Martha Stewart may have just solved one of those awkward end-of-summer dressing dilemmas: what to wear when you’re ready for fall clothes but it’s still way too warm for boots. Her answer is surprisingly simple — keep the sandals, add a lightweight sweater and let the outfit do the transitioning for you.
Stewart was spotted on her Instagram wearing an olive pullover, crisp white skinny jeans, layered gold jewelry and nude Dior Dioract Sandals. Her designer shoes retail for a cool $1,200, but we found a surprisingly similar pair on Amazon for just $30.

The Rihero Double Strap Flat Sandals capture the same clean, expensive-looking feel with wide double straps, a neutral finish and subtle gold hardware. They come in a nude shade similar to Stewart’s, along with white, black, gold and several other colors, in sizes 5.5 to 11.
They’re also built with comfort in mind. The PU faux leather straps have adjustable Velcro closures at the toe and ankle for a more customized fit, while a 0.8-inch platform sole and curved footbed help support the arch. In other words, they’re polished enough to dress up an outfit without sacrificing all-day wearability.
More than 1,000 Amazon shoppers have given the sandals a five-star rating. One reviewer who “walked for hours every day” in them across Europe called them “comfortable, lightweight and super cute,” while another buyer wears them “almost every day” and gets “tons of compliments” because they “look cute with almost everything.”
And Stewart’s outfit shows exactly how to keep nude sandals working as the seasons shift. Wear them now with breezy dresses and linen pants, then copy her formula with white denim and a lightweight sweater once temperatures dip — an easy way to stretch sandal season a little longer.

NLE Choppa recently shared a public apology to his ex-fiancée Erica Raven. Now, Erica is responding to his sentiments while opening up about her decision to walk away from their relationship. She describes her experience as “deeply painful, traumatic, and unhealthy.”
On Saturday evening, Aug. 30, Erica Raven shared a four-slide statement on Instagram following NLE Choppa’s public apology after their split. In the post, Erica opened up about her decision to walk away from the relationship. In the statement, Erica says she appreciates the efforts being made and the thought behind them. However, she describes her experience in the relationship as “deeply painful, traumatic, and unhealthy.” She says her decision to walk away was not impulsive or made overnight. Erica adds that gifts, apologies and public gestures “cannot erase what happened behind closed doors.”
As she focuses on moving forward, Erica says she is choosing “peace, healing, and the opportunity to reconnect with herself.” She makes it clear that she needs no contact with NLE during this time and asks that her boundary be respected. She closes by saying she genuinely wishes NLE growth and healing and asks others not to pressure her to return to that space. “I ask that everyone respect my decision without pressuring me to return to a situation they did not personally experience,” she wrote.
After Erica’s statement made its rounds online, social media users shared their thoughts on her decision to walk away and maintain her boundaries in The Shade Room Teens comment section.

NLE been on the media way too many times for not being a good man for ppl to just be lying on him. Every year he’s either writing an apology song or post to a female he’s wronged. Patterns will always stand out. Hopefully he can leave women alone and focus on being a father n growing as a man.”
NLE Choppa has also appeared to address his current headspace amid the ongoing conversation surrounding his relationship with Erica Raven. In a post on X, NLE wrote, “I know I’m a little throwed God be patient with me.” Meanwhile, social media users noticed that NLE deleted his original Instagram carousel dedicated to Erica, which featured his public apology and sentiments toward his ex-fiancée. At this time, he has not directly responded to Erica’s latest statement.

The podcast host and rapper has popped the question to his longtime girlfriend, Shadée Monique, during his birthday celebration, and she said “YES!” The sweet moment has fans flooding the couple with love and well wishes as they get ready for their next chapter!
Videos circulating online captured the moment Joe Budden that got down on one knee and asked Shadée, “Will you marry me?” Shadée looked completely shocked as Joe held out the ring and asked her “I gotta ask. We doing it or what?” She replied, “Of course we are!” as Joe slid the icy engagement ring on her finger. Joe Budden and Shadée Monique have reportedly been together for about seven years. The couple started dating in summer 2019 and have shared glimpses of their relationship on social media ever since. Shadée has never been shy about showing love for her man on Instagram. In a sweet birthday post for Joe last year, she shared photos and videos of them together while expressing her appreciation for him and calling their connection unmatched. “I love this man deeply. Our connection is unmatched…something rare and real. The kind of bond that only makes sense when two souls are meant to find each other.” She also said she felt happy to call him her “forever!”
“You are the truth. The realest and most realistic love l’ve ever known. You see me for exactly who I am and love me even deeper for it. We know each other truly not the representative. You love me in a way that makes forever feel too short. You’re my forever—and let’s be real… I’m the luckiest girl alive to call you mine.”

