‘Gremlins’ Will Never Get a Reboot

Published

on

01153378_poster_w780.jpg

A new sequel to Gremlins is in the works, after the franchise lay dormant for many years. The original film, a sleeper hit in 1984, spawned a chaotic comedy sequel and, more recently, a prequel animated series. However, there’s one thing that will never happen to the franchise: a reboot. Star Zach Galligan recently discussed the situation at a panel at the Indiana Comic Convention.

While studios have been happy to reach into their libraries of intellectual property for a slew of remakes and reboots, Galligan, who played Billy in both Gremlins and Gremlins 2: The New Batch, isn’t the biggest fan of them and admits that he feels “a certain amount of ownership” towards the original film. While he doesn’t actually own the franchise, neither does Warner Bros, the studio that released it. That’s in the hands of Steven Spielberg, who produced the original film, and Chris Columbus, who wrote it. And according to Galligan, as long as those two are still around, you will never see a Gremlins reboot. He told the audience, where Collider’s Maggie Lovitt was in attendance at the Indiana Comic Convention:

“Mr. Spielberg owns it, Amblin owns it, and I believe Mr. Columbus also has some kind of ownership ability. At least, he has the ability to say no to a reboot, and he has said — and is involved in Gremlins 3, which certainly solidifies this — that as long as he is alive, there won’t be a Gremlins reboot, he has the right to say no.”

He also related Spielberg’s general antipathy to sequels and reboots, having eschewed seeing Jaws 2 for decades because, “guys, we blew up the shark.” Galligan didn’t want to tar all remakes with the same brush, though, as he did note that he enjoyed Zack Snyder‘s Dawn of the Dead, which he said was “pretty good.”

Camp Crystal Lake · Friday the 13th

Jason Voorhees

Jason is relentless, but he is also predictable — and that is the gap you would exploit.

  • He moves in straight lines toward his target. He doesn’t strategise, doesn’t adapt, doesn’t outsmart. He simply pursues.
  • Your ability to keep moving, use the environment, and resist the panic that freezes most victims gives you a genuine edge.
  • The Crystal Lake survivors were always the ones who stopped running in circles and started thinking about terrain, water, and distance.
  • You think like that. Which means Jason, for all his indestructibility, would face someone who simply refused to be where he expected.

Haddonfield, Illinois · Halloween

Michael Myers

Michael watches before he moves. He is patient, methodical, and almost impossible to detect — until it’s too late for anyone who isn’t paying close enough attention.

  • But you are paying attention. You notice the shape in the window, the car parked slightly wrong, the silence where there should be sound.
  • Michael’s power lies in the invisibility of ordinary suburbia — the fact that nothing ever looks wrong until it already is.
  • Your spatial awareness and instinct to map every room, every exit, and every shadow before you need them is precisely the quality Laurie Strode had.
  • You are not a victim waiting to happen. You are someone who already suspects something is wrong — and acts on it.

Elm Street · A Nightmare on Elm Street

Freddy Krueger

Freddy wins by getting inside your head — using your own fears, your own memories, your own subconscious as weapons against you. That strategy requires a target who can be destabilised.

  • You are harder to destabilise than most. You’ve faced uncomfortable truths about yourself and you haven’t looked away.
  • The survivors on Elm Street were always the ones who understood what was happening and chose to face it rather than flee from it.
  • Freddy’s greatest weakness is that his power evaporates in the presence of someone who refuses to give him the fear he feeds on.
  • Your psychological resilience — the ability to stay grounded when reality itself becomes unreliable — is exactly the quality that keeps you alive here.

Derry, Maine · It

Pennywise

Pennywise is ancient, shapeshifting, and feeds on terror — but it has one critical vulnerability: it cannot function against someone who genuinely stops being afraid of it.

  • The Losers Club didn’t survive because they were braver than everyone else. They survived because they faced their fears together, and faced them honestly.
  • You ask the questions others avoid. You look directly at what frightens you rather than turning away.
  • That directness — the refusal to let fear fester in the dark — is Pennywise’s worst nightmare.
  • It chose the wrong target when it chose you. You are exactly the kind of person whose fear tastes like nothing at all.

Chicago · Child’s Play

Chucky

Chucky’s greatest advantage is that nobody takes him seriously until it’s already too late. He exploits the gap between how something looks and what it actually is.

  • You don’t have that gap. You take threats seriously regardless of how they present — and you never make the mistake of underestimating something because of its size or appearance.
  • Chucky relies on surprise, on the delay between recognition and response. You close that delay faster than almost anyone.
  • Your instinct to treat every unfamiliar thing with appropriate scepticism — rather than dismissing it because it seems absurd — is the exact quality that keeps you breathing.
  • Against Chucky, not laughing is already winning. You are very good at not laughing.

What Do We Know About ‘Gremlins 3’?

Columbus broke out with his script for Gremlins, which was purchased by Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment and made him an in-demand screenwriter and, later, director. He’s returning to the franchise for the first time in over four decades to both write and direct Gremlins 3, which will be released by Warner Bros. Columbus is co-writing the film with Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein, the duo who recently revived the Final Destination franchise with Bloodlines. The film is currently in pre-production and will be filmed later this year; it is set to be released on November 27, 2027.

Directed by Joe Dante, the original Gremlins grossed a massive $212 million USD on a scant $11 million budget; the film’s blend of black humor with holiday cheer and state-of-the-art animatronics proved to be a winner at the box office. However, its violence was a little too extreme for some viewers, and helped spur the creation of the PG-13 rating.

Gremlins 3 is in development. Stay tuned to Collider for future updates.

Anna Faris Addresses Rumor She Mocked Cameron Diaz

Published

on

Anna Faris on If She d Return for a House Bunny Sequel Shelley Is Always in Me 720

Anna Faris is clearing the air about viral speculation she poked fun at Cameron Diaz in 2003’s Lost in Translation.

