Kacey Musgraves’ Stage Catches Fire Mid-Show

Kacey Musgraves found herself standing beneath an unexpected fire during her Boston concert, but she managed to keep the crowd entertained while the potentially dangerous situation unfolded above her. A small blaze ignited near a lighting fixture in the stage rafters as the country singer performed her 2018 hit “Golden Hour.” The timing was almost too perfect, as the song features the lyric “you set my world on fire” and Musgraves’ planned pyrotechnics were already sending sparks across the stage.

Concertgoer Daniel Preda captured footage of the incident and shared it on Instagram. In the video, a light fixture above the stage could be seen flickering with flames as Musgraves looked toward the rafters.

The 38-year-old singer initially appeared to assess whether the blaze was part of the production before realizing something had gone wrong. “That looks bad. Genuinely, something’s on fire,” she told the audience.

Musgraves then joked about the potential danger of standing underneath the flames while wearing highly flammable styling products. “I have way too much hairspray to be standing under that sh-t.”

Although the unexpected fire interrupted the concert, Musgraves remained onstage and continued speaking with the audience.

Country Singer Admits The Fire Was Giving Her Anxiety

Musgraves attempted to redirect the conversation toward the creation of her latest album, but the flames above her remained difficult to ignore. She acknowledged that the situation was making her anxious, particularly because it was not part of the production she had rehearsed. “I only like pyro when I know what’s going to happen,” the singer-songwriter joked.

Musgraves then asked if anyone had an appropriately glamorous piece of firefighting equipment nearby. “Does anybody have a bedazzled fire extinguisher anywhere?”

Her comments earned laughs as she kept the audience calm and entertained throughout the mishap. No injuries were reported in the supplied account, and there was no additional information about what caused the fire.

The pyrotechnic scare was not the only emotional moment during Musgraves’ Boston tour stop. Elsewhere in the concert, she paid tribute to Dolly Parton, who died on Tuesday, August 25, at age 80.

Musgraves performed her own song “Rainbow” before covering Parton’s 1977 hit “Here You Come Again.” Before beginning the tribute, she reflected on how people had been remembering Parton in the days following her death. “I think the most amazing thing about all this is not anybody mentioning the Grammys [Parton won], the accolades, or any of that.”

Musgraves said the most important part of Parton’s legacy was not the awards or industry recognition she accumulated throughout her career, saying, “It’s what a humanitarian [Parton was].”

The audience responded with cheers as Musgraves continued describing the qualities she admired in the country music legend.

Musgraves had already expressed her heartbreak on social media after learning about Parton’s passing. “Dolly,” she wrote alongside a broken heart emoji. “This really really hurts.”

She followed that message with another tribute focused on the joy and glamour Parton brought to the world. “The world feels a lot less sparkly all of a sudden.”

Musgraves also found comfort in the belief that Parton had been reunited with her late husband, Carl Dean. “So glad she’s finally with her Carl Dean. No one talk to me today.”

Dean died in 2025 after 59 years of marriage to Parton. The singer’s parents, Avie Lee Caroline Owens and Robert Lee Parton Sr., also died before her.

Scott Wolf subtly shared his support after his estranged wife, Kelley Wolf, issued an emotional apology following their ongoing divorce battle.

After Kelley, 49, shared a lengthy statement via Instagram on Friday, August 28, the Party of Five alum, 58, responded in the comments section.

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️,” Scott simply replied.

Kelley’s other famous friends issued their support, as well.

Scott Wolf’s estranged wife, Kelley Wolf, is speaking out about the pair’s ongoing divorce and legal drama. “Wow, I have taken about 100 deep breaths to write this. How do I even start? It’s been a year since I recognized what everyone around me could see: I was not well, and I needed help,” Kelley, […]

“Such powerful and thoughtful and important words. Thank you for your vulnerability. There is healing in that, as you know so well. Love you. ❤️,” Trista Sutter added, while Billy Bush succinctly stated, “Kell … I love you. That’s it.”

Scott and Kelley announced in June 2025 that they had separated after 21 years of marriage. After filing for divorce that month, the Nancy Drew alum was granted temporary sole custody of the pair’s three children while Kelley was placed on involuntary psychiatric hold. Months later, Scott was granted a temporary protective order after Kelley allegedly shared his phone number via social media. (The order was dismissed earlier this year, shortly before the exes reunited for a family outing with their kids in February.)

In her Friday statement, Kelley claimed that she had “no awareness” of her actions.

“I was completely delusional, and it was hitting critical mass,” she alleged on Friday. “After a year of working with incredible doctors, therapists, psychologists and healers, I have an answer.”

Kelley explained that she has since been “diagnosed as breakthrough drug-induced mania with psychosis.”

