Dakota Johnson’s Best Performance of All Time Is a Late-Night Sleeper Hit

Published

Widely recognized for her lead role in the billion-dollar Fifty Shades film series, Dakota Johnson‘s career has come a long way since then. The Texas-born actress was most recently seen in the 2025 romantic dramedy Materialists alongside Chris Evans and Pedro Pascal. Directed by Celine Song, the film was both a critical and commercial success, marking one of Johnson’s most notable projects to date.

While audiences may easily recognize her from these high-profile titles, she delivered one of her strongest performances in a lesser-known gem that hit theaters just two years ago. Daddio sees Johnson take on a far more intimate and restrained role, carrying much of the film’s emotional weight through a quiet, dialogue-driven story. The drama film is a perfect alternative for fans of Before Sunrise, the first installment in the Before trilogy, and the 1995 romantic drama starring Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy.

Released in theaters on June 28, 2024, Daddio has found a new streaming home not long after Netflix restricted access for some users. Starting April 26, 2026, the compelling drama will be available to watch on Hulu, offering an unfiltered look at the slow unraveling of two strangers’ lives over the course of a single night. Also starring Sean Penn, the Oscar-winning actor was initially suggested by Johnson, who personally sent him the script before filming began, and as expected, he delivered a standout performance. Daddio boasts a Certified Fresh 75% critics’ rating on Rotten Tomatoes and an impressive 89% audience score.

What’s Next for Dakota Johnson?

Following the success of Materialists, Johnson will next be seen in Verity, a Colleen Hoover adaptation directed by Michael Showalter and written by Nick Antosca. The psychological thriller is set for release by Amazon MGM on October 2, 2026, over a year after production wrapped in April 2025. Johnson stars as Lowen Ashleigh, a writer contacted by Jeremy Crawford to complete his wife’s (bestselling author Verity Crawford) book series, as she is unable to finish it following a mysterious accident. Anne Hathaway and Josh Hartnett also star.

Daddio streams on Hulu this month. Stay tuned to Collider for more news.

‘Tracker’ Season 3 Finally Reunites Colter With His Two Best Allies

'Tracker' Season 3 Finally Reunites Colter With His Two Best Allies

Editor’s Note: The following contains spoilers from Tracker Season 3, Episode 15.There’s a classic saying that dates back to the 12th century that is most commonly quoted as “no good deed goes unpunished,” and that’s an apt description of Tracker‘s most recent Colter Shaw (Justin Hartley) adventure. This week, Colter and Randy (Chris Lee) team up for a Midwestern adventure that starts off as a simple missing person’s case turned violent kidnapping — and the direction it goes will surprise you. “No Good Deed” certainly lives up to its name as the CBS drama continues to keep us on our toes.

“No Good Deed” Begins With the Disappearance of Randy’s Old Friend

This week’s episode begins in Minneapolis when Simon Boyce (Matt Murray), an old friend of Randy’s, walks outside his home in the middle of the night. As he looks around nervously, he ducks into some bushes when a mysterious truck pulls around the corner. It’s here we discover that Simon is under house arrest for hacking, and his ankle monitor keeps track of his every movement. Well, until it doesn’t. The next day, Reenie Greene (Fiona Rene) and Mel Day (Cassady McClincy Zhang) do the expositional download and reveal that Simon went missing. Although his monitor still shows that he’s at home, his mother, Mrs. Boyce (Jill Teed), can’t find him anywhere. Unsurprisingly, Randy flew out to Minnesota to catch up with Colter for the job — and Reenie is flying out next for backup.

Arriving at Simon’s place, Colter sees that Randy is taking this pretty hard. He and Simon haven’t been super close lately, and so Randy has internalized some of the guilt. But Colter won’t have it. Indoors, they speak with Simon’s mother, who informs them that her son has been missing for a while. As a parameter for his house arrest, Simon isn’t allowed access to the internet or any other technological items that may contribute to his old habits. So, Colter and Randy take a look around, and after scanning the perimeter, discover that Simon’s ankle monitor has been ditched in a nearby brush. But what’s especially interesting is that it looks as if it’s been cut somehow without going off, which either took a lot of skill or some help. “Either someone helped him, or he was taken,” Colter concludes. Looking into the chip on the ankle monitor, Randy tracks it to BJH Industries, which lies just outside of Minneapolis. Arriving at the address, Colter and Randy happen upon one of Simon’s old buddies, Bill Henderson (Reggie Watkins), who sent the chip to Simon.

However, that’s not all that Simon ordered. According to Bill, he also sent him several items just last week, including parts involve drone. As if by some technical magic that continues to border on wizardry, Colter and Randy track down Simon’s drone footage and peruse through his archive of cloud data, which definitely goes against his court mandate. They discover that he witnessed a kidnapping in the middle of his neighborhood, which appears to have gotten him in some trouble. Meanwhile, Reenie goes to talk to the attorney Jim Osmond (Andy Thompson), hoping to postpone the court date just a few days, but no dice. The attorney — whose wife’s identity was stolen the year prior by folks not far off the path from Simon — has no interest in doing anything other than punishing Simon to the full extent of the law. Overall, things aren’t looking good.