“I was always a little annoyed with that accusation,” Faris, 49, said on the Thursday, June 4, episode of the “Happy Sad Confused” podcast. “I felt like it took a little something away from my flavor, and because I had auditioned for it and earned it as that performance, I always felt like, ‘No, I’m not part of some grand weird sabotage.’”

Faris played a bubbly actress in Sofia Coppola’s Lost in Translation, where an aging movie star (Bill Murray) struck up a connection with a new bride (Scarlett Johansson) on their respective trips to Japan. It had long been speculated that Faris took inspiration from Diaz, 53, for her role.

While speaking with “Happy Sad Confused” podcaster Josh Horowitz, Faris reaffirmed that the Charlie’s Angels actress was never in her mind during the audition or production process.

When it comes to a House Bunny sequel, Anna Faris is more than ready to hop right back into the role of Shelley Darlingson. “Oh gosh, that would be so fun,” Faris, 48, exclusively told Us Weekly while promoting her partnership with Scrubbing Bubbles. “I haven’t really explored it yet. [But] I mean, I would […]

“L.A. was so new, I hadn’t met any celebrities,” Faris explained. “I had an idea when I first moved to L.A. from Seattle, I encountered a kind of person that I had never met before, which is what I call a self-describer. A person who’s like, ‘I am this and I am spiritual and I’m really creative and my aura is this.’”

According to Faris, she felt as if she was “tapping into that” persona when she read for Lost in Translation.

“Cameron came on my podcast once ‘cause I had read in an article once that her feelings were hurt. I wanted to send her flowers, [but] I didn’t really know how to approach that,” the Scary Movie star acknowledged. “I never had the courage to ask Sofia to clarify.”

Faris was only able to “kind of” clear the air when she spoke with Diaz on her “Anna Faris Is Unqualified” podcast in 2021.

“Maybe should we clear the air on this podcast?” she quipped on Thursday. “I only had 25 minutes with her. I didn’t know if I should launch immediately until like, ‘I’m really sorry. I wasn’t doing that.’ Anyway, I don’t know if I handled it well.”

Cameron Diaz is opening up about her experience on movie sets prior to the #MeToo movement. “The industry is so different. I definitely have to say that the #MeToo movement changed everything,” Diaz, 52, said during a Friday, February 7 interview on the “SkipIntro” podcast. “I mean, it’s palpable. While Faris wasn’t able to fully apologize to Diaz, she did issue a compliment to her fellow actress.

“She does something that I call the ‘Cameron Diaz Effect,’ which is a scene in Charlie’s Angels when she is dancing to ‘Baby Got Back,’ man, she’s having so much fun,” Faris recalled. “The audience’s having so much fun. You’re loving it, and I was able to give her that compliment.”

15 Under-$30 Basics That Look Like Celebrity Closet Staples

Although I’ve spent most of my career as a fashion writer and editor, I occasionally work as a stylist, dressing celebrities and VIP for photo shoots and events. My approach to putting together the perfect outfit is somewhat simple: make sure you have one or two statement pieces that really wow, then balance them with basics like a classic white sneaker or a sleek jacket.

I often work with luxury brands for the stars I style, but my personal budget is definitely more Amazon than high-end designer. That’s perfectly fine, though, since the retail site has plenty of options that look similar to staples I’ve used, but cost a fraction of the price. By stocking up on these timeless essentials, you’ll create a capsule wardrobe of sorts that you can then mix and match with bolder items, making them feel a bit more wearable.

If you’re looking to give your wardrobe a chic, celebrity-inspired spin, I’ve rounded up 15 staples worth adding to cart ASAP. They’re all under $30, but you’ll look so good that no one ever has to know!

15 Under-$30 Amazon Basics Look Like Celebrity Closet Staples

Shirts

1. A Trusty White Tee: Don’t underestimate the power of a white crewneck T-shirt. When it’s not toning down colorful bottoms or pairing perfectly with jeans for a tried-and-true, works-every-time kind of look, it’s peeking out from the top of a sweater or sweatshirt, giving your outfit an elevated, preppy twist.

2. A Classic Black Tank: A white tank top is cool and casual, but a black alternative feels a bit dressier. This high-neck option won’t distract from a pretty patterned skirt or tailored pants but will complement them instead.

3. A Striped Button-Down: On lazy days, it’s tempting to reach for your favorite graphic tee, but if you’re hoping to look more put-together, a striped collared shirt is just as easy to throw on (just hang yours up after washing to keep it wrinkle-free). This piece works with every type of bottom, from sporty shorts to jeans — the latter of which is very Meghan Markle.

As someone who has worked in fashion for over a decade, I’ve gotten to feel, play and test out a ton of fancy footwear. Still, I often find myself reaching for white sneakers, whether I’m styling a client or dressing myself. I simply love the sleek, clean look they create, balancing out bolder pieces and […]

Top Layers

4. A Casual Crewneck: When comfy-chic is the goal, a bright crewneck sweatshirt is the solution. While gray and black are part of my personal rotation, red feels fresh, fun and perfectly on trend for 2026. Pair it with the aforementioned white tee for that enviable off-duty look.

5. A Light Cardigan: Chances are you already have a black blazer in your closet, but if you’re looking for a celeb-loved layer that’ll work for the warmer months, a button-up cardigan is another chic must-have. At this point, butter yellow is practically a neutral, but it’ll still add some oomph to your floral dresses, denim shorts and satin skirts.

6. A Versatile Jacket: Sorry, trench coats — my favorite versatile layer is actually an olive bomber jacket. The slightly oversized, nylon-like pick adds a cool-girl twist to every outfit and works well with both form-fitting and baggier designs alike.

