Cardi B isn’t letting the drama ruin her moment. The rapper wrapped her “Little Miss Drama Tour” in Atlanta over the weekend, but not before sparking headlines for threatening to cancel the final show over alleged mistreatment of her team at State Farm Arena.

Ahead of the concert, Cardi took to Instagram Live to voice her frustration, claiming venue staff crossed a line. “Your f-cking employees are being disrespectful… I’m not performing today,” she said. “We got in here, your employees are being f-cking rude for no reason, being rude for no reason.”

She added, “I feel a certain type of way, because you being disrespectful. I did 35 shows, and I never had a problem, and we’ve been kind to everybody.”

The Grammy winner also doubled down on X, writing, “When you hold power and authority, use it with kindness and respect. Never abuse it… because not everyone will endure your arrogance in silence. Treat others exactly like you demand to be treated. Atlanta… I’ll see you soon.”

Despite the heated exchange, Cardi ultimately hit the stage at State Farm Arena, closing out the final stop of her tour as planned. And she didn’t stop there.

After the show, the “Bodak Yellow” hitmaker kept the energy going, performing again at an after-party held at The Dome Atlanta, proving she wasn’t about to let the situation derail her night. She turned heads in a halter-style snakeskin bodysuit featuring a plunging neckline that highlighted her curves, paired with thigh-high boots.

The fitted silhouette and daring print gave the outfit a fierce vibe, while her glam, complete with sleek hair and dramatic makeup, pulled the whole look together for a true after-party moment.

“When you hold power and authority, use it with kindness and respect. Never abuse it… because not everyone will endure your arrogance in silence. Treat others exactly like you demand to be treated. Atlanta… I’ll see you soon,” she wrote.

By the next day, Cardi shifted the tone, posting a heartfelt Instagram Reel thanking everyone involved in her “Little Miss Drama Tour.” “A LETTER IS NOT ENOUGH ..Yall gotta hear it from my mouth [red heart emoji]….Thank You, my friends,” she captioned the clip.

“Hey y’all, it is your girl Cardi B, and I have to do this video right now while I’m drunk, so I can tell you how I really, really feel and not overthink while I’m talking,” she said. “I just want to say thank you everybody who came out to the Little Miss Drama Tour and was a part of the ‘Little Miss Drama Tour.’”

She went on to shout out everyone behind the scenes, from production and glam to dancers, venues, catering, security, and even bus drivers, making it clear the tour was a team effort. “I also want to say thank you to everybody because this tour went really, really smooth and it went really smooth because we all did a great job,” she added.

This isn’t the first time Cardi B has found herself in the headlines during her “Little Miss Drama Tour.” Back in February, the Grammy-winning rapper sparked backlash after joking on opening night that she’d use “bear mace” to protect herself from ICE agents.

The comment quickly caught the attention of the Department of Homeland Security, which responded publicly on X by referencing her past. “As long as she doesn’t drug and rob our agents, we’ll consider that an improvement over her past behavior,” the agency wrote.

Cardi didn’t stay quiet, firing back with her own post, writing, “If we talking about drugs let’s talk about Epstein and friends drugging underage girls to rape them. Why yall don’t wanna talk about the Epstein files?”

Her “Little Miss Drama Tour” kicked off on February 11 in Palm Desert and spanned 35 shows, all in support of her second studio album, “Am I The Drama?,” which dropped in September.

Eldest Member of The Osmonds Was 76

Published

Alan Osmond, the eldest member of the band The Osmonds, has died at age 76.

Alan died in Utah on Monday, April 20, surrounded by his wife, Suzanne Pinegar, and their eight children, the Osmond family confirmed in a statement to local NBC affiliate KSL TV 5 in Salt Lake City.

Alan was the eldest performing member of the Osmond family and the third child of George Virl Osmond Sr. and Olive Osmond. He performed as a member of The Osmonds alongside his brothers Wayne, Merrill, Jay, Donny and Jimmy. (His older brothers, Virl and Tom, were both born with severe hearing impairments.)

Alan was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1987, however, he credited his faith as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with helping him overcome his medical challenges.

Hollywood mourned the deaths of some of its most legendary stars in 2026. The year started off with Broadway performer and influencer Bret Hanna-Shuford’s death at age 46. At the end of the month, comedy acting icon Catherine O’Hara died at age 71. In February, Designing Women’s Camilla Carr died at age 83, Dawson’s Creek […]

“I just determined when I got it, ‘Hey, I may have MS, but MS does not have me,’” he said in a 2013 interview.

His wife, Suzanne, said at the time, “He doesn’t ever use it as an excuse.”

Alan and his younger brothers Wayne, Merill, 72, and Jay, 71, formed barbershop quartet The Osmonds in 1958. In 1962, they joined the cast of The Andy Williams Show as performers and remained on the show through 1971. In later years, Alan’s brothers Donny, 68, and Jimmy, 63, joined the group. Their sister, Marie Osmond, 66, also found fame as a performer.