Colter and Randy Finally Team Up in ‘Tracker’ Season 3’s Latest Thrill

Back in the truck, Tracker reminds us that these dialogues between Colter and Randy are always infinitely better when they’re in the same room together. But as they head to their next destination, the pair shift their focus from Simon to Reenie when Colter asks how she’s really doing. Randy tries to avoid dishing on his boss, but eventually folds and tells Colter what we already know: she’s covering up for something. The non-conversation is cut short, however, when the pair pulls up at the house in question — the same one where the kidnapping occurred. Colter goes indoors to investigate, telling Randy to stay in the truck, but Tracker‘s resident hacker has fancied himself a rewardist too and stumbles into the sights of a nearby nervous neighbor (Ryan Beil). It turns out, the neighbor has the wrecked drone, which would have been fine if Randy hadn’t revealed that he had seen the kidnapping footage, because it turns out the man knows the kidnapper in question, a man named Stone (Andrew Nadanyi).

In the neighboring house, Colter finds the drone’s remote control and turns on the monitor to find Randy staring at him from the other end. Back in the neighbor’s house, Randy finds himself in a pickle as Stone, the kidnapper, creeps up on our favorite hacker with a gun pointed at the back of his head. But before he can shoot Randy in the back, Colter arrives and disarms the kidnapper. The cowardly neighbor reveals that Stone was the mastermind, trying to shift the kidnapping blame to someone else. Colter goes with the homeowner downstairs to see where the woman, now identified as Bruna Pryor (Leah Gibson), was held. Was being the operative word here. It turns out, Bruna had escaped earlier that morning — and Colter deduces that she had help. Upon reviewing the ransom video of Bruna, Randy looks into the text thread between the kidnappers and her poor excuse for a husband. Elsewhere, we find out that Simon is with Bruna at a safe house of some kind. But while he’s concerned that she’s lost too much blood, she refuses to go to a hospital or get any authorities involved. So, when Bill arrives to try and help (after Simon borrowed her phone to text him), Bruna murders him instead.

Upon learning from Reenie that Bruna’s husband, Leon (Chris Walters), is a major fentanyl dealer wanted in several states, Colter and Randy begin to piece some things together. Although the Pryors have gotten good at covering their tracks, Randy pulls off yet another seemingly impossible cyber miracle and finds a location that may just be the one. Back at Bruna’s safe house, the outlaw holds Simon at gunpoint and gets him to cooperate. Her plan? To meet up with her husband, who left her for dead and, well, you get the picture. After Colter and Randy arrive at the apartment and find Bill’s corpse and phone, they use that information to track Bruna and Simon to the other side of town.

This Week’s ‘Tracker’ Concludes With a Colter and Reenie Reunion

Things get a bit explosive when Colter and Randy trace Bruna and Simon all the way to the meeting location. Stopping the car, Bruna arrives to confront her husband, and a firefight breaks out between them. Colter pulls up and runs into the middle of the gunfire, hoping to pull Simon out before he’s killed. As Leon gets the upper hand on Bruna, Colter saves her life by shooting her husband dead, though he leaves her for the cops to deal with. After Randy pulls Simon out, they get him home safely.

Back at Simon’s house, the longtime friends are able to make amends after Randy wasn’t there before. No doubt, everything they went through more than makes up for it. Likewise, Randy thanks Colter for saving his life before, but our hero refuses to let him think about it again. But before “No Good Deed” comes to a close, this Tracker episode does what we’ve been waiting for all season: bring Colter and Reenie back together. The next day at the courthouse, Colter catches her after Simon’s hearing, which goes quite well for the former hacker. But as they leave the building, Colter finally stops and asks her if she’s okay. But what could be a real moment of vulnerability for Reenie turns out to be nothing but a tease. Instead, she refuses to admit what she’s been going through. Surprising us with one last twist, Colter offers to buy her lunch as they walk arm-in-arm toward a nearby diner.

Tracker airs Sundays on CBS and is available the next day for streaming on Paramount+.

Kim Zolciak Gives Update On Her Kids Amid Custody Claims

‘RHOA’ Star Kim Zolciak Fires Back At Claims She Lost Custody Of Kids To Ex Kroy Biermann

Roommates, things between Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann are heating up again. After Biermann filed court documents seeking sole custody of their kids, claiming everything from missed therapy sessions to a dog bite incident, Kim isn’t staying quiet. The reality star fired back, insisting the allegations are false and calling out the internet for blowing things out of proportion.

