Jason Momoa Says a Solo Lobo Movie Must Be R-Rated : Coastal House Media
Jason Momoa is finally getting the chance to play one of his favorite DC characters, but if the actor ever headlines a solo Lobo film, he already has one non-negotiable demand.
While speaking with Collider, Momoa made it clear that he has no interest in a watered-down version of the infamous intergalactic bounty hunter.
“It’s all I want, and I promise — I’m just going to put this out there right now — I do not have any interest in making a Lobo PG-13 movie. So, will he be a part of some other movies? If they want me, I’ll be there. But if I make a solo movie, I’m not doing it unless it’s rated R.”
The statement is likely to be welcomed by longtime DC fans. Since his debut in the comics, Lobo has earned a reputation as one of the publisher’s most outrageous antiheroes. Known for his brutal violence, dark humor, and complete disregard for authority, the character has often been viewed as a natural fit for an R-rated adaptation.
Momoa has spent years expressing his desire to play the Main Man. Long before his casting was officially announced, the actor frequently mentioned Lobo as a dream role and one he felt personally connected to. That dream finally becomes reality with his upcoming appearance in Supergirl, where audiences will get their first look at the new DC Universe’s version of the character.
The casting has generated significant excitement among fans, many of whom believe Momoa’s larger-than-life personality, physical presence, and love of the source material make him an ideal choice for the role. Unlike many comic book castings that take fans by surprise, Momoa’s portrayal of Lobo feels like a pairing that has been years in the making.
Although DC Studios has not announced a standalone Lobo movie, Momoa’s comments suggest he is more than willing to continue playing the character across multiple projects. However, he drew a clear line when it comes to a solo adventure. While he is open to appearing in other DCU films, he believes a proper Lobo movie should embrace the character’s mature roots rather than tone them down for a broader audience.
The idea may not be as far-fetched as it once seemed. Under the leadership of James Gunn and Peter Safran, DC Studios has shown a willingness to explore projects aimed at different audiences. With R-rated comic book films continuing to find success both critically and commercially, an adult-oriented Lobo film could fit comfortably within the evolving DC Universe.
For now, fans will have to wait and see how audiences respond to Momoa’s debut in Supergirl. But if the actor ultimately gets his wish, the Main Man’s first solo outing will likely be every bit as loud, violent, and unapologetically over-the-top as fans have always imagined.

