Chris Rock Reveals Why Adam Driver Calls 'Every 6 to 8 Months'

Who knew that “Star Wars” alum Adam Driver was a fan of Chris Rock? The comedian is currently promoting his new movie, “Misty Green,” which premieres at the Toronto International Film Festival later this week. While discussing the film’s casting, Rock revealed that the “Girls” alum has wanted to work with him since seeing one of Rock’s most beloved films.

Fans might not believe that the “Marriage Story” actor is actually a big fan of Rock’s work. In particular, he loved the comedian’s 2014 romantic comedy “Top Five” and has wanted to work with him ever since.

In an interview with Variety, Rock revealed that Driver has a long list of directors that he wants to work with. Indeed, Driver has worked with everyone from Ridley Scott to Michael Mann to Spike Lee. Most notably, he even worked with legendary director Francis Ford Coppola in 2024’s “Megalopolis.”

“Adam really liked ‘Top Five,’ so he would call me periodically. I was like, ‘Dude, I did ‘Top Five’ 10 years ago.’ But every six to eight months, I get a call from Adam Driver. ‘What are you working on?’ I’m sure he’s got a long list of directors that he’s checking with, so when he gets down to the R’s, he calls me. And this time I happened to be working on something.”

In addition to Driver, the film also stars “Slow Horses” star Rosalind Eleazar as the titular Misty Green. The supporting cast also includes Daniel Kaluuya, Anna Kendrick, Topher Grace, and Rock himself. While speaking to Variety, Rock revealed that Kendrick was a big fan of “Top Five” as well.

“It was ‘Top Five’ love, and I loved her movie [‘Woman of the Hour’]. She’s a great director. And there’s something about her [dating] Black men [on-screen] that’s kinda like, ‘Hmm! OK …’” Rock joked.

As for Kaluuya, Rock revealed that he had to “beg” to get the actor to appear in his project. “Daniel was kind of retired. We hung out when I was on tour with Chappelle. I had to beg him. He was the only one I had to beg,” Rock said. “Everybody else was like, ‘I can’t wait to do this movie!’ Daniel, I had to go to his hotel. I definitely tap-danced. It was worth it.”

“Misty Green” is Rock’s first directing project in over a decade, as his first two movies struggled at the box office. Although he’s not anticipating it, he said that he would “love to have a box office hit” and would “love for the people that helped me make this movie to get their money back.”

He continued, “So I hope this movie does very well, because I hope people continue to show faith in me. I hope Adam Driver calls me six months from now, like, ‘What are you working on, dude?’”

Rock also expressed hope that Michael B. Jordan, still hot off the success of “Sinners,” will “call me up.”

Will Adam Driver Be Nominated For His Role In ‘Misty Green’?

The “House of Gucci” actor received consecutive Academy Award nominations for Best Supporting Actor for 2018’s “BlacKkKlansman” as well as Best Actor for his role in 2019’s “Marriage Story.”

There has been talk that he may receive a nomination for his role in James Gray’s “Paper Tiger,” which premiered at Cannes earlier this year. It’s also possible that he might receive a nomination for his role in “Misty Green.”

When Variety speculated that “Misty Green” will become part of the awards conversation, Rock demurred: “You’re not gonna hear me say that. No one’s ever talked about anything I’ve made like that before.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Rock was asked how he felt about potentially returning to the Oscars for the first time since 2022.

“I’m not getting nominated. The only way I’ll go back is if I’m nominated, and I’m not getting nominated. And that’s OK. We’ll deal with that if it happens. Like, let’s manage expectations,” he joked.

However, the interviewer quickly pointed out that in his new movie, a woman smacks her colleague, and Rock’s character is forced to decide whether to forgive her.

“Oh. Yeah. You know, I never even thought about it like that,” Rock confessed. “No. This is literally the first time I — that she got connected to — yeah.”

When asked about the Will Smith slap now, Rock admitted, “I wish nothing would have happened,” and admitted that he didn’t “want to say anything” that would take attention away from his new movie.

“Misty Green” is scheduled for a theatrical release on October 9 following its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 12.

Millie Bobby Brown and David Harbour at 'Stranger Things' season 5World Premiere

David Harbour is getting candid about what it’s like working with Millie Bobby Brown

The “Stranger Things” co-stars played an on-screen adoptive father and daughter in the wildly popular Netflix series. Brown played Eleven while Harbour played Jim Hopper.

Despite their previously rocky relationship, the duo seems to be collaborating again, and fans are excited to see what they might have in store.

Despite having played father and daughter for nearly a decade, Harbour is not tired of sharing the spotlight with Brown.

The co-stars are set to reunite on a new Netflix spy series, where they both have starring roles. They will also executive produce it along with Brown’s husband, Jake Bongiovi.

The series follows a disgraced FBI agent returning to the field following the kidnapping of his estranged daughter, who is also an FBI agent. Emmy winner Jack Thorne, who previously worked with Brown on the “Enola Holmes” movies, wrote the script.

In an interview with E! News, the “Black Widow” actor reflected on the special bond between their characters. “I go anywhere in the world, and people know the relationship of Hopper and Eleven,” he gushed.

The 51-year-old wants to channel that dynamic in exploring other stories and to build something that is truly unique and original.

“It really is a working relationship, where we love what we bring out in each other,” he shared. “You’re in service of a greater story, and we both know how to do that and think about that and talk about that. I love what we have together, and I love to be able to see her daily.”

He also revealed details on the untitled project, saying, “It’s very unexpected, and we’ve come up with something that I’m very, very proud of.”

The actor’s sentiments were also echoed by the “Enola Holmes” actress. Last year, she also had a few things to say about her co-star following the premiere of the final season of their show.

She highlighted that the cast of “Stranger Things” has always had a united front, prioritizing their bond above everything else.