“[It] means it had never happened before, and I pray never again — caused by stress, past trauma, hormonal shifts and hallucinogens mixed with prescribed medications,” she wrote. “A perfect storm. I won’t recount all of the chaos, but what has burdened my soul is my need to say … I am so sorry.”

Elsewhere in her statement, Kelley apologized to Scott directly.

“My husband of 20 years was taken through a nightmare that wouldn’t even fly in a movie script; it was so brutal,” the life coach stated. “The things I did, said, wrote and posted caused profound harm and were not based in truth or reality, and they caused pain I could never imagine to the people I love the most.”

According to Kelley, she will “never be the same” for allegedly causing her family “enormous pain.”

“[To] Scott and my kids, there won’t be a day that I don’t thank God for you. Causing you pain and being the reason you suffered will haunt me for the rest of my life,” she concluded. “It was my job to protect you, honor you and keep you safe, and I became the cause of your heartbreak. I am sorry. You never gave up on me, and you fought like hell until you landed me in safe harbor. I owe you my life.”

Apple TV’s Newest 8-Episode Crime Thriller Is Putting a Twist on the Heist Formula

Published

on

Jamie Dornan and Jack Kesy in 12 12 12

Heist stories tend to have a predictable structure. You watch a crew assemble, learn the plan, see everything inevitably go wrong, and then spend the final act wondering whether anyone will make it out with the money. Apple TV’s upcoming crime thriller 12 12 12 has a different idea: What if the heist itself was only one part of the story?

Featuring Anthony Mackie and Jamie Dornan in lead roles, 12 12 12 is an eight-part series that revolves around several distinct timelines related to the big robbery. The series revolves around the 12 months of planning for the heist, the 12 hours during which the robbery takes place, and the 12 days after the heist. The show’s structure gives the series plenty of room to explore the preparation and fallout that usually get compressed into a few scenes, while still delivering the elaborate robbery at the center of the story.

What Is Apple TV’s ’12 12 12′ About?

Jamie Dornan and Jack Kesy in 12 12 12

The series follows a disgraced FBI agent, played by Mackie, and an American career criminal, played by Dornan, as they become locked in a cat-and-mouse chase across Europe. Their pursuit eventually converges on a bank vault buried deep beneath the streets of Zurich.

There’s a familiar good-versus-bad setup here, but 12 12 12 appears more curious about the machinery surrounding a heist than simply asking whether the criminals can pull it off. The year leading up to the robbery allows the series to dig into how an operation of this scale comes together, while the hours during the heist can deliver the inevitable pressure-cooker thrills. Then comes the part most heist stories tend to rush through: what happens once the job is over.

Each installment moves between the three timelines, connecting the planning, execution, and aftermath of the same crime. It’s an unusually expansive way to tell a heist story, particularly for a genre that often treats the setup as a means of getting to the big job.

Anthony Mackie and Jamie Dornan Lead ’12 12 12’s Cast

Mackie and Dornan headline the series, with both actors also serving as executive producers. Mackie plays the disgraced FBI agent chasing Dornan’s criminal across Europe, putting the two at opposite ends of the law while giving the show a central rivalry to build around.

The supporting cast includes Jack Kesy, Agathe Rousselle, Sallie Harmsen, José Garcia, Kali Reis, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson, and Patrick Fabian, among others. Reis, in particular, arrives with recent genre and prestige-TV experience following roles in True Detective and Mercy. Mackie and Dornan aren’t exactly strangers, either; the pair previously appeared together in the 2019 science-fiction film Synchronic, making 12 12 12 a reunion of sorts. This time, however, they’re on opposite sides of a massive criminal operation.

Dudi Appleton and Jim Keeble created 12 12 12 and serve as executive producers. The pair also wrote several episodes, with additional scripts coming from Samantha Corbin-Miller, Joe Murtagh, Jamie Carragher, and Tolula Dada. Kari Skogland is directing the pilot and several episodes and is the executive producer of the project. The director has experience working in a large-scale franchise, having directed several episodes of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier — and has worked with Mackie before.

When Does 12 12 12 Premiere on Apple TV?

12 12 12 premieres globally on Friday, November 13, 2026, with the first two episodes arriving together. After that, Apple TV will release one new episode every Friday. The release dates for the series follow through the holidays, with Episode 3 coming on November 20th, followed by episodes on November 27th, December 4th, December 11th, December 18th, and then December 25th, 2026. The entire series, consisting of eight episodes, will take place over six weeks.

Apple TV has already offered a first look at the series, giving viewers a glimpse of Mackie’s FBI agent and Dornan’s criminal as the elaborate operation takes shape. The footage also reinforces the show’s central concept: This isn’t simply a story about what happens when someone breaks into a vault. It’s about everything that has to happen before the doors open — and everything that happens after they close.