Alan largely stopped performing in 2007.

Alan’s death comes just 15 months after brother Wayne died at age 73 in January 2025.

“My dear brother Wayne passed away peacefully last night from a stroke. I’m so grateful that I had the opportunity to visit him in the hospital before he passed,” Donny said in an X post at the time.

“Wayne brought so much light, laughter, and love to everyone who knew him, especially me. He was the ultimate optimist and was loved by everyone,” Donny continued. “I’m sure I speak on behalf of every one of us siblings when I state that we were fortunate to have Wayne as a brother.”

The singer added, “Even though we are separated in this mortal life, I know that by the grace and resurrection of our Savior, Jesus Christ, we will have the opportunity to be with Wayne for eternity.”

Alan, meanwhile, is survived by his wife, Suzanne, and their eight children, including David Osmond, who competed on the eighth season of American Idol, which aired in 2009.

Like his father, David, 46, was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2005.

“When I originally received the diagnosis, I had tested positive for West Nile Virus, but some of the symptoms did not match up, so they tested for MS and found I had the relapsing/remitting form of this disease, which my doctors believe may have been dormant in my system but was triggered by the virus,” David said in a 2012 interview. “I was in complete denial — I had grown up watching my dad battle MS and my symptoms were not really the same, so I just could not believe it.”

Footage has surfaced showing D4vd at his arraignment as he reportedly pleads not guilty to the murder of Celeste Rivas Hernandez.

Footage Shows D4vd At Arraignment As He Reportedly Pleads Not Guilty To Murder Of Celeste Rivas Hernandez

According to TMZ, D4vd appeared in court on Monday, April 20, hours after he was charged with lewd and lascivious sexual acts with a person under 14 years old, mutilation of a human body, and first-degree murder for the death of Celeste Rivas Hernandez. To note, he was also charged with “special circumstances,” which included “lying in wait, committing the crime for financial gain, and murdering a witness to an investigation.”

Per the outlet, in addition to pleading not guilty, D4vd’s legal team also made a request of the court. Specifically, the team asked for his preliminary hearing to be held within 10 days. Per TMZ, a defendant is “entitled” to that timeline. But also, his team could be “banking on the case still being a work in progress.”

Per the outlet, if the preliminary hearing arrives and prosecutors don’t have witnesses and evidence ready, “the judge could dismiss the case outright.”

TMZ adds that the family of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez attended D4vd’s arraignment. Additionally, the outlet published footage of D4vd inside the courtroom.

Social Media Reacts Amid Footage Of D4vd At Arraignment

Social media users entered the comment section of the footage, which was shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, with their reactions amid D4vd’s appearance at his arraignment and his not guilty plea.

X user @casinochise wrote, For all the excuse makers. The legal age of consent in California is 18. So legally, anyone under 18 cannot give valid consent. I hope others are charged as accessories after the face although I have a feeling they probably were offered immunity if they cooperate.”

While X user @AlwaysAtMe added, Even if he beats this case his life will never be the same”

X user @GrayElm2 wrote, Note that he is already being hit with a special allegation of lying in wait. This is huge. That means they have evidence that he lured her into an ambush, more or less. We are going to be learning a lot more soon, I’m sure”

While X user @MadamYapalotNYC added,I wonder how they figured out that that was why. I mean, obviously that she was gonna tell on him would seem like the most plausible reason… but to say it pretrial means they have proof… so, phone, informant.. I wonder Ig we’ll find out, since he plead NG RIP Celeste :(“

X user @theouterwatch wrote, Absolutely gruesome. Prays for the girl. Tragic she would have even been introduced to that world at such a young when most are just getting ready for high school.”

While X user @YkWunder added,Hes smirking thats not a stone cold face, he thinks hes going to get away with this. But if any of yall know this queen of justice. Youll know with on top of all the evidence. He aint getting away with nothing.”

More On The Singer & The Murder Of Celeste Rivas Hernandez

As The Shade Room previously reported, last week, D4vd was taken into custody in connection with the alleged 2025 murder of Celeste Rivas Hernandez. At the time, he was held without bail. And footage surfaced of his arrest. Then, on Monday, his mugshot surfaced.

Hours after prosecutors announced their plans to charge him with first-degree murder and the other offenses, their charging documents went public. As The Shade Room previously reported, the documents showed the “disturbing timeline of the relationship between Celeste Rivas and D4vd.” Prosecutors allege D4vd engaged in sexual abuse of Hernandez between September 2023 and September 2024. During this time, she reportedly could’ve been as young as 12.

On or around April 23, 2025, prosecutors believe D4vd killed her. Then, on or around May 5, 2025, he allegedly mutilated her body. All of this, reportedly, because he believed she would expose their sexual relationship.

“We believe the actual evidence will show David Burke did not murder Celeste Rivas Hernandez. We would like to have the evidence come into the light of day,” D4vd’s lead defense attorney, Blair Berk, reportedly told the court on Monday.