Dresses and Pants

7. A Double-Duty Dress: It might not be groundbreaking, but a black mini dress is one of those pieces that never goes out of style and works for whatever you have planned. With sneakers or sandals, you’ve got yourself an easy weekend outfit, but add some strappy gold heels, and you’re essentially event-ready.

8. An Elevated Pair of Jeans: Denim trends come and go, but if there’s one style that never feels dated, it’s a medium-wash, straight-leg jean. The not-too-dark, not-too-light shade complements almost every color top, whether you’re into pastels or prefer darker earth tones, while the slim (but not too tight!) shape flatters most body types.

a 9. A Black Trouser: Although they were once considered formal or workwear, loose black trousers have become an ‘It’ girl go-to, with stars like Hailey Bieber and Kendall Jenner rocking them in place of jeans and sweats. You’re bound to find yourself pulling on this pair with everything from easy tank tops to polished button-downs and everything in between.

Shoes

10. A Silver Sandal: If I’m dressing someone for an event, I always, always pull a strappy silver heel, just in case. It’s the ultimate event staple, pairing well with formal outfits and adding a hint of sparkle without going overboard.

11. A Ballet Flat: Even if you haven’t been paying close attention to what the stars are wearing, chances are you’ve seen an A-lister rocking ballet flats. The sleek, feminine shoe is the perfect replacement for heels if you’d rather avoid aches and pains, and will even replace sneakers, giving your outfit an elevated, special touch.

12. A Simple White Sneaker: Retro-inspired suede kicks might be trending at the moment, but if you want to invest in a pair that’ll still look cool a year from now, grab a white court shoe. It’s not too slim but not too chunky, and the clean, neutral color acts as an anchor, balancing out whatever you’ve got on.

Accessories

13. A Pair of Sparkly Studs: She may wear elaborate designs on stage, but Taylor Swift still knows the power of simple studs. Rather than splurge on a pricey diamond pair, this Mossinette alternative gets you the look for a lot less, and you won’t feel as bad should you accidentally misplace one.

14. A Structured Tote: Every day, it seems another star is stepping out carrying a luxe top-handle bag. A leather-like option will instantly give your outfit rich mom vibes, and the burgundy colorway feels a bit fresher and more current compared to basic black or beige.

15. A Baseball Cap: You might not be hiding from the paparazzi, but if you’re trying to keep a bad hair day under wraps, shade yourself from the sun or feel your outfit is missing a little something, a baseball cap works wonders. Even if you’ve never considered yourself a hat person, there’s plenty of styling inspiration out there, and it doesn’t hurt to experiment — especially since this pick is under $10.

It looks like Drew Sidora may not be completely opposed to spinning the block on a certain ex. During a recent appearance on the Reality Nightcap podcast, the ‘RHOA’ star was asked whether there was anyone from her dating history she’d consider giving another chance. Her response immediately had listeners trying to connect the dots. “There is one if, you know, they called, I would answer,” Drew said when asked if she’d ever “circle the block” with a former flame. When pressed for more clues, she pointed to an old photo of the pair at the NAACP Awards. Additionally, she playfully told listeners, “Do some Googling.”

According to Drew, the two were close enough to spend time with each other’s families, though their romance remained largely out of the public eye at the time. ‘Obsession’ Pulls Off Box Office Feat Not Seen Since Steven Spielberg’s ’80s Sci-Fi Favorite

Published

on

obsession-poster.jpg

Earlier in this century, horror was having a tough time at the box office. From hopeful indies to big franchise sequels, nothing seemed to stick. Then came the arthouse renaissance led by A24, and the genre was back to its best, with it becoming difficult to remember a better time for horror fans than the past couple of years. This is best exemplified by last weekend’s domestic box office ranking, with the second weekend for The Mandalorian and Grogu facing a 70% drop thanks to the huge debut success of a record-breaking viral arrival.

A24’s Backrooms, led by Renate Reinsve and Chiwetel Ejiofor, topped the box office with an enormous $118 million global haul, of which $81 million was in domestic revenue. The highest-grossing opening for any A24 movie, Backrooms marks the major breakout of 20-year-old Kane Parsons, who has now broken the record for the youngest director to hold the #1 spot at the North American box office. However, the success of Backrooms is perhaps not even the most impressive horror feat achieved at the box office last weekend, with that award going the way of Focus Features’ Obsession.

Directed by Curry Barker, another young director to make the move from YouTube to the big screen, Obsession‘s universal critical acclaim is somehow bettered by its commercial success, having now returned over $166 million against a $1 million budget. However, what many don’t know is that Obsession has officially achieved a feat not seen since way back in 1982. Not since director Steven Spielberg‘s family sci-fi classic E.T. has a film grown in ticket sales in three consecutive weeks outside the holiday corridor. Can Obsession do it again this weekend?

Could This Weekend’s Big New Arrival Pose a Threat to ‘Obsession’?

Although a new entry in the Scary Movie franchise debuts this weekend, it seems unlikely for a satire of modern horror to distract from the generational genius of Barker’s Obsession. But what about a different genre entirely? Obsession faces perhaps its biggest new competition from Travis Knight‘s big-screen reboot of Masters of the Universe, with millions likely to flock to the theater to see Nicholas Galitzine‘s He-Man in action. However, realistically, Obsession‘s biggest competition will come from the aforementioned Backrooms, which is predicted to hold strong into weekend #2.

Obsession is available to watch in theaters now. Stay tuned to Collider for the latest box office updates.

Kathy Hilton recently stepped down as grand marshal icon honoree of the WeHo Pride parade after backlash over her rumored political leanings. Now, days later, her “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” costar Jennifer Tilly is coming to her defense, calling her one of the biggest LGBTQ+ advocates she knows.

