels like an otherwise reasonable man pushed to the brink by a series of personal and financial crises. It’s written all over his face when he has to mean-mug for the camera, but his true personality occasionally slips through the facade when he’s trying to lighten the mood or add some levity to an impossibly high-strung situation.

Dead Man’s Wire offers no easy answers to its unfolding story, but I don’t think it’s supposed to. Its delivery is very much, “this is what happened, as authentically as we could replicate,” forcing the viewer to arrive at their own conclusions after watching the whole thing play out. Like most Gus Van Sant films, this one lingers because it’s supposed to make you uncomfortable, as if you’ve got a dead man’s switch tied to your neck and any sudden movement could end it all.

As of this writing, Dead Man’s Wire is streaming on Netflix.

How Summer House Scandal Reunited Lindsay Hubbard, Carl Radke
Nearly three years after ending their engagement, Lindsay Hubbard and Carl Radke can consider themselves friends again — thanks, in part, to Amanda Batula, West Wilson and Ciara Miller’s love triangle-turned-scandal that rocked the Summer House cast this spring.
“At the same time, I think, we had to go on the journey that we did, I also think that this scandal within our cast, without having a full conversation between you, me and Kyle [Cooke], we almost instinctively banded together to protect our house,” Lindsay, 39, said during her appearance on the Tuesday, June 16, episode of Carl’s “More Life” podcast.
Lindsay added that she and Carl, 41, teamed up with Kyle, 43, to ensure that “no one’s gonna burn our house down except for us.” (Lindsay has been a vocal critic of Amanda’s relationship with West, 31, ever since the pair confirmed their romance in March, as West previously dated Amanda’s best friend Ciara, 30, in 2023. Amanda, 34, and West began dating shortly after the former announced her separation from husband Kyle.)
Lindsay continued, “I think that was, like, a big part [of her newfound friendship with Carl] and [the pair’s Uber Eats commercial in April], the talking more, and you, me and Kyle just playing Red Rover with the world of, like, this is our f***ing house, and you’re not gonna burn it down.”
Lindsay and Carl began dating in January 2022 and got engaged that August. However, Carl later called off their impending nuptials in August 2023, three months before the wedding was scheduled to take place.
Though the exes were estranged for years after their split, they reunited in April for the iconic “Carl’s a Mess” campaign for Uber Eats, inspired by Kyle’s viral quote about how Carl was handling the Amanda and West drama. The ad saw Lindsy consoling a sobbing Carl with an Uber Eats delivery containing snacks and tissues.
“Doing Uber Eats, it brought a lot a of joy to me because I do think we have great chemistry on film like that or on camera,” Carl said on Tuesday, although he admitted that he was nervous about reuniting with Lindsay for the project. “And it brought me back to like how much fun that was. But it just made me happy because I felt like there was a really good bond in some of those moments. It brought me back.”
Elsewhere on the podcast, the pair marked their reconciliation by re-following each other on Instagram. (Lindsay previously had Carl blocked on the social media platform.)
“We’re back, baby!” Carl shouted, with Lindsay agreeing, “We’re so back.”
Following their split, Lindsay moved on with her now-ex Turner Kufe, with whom she shares daughter Gemma, 18 months. Lindsay and Turner split in early 2025, shortly after they welcomed their baby girl. Both Carl and Lindsay are currently single.
“The relationship we have now, and the friendship we have now, it’s been really nice,” Carl said on Tuesday. “And I think, even just watching back season 10, and obviously, it’s very interesting watching back over the last two months. But the bright spot for me this past summer is watching us in some of the dynamic. And I know people enjoy watching it too.”
Lindsay added, “Almost three years later, but we made it. I would say, like, I think you and I have done a really good job at coexisting and continuing to film and be in a house, living together.”

In her cover story with Essence Magazine, Latto discussed motherhood and postpartum, revealing that she’s just “taking it day by day.”
“Some days are better than others, but overall I’m doing well. She gave me more drive if anything. And I have so much help — her dad, her grandmas, we have a whole village. I wouldn’t say it’s postpartum depression, but postpartum itself is definitely a day by day thing,” she explained.
As for who gave her the best advice to prepare for motherhood, Latto credited Sexyy Red.
“She was saying my life is about to change in the best way possible. ‘It’s scary — the change is so big that it is scary — but you got this.’ She said keep your head up through postpartum because it wasn’t easy for her and she hoped it would be better for me. And she said, ‘Your baby is going to make you go way harder. Watch,’” Latto recalled.

