Tennis star Novak Djokovic is opening up about his years-long private health battle after collapsing during the Cincinnati Open.

“Honestly, it hasn’t been a pleasant match for me. That’s how I’ve felt,” Djokovic, 39, told reporters on Saturday, August 15, after his defeat at the 2026 Cincinnati Open, per Forbes.  It hasn’t been the first time, and it won’t be the last. That’s just how it is. The conditions aren’t the problem. It’s because of a health issue I have.”

Without disclosing his diagnosis, Djokovic revealed that he has “been dealing with [the condition] for many years now.”

“It causes me a lot of problems, especially when there’s a lot of humidity and heat,” he said. “I did anticipate it [would be humid], but there are all these things, like nerves and everything involved that make it worse, and that’s what happened.”

In the middle of his R2 match on Saturday, Djokovic fell to his knees during the changeover. According to social media footage, the tennis champ also appeared to vomit on the court before requesting a medical timeout.

While speaking with reporters, the pro athlete wasn’t sure if he would return to the Cincinnati Open court in the future.

“Unfortunately, at this point, it seems more likely that I won’t be back next year,” he said. “But let’s see what the future holds, I hope I do.”

Djokovic’s Saturday loss comes months after he announced his exit from the Professional Tennis Players Association, which he cofounded in 2020. (The PTPA is dedicated to unite and mobilize tennis players to create transparency and equity through the sport, per a website description.)

“After careful consideration, I have decided to step away completely from the Professional Tennis Players Association,” he wrote in a social media statement shared in January. “This decision comes after ongoing concerns regarding transparency, governance, and the way my voice and image have been represented.”

He continued, “I am proud of the vision that Vasek [Pospisil] and I shared when founding the PTPA, giving players a stronger, independent voice – but it has become clear that my values and approach are no longer aligned with the current direction of the organization.”

Despite his PTPA exit, Djokovic wasn’t ready to hang up his racquet for good.

“I will continue to focus on my tennis, my family, and contributing to the sport in ways that reflect my principles and integrity,” he added in his statement. “I wish the players and those involved the best as they move forward, but for me, this chapter is now closed.”

There is no doubting just how famous Sydney Sweeney is now. Against a reported budget of $9 million, the movie was unable to even make $1 million in theaters, despite featuring Sweeney at the height of her fame. A year on, and Americana is bouncing back. At the time of writing, the film is one of the ten most-streamed movies on HBO Max in the world, a list topped by the 2026 fantasy sequel Mortal Kombat II.

A Hotly Anticipated Sydney Sweeney Sequel Is on the Way

It wasn’t all box office disappointment for Sweeney in 2025. Later in the year, she starred opposite Amanda Seyfried and Brandon Sklenar in an adaptation of Freida McFadden’s bestselling novel, The Housemaid. The film surprised many by scoring a $400 million haul worldwide against a production budget of just $35 million, with Lionsgate confirming that a sequel, The Housemaid’s Secret, is slated for a December 17, 2027, release. Recently, The Hunting Wives favorite Brittany Snow was added to the sequel’s cast.

There are plenty of memorable lines in television crime dramas, but very few tell you everything you need to know about a character in five words. For Bosch, that line is: “Everybody counts, or nobody counts.” It’s the principle that drives almost every investigation Harry Bosch takes on, the reason he refuses to abandon victims who have been forgotten, and perhaps the clearest explanation for why Titus Welliver’s performance became the backbone of the series.

Bosch premiered on Prime Video in 2014 and starred Welliver as a tough homicide detective, based on Michael Connelly‘s novels. This series ran for seven years before finishing in 2021. It then led to Bosch: Legacy, where Welliver portrayed a retired Bosch who became a private investigator. Bosch has gone through so many circumstances on both shows, including changes in employment and colleagues, and chaos at home, while carrying on with his life and still always clashing with the police. Still, he never changed his belief.

‘Everybody Counts, or Nobody Counts’ Is the Heart of Bosch

The line predates the television series as Connelly introduced it in the Bosch novels, where it became the detective’s personal credo. Bosch learned the philosophy from one of his early partners, Ray Vaughn, who impressed upon him that every investigation mattered. Bosch later gave the idea its most succinct form while speaking with police psychologist Carmen Hinojos — who, in the television adaptation, was portrayed as Dr. Renata Garcia, played by actress Gina Gallego — by saying: “Everybody counts, or nobody counts.”