12 12 12 could be one of Apple’s more intriguing crime dramas to close out 2026. The heist may be the hook, but the real experiment is stretching the story around it. By giving the planning and aftermath nearly as much importance as the robbery itself, the series has an opportunity to turn a familiar crime-thriller setup into something considerably more ambitious.

Kacey Musgraves’ Tribute To Dolly Parton Is A Fan ‘Favorite’

Published

on

North American country music singer Kacey Musgraves performs at the Jaguariuna Rodeo

Kacey Musgraves turned a Boston concert into a heartfelt farewell to Dolly Parton just days after her death.

During her “Middle of Nowhere” tour stop in Boston, Musgraves performed the late iconic country singer’s 1977 hit “Here You Come Again.”

Kacey Musgraves has long spoken about Dolly Parton’s influence on her music, style, and approach to being a woman in country music. The country singer had access to Parton’s archives in 2015.

Musgraves appeared in a black shiny jumpsuit and introduced the moment by saying, “I wanna do a favorite song of hers.” Musgraves’ two-song tribute began with “Rainbow,” a song of her own that she dedicated to Parton. She then paired it with “Here You Come Again,” giving the crowd a chance to sing along with one of Parton’s best-known songs.

The performance took place during Musgraves’ Middle of Nowhere Tour stop in Boston. The timing made the tribute especially emotional for fans who were still processing the loss. Fans reacted strongly to the music performance. One person said, “Forever my favorite Dolly song.”

Another fan said, “One of my favorite artists, singing my favorite Dolly song in my favorite city. I’ll never get past losing her.” A fan who was moved by the country singer’s performance begged her to keep the tribute throughout her tour.

The singer’s tribute seems to be everyone’s favorite, making one of the commenters on Instagram compare her to Parton: “She’s our generation’s Dolly,” the fan wrote.

Musgraves Previously Said Parton Was One Of A Kind

Musgraves’ admiration for Parton was already clear years before the latest tribute. In a 2021 interview, she discussed the immense influence Parton had on her as an artist and as a woman. The conversation showed why performing Parton’s music carried such significance after her death.

Musgraves said she loved Parton as a style icon and a businesswoman. She also admired how Parton embraced being a beautiful, sexy woman while remaining proud of her femininity and body. Musgraves praised her for never feeling pressured to shrink her flamboyant personality around the men in the industry.

The singer also recalled Parton’s determination to make her own choices. During the Rolling Stone interview with Alex Morris, Musgraves referenced the story that Parton was reportedly told not to marry on a Friday, only to marry on Saturday anyway.

Musgraves said Parton essentially had the attitude of doing what she wanted and doing it “fabulously,” while building a career that would last into her 70s and beyond.

How The 38-Year-Old Singer Reacted To Her Hero’s Death

Parton’s death made Musgraves’ latest tribute even more emotional. The singer reacted to the news by writing Dolly with a heartbreak emoji. “This really really hurts,” she wrote on X before adding that the world suddenly felt “a lot less sparkly.” She also expressed comfort in the thought of Parton being reunited with her husband, Carl Dean.

Dean died in March 2025, and Musgraves referenced their reunion while mourning Parton. She later asked people not to speak to her that day as she processed the loss. Musgraves once described Parton as one of her heroes and recalled being allowed into her fashion archives in 2015.

The archive contained clothing, jewelry, and shoes Parton had worn since 1967, with each item labeled and photographed. Their history also included the 2019 Grammy tribute honoring Parton. Musgraves and Katy Perry opened that performance with “Here You Come Again,” before Parton joined the other performers for “9 to 5,” as shared by Parade.

Three days after Parton’s death, about a dozen relatives reportedly gathered at Woodlawn Memorial Park and Mausoleum in Nashville. They arrived carrying flowers as the family prepared for Parton to be laid to rest beside Dean. The Blast reported that it remained unclear whether the gathering was the official funeral or another private memorial.

Among those seen at the cemetery was Bryan Seaver, Parton’s nephew and longtime head of security. Seaver had announced her death for the family and reportedly coordinated with police and security personnel before greeting relatives. One insider described the cemetery as “crawling with cops,” while an officer reportedly said the family was on its way.

Parton had previously requested a small, private service for immediate family. She was set to rest beside Dean, who died in March 2025 at 82 after their 58-year marriage. Their tomb already carried Parton’s name, while the memorial featured a peaceful mountain landscape inspired by their Tennessee roots.