Kim Zolciak Sets The Record Straight On Custody Claims

Hours after TMZ reported on her alleged loss of custody on Friday, April 3, Kim Zolciak called out the publication on her Instagram Story. Over a screenshot of the article, she wrote, “I will absolutely not put up with these lies any longer.” Additionally, in a lengthy Story post with white text on a black background, she made it clear that folks need to stop playing with her:

“I signed a temporary custody order at the end of January. The order clearly states that both the mother and father are to participate in two counseling sessions per month for two months, followed by one session per month thereafter. I was out of the country from February 26 through March 28 due to contractual filming obligations on two separate productions. During that time, I did not have a single day off, making it impossible to attend the required counseling sessions. Kroy as of today (I had Kj and Kash up until 5pm today) currently has the children for spring break, which is his designated parenting time under the existing agreement. I am scheduled to resume my parenting time when the children return on Friday. My counseling sessions are scheduled and will be completed next week. For the avoidance of any doubt, I have not lost custody of my children, nor has there been any modification to the custody arrangement outside of the agreed-upon temporary order.”

What Led Kim To Speak Out?

Here’s what we know so far in the ongoing Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann custody saga. As previously reported, court documents obtained by TMZ stated that a Georgia judge has temporarily granted Kroy custody of their kids from April 3 until Kim completes four parent therapy sessions, though she could reunite with them as soon as April 13. In his filing, Kroy alleged that Kim skipped court-ordered therapy sessions, spent two weeks out of the country, and only saw the kids one night—during which a dog reportedly bit one of their children.

Kim, however, quickly shut down the claims. Speaking to TMZ, she called the allegations false and a deliberate attempt to defame her. Furthermore, the ‘Tardy For The Party’ artist explained she spent time away to film two television shows, emphasizing that her work was meant to provide for her family and ensure her children were cared for.

Kim & Kroy’s Divorce Seemingly Continues

Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann first filed for divorce in May 2023, officially citing April 30 as their separation date. In her filing, Kim described their marriage as “irretrievably broken with no hope of reconciliation,” with both parents initially seeking sole physical custody of their children, while Kroy also requested sole legal custody. By July 2023, the couple decided to pause the divorce and attempt to work on their marriage, with Kim asking the court to dismiss her petition. However, just a month later in August, Kroy refiled for divorce, keeping the legal battle very much alive.

Tennis Legend Patrick McEnroe Claims He Can Beat Aryna Sabalenka

Published

on

Tennis legend Patrick McEnroe thinks he still has what it takes to beat a World No. 1 on the court.

On the Friday, April 4, episode of his Holding Court with Patrick McEnroe radio show, the former tennis pro took a call from a listener, who asked McEnroe if he could beat the current top women’s tennis player, Aryna Sabalenka.

McEnroe, 59, didn’t answer the question directly — instead using a metaphor of a basketball team of 15-year-old boys competing against a WNBA team — before eventually suggesting that he thinks he could take on Sabalenka.

“What would happen if … the best 15-year-old boys played against the top WNBA team?” McEnroe asked the caller.

Tennis star Iga Swiatek did not mince words when talking about the controversial “Battle of the Sexes” tennis match between Aryna Sabalenka and Nick Kyrgios. While attending a press conference before the United Cup in Australia on Friday, January 2, the six-time Grand Slam champion said the questionable match was not necessary because “women’s tennis […]

“They’d beat them, easily,” the caller responded. McEnroe agreed.

“It doesn’t matter to me because it’s just a different game,” McEnroe continued. “The short answer is that I was a decent pro as a journeyman type player, ranked most of my career between 30 and 75, 100, whatever it was. But if you took the top junior player in the world, the top 17-year-old and put him up against Sabalenka, they beat her 6-1, 6-1.”

He added, “But again to me it’s irrelevant. I don’t say that to denigrate women … because I love women’s tennis. I’ll watch that if there’s a great matchup more than I’ll watch a men’s blowout match. It’s just a totally different game. And tennis for some reason, people don’t look at it the same way because they see Madison Keys or Sabalenka hit their forehand as hard as [Jannik] Sinner. Well, they’re not hitting it with the same spin and the movement’s different. But anyway, that’s neither here nor there.”

Sabalenka, 27, is the current World No. 1 in women’s tennis, coming off back-to-back US Open championships. She’s also a two-time Australian Open champion and a French Open finalist.

In December 2025, she competed against Nick Kyrgios in the modern version of the “Battle of the Sexes,” an ode to the legendary 1973 tennis match between Billie Jean King and Bobby Riggs.

Kyrgios won the match in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3, in a spectacle that led to much ridicule from fans and other pro tennis players because of its bending of the tennis rules.

Despite the loss, Sabalenka said she “enjoyed” the match before alluding to a potential rematch against Kyrgios.

“Really enjoyed the show,” Sabalenka said at the time. “And I feel like next time I play him I’m going to know the tactics, his strengths and his weaknesses, and it’s going to be a better match, for sure.”

Kyrgios shared some positive feedback on Sabalenka and the match as well, adding that he felt the match “could have gone either way.”

“She’s an amazing athlete, when she was moving side to side she was playing shots that some of the top men play,” he said on the court after the match. “I’m not surprised, I’ve seen her play and we have practiced a couple of times. She was right there, it could have gone either way.”