‘The Rookie’s Most Controversial Series Twist Is a Game-Changing Shake-Up
Police procedurals thrive on formula, but even the most reliable shows need to shake things up once in a while. The Rookie has done exactly that through its documentary-style episodes, a recurring gimmick that began in Season 3 with “True Crime” and has returned almost every season since. These mockumentary-style episodes parody true-crime docuseries, framing Mid-Wilshire officers as talking heads while weaving in body cam footage and 911 calls.
For many fans, though, these are the most hated installments of the show. Scroll through Reddit threads or TikTok comments, and you’ll find plenty of complaints about the episodes being boring, convoluted, or even immersion-breaking. And yet, despite the criticism, there’s a strong case to be made that The Rookie’s documentary episodes are far more effective than they get credit for — aside from one subpar episode in Season 7 that shows what happens when the format goes too far.
Why ‘The Rookie’ Documentary Episodes Work So Well
The central complaint against the docu-episodes is that they’re gimmicks, unnecessary departures from the regular balance of drama and comedy. But that’s exactly what makes them worthwhile. Police procedurals can easily fall into repetitive patterns, and a one-off format change breaks up the rhythm without derailing the overall story.
In their best versions — like Season 3’s “True Crime” and Season 4’s “Real Crime” — the episodes offer an outsider’s perspective on the Mid-Wilshire division. The officers are suddenly self-conscious, aware of how they appear on camera, which adds texture to characters we think we know well. Fans get glimpses of how Lucy Chen (Melissa O’Neil), Nyla Harper (Mekia Cox), or Tim Bradford (Eric Winter) see themselves versus how the world sees them. It’s both comedic and revealing, and the satire of true-crime obsession gives the show a chance to poke fun at itself.
On top of that, the documentary framing lets the writers lean into bizarre, idiosyncratic cases without breaking the tone of the main series. Instead of dragging out a standard case-of-the-week, the mockumentary structure gives permission for the show to play, whether that means absurd interviews, outlandish side characters, or offbeat narrative devices. In short, they’re filler episodes that don’t feel like filler.
A perfect example of the second installment of the documentary-style series, titled “Real Crime,” which delves deep into Aaron Thorsen’s (Tru Valentino) backstory. With the weight of his troubled past still a large part of his life and a reputation to build, Aaron ultimately agrees to participate in a reality series that promises to rebrand him. What appears to be an opportunity to rebuild his image devolves into chaos when the producer of the reality show is murdered on camera, with Aaron once again in the crosshairs of suspicion. The case examined in the show also implicates Aaron’s own complicated relationship with Rowan (Luke Cosgrove), his manipulative friend who had been running drugs on the side.
What is most interesting about “Real Crime,” however, is how the documentary gimmick engages in character development. We hear Aaron’s squadmates express their doubts and support through the interviews, all culminating in Rowan being exposed as the actual killer of Patrick (Timothy Taratchila) — Thorsen’s dead best friend — and Morris (Rome Flynn). At the end of Aaron’s story, he receives validation from his coworkers and Patrick’s grieving father, thereby giving the format meaning beyond the stylistic flair.
‘The Rookie’s Documentary Episodes Are Worth It — Even if Season 7 Stumbled
To be fair, critics of the documentary episodes aren’t wrong about everything. The biggest issue is the glaring plot hole: If Lucy and Harper appear in a nationally released true-crime docuseries, how can they believably go undercover in later episodes of The Rookie? The series has never addressed this, and it strains credibility when characters who rely on anonymity are suddenly recognizable to anyone who binge-watches true crime on Hulu.
Even with that flaw, though, the docu-episodes have mostly been fun experiments — though Season 7’s “A Deadly Secret” was a miss. This episode tried to cram in every possible subplot, from a missing ex-fiancée to a haunted psychiatric ward to an AI named Zuzu. The result was chaotic and disjointed, losing the charm of earlier mockumentary episodes. While there was one highlight — a heartfelt Chenford moment triggered by a truth serum — the episode’s messy plotting showed how the gimmick can backfire when it’s overloaded.
Instead of giving us a sharp parody or a quirky detour, “A Deadly Secret” collapsed under the weight of its own tangled storylines. It’s the rare case where fan complaints about the format being “boring” or “too much” really rang true.
Documentary Episodes of ‘The Rookie’ Are a Fun Break From the Drama
Despite their divisive reception, the documentary episodes remain some of the most memorable in the series. They’re conversation starters, even among viewers who don’t like them. They parody the cultural fascination with true crime, they give characters unexpected moments of vulnerability, and they prove that The Rookie is willing to take risks rather than stick to a procedural comfort zone.
‘The Rookie’ Completely Shocked Us in Just 3 Unexpected Minutes
Nathan Fillion’s long-running ABC drama left us speechless.
The Season 7 stumble shouldn’t automatically mean that the format doesn’t work. Used sparingly and with focus, the mockumentary episodes still have value. If anything, the writers should refine them: Tighten the stories, acknowledge the undercover plot hole, and resist the temptation to overload the format with too many callbacks or side characters. Because when they work, The Rookie’s documentary episodes aren’t the show’s weakest link — they’re proof that even in a genre built on formula, experimentation can pay off.