Kacey Musgraves found herself standing beneath an unexpected fire during her Boston concert, but she managed to keep the crowd entertained while the potentially dangerous situation unfolded above her. A small blaze ignited near a lighting fixture in the stage rafters as the country singer performed her 2018 hit “Golden Hour.” The timing was almost too perfect, as the song features the lyric “you set my world on fire” and Musgraves’ planned pyrotechnics were already sending sparks across the stage.

Concertgoer Daniel Preda captured footage of the incident and shared it on Instagram. In the video, a light fixture above the stage could be seen flickering with flames as Musgraves looked toward the rafters.
The 38-year-old singer initially appeared to assess whether the blaze was part of the production before realizing something had gone wrong. “That looks bad. Genuinely, something’s on fire,” she told the audience.
Musgraves then joked about the potential danger of standing underneath the flames while wearing highly flammable styling products. “I have way too much hairspray to be standing under that sh-t.”
Although the unexpected fire interrupted the concert, Musgraves remained onstage and continued speaking with the audience.
Musgraves attempted to redirect the conversation toward the creation of her latest album, but the flames above her remained difficult to ignore. She acknowledged that the situation was making her anxious, particularly because it was not part of the production she had rehearsed. “I only like pyro when I know what’s going to happen,” the singer-songwriter joked.
Musgraves then asked if anyone had an appropriately glamorous piece of firefighting equipment nearby. “Does anybody have a bedazzled fire extinguisher anywhere?”
Her comments earned laughs as she kept the audience calm and entertained throughout the mishap. No injuries were reported in the supplied account, and there was no additional information about what caused the fire.

The pyrotechnic scare was not the only emotional moment during Musgraves’ Boston tour stop. Elsewhere in the concert, she paid tribute to Dolly Parton, who died on Tuesday, August 25, at age 80.
Musgraves performed her own song “Rainbow” before covering Parton’s 1977 hit “Here You Come Again.” Before beginning the tribute, she reflected on how people had been remembering Parton in the days following her death. “I think the most amazing thing about all this is not anybody mentioning the Grammys [Parton won], the accolades, or any of that.”
Musgraves said the most important part of Parton’s legacy was not the awards or industry recognition she accumulated throughout her career, saying, “It’s what a humanitarian [Parton was].”
The audience responded with cheers as Musgraves continued describing the qualities she admired in the country music legend.

Musgraves had already expressed her heartbreak on social media after learning about Parton’s passing. “Dolly,” she wrote alongside a broken heart emoji. “This really really hurts.”
She followed that message with another tribute focused on the joy and glamour Parton brought to the world. “The world feels a lot less sparkly all of a sudden.”
Musgraves also found comfort in the belief that Parton had been reunited with her late husband, Carl Dean. “So glad she’s finally with her Carl Dean. No one talk to me today.”
Dean died in 2025 after 59 years of marriage to Parton. The singer’s parents, Avie Lee Caroline Owens and Robert Lee Parton Sr., also died before her.

Parton died peacefully in Nashville on August 25, according to an obituary published by Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home & Woodlawn Memorial Park. Rather than receiving flowers, her family asked fans to make donations to Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.
Parton founded the literacy program to provide free books to children.
Y’all! Sukihana and Tylil are proving once again that they know exactly how to keep the internet entertained. The duo recently popped out in a look that had folks instantly recognizing the inspiration, but their commitment to the bit is what really took things to another level.
In a new clip shared to social media, Sukihana and Tylil can be seen dressed up as Tyrese, rocking dark slacks and matching short-sleeve button-ups worn wide open to reveal white shirts underneath. The pair also sport bald caps to complete the look and passionately sing along to Tyrese’s ‘How You Gonna Act Like That.’ Tylil even breaks out some dance moves while Suki plays it cool, as the two appear to reenact the scene inside an empty bathroom. Chile!
Fans ran to TSR’s Instagram comment section and had an absolute field day over Sukihana and Tylil’s Tyrese-inspired moment. Some joked that Suki clearly didn’t know all the lyrics, while others said the looks made them resemble YSL Woody. And a few Roomies simply felt like Sukihana and Tylil were getting a head start on Halloween.
One Instagram user @blachaz3 said, “😂😂😂😂this was me fresh off having a baby too, so in her defense, she ain’t wrong for this”
This Instagram user @at8two8 commented, “Suki look like Birdman 😂”
And, Instagram user @imraedauynn wrote, “y’all too early for halloween”
Meanwhile, Instagram user @derrickadidit commented, “It’s Suki not knowing the lyrics for me. 😂”
While Instagram user @princedre._ added, “Yall Look Like Ysl Woody Not Tyrese😂”
Lastly, Instagram user @aambbzzzz joked, “I would’ve gladly agreed to this 😂😂😂”
Sukihana is proving she’s been on comedian timing since welcoming her latest little one! In a recent snap, Sukihana appears to be relaxing in bed while cradling her newborn against her chest and shoulder, rocking a high puff and what appears to be an animal-print bed dress. But chile, fans quickly clocked the box of Plan B resting against her thigh, especially after she captioned the photo, “My six weeks up,” seemingly referencing the commonly recommended postpartum recovery period. Naturally, the timing had the Roomies cracking up and wondering what exactly Suki was trying to say.