Halle Berry Proved This Retro-Chic Clog Look Elevates Any Outfit

on

Us Weekly has affiliate partnerships. We receive compensation when you click on a link and make a purchase. Learn more!

Halle Berry stepped out in chic clogs paired with a casual outfit, and honestly? She made wooden-soled shoes look like the coolest thing on two feet. At 59-years-old, she continues to dress like she’s writing the rulebook on effortless style. The rest of Us are just taking notes.

Berry’s relaxed spring outfit was anchored by a pair of heeled clogs that gave the whole look a little edge and a lot of personality. It’s the kind of move that reminds you why she’s been a style icon for decades. She picks pieces that feel cool without trying too hard, and clogs (yes, clogs) are having exactly that kind of moment right now.

Luckily, the Cushionaire Heeled Faux Wood Mules are about as close as you can get to Berry’s look without raiding her closet. They’ve got that same wooden-heel energy she was rocking, plus studded detailing that gives them a little bite. Think less “garden clog” and more “rich mom.” On sale for $45, they cost less than most dinner tabs in Los Angeles.

Get the Cushionaire Heeled Faux Wood Mules for $45 (was $65) at Amazon! Please note, prices are accurate at the date of publication but are subject to change.

What really sets these apart from your average mule is the memory foam footbed. You know how some heeled shoes look fantastic for about 90 minutes before your feet stage a full revolt? These are built to avoid that problem entirely. The memory foam is designed for all-day comfort, which means you can wear them from morning coffee through a late dinner without wincing. That’s a big deal when you’re talking about a heeled shoe.

After years in the entertainment industry, Lindsay Lohan has become a pro at dressing for flights, expertly combining comfort with style. She recently touched down in New York City wearing an elevated yet laid-back combo, swapping out simple sweats for stretchy track pants that made her legs look model-long. While we don’t know the exact […]

The faux wood platform gives them that chunky, retro silhouette that Berry nailed so well, and the black colorway keeps things versatile. Pair them with cropped jeans and a white tee for the weekend. Throw them on with a midi skirt for work. Style them with wide-leg trousers the way Berry would, and suddenly you look like someone who reads fashion magazines for fun (even if you don’t).

The studs elevate the clogs from “nice shoe” to “conversation starter.” There’s something about studded detailing on a clog that feels a little rebellious, a little rock and roll. It’s the same quality Berry brings to everything she wears. She takes something classic and adds just enough attitude to make it interesting.

And can we appreciate what $45 buys you here? A heeled mule with memory foam, studded accents and a look that mirrors what one of Hollywood’s most stylish women just wore in public. You’d easily spend three or four times that at a department store for a similar shoe, and your feet probably wouldn’t be as happy at the end of the day.

You don’t need a closet full of designer labels to look put together. Sometimes the smartest style move is finding an affordable shoe that punches way above its price tag, slipping it on and walking out the door like you own the place. Halle would approve.

There’s Only 1 Drama Show You Need to Watch in April

Published

on

This month, the season 3 premiere of Euphoria finally debuts on HBO and HBO Max after a too-long five-year hiatus.

If you still haven’t caught up on the provocative, highly memeable show, you’ve still got time to binge all sixteen of its provocative episodes.

For the uninformed, the HBO show follows the teenagers at East Highland High School in California, as they navigate sex, drugs, alcohol, friendship, cheating, betrayal and not much else.

The show stars Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi and Hunter Schafer.

Watch With Us explains why you have to check out this controversial pop culture phenomenon before it concludes this spring.

Are Zendaya Sydney Sweeney Jacob Elordi Too Expensive for Euphoria to Continue Agent Weighs In

Related: Why Million-Dollar Salary Demands Could End ‘Euphoria’

Has the delay to Euphoria’s third season given the show’s stars Sydney Sweeney, Zendaya and Jacob Elordi a get-out-of-jail-free card? And will it spell the end of the beloved — but beleaguered — hit show? When HBO pulled the plug on production of Euphoria’s third season earlier this week, citing disagreements over the direction the […]

The Plotlines Are Absurd, Obscene — and Addictive

The central narrative of Euphoria is driven by Rue (Zendaya), a teenage drug addict who’s been struggling with addiction since the death of her father from cancer. Season 1 kicks off with Rue’s recent release from rehab, and she makes it clear to the audience, as our omniscient narrator, that she has no plans of staying clean. While Rue dips her toes back into opiate abuse, she becomes head-over-heels infatuated with new student Jules (Schafer), a trans girl who frequents one-night stands with older men — including the father (Eric Dane) of East Highland’s football star, Nate Jacobs (Elordi).

Nate and Maddie Perez (Alexa Demie) are in an emotionally abusive relationship, while Maddie’s best friend, the highly sexual and emotional Cassie Howard (Sydney Sweeney), pursues a relationship with college freshman Chris McKay (Algee Smith). Their other friend, Kat Hernandez (Barbie Ferreira), decides to embrace body positivity and her sexuality by becoming a camgirl. Various plot threads in season 1 of Euphoria involve: micro-penises, sexual blackmail, domestic abuse, pedophilia, fentanyl abuse, public masturbation, kidney infections and murder, and that isn’t even the half of it. Criticisms against Euphoria have concerned such explicitly gratuitous narratives, but one thing will always be true: the people want to watch them.

