Denzel Washington’s 3-Part Action Masterpiece Officially Finds a New Streaming Home

Published

on

the-equalizer-2-poster.jpg

It’s funny. One of the very few actors out there who you wouldn’t consider to be a “franchise guy” is probably Denzel Washington. That’s why this selection of films is such an intriguing choice for one of Hollywood’s most iconic figures. The reason for that boils down to the fact that, by the time he took on the role, he was an actual superstar, an Oscar winner, and a man who could pick any role he wanted. He truly did not seem like the kind of man who would play a cab driving vigilante. And yet, here we are.

The Equalizer, The Equalizer 2, and The Equalizer 3 will begin streaming on HBO Max on July 1, with all three films reuniting Washington with director Antoine Fuqua, who helped turn the former TV series into a bone-breaking franchise built around Robert McCall’s particular set of skills. In all three movies, Washington stars as McCall, a retired government operative who’s desperate to live a quiet life before he finds himself repeatedly drawn into violence with gangsters, corrupt officials and those whose suffering at the hands of these thugs require “equalizing”. Yes, the movies all follow a familiar pattern but goodness, they’re effective.

The first movie arrived in 2014 and introduced McCall as a man who just wanted to drink his tea and read Moby Dick in peace before he ends up determined to help a young woman caught up with the Russian mafia. The Equalizer 2 followed in 2018, sending McCall on a far more personal mission after someone close to him is murdered. The trilogy concluded for the time being, with The Equalizer 3 in 2023. The final film found McCall living in southern Italy, where he becomes involved in a battle against a local crime family.

Your Fate Has Been Calculated
You’d Survive In…

Your answers point to the world your instincts were built for. This is the universe your temperament, your survival instincts, and your particular brand of stubbornness were made for.

The Resistance, Zion

The Matrix

You took the red pill a long time ago — probably before anyone offered it to you. You’re a systems thinker who can’t help but notice the seams in things.

  • You’re drawn to understanding how the system works before figuring out how to break it.
  • You’d find the Resistance, or it would find you — your instinct for spotting constructed realities is the machines’ worst nightmare.
  • You function best when you have access to information and the freedom to act on it.
  • The Matrix built an airtight prison. You’d be the one probing the walls for the door.

The Wasteland

Mad Max

The wasteland doesn’t reward the clever or the well-connected — it rewards those who are hard to kill and harder to break. That’s you.

  • You don’t need comfort, community, or a cause larger than the next horizon.
  • You need a vehicle, a clear threat, and enough fuel to outrun it — and you’re good at all three.
  • You are unsentimental enough to survive that world, and decent enough — just barely — to be something more than another raider.
  • In the wasteland, that distinction is everything.

Los Angeles, 2049

Blade Runner

You’d survive here because you know how to exist in moral grey areas without losing yourself completely.

  • You read people accurately, keep your circle small, and ask the questions others prefer not to answer.
  • In a city where humanity is a legal designation rather than a feeling, you hold onto something that keeps you functional.
  • You’re not a hero. But you’re not lost, either.
  • In Blade Runner’s world, that distinction is everything.

Arrakis

Dune

Arrakis is the most hostile environment in the known universe — and you are precisely the kind of person it rewards.

  • Patience, discipline, and political awareness are your core strengths — and on Arrakis, they’re survival tools.
  • You understand that the long game matters more than any single victory.
  • Others come to Dune and are consumed by it. You’d learn its logic and earn its respect.
  • In time, you wouldn’t just survive Arrakis — you’d begin to reshape it.

A Galaxy Far, Far Away

Star Wars

The galaxy far, far away is vast, loud, and in a constant state of violent political upheaval — and you wouldn’t have it any other way.

  • You find meaning in being part of something larger than yourself — a cause, a crew, a rebellion.
  • You’d gravitate toward the Rebellion, or the fringes, or whatever pocket of the galaxy still believes the Empire’s grip can be broken.
  • You fight — not because you have to, but because standing aside isn’t something you’re capable of.
  • In Star Wars, that willingness is what makes all the difference.

One of the Greatest Westerns of the 21st Century Will Finally Be Free To Watch This Week

Published

on

Matt Damon as Texas Ranger LaBoeuf looking to the distance in the film True Grit

A host of classic Westerns are heading to Pluto TV soon in celebration of America’s 250th anniversary. Among these movies are the landmark titles High Noon, The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, and Once Upon a Time in the West. There is, however, also room for a more contemporary Western gem. The movie in question often ranks among the genre’s best examples of the last two decades, along with Quentin Tarantino‘s Django Unchained and perhaps a couple of other titles. Westerns had a bit of a rough run in the 1990s and after the turn of the century, but the genre is witnessing a resurgence thanks, in part, to the success of Taylor Sheridan‘s sprawling work on television. Sheridan’s run began in the mid-2000s, a few years after the Coen Brothers delivered the critical and commercial hit True Grit.