“We’ve been doing that for the last 10 years. I mean, we have always been united in that,” The Blast reported that the actress explained. “We love this show with everything, and we value our friendship more than anything.”

She also had a lot of loving words to say about her on-screen father figure, adding that working with Harbour again was so nice and that it was exciting to “come back together.”

Brown’s comments came after shocking allegations rocked the sci-fi drama set. Allegedly, the then 21-year-old had filed a bullying and harassment complaint against the then 50-year-old, casting a dark cloud on the hit series final season.

“There were pages and pages of accusations,” a source revealed, per The Blast. “The investigation went on for months.”

The allegations, however, did not contain any sexual assault, and the outcome remained unclear. While Netflix did not release an official statement on the incident, an insider said that Brown had a representative on set while filming.

Despite the rumors that surrounded them, the actors appeared in a united front at the final premiere of the Netflix hit show.

The Blast reported on a video shared by Netflix of them at the red carpet event that showed Harbour and Brown in a heartwarming moment.

The caption read “David Harbour and Millie Bobby Brown arrive together for one last Stranger Things premiere.” The duo was also captured laughing and hugging each other while posing for pictures.

Just months after Harbour and Brown’s seemingly friendly reunion, the “Thunderbolts” actor shifted the focus to his mental health.

Earlier this year, the 51-year-old spoke on how important therapy has been for him, saying, “I have been in therapy since I got sober in 1999.”  He explained that when he got sober, he was forced to confront a lot of demons that rose to the surface.

Harbour, however, added that he has not had a manic flare-up, which was usually accompanied by what he described as “fundamental narcissism,” since he started psychoanalysis with a good therapist.

“Only recently have I started intense psychotherapy, and it has made a world of difference in my treatment,” the actor, who was diagnosed with Bipolar disorder at age 25, said, according to The Blast.

The 8 Most Fun Classic Movies, Ranked

Published

on

David Huxley standing next to Susan Vance looking confused in Bringing Up Baby.

Long before streaming services and franchise universes, classic movies proved that great storytelling, sharp humor, and unforgettable characters never really go out of style. Classic films such as His Girl Friday, Singin’ in the Rain, and Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid have been quoted at parties, rewatched on rainy Sundays, and passed down from one generation to the next, not because they’re required viewing, but because they’re just genuinely, endlessly fun.

What makes a movie “classic” isn’t just its age. Some of the most fun classics are films that took big swings with new special effects, unconventional structures, or jokes nobody had tried before and landed them so well that audiences are still watching them decades later. We’ve compiled a list of some of the most purely entertaining classics out there, including comedies that still get real laughs, adventures that hold up against any modern blockbuster, and a few genre-defining favorites that changed movies for good. From the iconic screwball comedy, Bringing Up Baby, to the Oscar-nominated classic, Some Like It Hot, these are eight of the most fun classic movies, ranked!

‘Bringing Up Baby’ (1938)

Bringing Up Baby is frequently ranked as one of the funniest and most chaotic classic comedies ever made, making it a masterclass in screwball comedy that still holds up as pure entertainment years later. The plot is delightfully absurd and follows a stuffy, buttoned-up paleontologist, Dr. David Huxley (Cary Grant), who gets tangled up with a scatterbrained heiress, Susan Vance (Katharine Hepburn), who’s convinced she’s in love with him. Things spiral from there, involving a missing dinosaur bone, a pet leopard named Baby, and an escalating series of disasters over one increasingly unhinged day.

Director Howard Hawks structures Bringing Up Baby so that literally every scene makes things worse for Grant’s character and more of a delight for Hepburn’s. There’s no breathing room as one disaster triggers the next, and just when you think it can’t get more absurd, it does. Initially, Bringing Up Baby was a flop, but over the years, it has gained immense support from a new generation of film fans and is cited as one of the greatest classic comedies in cinema history.

7

‘My Man Godfrey’ (1936)

Carole Lombard as Irene Bullock and William Powell as Godrey Parks look at each other in My Man Godfrey.

Gregory La Cava‘s My Man Godfrey is recognized as one of the greatest screwball comedies of all time, known for its blend of farce and surprisingly pointed social commentary. The movie revolves around a naive socialite, Irene Bullock (Carole Lombard), who, during a scavenger hunt, “finds” a homeless man, Godfrey (William Powell), living in a city dump and brings him back as her prize. In exchange for his help, Irene convinces her chaotic family to hire Godfrey as their butler, but Godfrey turns out to be far more capable and mysterious than anyone expects, quietly running circles around the family’s absurdity while hiding secrets of his own.

The beauty of My Man Godfrey is its social theme, which makes it feel more substantial than pure slapstick while still being a blast to watch. Released during the Great Depression, the film pokes fun at the obliviousness of the ultra-wealthy while also having real sympathy for those struggling, giving the comedy some unexpected depth without ever losing its light touch. Lombard and Powell, who had previously been husband and wife in real life, are an unpredictable delight who keep the audience engaged with their witty banter and quick one-liners.

6

‘His Girl Friday’ (1940)

Gary Grant handing Rosalind Russell a card while Ralph Bellamy looks over at her in His Girl Friday

His Girl Friday is universally recognized as one of the sharpest and most fun classic movies because of its sheer velocity, significant influence, and unforgettable comedic performances by an exceptional cast. The plot follows a hard-charging newspaper editor, Walter Burns (Cary Grant), who tries to stop his ex-wife and former star reporter, Hildy Johnson (Rosalind Russell), from remarrying and leaving the business by pulling her into one last big story.

