Tee Grizzley Reflects On His Second Chance After Getting His Record Expunged

It was a celebration on Wednesday after his Michigan felony record was expunged by Judge Rosemarie Aquilina. The rapper shared that he had been working for the last two years to get his record expunged. He also revealed that having felonies on his record had cost him business opportunities throughout the years.

During the celebration, two Ingham County teens had their felony weapons charges reduced to misdemeanors. They completed the county’s juvenile weapons court program.

Tee Grizzley spoke highly of the program and encouraged the teens to take advantage of their second chance. The rapper later took to his platform, sharing photos with the judge and his family. He celebrated the news and thanked God for reaching the milestone. “Every felony GONE!!!! Thank you God,” Tee Grizzley wrote.

He then encouraged others with a record to keep working, praying, and growing despite their past mistakes.

Morning Walk Turns Tragic After Two Young Children Reportedly Crash Into Woman

According to Oakland police, two brothers, a 7-year-old and 4-year-old were driving a white Toyota sedan when they sideswiped an oncoming vehicle. The car then struck a woman who was walking her dog before crashing into a retaining wall. Authorities say the crash happened around 9:35a.m. on Thursday, August 6, near the intersection of 35th Avenue and Mangels Avenue, just off Interstate 580. The boys’ uncle claims they live close to where the crash happened and says they reportedly took their parents’ keys while they were sleeping.

What We Know About The Children & Injured Woman

CBS News reports that a bystander’s cellphone video captured people performing chest compressions on the injured woman and one of the children before police arrived at the scene. Paramedics later took the woman to a hospital, where she remained in critical condition. Authorities say both children also suffered injuries and received hospital treatment. The woman’s dog was also found unharmed in the area. Police say they still don’t know why the children took their parents’ car. Authorities also haven’t determined whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash.

Questions Remain About The Children’s Parents

Authorities reportedly contacted the children’s parents after the crash. Reports say the parents are cooperating with police as the investigation continues. The Oakland Police Department has also asked anyone with information to come forward and contact the traffic unit at 510-777-8570.

According to the firm’s current biography, Small joined in 2025 after nearly a decade working at the “highest levels of New York politics and government.” His previous job is where the story takes a turn for the worse.

Before entering private-sector PR, Avi Small served as press secretary to New York Gov. Kathy Hochul. The New York Times first reported in July 2025 that a male colleague had accused him of inappropriate touching. Times Union later placed the alleged incident at McGeary’s in Albany following a June 16 softball game involving current and former staffers from the governor’s office.

Hochul’s office placed Small on administrative leave June 25, and he resigned July 4. In a brief resignation letter obtained by Politico, Small said he was “grateful for the opportunity” to serve the administration but didn’t address the allegation.

On July 7, 2025, Times Union reported that WilmerHale conducted the outside investigation and finished its work during the week of Small’s resignation. The governor’s office said the inquiry was “substantively complete” by Friday afternoon, but its findings haven’t been released publicly.

The June complaint wasn’t the first time Small’s workplace conduct had come under scrutiny. Politico reported that a separate 2024 investigation examined allegations that he berated junior employees and discussed his sex life at work.

Multiple sources also told the outlet that human resources had received information alleging Small cornered a subordinate in a supply closet while questioning them. A person familiar with the confidential outcome said the review didn’t result in a finding of a human resources violation.

After the investigation ended, around 10 staffers met with human resources seeking more information about its outcome, according to Politico. A person who attended the meeting said an HR representative encouraged the group not to discuss the accusations and explained that the findings would remain private to protect witnesses from retaliation.

One week after Small resigned amid the separate 2025 allegation, Hochul defended both her decision to keep him following the earlier investigation and her administration’s response to the new complaint. “The environment was changed where people felt comfortable to come forward,” she said, adding that there was “no tolerance for misconduct.”

Erica Vladimer, founding director of Harassment-Free New York, wasn’t convinced. She argued that Small’s resignation shouldn’t end the investigation and said the administration needed to examine whether it had responded appropriately to the complaints about his conduct in 2024. “It’s very clear that Avi had an opportunity to harass someone after he was already investigated in the first place. Why?” she said.

Meanwhile, the estate fight at the center of his outreach continues. An unnamed spokesperson for Paris Jackson called her May court victory over $625,000 in disputed legal bonuses from an estate worth $3 billion a “massive win.”