They made it a point to tell audiences that the movie was an adaptation of Charles Portis‘ novel, and not a remake of the 1969 movie starring John Wayne. Their version was headlined by Jeff Bridges as the alcoholic lawman Rooster Cogburn, who agrees to track down a murderer for a teenage girl named Mattie Ross, played by Hailee Steinfeld in a career-defining debut performance. They were joined by Matt Damon, who played the memorable Texas ranger LaBoeuf, and Josh Brolin as the murderer. True Grit opened to excellent reviews and received 10 nominations at the Oscars, including in the Best Picture category. Bridges and Steinfeld also earned nods for their performances.

Which Taylor Sheridan
Show Do You Belong In?

Yellowstone · Landman · Tulsa King · Mayor of Kingstown

Four worlds. All of them brutal, complicated, and built on power, loyalty, and the price of survival. Taylor Sheridan doesn’t write heroes — he writes people who do what they have to do and live with the cost. Ten questions will reveal which one of his worlds you were made for.

01

Where does your power come from?
In Sheridan’s world, everyone has leverage. The question is what kind.

02

Who do you put first, no matter what?
Loyalty in Sheridan’s universe is always absolute — and always costly.

03

Someone crosses a line. How do you respond?
Every Sheridan protagonist has a line. What matters is what happens after it’s crossed.

04

Where do you feel most in your element?
Sheridan’s worlds are as much about place as they are about people.

05

How do you feel about operating in the grey?
Nobody in a Sheridan show has clean hands. The question is how they carry the dirt.

06

What are you actually fighting to hold onto?
Every Sheridan character is fighting a war. The real question is what they’re defending.

07

How do you lead?
Authority in Sheridan’s world is never given — it’s established, maintained, and constantly tested.

08

Someone new arrives and tries to change how things work. Your reaction?
Every Sheridan show has an outsider disrupting an established order. Sometimes that outsider is you.

09

What has your position cost you?
Nobody gets to where these characters are without paying for it. The bill is always personal.

10

When it’s over, what do you want people to say?
Sheridan’s characters all know the ending is coming. The question is what they leave behind.

👑
Tulsa King

⚖️
Mayor of Kingstown

You are a Dutton — or you might as well be. You understand that some things are worth protecting at any cost, and that the modern world’s indifference to history, to land, to legacy, is not something you’re willing to accept quietly. You lead from the front, you carry your family’s weight without complaint, and when someone threatens what’s yours, you don’t escalate — you finish it. You’re not cruel. But you are absolute. In Yellowstone’s world, that combination of ferocity and loyalty doesn’t make you a villain. It makes you the only thing standing between everything that matters and everyone who wants to take it.

You thrive in the chaos of high-stakes negotiation, where the money is enormous, the margins are thin, and the wrong word in the wrong room can cost everyone everything. You’re a fixer — the person called when a situation is already on fire and needs someone with the nerve to walk into it. West Texas oil country rewards exactly what you are: sharp, adaptable, unsentimental, and absolutely clear-eyed about what people want and what they’ll do to get it. You’re not naive enough to think this world is fair. You’re smart enough to be the one deciding who it’s fair to.

You are a Dwight Manfredi — someone who has served their time, paid their dues, and arrived somewhere unexpected with nothing but their reputation and their wits. You adapt without losing yourself. You build loyalty through respect rather than fear, though you’re not above reminding people that the two aren’t mutually exclusive. Tulsa King is for people who are still standing when everyone assumed they’d be finished — who find, in an unfamiliar place, that they’re more capable than the world gave them credit for. You don’t need a throne. You build one, wherever you happen to land.

You carry the weight of a system that is broken by design, and you do it anyway — because someone has to, and because you’re the only one positioned to do it without the whole thing collapsing. Mike McLusky’s world is for people who are comfortable operating where there are no good options, only less catastrophic ones. You speak every language: law enforcement, criminal, political, human. That fluency makes you invaluable and it makes you a target. You’ve made your peace with both. Mayor of Kingstown belongs to people who understand that keeping the peace is not the same as being at peace — and who do the job regardless.

When To Watch ‘True Grit’ for Free

The movie now holds a “Certified Fresh” 95% score on the aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes, where the consensus reads, “Girded by strong performances from Jeff Bridges, Matt Damon, and newcomer Hailee Steinfeld, and lifted by some of the Coens’ most finely tuned, unaffected work, True Grit is a worthy companion to the Charles Portis book.” True Grit was also a major box-office success, grossing more than $250 million worldwide against a reported budget of $35 million. Only a few years later, Bridges starred in the Sheridan-penned neo-Western Hell or High Water, which earned him another Oscar nomination. True Grit will be made available to stream for free on the Pluto TV service in July. Stay tuned to Collider for more updates.

The Wait Is Almost Over for Disney’s Biggest Summer Blockbuster

Published

on

The Walt Disney Pictures logo

Disney’s live-action remakes have been struck by a bout of declining returns, and the pressure is on for the studio’s upcoming movie to perform. If there were a safer bet, this would be it. However, there’s no telling how audiences will react to what they’re presented with next month. In the last few years, Disney has seen its pipeline of live-action remakes be infected by poisonous rhetoric, usually surrounding themes and casting choices. While the Alice in Wonderland and Beauty and the Beast remakes were able to gross more than $1 billion each at the global box office, the more recent The Little Mermaid and Snow White remakes weren’t as successful. The latter movie grossed just over $200 million worldwide against a reported budget of $336 million.