Burger King's Mandalorian and Grogu collection

2026 is lining up to be a big year for Star Wars, which is already in the middle of one of its best Disney+ series with Maul: Shadow Lord. The show brings Darth Maul out of the shadow of the Jedi and into the spotlight as the primary character in a Disney+ series, and not only has it earned widespread acclaim from critics and audiences, but it’s already been renewed for Season 2. Star Wars will return to the big screen next month on May 22 with the release of The Mandalorian and Grogu, which will be the first Star Wars movie released theatrically since The Rise of Skywalker in 2019.

Before The Mandalorian and Grogu hit theaters everywhere, though, Disney had to do what it does best, which is sell merchandise based on adorable toys. The franchise already has the perfect character to do this in Grogu, who has become the face of toys for Disney and Lucasfilm since the first season of The Mandalorian premiered back in 2019. This week, Burger King announced that it is partnering with Star Wars for a new Limited-Time menu inspired by The Mandalorian and Grogu, which features several new items that are a spin on some of Burger King’s signature classics.

Arrakis · Dune

Paul Atreides

You carry a weight most people would crumble under — the knowledge of what you’re capable of, and the burden of what you might have to become.

  • You see further ahead than others and you plan accordingly, even when the vision frightens you.
  • You are driven by loyalty to your people and a sense of destiny you didn’t ask for but can’t escape.
  • Paul Atreides is not simply a hero — he is someone who understands the cost of power and chooses to bear it anyway.
  • That gravity, that willingness to carry what others won’t, is exactly you.

USS Enterprise · Star Trek

Captain Kirk

You lead with instinct, warmth, and an absolute refusal to accept a no-win scenario — because you’ve always believed there’s a third option nobody else has thought of yet.

  • You take the mission seriously without ever taking yourself too seriously.
  • Your crew would follow you anywhere, not because you demand it, but because you’ve earned it.
  • Kirk’s genius isn’t tactical — it’s human. He reads people, bends rules with purpose, and wills outcomes into existence through sheer conviction.
  • That combination of warmth, audacity, and relentless optimism is unmistakably yours.

The Rebellion · Star Wars

Princess Leia

You are the kind of person who holds the line when everyone else is losing faith — not because you’re fearless, but because giving up simply isn’t something you’re capable of.

  • You lead through conviction. Your voice carries because your belief is unshakeable.
  • You gave up everything ordinary the moment you chose the cause, and you’ve never looked back.
  • Leia is not a supporting character in her own story — she is the moral centre of the entire rebellion.
  • That same fierce, principled, unbreakable core is what defines you.

The Nostromo · Alien

Ellen Ripley

You are not reckless, not grandiose, and not particularly interested in being anyone’s hero — you just refuse to stop when it matters.

  • You see threats clearly, you document the truth even when no one listens, and when the time comes you handle it yourself.
  • Ripley’s heroism is earned, not performed. She doesn’t have a speech — she has a flamethrower and a plan.
  • You share her composure under the worst possible pressure, and her refusal to pretend the monster isn’t there.
  • When it counts, you don’t flinch. That’s everything.

The Wasteland · Mad Max

Max Rockatansky

You have been through fire that would break most people — and what came out the other side is something the world underestimates at its peril.

  • You don’t ask for help, don’t need validation, and don’t wait for anyone to tell you the rules no longer apply.
  • Your loyalty, when it finally arrives, is absolute — but it’s earned in silence and tested in action, not in words.
  • Max is not a nihilist. He is someone who lost everything and found, against his will, that he still has something worth protecting.
  • That bruised, stubborn, ultimately human core is exactly yours.

Among the new items coming to Burger King’s limited-time Star Wars menu starting on May 4 are the BBQ Bounty Whopper, which is served in a helmet-shaped carton inspired by the galaxy’s most legendary bounty hunter. Also coming to Burger King is Grogu’s Blue Cookie Shake, which is a hyperspace sword of creamy soft serve blended with blue sugar cookie syrup and topped with Grogu’s favorite blue cookies. Grogu is also getting some Garlic Chicken Fries, which are crispy white-meat Chicken Fries seasoned with Parmesan and garlic and served in a Grogu-themed carton with garlic dipping sauce to fuel your next adventure. Last but certainly not least are the Imperial Cheddar Ranch Tots, which are perfectly crispy tater tots stuffed with melty cheddar cheese, fluffy potatoes, and ranch seasoning served in an Imperial-themed carton.

This marks the first time that Burger King has released Star Wars-related merchandise since the premiere of Revenge of the Sith in 2005. Burger King Germany did provide fans with the opportunity to earn a free Whopper in 2019, though, if they agreed to read Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker spoilers, which remains one of the strangest official promotions in history.

Michael Stumbles Out of the Gate With 27% Rotten Tomatoes Score : Coastal House Media

Street Fighter | Official Trailer 2026 Movie 1080p : Coastal House Media

Sony made a massive statement at CinemaCon 2026, unveiling brand-new posters for Spider-Man: Brand New Dayalongside fresh images from Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse. And if there was any doubt, the Spider-Man universe is heading into its most emotional and intense era yet.

