Taylor Frankie Paul’s recent domestic violence allegations continue to trickle down to other aspects of her life, which now includes brand collaborations.

Per recent reports, Cinnabon has announced that it is cutting ties with a joint collab with the upcoming season of “The Bachelorette” and the currently streaming “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” following the allegations against Paul.

Cinnabon Axes Joint Collab With ‘The Bachelorette,’ ‘Mormon Wives’ Due To Taylor Frankie Paul Allegations

According to Entertainment Weekly, popular baked goods company Cinnabon has officially ended its collaboration with both “The Bachelorette” and “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” following the domestic violence allegations against the star of both shows, Taylor Frankie Paul.

“Cinnabon has made the decision to terminate its collaboration with ‘The Bachelorette’ and ‘The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives,’” a spokesperson told the outlet on Tuesday, March 17. “Recent developments and allegations surrounding the lead cast member led us to reassess this collaboration as it no longer aligns with our brand values.”

The company initially announced the collaboration with both shows on March 9, ahead of the March 22 premiere of “The Bachelorette” and March 12 release of “Mormon Wives” season four.

The products tied to both shows included a Swirled Soda, which was “inspired by the viral beverage trend popularized” on ‘Mormon Wives,’ and a “limited-time ‘Bachelorette’-themed packaging for CinnaPacks and ‘The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives’ –themed cup sleeve for the Swirled Sodas.”

A joint Instagram post from “The Bachelorette” and “Mormon Wives” accounts sharing a look at the products has now been deleted.

‘Bachelorette’ Still On Track To Air New Season Despite Fallout From Allegations Against Paul

According to TMZ, as of now, ABC has decided that the premiere of “The Bachelorette,” starring Paul will still air as planned, despite recent allegations of domestic violence against her.

Per the outlet, Paul is currently in New York City on a press run to promote the show, which is still slated to air the full season in its entirety. She is also still set to appear at the Los Angeles premiere for the show.

Additionally, TMZ also shared details about “The Bachelorette” team being laser-focused on casting Paul for the show despite her drama-filled past and prior domestic violence arrest.

An inside source close to the show, told the outlet that “Bachelorette” producers wanted Paul badly for the show because they felt that due to the massive success of “Mormon Wives” and her immense social media following she could increase the show’s lagging ratings.

However, since they wanted her at all cost, the source said they admittedly “cut corners” during the vetting process.

ABC has since hired a public relations crisis manager amid the news of Paul’s alleged domestic violence incident involving ex-boyfriend Dakota Mortensen.

‘Bachelorette’ Cast Members Describe Taylor Frankie Paul As ‘Softer’ And ‘Pleasant To Be Around’ During Filming

Several members of the season 22 cast of “The Bachelorette” recently spoke with TMZ and sang Paul’s praises, notably pointing out how different she was on the show in stark contrast to what “Mormon Wives” fans see and the current domestic violence allegations against her.

The contestants told the outlet that while filming Paul was “kind, genuine, and well-intentioned,” and displayed “a softer, more authentic side.” They also added that overall she was “consistently pleasant to be around.”

Regarding the recent domestic violence allegations, they said that while the claims are “troubling,” they believe there are many misconceptions about Paul and want the public to refrain from rushing to judge, and that the full truth of what happened during the incident will be revealed in time.

Domestic Violence Discovered To Be Root Of Production Shutdown Of ‘Mormon Wives’

Shortly after reports surfaced that “Mormon Wives” season 5 had shut down production, new details emerged revealing it was due to a domestic violence incident between Paul and ex-boyfriend Dakota Mortensen, who is also the father of her son, Ever.

According to PEOPLE, the Draper City Police Department confirmed to the outlet that an open “domestic assault investigation” exists between Paul and Mortensen. Per the police department’s spokesperson, “allegations have been made in both directions” and “contact was made with involved parties on [Feb] 24th and 25th.”

An inside source connected to “Mormon Wives” confirmed the production pause. “They are not filming,” the source said. “Taylor [Frankie Paul] has some pretty serious stuff happening regarding her past, and they will see what happens. Until that resolves, they are off.”

Things are reportedly so serious that Paul’s fellow #MomTok members have all distanced themselves from her. “None of the women want to be associated with her,” the source told the outlet.

The Allegations Have Resulted In Paul And Mortensen Being Ordered For Psych Evaluations

Per TMZ, Mortensen has made calls to the Utah Division of Child and Family Services multiple times alleging Paul has been physically abusive to their son, which Paul firmly denies.

According to the outlet, in late February, the former couple got into a verbal altercation while inside Mortensen’s car after Paul reportedly spilled a drink. Inside sources shared that Mortensen became “enraged” and “got physical” with Paul, however, he called the police and told them that she was the one who assaulted him.

Following the incident, a source close to Paul told TMZ that Mortensen disappeared for weeks and ditched filming, which led to production being put on pause. However, sources with “Mormon Wives” said that filming stopped because cast members refused to film amid the domestic violence and child abuse allegations, despite production wanting to continue filming season 5.

Additionally, due to Mortensen repeatedly calling DCFS on Paul, alleging abuse, both are now required to undergo psychological evaluations.