The couple first met outside the Wishy Washy Laundromat after Parton moved to Nashville at 18. The Blast reported that they married in 1966 and remained together until Dean’s death. Woodlawn Memorial Park is also the final resting place of Dean’s parents, as well as country figures Porter Wagoner and Tammy Wynette.

What Does Dolly Parton Want To Be Remembered For?

Dolly Parton
News Licensing / MEGA

Parton had revealed decades before her death that she wanted her legacy to center on children’s literacy rather than her looks or music. In a 1982 interview with Barbara Walters, she said, “If I’m remembered 100 years from now, I hope it will be not for looks but for books.”

That vision became the Imagination Library, which began in 1995 through the Dollywood Foundation. The program was inspired by her father, Robert Lee Parton Sr., who could not read or write. It initially sent free books to children in Sevier County, Tennessee, before growing into an international literacy program.

The program now sends personalized, age-appropriate books to children from birth through age five across five countries. It has reportedly distributed hundreds of millions of books, while Ireland alone sends more than 1.3 million free books to participating children each month.

The Blast revealed that Parton once recalled how much her father enjoyed seeing children receive the books and call her “The Book Lady.” She later encouraged Imagination Library graduates to dream big, learn everything they could, and care for those who cared for them. Her family has since asked fans to make donations to the Imagination Library instead of sending flowers.

Rest in peace, Dolly Parton!

The Washington Commanders have fired tight ends coach Ben Steele following a June arrest in which he was charged for driving while intoxicated. “We are parting ways with tight ends coach Ben Steele,” the Commanders wrote in a statement shared via X on Monday, July 27. “The team will have no further comment at this […]

Just hours earlier, Allen made his preseason debut with the Colts during their Saturday, August 29, home game against the Detroit Lions. (The Colts ultimately lost 25-16.)

Allen, who spent his first 11 seasons with the Los Angeles Chargers before he was traded to the Chicago Bears in 2024, signed with the Colts earlier this month.

“Definitely looking forward to playing, ready to play and, obviously, Shane [Steichen]‘s my guy,” Allen said in an August 19 press conference, referring to the Colts head coach. “We go way back. So, having that connection and just the familiarity … and being able to come in and plug and play.”

At the time, Allen was looking forward to suiting up with the Indiana team.

“[I can help by] doing what I do, making plays, moving the chains, being there for the quarterbacks,” he said. “Being a veteran, [I am someone that] somebody that can ask questions, look forward to and just kind of show ‘em.”

Allen continued, “Any way I can help the team, [I am] coming in ready to play, making sure I do what I do and let Shane and Danny [Jones, the quarterback] and all those guys figure that out.”

As for his dynamic with coach Steichen, Allen revealed their history extends back to his “rookie year” in the NFL.

“Our relationship goes back, just learning the game with Shane through the coaches that we had and just being able to have similar minds and understand the same type of football,” Allen recalled. “He’s a genius in itself, he knows the ins and outs and, like, the way that he knows the game, I know the game as well. That’s how I was raised in the NFL world, you know, learning that game.”

While teasing his plans with the Colts, the six-time Pro Bowler hinted that he was “definitely ready to go” in time for the 2026-2027 season.

Nicole Kidman is proving to be in touch with her fan base as she gave a huge shoutout to rising Slovakian singer-songwriter Adéla, promising to see her perform live after learning the musician named a song after her.

The Oscar winner has a unique type of relationship with her fans, as she previously distanced herself, saying she doesn’t want to be anyone’s role model.

Kidman has been in the news over her broken marriage to singer Keith Urban but has set her sights on moving on.

Nicole Kidman acknowledged fast-rising singer Adéla, who named a song after her on her upcoming album “PRIMA,” excitedly revealing that she plans to attend her live performance soon.

The surprise moment happened on Wednesday, August 26, at the London premiere of “Practical Magic 2,” where a fan caught Kidman on camera and asked if she knew who Adéla was.

The 59-year-old actress initially looked confused, but as soon as the fan mentioned that Adéla wrote a track titled “Nicole Kidman,” the actress’s face lit up.

“Oh, yes! She is! I do know!” Kidman said with a smile. “I think she’s Slovakian, right? I absolutely know who she is, and she’s coming to Nashville, and I’m going to go see her!”

Adéla Has Epic Reaction To Kidman’s Shoutout

The unexpected endorsement could not have come at a better time for Adéla. The pop artist, who first gained attention as a contestant on the 2023 reality TV show Dream Academy, is gearing up to release her debut album, “PRIMA,” on September 4, per Billboard.

The 11-track project features her breakout Billboard Hot 100 hit “Ain’t in LA,” with “Nicole Kidman” placed as the second track.

She’s currently on her Red Bottoms Tour and is set to perform at The Basement East in Nashville on September 21.