Brand New Day Posters Signal a Darker Spider-Man

The first wave of posters for Spider-Man: Brand New Day instantly sets the tone. One image shows Spider-Man mid-air, surrounded by masked warriors wielding swords, hinting at the presence of The Hand, a dangerous Marvel organization with deep ties to street-level crime and mysticism. That reveal alone suggests this film is leaning much darker and more grounded than previous entries.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day [credit: Sony Pictures]

Another poster zooms in tight on Spidey’s mask, with MJ reflected in his eye. It is simple, emotional, and tells you everything about this story without a single line of dialogue. Peter Parker is alone, and the people he loves no longer remember him. That emotional core is exactly what Sony and Marvel emphasized during the presentation. The film picks up after Spider-Man: No Way Home, where the world has forgotten Peter’s identity, forcing him to live completely in the shadows. Tom Holland has already called it the most emotional and grown-up Spider-Man story yet, and these posters back that up visually. There is a clear shift happening here. This is not high school Spider-Man anymore. This is isolation, identity loss, and consequences.

A More Grounded, Street-Level Threat

The inclusion of ninja-like enemies in the marketing is not random. CinemaCon footage reportedly confirmed the presence of villains like Scorpion and Tombstone, grounding the film in a more brutal, street-level conflict. That is a major tonal pivot. Instead of multiverse chaos, Brand New Day looks focused on New York crime, personal stakes, and physical danger. It feels closer to Daredevil than Doctor Strange. Visually, the posters reinforce that direction, with warm city lighting, tight framing, and grounded action pointing to a Spider-Man who is completely on his own.

Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-verse [credit: Sony Pictures]

Beyond the Spider-Verse Images Lean Into Chaos and Scale

While Brand New Day is going smaller and more personal, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse is doing the exact opposite. The newly revealed images show a massive escalation in scope, color, and intensity. One standout image features a punk-inspired Spider variant crashing through a chaotic collage of colors and textures, reinforcing the franchise’s signature experimental animation style. Another shows Miles Morales in an emotional moment with his father, grounding the story before everything explodes into multiversal chaos.

CinemaCon footage confirmed the story picks up immediately after the Across the Spider-Verse cliffhanger, with Miles trapped on Earth-42 and facing his alternate self as the Prowler. That alone raises the stakes to another level. This is no longer just about saving the multiverse. It is about Miles confronting who he could become.

The Final Chapter of Miles Morales’ Story

Sony is positioning Beyond the Spider-Verse as the conclusion to the trilogy, and everything shown so far reflects that. The visuals are bigger, the emotions are heavier, and the stakes are personal and universal at the same time. The film is expected to bring back multiple Spider-variants while resolving major arcs involving Miles, Gwen, and his family. Based on early footage, it is not holding anything back. This is the endgame.

Two Spider-Man Stories Moving in Opposite Directions

What makes this moment so interesting is how different these two projects feel. Brand New Day is grounded, emotional, and isolated, while Beyond the Spider-Verse is expansive, chaotic, and multiversal. But they share one thing. They are both about identity. Peter Parker is dealing with losing his identity, while Miles Morales is fighting to define his. CinemaCon 2026 made it clear that both stories are about to push Spider-Man further than ever before.

Release Dates

Spider-Man: Brand New Day hits theaters July 31, 2026. Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse is set for June 18, 2027.

18 Best Crime and Mystery Shows on Netflix (April 2026)

Published

on

Crime and mystery shows are Netflix‘s bread and butter.

Between original series and network classics, the streamer is a one-stop shop for all your crime show needs, from iconic hits like Veronica Mars to new favorites like His & Hers.

This April, Watch With Us has updated its ever-growing list of the best crime and mystery shows that you can stream on Netflix right now.

Our first pick is Big Mistakes, a new crime comedy co-created by Dan Levy and Rachel Sennott that’s currently on Netflix’s top 10 chart.

Related: 3 Binge-Worthy Netflix Thriller Shows to Watch If You Like ‘His and Hers’

Netflix’s new thriller series His & Hers has taken over the site’s top 10, currently sitting comfortably atthe top of the streamer’s most popular shows list. Viewers can’t get enough of this twisty thriller starring Tessa Thompson and Jon Bernthal as two estranged spouses trying to solve a murder in their hometown. But since the […]

‘Big Mistakes’ (2026)

When Nicky’s (Levy) sister, Morgan (Taylor Ortega), steals a necklace from a gift shop, she has no idea that the store is run by a Turkish gangster named Yusuf (Boron Kazum). But the two wayward, middle-class adults certainly uncover Yusuf’s dangerous background when he kidnaps both of them and threatens them at gunpoint, blackmailing them into carrying out illicit errands as penance for Morgan’s act of petty theft. Thus, Morgan’s minor criminal act turns into the siblings committing a series of major ones, as the two white-bread suburbanites are thrust into the world of organized crime.