When production on “Mormon Wives” resumes, it has not been decided what capacity, if any, Mortensen will be part of the show.

Jonah Hill Revisits Kanye West’s ‘Bizarre’ Past With Love

Published

Amid Kanye West’s music return following his antisemitic controversy, actor Jonah Hill is looking back at one rapper’s antics.

For years, the “Stronger” artist was spewing offensive and derogatory remarks towards the Jewish community. In 2023, West renounced his vitriol against Jews, citing Hill’s movie as the inspiration behind his change of heart.

Now, the “War Dogs” star is addressing the viral moment and where he stands with West.

Jonah Hill Hopes Kanye West Can ‘Heal’ Despite ‘Bizarre’ Past

During a recent interview, Hill revisited West’s remarks, explaining that he has no beef with the disgraced artist.

“I felt that he did this bizarre public thing to kind of make up, like, ‘It’s all good cause I love Jonah,’” the actor said on “The Zane Lowe Show.”

Hill noted that the moment sat with him in a good way, and as a result, he still has love for West. The filmmaker expressed hope that the rapper would “heal” as well as those he might have offended with his divisive words.

Hill still has great respect for West’s artistry, calling him “the greatest artist ever to live.” However, he understands how his antisemitic remarks couldn’t be easily overlooked. In his words:

“He’s a genius, and the stuff with the hate stuff sucks. What are you going to say? It sucks, no matter who you are, to hear that.”

Nevertheless, the “Superbad” actor vowed not to kick the “Runway” rapper while he is down.

What Kanye West Said About Jonah Hill’s Film

The actor’s interview comes three years after West sparked a storm after crediting Hill for making him fond of Jewish people again.

In an Instagram post, the rapper shared a poster of the 2012 comedy movie, “21 Jump Street,” featuring Hill and his co-star Channing Tatum.

“Watching Jonah Hill in 21 Jump Street made me like Jewish people again. No one should take anger against one or two individuals and transform that into hatred towards millions of innocent people,” West wrote at the time, per The Blast.

Months before the confession, the Yeezy founder went on a wild anti-Semitic tirade on social media, saying he was “going death con 3 on Jewish people.” He also declared that he wasn’t an antisemite “because Black people are actually Jews.”

The Rapper Issued A Formal Apology For Offensive Remarks

Despite saying he loved the Jewish community, the “Donda” artist continued with his derogatory comments. However, West took it all back, offering a formal apology in January 2026.

Taking out an entire page in the Wall Street Journal, the father of four sought forgiveness for his words, blaming his bipolar diagnosis for his problematic antics.

“I lost touch with reality. Things got worse the longer I ignored the problem. I said and did things I deeply regret. Some of the people I love the most, I treated the worst,” he wrote, as reported by The Blast.

West sought forgiveness for moving towards “the most destructive symbol,” the swastika, during his manic episodes, which lasted as long as four months.

Taking accountability for his actions, the 48-year-old declared he was “deeply mortified” and promised to pursue “accountability, treatment, and meaningful change.”

Months after his formal apology, Kanye West made a powerful return to the stage last week at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles.

According to The Blast, the rapper performed in front of a near-capacity crowd, who cheered for his comeback, not minding his controversial past.

Many expressed a willingness to separate the artist from the art, citing West’s battle with bipolar disorder as a reason why they might be so forgiving.

West gave his fans a swell time at his concert, turning the stage into a rotating Earth design, which he stood on top of. He also invited his daughter, North West, and Don Toliver as special guests who blew the audience away.

Jonah Hill And Channing Tatum Might Reunite For ‘23 Jump Street’

While the 2012 comedy movie might have helped with West’s antisemitism, it has been so much more for fans worldwide, who have demanded a third sequel from the franchise.

Luckily, in 2014, Sony Pictures announced the development of a third movie, hiring Rodney Rothman, who worked on “22 Jump Street”, to write the script. Unfortunately, it seems the project has been on hiatus ever since.

According to actor Channing Tatum, a script has already been written, but the movie can’t be made yet due to “a lot of bureaucracy, kind of above-the-line stuff.”

Nevertheless, Tatum is still holding out hope for the possibility of a “23 Jump Street” with his co-star.

“I would love to do it with Jonah, and Jonah, I know, wants to do it. We would love to just get to go play again,” he added, per The Blast.

Days of our Lives: Xander Uses Blood Money to Save Titan – Dangerous Deal Shocks Everyone!

Published

on

Days of Our Lives: Xander Kiriakis Cook (Paul Telfer)

Days of Our Lives sees Xander Kiriakis Cook (Paul Telfer) is busy scheming to save Titan and the Kiriakis mansion, and it looks like he is going to go to the dark side and do some dirty business to get the funds to save Victor Kiriakis‘s (John Aniston) legacy.

And it looks like Xander is up to his old tricks again, the ones from way back in the day. Even though he’s doing it for the right reasons, Victor’s son may use blood money to bail them all out. We have a lot to cover, so let’s dive in.

Xander’s Blood Diamond Past on Days of Our Lives

Before arriving in Salem, it was back, I think, in 2015, Xander Cook, as he was known then, ran an international blood diamond smuggling ring out of Africa. And he was this high-level smuggler, and he was also a hired gun.