This comes after Hilton spoke about the last-minute change in a recent interview.

Tilly took to her official Instagram account on June 5 not only to post a photo of herself with Hilton but also to make her stance known on the WeHo Pride situation. The “Chucky” star began her caption, “I stand with Kathy.”

After that, she went on to discuss Hilton’s advocacy, writing, “Nobody works harder and more tirelessly to give back to the community than @kathyhilton. She has repeatedly opened her home, her heart, and her pocketbook for LGBTQ+ causes.”

I’ve attended GLAAD award parties at her house, her annual Children’s Hospital event at the Abbey, and she has been a longtime supporter of @projectangelfood. Kathy is an ally and an advocate.”

Fans Aren’t Too Keen On Jennifer Tilly’s Defense

Following Tilly’s defense of her friend, many on social media are reacting. While some can understand the actress wanting to stand up for Hilton, others feel the community should have a say in who serves as the grand marshal for one of the world’s largest pride parades.

One person said, “Love this, but it’s odd. LGBTQIA people who she might’ve offended are the ones for whom forgiveness & grace matter. Not yours.”

Someone else said, “Doesn’t make any difference what she does if she votes against all of her activism in the booths.” A different Instagram user wrote, “Ooof! Nope! If she votes for people who strip the community of its rights, she isn’t an ally.”

Lastly, in support of Tilly and Hilton, another social media user said, “We are all multifaceted human beings. Any and all support is equal! Sad to see my LGB brothers and sisters being so hateful.”

TMZ interviewed Hilton on June 4 following the Hermes fashion show in Los Angeles. The interviewer mentioned the situation with the pride parade, saying she was sorry the “RHOBH” friend had been “let go.”

Hilton said, “You know, I’ve been involved with the community for a long, long time, and when people make some noise, what can you do?” She continued, “So, I made a statement.”

After that, Hilton mentioned the support she’s shown the community, dating back to the 1980s. Still, regarding the parade, she said, “I want them to have the best day, and they have my support.”

When asked if she considered the backlash to be “unfair,” the 67-year-old said, “you don’t want to be somewhere if it’s going to..” Hilton didn’t finish her sentence as they were driving away. However, she made a hand motion, signaling that she didn’t want to cause drama for anyone who didn’t want her at WeHo Pride.

Hilton’s decision to step down as the grand marshal icon honoree of the WeHo Pride parade was announced via a joint statement on June 3 from the City of West Hollywood and WeHo Pride. They stated that after “thoughtful discussion,” it had been mutually decided upon that the “RHOBH” star would not retain the position for the 2026 parade.

They said, “The announcement of Kathy Hilton as Grand Marshal Icon for the 2026 WeHo Pride Parade has generated a range of perspectives across our community. In recent days, community members have shared thoughtful feedback regarding the role and significance of Pride honorees.” This year, there won’t be a Grand Marshal Icon honoree.

She also released a statement, saying, “I am honored to have been considered for this recognition and appreciative of the support I have received from members of the community throughout the years. My reason for wanting to be involved in this year’s WeHo Pride weekend was simple: to celebrate, support, and share in the joy of a community that means a great deal to so many people.”

In addition to stepping down as grand marshal, Hilton is also facing a lawsuit. According to TMZ, a woman who visited her home for a 2024 charity event suffered a fall while at the residence due to uneven concrete. The fall caused various injuries, including to one of her knees.

Since the filing, Hilton has denied all wrongdoing. Per the outlet, her legal team feels that the woman’s injuries were a result of her exposing herself to “known danger.” Regarding the alleged victim, the woman is seeking over $50k a year for future medical needs related to the fall.

Quentin Tarantino Brands Hollywood A ‘Sausage Factory’

Published

on

Quentin Tarantino

Quentin Tarantino has gone full scorched earth on the films coming out of Hollywood post-pandemic, branding the industry a “flavorless sausage factory.”

The maverick filmmaker said he has not really seen any recent film that has tickled his fancy, except for a Netflix thriller starring Ben Affleck and Matt Damon.

Tarantino has also been involved in a heated back-and-forth with some of his industry peers, including Rosanna Arquette and Paul Dano, calling the latter the “weakest f-cking actor in SAG.”

Tarantino has never been one to mince words, but his latest critique of the film industry appears to be one of his most scathing yet.

Writing for Sight & Sound magazine, the Oscar-winning director took a swipe at the current state of films coming out of the industry, describing modern Hollywood as a “flavorless sausage factory.”

Given his experience directing hit classics like “Pulp Fiction” and “Once Upon A Time In Hollywood,” Tarantino revealed that “it’s almost impossible” for him to see any new movie and not pick it “to death.”

“Flaws, implausibilities, audience pandering, miscast performers, or just plain stupid sh-t usually torpedoes every new movie coming out of the flavorless sausage factory that used to call itself Hollywood,” the director lamented.

Tarantino Says New Films Inspire ‘Contempt’

Quentin Tarantino

In his writing, Tarantino also claimed that the movies coming out these days fail to move him in the least, before noting that they cannot be compared to the motion pictures of the ’80s.

“These days, the entire concept of what is a movie is more inclined to inspire contempt in me than generosity. Which is fair enough, because by comparison the movies of the last six years make the 80s seem like the 30s,” he said.

However, the director pointed out that some films have managed to stand out for him, though given the poor quality of the majority of modern releases, he would now “rather read a book.”

“I’ve seen movies I liked since then – ‘West Side Story’ (2021); ‘Horizon: An American Saga’ Chapter 1 and 2 (both 2024), a few others, but nothing that really held me in its grip and swept me away to the magical land of enjoyment that I use to visit regularly and was the reason I loved movies above all other artforms. These days, I’d rather read a book,” he said.