Reports from her Instagram fan page @adeladiary reveal that the 22-year-old singer couldn’t contain her joy upon seeing Kidman’s reaction, commenting, “WOW OH MY GOD NICOLE WOW OH MY GOD HOLY SH-T WOW.”

Kidman has a special kind of relationship with her fans as she makes an effort to constantly distance herself from what they say or do.

Back in 2024, she reacted to fan worries about her weight loss, saying she’s not interested in think pieces and comments from third parties, adding that she doesn’t want to be a role model to anyone.

“I don’t want to be a role model for anyone, I’m not interested in that,” she told Vogue Australia at the time.

The “Babygirl” actress seemingly clapped back at those who “box” her in with “rules and expectations,” saying she doesn’t care about all that.

“I keep a lot of distance between me and what everyone thinks or wants or how I’m meant to behave,” she continued. “I try to keep a shield around me.”

Years ago, the “Big Little Lies” star used to have a no-fan-photo rule to protect her children, Sunday and Faith, whom she shares with now-ex-husband Keith Urban.

During a conversation on TODAY at the time, she explained that she wouldn’t give up any part of her fame but wasn’t conflicted about it and didn’t give in to all the demands fans make.

It was then that she revealed that she doesn’t take pictures with fans when she and her equally famous then-husband are out with their family.

“Our kids don’t understand what we do,” she explained. “So for them, it’s just, ‘Why is this stranger taking a photo of you?’ And it’s very discombobulating for them.”

Kidman and Urban have since gone their separate ways after the “Lioness” actress filed for divorce on September 30, 2025, in Nashville, Tennessee.

Reports were rife that she didn’t want to throw in the towel on their marriage, which lasted for 20 years.

In a recent interview with British Vogue, she spoke about approaching the next phase of her life with grace, as things didn’t pan out as she wanted.

“Trying things, making mistakes, failing, getting back up, moving on, embracing love, staying open, keeping the heart open and the possibilities,” she said.

“You make all these plans, and you have all these ideas of what it’s all going to be like, and then it’s…not. You have to adjust. You adapt,” she added.

Tom Hardy Drops Debut Rap Album as Frankie Pulitzer With Busta Rhymes and Method Man

Tom Hardy Drops Debut Rap Album as Frankie Pulitzer With Busta Rhymes and Method Man

Tom Hardy has played some of Hollywood’s most memorable characters, but his latest project takes him completely outside the world of movies.

Hardy has officially released his debut studio rap album under his longtime hip-hop alter ego Frankie Pulitzer, teaming with underground supergroup Czarface for the 15-track Czarface Meets Frankie Pulitzer.

And this isn’t simply a celebrity deciding to make a novelty rap album.

Hardy is joined by some serious hip-hop heavyweights, with Busta Rhymes, Method Man and El-P among the artists appearing on the project.

Czarface itself comes with plenty of hip-hop credibility. The group consists of Wu-Tang Clan’s Inspectah Deck, 7L and Esoteric, and has previously collaborated with artists including MF DOOM and Ghostface Killah.

Tom Hardy aka Frankie Pulitzer

Hardy’s Frankie Pulitzer persona may be unfamiliar to many of his movie fans, but his connection to hip-hop goes back decades.

Long before becoming one of Hollywood’s biggest stars, Hardy recorded music in the late 1990s under the name Tommy No. 1, working with producer Edward Tracy, aka Eddie Too Tall. The pair recorded a mixtape titled Falling on Your Arse in 1999, which remained largely unheard by the public until resurfacing online years later.

Hardy has also quietly worked with Czarface before, making Czarface Meets Frankie Pulitzer less of a sudden career change and more of the culmination of a musical side project he has been developing for years.

The album is also packed with the kind of pop culture references you might expect from a collaboration with Czarface, with references ranging from comics and movies to recognizable Hollywood names.

Tom Hardy [Kristina Bumphrey/Variety]

Hardy has previously spoken about his early ambitions as a rapper, revealing that music was something he seriously pursued before his acting career took off.

Now, more than 25 years after those early recordings, Frankie Pulitzer finally has a full-length album.

Czarface Meets Frankie Pulitzer was released August 28 and features 15 tracks, giving fans an entirely different side of the actor known for Venom, Mad Max: Fury Road, The Revenant and The Dark Knight Rises.

Hardy may be one of Hollywood’s most recognizable actors, but Frankie Pulitzer makes it pretty clear that his interest in hip-hop was never just a passing hobby.

Fans Remember Chadwick Boseman Six Years Later

Chadwick Boseman attends the 2017 American Music Awards

Six years after his sad passing, fans are remembering the life and legacy of actor Chadwick Boseman, who died on August 28, 2020, at the age of 43 after a private four-year battle with colon cancer.

