Lewis Hamilton and Kim Kardashian were spotted strolling along a street in Tokyo on Sunday, and fans on the internet are losing it.
Rumors of a romantic fling between the pair first emerged in February 2026, but despite a growing body of evidence, both have remained tight-lipped about any potential involvement.
Hamilton, in particular, is said to have been dismissive when asked whether they are in a relationship.
The Formula 1 legend was in Tokyo ahead of the 2026 Japan Grand Prix, following a strong showing in China.
Clips and images of Hamilton and Kardashian began circulating on social media on Sunday morning, triggering a wave of confused and divided reactions.
For many, the vague public status of their relationship remains a point of frustration.
“Lewis Hamilton and Kim Kardashian in Tokyo together?? What is going on?” one user wrote on X.
“Is this real life or a movie promo? Tokyo glow up with LH and Kim vibes is wild,” another user added.
Others were more critical, with some comments focusing on Kardashian’s appearance and public image.
“I feel like nobody cares about Kim Kardashian anymore or is that just me?” one comment on Reddit read. “She just doesn’t seem to generate the same amount of buzz she did even just like five years ago.”

Hamilton is no stranger to dating fellow high-profile celebrities, having most notably been involved with Nicole Scherzinger in the early 2010s.
If he and Kardashian ultimately confirm they are dating, it would not only continue that trend but also further elevate the profile of partners linked to the current crop of F1 stars.
Max Verstappen, for example, has been in a long-term relationship with Kelly Piquet since 2020.
Piquet is a model by profession, but she is also the daughter of F1 legend Nelson Piquet.
Another Formula 1 star in a high-profile relationship is Charles Leclerc, who recently married longtime partner Alexandra Saint Mleux in a private ceremony in Monaco.

Hamilton has been in Asia this month attempting to strengthen his chances of winning an eighth world championship, which would also be his first since 2020.
At the 2026 Chinese Grand Prix held on March 16 in Shanghai, Hamilton finished third for Ferrari. Kimi Antonelli won the race, while George Russell finished second.
Despite his extensive experience, Hamilton described the race as the finest of his career to date.
“I think it’s the best racing that I’ve ever experienced in Formula 1,” he said in his post-race press conference.
The next round of the championship is the 2026 Japanese Grand Prix, which takes place in Suzuka, roughly three hours away from Tokyo by bullet train.

While Hamilton and Kardashian continue to be seen together, adding fuel to ongoing dating rumors, the British driver’s mother is said to be unimpressed with the pairing.
According to a report by In Touch, Hamilton’s mum, Carmen Larbalestier, is not believed to be supportive of a potential relationship between the two.
“From Carmen’s perspective, the Kardashian lifestyle isn’t something that really meshes with her son’s personality long-term,” a source close to the family reportedly told the magazine.
Instead, Larbalestier is said to prefer a more understated partner for her son.
“She feels he’d be better off partnered with someone that’s much more low-key and private,” the source added.

Hamilton and Kardashian certainly caught attention at the 2026 Super Bowl, where they were spotted sitting next to each other.
In fact, The Blast reported about a lip reader who asserted that, during the course of the game, the rumored lovebirds were talking about meeting Hamilton’s mother.
The motorsport star was reportedly asked in the written press whether he enjoyed Kardashian’s company more than the game.
“It’s my private life, I’m not going to talk about it,” Hamilton is said to have retorted.
In July 2025, he had hinted to RTBF that he was prioritizing his career over love.
“I’ve made a different choice,” Hamilton said. “I’ve decided to maximize the time I have here because it’s shorter than you think.”