Big Mistakes marks Levy’s return to scripted TV following the conclusion of the hit Canadian sitcom Schitt’s Creek, and while both feature similar fish-out-of-water premises, Big Mistakes is an entirely different wheelhouse. The series is totally binge-worthy with an addictive narrative that plays out across the eight-episode arc, with humor that really hits, family drama that’s affecting and an extremely compelling crime narrative. The excellent cast also features Laurie Metcalf as Nicky and Morgan’s mother.

‘Killing Eve’ (2018-2022)

This fantastic spy thriller series from Phoebe Waller-Bridge and, later, Emerald Fennell, stars Sandra Oh as MI5 agent Eve Polastri, whose dissatisfaction with her job leads her to make a brash mistake that gets her fired. However, her interest in pursuing female assassins leads her to join an underground MI6 division dedicated to tracking Villanelle (Jodie Comer): a psychopathic international assassin who consistently evades capture. But when Eve and Villanelle eventually encounter one another, they find themselves locked in a game of cat-and-mouse that draws both women closer to one another in unexpected ways.

Killing Eve does an excellent job at subverting tropes of spy thrillers and hinging on truly electric chemistry between Comer and Oh. Oh is thrilling in her role portraying the unconventional and messy Eve, while Comer is an utterly magnetic “femme fatale” type of villainous psychopath. The mutual obsession between these disparate parties creates a compelling dynamic, and the sharp writing, genuinely funny dark humor and high production values (from lush cinematography to meticulous costuming) work together to create an unforgettable and dynamic series.

‘Veronica Mars’ (2004-2007)

Popular high school student Veronica Mars (Kristen Bell) has the perfect life and the perfect boyfriend, but it all falls apart following the tragic murder of her best friend Lilly Kane (Amanda Seyfried), the downfall of her respected sheriff father and the abandonment of her mother (Corinne Bohrer). In the aftermath of both Veronica and her father (Enrico Colantoni) being ousted by their community, they open up their own private investigation agency, where Veronica works part-time solving crimes around town.

Though Veronica Mars only lasted for a criminally short three seasons, the series has endured as a cult hit with a passionate fanbase. The show boasts a smart blend of teen drama and crime noir, and Bell commands the show with her magnetic breakout performance. Veronica is a strong female character given rich character development, but the supporting characters are terrific too, creating a show with textured, dense world-building. While the revival season leaves something to be desired, the first run of Veronica Mars is some of the best television ever.

‘How to Get to Heaven from Belfast’ (2026)

Saoirse (Roisin Gallagher), Robyn (Sinéad Keenan) and Dara (Caoilfhionn Dunne) travel back home to County Donegal in northwest Ireland to pay respects for their fallen comrade, but when they arrive, they are met with an unsettling discovery at the wake. This leads them to experience a series of strange events that compel them to stay together in their hometown for longer than anticipated, as they investigate the bizarre circumstances surrounding their friend’s mysterious death.

How to Get to Heaven from Belfast comes from the creatives behind Netflix’s beloved comedy Derry Girls, and while Belfast does have some sharp humor, it’s a bit darker than the popular Troubles-set sitcom. Ultimately, series creator Lisa McGee knocks it out of the park yet again, crafting a unique, genre-blending mystery show that is anchored by compelling chemistry between the lead actors, weighty themes, strong emotions and an addictive story that you won’t want to stop watching once you start.

‘Unfamiliar’ (2026)

Meret (Susanne Wolff) and Simon Schäfer (Felix Kramer) are former German spies who have settled down in Berlin, raising their teenage daughter Nina (Maja Bons) while running a restaurant and a safe house together. On the night of their daughter’s sixteenth birthday, a man who’s been attacked requests shelter at their safe house. But the man isn’t all he appears to be, and he bears knowledge of a disastrous covert operation from years ago, the consequences of which the Schäfers have been desperately trying to run from. Suddenly, all their skeletons are threatened to be revealed.

This German espionage thriller has proven to be a surprise hit for Netflix, having only recently debuted and already becoming one of the streamer’s most popular shows. Viewers can’t get enough of Unfamiliar’s riveting twists and turns while also being a smartly written narrative with high-stakes drama, complex, nuanced characters and an emotional grounding that frees it from some of the familiar tropes of spy stories. The fast pace and scant six-episode arc create a truly binge-worthy experience full of surprises you won’t expect.

‘His and Hers’ (2025)

Former news anchor Anna (Tessa Thompson) purposefully spends her days alone and isolated, until she hears about a murder in her hometown of Dahlonega, Georgia. Finding herself suddenly reinvigorated in her career, Anna travels to Dahlonega to investigate, where she is forced to contend with her estranged husband, Jack Harper (Jon Bernthal), who just happens to be assigned to the case. Having been drawn to the killing partly out of curiosity, partly because of loose ends left from her past, Anna searches for the truth while repeatedly butting heads with Jack, who is increasingly suspicious of Anna’s true motives.