Now it’s the turn of Disney’s live-action Moana remake to steady the ship. The movie comes only a decade after the original animated release scored terrific reviews and grossed nearly $700 million worldwide. Featuring Dwayne Johnson and Auli’i Cravalho, the original Moana was nominated in the Best Animated Feature category at the Oscars, and now holds a “Certified Fresh” 95% score on Rotten Tomatoes. The aggregator website’s consensus reads, “With a title character as three-dimensional as its lush animation and a story that adds fresh depth to Disney’s time-tested formula, Moana is truly a family-friendly adventure for the ages.”

  • You understand that responsibility isn’t a burden you choose — it’s one that finds you.
  • Whether it’s a neighbourhood mugging or a multiverse crisis, you show up.
  • Peter Parker’s lesson — that great power demands great responsibility — isn’t a slogan to you. It’s the code you live by, even when it costs you everything.

You fight in the shadows between law and chaos, guided by a fierce moral compass that refuses to let the guilty walk free.

  • You use every tool available — your mind, your body, your faith — to protect those the system overlooks.
  • You’ve looked into the darkness and chosen not to become it, though the line has never been easy.

Brilliant, driven, and occasionally insufferable — but always the person who solves the unsolvable problem.

  • You don’t ask for forgiveness, and you don’t expect gratitude.
  • You see a corrupt, broken world and you’ve decided to do something about it, consequences be damned.
  • Frank Castle’s war is born from love twisted by loss — and so is yours.
  • Uncompromising and unflinching — the world may not agree with your methods, but your conviction is absolute.

Asgard · Protector of the Nine Realms

⚡ Thor

Powerful, proud, and on a lifelong journey to become worthy of the legend you carry.

  • You lead with strength but have learned — sometimes painfully — that true greatness comes from humility and growth.
  • You’re larger than life, yet more vulnerable than you let on.
  • Thor’s story is one of transformation: from arrogant prince to worthy king, from isolated warrior to beloved protector.
  • You bring the storm when it’s needed — and the warmth when it matters just as much.

Brooklyn, New York · The Avengers

🛡️ Captain America

You believe in something bigger than yourself — and you fight for it even when the world has moved on and nobody else will.

  • You don’t bully the small guy, and you never stop when it gets hard.
  • Steve Rogers didn’t become a hero when he got the serum — he was always one. So were you.
  • Your strength isn’t in your fists; it’s in your refusal to compromise what’s right, no matter the cost.
  • In a world full of people taking the easy road, you’re the one who picks up the shield and stands up — every single time.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have reportedly made big plans to get married at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

However, the power couple is said to have been initially interested in having a coastal wedding in Rhode Island, which was set for June 13, before having to change plans.

Now, insiders are revealing the real reason behind their pivot, as Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s new wedding day, July 3, draws near.

Sources shared with Us Weekly that Swift and Kelce had to ditch plans to get married in Rhode Island due to security concerns.

According to the news outlet, the duo had fallen in love with the environment and wanted a coastal wedding. But due to the scale of the ceremony they had in mind, and media attention, they had to pivot to MSG.

“Taylor and Travis really wanted their wedding in Rhode Island, and June 13 was the date, but security wouldn’t have worked because it could get out of hand with that kind of scale of an event,” an insider says.

“Taylor and Travis really wanted their wedding in Rhode Island, and June 13 was the date, but security wouldn’t have worked because it could get out of hand with that kind of scale of an event,” an insider told the publication.

The source further noted that although Swift initially planned the event in Rhode Island, where she owns a mansion in Westerly’s Watch Hill neighborhood, she ultimately booked several alternative venues across the country for different dates.

“Ocean House [in Westerly] was planned at one point, and then plans changed to New York,” the insider said.

Speaking more about the couple’s wedding, the source shared that the nature of Rhode Island posed a security risk for Swift and Kelce.

“Rhode Island wasn’t great because the nature of the access and the perimeters were too difficult to secure,” the insider said. “So the main issue with Rhode Island ended up being security.”

They continued, “Everything was being planned in Rhode Island, and so many people wanted to come that plans had to change because it became bigger.”

With Rhode Island out of the picture, Swift and Kelce will reportedly be getting married at MSG, which the singer is said to have booked for July 2 to July 4, with her wedding date scheduled for July 3.

Although Swift and Kelce have yet to share details about their upcoming nuptials officially, there have been several hints that it is bound to happen at Madison Square Garden in early July.

One of the biggest hints came from the Mayor of New York City, Zohran Mamdani, who mentioned the couple’s wedding while speaking about keeping the city safe, especially amid ongoing events, like the World Cup.

He said, “I am fully confident in the work of the NYPD, as well as our state partners, in delivering that safe experience.”

“We are the biggest city in the country,” he continued. “We are used to big events, and we are incredibly excited for the [World Cup]. We know it coincides with the Knicks’ [NBA] Finals run. We know it coincides with July 4, America 250, Taylor Swift’s wedding — all happening at the same time — and we are so excited to welcome the world here.”