Spring is the perfect time to refresh your wardrobe. You know what they say: Out with the old and in with the new! This year, I’m prioritizing the wearable fashion trends that will level up my style. I’m obsessed with the trends I saw on New York Fashion Week runways that are actually attainable, like bold colors, romantic silhouettes and (my favorite) peplum tops.
The good news is there are plenty more trends to discover beyond these must-have styles. Keep reading for the top six spring fashion trends — along with items to shop the style from Abercrombie & Fitch, Topshop, Reformation, Amazon and more. With prices starting as low as $8, you can easily be the coolest person in your friend group . . . without spending a fortune.
1. Color-Block Cardigan: Vibrant, happy colors signify spring is coming. Not only will you feel unending joy when you wear this pink and orange cardigan, but everyone around you will, too!
2. Tropical Vibes: Summer is right around the corner, and you’ll be able to wear this stunning floral-print skirt through the spring . . . and into the next season.
3. Pop of Color: Ease into a bright hue by wearing these pretty pink ballet flats. They’ll liven any outfit and put a little pep in your step.
4. Floral Details: The intricate embroidered flowers on this leather jacket are an unexpected addition that matches the vibes of springtime!
5. Unexpected Color: Black leather jackets inherently give off fall vibes. If you’re looking for something more suitable for spring, opt for a lighter hue, like this modern turquoise design.
6. Elegance at Its Finest: I can picture the wealthy Upper East Side moms wearing this mint green leather jacket, which has jewelry-esque gold buttons. It’s also steeply discounted at 68% off.
7. So Intricate: With all of the floral-lace appliqués, this whimsical garden-inspired tank top should be much more expensive than it is. It’s a total steal!
8. The Perfect Combo: I don’t think there’s anything more romantic than a silky slip dress that’s lined with dainty lace. This Reformation style was made for springtime date nights.
9. Peek-a-Boo: Show a little skin in this head-turning off-the-shoulder velvet and mesh body suit that reminds me of Margot Robbie in Wuthering Heights.
10. Comfortable and Functional: Quince takes the utility trend to new heights with this twill shirt dress that’s reminiscent of army uniforms. The feminine twist is the full, breezy skirt.
11. Ditch the Trench: Say goodbye to your trusty trench coat this spring. Utility jackets are coming for them, and this lightweight style is ideal for all types of weather.
12. The Main Attraction: Pockets are often an after thought, but they’re actually the focal point of these utility pants. The unique placement and slanted style makes them a functional built-in accessory.
13. The Shirt You’ll See Everywhere: This chic top, which feels professional thanks to the collared button-down style and pinstripes, gets elevated with a figure-flattering peplum. Wear it to the office, brunch and beyond!
14. ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’ in 2026: A cropped denim jacket with a pretty peplum hem? Sign Us up. This style features golden floral buttons and a figure-hugging silhouette that everyone will notice.
15. Party in the Back: The sleek and sophisticated top offers plenty of versatility with a sweet peplum design in the front and a largely exposed back. So fun!
16. Simple Fringe: The rustic design element isn’t reserved for Coachella. The fringe sleeves on this sweater tank prove your work wear can have some personality, too.
17. Wild Spring: You’re not in the Wild West anymore. Turn your cowboy dreams into high fashion with this fringed jacket that looks like it came straight from the runway.
18. Accessorize to the Max: The best way to ease into the most daring trends is through your accessories. You’ll quickly fall in love with fringe when you carry this oversized suede shoulder bag around.
Brenda Song and her family’s recent travel plans were affected by alleged airline drama.
“I didn’t know when you book your first class tickets six months in [advance] for your family of six for your son’s birthday, @alaskaair can just give away your seats the morning of with no warning,” Song, 37, claimed via her Instagram Stories Saturday, March 22, alleging that the airline split up the group’s seats.
Song and longtime partner Macaulay Culkin share sons Dakota, 4, and Carson, 3.
“We will never fly @alaskaair again,” Song stated. “And neither should you.”
Culkin, 45, for his part, reposted Song’s takedown of the airline onto his Stories, adding, “Hell hath no fury like a Brenda scorned.”
Alaska Airlines addressed the incident in a statement shared with Us Weekly.
“The experience these guests had today was unacceptable and not reflective of the care we strive to deliver. We have reached out to the family to make it right,” a rep for the airline told Us. “Traveling can be stressful, especially with young children, and we pride ourselves on being a top airline for traveling families. We are deeply sorry for adding friction to the experience. We appreciate that guests have a choice in the airline they select and we take our responsibility to deliver a safe, reliable, and caring experience every single time. “
Culkin and Song have been together since 2017.
“You’re absolutely everything. You’re my champion,” Culkin gushed of the Running Point actress during his Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony in December 2023. “You’re the only person happier for me today than I am. You’re not only the best woman I’ve known, you’re the best person I’ve ever known.”