‘Euphoria’ Launched the Careers of 2026’s Leading Stars

Euphoria served as the jumping-off point for much of its core cast. While Zendaya was probably the biggest name of the high school characters at the time, she has since been matched by Elordi, Sweeney and Schafer. From his imposing, genuinely terrifying performance as Nate Jacobs, Elordi was cast in Deep Water opposite Ana De Armas and Ben Affleck, indie film The Sweet East and eventually as Elvis Presley in Sofia Coppola‘s Priscilla. While post-Priscilla Elordi made his mark in Saltburn, Oh, Canada and On Swift Horses, it was on the set of Priscilla that Elordi was recommended to Guillermo del Toro to take on his Academy Award-nominated performance as Frankenstein’s Monster.

Sweeney, too, has had quite a buzzy post-Euphoria career (and not always for the best reasons), starring in movies like The Housemaid, Immaculate, Madame Web and Anyone But You. Meanwhile, Schafer has become a major face for transgender representation in Hollywood, appearing in The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, Cuckoo and Kinds of Kindness. It’s undeniable that whatever you think of the quality of Euphoria, it served as a crucial breeding ground for top young Hollywood talent doing some of their best work. And while well-known, Zendaya further proved her acting prowess beyond her Disney Channel years — for her performance as Rue, she clinched two Primetime Emmys and a Golden Globe.

The Filmmaking Is Highly Stylized and Ambitious

Say what you will about Euphoria show runner, creator and writer Sam Levinson‘s screenwriting abilities, the man knows how to keep things unique with the camera and editing. The series employs numerous creative gimmicks: fourth wall-breaking sequences, animated sequences, dance numbers, dream sequences and more. Ultimately, the creatives behind the show go out of their way to make Euphoria hyper-stylized in just about every filmmaking aspect, from the directing and costume design to the sets and editing. The show is meant to evoke the emotional reality of the characters’ inner perspectives, which doesn’t necessarily reflect objective reality.

While the first season was shot on an Arri Alexa 65 digital camera, the second season and the two specials were shot on 35mm Kodak film stock, giving the visual quality a nostalgic texture. To communicate the emotional states of the characters, lighting is very intentionally deployed, with blues and purples conjuring a frantic atmosphere, and greens and yellows evoking distress. Energetic camera movements create a kinetic fluidity to the show through frequent whip pans and tracking shots. And, of course, the costume design is one of the most memorable aspects of the filmmaking, with highly meticulous outfits catered to the personalities of each character — in particular, Maddie’s detailed and eccentric makeup designs are to die for.

‘Marshals’ Digs Deeper Into Taylor Sheridan’s Past by Channelling ‘Sons of Anarchy’ in the Latest Episode

Published

on

Belle Skinner (Arielle Kebbel) undercover and being grabbed by a biker in the 'Marshals' episode "Out of the Shadows"

Editor’s Note: The following contains spoilers for Marshals Season 1, Episode 6.Riding off last week’s cliffhanger, Marshals continues to push Kayce Dutton (Luke Grimes) and his team into the fire as they search for the missing Native girls who have been stolen off Broken Rock. But if last week’s episode, “Lost Girl,” hoped to channel Wind River, this week’s adventure claws further back into Taylor Sheridan‘s filmography to his Sons of Anarchy days. Only, we would have you remember that “Out of the Shadows” is still a product of network television, and thus is nowhere near as gratuitous as the FX classic. If anything, it only teases us with the freedom of cable while reminding us firmly that Marshals airs not on the Paramount Network, but on CBS.

“Out of the Shadows” Continues Where Last Week Left Off

This week’s Marshals begins with a flashback to a year ago. It’s here that we see that first moment when Kayce and Tate (Brecken Merrill) learn that Monica has succumbed to her battle with cancer. Kayce is given her necklace by a nurse and does his best to comfort his son before “Out of the Shadows” pivots back to the present day. Now, Tate rides up to his father and berates him for not saving Hayley Charlo (Isabel DeRoy-Olson) last week — and he won’t be the only one. Sadly, Kayce has no news on her whereabouts, which irks Tate even more. Of course, he’s not the only one irritated with Kayce.

Back at Marshals HQ, Andrea Cruz (Ash Santos) and Pete “Cal” Calvin (Logan Marshall-Green) discuss the latest updates on the case before Miles Kittle (Tatanka Means) wanders in. It turns out that he has been (understandably) putting off contacting Ava’s mother, Sera (Otgadahe Whitman-Fox), about the girl’s death, which they learned of from Hayley. But when Kayce walks in, all Miles can think about is giving him a hard time for letting the girl go. Thankfully, the Dutton heir is saved when Belle Skinner (Arielle Kebbel) enters with an update. It turns out that Kurt Bludsoe, the man trafficking the girls, had visited a mechanic named Eli Craig right before the Marshals took him out — a mechanic who may be in on the whole conspiracy.