Quentin Tarantino Praises Netflix Thriller ‘The Rip’

Tarantino reserved special praise for Netflix crime drama “The Rip,” directed by Joe Carnahan and starring Ben Affleck and Matt Damon. The cast also includes Steven Yeun, Teyana Taylor, Sasha Calle, and Kyle Chandler.

The story follows two police officers in the Miami-Dade Police Department who uncover corrupt practices linked to $20 million in cartel money.

“A suspenseful new movie has come out that did grab me and held me for its entire duration,” Tarantino wrote. “The film is an exciting cop thriller with a novel premise that manages to deliver the goods in really clever ways.”

He continued, “The whole package worked for me: Carnahan’s direction, the splendid cast, the look of the film (courtesy of cinematographer Juan Miguel Azpiroz) – but the real powerhouse component of this splendid collection is the sensational screenplay by Carnahan and Michael McGrale.”

Tarantino Clashed With Rosanna Arquette

Quentin Tarantino
MEGA

It has been an onslaught of major attacks from Tarantino over the past couple of months. He and his “Pulp Fiction” actress Rosanna Arquette were on each other’s necks earlier this year when she criticized his use of the N-word in films.

Speaking in an interview with The Sunday Times, Arquette discussed her role in the hit movie, saying that while it is “a great film on a lot of levels,” she disapproves of his use of racial slurs in his films.

“Personally, I am over the use of the N-word — I hate it,” she said at the time. “I cannot stand that he [Tarantino] has been given a hall pass. It’s not art, it’s just racist and creepy.”

However, the director fired back in a letter, calling her out for making light of the film and showing “a decided lack of class, no less honor,” per Deadline.

Quentin Tarantino Was Brutally Critical Of Paul Dano

Paul Dano
ZUMAPRESS.com / MEGA

Tarantino sparked major controversy when he appeared on Bret Easton Ellis’ podcast to discuss his ranking of the best movies of the 21st century. He said he would have chosen “There Will Be Blood” as his first or second choice, but Paul Dano’s performance made him relegate it to fifth, per Variety.

He then went on a lengthy rant about how the movie was supposed to be a two-hander with lead actor Daniel Day-Lewis, but Dano could not manage to pull it off. Tarantino called him the “weakest f-cking actor in SAG” and “an uninteresting guy.”

However, his criticism backfired as fans and industry figures threw their weight behind Dano, including George Clooney, who said he “would be honored to work with” Dano.

Days of our Lives: Sarah’s Patient Tragedy Brings Liam Back – Gabi in Huge Trouble!

Published

on

Days of Our Lives: Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) - Gabi Hernandez (Cherie Jimenez) - Liam Selejko (Hank Northrop)

Days of Our Lives reveals Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) tragically lost a patient from the free clinic. Her name was Destiny and she came in sick and she told Sarah she took some pills but didn’t know what she took and then she wound up collapsing in Horton Town Square. Xander Cook (Paul Telfer) was there to call 911 and Javi Hernandez (Al Calderon) and JJ Deveraux (Casey Moss) happened to stroll by.

But despite two EMTs and a doctor on hand, Destiny died and later an upset Sarah told Xander that Destiny had a link to Liam Selejko (Hank Northrop) and that means big trouble is coming for Gabi Hernandez (Cherie Jimenez).

Days of our Lives: Sarah’s New Patient

Recently, Sarah saw the new patient. Destiny came into the free clinic complaining about nausea and severe headaches, wondering if she was going to get terrible care because it’s free. And she kept insisting she was in intense pain. And Sarah was sympathetic, but she refused to give Destiny pain meds until they figured out what was wrong. So, she was really angry at Sarah.

Plus, Destiny admitted to taking unknown pills from the medicine cabinet because she was feeling bad. And to me, that made her seem like a pill seeking problem patient, you know, like addict behavior. Sarah wanted to run more tests, but Destiny got upset and she ran out of the free clinic griping that Sarah didn’t help her at all.

Days of our Lives: Destiny’s Collapse

And later, when Sarah saw Destiny in the square, she told Sarah she was actually on her way back to the hospital because she felt worse. But then Destiny just dropped down to the ground like a rock. Out of it, no pulse. Xander ran over while Sarah was doing CPR. And even with JJ and Javi there with all their gear, it was just sadly too late.

And now Sarah is eaten up with guilt for not doing more to get Destiny to stay at the clinic and figure out what was wrong. And to top it off, Sarah had to break the news to her family. And she had to admit to them she couldn’t save Destiny on Days of our Lives.

Days of our Lives: A Troubling Connection

And then Sarah went through Destiny’s medical records looking for info. And Sarah found out that Destiny’s family had a double dose of tragedy because 2 years ago her sister died of what was presumed to be an overdose. However, the autopsy results were indeterminate. So, it was very sad for their parents for sure. And then Sarah noticed that Liam Selejko was named as Destiny’s emergency contact.

So the plot thickens and it turns out that Destiny’s dead sister Clea is the mother of Liam’s son. Presumably she has this dead sister and then the emergency contact. So doing the math because he has talked about his ex overdosing and it was Destiny’s sister he seemed to be talking about.

So Sarah’s eager to talk to Liam about Destiny and Clea both because Sarah feels there’s a connection. She thinks it’s strange two sisters died of similar circumstances within a few years of each other and it is. So maybe Destiny and Clea had some underlying medical condition. They were both drug users, but Sarah’s wondering if there’s more to it. And if you remember, Clea’s autopsy was imprecise, but Liam told Arianna “Ari” Horton (Vico Escorcia) that she had died from an overdose. So that means Liam knew she was doing drugs.