Then Xander involved his former lover and partner in crime, Serena Mason, and got her involved in the clandestine and highly illegal smuggling operation. And she, if you remember, hid a bunch of valuable diamonds inside this elephant statue that she then gave to Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan).

Later Serena moved from Africa to Salem and she was trying to retrieve the statue and the diamonds and Xander basically bullied Serena into handing them over. Not only that. But back then Xander also ran a pharmaceutical company and he used it as a front to launder the blood diamond money.

And we found out later that good old Victor used Xander’s muscle for all kinds of shady Kiriakis business. Victor was the brains behind it and he had Xander doing all the dirty and deadly work. And that was a long time before he knew that Victor was his dad and that he was actually Xander Kiriakis, which was his dream come true.

Eric Clueless on DOOL

Meanwhile, poor Eric had no idea until much later that the gifted elephant statue was used to smuggle blood diamonds. So, that whole ordeal, if you were watching back then, culminated in violence, threats, and the eventual murder of Serena by necktie killer Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson). And this kicked off Xander’s tenure as one of Salem’s most dangerous criminals.

Then in 2018, Xander revisited the diamond dealings when he sold blood diamonds to a Mexican drug lord while he was trying to rescue Theresa Donovan (Emily O’Brien). And again, that reinforced Xander’s dark criminal side, even though he was trying to legit be a decent part of Titan Industries.

Xander Became CEO Of Titan on Days

So, fast forward to last year, Xander inherited the CEO role at Titan after learning that Victor was really his biological dad, not his evil uncle. Wait, was it a year and a half ago? It’s been a while.

So now, after a series of unfortunate events set in motion by Philip Kiriakis (John-Paul Lavoisier) and Vivian Alamain (Louise Sorel) and exposed by Gabi Hernandez (Cherie Jimenez), we have the Kiriakis family on the brink of losing everything. And none of that was really Xander’s fault.

Now Philip is worried they cannot pay off the loan installment. If they don’t make the payment, they’re going to lose the Kiriakis estate. Because it is collateral for the loan that they desperately needed to keep Titan afloat after the DiMera disaster and they had to pull the companies back apart on Days of our Lives.

The Copyright Scheme Failed on Days of Our Lives

So, last week, Xander was frantic, as was Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow), when they learned that Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) wasn’t gonna pay for the copyright fiasco. If you remember, Kate and Xander did this whole clever scheme.

They tricked Johnny into publishing Bonnie Kiriakis‘s (Judi Evans) questionable dirty book. And they were hoping for a quick settlement from DiMera, and they could use that to pay the loan to save Titan. But then things didn’t go according to plan. So, Johnny and EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) decided to fight them in court.

Good thing that Johnny’s got a good lawyer. Because he said they’re being sued for plagiarism. That’s not the basis for a lawsuit. Copyright infringement is, plagiarism is unethical. But it’s not actually breaking any civil or criminal laws. But anyway, so right now everybody, including Maggie Kiriakis (Suzanne Rogers), are all worried that they’re about to lose their home and lose Titan.

Xander’s Mysterious $5 Million on DOOL

So, Xander is getting his hands dirty to save all of them, save everything, even the people who don’t like or respect him. So, the other day, if you remember, he had this mysterious phone call and it was about moving $5 million.

And Xander had ordered somebody, my guess is Rita, to move money from some dodgy side of Titan’s books that nobody else knows about, and that way he can use it to pay the loan, keep everything running smoothly, keep the family afloat.

So, he is Victor’s son, and he knows all about his dad’s dirty dealings, plus his own dirty dealings, and a lot of times they overlapped. So, I think Xander might have access to a long buried stash of blood diamonds maybe.

Or he might have had an illicit stash of cash from past sales from his Africa days. And that could be money that he didn’t bring to the US back when Victor was alive. Because it was too risky, and it may be risky now,

But Xander may save Titan and the estate. But then in the long run, he could risk exposing his family to either old enemies from the blood diamond trade or to international authorities if that’s how he gets the cash to bail them out of this mess that frankly Philip got them into.

What Will Sarah And Maggie Say?

So, we may find out that Xander scrambled to find a way back into his old criminal ways to save them, thinking that he’d get in, get the cash they needed, and get out. You know, Sarah Horton‘s (Linsey Godfrey) ex-husband may have a just one more time mentality, desperate to save the family legacy.

We know Xander wants to leave something substantial for his young daughter Victoria and of course for Sarah. But Xander understands that he needs to be sneaky or Sarah may never let him see their child again and he just finally got a little bit of custody back.

Days of Our Lives: Xander Kiriakis Cook (Paul Telfer)Days of Our Lives: Xander Kiriakis Cook (Paul Telfer)
Days of Our Lives: Xander Kiriakis

Maggie Might be Opposed on Days of our Lives

So, the question is, what will Philip and Maggie say if Xander goes this route and does something illegal to save them? I think Philip would probably be okay with it. He’s no stranger to operating in morally gray areas. Maggie, on the other hand, she would not want either of Victor’s sons getting into criminality again.

But if Xander is not using blood money, it might be laundered money. That $5 million that he talked about could tie back to that pharmaceutical company that he was using to launder his dirty diamond money. But using criminal money to pay a legit debt to a bank could trigger an audit or some sort of legal scrutiny.