The action genre has produced several of the greatest masterpieces in the history of cinema, and that’s because, just like cinema itself, it’s a genre all about constant movement and non-stop excitement. As such, over the years, many action movies have garnered tremendous praise—but only on a few occasions has that praise been truly universal.
Needless to say, there are bound to be some people out there who hate these action gems; but you’d be seriously hard-pressed to find those people. From huge blockbusters like Avengers: Infinity War to international indie masterpieces like Oldboy, the past 30 years in particular have seen the release of many action films which were—and still are—loved by critics, diehard cinephiles, and general audiences alike.
Ever since the conclusion of the Infinity Saga, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been nothing but uneven and inconsistent; but its lackluster current state doesn’t detract from the fact that if it managed to become the highest-grossing movie franchise in film history, it’s because it was so near-universally beloved for so long. And as far as universally beloved MCU movies go, it doesn’t get much more widely acclaimed than Avengers: Infinity War.
You get a little bit of everything in Infinity War: a hyper-ambitious crossover event that’s exciting without feeling overstuffed, an emotional story that has the guts to go in surprisingly dark directions, some of the best production values of any MCU film, and—of course—some of the most compelling action the franchise has ever seen. All in all, it’s one of the most intense superhero movies of all time, and certainly one of the most beloved.
There are few dystopian movies that are perfect from the first scene to the last, and Children of Men is certainly one of them. Based on P. D. James‘ novel of the same title, this action thriller further enshrined Alfonso Cuarón as one of the most admirable visionaries working in Hollywood. It was a commercial flop upon release, but age has only been kind to it.
It may not have received as much love as it deserved back in 2006, but as the years have passed and Children of Men has become more and more of a cult classic—widely praised as Cuarón’s Hollywood magnum opus—, it can now be considered nothing but universally beloved. Suspenseful, atmospheric, and philosophically fascinating, it’s proof of the full range of the wonders that post-apocalyptic sci-fi is capable of as a genre.
Ridley Scott‘s filmography has been somewhat hit-or-miss throughout the 21st century, but right before the end of the 20th, he delivered what many would consider one of his best action films: Gladiator, winner of five Academy Awards (including Best Picture). And on top of its awards prestige, the film was widely lauded by critics and grossed nearly half a billion dollars worldwide.
From the powerhouse performances delivered by Russell Crowe and Joaquin Phoenix, to Hans Zimmer‘s legendary musical score, to the incredible visuals and the convincing recreation of 2nd-century Rome, Gladiator has only kept aging like fine wine. Its action scenes are brutal and incredibly entertaining, but what has kept it one of the most beloved movies of the 2000s is its emotional character-driven narrative.
South Korea has been producing exceptional thrillers since many decades ago, but it was Park Chan-wook‘s Oldboy that largely helped catapult the country’s thriller film production into international mainstream prominence. That should hardly come as a surprise, since this adaptation of the Japanese manga Old Boy really is one of the most perfect action thrillers the big screen has ever seen.
Oldboy is also one of the most disturbing crime movies ever made, so it’s certainly not fit for the faint of heart. Those with the stomach for a film full of brutal action and gut-wrenching twists, however, have had nothing but good things to say about Park’s masterpiece over the years. It may not exactly be a crowd-pleaser, but Oldboy is certainly worthy of universal acclaim.
Ever since he made his stunning feature debut in the ’90s with the cult classic Reservoir Dogs, Quentin Tarantino only kept growing in popularity and universal acclaim as his career went on. Going into the 21st century, however, he hadn’t yet proven himself capable of making a big, action-driven studio blockbuster. Enter Kill Bill: Vol. 1, which cemented Tarantino as a true studio filmmaking titan.
Some may say that the movie favors style over substance, but closer examinations of this wonderful pastiche extravaganza reveal that the style is the substance. Kill Bill: Vol. 1 wears its influences—from spaghetti Westerns to samurai and martial arts classics—on its sleeve with the utmost pride, and that’s what has allowed it to remain one of the most universally beloved ultraviolent action movies of all time.