Little Mix’s Perrie Edwards Wears 3 Glitzy Wedding Dresses
Little Mix’s Perrie Edwards stunned in not one, not two — but three bridal looks during her wedding with soccer player Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
Edwards, 32, opened up to Vogue about the three looks she wore while tying the knot with Oxlade-Chamberlain, 32, during their romantic wedding in Estoi, Portugal. For her ceremony, Edwards stunned in a Dana Harel lace design — something she “always envisioned [herself] in.”
“It’s just so classic and timeless,” she gushed of the look, which featured long sleeves, a semi-sheer silhouette, an exposed corset and a long train. Edwards accessorized with a long tulle veil, crystal earrings and silver hoops in her cartilage piercings.
For glam, Edwards donned soft makeup including dewy skin, filled-in eyebrows, long lashes, rosy cheeks and pink, lined lips. Her blonde hair was parted down the middle and styled in a slicked-back bun.
“It couldn’t have been more perfect,” Edwards raved, noting it was “the best day of [her] life,” besides the days she welcomed her two kids with Oxlade-Chamberlain, Axel, in 2021, and Alanis, in January. “It’s been a whirlwind!”
“I have a brand new baby, she’s just five months,” Edwards added. “It was so special to have her there in her little dress.”
Following the ceremony, Edwards changed into a Galia Lahav crystal-embellished dress for her first dance, featuring spaghetti straps, built-in bedazzled cups, a sheer skirt and a thigh-high slit finished with a train. She teamed the glitzy number with Jimmy Choo heels.
Edwards took her hair down for her first dance and wore her mane in loose curls.
Lastly, she changed into a custom mini dress from Annie’s Ibiza. Edwards circled back to her lace theme in the frock, which featured short sleeves, a corset and a cowl skirt. Her look was complete with a headdress that covered her hair and Christian Louboutin heels. “I wanted to change for the evening so I could dance and be free,” she explained. “It was short and fun and fab and cinched to the heavens with the corset!”

While getting ready for her big day, Edwards shared a memory of losing her diamond necklace, which Oxlade-Chamberlain gave her when she gave birth to Axel. “I wear it every single day, but the day before I came to Portugal, it went missing,” she said. “I cried all day, we looked everywhere – we even checked the Hoover – but it was gone. I was convinced someone had stolen it.”
Hairstylist Aaron Carlo then saved the day while he was sorting through her hair extensions and found the jewelry. “He said, ‘OK, Perrie: what I’m about to show you is your something old, your something new, your everything in one, and you’re going to cry,’” she recalled. “I sobbed. I was so happy and so relieved. It set the tone – I knew from that moment it was gonna be the best day ever.”

Hints About Why Jelly Roll Ended Bunnie Xo Marriage Surface
Before news of their divorce became public, Bunnie Xo was already pushing back against speculation about her marriage to Jelly Roll.
During a past episode of her “Dumb Blonde” podcast, she explained that her absence from many of his public appearances was due to months of IVF treatments, not relationship problems.
However, following reports that Jelly Roll filed for divorce in May 2026, fans began revisiting several social media posts and public moments that now appear to hint at challenges behind the scenes.

Months before news of their split became public, Bunnie Xo was already addressing speculation about her marriage to Jelly Roll.
During an August 2025 episode of her “Dumb Blonde” podcast, the 46-year-old media personality pushed back against online rumors suggesting trouble in their relationship because they were no longer appearing together as frequently.
According to Bunnie, there was a simple explanation. She revealed that much of her time had been devoted to fertility treatments as the couple explored having a child together.
“Someone said the other day, ‘They used to always be together, and now you never see them together,’” she shared on the podcast, per Us Weekly. “I’m like, ‘Do you guys not know that for the past six months [that] I’ve been trying to make a baby?”
The comments resurfaced after reports emerged that Jelly Roll, whose real name is Jason Bradley DeFord, filed for divorce in Tennessee in May 2026, ending nearly a decade of marriage.
Around the same time, Bunnie posted a reflective message on social media about rediscovering her “sparkle,” prompting further discussion among fans.
Bunnie Xo Revealed IVF Struggles Amid Rumors About Her Marriage To Jelly Roll Being Strained

The pair had faced similar speculation throughout 2025 as Jelly Roll’s career continued to soar.
Between a European tour with Post Malone and a highly publicized visit to Vatican City, where he met Pope Leo XIV, the country star spent much of the year on the road while Bunnie remained largely out of the spotlight.
Addressing the rumors at the time, Bunnie explained that her absence from public appearances had little to do with relationship problems and everything to do with the emotional and physical toll of IVF treatments.
She described the experience as challenging, saying she had spent months navigating medications, setbacks, and the uncertainty that often accompanies fertility journeys.
“My husband has to work to f-cking bring home the bacon,” she told listeners. “Luckily, I get the luxury of working from home. He doesn’t. He has to make appearances, but I literally have been on IVF meds for f-cking six months and going through heartbreak and f-cking so much sh-t.”
Bunnie Xo Reflected On Overcoming Jelly Roll’s Past Infidelity Months Before Divorce News

Despite the speculation, the pair continued to make public appearances together earlier this year, attending a pre-Grammy event before sharing affectionate moments on the Grammy Awards red carpet.
Their relationship had weathered difficulties before. In her memoir, “Stripped Down: Unfiltered and Unapologetic,” released in February, Bunnie spoke candidly about rebuilding trust after Jelly Roll’s past infidelity.
Rather than defining their marriage, she said the experience ultimately became a turning point that transformed both of them and reshaped their understanding of love and commitment.
Jelly Roll Praised His Estranged Wife For Speaking About Their Marriage Struggles

Jelly Roll later acknowledged that revisiting those chapters of their lives through the memoir was not always easy.
However, he praised Bunnie for telling her story openly and honestly, expressing admiration for her willingness to discuss painful experiences and personal challenges without holding back.
“I’m just proud of her for telling her story so unapologetically,” the country music star said at the time.
He added, “I mean, she talks about everything fearlessly, from domestic assault to sexual assault. I’m just proud of her. She’s so brave.”
Fans Revisit Bunnie Xo’s Cryptic Posts And Jelly Roll’s Missing Ring After Divorce Filing

Yet in the weeks leading up to the divorce filing, fans now believe there may have been subtle signs that things had changed behind the scenes.
According to court documents, Jelly Roll filed for divorce on May 18, citing irreconcilable differences and listing May 9 as the couple’s date of separation.
Just days later, Bunnie posted a TikTok video that has since taken on new meaning. Referencing women’s intuition and situations that “don’t add up,” the post prompted many followers to wonder whether she had been quietly hinting at personal struggles all along.
After the divorce news broke, commenters flooded the post with reactions, with one fan writing, “Bunnie was dropping the tea in real time, and we all did not clock it.”
The speculation only intensified in early June when Jelly Roll took the stage at CMA Fest in Nashville without his wedding band, a detail that didn’t go unnoticed once reports of the split surfaced.