The movie is packed with hysterical improvisation from the entire cast as well as rapid-fire, overlapping dialogue, mimicking how real conversations actually sounded, which was also almost unheard of in cinema at the time. The effect is a screwball comedy that feels electric and alive even by today’s standards. Grant and Russell have blistering chemistry, and Russell in particular gets to play a woman who is whip-smart, ambitious, and never treated as less capable than the men around her, cementing His Girl Friday as a timeless and incredibly fun classic movie.

5

‘North by Northwest’ (1959)

Alfred Hitchcock‘s espionage classic, North by Northwest, is celebrated as one of the most entertaining thrillers of all time that manages to be intense, funny, romantic, and visually spectacular all at once. Cary Grant stars as a slick New York advertising executive, Roger Thornhill, who is mistaken for a government agent by a group of spies, and suddenly finds himself being chased across the country while trying to clear his name — all without knowing who’s after him or why.

Beyond its immediate entertainment value, North by Northwest established the blueprints for the modern spy-thriller and action-adventure genre, making it a significant classic in cinema history. Its DNA can be traced directly into the James Bond franchise as well as a slew of popular television series, including The Man from U.N.C.L.E. and Mission: Impossible. North by Northwest received three Academy Award nominations, including Best Original Screenplay and Best Art Direction. In short, North by Northwest is a thrilling classic that shaped blockbuster filmmaking and proved that a suspense film didn’t have to sacrifice charm, playfulness, or wit to be gripping.

‘Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid’ (1969)

Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid is often held up as one of the most purely enjoyable classic movies because it took the traditional tropes of the Western genre and infused them with buddy-comedy charm, essentially creating something that felt fresh at the time and still plays beautifully today. The movie centers around two outlaws, Butch Cassidy (Paul Newman) and the Sundance Kid (Robert Redford), as their easy, criminal life starts to collapse when a relentless posse is sent to hunt them down, eventually forcing them to flee all the way to Bolivia in search of a fresh start.

Redford and Newman’s chemistry and their easy, bantering friendship are undeniably the heart of the movie, playing off each other like a classic comedy duo who bicker and joke even in the middle of life-threatening situations. The film moves fluidly between comedy, romance, and drama, including a famous, almost tonally daring bicycle scene set to “Raindrops Keep Fallin’ on My Head” that has nothing to do with the plot and everything to do with charm. Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid received seven Oscar nominations, including Best Picture and Best Director, and went on to win four of its nominations, notably for Best Cinematography and Best Screenplay.

‘Blazing Saddles’ (1974)

Mel BrooksBlazing Saddles is widely regarded as one of the most audacious and fearless comedies ever made, known for taking direct aim at Hollywood westerns, racism, and cinematic conventions all at once, using absurdity as its main weapon. The plot follows a Black railroad worker, Bart (Cleavon Little), who is appointed sheriff of a small frontier town by a corrupt state attorney general, as part of a scheme involving a railroad deal. Blazing Saddles earned three Academy Award nominations, including Best Song, Best Film Editing, and Best Supporting Actress for Madeline Kahn‘s sidesplitting performance.

Blazing Saddles defied what studios typically allowed and rewrote the rules by breaking the fourth wall, parodying western movie clichés, and eventually spiraling into a chaotic finale where the characters literally burst off the film set and into other Warner Bros. productions, making it a staple in the classic comedy genre. Beyond the shock value, the film features clever wordplay, running gags, and quotable lines that still hold up as a genuinely well-constructed comedy today. Brooks himself has said he doubts the movie could be made the same way today, precisely because of how far it pushed, which is part of why it remains one of the most talked-about comedies of the era.

‘Singin’ in the Rain’ (1952)

The Oscar-nominated classic, Singin’ in the Rain, is considered to be the greatest movie musical of all time, and much of its enduring appeal comes from pure, infectious joy that seems to have been engineered from the ground up to make audiences smile. Set during the 1920s, Gene Kelly stars as a silent film star, Don Lockwood, who must navigate the industry’s awkward, often disastrous transition into the Talkies, which is complicated by the fact that his glamorous leading lady (Jean Hagen) has a screechy, unusable voice, while falling for an aspiring actress, Kathy Selden (Debbie Reynolds).

Kelly, Reynolds, and Donald O’Connor perform physically demanding, wildly inventive dance numbers (including O’Connor’s astonishing “Make ‘Em Laugh,” a comedic routine that showcases his acrobatics and slapstick skills) that still feel exciting and impressive today. Kelly’s solo dance through a rain-soaked street, swinging around a lamppost and splashing through puddles, is one of the most iconic and joyful sequences in film history and is a scene that’s become shorthand for pure cinematic happiness. Unlike many classic musical movies that lean on melodrama, Singin’ in the Rain stays light, funny, and warm-hearted throughout, embracing pure entertainment as its goal.

‘Some Like It Hot’ (1959)

Billy Wilder‘s Some Like It Hot ranks as one of the funniest movies of all time (the American Film Institute placed it at #1 on its list of the one hundred greatest comedies), and its enduring reputation as pure fun comes from just how many comedic elements it juggles at once without ever dropping the ball. Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon star as down-on-their-luck musicians, Joe and Jerry, who, after accidentally witnessing a mob hit, disguise themselves as women and join an all-female band that’s headed to Florida, where they both fall for the band’s singer, Sugar Kane (Marilyn Monroe).

The film’s central gimmick of two men hiding in plain sight as women doesn’t just set up one joke; it fuels an escalating series of complications and absurd situations throughout the entire film, making it a non-stop laugh fest. While both Monroe and Curtis deliver sensational performances, Lemmon gives a knockout performance that results in some of the movie’s biggest laughs. Today, Some Like It Hot is frequently cited as a masterclass in comedic structure and is a testament to how a film can be silly, romantic, tense, and biting all at once, while still building towards one of the most satisfying comedic payoffs ever put on screen.