ANTM’s Adrianne Curry Reacts to Tyra Banks’ Netflix Lawsuit
The original winner of America’s Next Top Model is reacting to Tyra Banks’ defamation lawsuit against Netflix following the platform’s bombshell docuseries, Reality Check: Inside America’s Next Top Model.
“I read that Tyra Banks is suing Netflix because she didn’t like being edited,” Adrianne Curry, who won the inaugural season of the hit reality competition show, said in a video shared via Instagram on Sunday, June 14. “Biiiiiiiiiiiitch, for real girl? Like?”
Curry, 43, ended the video with a boisterous laugh.
“Trya doesn’t like being ‘edited,’” Curry captioned the post. “Lol. Welcome to the party, pal.”
One day earlier, the model named the streaming giant in a defamation lawsuit filed on Saturday, June 13, and obtained by People. Banks reportedly accused Netflix of defamation and heavily editing her on-camera interviews.
“Tyra Banks participated in the Netflix documentary series America’s Next Top Model (‘ANTM’) because she believed viewers deserved a candid conversation about the show’s legacy — its successes and its shortcomings,” the filing reportedly reads in part. “There are aspects of the show for which Ms. Banks takes accountability and she wanted ANTM viewers to hear that from her directly. Going into her interview, Ms. Banks did not limit the ANTM topics the interviewers could ask. During a three-and-a-half hour interview, Ms. Banks answered questions about the show’s groundbreaking history, including criticism of decisions she would approach differently today.”
Netflix has not publicly responded to the reported lawsuit. Us Weekly reached out to the streaming platform for comment but did not hear back at the time of publication.
Reality Check: Inside America’s Next Top Model, which premiered on February 16, featured rare interviews with executive producers Banks and Ken Mok and former judges Jay Manuel, Miss J. Alexander and Nigel Barker as they broke down the reality competition’s best — and worst — moments. Former contestants — including Whitney Thompson, Giselle Samson, Shannon Stewart, Shandi Sullivan, Danielle “Dani” Evans and Keenyah Hill — also opened up about their behind-the-scenes experiences, which they claimed included discrimination and sexual assault.
Curry reacted to the docuseries shortly after its release, accusing Banks of simply feigning her remorse over some of the show’s more controversial and downright detrimental moments.
“I have made respect for Tyra Banks,” Curry said in a sarcastic video shared online. “She is not sorry. She is not apologizing to you. That bitch is not effing sorry. She will not bend the knee. And I respect that.”
She continued at the time, “We want her to lie, lie and say how bad she feels? Everyone’s coming to me and they’re like, ‘None of the judges are sorry.’ Why should they be? They’re all loaded. Why should they give a flying f***, you know? If they didn’t give a f*** at the time, they certainly ain’t gonna give a f*** now.”
Curry concluded the video by addressing Banks.
“Keep on being yourself, which is someone who doesn’t give a flying s***,” she said, before breaking into laughter.

JD Vance and Usha Vance’s Revealing Marriage, Family Quotes
Vice President JD Vance and his wife, second lady Usha Vance, have offered a candid window into their 11-year marriage, their growing family and the unconventional path that has shaped their relationship before and throughout his political career.
JD and Usha met in 2010 while they were students at Yale University’s School of Law, ultimately getting married four years later. The duo welcomed their eldest three children before JD became President Donald Trump’s running mate in the 2024 general election. Later, in 2026, the couple announced that Usha was pregnant and they were expecting their fourth baby.
Keep scrolling for JD and Usha’s candid comments about their life together:
JD and Usha Vance Address Marriage Speculation
After Usha was photographed without her wedding ring in November 2025, online rumors swirled about the state of the couple’s marriage. A representative for Usha previously told People in a November 22 statement that the second lady “is a mother of three young children, who does a lot of dishes, gives lots of baths, and forgets her ring sometimes.”
JD, for his part, shut down the speculation the following month in an interview with NBC News.
“Our marriage is as strong as it’s ever been,” JD said, noting that he and Usha “get a kick out of” the speculation. “With anything in life, you take the good with the bad. You accept that there are some sacrifices and there are some very good things that come along with it, too.”
Usha Vance Opens Up About Baby No. 4
The Vances — who share sons Ewan and Vivek, as well as daughter Mirabel — announced in January 2026 that they are expecting their fourth child, another son.
“People have asked me if we’re going to have a fourth baby, and I’ve never closed the door on that,” Usha told NBC News in a rare interview in March 2026. “We did feel very complete with a third child, in many ways. … But as time passed, I realized that I was feeling more and more excited about that possibility.”
She added, “I knew that I’d be happy if we only had three kids, and I knew that I’d be happy if we had four. And so here we are.”
Usha will be the first second lady to give birth in office since Ellen Colfax in 1870.
JD Vance Credits Charlie Kirk’s Death as a Turning Point to Expand Their Family
In his 2026 memoir, Communion: Finding My Way Back to Faith, JD reveals that the pair’s decision to have another baby came after the death of conservative commentator Charlie Kirk, who was shot and killed in September 2025 at age 31.
“As my wife held Charlie Kirk’s widow on the first day of her terrible sorrow, Erika told Usha between sobs that she regretted having only two kids with Charlie,” JD wrote in the book, which was excerpted by The Wall Street Journal in June 2026.
He continued in the passage, “For years, I’d asked Usha to have another baby, and for years, she told me she was done, especially now that public service had elevated us into the national spotlight. Something changed for Usha, and not long after we buried my friend, she became pregnant with our fourth child, a boy.”
Months earlier, at the 2026 March for Life rally in January 2026, JD framed Usha’s pregnancy as a personal endorsement of his pro-family politics.
“Let the record show, you have a vice president who practices what he preaches,” he said at the time.
Usha Vance Reflects on Faith, Therapy and Her Husband
Usha also offered a rare look at JD’s spiritual journey during a June 2026 episode of CBS’ Sunday Morning, telling correspondent Robert Costa that she once told JD, “Therapy didn’t work for you, church does.”
“It’s not that therapy doesn’t work for other people,” Usha clarified. “JD just didn’t have the right kind of trust in that process. He just didn’t feel at home in it, really exploring some of the feelings that he had in trying to figure out how he wanted to be the person that he wanted to be for the rest of his life.”
JD, who converted to Catholicism in 2019, said his “tumultuous upbringing” in Middletown, Ohio, drove his search for something “rooted” and “grounded.” Despite their interfaith household — Usha follows the Hindu faith — JD has said his wife is “my best friend” and that they have agreed to raise their kids Christian, with respect for free will at the center of their arrangement.
Usha, for her part, is the daughter of immigrant parents from India who was raised in the Hindu faith. They have an interfaith union.
“It’s not like he’s prophesying to me every day,” she said on CBS Sunday Morning.