Prime Video’s Newest Book Adaptation Is the Perfect Watch for ‘Summer I Turned Pretty’ Fans
Since its 2022 premiere, audiences have been enamored by the romance of The Summer I Turned Pretty. While everyone at Cousins Beach seems to have found their happy ending, somewhere in Barry’s Bay, a young woman is about to confront the consequences of her past in the streaming platform’s latest book-to-screen adaptation. Every Year After checks every box for viewers craving more TSITP-style drama: childhood friends, dreamy locations, and lots of messy emotions. With The Summer I Turned Pretty movie release date still unconfirmed, Every Year After will be the perfect series to fill the void in the meantime.
‘Every Year After’ Is Based on Carley Fortune’s Book ‘Every Summer After’
Every Year After is based on Carley Fortune’s novel Every Summer After, a book that alternates between two timelines much like the show. In the present, readers are introduced to 30-year-old Persephone “Percy” Fraser (Sadie Soverall), who has spent most of her life in Toronto. In the book, she works as a senior editor for an interior design magazine, but Percy is also haunted by memories of her childhood, which she has spent years trying to bury ever since she turned 18. When she receives a call informing her of a loved one’s death, she is suddenly pulled back into the past. Forced to confront everything she left behind, Percy packs her bags and returns to the one place she has sworn never to return to for the last 12 years: Barry’s Bay.
In the past timeline, the story follows Percy year by year, across six summers, all the way to her final year in Barry’s Bay. Long before she became the guarded version of herself seen in the present day, 13-year-old Percy was a shy horror nerd with towering insecurities and a fragile friendship with Delilah (Abigail Cowen), one of the most popular girls at school. When her parents purchase a cottage in Barry’s Bay for their summer vacations, Percy’s lonely summer becomes a lot rowdier after she meets the Florek brothers: Charlie (Michael Bradway) and Sam (Matt Cornett).
‘Every Year After’ Stays True to Source Material While Expanding Character Development
Like any book-to-television adaptation, Every Year After takes some creative liberties. Instead of being a magazine editor, Percy works as an obituary writer for a Seattle newspaper. Barry’s Bay is not set in Ontario but is reimagined as a fictional location in British Columbia. As seen in the official trailer, Percy does not return to Barry’s Bay alone; she is joined by her best friend Chantal (Aurora Perrineau). In the novel, Percy only interacts with her via phone or text, but in the series, Chantal joins the journey, allowing the show to expand on Percy’s friendships outside her relationship with the Floreks.
This same depth is given to additional side characters, such as Delilah, who moves beyond just being a popular girl, Sue (Elisha Cuthbert), Sam and Charlie’s mom, and Sam’s best friend, Jordie (Joseph Chiu). Every Year After still stays faithful to its source material with some of the book’s most iconic moments. Most notably, the series shows us Sam and Percy’s present-day reunion at The Tavern, where Sam repeats the novel’s memorable line, “You came home.” But for lovers of the anatomy book scene, the show takes a bit of a different approach. The same can be said for how the season ends, which naturally leads the show into a potential second season.
Lola Tung Delivers Shocking Update on ‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’ Movie [Exclusive]
Lola Tung will next be seen opposite Lili Reinhart, Victoria Pedretti, and Alexandra Shipp in the horror-comedy ‘Forbidden Fruits’.
‘Every Year After’ Isn’t Just a Copy of ‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’
It’s easy to see why Every Year After gives off strong TSITP vibes. The two shows have striking resemblances when it comes to characters. During their teenage years, Percy and The Summer I Turned Pretty’s Belly (Lola Tung) are remarkably similar: both are young, naïve, and far more inexperienced than their peers, eager to appear more mature than they truly are. Most importantly, neither Percy nor Belly had experienced a serious romance before their summer vacations. Like TSITP‘s Fisher brothers, the Florek brothers are opposites: Charlie is outgoing and charismatic, while Sam is quiet and reserved. Percy also shares a close bond with the Floreks’ mother, Sue (Elisha Cuthbert), similar to Belly’s relationship with Susannah Fisher (Rachel Blanchard).
However, where it differs from TSITP is in its approach to conflict. Every Year After doesn’t have a love triangle overarching the majority of the storyline. It is about Percy learning how to forgive herself for her past mistakes. Percy’s actions in the novel cause a major rift between her and the people around her. Percy, unlike Belly, is returning to Barry’s Bay over a decade later, just when old wounds have started to fully heal. The storylines presented in the show feel far more heavy than the ones in The Summer I Turned Pretty. Every Year After retains the dreamy summery vibes found in TSITP, but at the same time, it has a more mature appeal, with the idea of learning to own up to your mistakes and no longer running away from the problem being a major part of Percy’s storyline. This makes it the perfect choice to fill in the void while waiting for The Summer I Turned Pretty movie!