Original Star Wars Coming to IMAX 70mm for First Time

Published

on

Star Wars: Visions Presents The Ninth Jedi Review : Coastal House Media

When The Ninth Jedi first debuted as one of the standout episodes of Star Wars: Visions, fans immediately wanted more. Thankfully, Lucasfilm and Production I.G. delivered. Star Wars: Visions Presents – The Ninth Jedi expands that original concept into a full eight-episode adventure, and for the most part, it’s a thrilling addition to the galaxy far, far away.

Rather than relying on familiar faces or endless callbacks, The Ninth Jedi confidently tells its own story. Lah Kara continues her journey to become a Jedi while searching for her missing father, the legendary lightsaber smith Zhima. The series builds on the fascinating mythology introduced in the original short, particularly the concept of lightsabers that change color based on their wielder’s connection to the Force, giving the franchise one of its most unique Force-related ideas in years.

Visually, the series is stunning. Production I.G. delivers fluid action sequences, cinematic camera work, and expressive character animation that often rivals theatrical anime. Lightsaber duels feel fast, impactful, and beautifully choreographed, while the environments help create a galaxy that feels both familiar and refreshingly original.

The biggest strength, however, is its sense of adventure. Kara is an easy protagonist to root for, and the supporting cast develops naturally throughout the season. The series embraces classic Star Wars themes of hope, mentorship, and choosing one’s own path without becoming weighed down by decades of continuity.

Star Wars Visions Presents – The Ninth Jedi

Not everything lands perfectly. A few middle episodes slow the pacing, and some supporting characters could have benefited from additional development. The story occasionally feels like it’s setting up future installments rather than fully resolving every thread by the finale.

Still, those are relatively minor complaints in what is one of the franchise’s strongest animated offerings in recent years. Critics have similarly praised the series for bringing fresh energy to Star Wars, with outlets like The A.V. Club calling it “a breath of fresh air” and early reviews earning it an 84 Metascore with universal positive reception.

Final Verdict

Star Wars: Visions Presents – The Ninth Jedi succeeds because it remembers what made the original short so compelling while expanding its world in meaningful ways. It’s imaginative, beautifully animated, and confident enough to tell a Star Wars story that stands on its own.

If this is the future of the Visions Presents banner, it’s a direction Lucasfilm should continue exploring.

Big Brother Spoilers: Dee SPINS & HUSTLES Votes – Yash Questions the Pact

Published

on

Big Brother 28: Yash Patel

It’s time for a Big Brother spoilers update including info on the Labor Day party, how hard Dee Valladares‘s campaigning, Yash Patel reconsidering his endgame allies, and some sizzle between Drew Campbell and Melody Morris after they were served alcohol by production.

So first, it’s confirmed BB Blockbuster ends at final 6, so we have got two more weeks of that comp before real blindsides begin. For Labor Day, the houseguests got fun stuff. A Jenga set, booze, and a lot of food. Barbecue stuff.

And the Have Nots got to eat which was a treat. The Jenga’s been a big focus of today’s feeds. That and Drew getting in his father-son time with Rick Devens.

Big Brother: Angela Targets Barrett

Dee and Angela Murray talked about Barrett. Dee said she’d make sure Barrett Pfeiffer regrets this for the rest of his life. Angela called Barrett’s move a $750,000 mistake.

Taylor Brown wants Yash to win HOH next week and nominate Drew, Melody and Barrett. That leaves Taylor and two icons off the block. If there’s a renom and Yash is HOH, Taylor would be the renom unless she won veto and saved Melody.

Then Yash could renom an icon. Barrett’s hoping that Melody or Drew win the next HOH so he’ll be safe since Barrett can’t play that comp. And once the houseguests see this week isn’t the double eviction, they should figure out it’s next week.

And Yash told Taylor in the double eviction, he wants to put up Drew and Melody and evict Drew. Speaking of Drew, he tattled to Devens and Dee that the others were planning to do a mocking hand puppet thing at the veto meeting.

The other Ceasefire 4 will be ticked if they find out. Barrett may have overheard them. Drew also told Devens he made a mistake and should’ve nominated Melody on his HOH. Drew also told Devens about the Ceasefire alliance.

Drew said the newbies called a ceasefire until the icons are all out. Drew also told Devens that he’s the only one in the house he trusts. He asks what about Melody and Drew said he doesn’t trust her like he trusts Devens.

Drew also told Devens he won’t vote to evict him or Dee, just Angela. Of course, if it’s Devens and Dee on the block Thursday night because Angela wins Blockbuster, Drew will have to vote one of them out.

Big Brother 28: Drew’s Got Moves

Drew is campaigning to Devens as hard as if Drew were on the block this week. It may be a good game move. Drew also told Devens that if he wins HOH, he’ll nominate Yash and Taylor. Drew is never ever going to give up on daddy Devens.

Plus, Drew really wants to see Yash evicted. Those two are gunning hard for each other. Taylor and Yash made a final two deal. Also, Dee told Devens she won’t campaign against either him or Angela.

That came up when Devens tried to convince Dee to work with him and campaign against Angela. Dee said she wasn’t going to do it and doesn’t want to hear about it. Devens said it won’t be anything negative but Dee said don’t even tell me.

She told Devens “it’s not my problem”. Yet Dee later cam-talked and plotted how to convince Yash to keep her over Angela. Dee plans to say Angela can’t win comps but Dee can, so she can help him.

She also plans to tell Yash if they’re together on the block, Dee’s a bigger target for eviction. Dee said she’ll tell Yash she’s done with the alliance and will just be loyal to Yash. And she wants to tell Yash if he keeps Angela, he’ll be outnumbered.

Dee cam talked about making a logical argument. After working out her approach in her head, she went to Yash. And Dee told Yash that Melody, Drew and Barrett want to keep Angela.