Gabi’s Secret Comes Crashing Down on DOOL

This Sarah thing could end up though bringing big trouble to Gabi because this week Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering), Ari and Gabi were celebrating Ari’s birthday. And while Gabi stepped away to chat with Xander, Ari was grilling her uncle Rafe. She wanted him to help her locate Liam. And Rafe refused. And Ari said, “Fine, I’ll find Liam myself.” Ari was also suspicious because Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes) was there on a date and gave Gabi a friendly wave.

Ari knows exactly how much Gabi and Julie hate each other. So Ari immediately clocked that as a red flag, but we know Julie did Gabi a solid and helped handle Liam’s parole to get him out of Salem because Gabi doesn’t think Liam is right for her precious Ari. So much so that Gabi wrote Liam a big check and took care of his parole issues. That way he could take his son and leave, get a fresh start.

Days of our Lives: History Repeating

But Ari, you know, likes older guys and she prefers bad boys. If you remember, she was with con man Doug when he was in town for a while. And then, of course, low-level criminal Liam caught Ari’s eye until Gabi managed to run him off.

So Ari has no idea that Gabi forced him out of town with a big bribe. And of course, Ari and Liam weren’t officially dating, but they were getting close. And they had just shared their very first kiss, and it was magic. And Ari told him that Gabi wouldn’t judge him because she had been to prison a couple of times herself. But guess what? She did judge Liam. And so Gabi tried to convince Ari to stay away from him because of his troubled past and connection to the Demir kidnappings. And when Ari wouldn’t cut ties, Gabi cut them for her.

Days of Our Lives: Sarah Horto – Gabi Hernandez – Liam Selejko

Days of our Lives: A Day of Reckoning Ahead

And that means there is a day of reckoning coming. It’s like Gabi learned nothing from how badly she screwed up with Philip Kiriakis (John-Paul Lavoisier). That’s another case of Gabi lying and plotting against a loved one and it came back to blow up in her face. So I think that Gabi bribing Liam and getting him to leave town is going to come out soon and I fully expect Ari to explode on her mom. Sarah is going to try and find Liam and she might be able to use official resources because he is the emergency contact and this all ties back to her dead patient Destiny.

Obviously, the parole board will know where Liam is. And once Sarah brings him to town because of this Destiny issue, I can see it going a couple of ways. One, Ari spots him and rushes over to confront him about why Liam left and hasn’t answered her calls or texts and is just ghosting her. Or Ari might roll up on Gabi chewing out Liam for daring to come back to Salem. Either way, Gabi’s going to wind up outed because of Sarah trying to get more info on the patient that she lost.

Days of our Lives: Liam’s Redemption Path

And of course, if you’re a mom like me, you probably get why Gabi wanted Liam away from Ari. The guy has issues. But to his credit, he was trying to make a better life for his son after the shooting incident.

Liam got a job at Julie’s bookstore. He was doing his parole. He was working on his literacy. And he was trying to stay on the straight and narrow and be a good example for his son. And Ari was thrilled that she could pop into the bookstore and see her crush Liam whenever she wanted. And he seemed genuinely into Ari, especially after she took care of Liam and let him hide in her dorm room after he was grazed by that bullet when Vivian’s thug tried to kill him and shot Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer) and then grazed him as well.

So obviously Ari’s going to be beyond excited when she sees that Liam’s back in Salem. And then Ari’s going to be furious to find out why he left. And you know, she’s not going to stop until she finds out. I don’t think he will rat out Gabi immediately, but it’s going to come out. So Sarah’s medical curiosity is about to bite Gabi right in her perky backside. And there is no telling how bad it’s going to get when Ari finds out what her mom Gabi did. And this Destiny thing could actually be the launch pad for that tainted pill plot that came up in the big summer promo for Days of Our Lives. So, buckle up. It’s about to be a wild ride.

Young and Restless Next Week: Nikki’s Terrifying Diagnosis & Matt’s Next Victim!

Published

on

Young and the Restless Spoilers: Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) - Matt Clark (Roger Howarth)

Young and the Restless fresh spoilers for the week of June 8th, including Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) getting a terrifying health diagnosis and Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) plotting against a new victim. Plus, the Shadow Room in Genoa City opens for business and Shamar Moore finally returns.

We’ve got the latest YNR spoilers for the week of June 8th through the 12th. So, we also have several characters leaving town for that big Beyond the Gates crossover. We’ll talk about all of this. Let’s dive right in.

Young and the Restless Spoilers: Matt Clark’s Test

First of all, let’s check in with Matt Clark and Victor Newman (Eric Braeden). So, at the end of this week, Matt tells Victor about his memories coming back, and he can remember all the awful things he did, but not why he did them. And then Victor tells Matt that he’s really going to be watching him closely.

So, Victor thinks that Matt is either a liar or has a terrible mental disorder. And Victor tells Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) to focus on his recovery while Victor keeps Matt close and tests him to see how repentant he really is. Victor thinks if Matt really wants redeemed, then the Newmans can use him.

So, Victor plans to put Matt to a major test and if he fails, Victor is going to crush him. So, after Matt showers, he gets all cleaned up and changed. He feels like a new man. And then he offers Nick another apology and Victor tells Matt at the end of this week that he wants to test his sincerity and he tells Victor he’s ready for it. Also at the end of this week, this ties into it. Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) comes to see Victor and is stunned when he gives her Chancellor and then Lily goes and tells Cain that she wants him to run Chancellor for her.

Young and the Restless: Matt Tells Victor He is Ready

So, all of this ties back into Matt’s big test because next week, Young and the Restless spoilers have Matt telling Victor that he’s ready. And they talk over a plan for Matt to do something to Cain to prove himself to Victor. But if Matt has really become this changed man, would he really agree to do something bad to Cain? We all know that Victor’s sense of morality is really skewed.