He continued, “You’ve given me all my purpose, you’ve given me family. And after the birth of our two boys, you’ve become one of my three favorite people. You’re somewhere in there. I love you so much.”
While Culkin proposed to Song in 2022, they haven’t been in a rush to tie the knot.
“We talked about eloping,” Song told Cosmopolitan in a rare joint interview with Culkin in January 2025. “But, I was, like, ‘If we eloped, my mom would have a heart attack that she wasn’t going to be there.’”
According to Culkin, he wouldn’t dream of disappointing his future mother-in-law.
“I wouldn’t even!” the Home Alone star quipped.
Culkin first met Song in 2014 through mutual friends, soon sparking a casual fling that eventually turned into something more serious.
“I saw this person he put out there — it was a product of this armor that he’s put on to protect himself,” Song told the magazine. “I could see that that wasn’t really who he was. I could see these glimpses of this really interesting, very sensitive, very intelligent, artistic person that he doesn’t really let show.”
Soon after, Culkin realized that he was in love with Song.
“I’d never felt this way before,” he recalled. “I believed in her. I mean, I believed in people before, but I believed in her down to my bone marrow. You know what I mean? I put it behind the armor though, behind that shield.”
Few studio fantasies inspire quite as much generational whiplash as Hook. For some viewers, it is one of Steven Spielberg’s most magical family movies. For others, it is a gloriously overstuffed curiosity that only gets weirder and more charming with age. Either way, it has become a real cult favorite over the years, and now Prime subscribers are down to their last days to revisit it.
Released in 1991, Hook imagines what happened after Peter Pan grew up. Robin Williams stars as Peter Banning, an adult who has forgotten his life in Neverland until Captain Hook returns and forces him to rediscover who he really is. The cast also includes, among others, Dustin Hoffman as Captain James Hook, Julia Roberts as Tinker Bell, Bob Hoskins as Smee, Maggie Smith as Granny Wendy, and Charlie Korsmo as Jack Banning.
Not just that, though, but you’ll also get to experience one of John Williams‘ most underrated scores. The music that swells when Peter remembers his true identity before embracing the persona of Pan once again and blasting into the Neverland sky is one of the most triumphant moments you’ll witness.
Lights, Camera, Retraction — The Collider Movie Quiz!
Sometimes actors quit; other times they’re fired. On this first day of spring, we’re recalling some famous roles that got a fresh start with a recast.
The late critic Roger Ebert gave the film 2/4, noting that Hook takes a great idea — what if Peter Pan grew up? — and somehow turns it into something far less magical than it should be. Instead of feeling like a fresh or imaginative take on a beloved story, the film ends up feeling overly long, messy, and surprisingly uninspired. When his children are kidnapped by Captain Hook, Peter’s forced to return to Neverland and rediscover who he used to be. It’s a strong setup, and early on, the film hints at something special, but once the story reaches Neverland, things start to fall apart.
“The crucial failure in ‘Hook’ is its inability to re-imagine the material, to find something new, fresh or urgent to do with the Peter Pan myth. Lacking that, Spielberg should simply have remade the original story, straight, for this generation. The lack of creativity in the screenplay is dramatized in the sword fighting sequences between Hook and Peter, which are endless and not particularly well-choreographed. They do not convince me that either Williams or Hoffman is much of a fencer.”
Hook will leave Prime Video on March 31.

Zendaya and Tom Holland have once again set the internet buzzing after stepping out together in Los Angeles, marking their first public appearance since wedding rumors intensified.
The couple’s rare outing, paired with a subtle yet telling detail, has only fueled speculation that their relationship may have reached a new and very private milestone.