Xander Punished for His Methods on DOOL?

Now, one last option is that Victor might have had secret assets that were from less than legal activities and only Xander knows about them because he and Victor were in that together. So, the problem is that Xander may save the family legacy. But Sarah and Maggie may judge and punish him for it.

Now, I’m sure Xander is fully aware that everything that Victor worked so hard for could come crashing down and it could be down to this loan payment. They could lose everything. And I just don’t think Xander is going to let it happen. I think he feels like he would be unworthy as Victor’s son if it all fell apart on his watch.

So, we’re going to find out soon exactly what Xander is cooking up to save Titan and the mansion from the mess that Philip cooked up. But there’s also a chance that Gabi might pitch in and try to help out. But if she does, Xander might wonder why.

Young and the Restless: Cane Launches Brutal Revenge on Phyllis & Victor in Shocking Twist!

Published

on

Young and the Restless: Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) - Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) - Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford)

Young and the Restless puts Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) flat broke because of Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford). And with Cane mad at the world, he’s ready to forget being a good guy and rebuild his empire by stealing again.

And he wants revenge on those who wrecked his billion dollar fortune. We’re going to talk about Cane’s plan to get wicked revenge on both Victor and Phyllis.

Cane Discovers He’s Broke on Young and the Restless

So, this week, Cane is stunned to find out he’s basically flat broke. His accountant says Arabesque’s assets are gone and the guy doesn’t know where the money went. And then Cane fires his accountant when he doesn’t want to play dirty with him. But there are some assets that nobody’s mentioned.

Remember Cane bought the GCAC and a bunch of other real estate in Genoa City and they never mentioned that in the AI theft. Plus, he still got all his Cane trains and that French chateau. Maybe the Y&R writers forgot about it or maybe that’s supposed to be part of the Arabesque assets. So, I guess we’ll see if Cane gets to live on his train or if they’re going to come haul it off.

But we know that Victor is on Cane’s hit list because of all he took from him, plus the kidnapping conspiracy with Lily Winters (Christel Khalil). And Phyllis is the one who architected Cane’s downfall when she stole the AI and gave it to Victor. So, Cane’s now decided he’s going to take other people’s stuff and make it his own. But he is going to need a new accountant.

Y&R Spoilers: Phyllis Tempts Cane

After he argued with Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) and Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) this week and made clear he wants nothing to do with Lily, we’re going to see Phyllis rolling up to ask Cane if he is actually done with Lily. Well, Cane is totally off of Lily and Phyllis snarks that it took him long enough.

She follows Cane to the bar and Phyllis is telling him it was hard to see him degrade himself over Lily. And then Phyllis brags about how great Summers Conglomerate is doing. And Cane doesn’t want to talk to Phyllis and she wonders if he’s still hanging around Genoa City because he wants revenge.

Yes, we know Cane definitely wants revenge on Victor. But I’m thinking that he’s also going to toy with Phyllis and get revenge on her as well. I mean, she’s the one with the biggest Newman asset. So, I think Cane punishing Phyllis and Victor and taking everything from them will accomplish his goals and it could be wicked fun to watch.

Cane Could Take Newman Enterprises From Phyllis

So, we could see Cane finding a way to take what Phyllis took from Victor, the entire Newman Enterprises empire that she stole and that she is now running and crowing about. That would definitely punish Phyllis. That would drive her absolutely insane. Let’s stick with her for a minute and then we’ll switch over and talk about Victor.

So, bottom line is Phyllis needs punished for first of all stealing the AI and giving it to Victor which he used to crush Arabesque even though Phyllis’ attitude is well you know Victor wasn’t going to use it that way. I didn’t think he was. That’s no excuse.

Phyllis Has Some Payback Coming to Her on Young and the Restless

Plus, when they stole the stuff back, Phyllis chloroformed Cane long enough for her to take away all of the Newman assets. So, Cane didn’t have them. Victor didn’t have them. She had them. Plus, it’s Phyllis’s fault, as I said, that Victor destroyed Arabesque. And then more stuff is going.

So, that could be more things that Cane is losing to Victor. Plus, Lily had been softening on him, but then she turned on Cane when she found out he was shagging Phyllis. And it wasn’t that long ago Cane wanted to destroy Phyllis. And I think he still wants it.

So, now that she sees that Cane is really done with Lily, I think Phyllis may try to reel him back in. And official Young and the Restless spoilers say that Phyllis tempts Cane this week. So, Phyllis may be tempting him back into her bed, but I suspect that she tempts him with the offer also to help get revenge on Victor.

And, you know, Cane might agree so that he can get close enough to do bad things to both of them. And Phyllis may not get what she wants at all, which is Cane in her bed. He might just lead Phyllis on and get her all hot and bothered while he’s doing her dirty behind her back.

Does Cane Have A Backup Of The AI?

I also suspect Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) might have a backup of the AI. So Cane could be keeping that in his back pocket. And it looks like Victor and Phyllis both think it’s really gone. Even if Amanda did delete it like he said, Cane hired somebody to create it in the first place. And I bet that person has a backup or can recreate it.