Another confirmation of Kelce and Swift’s upcoming nuptials came from San Francisco 49ers star George Kittle, who revealed he would be attending the couple’s wedding during an interview with ExtraTV.

Kittle, however, dropped a surprising detail about Swift and Kelce’s wedding by sharing that they asked their guests not to give them any gifts.

According to the football player, the couple said they want “absolutely no gifts,” but he has no intention of fulfilling their request as he intends to come with something “expensive.”

“I was thinking, Travis, for some reason, likes old coins,” Kittle told the media outlet. “So I might get him an old coin. Sounds expensive, too.”

Kittle also advised the lovebirds to “have so much fun with all your friends” on their wedding day.

Swift and Kelce’s NYC wedding at MSG has put them under severe scrutiny, especially from business owners who fear their activities would be disrupted by the upcoming ceremony.

Criticism of the couple’s nuptials escalated after it was revealed that they had requested permission to close streets around Madison Square Garden during their wedding period.

It led to a wave of backlash online, with many blasting the couple as “tacky” and accusing them of being “selfish” for not taking business owners in the area into consideration.

However, Swift and Kelce also received support from fans who noted that security was a major issue for the couple, and this would ensure there would be no disruptions on their big day.

Taylor Swift Biggest Hits At Risk After Shock Catalog Sale

Published

on

Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift is reportedly at risk of losing control of some of her hit songs following a major business move in the music industry.

A new publishing deal involving her longtime collaborators Max Martin and Shellback has raised questions about the future use of some songs connected to the pop star’s catalog.

The developments come as Taylor Swift prepares to tie the knot to NFL star Travis Kelce at Madison Square Garden.

Taylor Swift
AdMedia / MEGA

Taylor Swift’s music catalog is back in the spotlight following a major publishing deal involving longtime collaborators Max Martin and Shellback.

The acclaimed songwriting duo, along with their Wolf Cousins collective, recently entered a partnership with investment firm HarbourView Equity Partners, sparking questions about whether the arrangement could impact some of Swift’s most recognizable songs.

Entertainment attorney Bradfield Biggers told Page Six that the transaction does not appear to affect Swift’s ownership of her master recordings. However, depending on the exact rights included in the deal, HarbourView could gain influence over certain uses of compositions connected to Martin, Shellback, and other Wolf Cousins writers.

According to Biggers, this could become relevant in situations where permission is required for both a song’s recording and its underlying composition, such as film and television placements, advertising campaigns, social media projects, and other licensing opportunities.

Among the Swift tracks reportedly linked to the catalog acquisition are “Style” from her 2014 album “1989” and “…Ready for It?” from 2017’s “Reputation.” The deal does not reportedly cover every Swift song associated with Wolf Cousins.

HarbourView’s New Deal Connects Firm To Songs Tied To Taylor Swift

While Biggers stressed that HarbourView should not be viewed as part of Swift’s inner business circle, he noted that by “acquiring interests in songs that are closely tied to Swift’s catalog and cultural legacy, HarbourView is now economically connected to an important part of her ecosystem.”

As Swift’s influence and commercial value continue to grow, the songs included in the acquisition could become increasingly valuable assets.

Sources cited by Variety estimated the agreement was worth a low nine-figure sum, although HarbourView has not publicly disclosed financial details.

In a statement, HarbourView CEO Sherrese Clarke described Martin and Shellback as some of the most influential hitmakers in modern music, adding that Wolf Cousins has “built an extraordinary creative ecosystem spanning generations and genres.” He added: “We are proud to partner with them and help steward the legacy of this remarkable catalog.”

Founded in the 2010s by Martin and Shellback, Wolf Cousins includes a roster of prominent songwriters and producers, including Ilya Salmanzadeh, Oscar Holter, Tove Lo, and Ludvig Söderberg. The catalog reportedly features major hits recorded by artists such as Ariana Grande, The Weeknd, Imagine Dragons, Ellie Goulding, Tove Lo, and DNCE.

Taylor Swift Reflects On Emotional Victory After Buying Back Her Masters

The development comes years after Swift’s highly publicized battle over ownership of her early recordings.

Her first six studio albums were originally controlled by Big Machine Records before the label was sold to Scooter Braun in 2019. The “Shake It Off” artist publicly opposed the transaction, saying she was not given a fair opportunity to purchase her masters.

After Braun later sold those recordings to Shamrock Capital, Swift launched her “Taylor’s Version” re-recording project in an effort to regain control of her work.

In May 2025, the singer, who is said to be now worth $2 billion, announced that she had successfully reacquired ownership of her masters, calling the moment an emotional milestone in her career.

“I’ve been bursting into tears of joy at random intervals ever since I found that this is really happening,” she said at the time. “I really get to say those words. All of the music I’ve ever made … now belongs… to me.”

Meanwhile, Swift recently took time to honor one of her country music influences, Alan Jackson, during his farewell concert in Nashville.

In a pre-recorded video played during Jackson’s “Last Call: One More for the Road — The Finale” show on June 27, the mega popstar thanked the singer for his decades of songwriting and performances, praising the impact his music has had on generations of fans.