In July, the 28-year-old musician was opposing executor John Branca’s attempt to seal records related to objections to bonuses to other attorneys. Branca stated that disclosure could hurt future business deals and accused her of using “inflammatory rhetoric” unrelated to the sealing dispute.

Away from the filings, Paris Jackson has been focused on music. She’s currently on tour and preparing to release her second album, “Happiest Day of My Life,” on August 21.

The streamer recently announced that the show has been renewed for a second season after becoming its most-watched scripted original ever: 861 million minutes viewed in its first week, 1.8 billion and counting overall.

What Is ‘The Five-Star Weekend’ About?

Hollis Shaw (Garner) is a food-brand empire in her own right, a Today show regular whose husband dies suddenly and whose grief is not exactly conducive to a livestreamed onion dip demo. Six months into widowhood and post-influencer meltdown, Hollis decides to invite four women from separate chapters of her life to Nantucket for a weekend that doubles as her midlife crisis intervention.

Regina Hall‘s Dru-Ann is a powerhouse sports agent arriving amid her own public cancellation who’s starting to wonder whether she has a life outside her clients. Chloë Sevigny‘s Tatum is the childhood best friend who never left the island and has a chip on both shoulders about it. Gemma Chan‘s Gigi is an airline pilot Hollis has never actually met, connected through her online food community, whose presence carries a mystery the show doles out in careful increments. What We Know About ‘The Five-Star Weekend’ Season 2

Peacock’s scripted chief, Lisa Katz, credited the fan reception to The Five-Star Weekend as reason for its renewal, while creator and executive producer Bekah Brunstetter (This Is Us) celebrated the announcement by teasing that the character work isn’t done yet. As for Garner, who also executive produces, she addressed her four co-stars by name.

“Regina, Chloe, Gemma, D’Arcy and I have had the best time talking to people about The Five-Star Weekend,” Garner said. “We’re so happy you love it as much as we loved making it for you. If you’re curious about what’s going to happen next, imagine how we feel! We’re grateful to Elin [Hilderbrand], Bekah, our producers, directors and Peacock for hosting the ultimate girls’ weekend that will be season two.”

Peacock has not announced a premiere date or confirmed the returning cast, though it would be a nervy call to bring anyone back without Garner, Hall, Sevigny, and Carden intact, given that they are the entire engine. Brunstetter did tease a “next adventure,” so it’s safe to assume a change of venue rather than another weekend on the same Nantucket porch. That tracks, ultimately, because Hilderbrand has enough coastal real estate in her back catalog to support a whole new gathering, and the show has already deviated from the source material in enough places that Brunstetter could run on her own steam if she wanted to.

Peacock Finally Has a Scripted Summer Hit With ‘The Five-Star Weekend’

The appeal of The Five-Star Weekend isn’t too hard to figure out. Brunstetter came up on This Is Us and knows how to move between grief and pajama-party fun in the same scene. She built the show around five women who each get their own storyline, so viewers get invested in all of them rather than just Garner. Nantucket looks gorgeous. Judy Greer shows up mid-season as a poisonous frenemy who steals scenes. It’s a good show released during a good show drought, and it’s only benefited from positive word of mouth.

But Season 2 has a clear climb in front of it: keep the ensemble intact and give each of the five women somewhere new to go. Tatum’s cancer diagnosis alone hands Sevigny plenty of material to work with, while Hollis’ new romance with a familiar face from her past is very much a work in progress. Dru-Ann has a full career rebuild ahead of her after the PR crisis she survived in Season 1, and Brooke, whose marriage spent all eight episodes slowly coming apart, still has to fly home and figure out what she actually wants to do about it. Fans want more of the dinner-table conversations that made the first weekend feel like something they were invited to. Peacock has finally found success with the soapy summer hit it’s been chasing for years. Now, it needs to justify another trip.

Former Bachelorette Hannah Brown is in no rush to expand her family with husband Adam Woolard.

“Since having the surgery [to correct my double uterus in April], I feel like the conversation is coming up more and more,” Brown, 31, exclusively told Us on Wednesday, August 5, while promoting her partnership with Nexplanon, stating that she’s not ready for the next step just yet. “We are living outside of our house right now because our house is getting renovated, and for me, personally, I don’t think of it being the best time.”