⚖️
Mayor of Kingstown

You are a Dutton — or you might as well be. You understand that some things are worth protecting at any cost, and that the modern world’s indifference to history, to land, to legacy, is not something you’re willing to accept quietly. You lead from the front, you carry your family’s weight without complaint, and when someone threatens what’s yours, you don’t escalate — you finish it. You’re not cruel. But you are absolute. In Yellowstone’s world, that combination of ferocity and loyalty doesn’t make you a villain. It makes you the only thing standing between everything that matters and everyone who wants to take it.

You thrive in the chaos of high-stakes negotiation, where the money is enormous, the margins are thin, and the wrong word in the wrong room can cost everyone everything. You’re a fixer — the person called when a situation is already on fire and needs someone with the nerve to walk into it. West Texas oil country rewards exactly what you are: sharp, adaptable, unsentimental, and absolutely clear-eyed about what people want and what they’ll do to get it. You’re not naive enough to think this world is fair. You’re smart enough to be the one deciding who it’s fair to.

You are a Dwight Manfredi — someone who has served their time, paid their dues, and arrived somewhere unexpected with nothing but their reputation and their wits. You adapt without losing yourself. You build loyalty through respect rather than fear, though you’re not above reminding people that the two aren’t mutually exclusive. Tulsa King is for people who are still standing when everyone assumed they’d be finished — who find, in an unfamiliar place, that they’re more capable than the world gave them credit for. You don’t need a throne. You build one, wherever you happen to land.

You carry the weight of a system that is broken by design, and you do it anyway — because someone has to, and because you’re the only one positioned to do it without the whole thing collapsing. Mike McLusky’s world is for people who are comfortable operating where there are no good options, only less catastrophic ones. You speak every language: law enforcement, criminal, political, human. That fluency makes you invaluable and it makes you a target. You’ve made your peace with both. Mayor of Kingstown belongs to people who understand that keeping the peace is not the same as being at peace — and who do the job regardless.

But before Miles can get excited, he and Cal head to the Rez to give the overdue notification to Ava’s mother. Cal tells Miles that his first notification nearly broke him, but that it’s a part of the job they simply have to do. Yet, before they’re able to speak with Sera, they are ushered into chairman Thomas Rainwater’s (Gil Birmingham) office, who demands to learn of their progress on the case. When he discovers that Ava has been killed, he’s heartbroken. “Tragedy is one of the few things that Broken Rock has in abundance,” echoes Mo (Mo Brings Plenty). But when Miles tells Rainwater that Kayce let Hayley go after finding her, the chairman’s blood begins to boil. Soon after, Sara arrives, and Miles does his best to relay what they learned about Ava to her, only he breaks down before he can. Cal finishes the notification for him as Rainwater and Mo comfort the grieving mother.

Meanwhile, Belle and Cruz’s research into Craig has proven to be fruitful after all. It turns out that Craig was the last link to Bludsoe before the marshals caught up with him, making his garage the most likely place for the girls to have either been transferred to another vehicle or stashed for the time being. Using a security camera from across the street, they discover that someone in a white van wearing an Iron Sentinels Motor Club jacket drove off soon after — seemingly with the girls inside. “They’re ultra-violent and highly organized,” Belle tells Cal about the biker gang. “If they can profit from it, they’ll do it.” We also learn a harrowing statistic about missing Native American women, as Kayce learns from an analyst that 43 girls have been reported missing from Montana-based reservations over the last two years.

Kayce and the Marshals Head to a Biker Gang Rally

The best way to find out more about the biker gang is surveillance, so Cruz, Miles, and Kayce head to the Iron Sentinels’ local bar. As they wait, Cruz uncharacteristically opens up a little about her personal life, revealing that until she acknowledged her grief, she wasn’t able to shake the pain of losing her father. As she says this, Kayce fumbles about with Monica’s necklace, seemingly absorbing some of her experiential wisdom. Interrupting their therapy session, Miles notes that the best way to watch the biker gang is to draw them out so that they can actually scour the premises for any useful intel. When Cruz asks how, Kayce reveals his inner Dutton by “going after what they love.” Pouring gasoline on their nicely lined-up bikes, Kayce lights them all on fire. The men find their way outside as Cruz and Miles storm the bar in search of the girls. However, they’re nowhere to be found.