Zendaya and Tom Holland are known for keeping their relationship low-key, making their recent dinner date in Los Angeles all the more noticeable.
Joined by friends, the pair appeared completely at ease, sharing affectionate moments as they walked through a parking lot.
Pictures obtained by the Daily Mail showed them holding hands, smiling warmly, and exchanging quiet gestures that didn’t go unnoticed.
At one point, Zendaya slipped her arm through Holland’s, and he responded by placing his hand over hers.
For fans who rarely see the couple out together, the sighting felt significant. It also marked the first time they had been seen side by side since rumors about a possible secret wedding began circulating widely.

What truly caught attention, however, was what Zendaya wore. The actress stepped out in a sleek black long-sleeved top paired with a flowing white skirt, but it was the jewelry on her left hand that sparked conversation.
She appeared to wear only a simple gold band on her ring finger, a detail that many interpreted as meaningful given the ongoing speculation.
Earlier that same day, Zendaya was spotted visiting a luxury boutique in Beverly Hills with her half-brother, Austin Stoermer Coleman.
During that outing, she wore both the slim gold band and her striking diamond engagement ring, reportedly worth $500,000 and designed by Jessica McCormack.
The piece caught the light as she exited the store, adding to the intrigue surrounding her relationship status.
The decision to later appear wearing only the gold band has since become a focal point for fans and observers trying to decode its meaning.
Despite the growing chatter, Zendaya has already spoken out about at least part of the speculation.
During a recent appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!,” she addressed viral AI-generated images that falsely depicted her wedding to Holland.
“Many people have been fooled by them. While I was just out and about in real life, people were like, ‘Oh my God, your wedding photos are gorgeous,’ and I was like, ‘Babe, they’re AI. They’re not real,’” she said.
She revealed that even those close to her had been misled by the images, noting that “many people” within her own family believed the fabricated photos were real.
Still, when asked directly about the headlines surrounding her supposed wedding, Zendaya chose to remain playful and somewhat elusive.
“Really? I haven’t seen any of them,” she said.
Her response has only added to the mystery, leaving fans unsure whether the rumors are entirely unfounded or simply being handled privately.

The speculation hasn’t been driven solely by fans. Those within Zendaya’s professional circle have also contributed to the growing buzz.
Actress Liza Colon-Zayas, who stars alongside the couple in “Spider-Man: Brand New Day,” reposted a comment from Zendaya’s stylist, Law Roach, suggesting the couple had quietly tied the knot.
Roach himself intensified the rumors during the 2026 Actor Awards, telling Access Hollywood, “The wedding has already happened. You missed it,” before doubling down with, “It’s very true.”
Later, speaking to Entertainment Tonight, he added, “The wedding’s over, sorry.”
Zendaya’s mother, Claire Stoermer, also weighed in subtly. After sharing a clip of Roach’s interview on Instagram, she captioned it simply, “The laugh….”
These layered reactions have blurred the line between playful teasing and possible truth, making it difficult to determine what is real and what is speculation.

The conversation around Zendaya and Tom Holland’s relationship didn’t begin overnight.
It dates back to the 2025 Golden Globe Awards, when Zendaya was first seen wearing a noticeable diamond ring on her left hand.
Months later, Holland seemed to confirm their engagement in a lighthearted moment during a panel discussion.
When a reporter referred to Zendaya as his “girlfriend,” he quickly corrected them with a smile.
“Fiancée,” he clarified.
Since then, the couple has remained largely private, rarely addressing their personal life in detail. Their silence, combined with occasional public sightings and subtle clues like the gold band, has only kept interest alive.
Whether the wedding rumors hold any truth or are simply fueled by coincidence and playful remarks, one thing is clear: Zendaya and Tom Holland continue to captivate fans not just with their careers, but with a love story that unfolds mostly behind closed doors.
For now, the mystery remains, and the world is watching closely for the next hint.