But it seems like if Matt does a bad thing to Cain, then he fails the new man test. And if Matt doesn’t do a bad thing to Cain, then he fails the mustache test. And Victor only has a couple of episodes, by the way, to discuss this with Matt because then Victor has got to pack his bags, hop on the private jet, and head to Washington DC for his role on the Beyond the Gates crossover.

The YNR/BTG Crossover Event

If you have not watched BTG, and you want to give it a try, set your DVR for Wednesday through Friday to watch Young and the Restless characters over there. So, not only is Victor going to be on, but so will Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman), Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters), Devon Hamilton (Bryton James), and Abby Newman Abbott (Melissa Ordway). There’s a political fundraiser, and Victor is the keynote speaker. So, Devon, by the way, has already crossed over to Beyond the Gates a couple of times, and just if you haven’t given it a try, it’s a good soap. I really enjoy it.

Nikki’s Health Crisis

So, now let’s talk about Nikki Newman and what goes on with her while Victor is gone. So Nikki’s health takes a drastic turn for the worse after being plagued by those migraines. If you remember, Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) was worried this week, but Nikki insisted. Just another multiple sclerosis symptom. So when Victoria wanted Nikki to go to the doctor this week, she refused. But Victoria may change her mind because next week Nikki suddenly has very concerning vision issues and that could mean a stroke or a blood clot, something going on in her brain, especially when you combine it with the headaches.

So after initially telling Victoria no to going to see the doctor, Nikki relents and she goes and gets checked out. And it’s a good thing that she does. Melody Thomas Scott teased in an interview that things are bad. So Nikki gets a life or death diagnosis and she has to act really fast. So while Victor’s gone, that’s when she’s diagnosed. She finds out this medical crisis has to be addressed ASAP.

Nikki’s got to make major decisions about her health really fast, and she’s not sure if she wants to tell Victor about her health crisis. That’s because Nikki doesn’t want Victor coming back to her out of guilt or obligation. And at this point, Nikki thinks their marriage is irretrievably broken. And reportedly, this diagnosis leads Nikki into some risky behavior.

Young and the Restless Spoilers: The Shadow Room Opens

Also, despite Sienna Bell being creeped out that Noah Newman built a replica of the LA Shadow Room, you know, he’s pushing forward. He put it up right there in Genoa City. And I’m sure it’s because YNR spent the money on the set and they didn’t want to just scrap it.

So Noah is going to host an opening night and Nick and Sharon Case are very supportive of Noah’s effort. They think it’s going to be great. So next week, Young and the Restless spoilers have Sharon toasting to Noah’s success at the Genoa City Shadow Room. Holden and Claire are also on hand. And it looks like Holden’s mom, Stephanie Simmons, is there. I expect we’ll see Audra Charles. She won’t want to miss Audra’s big night, Nick, other Newmans.

Malcolm Returns to Young and the Restless

Also, at the end of this week on YNR, Lily discusses Malcolm’s recovery with Cain. Everything’s going great and Lily says it’s a dream come true. And as we know, if not for Cain donating bone marrow, Malcolm’s health might be in dire shape right about now. He probably would be dying on his deathbed if he hadn’t gotten this treatment.

So, what’s frustrating is Cain donated and then Malcolm’s transplant procedure all happened offscreen. We heard about it third-hand from people going to see him at the hospital. But finally, Malcolm Winters (Shamar Moore) is back to Young and the Restless next week. Up at the Overlook Cafe, Stephanie and Holden and Claire are hanging out. And out of nowhere, Malcolm walks up on them asking, “Could I get some of that?” And Holden looks stunned. Claire looks pleased. And Stephanie gives Malcolm a great big hug.

Diane Located and the Crossover

Also, early next week, look for resolution on the Where is Diane Jenkins storyline. We should see her located maybe by Jack’s private eye early in the week because by the middle of the week, Diane is happily reconciled with Jack and they’re over on the Beyond the Gates crossover together, smiling and happy with Kyle as a family attending the big fundraiser in DC. Devon is also there to talk business with Anita Dupree, who’s an artist that has recorded for his label. And they created some backstory making Nikki and Anita old friends along with Vernon being old friends with Victor. But Nikki’s back in Genoa City in crisis.

And in a recent interview about the crossover, Eric Braeden discussed Victor’s ongoing hatred of Jack over the shenanigans incident from 2024. And it was kind of interesting. It gave me a new perspective on the way he’s behaving. So, Eric Braeden said that Victor is thoroughly convinced that Nikki and Jack were up to some romantic entanglement in that hotel room.

The rest of the family and Diane and others all see it from the perspective of Jack was saving Nikki’s life, you know, trying to get her to rehab. But it seems that Victor thinks Nikki was drunk and Jack was high on pills. And before he overdosed, Victor thinks that Jack and Nikki were hitting the sheets. So, from that angle, you know, Victor’s hatred makes more sense.

General Hospital: Dante & Elizabeth Are Endgame – Ric Gets Destroyed!

Published

on

General Hospital: Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) - Elizabeth Weber (Rebecca Herbst)

General Hospital sees that starting four months ago, GH began chemistry testing Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) and Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst). And from the jump, they were a hit with a lot of fans, even though she and Rick Lansing (Jon Lindstrom) were clearly on the road to reconciliation at that point, even though it wasn’t official.

And now that Liz is officially back with Rick, we have seen Dante respectful, but I think also kind of skeptical. Still clearly leaning towards Liz, though, and I suspect Dante and Liz might actually be Endgame.

It’s Belinda from Soap Dirt, and we’re going to talk about why Dante and Liz may soon crush Rick. But first, please click subscribe if you are not already following us.

The Chemistry Test Begins

So from the very first moment that we started getting these dedicated scenes of Elizabeth alone with Dante, it was clear that General Hospital was testing viewer reaction and yeah, a spark was definitely there. And since then, Liz and Dante have shared several important scenes together.