And Dee said that Yash is playing their game if he goes along with it. Dee also planned to talk to Taylor and may be looking at a three-way alliance with her, Yash and Taylor.

Big Brother 28: Yash PatelBig Brother 28: Yash Patel
Big Brother 28: Yash Patel

Big Brother: Dee Lies to Devens

So, Dee, I suspect, might’ve lied to Devens’ face because despite what she told him, Dee’s campaigning hard. Dee also told Yash if he and Taylor vote to keep her, the other icon will also vote to keep her, whether it’s Angela or Devens.

Dee also said she’s done with Drew and Barrett and told Yash point blank that both those guys want him out. By the way, Devens talked to Yash after Dee and made a nearly identical pitch but didn’t present it nearly as well as Dee.

Speaking of votes, Barrett cam talked and said he thinks he can beat anyone at final two. And Angela came to campaign to him. Barrett told her Drew wasn’t the one behind him nominating the icons. Angela threw Drew under the bus anyway.

Also fun on the feeds, Taylor was doing cartwheels and flips. Everyone applauded but Big Brother said “stop that” and Taylor sassed back that you can’t do anything around here.

Drew and Melody still haven’t kissed on camera but on the feeds, he walked by her in the kitchen and Drew put his hand on Melody’s bottom. And they were in the pool yesterday alone although others were nearby.

And some fans think there were things going on below the water. I watched the clip and couldn’t tell either way. But Angela was sitting on the side of the pool, behind them and could see what was going on.

Labor Day Libations on BB28

Drew and Melody were tipsy because Big Brother served booze for Labor Day. Angela said Melody was rubbing her foot up Drew’s leg in the pool. Angela said he was doing the same to Melody.

And she said  Drew was rubbing on her waist under water. Yet, Melody seems to hate Drew, then forgives him. So, it’s love to hate him thing, it seems. Also yesterday, since Melody’s a Have Not on cold showers, Drew got in the shower on the other side of the curtain and cranked it up hot hoping to warm her up.

After Melody got out, she teased Drew and said she was going to open the curtain. He said are you for real and Melody said no. Drew said that would’ve been bad while the look on his face was like, whoa…

What’s The Tea On Nevaeh Akira, Blueface & NBA YoungBoy?

It remains unclear the exact history and connection between Nevaeh Akira and NBA YoungBoy. As The Shade Room previously reported, back in July, YoungBoy threw shots at Blueface, alleging that the tattoo under Nevaeh Akira’s eye used to say his name.

Then, amid Akira’s baby shower in August — just days before she gave birth to her and Blueface’s son, Jonathan Jr., she and the rapper got into another argument about YoungBoy.

More recently, earlier this week, Akira took to a stream to share that despite her connection with YoungBoy, she ultimately chose to be with Blueface.

Days of our Lives: MYSTERY HEIR Slips On Stefano’s Ring – EJ Stunned!

Published

on

Days of our Lives: . EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel)

Days of Our Lives reveals that somebody new is wearing the late Stefano DiMera (Joseph Mascolo)’s infamous Phoenix ring. EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) hasn’t even had the ring that long, but he’s very attached to it. Now somebody else has it thanks to Rita Lesley (Maggie Carney).

And soon EJ is going to be blindsided by this twist. The big question is since Rita’s always been ride or die with the DiMeras, why would she give Stefano’s ring to somebody else? And I suspect this might be another son of Stefano on the scene set to make big moves against other DiMeras.

Days of our Lives: Stefano Dead & Gone

So, you remember when Stefano’s remains were found in the crypt during the kidnapping? That finally gave us closure about whether the Phoenix was really dead and gone. And that was when Dr. Wilhelm Rolf (Richard Wharton) gave EJ the infamous black and gold Phoenix ring. And Rolf said Stefano wanted to pass it on to his heir.

But that doesn’t necessarily mean that EJ is Stefano’s actual heir. When EJ’s mother, Susan Banks (Stacy Haiduk), saw the ring, she freaked out. If you remember, she snatched it off EJ’s hands and Susan ran off and did some of her voodoo and she claimed to have cleansed Stefano’s ring of evil and she warned Elvis Junior keep away from the ring. And of course, he didn’t listen to Susan and he keeps wearing his late father Stefano’s ring, hiding it from his other siblings now and then. And of course, he’s upset because EJ seems to have misplaced the ring.

DOOL: EJ’s Ring Missing

He realized it was missing when he was with Chad DiMera (Connor Floyd) and Belle Black (Martha Madison) at the family’s private jet hanger. And now EJ’s hitching a ride to Italy with his brother Chad and his ex-girlfriend Belle. And EJ claimed he wanted to visit his daughter Sydney DiMera (Sidney Malakeh). But EJ also suggested he might be able to lend a hand trying to figure out the chess set clues.

After all, this quest is not only about Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) and John Black (Drake Hogestyn). It ties back to the DiMera family as well. And when EJ called Rita, viewers saw the ring sitting right there on the coffee table, but she lied to EJ and said she looked around and hasn’t seen it. But then Rita pocketed the ring. And this week, we’re going to see that ring on some mystery man’s hand. And there’s a shipping envelope in the background.

So clearly, Rita sent the ring off to this person that I think is her new boss. And that means there’s a good chance this guy is a DiMera. I mean, who else would want the late Stefano’s Phoenix ring unless they were a DiMera and thought it belonged to them and more specifically that it didn’t belong to EJ. Plus, the same guy is the one who is spying on them and giving out the clues to the chess set mystery, which is a clear sign he’s Stefano adjacent.