General Hospital LEAK: Cullum Marked for Murder – Jason’s Explosive New Storyline Begins!
General Hospital fans, we have got another rumor roundup for you from our inside sources, including a timeline for horrible Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) dying and finally going to meet his maker. Also, about what Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) does when he is back on the scene. In just a few weeks, we will also talk about what happens when Lulu Spencer finds out the truth about her lover.
And before we dive in, I always want to make clear, I like to clarify that when I do these rumor roundups, these are leaks. They are not official spoilers. We have a couple of sources. One has a really good track record. The other I will say is more like 70% accurate, but I love rumors.
General Hospital: Dominic Zamprogna Discusses Dante and Lulu
So, here we go. And in addition, a few bits of leaked info came straight from an actor at a recent fan event. So, let’s start with that. Then, we’ll get into the stuff from our behind-the-scenes sources. So, actor Dominic Zamprogna, who of course plays Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna), did a fan event recently with Alexa Havens, who plays Lulu. And then Dominic did an interview that with somebody different as well. So here’s what came out of all of that.
First, in the interview, he talked about Dante and Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) and seems to be very excited about them. He also confirmed there is no Dante and Lulu romantic reunion in sight. So even when she finds out about Cassius Faison (Ryan Paevey), she doesn’t turn to Dante.
And speaking of at the fan event, looks like Dominic talked about Cassius and Lulu. So reportedly, Dominic said that Lulu finds out that Cassius is not Nathan. So she slept with Cassius basically under false pretense, not knowing who he was. But Dominic said that Lulu is not angry, but she is hurt. And he said that Cassius does truly love Lulu and doesn’t want to see her hurt.
Dominic also said that Dante won’t be police commissioner for too much longer. When Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) is back, despite her mental breakdown, she is going to get her job back. Dominic also reportedly said that Ryan Paevey has wrapped his run. So if that’s true, that means Cassius is going to die or leave. It kind of makes sense because he’s a villainous henchman for Sidwell and Cullum. And Dominic also said that Dante admits to Anna that he got rid of the evidence about Cullum’s shooting.
General Hospital: Cullum’s Death and Serena Baldwin’s Return
And speaking of that very bad man in charge of the WSB, we’ve heard for a while that his counterpart Brennan was going to be killed off, but the powers that be might have changed their minds. So here’s what we’ve heard. Ross Cullum will be dead within the next two weeks. And I am totally down for that. That’s also right at the beginning of July sweeps. So it makes a lot of sense.
And there’s more WSB info from the leak. The chatter is about recast Serena Baldwin who’s going to be played by Kelly Krueger. She first airs in July. So, she’s rumored to arrive as a WSB agent working under Brennan. And rumor has it that Serena will investigate Cullum’s death. And Serena also reportedly helps clean up the mess Cullum left behind as well as working to address the power vacuum in the WSB that was caused by his death.
General Hospital: Jason’s Return and WSB Storyline Pivot
All right, let’s get into now this storyline pivot for Jason. When he returns, he’s back on screen in July. We heard backstage chatter for a while that the showrunner has wanted to pivot from mob stories and to get more into WSB stories. I don’t hate that. I loved back in the day with Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) and Anna and Shawn Donnelly, all that international spy stuff in the 80s and 90s heyday. So, the rumor is Anna convinces Jason to join the WSB. Yes, you heard it.
So, we know, of course, that Brennan has wanted him and made efforts to get Jason to work for him, but he always refused. So, we’ve heard that Serena is assigned as Jason’s handler, and reportedly Frank Valentini is behind this. Word is the showrunner wants to make Jason and Serena into the next Robert and Anna, a super spy duo. And our source says that they sourced Serena, aged her up, and brought her back specifically for this storyline. She should be 33 and the new actress is 43. So, I don’t know if I’d even call that a rapid age-up. It’s not much of an age gap.
General Hospital: Serena and Drew Romance Ahead?
And just to spill all the tea, we had what may be a conflicting rumor from our other less reliable source that said Serena would be Drew Cain’s (Cameron Mathison) next love interest. The source said they screen tested four actresses with Cameron Mathison and chose Kelly Krueger. That does seem contradictory. However, given how much soaps love a triangle, it could be Serena is involved with first one brother and then the other. Wouldn’t be the first time Jason and Drew had overlaps in their love lives.
And I will say we’ve been hearing for a while that Jason and Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) won’t last. We’ve also heard that Jason was meant to join the WSB when Steve Burton first came back to General Hospital this go round and that was part of why he returned after his absence over the whole vaccine thing.
So, there was supposedly an issue with the recast of Jagger Cates, who was supposed to be Jason’s first WSB handler. We heard some backstage drama about casting that they didn’t get who they wanted in the role of Jagger. So, they went a different direction and kicked the WSB and Jason’s storyline down the road. But now that Steve Burton is back from hiatus, I guess we’ll see Jason soon and whether he joins the WSB or not.