His death has left his family embroiled in a legal battle after his brothers took his widow, Taylor Simone Ledward, to court over her handling of his multimillion-dollar estate.

Ledward previously spoke about moving on, saying she was sure Boseman wouldn’t want her life to be all about his legacy.

Friday, August 28, marked exactly six years since actor Chadwick Boseman passed away at 43 years old after secretly battling colon cancer.

Fans flooded social media with heartwarming messages to honor the Black Panther star.

“Rest in Peace, Chadwick A King on and off screen… Wakanda Forever,” a Reddit user wrote, while another added in part, “A beautiful person and an incredible actor. I still get annoyed at the nasty rumours and judgement he faced while battling cancer privately.”

Someone else wrote, “Decent man, inside and out. When he found out that his costar, Sienna Miller, was getting a significantly smaller paycheck for the same movie, he compensated from his own pocket. One in a million. Miss him.”

Another user was shocked by how fast the years have gone by, saying they “can’t believe it’s been six years already.”

Boseman’s Kindness Lives On Beyond His Films

Boseman’s legacy goes beyond his appearances in several hit movies, but also the smiles he helped put on the faces of many through his caring personality.

While going through his own battle with cancer, he donated his time to work with a few cancer foundations and regularly visited St. Jude and other children’s hospitals to surprise young fans.

In 2020, he donated $4.2 million worth of PPE equipment to hospitals serving the Black community at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. He reportedly donated $10,000 to the Boys and Girls Club of Harlem to allow kids to see the Black Panther movie for free.

Even his fellow actors were not left out of his goodwill. When co-starring in the 2019 film 21 Bridges, Boseman quietly donated a portion of his own salary to co-star Sienna Miller so she would be compensated fairly after the studio refused her rate, per the BBC.

Chadwick Boseman’s Brothers Sue His Widow Over Estate

His death has seemingly taken a toll on the relationship between members of his family. Back in July, his brothers Derrick and Kevin Boseman took his widow, Taylor Simone Ledward, to court over her handling of his estate.

The brothers filed a petition with a Los Angeles court to force her to share money with family members and also remove her as sole controller of his estate, per the BBC.

They claimed she “cannot be trusted with the continued administration of the estate” and has not been forthright in the fair distribution of the funds.

Boseman’s Widow Accused Of Withholding His Parents’ Money

According to the news outlet, court documents showed that the late star had assets worth $3.8 million but died without a will.

A court previously ruled that Ledward gets 50% of the estate, with 25% to each of his parents. She was also appointed sole administrator of the assets.

The brothers made the filing on behalf of their parents, claiming Boseman’s widow “has still not distributed the estate” and “continues to exert unilateral control” over it.

They also accused her of not being transparent about the workings of his assets, and of keeping their parents “in the dark” about the operations of the company looking after his image rights.

The situation is said to be “causing ongoing harm” to his parents and depriving them “of financial assets at a vulnerable age when such support is most critical.”

Taylor Simone Ledward Once Opened Up About Moving On

In a 2022 interview, Boseman’s widow spoke about moving on from his death and finding her own fulfillment, per ABC News. She acknowledged that the loss had been challenging, explaining that on some days things are good, while on others, they’re bad.

Ledward stated that she was focused on keeping his legacy but dispelled the “misconception that you have to do something big.”

“It doesn’t have to be something big,” she said, explaining that “what ends up being something big, actually, is that you carry them in your life.”

At the time, she added that she doesn’t believe Boseman would have wanted her to leave her own stuff behind and let his legacy overshadow her dreams.

“I know that Chad would never want me to make the rest of my life about his life, you know?” she added.

The 8 Greatest Shows With Fewer Than 50 Episodes

Published

on

Black Sails Season 4, Episode 1

TV shows are a great way to spend time, with viewers immersing themselves in a plethora of stories, from grand fantastical plots like Game of Thrones to prestigious crime thrillers such as The Sopranos. However, those two TV shows are known for being pretty long, and while that can be fun, sometimes viewers want something not too long, but also not too short.

There is no set benchmark, but 50 is a nice number that can also fit plenty of storytelling while not being too long for some viewers. That is why this list will feature the best TV shows that have fewer than 50 episodes based on aspects such as fan opinion, entertainment value, originality, pacing, critical acclaim, directing, writing, and overall quality. These are the best shows on television for fans who want a good story but don’t want to spend months watching it.