The meaning is straightforward, but the show gives it considerable weight. Just because someone is rich, famous, or politically connected doesn’t mean Bosch thinks the case needs more attention. High-profile investigations may receive more resources, but that shouldn’t make a victim any more important than someone who is not known at all. This is an important fact about Bosch’s view of the murder investigation process. He is concerned about ensuring that the victim doesn’t become just another statistic.

In Bosch’s case, this is especially poignant, as his mother was murdered when he was still a small child, and being a prostitute, her murder was just another case and didn’t have the attention it deserved. He knows what it means when the system decides someone isn’t important enough to fight for, so he fights for everyone.

Titus Welliver Makes Bosch’s Moral Code Feel Personal

What makes the quote work so well on television is Welliver’s performance. Bosch isn’t written as a detective who delivers inspirational speeches about justice; he’s actually taciturn, frequently irritated, and more than willing to bend institutional expectations when he believes the department is getting in the way of the truth. Welliver understands that Bosch doesn’t need to explain himself very often. A look, a pause, or a decision to keep digging can communicate more than a monologue ever could, which is why “Everybody counts, or nobody counts” feels like something he has spent his entire life trying to prove.

The series repeatedly puts that philosophy under pressure. Bosch investigates cases involving children, murder victims whose identities are unknown, people living on the margins, and suspects who have been written off by others. He also finds himself dealing with cases that attract enormous political or media attention. The temptation in any police department is to prioritize the case with the loudest voice behind it, and Bosch’s worldview rejects that hierarchy. That stubbornness can make Bosch difficult to work with, but it’s also what makes him compelling. He becomes a maverick when the rules, bureaucracy, or politics threaten to get between him and the person who deserves justice.

Bosch’s Best Quote Says Everything About the Show

Police procedurals have spent decades building detectives around signature traits: brilliant minds, troubled pasts, unconventional methods, or an inability to follow orders. Bosch has all of those things, but its defining idea is much simpler. If only certain people count, then eventually the definition of who matters becomes arbitrary, and Bosch’s answer is to reject that calculation altogether. A murdered child matters, an unidentified woman matters, a sex worker matters, a homeless victim matters, and a person whose case never makes the news matters.

His philosophy also helps explain why Bosch stood apart from so many traditional procedurals. The series was never particularly inclined to make Harry Bosch the smartest person in Los Angeles or to turn every investigation into a flashy puzzle, as its strongest moments came from watching a detective refuse to let someone disappear into the city’s machinery.

Welliver played Bosch for more than a decade, from the original series to Bosch: Legacy, making the character one of the defining television detectives of his era. The show may have ended, and Bosch may have traded his badge for a private investigator’s license, but the central principle remains intact. After all these years, “Everybody counts, or nobody counts” still perfectly defines Harry Bosch because it’s the reason he keeps going.

Kim Scott Sent To Jail After Alleged Bond Violations

Scott appeared in court on Thursday after prosecutors accused her of repeatedly violating the conditions of her bond. According to CBS News Detroit, a judge revoked her bond and ordered her taken to Macomb County Jail. The judge left open the possibility that Scott could be released if she enters an inpatient treatment facility. One alleged violation involved an alcohol tether, an ankle device used to monitor alcohol consumption.

Scott’s attorney reportedly told the court that arrangements had been made for treatment and asked that she be permitted to enter voluntarily. Prosecutors countered that she had failed to enter a program during the previous two months.

The bond dispute stems from two separate operating-while-intoxicated cases. Scott pleaded no contest in May to operating while intoxicated after authorities accused her of crashing her white Range Rover into a parked Dodge Ram on February 16. Officials said the collision moved the parked truck approximately 50 feet. Scott was also charged with failing to stop or identify herself after allegedly causing property damage.

Days after entering her no-contest plea, Scott was arrested in connection with a separate suspected OWI incident after allegedly striking another parked vehicle.

Missed Hearings Led To Bench Warrants

Scott later failed to appear for court hearings connected to her pending cases, leading to bench warrants being issued in June. The warrants were canceled the following day after she was arraigned. Her bond was set at $10,000 at the time. However, prosecutors subsequently argued that Scott continued violating the conditions imposed by the court.

Revoking bond does not determine guilt in a pending case. It means the judge concluded that the conditions allowing Scott to remain out of custody had allegedly not been followed. Her ability to secure release through inpatient care suggests the court is leaving room for treatment while the legal cases continue.