General Hospital: Jason’s Indonesia Storyline and Rumored New Castings
Our General Hospital source also said Burton’s character will be on-screen but stuck in Indonesia for a month or so, which is where he is being held by the WSB now. So, the source also kind of called out the headwriters saying they don’t write returns very well. And if you remember last time Burton came back when he was patient six, I think it was about a month or more lag as well. First he was in that clinic where Ava Jerome (Maura West) spotted him and then it was like four to five weeks later Jason crashed through the ceiling of the Metro Court to save Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco).
So I totally believe that we get Jason back but not back in Port Charles for a while. Additionally, our source said there’s a major new female hire coming soon. However, that leak may be referring to hiring Kelly Krueger as recast Serena Baldwin. We’ll see. We’ve also seen several males recently hired. I’m just not sure Port Charles needs more citizens at this point, but we heard that one of these new men coming is a potential pairing for Brooklyn Quartermaine (Brook Kerr) because her marriage seems to be on a downhill spiral towards an inevitable split because of her lies and schemes and of course because of Chase’s (Josh Swickard) naivete when it comes to murderous Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen).
General Hospital: Cassadine Returns and Unconfirmed Rumors
That’s also a big problem. And then we’ve got stuff from the leaker whose track record isn’t nearly as good. So, these things I definitely take with a whole block of salt, not just a single grain of salt. One is that two Cassadines return this fall. Not one, but two. And they’re both supposedly old school Cassadines.
So, maybe Helena is back as someone’s nightmare. Maybe her son Valentin. You know, most of the other Cassadines are dead. Victor got nuked on that boat. Dante shot and killed Stavros. Then again, Cassadines are hard to kill. I do think it’d be super nice if we got Nicholas Cassadine back either with another recast new face or with Marcus Col or Adam Hus.
And we have heard that there’s a woman named Norico who was cast as a recurring nurse character. All right, that is the last of our rumor roundup. We’ll see how much of this manifest and how much was just idle backstage chatter.

West Wilson’s exit from Summer House isn’t a surprise to a large number of Bravo fans after his controversial relationship with Amanda Batula shook the cast to its core — but how did the arguably inevitable goodbye all go down?
“It was a mutual decision between the network and West,” a source exclusively tells Us Weekly, noting that West, 31, went into the season 10 reunion “already feeling like his time on the show was coming to an end.” (Us confirmed on Monday, June 15, that West is not returning to the hit reality series.)
The insider notes that after the three-part reunion aired — much of which was focused on his relationship with Amanda, 34, following her split from husband Kyle Cooke in January — West’s future on the show was seemingly set in stone.
“It became even clearer that there wasn’t a long-term fit anymore,” the source says. “He is at peace with the decision and is focusing on his podcast and other business ventures.”
A second source exclusively tells Us that there was more behind-the-scenes drama between West and his castmates than his controversial romance with Amanda. (West’s past relationship with Ciara Miller, one of Amanda’s closest friends, also caused tension among the group in addition to his betrayal of Kyle, 43, with the Amanda hookup.)
According to the second insider, West wasn’t asked back for season 11 because he “tried to get Kyle, Lindsay [Hubbard] and Carl [Radke] fired.”
“His goal was to be with Amanda and then just film with his friends,” the source claims.
Kyle, Lindsay, 39, and Carl, 41, are the three original Summer House stars with Amanda initially being Kyle’s “girlfriend” on the show season 1 before being upgraded to a full-time cast member.
West, meanwhile, didn’t join the Bravo series until season 8 alongside Jesse Solomon, both of whom quickly became fan favorites.

“He’s told producers that Lindsay shouldn’t film pregnant and being a new mom because it’s a show about singles and having fun in the summer,” the second source tells Us, referring to Lindsay shooting season 9 while she was expecting her first baby. (Lindsay welcomed daughter Gemma with now-ex-boyfriend Turner Kufe in December 2024.)
The insider adds, “Amanda knew about that and Lindsay was pissed.”
When it comes to Kyle and Carl, West tried to make the BFFs “look bad,” telling producers behind the scenes that the show “would be better with him and new friends,” the source says.

Outside of his alleged personality disputes, West “didn’t show his personal life on the show and he was dating other women who no one knew about,” which the insider tells Us played part in his departure.
During the season 10 reunion, part 3 of which aired on June 9, West was confronted about his previous relationship with Meija Moreno during summer 2025 — when he was getting close with ex Ciara, 30, and kissing her in the Hamptons — as well as the weeks leading up to his public announcement in March regarding his relationship with Amanda.
West insisted that Meija wasn’t his “girlfriend,” but eventually confessed that she thought they were “exclusive” while he wasn’t operating under that same assumption.
“There’s a tear in the friend group. The cast doesn’t want to film with him,” the source tells Us of West, adding that Amanda is “still friendly” with Jesse, 33, and her estranged husband Kyle.
The rest of the cast is not “speaking” to Amanda, so the insider says it’s “still up in the air if she’s going to come back” for season 11.
When it comes to Amanda and West’s future as a couple, the first source says Kyle and Lindsay have “joked” that they “are not going to last.”
The insider adds that “the cast basically has a countdown for when this will all blow up.”
Amanda and West, meanwhile, are “still fully committed to each other,” according to the source, who tells Us that while things “haven’t been perfect” they are still together.
“It’s not all butterflies and rainbows,” the insider says, pointing out that the reunion was “hard” on the new couple.
Amanda “didn’t feel supported” by West after the dramatic reunion, which the source says was a “huge point of contention.”
Despite the drama, the insider adds, “Both of them feel they are in too deep for them to break up at this point.”
Us Weekly has reached out to Bravo for comment.
Summer House: The Aftermath airs on Bravo Tuesday, June 16, at 8 p.m. ET.