The pop superstar also singled out Jackson’s hit song “Drive” as her personal favorite, explaining that its vivid storytelling and personal details left a lasting impression on her as a young artist.

Swift said Jackson’s willingness to share pieces of his life through music helped shape her understanding of songwriting and the artist-fan connection.

She continued, “I appreciate you so much for the ways that you have treated me and other artists and writers with just such support and encouragement over the years, and I’m so excited for you doing this show, and just appreciate you so much. Love you!”

Amid reports about her music catalog, Swift seems to have more pressing matters at hand: her wedding to Kansas City Chiefs’ tight end, Travis Kelce.

The power couple, who have been dating for almost three years now, will reportedly tie the knot in New York City at Madison Square Garden.

According to news outlets, Swift and Kelce have already made moves to secure the venue for July 2 through July 4, with their wedding date expected to be on July 3.

While it has yet to be confirmed how the ceremony will play out at such a massive location, reports claim the pair might have a more secret and intimate wedding for themselves, before going on to celebrate their nuptials at MSG.

Swift and Kelce have also filed for permits to shut down streets around the garden, which has caused them to face heavy backlash from people online and small business owners.

Summer House” star KJ Dillard is using his voice for good. To close out Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month, the reality star has teamed up with Kenneth Cole as the face of the fashion brand’s Summer 2026 collection and the newest addition to the company’s “Purposeful Voices” series. Previous ambassadors have included Rachel Platten, Jay Shetty, Isabella Strahan, Malika Andrews, and Satchel Lee.

Dillard, a model, musician, and former professional skateboarder, has become the next face of Kenneth Cole’s Summer 2026 collection. In his role as an ambassador, the TV personality is hoping to spark meaningful conversations about a range of topics, including mental health, identity, and masculinity, according to a press release sent to The Blast.

In some of the photos received by The Blast, Dillard is styled in a curated selection that brings “the collection’s themes of authenticity, resilience, and individuality to life.” By partnering with Kenneth Cole, Dillard is using his voice to spread awareness and reflect on the importance of “speaking up, embracing personal growth, and using vulnerability as a source of strength to help others feel less alone.”

Speaking with Bravo’s Daily Dish, the “Summer House” star said that being part of Kenneth Cole’s new collection and joining the team as the next ambassador of the “Purposeful Voices” series is an honor.

“Being involved in this campaign means the world to me,” he said about the moment. “This type of career move speaks to my larger goals with my career in the entertainment industry by showing me that anything is possible if you set your mind to it.”

KJ Dillard Got Candid About His Partnership With Kenneth Cole Online

Online, Dillard shared snaps of some of his looks from the new collection and reflected on the line’s meaning in the caption.

“Representation matters. So do the conversations that happen behind it,” he said. “In the Purposeful Voices campaign with @kennethcole I reflect on my experience navigating life in the spotlight, becoming the first Black man on @summerhouse_bravo, and the mental health challenges I’ve faced along the way.”

During the “Summer House” reunion, Dillard spoke candidly with his co-stars and host Andy Cohen about his struggles with mental health and being diagnosed with borderline personality disorder.

Speaking with Ebony, the reality star reflected even further on that, saying, “ [Black people] hold so much in, and doing the work is hard. Looking in the mirror and saying to myself, ‘I have a lot of trauma,’ and being Black in America, we unintentionally take on things that we don’t realize. I had to dig deep to understand why my whole life, I’ve been running from myself. Why I hate myself. Why I’m not comfortable in my own skin,” he said.

“I got diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) while I was in the hospital.  Understanding what BPD is, it makes sense of my behavior. At the same time, it’s like a mix of everything. Men, especially, it doesn’t matter if you’re Black or not, they do not want to admit when they are not good,” he added.

As the conversation continued, Dillard told Cohen he was grateful for the support of his “Summer House” co-stars when he was in a dark place in his life.

“Everyone here has somewhat shown support in their own way, so I appreciate that,” Dillard said. “And I’m very thankful that the audience is just embracing that because it’s my truth, you know, and I’m not gonna not be honest about what I go through, especially if it can help others.”

Dillard Opens Up About His Career

KJ Dillard
Kenneth Cole

In a previous interview with Bravo, Dillard opened up about his growing career, saying, “A lot of the things I do are project-based with my job; I make music as well. So, it’s like, if I’m working on a single, an EP or album, or if I have anything modeling or skateboard-related that I’m working on at the time, it’s very project-based.”

Hugh Jackman’s New Detective Movie Is an Instant Streaming Hit

Published

on

the-sheep-detectives-poster.jpg

Most fans love Hugh Jackman for his iconic Wolverine portrayal, dramas like The Prestige, and his numerous action roles. But the actor also has some very wholesome movies under his belt — think Kate and Leopold, where he plays a man out of time in a rom-com, or Real Steel, where he plays an estranged father reconnecting with his son, or the acclaimed animated feature Flushed Away, where he voices a pet mouse, who gets accidentally flushed down the toilet.