Tom Hanks’ Eye-Popping Net Worth Is Way Bigger Than You Think
Actor Tom Hanks is best known for his acting roles, but fans might not be aware that he’s also a director, writer, and producer. He is one of the most famous actors in Hollywood, which means he is also one of the best-paid A-listers. The Blast recently reported that “Star Wars” alum and Oscar nominee Adam Driver is worth $23M. How much is Tom Hanks worth? The answer might surprise you!

According to Celebrity Net Worth, Hanks is worth a cool $400 million. That number isn’t all that surprising when you take into account that his current box office gross is approximately $11 billion, as reported by the website. Following the release of “Toy Story 5,” however, that number is likely to rise even further.
In 2020, Hanks was ranked the fourth-highest-grossing American film actor of all time, having earned two Academy Awards, seven Emmy Awards, and four Golden Globes. He’s also been nominated for a Tony Award and five BAFTA Awards. In addition to those honors, he has received several other accolades.
He received the AFI Life Achievement Award in 2002, the Kennedy Center Honor in 2014, the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2016, and the Golden Globe Cecil B. DeMille Award in 2020.
Inside The Actor’s Rise To Fame

Tom Hanks was born Thomas Jeffrey Hanks in July 1956, but he actually has some pretty famous lineage. Hanks is a distant cousin of Nancy Hanks and her son, President Abraham Lincoln. He’s also related to children’s host Fred Rogers, whom Hanks portrayed in 2019’s “A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood.”
After growing up in the Bay Area, Hanks studied theater at Chabot College in Hayward, California, and later transferred to California State University, Sacramento. He later dropped out of college after meeting Vincent Dowling, head of the Great Lakes Theater Festival in Cleveland, Ohio, and began working at the festival. His theater work won him the Cleveland Critics Circle Award for Best Actor for his 1978 performance as Proteus in Shakespeare’s “The Two Gentlemen of Verona.”
From Theater To Movies & TV

The following year, Hanks moved to New York City. His first film appearance was in 1980’s “He Knows You’re Not Alone.” Two years later, he landed a starring role in the TV movie “Mazes and Monsters.” He continued to balance his career in theater and TV, landing one of the lead roles in ABC’s “Bosom Buddies.”
After several small guest roles, Hanks found success in 1988’s “Big.” The performance earned him his first Oscar nomination. After a few flops at the box office, Hanks once again found success with 1992’s “A League of Their Own” and “Sleepless in Seattle.” He later won an Academy Award for Best Actor for his role in “Philadelphia,” in which he played a homosexual lawyer with AIDS who sued his firm for discrimination.
Tom Hanks Is Best Known For Roles Like ‘Forrest Gump’ And ‘Toy Story’