Kim Scott Was Hospitalized After Reported Suicide Attempt

Scott’s latest court appearance came approximately one month after police and emergency medical personnel responded to her Michigan home. Dispatch audio obtained by TMZ described the call as a reported suicide attempt.

The recording indicated that a relative contacted emergency services after discovering that Scott had injured herself. She was transported by ambulance to McLaren Macomb Hospital for treatment. A fire and emergency medical report reportedly classified the incident as involving a hemorrhage or laceration.

Scott and Eminem, whose real name is Marshall Mathers III, first met as teenagers in the late 1980s. They welcomed Hailie in 1995 before marrying in 1999. Their first marriage ended in divorce in 2001.

The former couple later reconciled and remarried in January 2006, but the reunion was brief. Eminem filed for divorce months later, and the marriage ended that same year.

“For this show, expect energy. We’re bringing together some incredible men from across the United States and also building a complete entertainment experience around them,” Cabrera shared. “There will be fashion, swimwear, live entertainment, powerful personal stories, and of course, the excitement of finding out who becomes the next Mister USA. These men come from very different backgrounds, careers, and parts of the country. Once you hear their stories, you realize there isn’t just one definition of what a Mister USA should look or act like.” 

For those who have been watching men’s pageantry over the years, Cabrera said it’s “evolved tremendously.”

“Historically, male competitions were often focused primarily on appearance or physique. Today, audiences want much more than that and so do we. Confidence matters, so does communications, so does leadership, personality, ambition, authenticity, and the ability to possibly influence others,” Cabrera said. “Modern masculinity isn’t one dimensional at all. A man can be strong and compassionate, competitive, supportive, confident, and vulnerable. I think men’s pageantry finally has an opportunity to reflect that.”

Kainoa Hughes, Mister Hawaii, told The Blast exclusively that he became interested in competing in pageants after experiencing fashion shows in his modeling career. He said he decided to compete in Mister USA so he could “represent my people in Hawaii.” 

“None of the other Mister Hawaiis have taken any of the titles home, so I’m gonna be the first,” he confidently told The Blast. He also shared that “pageants are a great way to make lifelong connections and really learn more about yourself throughout the whole entire journey.”

The biggest challenge for him going into this pageant has been finding the time to prepare because he’s “balancing three or four jobs” at the moment because the cost of living in Hawaii is “one of the worst in the country.” But he said he sacrifices to be able to continue to live in “paradise.” 

He also gave some insight into his life and why competing in Mister USA was a good fit for him. 

“I personally think being a real person with real stories and real struggles that people can relate to and connect with because personally, I used to be pretty big. I was clinically obese,” he said. “So that’s my message I guess coming in. I definitely want to tell people that it’s never the end wherever you are in life.” 

He added, “Everything that’s going through my head walking out onto the stage, I would just think of myself as a little boy sitting in the crowd, watching in awe as I fulfill my biggest dreams that I could only imagine happening when I was younger.”

Robert Downey Jr. is officially suiting up as Iron Man again, even as his Marvel Cinematic Universe future takes a villainous turn. Disney confirmed at D23 that the Oscar winner will reprise Tony Stark for two new attractions coming to Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure.

Downey’s Iron Man will appear alongside Chris Hemsworth’s Thor, Anthony Mackie’s Captain America, Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel, Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye and other Marvel favorites when the expanded land opens in 2028. The announcement comes as Downey prepares to play Doctor Doom in “Avengers: Doomsday,” meaning fans will soon see him embody both an iconic Marvel hero and one of its most dangerous villains.

Disney revealed the new details during its Experiences showcase at D23 in Anaheim on Saturday, August 15. According to PEOPLE, Downey will portray Tony Stark in both Avengers Infinity Defense and Stark Flight Lab, two attractions currently under construction at Disney California Adventure.

The projects will double the size of Avengers Campus and bring several MCU actors back to their established roles. Imagineers shared behind-the-scenes footage of Downey, Hemsworth, Mackie, Larson and Renner recording material for the attractions while working on the set of “Avengers: Doomsday” in London.

The news marks Downey’s latest return as Iron Man following Tony Stark’s death in 2019’s “Avengers: Endgame.” His involvement is not limited to a recycled movie scene or archival footage. The actor has recorded new material created specifically for the Disneyland Resort experiences.