Earlier this year, the actor came up with another beloved feature, The Sheep Detectives, where he plays a devoted shepherd, George Hardy, who reads cozy murder mysteries to his flock every night. Things take a turn when George is suddenly and mysteriously found dead. While the local authorities quickly write it off as a heart attack, George’s sheep suspect foul play. Putting on their detective wool or caps, they flock then takes it upon themselves to find the murderer.

Written by The Last of Us co-creator Craig Mazin and directed by Kyle Balda, The Sheep Detectives adapts Leonie Swann‘s 2005 international best-selling novel, Three Bags Full. It garnered love all around, becoming a commercial success, earning $126 million worldwide on a $75 million budget. Furthermore, the feature marks the highest-rated Hugh Jackman film, with 95% Rotten Tomatoes score from critics and a 96% score from fans.

You carry something heavy — and you carry it alone, even when you don’t have to. You were not born for greatness, and that is precisely why greatness chose you. Your courage is not the roaring, sword-swinging kind; it is quiet, stubborn, and terrifying in its refusal to quit. The Ring weighs on you more than anyone can see, and still you walk toward the fire. That is not weakness. That is the rarest kind of strength there is.

You are, without question, the best of them. Not the most powerful, not the most celebrated — but the most essential. Your loyalty is not a trait; it is a force of nature. You would carry the person you love up the slopes of Mount Doom if it came to that, and we both know you’d do it without being asked. The world needs more people like you, and the world is lucky it has even one.

You were born to lead, and you have spent years running from it. The crown is yours by right, but you know better than anyone that right means nothing without the will and the worthiness to back it up. You are tempered by loss, shaped by long roads, and defined by a code of honour you hold to even when no one is watching. When you finally step forward, the world shifts. Because it was always waiting for you.

You have seen more than you let on, and you say less than you know — which is exactly as it should be. You are a catalyst: you do not fight the battles yourself, you ignite the people who can. Your wisdom comes not from books but from an age of watching what happens when it is ignored. You arrive precisely when you mean to, and your presence alone changes what is possible. A wizard is never late.

Graceful, perceptive, and almost preternaturally calm under pressure — you see things others miss and act before others react. You do not need to make a scene to be remarkable; your presence speaks for itself. You are loyal to those you choose to stand beside, and that choice is not made lightly. You have lived long enough to know that the most beautiful things in this world are also the most fragile, and that is why you fight to protect them.

You are loud, proud, and absolutely formidable — and beneath all of that is one of the most fiercely loyal hearts in Middle-earth. You don’t do anything by half measures. Your friendships are forged like iron, your grudges run as deep as mines, and your courage in battle is the kind that makes legends. You came into this fellowship suspicious of everyone and ended it willing to die for an elf. That is not a small thing. That is everything.

You think in centuries and act in absolutes. Order, dominion, control — not because you are cruel by nature, but because you have decided that the world left to itself always falls apart, and you are the only one with the vision and the will to hold it together. You were not always this. Something was lost, or taken, or betrayed, and the version of you that stands now is the answer to that wound. The tragedy is that you’re not entirely wrong — just entirely too far gone to course-correct.

You are a study in contradiction — pitiable and dangerous, cunning and broken, capable of both cruelty and something that once resembled love. You are defined by loss: of innocence, of self, of the one thing that gave your existence meaning. Two voices war inside you constantly, and the tragedy is that the better one sometimes wins, just not often enough, and never at the right moment. You are a warning, yes — but also a mirror. We are all a little Gollum, given the right ring and enough time.

‘The Sheep Detectives’ Is an Instant Streaming Hit

Now, spreading its magic on streaming, The Sheep Detectives has become the #1 movie on Prime Video‘s global charts in just one day, as per FlixPatrol. Along with a thrilling premise, the movie has an extensive cast. Jackman is joined by Nicholas Braun as the bumbling local cop, Emma Thompson as a sharp, big-city solicitor, and Molly Gordon as George’s long-lost daughter. The voice cast is even more excellent, with Julia Louis-Dreyfus voicing the lead investigator sheep, named Lily.

The flock also includes talent powerhouses like Regina Hall as the diva Cloud, Chris O’Dowd as the patient Mopple, while Bryan Cranston voices the stoic ram Sebastian, and Patrick Stewart as Sir Ritchfield. While Jackman isn’t in the movie for long, he does a lot of emotional heavy lifting while the sheep solve the case. Collider’s Tania Hussain called the feature one of the year’s “most delightful surprises”, noting, “The Sheep Detectives is a charming, smart, and sincerely heartfelt whodunit that proves even the smallest voices can carry the biggest stories.”

‘Law and Order’s Christopher Meloni Is Ready To Return as TV’s Best Detective [Exclusive]

Published

on

03170363_poster_w780.jpg

It has been 2 months since the devastating news that Law & Order: Organized Crime would not be returning for Season 6, leaving the future of franchise fan-favorite Christopher Meloni‘s Elliot Stabler in limbo. It is no doubt disappointing for fans of the long-running crime franchise, though the good news is that the flagship Law & Order and its incredibly popular sibling series (as well as the one where Stabler originates), Law & Order: SVU, will both be returning for new seasons this fall. Naturally, questions have arisen whether or not Meloni could reunite with his longtime partner Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) following his brief return in Season 27’s premiere episode.