No signs of slowing up either. So prior to February 2026, we really had no opportunity to see Elizabeth interacting much with Dante. You know, he had been busy with Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco), head over heels in love until her death in October 2024. And after that, he was grieving, parenting their shared kids, and then a year later, they brought Lulu Spencer (Emme Rylan) out of her coma. And fans assumed Dante and Lulu would rekindle, but they’re really not going there and haven’t since her awakening.

First, because Dante was grieving even though Lulu woke up, still in love with him, but Dante rejected her and they’ve kind of been at odds since then. Lulu’s romance with not Nathan aka Cody Bell bothered Dante a little bit, but then he accepted it because, you know, he realized that he waited too long and Lulu is probably not going to be with him.

Meanwhile, Rick Lansing came back to Port Charles not long before Lulu came out of her coma and Rick has been all about Liz since his return. But she didn’t want Rick because of his sketchy past. So he took up with Ava Jerome (Maura West), but then their romance ended and he had that kidnapping ordeal at the hands of Ava and Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) and Christine and that profoundly changed him and both Sonny (Maurice Benard) and Elizabeth gave Rick another chance.

GH Keeps Putting Them Together

So with Liz and Rick back together, doesn’t seem like there’s room for Dante, right? However, General Hospital keeps putting Liz and Dante into scenes together and that means they’re still considering pairing them. And we have had leaks about Rick possibly getting sick. And there’s also the chance he could just backslide and go dark, particularly once Jason Morgan (Roger Howarth) is back because Rick and Jason hate each other and it’s a whole rivalry over Sonny’s attention. So, we’re going to dig into why Dante and Liz are a solid pairing and might actually be endgame despite Rick being back in her life right now.

Strong Chemistry Between Dante and Liz

So, just right off the bat, there is that really good chemistry between Liz and Dante. They passed the General Hospital chemistry test, I think, with flying colors. Fans started talking about them from those very first scenes in February of this year. Plus, Liz is really the first woman that we’ve seen Dante sparking with since Sam died. And yes, he was beyond grateful when Lulu woke up from her four-year coma, and he will always love her. But Dante and Lulu remain broken and they’re just not viable as a romantic pair. At least not now. But with Liz, it seems like Dante is starting to feel something. It’s just a little spark now, but it could build to a lot more.

So, another reason General Hospital may want Liz and Dante as an endgame couple is because there’s this fan base that’s growing by the day. And super couples draw viewers and they bring ratings. We all know it. Plus, Elizabeth alone, just as a character, has a very passionate fan following and people are thrilled that she’s finally got a storyline. And by the way, Dante and Liz even have a smoosh name. If you haven’t seen it on soap social media, it is Elante, and I kind of love it. Hopefully, GH will give fans what they want. And they seem to really want Liz with Dante. And many think that Rick is going to mess up and lose Liz anyway. So, there’s that.

Similar Life Experiences

Also, Dante and Elizabeth are both decent people who want to do the right thing and they are generally moral. Now, obviously, neither Dante nor Liz are perfect. They’ve both made their fair share of mistakes. Liz really messed up with the Jake Do thing back in the day. Remember, she figured out that Jake was really Jason Morgan back then, but she didn’t tell anybody because she wanted to keep him for herself. So, she lied. But then, of course, the truth came out and he wound up with Sam. And then it came out he was really Drew because they invented a secret twin.

As for Dante, remember he went undercover in the WSB trying to bring down some criminal who had almost killed Lulu back in the day. And Dante wound up turned into a brainwashed killer. And he had that awful PTSD for a while and it tore his whole family apart and made life really hard on Lulu. But now both Dante and Elizabeth are solid citizens. They’re good parents and they’re decent people and they’ve been through a lot of similar things. So Dante and Liz can really understand each other both past and present. And their similar life stories on various touchstones are part of why Dante, I think, keeps going to Liz for advice because she gets him. She doesn’t judge him.

General Hospital: Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) - Elizabeth Weber (Rebecca Herbst)General Hospital: Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) - Elizabeth Weber (Rebecca Herbst)
General Hospital: Dante Falconeri – Elizabeth Webber

The Kids Connection

Another reason Liz and Dante have endgame potential is because of their kids. Liz is a good mom to her own boys and she also cares about Rocco (Robert Adamson). She’s helped him out a lot. And Liz even got hurt recently trying to stop Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) from taking Rocco and running off, even though Britt got the best of her. And I mean, Rocco wasn’t really taken. He wanted to go. Plus, Liz was honest with Dante about Rocco’s suspicions and that she thought he shot Cullum. And at the same time, Lulu wasn’t honest with him.

And Dante’s been a good stepdad to Scout (Kayden Brenna Tokarski). He was there for Sam and Drew’s daughter. So Dante obviously would be good to Liz’s boys. I think both Dante and Liz could be great stepparents to each other’s kids. And also Elizabeth knows what it’s like to grieve a soulmate.

So Liz will be understanding about Dante always, you know, loving and grieving Sam. She has already been supportive of Dante when it comes to Sam. Not only did Dante and Liz both lose loved ones, but they lost them to tragic violence. Her husband, Franco (Roger Howarth), was murdered by Peter August, and his fiancée, Sam, was murdered by Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) after she donated some of her liver to save Lulu. So, Elizabeth totally understands these complicated feelings that Dante has.

What About Rick?

As for Rick, our leaker said he may get sick. They mentioned some kind of blood disease or blood cancer and that it might be life or death, but not necessarily that he would die. Even if he’s fine, that doesn’t mean he and Elizabeth will last because, let’s face it, Rick usually screws up all of his relationships. Plus, a lot of fans would actually like to see him back with Alexis. They love their snarky vibe. I could really see Dante and Liz as Endgame and in the end Rick just winding up absolutely crushed.