“This has broken all of his own codes.”
Chappell Roan is clearing the air about her alleged interaction with professional soccer star Jorginho’s 11-year-old daughter in Brazil.
“I’m just gonna tell my half of the story of what happened today with a mother and child, who were involved with a security guard who is not my personal security,” Roan, 28, said in an Instagram Stories video posted Sunday, March 22. “I didn’t even see a woman and a child, like, no one came up to me. No one bothered me. I was just sitting at breakfast in my hotel. I think these people were staying at the hotel, as well.”
According to the Grammy winner, she did not ask the security official to “go up and talk” to the family on her behalf.
“I did not, [and] they did not come up to me. They weren’t doing anything,” Roan stressed of Jorginho’s wife and child. “It’s unfair for security to just assume someone doesn’t have good intentions when they have no reason to believe because there’s no action even taken, like, that’s so not what I stand behind.”
Roan further stated that she has no issue with any of her fans.
“I do not hate people who are fans of my music. I do not hate children, like, that is crazy,” she added on Sunday. “I’m sorry to that mother and child that someone was assuming something that you would do something and that if you felt uncomfortable, that makes me really sad. You did not deserve that.”
Jorginho, 34, made waves earlier on Saturday when he claimed that Roan’s security team wouldn’t allow his daughter to meet the pop star. (Jorginho, real name Jorge Luiz Frello Filho, shares son Jax with wife Cat Cavelli and is stepfather to her daughter, Ada, from a previous relationship.)

“I went through a very upsetting situation with my family earlier today. My wife is in São Paulo for Lollapalooza Brasil,” Jorginho alleged in a Saturday statement shared via social media. “This morning, my daughter woke up incredibly excited. She even made a sign because she was so happy to see an artist she really admires, or used to admire.”
Per Jorginho, Cavelli, 34, and their 11-year-old were staying in the same hotel as Roan ahead of her Lollapalooza set.
“During breakfast, the artist walked past their table. My daughter, like any child, recognized her, got excited, and just wanted to make sure it was really her,” Jorginho alleged in his statement. “And the worst part is she didn’t even approach her. She simply walked past the singer’s table, looked to confirm it was her, smiled, and went back to sit with her mum. She didn’t say anything, didn’t ask for anything.”
A security guard allegedly told Cavelli and her daughter that she shouldn’t “disrespect or harass other people.”
“Honestly, I don’t know at what point simply walking past a table and looking to see if someone is there can be considered harassment,” Jorginho concluded. “I’ve lived with football, public exposure, and well-known people for many years, and I understand very well what respect and boundaries are. What happened there was not that. It was just a child admiring someone. It’s sad to see this kind of treatment coming from those who should understand the importance of fans. At the end of the day, they are the ones who build all of this. I sincerely hope this serves as a moment of reflection. No one should have to go through this, especially not a child.”
Sometimes the stories hiding behind the uniform are wilder than anything you could imagine. For Brandi Tenlen, a longtime deputy, a side hustle intended to earn extra cash ended up costing her career. What began as quiet curiosity among colleagues quickly escalated into an investigation, uncovering a tangled mix of ambition, secrecy, and controversy.
Investigators uncovered that Brandi Tenlen had been creating and selling foot-focused content on the subscription platform FeetFinder. A supervisor kicked off a preliminary inquiry, and that inquiry led to a full internal affairs investigation. Content included at least one video where she wore parts of her official uniform while referencing her law enforcement role. Over 16 months, her account reportedly generated around $6,000 and featured hundreds of images and dozens of videos, ranging from simple foot photography to sexually suggestive scenarios. Additionally, some of this activity allegedly took place during work hours and using agency equipment, raising serious concerns about professional conduct. In total, 59 videos and 431 photos were allegedly found. Some of the footage and pictures showed Tenlen’s feet only with different items including fruit and toys.
Colleagues told investigators that discussions about Tenlen’s account occasionally spilled into the workplace, with some deputies even shown content directly. The internal affairs investigation flagged multiple policy violations, including misuse of departmental resources. Additional findings noted that Tenlen allegedly misused sick leave after a denied vacation request to continue filming content with a visitor from Canada. That incident alone further complicated the case.
In the end, Tenlen resigned while under investigation. The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office emphasized the importance of maintaining trust, professionalism, and integrity within the community. While FeetFinder operates legally as a subscription platform for foot-focused content, the case highlights the tricky gray areas for professionals in regulated fields. For Tenlen, a decades-long career came to an abrupt and very public close, leaving colleagues and the online world buzzing.
What Do You Think Roomies?
Macaulay Culkin has officially weighed in on the fictional Disney Channel Mount Rushmore debate! After “That’s So Raven” star Raven-Symoné shared who she believed belonged on the monument, social media users also jumped into the conversation, sharing their thoughts. On Instagram, Culkin shared who he believed deserved a spot.
Culkin, known for his role in “Home Alone” and his marriage to “The Suite Life of Zack & Cody” star Brenda Song, posted an image of the latter from her time on Disney to his Instagram.
“Not that anyone asked, but I’m throwing my hat into the debate,” Culkin wrote. “THIS is my Disney Channel Mount Rushmore.”
Song appeared in numerous Disney productions throughout the early 2000s, including “Phil of the Future,” “Stuck in the Suburbs,” “Wendy Wu: Homecoming Warrior,” and “The Suite Life on Deck.”