“It’s just such an unknown of what it’s going to be like to be a mom, and I’m like, ‘Will I be a good mom?’ I don’t know,” she said on Wednesday. “There’s a lot of things that I’m aware of about myself that I will need to continue to grow in to really show up the way that I want to, which my friends are like that.”

Brown added, “I think what I really realize is that I’m never gonna be fully ready. That’s not the person I am. I am always scared … and I’ve done some crazy things in my life, but I’ve always done them scared. That’s gonna be the same thing when it comes to being a mom. I’m just gonna have to do it scared and figure it out on the way.”

The reality star-turned-romance novelist is already certain, however, that Woolard will be a great dad.

“My husband, I’m not worried about at all, like, he will be Mr. Mom. He’s so good with kids,” she gushed. “It’s so unreal … I really do feel like I picked a partner that I know will be an amazing dad. I feel really confident in the partnership that we have together.”

“I was so excited to partner with Organon, who are the makers of Nexplanon, because as a writer in the romance genre, you don’t really see people in these characters talking about the important topic of birth control,” she told Us of her new short story. “Romance is all about these big life experiences and relationships and love and sex, and so it is important to normalize having these conversations in your relationships with your friends and with your healthcare providers.”

She further noted, “I think it’s really important for people to see, like, there are so many different options for women for what’s right when it comes to if and when they want to have children. And so, being able to write that into a story and show that it’s not weird, it’s a super normal thing to talk about … was a really fun experience because I know for me and my friends we talk about what stage of life we’re in, what we’re what we’re wanting out of life and what we’re not.”

Ever since Dragonball Evolution hit theaters in 2009, fans have largely pretended it never happened, and honestly, who could blame them? The film was panned by critics, rejected by longtime fans, and even Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama later expressed disappointment with the adaptation. Years later, screenwriter Ben Ramsey publicly apologized, admitting he wasn’t approaching the project as a fan but simply as another writing assignment.

The good news? Hollywood looks a lot different than it did in 2009.

When Disney completed its acquisition of 21st Century Fox in 2019, it also inherited Fox’s live action Dragon Ball film rights. While Shueisha, Toei Animation, and Bird Studio continue to oversee the franchise itself, Disney controls the live action movie rights that Fox originally secured more than two decades ago. As of today, no new live action Dragon Ballfilm has been officially announced, but the possibility is always there.

If Disney ever decides to revisit the franchise, it would be walking into a completely different landscape. Anime adaptations have come a long way over the past several years. Projects like One Piece have shown that audiences will embrace live action anime when the people behind it genuinely respect the source material. Studios have also become much more willing to work alongside original creators instead of trying to reinvent beloved franchises for mainstream audiences.

Technology has also caught up. In 2009, convincing audiences that people could fly through the sky while launching planet-shattering energy blasts was a much taller task. Today, visual effects have reached the point where a live action Kamehameha or Super Saiyan transformation could look spectacular in the hands of the right filmmakers. Disney certainly has access to the talent and resources needed to make that happen.

It may also already have the right director within its own family of studios. Destin Daniel Cretton, who is currently directing Spider-Man: Brand New Day for Marvel Studios, has been open about his love for Dragon Ball Z. During the development of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Cretton cited the anime as one of his inspirations for the film’s martial arts action, and fans even spotted a playful Kamehameha homage in the movie. More importantly, Cretton has shown that he can balance heartfelt character moments with fast-paced, visually stunning action. If Disney ever moves forward with another live action Dragon Ball, he’d certainly deserve to be part of the conversation.

Of course, none of that matters if the story misses the heart of what made Dragon Ball special in the first place. Fans aren’t asking for a grounded reboot or a complete reimagining of Goku’s journey. They want colorful characters, incredible martial arts, outrageous power levels, and the sense of adventure that has made the franchise one of the biggest in the world for more than 40 years. 

Perhaps the biggest obstacle isn’t visual effects or casting. It’s trust. Dragonball Evolution burned so much goodwill that many fans would immediately be skeptical of another live action attempt. Disney would have one chance to prove that the franchise deserves another shot, and it would need to earn that trust from day one by staying true to the spirit of Akira Toriyama’s legendary series.

Then again, maybe that’s exactly why now is the right time.

Dragonball Evolution proved that simply owning the rights isn’t enough. But with today’s filmmaking technology, a greater appreciation for anime, and directors like Destin Daniel Cretton who genuinely understand the material, Disney has a real opportunity to do something fans never thought possible: make a live action Dragon Ball movie people actually want to watch.