Back when he was Dumas, Cane was always two steps ahead. He always had a contingency plan. He had a backup plan for his backup plan. So, I find it hard to believe that he just let go of something that valuable. I feel like maybe he’s got some sort of nuclear option in his back pocket that he was hoping to not have to use.

I’m also hoping to see Amanda involved, but I’m not sure she would want to be part of Cane destroying Phyllis. Then again, those are stolen assets, so maybe Amanda wouldn’t care. She is Cane’s lawyer slash confidant slash best friend. And now would be a perfect time for Amanda to return.

So, I do think Cane might leave Newman Media with Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) and Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) because that’s his sort of brother and Cane doesn’t want to hurt him. So, all Phyllis has is the flagship main company Newman Enterprises that she renamed Summers Conglomerate. Terrible name.

So, I think we could see Cane blindside Phyllis and he takes that from her and Cane could reveal that he was stringing her along and was never going to get in bed with her. He might tell Phyllis she’s toxic. No one will ever love her. Not him, not her kids, nobody. That would crush Phyllis.

Young and the Restless: Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) - Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) - Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) Young and the Restless: Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) - Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) - Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford)
Young and the Restless: Cane Ashby – Victor Newman – Phyllis Summers

Young and the Restless Shocker: Cane’s Wicked Revenge on Victor

So, now let’s talk about revenge on Victor. The problem is if Cane keeps Newman Enterprises for himself, Victor will keep coming after Cane. So, I could see him doing something really wild, really clever. First, he might snatch Chancellor back from Victor and keep that for himself because that wasn’t part of the Newman umbrella for a long time.

And then Cane and Billy could run it together, which would make Jill Abbott (Jess Walton) happy and it would make Billy happy. And since Victor wasn’t going to let Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) have it back after she showed compassion for Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman), I think that would be karmic.

Victor Put in His Place on Young and the Restless?

So, here’s the thing. I think Cane could totally declaw Victor if he makes a slick move with Newman. Imagine if Cane turns around and gives it to Nikki, but with the caveat that Victor can’t work there. He can’t own voting shares. He can’t even walk through the doors.

And Cane could structure a deal where Nikki could, you know, bequeath it down to her kids or her grandkids, but never to Victor. He could never be part of Newman Enterprises ever again.

Everything the man does, he says it’s to protect the family. But if Nikki gets the company back and all the kids can work there and the grandkids, everybody but Victor, then he’s got no motive that he can use to excuse any further bad behavior.

He said he wanted the family legacy back in Newman hands, and Cane could make it happen. It would just be in the hands of Nikki Newman, not Victor Newman. And the kids might all line up and say, “No, the war stops here. We’ve got the company back. Dad, you can go retire.”

I think Victor’s head would explode. But if his family all stands up against him because they got Newman back, he might just have to eat crow and go play golf. I think that seems a fitting and kind of a wicked revenge on both Victor and Phyllis. But we’ll see how it goes.

Katseye’s Manon Discussed ‘Setting Boundaries’ Before Hiatus

Published

on

Katseye’s Manon Bannerman spoke candidly about how she and her bandmates deal with conflict shortly before she announced her hiatus from the group.

“Being in a group, it’s just about good communication and setting good boundaries and building a friendship, but also work relationship, and always remembering that it’s a shared goal that we have,” Manon, 23, said in a Nylon cover story published on Tuesday, April 7.

The singer pointed to photo shoots as an example of where discord might arise, referring to a potential situation where two members might want to wear the same thing.

“There’s six of us, so obviously not everyone’s always going to be on the same page about everything,” she explained. “But I think we all are at, or have been learning and are finally coming to, a point where for the group’s sake, you give and you take. You pick your battles.”

Manon went on to note that she and her bandmates “have to lean on each other” to cope with their fame. “But we also have supportive friends and supportive family,” she added. “It’s something that keeps you humble and grounded. And then just having a good therapist.”

Nylon noted that the interview was conducted before Manon announced her break from the girl group, and the band declined to answer additional questions about the situation. In the interview, Sophia Laforteza addressed the band’s decision-making process, explaining that a majority-rules approach doesn’t always work.

“We’ve learned that if even just one person doesn’t feel good about a certain thing, we need to heavily consider and communicate about it — because it’s not about the majority enjoying it and just having the people who don’t enjoy it adjust,” Sophia, also 23, explained. “If we don’t feel comfortable, we don’t feel passionate. We don’t feel good about something. We need to help that person see another perspective or adjust everything overall because it really is hard to perform a song if you don’t enjoy it.”

She added, “We’re only as strong as our weakest member. We need to make sure that we’re all showing up for each other and all going at the same pace. We cannot leave anybody behind.”

Katseye announced on February 20 that Manon would be taking a break from the group, which also includes Sophia, Daniela Avanzini, Lara Raj, Megan Skiendiel and Yoonchae Jeung.

“After open and thoughtful conversations together, we are sharing that Manon will be taking a temporary hiatus from group activities to focus on her health and well-being,” read a statement from the group shared via social media platform Weverse. “We fully support this decision. Katseye remains committed to showing up for one another and for the fans who mean everything to us. The group will continue scheduled activities during this time, and we look forward to being together again when the time is right.”

The statement concluded by thanking Katseye’s fans, known as Eyekons, for their “continued love, patience and understanding.”