Culkin’s post comes days after Symoné shared who she would place on her Mount Rushmore during an earlier interview.
According to The Blast, Symoné placed herself, Hilary Duff, Shia LaBeouf, and the late Lee Thompson Young on hers, but notably left out Miley Cyrus, who starred in “Hannah Montana.”
“I love you, Miley, but she came after,” Symoné said, which sparked a bit of controversy online.

Like Symoné, Culkin’s Disney Mount Rushmore has sparked online conversation about which of the network’s stars are worthy of being considered one of the greats.
“London Tipton is literally a walking legend,” a user wrote on Instagram, while another said, “I love me some Wendy Wu: Homecoming Warrior!”
Another user said, “H— no! LMAO, but I love how supportive he is as a husband,” while a fourth wrote, “Yeah, no. She was cool, but sit this one out.”
One netizen said, “Her role as London was iconic, but the people Raven listed walked so she could run.”
“The Mount Rushmore is who Raven said it is PERIOD,” another posted. “We appreciate those who came after – Miley, Wendy, Ashley, Dillan, Cole, Zac, Ryan, Corbin, etc.”
They continued, “They were all great in their contributions; however, the founding Queens and Kings who built the platform from the ground up is Raven, Hilary, Lee, and Shia.”
Even more child actors have tuned into the conversation surrounding the fictional Disney Channel monument.
According to a previous report from The Blast, Christy Carlson Romano, known for her roles in “Kim Possible” and “Even Stevens,” said her former co-star, LaBeouf, did not deserve to be considered one of the network’s most iconic performers.
“Shia doesn’t deserve to be on the Rushmore,” she wrote in a since-deleted post on X. “I’ll be writing a substack on this so you can understand why.”
In 2021, Romano revealed that her relationship with LaBeouf was not what some believed it to be. “I just kick myself because I really do kind of wish, if I’d known anything about him, I could have been a little bit more, I don’t know, patient,” she said.
While Romano, who also starred in “Cadet Kelly” and “Kim Possible: So the Drama,” did not expand upon her declaration, it came weeks after LaBeouf was arrested in New Orleans.
Reports stated that LaBeouf, also known for roles in “Transformers” and “Holes,” allegedly got into a physical altercation after being removed from a local business during the city’s Mardi Gras celebration.
Years before that, LaBeouf was accused of horrifying crimes by his ex-partner, FKA Twigs, in a shocking lawsuit.
LaBeouf opened up about his latest run-in with the law during an interview with Andrew Callaghan and admitted he would need to “deal” with his personal issues.
Rehab, however, is not on LaBeouf’s mind, he said.
“I’m just not into it. I don’t think my answers are there. I just don’t … I genuinely don’t. If I genuinely did, I’d go,” he shared.
According to LaBeouf, he does not have a problem with drinking alcohol. “I think I have a different problem, and I’m gonna address it … I think I have a small man complex. I think it’s something that has to do with anger and ego more than my drinking.”