Days of our Lives: Drew. Rolf Dissappears

Plus, Dr. Rolf has been abruptly absent. He only briefly showed his face after ghosting out of town. If you remember, Rolf came back right before Lexie Carver (Nikki Crawford)’s death when he shut down his and EJ’s secret lab that contained three other pods presumably of resurrected individuals. Rolf swears he’s out of the resurrection game and then he took off again.

But I also wonder if he might somehow be involved with this new mystery guy. So Rolf may have thrown his loyalty to this man the same way that Rita apparently has. The shifting loyalties of longtime loyal DiMera family hench persons is another huge red flag. So let’s dig in and talk about who exactly this mystery man is that has the ring on his finger.

Peter Blake Alive on Days

So, the very first person that springs to my mind is Peter Blake (Dan Gauthier). As we saw, Rolf was the one who killed Peter when he was in the hospital. He snuck in and put a shot in his IV and then he died. That was right after Peter did the crypt kidnappings of EJ, Kristen, Chad DiMera, (Conner Floyd) Tony DiMera (Thaao Penghlis), and Theo Carver (Tyler Joseph Andrews). And it was because Peter wanted control of the family, business, and fortune. And Peter thought that the kidnapping and killing them was the best way.

He was literally trying to get rid of all his competition. Peter wanted to be Stefano‘s sole heir. And it would have been very easy for Rolf to give Peter a serum to make him look dead and then shove him in a pod for safekeeping, especially if his loyalty was to him. So maybe, Rolf resurrected Peter and planted the essence of Stefano into his brain the same way he did with Steve years ago.

Days of our Lives: Stefano 3.0 or Stefan DiMera Returns

This might be Stefano 3.0 because Stefano was Stefano 2.0. That would explain Rita following the new guy’s orders if he’s supposed to be Stefano. Another option is another Phoenix son, Stefan DiMera (Brandon Barash). He supposedly died from heart issues last October in Almania, but everything about his death was sketchy. Vivian Alamain (Louise Sorel) didn’t file for his death certificate till months after his alleged death, and they exhumed Stefano’s grave to test the DNA, but that doesn’t mean much because he has a twin brother. Jake Lambert (Brandon Barash)’s dead, so the remains in the Almanean grave could have been Stefan’s twin, and it still would have been a DNA match.

Plus, with Philip Kiriakis (John-Paul Lavoisier) and Gabby getting closer and ready to renew their relationship, it’d be a good time for Stefan to come back for a love triangle. We’ve also known since we met Stefan years ago that he wanted to take control of DiMera. His mom Vivian helped him and it could be that she has also faked her death because she’s done it before several times. She may be helping Stefan take over as head of the DiMeras and faking both their deaths might have been part of the plan.

Days of our Lives: EJ DiMera

Vivian Still Alive on DOOL

Honestly, I don’t think any fans think Vivian is dead, and most of them don’t think Stefan’s dead either. Now, let’s talk about somebody I think is a longer shot, but we have to think about it. Andre DiMera (Thaao Penghlis). He’s been dead for years, ever since Abigail Deveraux (AnnaLynne McCord) killed him. But death has never stopped Days of Our Lives writers from bringing characters back from the beyond.

Nobody in the DiMera family stays dead for too long. So, we just have to mention Andre as a possibility. However, the hand that’s wearing the Phoenix ring in the promo looks like a much younger person than a hand on Thaao Penghlis‘s hand. Right. So, another really out there possibility is that Rolf created a Stefano clone. He could have grown one from scratch like he planned to do when he was trying to implant Kayla Brady (Mary Beth Evans) with a Stefano embryo a few years ago.

Or Rolf could have used some rando and infused them with Stefano’s DNA. Obviously, this is a way out there whackadoodle idea, but this is also the kind of thing that Days of Our Lives is completely capable of doing. The DiMeras and Dr. Rolf have delved into the weird and supernatural for decades.

But based on the timing and some other red flags, I suspect the guy in the ring might be Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney)’s rich Italian fiancé, Dante Vitali (Franco LoPresti). We’re going to see Franco LoPresti debuting as Dante on September 14th. And it could be that Dante was raised by the Vitalis, but he isn’t really one of them. Or maybe his mom is a Vitali and his father is Stefano.

Days of our Lives: Marlena’s Secret Child with Stefano

There’s also been some hints that maybe Stefano and Marlena had a secret child that she doesn’t remember. Stefano would have loved to have had a kid with his queen of the night and might have held Marlena captive for the whole nine months because she talked about when she was on the DiMera Island and he could have taken the baby and had the Vitalis raise it in secret. There’s not a ton of Vitali history prior to Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun) showing up in Salem.

So there’s lots of room to invent retroactive history between Stefano and the Vitali family. The timing of Franco LoPresti’s debut and this guy wearing the ring is all sus to me. So, Dante may be the one who is buying the Kiriakis mansion by the way and Rita might have lied to EJ about it if she’s loyal to Dante and he may have actually targeted Sami specifically because of EJ. We’ll know lots more soon.

Mother, Grandmother Poisoned Kids With Allergy Meds, Kratom

Heather Thompson Mom Allegedly Kills Her 2 Sons Grandma and Herself in Suspected Murder-Suicide

A toxicology report revealed new disturbing details of a murder-suicide in Mechanicville, New York, including that mother Sarah Myers and grandmother Amy Steadman poisoned four kids with allergy medication and kratom.

The report determined that siblings Harper Harmon, 13, Hudson Harmon, 11, Gracelynn Harmon, 10, and Gavin Harmon, 10, were all given diphenhydramine, the ingredient in Benadryl, and kratom before they died in June, according to NewsChannel 13.

Kratom is a psychoactive herbal extract that can produce opioid-like effects, according to Yale Medicine. The substance is known as a “gas station drug” as it is sold legally and widely, but can be fatal in high doses.

As Us previously reported, authorities believe that Myers, 44, and Steadman, 64, killed the four children before they both died by suicide.