Boasting 38 episodes, Black Sails has a nice pace with a good number of episodes to tell everything they want while not going overboard. One way for fans to be sure that a show is less than 50 episodes is to choose a miniseries, which is why this list features a couple, including Chernobyl, based on the titular disaster. After the terrifying event happens, everyone mobilizes to deal with it, and that is what this show chronicles. From the first responders to the locals nearby to the ones in charge of planning the cleanup, it details the historical event in incredible detail.

Chernobyl is only a miniseries with five episodes, but that means viewers can binge it in a single day or two. This series acts like a real-life horror film, detailing the tragic disaster with a haunting authenticity that will stick with viewers for a long time. Fans can take anything they want out of it, from fascinating historical truth to the tragedy it left behind to the incompetence that started it to the implications it left for the future. Chernobyl is a flawless modern miniseries that is a short, but heavy binge.

The unexplained is always fascinating, building a strong mystery from start to finish, including The Leftovers. The Sudden Departure was a global event where 2% of the world’s population suddenly disappeared without a trace, leaving the rest of the world in shock. Three years later, the residents of Mapleton struggle to rebuild their lives and deal with the trauma while searching for meaning amid the chaos, cults, and coping.

Fans may want to learn more about the Sudden Departure and that grand mystery it proposes, but The Leftovers focuses on an entirely different part of the story, specifically the grief of those remaining. It is both touching, relatable, and completely surreal, delivering a unique mix of themes and motivations that create such a phenomenal show. The Leftovers is fairly underrated, but with a solid 28 episodes, more people need to experience this masterpiece.

Your Fate Has Been Calculated
You’d Survive In…

Your answers point to the world your instincts were built for. This is the universe your temperament, your survival instincts, and your particular brand of stubbornness were made for.

The Resistance, Zion

The Matrix

You took the red pill a long time ago — probably before anyone offered it to you. You’re a systems thinker who can’t help but notice the seams in things.

  • You’re drawn to understanding how the system works before figuring out how to break it.
  • You’d find the Resistance, or it would find you — your instinct for spotting constructed realities is the machines’ worst nightmare.
  • You function best when you have access to information and the freedom to act on it.
  • The Matrix built an airtight prison. You’d be the one probing the walls for the door.

The Wasteland

Mad Max

The wasteland doesn’t reward the clever or the well-connected — it rewards those who are hard to kill and harder to break. That’s you.

  • You don’t need comfort, community, or a cause larger than the next horizon.
  • You need a vehicle, a clear threat, and enough fuel to outrun it — and you’re good at all three.
  • You are unsentimental enough to survive that world, and decent enough — just barely — to be something more than another raider.
  • In the wasteland, that distinction is everything.

Los Angeles, 2049

Blade Runner

You’d survive here because you know how to exist in moral grey areas without losing yourself completely.

  • You read people accurately, keep your circle small, and ask the questions others prefer not to answer.
  • In a city where humanity is a legal designation rather than a feeling, you hold onto something that keeps you functional.
  • You’re not a hero. But you’re not lost, either.
  • In Blade Runner’s world, that distinction is everything.

Arrakis

Dune

Arrakis is the most hostile environment in the known universe — and you are precisely the kind of person it rewards.

  • Patience, discipline, and political awareness are your core strengths — and on Arrakis, they’re survival tools.
  • You understand that the long game matters more than any single victory.
  • Others come to Dune and are consumed by it. You’d learn its logic and earn its respect.
  • In time, you wouldn’t just survive Arrakis — you’d begin to reshape it.

A Galaxy Far, Far Away

Star Wars

The galaxy far, far away is vast, loud, and in a constant state of violent political upheaval — and you wouldn’t have it any other way.

  • You find meaning in being part of something larger than yourself — a cause, a crew, a rebellion.
  • You’d gravitate toward the Rebellion, or the fringes, or whatever pocket of the galaxy still believes the Empire’s grip can be broken.
  • You fight — not because you have to, but because standing aside isn’t something you’re capable of.
  • In Star Wars, that willingness is what makes all the difference.

‘Mr. Robot’ (2015–2019)

A lot of these TV shows so far are under 50 episodes, but they have fewer than some expected as well; for fans wanting something a little closer to 50, they should enjoy Mr. Robot, which boasts 45 episodes. Elliot Alderson (Rami Malek) is a brilliant cybersecurity engineer, but when he is reached out to by the titular hacking organization, he decides to join them in the fight against the largest conglomerate in the world.

Mr. Robot has established itself as one of the best modern TV shows through its phenomenal acting, tight writing, and fascinating characters. Not only does it portray one of the best examples of hacking on television, but its depiction of mental health in its characters is also top-notch, authentic, and subtle. Mr. Robot is a bundle of writing prestige that shows the best and worst of its characters and an intriguing plot.