From there, Hanks became a household name. He won his second Oscar for Best Actor for 1994’s “Forrest Gump,” which remains one of his best-known and most-quoted roles. He also starred in the Oscar-winning film “Apollo 13” before going on to voice Sheriff Woody in Pixar’s “Toy Story.” The franchise has proven so successful that “Toy Story 5” was released in June 2026.
Other well-known works include “Saving Private Ryan,” “You’ve Got Mail,” “The Green Mile,” “Cast Away,” “The Terminal,” “The Polar Express,” and many, many more.
Inside Tom Hanks’ Personal Life

Hanks married actress Samantha Lewes in 1978. The couple welcomed a son, Colin, who is also an actor, and a daughter, Elizabeth. They divorced in 1987, and Lewes passed away in 2002 at the age of 49 due to bone cancer.
In 1981, Hanks met actress Rita Wilson on the set of “Bosom Buddies.” They worked together in 1985 on the set of “Volunteers.” The two married in 1988 and have two sons together: Chet and Truman.
Hanks is also a big fan of manual typewriters and has quite an impressive collection. In 2014, Hanks released an iOS app called Hanx Writer, designed to emulate the experience of using a typewriter. In 2017, he released a collection of short stories titled “Uncommon Type,” based on his typewriter collection.

JD and Usha Vance Share Success of Their Interfaith Marriage
Second Lady Usha Vance and Vice President JD Vance are detailing how they’ve managed to make their interfaith marriage work.
“I think people really caught on to the idea, at one point, that JD was interested in my conversion,” Usha, 40, told CBS’ Sunday Morning national correspondent Robert Costa on the Sunday, June 14, episode of the news program. “And I think that was misunderstood for the fundamental reason that he is Catholic, part of his faith is wanting to spread his faith, but it’s not like he’s prophesying to me every day.”
JD, 41, who converted to Catholicism in 2019, sparked near-instant controversy when he admitted that he hopes Usha, the daughter of immigrant parents from India who was raised in the Hindu faith, one day chooses to follow his brand of Christianity.
“For us, it works out now most Sundays — Usha will come with me to church, as I’ve told her, and I’ve said publicly, and I’ll say now in front of 10,000 of my closest friends, do I hope eventually that she is somehow moved by the same thing that I was moved in by the church? Yeah, I honestly, I do wish that, because I believe in the Christian Gospel, and I hope eventually my wife comes to see it the same way,” the vice president said at a 2025 Turning Point USA event.
“But if she doesn’t, then God says everybody has free will, and so that doesn’t cause a problem for me,” he added.

After receiving criticism for his seemingly lack of support for his wife and her religious beliefs, Vance doubled down on his desire to one day see his wife convert to Catholicism.
“My Christian faith tells me the Gospel is true and is good for human beings,” JD wrote via X at the time. “My wife — as I said at the TPUSA — is the most amazing blessing I have in my life. She herself encouraged me to reengage with my faith many years ago. She is not a Christian and has no plans to convert, but like many people in an interfaith marriage — or any interfaith relationship — I hope she may one day see things as I do. Regardless, I’ll continue to love and support her and talk to her about faith and life and everything else, because she’s my wife.”
While speaking to CBS on Sunday, JD admitted that his religious journey has been one rooted in his search for something stabilizing and grounding following his tumultuous upbringing and chaotic childhood.
“I grew up in some ways in a very non-traditional household,” the vice president explained. “Revolving door of people coming in, people coming out. Raised by my grandparents at some points and my parents at some points — my mom, my dad. So there was a certain movement and chaos to my youth. And I do think that I was searching for something that, again, was a little more rooted and a little more stable.”