Cruz clones a cell phone she finds on the table, which suggests that the girls may be at an Iron Sentinels rally in the Milk River Valley area, which will bring in chapters throughout the country. According to the texts, a club “nomad” called “Brimstone,” real name Keith Stelton (Adam Dunnells), is set to bring the “entertainment.” While it seems like a no-brainer, with Cruz and Belle on board to reactivate one of the latter’s old cover identities to make contact with an old, well, contact, Cal would prefer a state of federal assistance. Of course, they don’t get any, and so, instead, they convince him to use some of their captured meth from a previous case as a lure to bring in her old contact Squirrel. Instead of gearing up for the mission, Kayce arrives home at East Camp to find Rainwater and Mo waiting for him. Rainwater pushes Kayce about letting Hayley go, but he’s already beating himself enough. After their brief (and toothless) tussle, Kayce rides out to Monica’s grave site to find Tate sleeping beside it. “I came out here hoping mom would cheer me up, she usually does,” he says, and though Kayce tries to fill in, Hayley’s predicament has soured his mood. Tate believes that they’ve both disappointed Monica.

Luke Grimes in Marshals Episode 1

The newest U.S. Marshal is badly outnumbered in this week’s episode.

When Kayce returns to HQ, Cal gives Belle the green light when she confirms that her contact, Squirrel (Derrick Aguis), will be at the rally — and it isn’t long before the marshals make it there. Stashed in a mobile HQ in a small trailer, the team prepares for the operation. Belle transforms herself with an intense makeover as “Brandy,” and uses her new appearance (and personality) to waltz back into Squirrel’s good-graces. When she offers him the meth as a deal, he decides to introduce her to Brimstone, who is interested in moving the product with another shipment set to go out that afternoon to Calgary. But, as the team quickly put together, the moment that his shipment crosses the Canadian border, the girls are as good as gone.

Unfortunately for Belle, Brimstone leaves her alone with another biker (Tim Sitarz) — and things get dicey pretty fast. He recalls having seen her several weeks back at a poker table, with blonde hair and calling herself “Turek.” Kayce knows that her cover is blown, and he goes out to intercept the biker, who now believes Belle to be an infiltrator. Things get especially heated when Squirrel arrives, and Kayce shows up at the eleventh hour — killing the man who tried to harm his teammate.

When Squirrel reveals that Brimstone is moving product in a truck out back, Belle and Kayce close in on the Iron Sentinel nomad. At the same time, Cal, Miles, and Cruz boldly gear up and head into the middle of the action. Somehow, they manage to make their way through all these uber-violent bikers without so much as a slash or a cut, and, frankly, the whole thing is a bit hard to believe. But as a firefight erupts, Kayce and the team take out Brimstone before they get into the back of his van and begin opening the containers in the back. While they’re disheartened at first to find only drugs, the rest of the containers are full of the abducted girls, including Hayley. It’s a happy ending after all.

In the aftermath, Miles passes on Rainwater’s thanks to the team as Belle does her best to shed her biker persona. Earlier in the episode, Cal asked her how her husband would feel about her going undercover again, something she told him was nowhere near his business. But after Belle offers to be his wingman in trying to reconnect with his daughter, Madison (Morgan Lindholm), at the bar, it appears that she may have some sort of interest in him beyond friendship. At first, we thought that Marshals was setting Kayce and Belle up to be the show’s power couple, but now we’re not so sure.

But that’s not where things conclude this week. After a heart-to-heart between father and son where Kayce informs Tate of their success, “Out of the Shadows” concludes with the Duttons returning to the Rez for Monica’s remembrance ceremony. Upon reuniting with Monica’s grandfather, Felix Long (Rudy Ramos), Kayce and Tate stand to honor their lost loved one — and the rest of Kayce’s new team stands beside him in support. During the ceremony itself, Kayce finally offers his son Monica’s necklace after all this time. “Been clinging to it since mom left, maybe it’s time I start letting go,” he says.

Marshals airs Sundays on CBS and is available for streaming the next day on Paramount+.

Pros & Cons
  • It’s always great when Kayce leans out-of-bounds, especially when explosions are involved.
  • Rudy Ramos was a welcome surprise.
  • In what world would that biker gang have not ganged up on the marshals in the middle of their rally?
  • I get that Kayce made a potentially bad call, but questioning his loyalties to finding the missing girls is a major stretch.

HBO Max Can’t Contain Dwayne Johnson’s $962 Million Fantasy Action Juggernaut

Published

on

Joan-Rivers

On July 10, 2026, the long-awaited live-action Moana remake will set sail across the world and into theaters. Recently, the release of the official trailer gave fans their first glimpse at Dwayne Johnson‘s physical embodiment of Maui, following his voice work in the animated version. As well as this, the trailer also introduced fans fully to Catherine Laga’aia as the titular daughter of Motunui’s chief, with the stunning visual landscape crafted evident from just a short trailer. At a time when reboots, remakes, and live-action adaptations are so popular, Moana looks like one of the best.

Excitingly, this isn’t the only big-franchise entry Johnson is delivering in 2026, as it was recently confirmed that Jumanji 3, a sequel to Jumanji: The Next Level, had officially wrapped filming. It was then confirmed late last month that the threequel had been pushed back, moving from a December 11 theatrical release to December 25. Johnson will once again be joined by the trio of Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan, and Jack Black, with Danny DeVito, Nick Jonas, Marin Hinkle, Bebe Neuwirth, Lamorne Morris, and Rhys Darby also set to return to the cast. Both Dan Hildebrand and Jack Jewkes will join as new faces.