Manon also shared her own statement via Weverse at the time, noting that she is “healthy” “taking care” of herself.

“Sometimes things unfold in ways we don’t fully control, but I’m trusting the bigger picture,” she added. “Thank you for standing by me. I love you endlessly and can’t wait to see you again.”

According to a news release from the State Attorney of Florida’s Seventh Judicial Circuit, published on Monday, April 6, Demegillo is accused of “giving birth to a baby and leaving her in the toilet to die.” Furthermore, the release notes that the incident allegedly occurred in the woman’s home on March 5, 2026. Per Fox 35 Orlando, Demegillo reportedly claimed that she was not aware she was pregnant.

While her newborn daughter drowned in the toilet, Demegilla allegedly cleaned up the blood from her giving birth, the outlet adds. Subsequently, she allegedly placed the newborn’s body in a duffel bag. Then, she placed the bag in a closet. And later returned to bury her baby’s body in a shallow grave.

Per ClickOrlando, detectives subsequently discovered searches on the woman’s phone for “newborn premature babies.” This, in addition to “foods to decrease fertility,” and “images of Casey Anthony and new babies.”

Florida Woman Anne Demegillo Is Indicted

During a March 12 court appearance, the woman’s attorney, Michael Politis, reportedly argued that she doesn’t have any prior convictions or a mental health history. Additionally, he reportedly argued that his client is not a threat to society.

“I don’t know how long she will survive… It’s not necessary to incarcerate her,” he reportedly argued in court.

On that date, Anne Demegillo was reportedly released from jail. However, on Monday, April 6, she was indicted by a Florida grand jury. This, on charges of “first-degree premeditated murder, aggravated child abuse, and failure to report the death of a person with intent to conceal the death or alter the evidence or circumstances surrounding such death.”

Per ClickOrlando, her arraignment will take place on April 21.

“This is one of those tragic cases that shock you to your core that a mother would allow a newborn to die because the newborn was a distraction to her life. It’s hard to comprehend how a mother would choose to watch their infant drown instead of lifting the baby out of the toilet,” Sheriff Rick Staly reportedly told the press.

Elsewhere In Florida, Two Rappers Are Making Headlines

Outside of the Anne Demegillo case, elsewhere in Florida, two rappers are making headlines. As The Shade Room previously reported, on Monday, April 6, Offset was reportedly shot in the leg while in the Valet area of the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida. Since then, photos have surfaced showing the rapper having a smoke break while recovering at a hospital.

This, as rapper Lil Tjay has made headlines for also getting arrested at the casino around the time of the shooting.

This Forgotten Western Remains the Best TV Series of All Time 71 Years Later

Published

on

Marshal Matt Dillon (James Arness) pulls a gun in the 'Gunsmoke' intro

When considering the vast catalog of Western television programs, there is only one series that reigns not only as the leading champion of the televised genre, but sits on the throne as the “gold standard” that so many others aimed to emulate. If you’ve guessed Gunsmoke, then you’d be right on the money. The famed CBS Western ran for an impressive 20 years between 1955 and 1975 (a feat quite unheard of at the time), and remained popular throughout the bulk of its run. Thus, it’s no wonder that even over 70 years since James Arness first graced the screen as Marshal Matt Dillon that this program continues to find an audience on streaming.

‘Gunsmoke’ Surpasses All Other Television Westerns — In Both Content and Episode Count

Like many television programs of its day, Gunsmoke began as a radio show. Created by Norman Macdonnell and John Meston, the adventures of Marshal Dillon became so popular that CBS aimed to push that reach even further. Charles Marquis Warren developed the series for television, and although John Wayne was initially sought for the leading role, the part ultimately went to James Arness. (However, as a favor, Wayne introduced the very first episode, making Gunsmoke among the few TV Westerns endorsed by the Duke.) Part of what set Gunsmoke apart from other TV Westerns at the time was that it was specifically aimed toward adult audiences. The network wasn’t interested in another “kiddie” series like The Lone Ranger or Hopalong Cassidy; they wanted a mature program that could stand on its own. No doubt, that’s exactly what it did.

Although The Life and Legend of Wyatt Earp beat Gunsmoke to the punch by a few days, it was Gunsmoke that came out on top as the best and brightest that this new TV fascination with the Old West had to offer. At first, the series followed the radio format quite faithfully, even adapting famous episodes like “The Cabin” effortlessly to the screen. These tight scripts produced excellent material for Arness and his co-stars to work with, but over time, the show found a voice of its own. Even after the radio series ended in 1961, the CBS drama continued. In fact, that same year, Gunsmoke shed its initial half-hour format in favor of an hour-long broadcast with an emphasis on original episodes that pushed Marshal Dillon and his allies — Amanda Blake‘s Miss Kitty, Milburn Stone‘s Doc Adams, and Dennis Weaver‘s Chester Goode — to their limits. It was in this era that the black-and-white hour-long program produced some of its very best episodes, including the hauntingly powerful “The Gallows,” an intimate look at what happens when an innocent man is condemned to die, and the riveting “Seven Hours to Dawn,” which emphasized the show’s supporting cast against a common threat.