‘Avengers Infinity Defense’ Will Bring Thanos Back

Avengers Infinity Defense will place guests in the middle of a multiverse-spanning fight against an alternate version of Thanos. The attraction begins when Ms. Marvel, played by Iman Vellani, welcomes riders as new recruits and delivers their assignment. “It’s up to you to assemble the Avengers and stop Thanos,” Imagineers explained during the presentation.

The attraction’s villain is King Thanos, a version of the character from a reality in which he successfully defeated the Avengers. Riders will be tasked with reassembling the heroes and preventing him from using stolen Stark technology to spread destruction across multiple worlds.

The adventure will transport guests through recognizable Marvel locations, including Asgard, Wakanda, and New York City. Disney says the attraction will combine large physical sets with massive media scenes to create the feeling of moving between different worlds.

‘Stark Flight Lab’ Lets Guests Train Like Avengers

Downey will also play a central role in Stark Flight Lab, an attraction inspired by Tony Stark’s technology and experimentation. Mackie and Larson will join him as Captain America and Captain Marvel. “They will be your flight instructors as you feel what it’s like to train like an Avenger,” Imagineers said.

Guests will sit inside two-person “gyro-kinetic pods” that travel along a track before arriving at a testing station. A giant robotic arm will then lift each pod and perform high-speed movements designed to simulate flying like an Avenger.

Disney has said the ride’s movements will be inspired by Iron Man and other Marvel heroes. Imagineers previously worked with dancers to help choreograph how the robotic arms move, allowing the machines to produce different flight patterns and experiences.

Avengers Campus Will Double In Size

Both new attractions are scheduled to open in 2028. They will join the two existing Marvel rides at Disney California Adventure: Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! and WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure.

Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! follows Rocket as he attempts to free the other Guardians from the Collector’s fortress. Meanwhile, WEB SLINGERS allows guests to help Spider-Man capture Spider-Bots that have escaped inside the Worldwide Engineering Brigade campus.

Avengers Campus also includes character encounters and Pym Test Kitchen, a restaurant inspired by “Ant-Man and The Wasp” that plays with dramatically enlarged and reduced food items.

Marvel Fans Will See Downey As Both Hero And Villain

Downey first portrayed Tony Stark in 2008’s “Iron Man,” the movie that launched the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He continued playing the character across numerous solo films and team-up events before Stark sacrificed himself to defeat Thanos in “Avengers: Endgame.”

His return to Marvel was announced with a completely different character, stunning fans who expected any potential comeback to involve an alternate version of Iron Man. Now, Disney is giving audiences both. Downey will embrace his darker Marvel future as Doctor Doom on the big screen while preserving his heroic legacy as Tony Stark at Disney California Adventure.

Jessica Simpson is soaking up the last days of summer after enjoying a lavish vacation..

“Take me back to Turks and Caicos,” Simpson, 46, wrote via Instagram on Saturday, August 15, sharing a handful of photos from her getaway to the U.K. territory. “Thank you @lacurevillas and @pavilionluxuryvillas for an unforgettable stay. We’ll be seein’ y’all again very very soon.

The singer sported a tiny polka-dot bikini in one pic as she caught some rays while lounging on a striped towel. She accessorized her ensemble with a delicate chain necklace and a pair of tortoise-shell sunglasses.

In another snap, Simpson covered her two-piece with a black sundress and multicolored shawl.

Simpson has long embraced her curves, claiming that she was constantly told to lose weight in order to be successful.

“When I first started signing, I was, to everyone at the record label, supposed to be this pop star,” she recalled during a June concert. “There was Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera … and I had to follow in their footsteps. I really thought I was signed just because of my voice, then it was like, ‘OK, you need to lose 15 pounds.’”

Simpson continued, “To tell a 17-year-old that is a lot. [On my] second record, I [was told] needed to have a six-pack, which was definitely not going to happen. I’m just not built that way, you know? There were just all these things that I had to be to be ‘Jessica Simpson’ or the version of Jessica Simpson they believed I should be to be successful. I always felt like a failure, like, I was never good enough.”

After struggling with her weight for many years, the fashion designer has since learned to make peace with her body.

“I don’t really look at it as, like, a weight loss journey. I think it’s a journey of empowerment and self-love and acceptance,” Simpson exclusively told Us in 2022. “It’s one of those things [where] it’s like, we all want what we can’t have. We all want the body type that we aren’t [and] that we can’t change.”

The pop star added at the time, “It’s about accepting and loving ourselves for who we are. For me, I have done that at every size [and] I just feel every woman should be celebrated.”