This gripping, fast-paced murder-mystery wouldn’t be quite what it is without two compelling performances from Bernthal and Thompson, who really inject some complex character nuance and emotional tension into an already bingeable narrative. Though there are aspects of His & Hers that might strain plausibility, it only adds to the entertaining, crime pulp intrigue of this taut, tight thriller.

‘The Following’ (2013 – 2015)

Over a decade ago, Kevin Bacon was enticed to join his first network TV series, The Following, a mystery thriller with the Tremors actor as former FBI agent Ryan Hardy. After catching a serial killer named Joe Carroll (James Purefoy), Ryan left his job behind and even briefly romanced Carroll’s ex-wife, Claire Matthews (Natalie Zea). The only thing that could bring Ryan out of retirement is the escape of Joe Carroll.

In his time behind bars, Joe has amassed a large following of devoted maniacs who are willing to kill for him and die for him if necessary. It’s a brand new game with Joe as the ringleader, and nearly anyone in Ryan or Claire’s life could be one of the followers hiding in plain sight until it’s time to strike at their enemies.

‘Good Cop/Bad Cop’ (2025)

Good Cop/Bad Cop takes a more comedic approach to the crime and mystery genres, but there are still dramatic stakes and murder cases to investigate. The series is set in Eden Vale, a small town that Chief of Police Hank Hickman (Clancy Brown) has kept relatively crime-free for years. But times are changing and Hickman’s daughter, Detective Lou Hickman (Leighton Meester), badly needs some backup.

Lou gets what she asked for, but not in the way she wanted it. Instead of bringing in a new partner for Lou, Hank recruits his son, Detective Henry Hickman (Luke Cook), to return to town and work alongside Lou. This angers Lou at first, but it turns out that she and her brother make a great team. They may even change Eden Vale’s reputation.

‘City of Shadows’ (2025)

Suspended cop Milo Malart (Isak Férriz) is tapped by Judge Susana Cabrera (Ana Wagener) to look into the circumstances surrounding the mysterious death of a construction company CEO. Ostracized by his other colleagues, Malart is subsequently paired up with Deputy Inspector Rebeca Garrido (Verónica Echegui) to investigate. Ultimately, the single grisly murder ends up being one of a string of ritualistic killings that take place atop historic landmarks in Barcelona. Will Malart be able to find redemption and catch the killer?

City of Shadows prioritizes pacing and atmosphere over shock and gore, and while there are still some twists and turns to look forward to, the show is more interested in showcasing solid storytelling and the fantastic chemistry between its two leads. For crime drama fans who could use less blood and guts and more character drama and moody tension, City of Shadows is likely to be the perfect fit for you.

‘Love and Death’ (2023)

Texan Candy Montgomery (Elizabeth Olsen) lives the normal day-to-day of a late-’70s suburban housewife. But when Candy decides to shake things up and engage in an extramarital affair with her neighbor and friend from church, Allan Gore (Jesse Plemons), things end up turning shockingly deadly. Allan’s wife, Betty (Lily Rabe), is discovered murdered with 41 blows from an axe, and Candy becomes the prime suspect. Love & Death takes a look at the events leading up to this grisly crime, in addition to the trial and the verdict.

Love & Death offers an empathetic look at the boredom and ennui experienced by American housewives in the 20th century, packaged within a genuinely twisted and engaging true-crime story that still raises questions today. Screenwriter David E. Kelley writes Candy’s character with tact, giving her empathy while articulating how her repression could manifest violent outcomes. For her towering performance as Candy, Olsen received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress – Limited Series or Television Film.

‘The Beast in Me’ (2025)

Novelist Aggie Wiggs (Claire Danes) has isolated herself in the wake of her son’s tragic death and her divorce from her wife. With Jarvis’ invitation, Wiggs begins writing about him. But as their coy, cat-and-mouse relationship progresses, is Wiggs really in danger herself?

In August 2025, Netflix has been a little light on premiering new true crime series — so that’s given the Watch With Us team the opportunity to travel back in time and highlight some of the best shows from recent years. Thank You! You have successfully subscribed. Subscribe to newsletters Enter your email Please enter […]

This new series from the creatives behind The X-Files and Danes’ own Homeland is constantly engaging crime-thriller pulp led by a pair of phenomenal performances from Rhys and Danes. Critics have lauded the show for its deliciously addictive nature that leaves you guessing with every episode, and the unmistakable chemistry between the two leads in this intriguing mystery and character drama.

‘Absentia’ (2017-Present)

Netflix recently added the Amazon Prime series Absentia, which was sadly cancelled after only three seasons, but is nevertheless a fantastic and absorbing thriller. The show focuses on FBI Agent Emily Byrne (Stana Katic), who is declared dead after going missing while investigating a serial killer. Six years later, Byrne is found in a cabin in the woods with no memory of the previous six years. As she struggles to understand what happened to her, she is implicated in a series of murders.