Tulsa King

⚖️
Mayor of Kingstown

You are a Dutton — or you might as well be. You understand that some things are worth protecting at any cost, and that the modern world’s indifference to history, to land, to legacy, is not something you’re willing to accept quietly. You lead from the front, you carry your family’s weight without complaint, and when someone threatens what’s yours, you don’t escalate — you finish it. You’re not cruel. But you are absolute. In Yellowstone’s world, that combination of ferocity and loyalty doesn’t make you a villain. It makes you the only thing standing between everything that matters and everyone who wants to take it.

You thrive in the chaos of high-stakes negotiation, where the money is enormous, the margins are thin, and the wrong word in the wrong room can cost everyone everything. You’re a fixer — the person called when a situation is already on fire and needs someone with the nerve to walk into it. West Texas oil country rewards exactly what you are: sharp, adaptable, unsentimental, and absolutely clear-eyed about what people want and what they’ll do to get it. You’re not naive enough to think this world is fair. You’re smart enough to be the one deciding who it’s fair to.

You are a Dwight Manfredi — someone who has served their time, paid their dues, and arrived somewhere unexpected with nothing but their reputation and their wits. You adapt without losing yourself. You build loyalty through respect rather than fear, though you’re not above reminding people that the two aren’t mutually exclusive. Tulsa King is for people who are still standing when everyone assumed they’d be finished — who find, in an unfamiliar place, that they’re more capable than the world gave them credit for. You don’t need a throne. You build one, wherever you happen to land.

You carry the weight of a system that is broken by design, and you do it anyway — because someone has to, and because you’re the only one positioned to do it without the whole thing collapsing. Mike McLusky’s world is for people who are comfortable operating where there are no good options, only less catastrophic ones. You speak every language: law enforcement, criminal, political, human. That fluency makes you invaluable and it makes you a target. You’ve made your peace with both. Mayor of Kingstown belongs to people who understand that keeping the peace is not the same as being at peace — and who do the job regardless.

Gunsmoke continued to produce hour-long Western plays for the remainder of its run. By its twelfth season, CBS began filming each episode in color, and only a few seasons later, Gunsmoke drifted away from following its heroes every week in favor of a Western anthology format. Much of the show’s continued popularity has been attributed to the fact that Gunsmoke was able to adjust to the times. Be it the advent of color television or the growing popularity of hour-long television programs (a trend that started with Cheyenne the same year Gunsmoke premiered in 1955). Marshal Dillon and his cohorts often found themselves performing in the sorts of adventures that were of interest to contemporary audiences — some of which even spawned short-lived spin-offs. It’s no wonder that Gunsmoke ranked #1 in the ratings for four years in a row at its peak, and boasted a spot in the Top 10 for 13 seasons. With 635 episodes to choose from, it’s a show that rides laps around most others — even Louis L’Amour was a fan.

The 20-Season Western Set the Standard for All Other Genre Series’ Going Forward

Of course, the main draw for Gunsmoke was always its main cast. Arness’ Matt Dillon is not only one of the greatest Western TV heroes out there, but he was the sort of stand-up type of lawman that you’d always want in your corner. Whether he was joined by sidekicks like Burt Reynolds‘ Quint Asper, Roger Ewing‘s Thad Greenwood, Buck Taylor‘s Newly O’Brien, or Ken Curtis‘ long-running Festus Haggen (or if he were simply on his own), there was a comfort in the sense that Dillon would always get his man. Indeed, no matter how often villains got the upper hand or how outmatched he was, Matt wouldn’t go down without a fight — and he certainly wouldn’t let the good people of Dodge City down. It was that consistency, that charm, that kept audiences faithful to Gunsmoke for 20 years, and it’s that same old-fashioned style that has prompted many to revisit the program on streaming years later.

Gunsmoke may be a product of its time in that it’s a Western that leans into the mythic notions that the genre has spread about the Old American West, but it remains relevant and entertaining today. Unlike many of the modern takes on the West we see now, it’s a series that the entire family can enjoy, despite its often mature themes or ideas. It was Gunsmoke‘s success that helped propel the genre as a TV staple in the 1950s and ’60s, and that success continues to influence the genre.

Mormon Wives’ Chase Claims Season 5 Is Still ‘Up in the Air’

Published

on

Filming for season 5 of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives hasn’t resumed after multiple scandals, according to Miranda McWhorter’s ex-husband, Chase McWhorter.

During an interview on the Tuesday, April 7, episode of Harry Jowsey’s “Boyfriend Material” podcast, Chase, 30, said that cameras haven’t picked back up since production on the Hulu series was paused last month — and he doesn’t know if or when they will.

“I think that’s kind of up in the air at this point,” he claimed. “Hoping they do. All the other women have a bunch of great stories and story lines that haven’t been told. I think that’s a great thing they could look into. So I think they should, but we’ll see.”

Reports circulated last month that production on season 5 of Mormon Wives had paused after Taylor Frankie Paul and ex Dakota Mortensen were allegedly involved in a domestic dispute in February. Taylor’s costar Mikayla Matthews later said that she and the other members of MomTok decided together that they didn’t want to film in the immediate aftermath of the incident.

“It was a decision that all of us girls came up with and agreed on,” Mikayla, 26, explained in a March Instagram Story Q&A. “We didn’t feel comfortable filming with everything that was happening.”