Ahead of this exciting threequel, the most successful film from the franchise has landed a spot on the global streaming charts. Released in 2017, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle was a huge hit in theaters, scoring a $962 million global haul against a reported budget of just $90 million. Fans had waited over two decades for the film, which served as a sequel to the 1995 favorite starring Robin Williams and Kirsten Dunst. At the time of writing, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle is one of the ten most-streamed movies on HBO Max worldwide.

Not just a smash hit at the box office, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle also received a positive response from critics. On review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, the movie earned a “certified fresh” rating of 77%, with the consensus on the site reading, “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle uses a charming cast and a humorous twist to offer an undemanding yet solidly entertaining update on its source material.” Audiences agreed, awarding an 87% score that is 24% higher than the 1995 original.

Taylor Swift allegedly feels “relieved” after Blake Lively‘s lawsuit against Justin Baldoni suffered a major setback this week.

The chart-topping pop star is preparing for her wedding to NFL star Travis Kelce and seemingly doesn’t want the case to drag on until her big day.

Taylor Swift and Blake Lively’s relationship has been strained since the singer got dragged into the actress’s legal battle against Justin Baldoni, with several of their text messages being exposed.

Sources close to Swift are claiming that the “Blank Space” singer is breathing a tentative sigh of relief after Lively suffered a major setback in her long-running legal battle with Justin Baldoni.

The pair used to be best pals but seemingly fell out after Swift was named in Lively’s ongoing legal battle with her “It Ends With Us” costar, with their private conversation also revealing that the singer allegedly referred to Baldoni as a “b-tch.”

Now that a federal judge has dismissed 10 of Lively’s 13 claims against Baldoni, sources told Rob Shuter’s #ShutterScoop that Swift sees it as a welcome development and secretly hopes it’s the beginning of the end.

“It’s a huge relief,” an insider told the journalist. “This case just got dramatically weaker.”

The Singer Wants The Case ‘Wrapped Up Before Her Summer Wedding’

Reports are rife suggesting Lively doesn’t plan to back down despite the loss and wants her day in court.

After the judge dismissed most of her claims, she’s left with just three allegations to prove, namely, breach of contract, retaliation, and aiding and abetting in retaliation, which will all proceed to a civil trial in New York on 18 May.

However, reports suggest Swift wonders why she’s not looking to settle and thinks the case shouldn’t have been dragged on for this long.

“No one understands why Blake isn’t trying to settle,” the source said. “From the outside, it looks like she’s already lost.”

The insider went further to explain that the Grammy winner doesn’t want to have anything to do with the case as her summer wedding to Kansas City Chiefs star, Travis Kelce, draws near.

“She wants this wrapped up before her summer wedding,” they shared. “The timing couldn’t be worse.”

Taylor Swift’s Messages With Blake Lively Were Unsealed

Back in January, Swift’s private texts with Lively were unsealed, seemingly confirming Baldoni’s claims that the actress tried to use her celebrity power and contacts to pressure him into accepting the changes she made to the “It Ends With Us” script.

In one text exchange, Lively asked the “Bad Blood” singer to endorse a script she came up with for the film “even without having read it,” Baldoni’s legal team claimed, per People Magazine. Swift then allegedly replied, “I’ll do anything for you !!”

However, Lively’s team said the text lacked context and pointed to her deposition in which the actress said she “sent Taylor the script on her way to my apartment because Justin was still there, and I asked her to read them. I told her she didn’t have to, I didn’t want her to feel pressured to do that, but I hoped that she would.”

The Former Pals Berated Justin Baldoni In A Text Exchange, Branding The Director A ‘Clown’

In another text exchange that was exposed, Lively referred to Baldoni as a “clown” and a “doofus,” while Swift allegedly called him a “b-tch.”

The insider who spoke to Shuter explained that things have now changed between the former close pals, as the fallout has been real.

“Taylor has nothing to do with this. She was supporting a friend — that’s it,” the insider said. “This has affected people around Blake, and some feel she didn’t fully consider that.”

“There’s a sense this didn’t need to go this far,” they added. “That ego took over.”

Taylor Swift Likely Won’t Invite Blake Lively To Her Wedding

Meanwhile, Swift is reportedly lurking and observing how things go from here as she doesn’t want to be involved in the case again, at least not until things are completely over.

A source told Shuter that she’s “watching everything” closely because “the last thing she wants is her name or her texts dragged into this again.”

Insiders have previously called attention to the sour state of their relationship after it was revealed that the “Another Simple Favor” actress and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, won’t be invited to Swift’s summer wedding to Kelce.

“They are not invited. Period,” a source claimed. “Taylor wants a drama-free day, and she no longer trusts Blake or Ryan.”

Another insider shared at the time that Swift concluded a long time ago on not inviting the couple, adding that she felt “exposed and violated.”

“There’s been an emotional gap for a long time,” the source added. “Rebuilding trust doesn’t feel possible right now.”