Castle co-star Katic shines in this wonderfully dark and intense show, with a compelling psychological thriller plot line. The show blends a hybrid of crime investigation, twist-filled mystery and engaging character drama. The excellent pacing and high stakes keep viewers engaged and on the edge of their seats.

‘Untamed’ (2025-Present)

In Yosemite National Park in California, Kyle Turner (Eric Bana) is a special agent for the Investigative Services Branch of the National Park Service. Turner is tasked with investigating the death of a woman who fell from a cliff and curiously ended up with a gnawed leg and a gunshot wound before she fell. The investigation of the dark crime leads Turner into the lawless terrain of the open wilderness as his own past wounds open up to haunt his present day.

Untamed is a stellar crime thriller with a central mystery that will keep you hooked throughout the scant six-episode season, and is bolstered by a gravitas-heavy performance from Bana. Plus, the gorgeous backdrop of the real-life Yosemite is easy on the eyes as Bana is. In addition to Bana, the terrific supporting cast includes Rosemarie DeWitt (The Boys) and Sam Neill (Jurassic Park).

‘Black Rabbit’ (2025-Present)

Mismatched brothers Jake (Jude Law) and Vince (Jason Bateman) are reunited in New York City, as Vince’s chaotic, hard-up life leads him to getting a job working at his successful brother’s elite restaurant, Black Rabbit — which he happened to co-found and once owned alongside Jake. But any semblance of a happy reunion is short-lived, and both brothers find themselves navigating the criminal underworld as they evade loan sharks whom Vince owes money to.

While you might not have guessed Bateman and Law to play convincing siblings, Black Rabbit received praise in particular for the chemistry between the two actors. Their simpatico performances elevate the gritty, fast-paced crime story that has received comparisons to the Safdie brothers’ anxiety-inducing Uncut Gems. Riveting and endlessly engaging, Black Rabbit is a prestige thrill ride like no other.

‘Beauty and the Bester’ (2025)

In 2022, convicted rapist and scammer Thabo Bester appeared to have committed suicide in his jail cell, where he was serving life in prison after his conviction in 2012. When his burned body turned up in his jail cell, authorities presumed self-immolation. But one year later, Bester is found living under an alias in Johannesburg, with his alleged escape accomplice and lover, the influencer aesthetics doctor Nandipha Magudumana. They were arrested and are currently awaiting trial.

Beauty and the Bester takes a look at this absurd, modern-day South African Bonnie and Clyde story: the circumstances surrounding Bester — dubbed the “Facebook rapist” — and his initial conviction, his alleged escape and aftermath, and the psychology behind his bizarre, ill-fated relationship with Magudumana. Using a variety of testimony from various sources, Beauty and the Bester crafts a compelling portrait of a real-life case that’s the stuff of movies.

‘Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story’ (2024)

The second season of Ryan Murphy’s Monster anthology series takes a look at the infamous Menendez brothers case from 1989, in which the two brothers (played by Cooper Koch and Nicholas Alexander Chavez in the show) killed both of their parents after allegedly enduring years of abuse. The show depicts the fraught family life between the brothers and their parents, offering a depiction of the environment in which children could be led to commit parricide.

A newly minted Emmy winner, Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story features exceptional lead performances from Javier Bardem and Chlöe Sevigny, who play the brothers’ parents, José and Kitty Menendez. Using a Rashomon-style storytelling device, the series utilizes different perspectives on important events and potentially unreliable narrators to paint a portrait of the case that is ultimately left up to interpretation by the viewer.

‘Mindhunter’ (2017-2019)

Set in the late 1970s, Mindhunter follows two FBI agents who track down psychopathic killers by getting into their heads. Agents Holden Ford (Jonathan Groff) and Bill Tench (Holt McCallany) deign to understand the psychology of a serial killer, looking at their upbringings and mangled psyches to think like them. While effectively pioneering modern serial killer profiling, the two agents find themselves often getting a little too close to their subjects.

Executive produced by director David Fincher (who frequently directed episodes, oversaw the screenwriting and production, and was viewed by many as the de facto showrunner), Mindhunter was sadly canceled after only two seasons but had developed a passionate fanbase. The series was widely acclaimed, unique within its genre for its cinematic visual flair and painstaking character development. At the same time, Groff and McCallany have fantastic chemistry, which adds a richness to the already compelling and detailed narrative.

‘Dark’ (2017-2020)

When walking home through the woods with friends, a child mysteriously vanishes one night in the small German town of Winden. In the race to find him, secrets are revealed among the otherwise ordinary citizens and their families, along with the troubled history that the town rests on — and that they are all connected to. The interconnections between past and present prove to be cosmic, and a dark, supernatural secret that’s been hiding in plain sight threatens to unravel both Winden and the entire world.

Alex Cooper’s Husband Accused of Yelling at Her Staff: Report

Published

on

Things at Alex Cooper’s Unwell Network appear to be, well, unwell, according to a new report.