The Draper City Police Department in Utah confirmed to Us Weekly on March 16 that a “domestic assault investigation” was ongoing regarding a February incident involving Taylor, 31, and Dakota, 33. The department said that “allegations have been made in both directions.”

Taylor and Dakota’s off-and-on relationship has been a focal point on Mormon Wives, which premiered in September 2024 and launched its fourth season in March.

Shortly after news broke that production on season 5 had paused, leaked footage showed Taylor arguing with Dakota during the 2023 incident that led to her arrest (and was discussed on season 1 of Mormon Wives). The video showed her throwing multiple metal stools at Dakota while her daughter, Indy, now 8, was in the room. Taylor shares Indy and son Ocean, 5, with ex-husband Tate Paul, while she and Dakota share son Ever, 2.

The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives’ Mikayla Matthews is sharing her reaction to MomTok’s drama-filled week. The stars of the hit Hulu reality show have scarcely been out of the headlines in the past week. To recap: First, there was the alleged domestic violence incident involving Taylor Frankie Paul and Dakota Mortensen that put a […]

Taylor was taken into police custody in February 2023 and charged with aggravated assault, two counts of domestic violence in the presence of a child, child abuse and criminal mischief. Us confirmed in August of that year that Taylor pleaded guilty to felony aggravated assault as part of a plea deal to drop the other charges. If she abided to the terms of her deal for three years, the charge would be downgraded to a misdemeanor.

After new footage of the incident appeared online last month, ABC canceled Taylor’s season 22 of The Bachelorette just days before its scheduled premiere.

Meanwhile, Taylor’s costar Jessi Draper was experiencing her own personal issues as husband Jordan Ngatikaura filed for divorce on March 19 after the duo had previously separated.

TMZ and People reported on Monday, March 16, that producers behind the hit Hulu reality show stopped filming earlier this month following an alleged […]

“I did end it with him, so I knew it was coming, but we had made an agreement to do it together, and he blindsided me and filed because he wanted the headline first,” Jessi, 33, claimed during a March interview on Alex Cooper’s “Call Her Daddy” podcast. “We agreed to tell our children together before filing, and we haven’t done that.”

A source later exclusively told Us that Jessi had recently cozied up to Chase at a party.

“They were having fun at a party, and it’s not serious between them,” the insider said in March.

Drew Barrymore got candid about her body insecurities during an emotional moment on “The Drew Barrymore Show” this week. The 51-year-old host became visibly tearful during a fashion makeover segment when guest Dawn Benwood opened up about her own struggles with wearing “form-fitting clothing.” Drew Barrymore, who shares daughters Olive, 13, and Frankie, 11, with ex-husband Will Kopelman, said the story hit especially close to home.

As she connected with Benwood, Barrymore didn’t hold back when sharing her own experience. “I so related. I really did,” she said through tears. “The other day, I was walking down the street, and I’ve had two C-sections, and I’m so wrecked down there that I permanently just…I can’t wear a lot of different types of pants.”

She continued, “The other day I was walking around, and I had this shorter shirt on, and I couldn’t keep my jacket closed. And I’m walking around, and I was [thinking], I don’t want anyone to see this.”

The former child star added that she deeply understands the changes that come with motherhood and aging. “When you have kids, and you have a busy life, and your body changes and you get older, and things just aren’t the same,” she explained.

Barrymore continued to reflect on how the moment resonated with her own recent experiences. “Just hearing your story, I just thought of how I felt two days ago walking down the street on a Sunday with my daughter,” the host said. “I totally get it.”

Despite her vulnerability, she made sure to lift up her guest. “And I’ve gotta tell you, I’m looking at you and all I see is just your beautiful hard work that I only know because you told us, I wouldn’t know otherwise, and you look so stunning,” the actress continued.

The conversation also turned to how Barrymore’s daughters help her step outside of her comfort zone when it comes to fashion. “Listen, you know what my daughter does? She encourages me to dress differently. And a lot of the times I feel really good,” she shared.

Still, she admitted there are certain items she’s sworn off for good. “I’ll never wear those pair of jeans again,” Barrymore said. “We all can find something that fits us right.”

Months before her recent candid on-air confession, Drew Barrymore was already keeping it real with fans about aging and self-acceptance. The daytime host shared a makeup-free video on social media, proudly showing off her natural skin, including fine lines and smile lines, without filters or touch-ups.

“Aging is a privilege. It is not something to fear,” she said alongside the clip.

In a statement, Barrymore opened up about what the show means to her and its audience. “What matters most to us is our viewers and the people that come here!” she began. “This show began as a space for intimate conversation, and we’re continuing to plant our flag as a truly multiplatform experience.”

“We live in a world where people discover content in so many different ways, and from the very start in 2020, our mission was to break the mold rather than conform to the traditional daytime landscape,” she continued. “I hold myself accountable to staying savvy about how and where this show is seen, feeding every corner that counts, while daring to just be myself and figure out life with others.”

“My curiosity about people is what fuels me. I’m so excited to continue as I see this endeavor as an opportunity and a gift,” Barrymore went on to say. “Our show family is deeply grateful for the support of CBS and George Cheeks, who all helped us get here.”