Bold and the Beautiful: Hope Panics & Demands to Leave – Liam Tries to Talk Her Down!
Bold and the Beautiful spoilers point to Hope Logan (Annika Noelle) freaking out and considering backing out of her deal at Logan at the last minute. But I think if she tries that, Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) will be the voice of reason to talk her down and convince her to move forward rather than backing out on Katie.
And already this week, we saw some cracks in Hope’s armor when she was talking to Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang). And I think it’s going to get worse sooner rather than later.
Bold and the Beautiful: Hope’s Doubts as Steffy Makes an Offer
All right, let’s talk about what is on Hope’s mind this week. So, as this week’s episodes began, she was telling Brooke that she doesn’t want to let her down and she reassured Hope that she could never disappoint her. Uh, sure thing, Brooke. The bottom line is Hope is still very worried and rightly so. So, Brooke left and then Hope said to herself that it’s too late to back out now and she hopes this doesn’t ruin her relationship with Brooke. However, it looks like the pressure is going to amp up on Hope and it’s going to cause more doubts and second thoughts this week as she gets closer to her upcoming launch.
Official Bold and the Beautiful spoilers say Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) makes Brooke a promise presumably about the timeline on reviving Hope for the Future. And then Steffy makes a last-minute offer that changes everything. And that offer has Brooke ready to celebrate a bright future with Hope presumably at Forrester Creations. So I suspect Steffy is going to officially greenlight Hope’s line and Brooke’s going to be over the moon. So, she’s going to tell Hope that she can end her leave of absence and come right back.
We already saw Brooke telling Hope this week that Hope for the Future is primed to relaunch. So, once Steffy makes that offer, it’s going to change everything. Because she and Brooke assume that Hope will be thrilled and will come running right back to Forrester Creations. But she can’t.
Bold and the Beautiful: Brooke Confronts Katie While Hope Hides
And then also this week, Steffy tells Brooke that she thinks that Hope is hiding something that she doesn’t want them to know. So that’s a problem. And we’ve got Brooke storming over to Logan this week, ranting at Katie, demanding to know who’s her new designer. Brooke’s unhinged demands. Maybe because she worries in the back of her mind that Katie has stolen somebody else from Forrester Creations. But just can’t figure it out. So, Brooke threatens to search the offices until she finds out who Katie hired as her new designer.
Meanwhile, Hope is hiding in the room behind that screen, listening to her mom, Brooke, unravel. So, Katie Logan (Heather Tom) distracts Brooke long enough for Hope to sneak out of the room. And I think her seeing Brooke that way is just a whole lot for her to try and cope with.
Bold and the Beautiful: Brooke Gets it Wrong?
Brooke has really gaslit herself into believing that Katie somehow brainwashed Eric Forrester (John McCook) into working for her. Like, like he was tricked or something. Plus, Brooke thinks that she’s entitled to their name. But you can’t keep a trademark you don’t use. So, Forrester Creations was squatting on it and then they let it expire. Even if they could have renewed it, Katie probably could have fought them and won it.
But basically, Brooke has decided Katie has done bad things to Eric and her. You know, Brooke’s wrong about Eric, and the name is debatable. But she’s not wrong that Katie has stolen from her. It’s just that Brooke doesn’t know exactly what Katie stole, which is Brooke’s daughter, Hope. And that’s going to be explosive.
Bold and the Beautiful: Hope’s Internal Conflict and Last-Minute Doubts
But Hope seeing her mom like this freaks her out. And she may legit worry that Brooke will rage at her the way she’s raging at her sister, Katie. and that Brooke may never forgive Hope. Valid concerns already. She thinks that Brooke always chooses Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) over her and Hope may think that, you know, Brooke may reject her over this. Clearly, Hope doesn’t want to hurt Brooke and doesn’t want to ruin their mother-daughter relationship. But at the same time, Hope feels like she’s doing what’s best for her and her career. It’s not about slapping at Brooke. It’s about Hope feeling belittled and dismissed by Steffy in particular.
Bold and the Beautiful: Steffy’s Line Changes Everything
So Hope’s main problem, you know, obviously is with Steffy. But Hope also has some pretty big issues with Ridge. Not only does he side with Steffy over her 99% of the time, but he also rejected Hope’s big scheme to get Brooke appointed co-CEO and Steffy kicked out. Plus, Ridge called Hope the B-word last year during the coup, and he told Hope that everybody hates her, and then he fired her, and walk of shamed her out of Forrester Creations. So, Hope’s issues with Ridge are understandable, like her issues with Steffy are about Hope for the Future. So, this emotional stuff is really getting to Hope this week.
She doesn’t want to hurt Brooke. But at the same time, Hope’s glad to be at Logan where she finally feels appreciated and she’s got her brother Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan) there. But once Steffy says it’s time to bring back her line, things are really going to shift. Because Brooke’s excited and assumes that Hope’s going to scurry back to Forrester Creations, that’s when things are going to hit the point of no return.