Police allege that a mother in Tennessee fatally shot three of her family members — including her 2 young sons — before dying by suicide. Humphreys County Sheriff’s Office were asked to conduct a welfare check on Friday, January 2, at the Waverly home of nurse Heather Thompson, and found her and three others dead […]

Harper, Hudson and Gracelynn all died after being poisoned, while Gavin was fatally stabbed while he tried to defend himself.

Myers and her ex-husband, Brady Harmon, were in a bitter custody battle at the time of the killings. Brady lives in Utah and was preparing to see his children in person for the first time since 2019 when the murder-suicide took place.

Authorities said that Myers and Steadman left behind letters, in which Myers claimed that Brady had been abusive towards her and their children. She also reportedly claimed that she killed the kids in order to save them from future abuse.

Brady has denied that he abused Myers and their kids. He spoke out about the killings in August, telling News10 that he “knew my kids were murdered” before their causes of death were confirmed. “And then I know those two are the ones that did it,” he said of Myers and Steadman.

“My kids suffered,” Brady told WRGB. “To poison them and also to stab them – there’s a special place in hell for people like that.”

Brady claimed that Steadman didn’t want him to see his children, and he also shared that he and Myers were in touch on the day of the murders as he tried to organize an upcoming trip for the kids to visit him.

He shared text messages in which Myers told him that the children were sick and that he should call them the next day.

In addition to sharing screenshots of his alleged conversation with Myers, Brady addressed the claims that he abused the kids in a lengthy caption.

Kristopher Karolkiewicz Likely Killed Wife Amanda Before Their Kids in Apparent Murder-Suicide

Kristopher Karolkiewicz likely killed his wife, Amanda “Mandy” Karolkiewicz, before he fatally shot their six children in an apparent murder-suicide. Death certificates obtained by News 8 revealed that Kristopher, 47, Mandy, 39, and their six kids were found dead after they were shot in the head at their home in Grand Haven, Michigan. Ottawa Sheriff’s […]

“I cannot understand how anyone could claim that this was done to ‘save’ my children from harm,” he wrote. “The greatest possible harm was done to them. They were terrified, betrayed, and robbed of their lives by the very people who were supposed to protect them.”

After noting that he had no suspicions about the murder-suicide based on his conversation with Myers, he said he believes “the truth would have begun coming out once they were safely with me.”

“They would have experienced the loving side of their family they had been separated from and taught to fear,” Brady wrote. “Instead of allowing that relationship to be restored, the people responsible chose to permanently silence four innocent children.”

The father of late Saint Mary’s College rugby player Dominic Peterson is speaking out after his son collapsed and died during a training run.

“At this point, we don’t actually know the technical component of his passing, so that’s something we have great interest in because he was such a fit kid,” Robert Peterson told CBS San Francisco in a story published on Monday, September 7. “He was amongst the fittest on a very fit team.”

Robert said his son spent “all summer running every hill in our neighborhood” before moving into his dorm on the campus in Moraga, California, on August 30.

The school revealed via Facebook that Dominic died after suffering a “medical emergency” during a two-mile run on Friday, September 5. He was 19. An official cause of death has not been released.

The Arizona State University men’s hockey team released a statement about sophomore defenseman Matthew Mayich, weeks after he collapsed during a controversial outdoor workout.  “Thinking of you 27 💛,” the statement read, which was issued by the team via social media on Saturday, September 5. “Matthew — your ASU teammates and the entire Sun Devil […]

Though the Peterson family has questions about Dominic’s death, they are working with Saint Mary’s to “make sure he leaves behind a legacy” with the creation of the Dominic Peterson Memorial Fund, which will support the men’s rugby team.

“We want to pay it forward,” Robert said. “He was genuinely a great kid. He didn’t have a bad bone in him.”

Dominic’s father added, “He’d go to war with you, but no malice. No anger. He was a pure dude.”

Saint Mary’s rugby captain Matthew Abbes said he spoke to Dominic shortly before the two-mile run began.

“I was ahead of him, which was strange because usually he’s in front of me,” Abbes told KTVU Fox 2. “I thought it was a little weird, but I crossed the finish line at the end of the path, and then one of my teammates came up to me and said Dom’s passed out back around the pull-up bar, and so I immediately took off [running back] down the path.”

Mario Storti, a former Saint Mary’s rugby captain who was helping with practice, was riding a bike behind the team when he saw Dominic fall.

“He just wanted to keep on going, so [he] asked for help up, and that’s why I helped him and tried to help him out, and then he started losing a bit, and that’s why I was carrying him, and he collapsed the second time,” Storti told KTVU.

Saint Mary’s College president Roger J. Thompson called Dominic’s death “a heartbreaking loss for our entire community.”

“Our deepest sympathies are with his family and loved ones, and with the teammates, coaches, classmates, faculty, and staff whose lives he touched,” Thompson said in a statement. “We hold all of them close in our hearts and prayers as they confront this unimaginable loss.”

Deiondra Sanders Posts DM From Woman About Snow, Jacquees

Rihanna Seemingly Addresses Baby Rumors, Talks "Little Pouch"

Deiondra Sanders is speaking out about co-parenting with Jacquees, bringing some new characters into the mix. After dropping screenshots of text arguments with the rapper, Sanders also shared an alleged DM from a mystery woman. This woman told Sanders she’s spent time with her son Snow and his daddy, Jacquees. All this amid Sanders taking to the internet to accuse her ex-fiancé and his family of preventing Snow from speaking to her when he’s with them.