‘Life Goes On’ Singer Was 32
Singer-songwriter Oliver Tree has reportedly died. He was 32.
Two helicopters crashed into one another in southwest Rio de Janeiro on the morning of Sunday, June 14, according to a same-day report from CNN Brazil. According to the outlet, Tree was one of six fatalities from the reported crash.
Further details about the reported collision have not been revealed. Us Weekly has reached out to a representative for Tree for comment.
Tree, known for songs “Life Goes On” and “Miss You” and amassing more than 2 million social media followers, recently traveled to Brazil for his world tour. He recently performed in São Paulo on June 6 and was set to play in Lisbon, Portugal, on July 13.
Hours before the fatal crash, Tree offered a glimpse of his Brazilian experience via social media.
“Gringo’s 24 hours in Brazil,” the musician wrote in Spanish via Instagram on Saturday, June 14, alongside footage of himself playing soccer, getting a haircut and cooking meat.
Tree’s social media followers have since offered their condolences in the comments section.
“Alien Boy gone back to his home planet 💔🙏🏼,” influencer Robbie Tripp commented on Sunday, while Jared Rolfe added, “Forever will be missed 💙.”
Tree rose to fame in 2016 with the release of his single, “When I’m Down.”
“As an artist, there’s not a lot of new things you can do. Every chord progression has been played [as have] every single lyric [and] rhyming pattern,” Tree said on a December 2023 episode of the “Happy Endings” podcast of his musical career. “It’s, like, there’s only so much that can be done. So for me, the excitement happens in fusion and taking things that don’t fit with another thing.”
He continued at the time, “I’m all about juxtaposition, so you merge things that really shouldn’t go together and find creative ways to blend them.”
As Tree’s popularity grew, he became more selective about scheduling gigs.
“I told the agents this year, I’m like, ‘Yo, this is the new number. If it’s not this number, don’t even bring it.’ I take it as disrespect, and so, I have my standards,” he stated. “This summer I only played five shows, but those shows were, like, double what I got paid last year. … I’s a lot less work for me, I get to do a lot less traveling and I can go and spend, you know, three weeks traveling across Europe just for fun. As I do those moves, I’m getting smarter about it.”
In addition to his one-of-a-kind music, Tree was known for rocking a signature bowl cut and mullet.
“[The mullet] is a 360 party all the time,” he said on the podcast episode in 2023. “I want to do the bowl cut again, but then cut the top part out.”

Bridget Moynahan Gives Shout-Out to Tom Brady After Reunion
Bridget Moynahan gave her ex Tom Brady a subtle shoutout after the pair reunited to celebrate their son John “Jack” Edward Thomas Moynahan’s high school graduation.
“So proud of our boy Jack,” Moynahan, 55, wrote via Instagram on Sunday, June 14, alongside a slew of photos from her son’s high school graduation. “We are all excited to see what you do next!”
Moynahan tagged her ex Brad, 48, in the post, giving another subtle nod with the hashtags #wedidit and #proudparents.
One of the photos shared in honor of her son’s academic achievement featured the exes standing on either side of their son, proudly smiling for the camera. The same photo was shared one day earlier by Brady, who also marked his son’s graduation with a touching social media post.
“One of the proudest days of my life, watching Jack walk across the stage, and graduate into the next chapter of what’s already an impressive life,” the former New England Patriots quarterback wrote via Instagram on Saturday, June 13. “You are an amazing son, brother, grandson, nephew, and friend amongst many other things. What makes me happiest is knowing who you are when no one is watching. The way you show up for your friends. The way you check on people having a hard day. The love you give our family, and the fact that you still let me win in 1v1 every once in a while.”
The legendary NFL star continued, “This isn’t an ending. It’s a starting line. Whatever you chase next we know you’ll find success in. Take the risks. Be kind. Be yourself. And know your family and friends are always right behind you cheering the loudest because you do the same for everybody else! We love you.”
Brady and Moynahan welcomed Jack in August 2007, one year after the former couple called it quits. Brady also shares two children, son Benjamin and daughter Vivian, with his ex-wife, model Gisele Bündchen. The pair divorced in October 2022 after 13 years of marriage.
“I’m so grateful for [Bridget],” Bündchen, 45, told People back in 2018, admitting that meeting Brady when his ex-girlfriend was pregnant with his first child was not ideal. “I know this was hard, but I couldn’t imagine my life without [Jack]. I call him my bonus child.”
Moynahan has also been candid about the pair’s coparenting relationship and blended families, telling People in 2019 that she’s happy with the makeup of her family.
“Tom and I made a decision to raise a child together and we both found partners that not only supported us in raising that child, but also loved our child as if he was their own,” she said at the time. “I don’t think you can ask for more than that.”