Bold and the Beautiful: Eric’s Betrayal and Hope’s Potential Exit
Eric pulled a fast one on Katie by bailing on her after Eric basically forced himself in as Katie’s first designer. He wouldn’t take no for an answer. And then after, you know, months of working together, Eric ghosted Katie and then he called the day of the launch and Eric said, you know, don’t use the designs, the ones that they had paid for that he specifically made for Katie. I thought Eric’s behavior was unprofessional and rude. Because he’s the one who insisted to Katie that he wanted to do one collection for Logan.
So Bold and the Beautiful could be hinting that Hope might do something similar to what Eric did to Katie and you know Hope’s panicking about Brooke’s disapproval and she may tell Liam and Katie that you know what, I just can’t do this. She may try to back out. But they’ve invested so much into Hope that I don’t think they would stop anyway.
But at the same time, I can see Liam stepping in and talking Hope down and telling her that this is an important moment. And once the launch happens at Katie’s fashion house, at that point, Hope will be forever free from Forrester Creations and Steffy and Ridge and all the aggravation.
Bold and the Beautiful: Hope Bails?
And Liam could assure Hope that even if Brooke is mad, she will understand in the end. But if Steffy promises her everything that Hope has said she’d wanted, you know, she may be tempted to bail on Katie, first. Because she wants respect and it’d be nice to get it. Second, she is scared of Brooke’s reaction.
And I’m sure that Liam would remind Hope that a huge selling point for her being at Logan is she gets to work with her brother Deacon. And also Liam’s really happy to have Hope working with him at the family company. Liam loves being there with Hope every day. And of course, Katie was so thrilled to be working with her niece, Hope. And she and Bill Spencer (Don Diamont) are giving Hope the respect and the support that Katie knows that Hope never got at Forrester Creations.
So, I do expect though that Hope is going to have very, very serious last-minute doubts and may consider bailing. But I also don’t think Liam is going to let Hope give up on her dream so easily. So, this is tough and I expect to see Hope really struggling by the end of the week and into next week. But I suspect between Katie, Liam, Bill, and Deacon that they will calm Hope down and that she decides to just go for it. And then of course, Brooke’s going to lose it.

Henry Cavill’s 3-Part Detective Saga Officially Returns to Netflix in 2 Weeks
After several recent box-office setbacks, Henry Cavill can hope to finally have a hit to his name soon. The actor was most recently seen in Guy Ritchie‘s action film In the Grey, which grossed around $17 million at the box office against a reported budget of $70 million. Before that, he starred in Ritchie’s The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, which grossed less than $30 million worldwide against a reported budget of $60 million, and in Argylle, which failed to crack the $100 million mark despite costing a reported $200 million. Cavill has a potential franchise-starter, Highlander, lined up for release next year, but before that, he’ll reprise his role as Sherlock Holmes in Enola Holmes 3.
The third installment in Netflix’s popular mystery series will be headlined, as usual, by Millie Bobby Brown. Louis Partridge returns as her soon-to-be husband, Tewkesbury, while Helena Bonham Carter and Himesh Patel reprise their roles as Eudoria Holmes and Dr. Watson. Enola Holmes 3 is the first film of the trilogy not to be directed by Harry Bradbeer; instead, it was helmed by Philip Barantini, who reunited with Adolescence writer Jack Thorne. The prolific scribe penned both previous installments, which were well-received by critics and audiences alike.
Here’s When You Can Watch ‘Enola Holmes 3’ on Netflix
The first Enola Holmes movie was released in 2020. It holds a “Certified Fresh” 91% score on the aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes, where the consensus reads, “Enola Holmes brings a breath of fresh air to Baker Street — and leaves plenty of room for Millie Bobby Brown to put her effervescent stamp on a franchise in waiting.” Released in 2022, Enola Holmes 2 now holds a “Certified Fresh” 93% score on Rotten Tomatoes. The aggregator’s consensus reads, “Building on its predecessor with boisterously entertaining flair, Enola Holmes 2 solves the mystery of how to make a satisfying sequel — and makes it look positively elementary.” Enola Holmes 3 will be released on Netflix on July 1. In the meantime, audiences can check out Prime Video’s Young Sherlock, which debuted earlier this year and has been renewed for a second season. Also in the works is a new series revolving around Sherlock’s arch-nemesis, Moriarty.
Enola Holmes 3 debuts on Netflix on July 1. Stay tuned to Collider for more updates.