The Grim Reaper has already had a fruitful year in 2026, taking from Hollywood stars like Robert Carridine, Catherine O’Hara, Robert Duvall, James Van Der Beek, and even the invincible Chuck Norris. Now Nicholas Brendon has died. The Buffy the Vampire Slayer actor was 54.
According to a statement released by his family, Brendon died in his sleep from “natural causes.” If that sounds like a young age for such a cause of death, it is. The actor’s health was actually complicated by a lot of factors. He suffered from cauda equina syndrome, a spinal condition that required several surgeries. He revealed in 2023 that he had a congenital heart defect that had recently been diagnosed after a 2022 heart attack. All of this was exacerbated by mental health and substance abuse battles that he struggled with all his life, but his family reported that he was in good spirits and maintaining his health schedule before he died.

Brendon is best known for playing Xander Harris on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Xander was that awkward teen who was supposed to be the stand-in for the audience with his everyday reactions to his spreading awareness of what is out in his world. He was the Scooby gang’s broad generalist, ordinary and plain, while the other characters have their own skills or abilities, either as the Slayer, witch, or demon. Often overwhelmed, underprepared, and clearly misinformed, he was somehow the heart of the group, and he always managed to deliver. What kept Xander so relatable was that he was “everyone,” that very human connection.
Sarah Michelle Gellar was slated to be in the Hulu reboot of the Buffy series, and rumors abounded that other characters were going to be returning for the show. However, there were questions about Brendon’s participation because of his mental health and addiction struggles, especially as they resulted in numerous run-ins with the law. At the time of Brendon’s death, it did not seem that Xander was going to be included in the reboot, a fact the actor was not happy about.

Immediately following the success of Buffy, Brendon starred in Kitchen Confidential for 13 episodes. This half-season series was based on Anthony Bourdain’s novel “Kitchen Confidential: Adventures in the Culinary Underbelly,” with the lead Bradley Cooper playing “Jack” Bourdain for Anthony himself. Brendon plays the pastry chef and friend of Jack’s, Seth Richman.
He maintained steady acting roles in his post-Buffy career, with another highlight being the film Coherence. In this 2013 psychological sci-fi thriller, he plays Mike as he and his wife Lee, played by Lorene Scafaria, host six of their friends as Miller’s Comet passes the Earth. What follows is a story where time no longer moves in a linear fashion. Out-of-sequence events culminate in the comet breaking up and a rather surprising ending.

Following this film came his return to the small screen in a major role as character Kevin Lynch in the long-running series Criminal Minds for 21episodes over the course of eight seasons. A technical analyst with prodigious technical computing ability, he is brought in to hack the computer of one of the series stars, fan favorite Penelope Garcia (Kirsten Vangsness), to find out who shot her. Over the episodes, he is depicted or referenced and goes on cases to many locations with the team, even starting a relationship with Garcia. Although this character wasn’t one of his more admired roles, he nevertheless left his mark with fans.
Despite his struggles, Brendon continued acting until 2024. He even had two upcoming projects. With his untimely death, it appears that the IMDB page for his project Best Sheep is no longer available and was taken down during the research for this article. Once in a Blue Moon is written and directed by Valeria Sweet, and the role that Brendon was to play was that of Matt; little else is available about the production, so we will see what ultimately happens with the series.

Nicholas Brendon left us too soon. His wholesome on-screen persona masked serious struggles that the actor bravely faced while trying to maintain his career, constantly picking himself up whenever he fell. He may not have had the most stable off-screen life, but what he brought to fans was important enough to him that he kept fighting for it until his very last breath. Hopefully, he has found peace.