A Bloomberg article published on Monday, April 20, alleged that Cooper’s podcast network has seen a dramatic turnover in staff over the past two years. The piece also claimed that Cooper’s husband, film and TV producer Matt Kaplan, who Bloomberg said runs the network’s day-to-day operations, has been at the center of internal turmoil.

According to the report, Kaplan “has earned a reputation for frequently yelling at staff members,” resulting in crew members reportedly threatening to walk off projects if he “doesn’t keep his distance.”

The piece further alleged issues on the set of the network’s recent YouTube series, Unwell Winter Games. Kaplan allegedly “berated the staff on set and threatened to prevent them from ever working in Hollywood again if they messed up, resulting in a prominent, long-experienced crew member breaking down in tears.”

Eminem Marks 18 Years Of Sobriety With Milestone Post

Published

on

Eminem at 50 Cent Star Ceremony - Los Angeles

Eminem is celebrating a major personal milestone, marking 18 years of sobriety with a recent post on Instagram. The rapper shared a simple photo highlighting the significance of his long journey toward recovery. The rapper is known for his openness about past struggles, with the achievement reflecting years of commitment that have drawn supportive reactions from his friends and fans.

Eminem Shares A Photo Of His Sobriety Chip

On April 20, Eminem, born Marshall Bruce Mathers III, shared a simple post on his social media showing off a black and gold sobriety chip with the roman numeral “XVIII,” marking 18 years of his being sober. The saying “To thine own self be true” was inscribed on the border, and the words “unity,” “service,” and “recovery” were written on the sides of a triangle. He added the caption “XVIII,” followed by a 1st place medal emoji.

Many followers congratulated the 53-year-old rapper on the remarkable milestone, with one writing, “My GOAT is 18 years sober, so happy for you unc.” One user added, “F-cking 18 years. That’s called standing the test of time in a nutshell.”

Others also shared photos of their sobriety chips, with one person sharing that Eminem motivated him. “LETS GO KING!!! Inspired me to quit when I saw you in Austin! I’m proud to be 1 YEAR SOBER!!!!”

The Rapper Had A Near-Fatal Overdose In 2007

Eminem has been open about his substance issues, and once shared that he took between 10 and 20 pills daily. “I was taking Valium, Ambien, and Vicodin. And I was taking a lot… The numbers got so high I don’t even know what I was taking,” he wrote in an essay for Vibe magazine.

The rapper had been going through personal issues leading up to his near-fatal overdose in 2007. He filed for divorce for a second time from Kim Scott the year prior, and his best friend was killed in a bar fight the following week. In December 2007, Eminem collapsed in the bathroom of his home after overdosing on methadone pills. He was rushed to the hospital, where doctors said that if he had been brought in two hours later, he wouldn’t have survived.

“I didn’t even want to believe it was a disease. But I realized it when I f-cking almost died and then I still went back to using. I literally almost died,” he shared.

Eminem Detailed His Overdose In A Documentary

In 2025, the documentary “Stans” was released, which focused on the rapper’s career through the eyes of his fans. In it, Eminem shared details of his overdose, saying that he was in a “vicious” cycle of depression and popping pills. “I woke up in the hospital and I didn’t know what happened. I woke up in the hospital with tubes in me and sh-t and I couldn’t get up. I wanted to move,” he said.

One of the biggest reasons he decided to get sober was his daughter, Hailie Jade. Eminem had missed her first guitar recital due to his overdose, and he was wracked with guilt. At that moment, the rapper thought that if he couldn’t be sober for himself, he could at least do it for his daughter. He entered rehab in 2008 and has been sober since.

Elton John Helped The Rapper In His Sobriety Journey

One of the people Eminem turned to for guidance in his sobriety journey was legendary singer Elton John, who has been sober since 1990. In 2010, John said in an interview, “I’ve been helping Eminem in the last 18 months, and he is doing brilliantly,” as reported by The Guardian.

The rapper said he thought of the singer when he decided to get sober, as John was also in the entertainment business and could relate to his lifestyle. “He understands, like, the pressure and any other reasons that you wanna come up with for doing drugs,” Eminem shared.

Eminem and John first met at the 2001 Grammys when they performed “Stan” together. At that time, the rapper was criticized over lyrics that some perceived as homophobic. However, in later years, John defended the rapper, saying that he never viewed him as homophobic. The two have since developed a close bond that extends beyond their work in entertainment.

Eminem Became A Grandfather For The Second Time

His 18-year sobriety isn’t the only thing Eminem is celebrating. On April 14, the rapper’s adopted daughter, Alaina Marie Scott, gave birth to a daughter named Scottie. The birth marks Eminem’s second time becoming a grandfather in less than two years.

In March 2025, Hailie gave birth to a son named Elliot Marshall McClintok, with the middle name serving as a nod to her father.

Eminem is reportedly working on various projects, and according to his manager, Paul Rosenberg, he is developing new music. However, there has been no confirmation on when a new album will be released.