While attending the 31st annual Palm Springs ShortFest, I had the opportunity to chat with not only Christopher Meloni, but also his daughter, director Sophia Meloni, as well as actors Luca Rickman and Mark Lake, for their new short film Chop Cheese – a brilliantly edited and directed short film that’s an easy must-watch. Eventually, the topic of Law & Order came up, and when asked if we might see more of Elliot Stabler, Meloni understandably responded with a long pause and a cheeky grin before saying, “It’s an unanswerable question. I don’t make those decisions.” Neither a confirmation nor a denial that Stabler’s story is over yet, but Meloni also shared his thoughts on reprising another crime-fighting character.

In addition to playing one of the Law & Order world’s most beloved characters, Christopher Meloni has also been a part of the DC Comics universe. Not only did he play Colonel Nathan Hardy in Zack Snyder‘s Man of Steel, but he also voices a much more comedic version of Commissioner Gordon in the Batman villain satire Harley Quinn. When asked if he would ever reprise the character in a live-action setting, Meloni responded with a resounding “Absolutely,” saying he “loved how insane he was” in that particular adaptation of the character.

Of course, Jeffrey Wright, is returning to play a much grittier Commissioner Gordon in The Batman: Part II, but that continuity is currently considered an “Elseworlds” storyline and will not tie into James Gunn and Peter Safran‘s wider DCU that currently consists of Creature Commandos, Superman, Peacemaker, and Supergirl. Instead, Batman’s first solo adventure will come in The Brave and the Bold, which presumably will have an entirely different take on Batman’s GCPD companion.

Collider Exclusive · Taylor Sheridan Universe Quiz

Tulsa King

What Is ‘Chop Cheese’ About?

A “coming of age” story based on Sophia Meloni’s brother, Chop Cheese follows a young man named Dante (Rickman, who previously worked with Christopher Meloni on Organized Crime), as he becomes fascinated by the local bodega cook (Lake) and his famous chop cheese sandwich. As seen in the clip above, the film also features a performance from Warfare and Daredevil: Born Again star Michael Gandolfini, who, according to Sophia Meloni, ended up joining at the last minute:

“Michael is my best friend and has been since childhood, and I was telling him about this short and there was no part for him. He was like ‘I love it so much, let me know how I can be a part of it. I can come and I can help load gear, I can help do whatever you need,’ and I was like ‘Do you wanna be in it?’ and he was like ‘Yeah sure!’ So then I went home and I wrote him a part.”

Chop Cheese recently held its world premiere at the 2026 Palm Springs ShortFest. Check out the hilarious clip from the new short above and images from the project below.

Love Island USA’s Alannah Keyser Breaks Silence After Removal

Feature Love Island USA Bombshell Alannah Keyser Dad Slams Racism Claims

Love Island USA bombshell Alannah Keyser is speaking out after she was removed from the show over a racism scandal.

“Hi everyone, I’m coming on here to address some things that have been circulated online. I do want to begin by addressing the video of me singing along to a Roddy Ricch song that contains a racial slur. I’m sorry to whoever has seen that video and has been offended by it. That was never my intention,” Alannah said in a Saturday, June 27, TikTok. “The video is from six years ago and that word is just not in my vocabulary anymore.”

She continued, “I’d also like to address the screenshots that have been going around online that have been falsified. What has been shared does not reflect the truth and it has never been in my character to discriminate against anybody’s skin color. I do want to say directly that I do not support racism or discrimination of any kind and I never have.”

Alannah explained that when she first learned she was making headlines over the scandal, it “really broke [her] heart” and alleged that she “couldn’t do anything about it.”

“But this has definitely been a learning lesson for me. And it sucks that I didn’t get a chance to really show my personality and who I am,” she concluded.

The clip then stopped, with Alannah writing, “The video cut but it’s always been in my nature to spread positivity and help others & I will continue to do so.”

She captioned the post, “Remember that reality tv is HEAVILY edited & my chats/kisses with the other boys were unfortunately not aired.”

Peacock confirmed Alannah’s exit from the show during the Thursday, June 25, episode. The video and posts that circulated online were not made public until after Alannah appeared on the show, meaning that they were not accessible during the show’s pre-filming vetting process.

13 Chic Flip-Flops for 2026 — From $5

1. Bestseller Alert: With yoga-mat footbeds, these crowd-loved flip-flops feel nothing like the rubber ones in your beach bag. The ribbon straps make them dressy enough for dinner.

2. Quiet Luxury: Thin, barely-there straps give Project Cloud’s minimalist sandals a mega expensive look, no four-figure receipt needed. Despite being just $20, they pass for designer.

3. Plantar Fasciitis: Plantar fasciitis usually means choosing between comfort and style, but these orthotic flops refuse the trade. The sculpted footbed eases heel pain, while the rhinestones make them feel fancy and special.

4. Lilly Pulitzer: Resortwear calls for fun colors and, in this case, a passion fruit print. This vibrant pair goes with every white piece in your suitcase.