War never changes, and despite it being the largest pressing matter in the world, it is still fascinating to watch stories about it, including miniseries such as Band of Brothers. It is a prestigious miniseries that follows Easy Company during the Second World War, chronicling their history from their very first training session all the way to the end of the war in gruesome detail while also showcasing the soldiers and their personal lives.

No war series gives fans a better look at the battle and the personal state of the soldiers like Band of Brothers, which gives an in-depth view of their struggles and daily life during the war. The intimate cinematography makes the style even more immersive, putting viewers right into battle with technical innovation. Band of Brothers is a landmark in television and arguably the best miniseries of all time.

‘Twin Peaks’ (1990–2017)

David Lynch is one of the most acclaimed directors of all time, known for films such as Mulholland Drive. However, he also delved into television with Twin Peaks, which earns a spot on this list. After the brutal murder of a high school student, FBI agent Dale Cooper (Kyle MacLachlan) travels to an isolated, yet quaint town where something surreal and supernatural lies beneath the quiet village aesthetic.

Twin Peaks had a brief revival in 2017 that added a bunch of new episodes, but that luckily didn’t add too many, keeping it right below 50 with 48 episodes. Before Twin Peaks, TV was simply made for entertainment, but this show proved that it could be as weird, profound, and artistic as cinema, like Lynch’s other arthouse films. Not only that, but the revival completely redefined the show again with bizarre storytelling and uncompromising themes that cemented itself as one of the best shows on television.

‘Dark’ (2017–2020)

As mentioned, not all perfect TV shows are from Hollywood; some come from foreign studios, and one of the best under 50 episodes is Dark, originating in Germany. After the sudden and sad disappearance of a child, the whole town searches for any clues, but things start to get weirder by the day. When Jonas (Louis Hofmann) finds a cave that takes him into the past, he realizes the disappearance might be connected after he learns it wasn’t the first one.

Time travel is extremely difficult to write with zero flaws, yet somehow, Dark accomplished this task with storytelling prestige. With no plot holes or loose ends, it creates an interconnected mystery where everything is related to one another. The characters are engaging, and the mystery only deepens with each episode, delving into more unique territories, proving Dark is 26 episodes of pure masterful intrigue and writing.

LIONESS

James Jordan is weighing in after offscreen concerns that Lioness won’t return after season 3.

“I certainly hope we return. I love playing this character,” Jordan, 47, who plays Two Cups, exclusively told Us. “I love going to work with these fantastic actors and great human beings. It’s a joy to go to work with them.”

Jordan had high hopes for the future, adding, “It’s always a pleasure to tell Taylor [Sheridan]’s stories. He’s my favorite writer in the world and in our business. There’s no one like him and I love bringing these characters to life.”

He continued, “So I hope we can go do another season. As long as that audience shows up and as long as people show up on Sunday night and say, ‘Where are we going next? Where’s the next fight going to take us?’ We’re going to keep making this show.”

The spy thriller, created by Sheridan, follows the leader of a CIA team who enlists female operatives — known as Lionesses — to go undercover in the ongoing war on terror.

The season 3 premiere pivoted away from introducing a new Lioness into the fold. Instead, the team will focus on their mission with Joe (Zoe Saldaña) as a dual timeline plays out the rest of the season.

“It’s cool because you get to see these folks as operators — tactically speaking — when they’re in that QRF mode. They are kicking down the doors and shooting the bad guys. We get to see this other skill set that they have,” Jordan noted. “They are going undercover where they are slipping in and out of different personalities and worlds while maintaining focus on the most important mission we’ve had — and that’s getting Joe back.”

Jordan was excited for fans to see how Lioness would keep shaking things up.

“The first season, the fight took us to the sea. The second season, the fight took us to the air and the third season, the fights come home,” he teased. “The bad guys have come to her front door and they’ve taken one of our teammates away.”

He concluded, “And not only just one of our teammates, our leader. So the stakes couldn’t be higher. So Two Cups is willing to do anything to get Joe back.”

As one of Sheridan’s frequent collaborators, Jordan previously told Us he was always looking forward to season 3 of Lioness being released.

“I can’t say no to the man. He’s my favorite writer in our business. I admire him. He’s a mentor. He’s a friend,” he gushed to Us. “No one works harder than Taylor. He never compromises. And when someone comes to you and says, ‘Hey man, I want to use you again in a project.’ If someone works that hard and comes to you and says, ‘I trust you, I believe in you, I’m confident in your ability,’ then you show up. You want to work your butt [off] for him.”

The actor celebrated the chance to keep working with Sheridan.

“You want to get it right. You want to tell the story the way he wants to tell the story. I love going to work for him,” he added. “So he’s an extraordinary guy.”

Lioness airs on Paramount+ Sundays.