Days of our Lives: Johnny Risks Everything for Chanel – Following Grandpa John’s Footsteps?!
Days of Our Lives divulges that Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) is worried sick about Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens) cancer, and he wants to make sure that she and their unborn baby come through this health crisis safely and sound and in one piece. So Johnny will do anything to save Chanel. Risk absolutely everything for her.
We’re going to talk about whether Johnny is about to live up to his grandpa John Black’s (Drake Hogestyn) legacy and do something heroic.
Days of Our Lives: Johnny’s Legacy – Living Up to John Black
And now let’s get into what is coming as Chanel’s health crisis gets even worse. So although Johnny was probably too young at the time to remember a lot of it, Days of Our Lives fans know that Johnny is also a cancer survivor. He had ocular cancer. That is eye cancer when he was about four years old and he actually lost an eye to that disease. He’s supposed to have a glass eye. If you don’t remember, they just don’t refer to it. And obviously both of his eyes are real already.
His wife Chanel has that terrible health scare if you remember when she was exposed to her mom Paulina Price’s (Jackée Harry) radiation from her thyroid cancer treatment. That’s why Chanel was warned that she should not get pregnant. And it’s why she assumed that it was actually cancer symptoms, not pregnancy symptoms. She was really surprised when Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) said she was pregnant. And now with this breast lump that Johnny felt in Chanel’s chest turning out to be breast cancer, they are in for honestly one of the toughest battles of their lives.
She and Johnny were already expecting a high-risk pregnancy ordeal and the breast cancer just made everything riskier. On top of all that, they’re raising their adopted infant son, Trey, aka John Roman DiMera III. Compounding that, Chanel is running Sweet Bids Bakery and Johnny is trying to keep his head above water as CEO of DiMera Enterprises. And thankfully, Theo Carver (Tyler Joseph Andrews) is there helping him.
Days of Our Lives: Parallels to John Black’s Story
And recently, soap social media had fans pointing out the similarities between Johnny’s current storyline and the late John Black’s narrative. Looking back at history, he lost his wife Isabella to cancer five months after she gave birth to their son Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) back in the day. And knowing that Carson Boatman, who plays Johnny, and Raven Bowens, who plays Chanel, were fired and are leaving sometime this fall, a tragic turn could happen for Johnny and Chanel, during this major health battle that she’s going through.
However, Johnny’s story could parallel his grandfather John’s in other ways. Not only was he a super spy fighting bad guys in Salem, like Stefano DiMera (Joseph Mascolo), and around the world for the ISA, but John was a clever businessman. He created Basic Black, the fashion brand Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) is running now. And also John started Black Patch with his bestie Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) and they were a top-notch PI agency. It’s still going now. Currently Johnny is the CEO of DiMera Enterprises and he and co-CEO Theo are hoping to make the company something their kids can be proud of someday.
Days of Our Lives: Johnny’s Moral Path and DiMera Legacy
Both Johnny and his cousin Theo wanted nothing to do with Stefano’s company in terms of the shady side of the business that EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) and Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) and Stefano himself had no problems with and kept as a thriving criminal sideline. However, Johnny’s role as CEO has him wanting DiMera Enterprises to be better. He wants it on the right side of the law. And of course, EJ’s channeling Stefano, following in his father’s footstep. But Johnny has no interested in following in EJ or Stefano’s footsteps.
And this week, we saw Paulina coming to Johnny and Chanel and talking to them about Ralph’s (William Utay) miraculous resurrection serum. Paulina told Johnny that he needs to get a dose of the super serum to treat Chanel’s cancer immediately. And so right away, Johnny was dialing his phone to call EJ and demand a dose of it.
Days of Our Lives: Chanel Doesn’t Want DiMera Drama
He thought it was a great idea. Except Chanel stopped him and said, “No, I want nothing to do with this.” She doesn’t want to put their unborn baby at risk, as she told Johnny and her mom. But also, Chanel doesn’t want to be beholden to her father-in-law, EJ, for anything.
But that doesn’t mean Johnny won’t go behind Chanel’s back and ask EJ or Dr. Ralph for either that treatment or another miracle treatment for Chanel’s cancer. You know, Johnny isn’t a fan of how EJ and Ralph do their secret sick science, but I think Johnny would do anything to protect those that he loves, much like John Black always did. Johnny’s not power hungry, and neither was John. But Johnny’s grandpa did cross lines in the past when it came to helping those he cared for. So yeah, Johnny might cross lines like John did at times on his quest to save Chanel and baby Quattro’s lives.

Days of Our Lives: Johnny’s Sacrifice and Rejection of Stefano’s Legacy
We know that Johnny is up to something soon because in the summer promo, Theo is questioning Johnny about what other heinous things that he is covering up and it could be something to do with Johnny going to great lengths trying to save Chanel. I expect to see Johnny leaning more on Theo at work soon and turning to spiritual resources for support. And this sort of withdrawal from things echoes John Black’s time as a priest, if you remember.
And it could lead Johnny to some deep emotional growth as he’s navigating Chanel’s health crisis. While worried about baby number two, who’s on the way, Johnny is already struggling to wrap his head around possibly being a single father of two young children. if in the end Chanel loses this battle with breast cancer, which is always a possibility.
And this is no doubt tapping into Johnny’s childhood cancer memories and ordeal, even if he was so young, he may not remember the details, but he absolutely knows how frightening a cancer diagnosis can be. and he’s been super supportive of Chanel while still pushing her to carefully consider all of her options because Johnny wants her to value her life even though Chanel values their unborn baby’s life more than her own.
Days of Our Lives: Johnny Risks it All?
And already we can see Johnny’s a much better dad than many fathers who tend towards absenteeism and manipulation if not outright wickedness. Chad DiMera (Connor Floyd) is another notable exception as a good dad. Now, we know for a fact Johnny doesn’t want to be the type of person that his dad EJ is. Johnny would much rather emulate John Black as a parental role model. Even when EJ is an involved father, he doesn’t always think about the consequences like when he threw Chanel under the bus last summer at Johnny’s trial.
So, whatever happens with Chanel’s treatment and the baby, we know that Johnny is willing to risk everything John Black style to protect his wife, their one baby and their unborn baby. Johnny may lose his CEO position, lose control of DiMera Enterprises, or even face legal trouble.
None of that matters if he can get Chanel safely through this. And in the end, even though we know that Johnny and Chanel are both leaving, I do think this final storyline for Johnny and Chanel is going to show Johnny rejecting Stefano’s legacy and embracing the much more positive legacy of his other grandpa, John Black, a devoted family man who lost his own life saving someone he loved, Bo Brady (Peter Reckell).
So, we’ll have to wait and see exactly how far that Johnny will go to save Chanel. I could see him going to extraordinary lengths just like John Black did at times if it means he gets to save the woman that he loves.