5. Weirdly Cute: Crocs went square-toe and flat with these Miami flip-flops, and the result is genuinely chic. It delivers the brand’s iconic comfort, but with a dialed-down silhouette and none of the clog energy.

6. Jelly Trend: Jellies are back, and these waterproof wonders nail the updated trend, featuring a modern shape, solid color and translucent finish.

7. Silver Stunner: Metallic silver straps give these $17 flip-flops more polish than the price suggests. The shiny finish somehow reads neutral, pairing well with everything from white jeans to a colorful maxi.

8. Tory Burch: Thanks to the ultra-padded footbed, the Kira flip-flops stay on rotation all summer. They cushion like sneakers and feel like the high-end sandals they are.

9. A Little Lift: A mini heel, square toe and a punchy color make these $20 sandals appear more sophisticated than your usual flip-flops. Plus, the mini lift effortlessly elongates your legs.

10. Celeb Magnet: Stars like Jennifer Aniston and Jennifer Lopez wear these leather Tkees, so don’t just take our word for it. With over a dozen colors to pick from, you might have a hard time choosing.

11. Sass for All: Snake print on simple thong sandals gives this tried-and-true shoe trend so much personality. Even better, you can grab this slip-on design in sizes up to 14!

12. Jet-Setter: Long travel days call for Reef’s slim sandals. They slide off at security in seconds, and the cushioned footbed keeps your feet happy through terminal hikes.

13. Go for Gold: Black flip-flops disappear under everything. These classic Havaianas have a rose-gold finish that makes every outfit look classy — even a tee and jeans.

On Saturday, Collin reposted a social media graphic highlighting recent reports about his memoir. The post featured a headline that read, “Kate Gosselin ‘spiraling’ ahead of estranged son Collin’s bombshell memoir: ‘She knows it’s about to hit the fan.’”

However, it wasn’t the headline that caught fans’ attention. Collin noticeably blurred out Kate’s face in the image before sharing it to his Instagram Stories. He also included a fan comment that read, “What’s done in darkness will always come to light.”

Adding to the tone, Collin paired the post with Hans Zimmer’s “Day One,” a track from Christopher Nolan’s 2014 film “Interstellar.” The combination of the blurred image, cryptic message, and cinematic soundtrack quickly fueled speculation that Collin was intentionally signaling that he intends to move forward with the memoir despite any criticism or backlash.

Collin’s post arrived shortly after reports surfaced claiming Kate was blindsided by news of the memoir.

According to the Daily Mail, sources alleged the former “Jon & Kate Plus 8” star had no idea her son was planning to release a book detailing his childhood experiences. “She didn’t expect any of this to ever come out. Now she’s spiraling because she knows it’s about to hit the fan,” a source told the outlet.

The insider further claimed that Kate disputes many of the allegations Collin intends to make in the memoir and believes his version of events is inaccurate. The source also suggested that Collin’s siblings, including his sextuplet brothers and sisters as well as his twin sisters, may be surprised by some of the claims contained in the book.

Collin Says The Memoir Is About More Than Reality Television

While details about “In the Shadow of Eight” remain largely under wraps, Collin has been vocal about why he decided to write the book.

Announcing the project earlier this month, he explained that the memoir is intended to share the story from his perspective after years of public scrutiny. “This isn’t the story people think they know. It’s the story I’ve lived,” he wrote.

Collin also stressed that the memoir was not created simply to generate headlines or revisit reality television drama. “It is a story to instill responsibility in everyone to advocate and speak up against abuse, injustice, and the exploitation of children,” he continued.

The 22-year-old said he hopes the book will resonate with others who have experienced difficult childhoods and felt powerless to speak out. “I not only poured my heart into this book for my younger self, but for ALL who have faced unfair and outright heinous acts as children,” he wrote. “I am your voice. I stand with you.”

The upcoming memoir marks the latest development in the long-running rift between Collin and his mother. The fractured relationship has played out publicly for years, beginning when Collin was placed in a facility as a teenager.

In 2018, Jon Gosselin was awarded custody of his son after Kate lost sole custody. Since then, Collin has repeatedly spoken about the challenges he faced growing up in one of reality television’s most recognizable families. Reports indicate that he and Kate have remained estranged, with little to no communication between them in recent years.

Collin has also spoken publicly about being placed in a mental health facility when he was 11 years old after receiving diagnoses that reportedly included autism, ADHD, and bipolar disorder. The experience has become one of the most controversial aspects of the family’s ongoing dispute, with Collin alleging that he was unfairly treated during his childhood.

Kate, however, has consistently defended the decision, maintaining that it was made out of concern for both Collin’s well-being and the safety of their family. “My son Collin, whom I love with all my heart, has received multiple psychiatric diagnoses over the years,” Kate said in a statement at the time.

“For the safety of myself, his brothers and sisters and for his own well-being, he was placed in a facility following years of outpatient treatment which proved insufficient for his needs,” she added.

Now, with “In the Shadow of Eight: Surviving the Reality of My Childhood” set for release, Collin appears determined to finally tell his story on his own terms. And judging by his latest social media activity, he has no plans to stay silent.