Jacquees Calls Deiondra The “Worst Baby Mama” In Texts She Exposed

As previously reported, Deiondra Sanders called out Jacquees and his mom, Rosie Thompson, earlier this week. She posted a photo with Snow, claiming she hasn’t heard back from anyone about him. “I don’t like doing this but this the only way y’all respond when it [affects] y’alls image,” she wrote. She further explained herself on IG Story, saying that she and Snow are “very attached” and that he should be with her if the other parent isn’t going to be with him. It appears she may have been suggesting Snow is spending time with Jacquees’ family rather than him. Amid the callout from Deiondra, The Shade Room reported that Jacquees hopped on live to show Snow playing with his toys. “Son, son got some grandparent time, some cousin time, some daddy. That’s what it’s all about,” the rapper said.

Still, that didn’t stop Deiondra Sanders from continuing to air out her coparenting grievances. Also on Instagram, on Monday, she dropped another message claiming it’s been three days of being hung up on when she’s calling to speak to Snow. Additionally, she said Snow has been crying and trying to tell her something. “Y’all turn his iPad off so I can speak to him. This is crazy. People really be mad at the relationship I have with my son and that I am his safe space,” Deiondra wrote.

Text threads between Sanders and Jacquees, and in group chats, show Deiondra pleading to speak with Snow more and alleging Jacquees’ family members aren’t answering the phone. In several responses, Jacquees allegedly tells Sanders to shut up and calls out how she coparents. One thread shows the rapper asking Deiondra Sanders to stop calling. “Your the worst baby mama a n*gga could have,” Jac wrote in one message. Adding, “You act like a child you do way to f*cking much causing confusing and sh*t. Leave me the f*ck alone, call Laine.”

Deiondra Sanders Claims Woman DM’ed Her About Jacquees & Snow

Hours after exposing her and Jacquees’ messages, Deiondra circled back to IG Stories with a demand for her ex. She asked him to keep his women out of her DMs. “I don’t care what u got going on. Just let me have access to speak to my child once a day,” she wrote over a DM screenshot. Sanders didn’t show who sent the message, but it was a long paragraph from a person presenting to be a woman. The person praised Deiondra’s love for Snow before claiming to have spent time with the toddler. She complimented the child and claimed to have video and text evidence of spending time with him and Jac. This person also alleged that they have tried to defend Deiondra to Jacquees. Additionally, the woman claimed to be pregnant by the rapper, but unwilling to keep the pregnancy.

“I am expecting but I refuse to keep it. I got on him because how he treats and talks to you. I’m writing you from my backup page because you blocked me when I made a statement about coparenting. He wants me to keep the baby and I’m absolutely not. So he refuses to. It’s so much.”

Jacquees’ Mom Says Her Sister Is Being Targeted Amid Drama

Amid Deiondra’s text thread posting, it appears one family member’s phone number was leaked. The rapper’s aunt helps him watch Snow during weekdays and weekends with dad. Now, after the texts Sanders exposed, Rosie Thompson says her sister is “getting all sorts of hate calls.” The mother asked online users to stop calling and cursing her sister out because it’s not her. Now, attorneys are involved, she said.

“Her # was leaked on some messages….The attorneys are involved..let them handle it because we can’t…”

It appears the sister was the person who texted, “Hey Snow is sleep,” in one of the text threads Deiondra Sanders shared.

Every Star Fired From ‘Below Deck’ Through the Years

Below Deck Mediterranean‘s Aesha Scott spoke out in defense of the show after recent controversy surrounding Nathan Gallagher‘s domestic violence arrest.

Aesha weighed in after Below Deck alum Ben Willoughby posted an Instagram video recently where he criticized how the hit Bravo show has been casting the crew. In the comments section, Kyle Stillie reflected on his own experience as a newcomer.

“You know when I walked on your season lad I’d never even seen a yacht, let alone been on one,” he wrote. “Casting flew me to Miami for my Stcw and then straight to Grenada to start filming and while filming production consistently encouraged us to be ‘larger than life’ because ‘this isn’t yachting, this is below deck.’ Controversy is exactly what they’re look for no?”

The comments from Ben and Kyle were recapped in a fan video, which is where Aesha jumped in, writing, “I’ve done Below Deck for almost a decade now and have never once been told ‘this isn’t yachting it’s Below Deck.’ Also, over the years they stress more and more we don’t have to drink and they keep a good eye on us.”

Below Deck and its spinoff series may be reality TV shows, but there can be real-life consequences for the crew’s actions both on and off the ship. Aesha is currently featured on season 11 of Below Deck Med, which showed Nathan returning as boson. Off screen, news broke last month that Nathan was arrested on domestic violence charges in Australia in December 2025 after an alleged incident with an unidentified 29-year-old woman.

According to a police report viewed by Us last month, Nathan was charged with “assault occasioning actual bodily harm, intentionally chok[ing] a person without consent and common assault.”

The police memo reported that Gallagher was eventually granted conditional bail and he was convicted on three counts of domestic violence this month after he failed to appear in court.

Us also confirmed that Nathan is the subject of an Apprehended Violence Application that was filed on behalf of now-ex Gael Cameron in New South Wales. (An AVO is a legal order requested from a court to protect a person from someone who makes them fear violence, intimidation, harassment or stalking that is widely used in Australia, per NSW Government’s official website.)

“I’m not claiming I was perfect. I wasn’t. I made mistakes, and I will take responsibility for my own actions,” Nathan told Rolling Stone in an August statement. “I will not accept being portrayed solely through one the account of a relationship when there is another side and evidence relating to it. I have contemporaneous video footage from the night in question, as well as messages and other records, which I believe provide important context.”

In his statement, Nathan confirmed his breakup from Gael, with whom he shares 14-month-old son Kayden.

“There are also other matters surrounding the relationship that I have never discussed publicly,” he claimed. “My priority is being recognized as his father, establishing a relationship with him and ultimately finding a way for both of us to move forward and coparent peacefully.”