There are remarkably few filmmakers so great that their movies usually earn universal or near-universal praise, and Christopher Nolan is one of those filmmakers. His filmography is not without its detractors, but even several of those detractors should be more than willing to admit that the sci-fi action thriller Inception is an absolute blast from top to bottom.
One of the most ambitious sci-fi movies of the last 25 years, Inception finds Nolan at his most committed to practical effects, jaw-dropping action sequences, and impeccable pacing. From the iconic spinning hallway fight scene to the film’s many memorable shootout sequences, what could an action movie fan possibly not love about Inception? Its plot may not be the deepest, but as an action blockbuster, it leaves very little to be desired.
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse took the world by storm, almost instantly becoming one of the most universally beloved superhero movies the world had ever seen. How can you possibly follow up a movie that has already set the bar sky-high? With a sequel that’s somehow even better, of course. You’d have a hard time finding someone unable to understand why Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is widely considered one of the best superhero movies in film history.
For one, Across the Spider-Verse may very well be one of the most visually stunning movies ever made, what with its having some of the most stunningly complex and vibrant animation the world has ever seen. Then, there’s the emotionally riveting story, the nuanced character development, the powerful meta study of the whole Spider-Man mythos, and—of course—the most creative and exciting action scenes the Wall-Crawler has ever participated in.
Back in 1999, the Wachowskis completely revolutionized both the action and sci-fi genres with The Matrix, a blockbuster that was unlike anything else audiences had ever seen before. The years have passed, and not only has The Matrix not lost one bit of its “wow” factor, it has arguably even managed to get better with age.
On the one hand, there’s the movie’s deep thematic complexity, with its functioning both as a powerful trans allegory and a hard-hitting philosophical study of technology, determinism, and the nature of reality. But that’s only the foundation of what has kept The Matrix as one of the most universally beloved sci-fi action movies ever made: the actual action, which is some of the most delightfully idiosyncratic and creative that Hollywood has ever produced.
Winner of a whopping 11 Academy Awards (the most of any film in history, tied with Ben-Hur and Titanic), The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King is deserving of many a superlative. It’s one of the most thrilling cinematic epics in history, one of the greatest fantasy films of all time, one of the most universally beloved movies of the 21st century, and definitely one of the most acclaimed action movies ever.
What’s not to love about what Peter Jackson and his team managed to achieve here? Return of the King doesn’t cease to be jaw-droppingly impressive for a single second of its 200-minute runtime. The epic action sequences are as exciting as they are emotional, the character development feels wonderfully cathartic with the trilogy coming to a close, and the way the movie adapts the perfection of J. R. R. Tolkien‘s work is worthy of applause.
There is perhaps no blockbuster filmmaker currently working in Hollywood more universally acclaimed than Christopher Nolan, but he wasn’t always the king of contemporary Hollywood blockbusters. It was thanks to The Dark Knight trilogy that he was able to enshrine himself in that throne, and it was The Dark Knight in particular that proved just how incredible his big-budget movies could really be.
It’s no surprise that the most acclaimed chapter of one of the most universally loved movie trilogies of all time also happens to be the most universally acclaimed action film in history. The Dark Knight, far more than just the most acclaimed comic book and superhero movie of all time, is a proper action thriller superior to most others that the big screen has ever held. Thrilling, visually perfect, well-acted, and impeccably directed, it’s worthy of every single last bit of the hype it tends to get all across the board.
Mindy Kaling‘s comedy show “Not Suitable For Work” has been canceled by Hulu after just one season.
Reports suggest series producer Warner Bros. Television plans to shop the show around for a potential new home.
The show’s cast has taken to social media to react to the news, while Kaling expressed her gratitude to fans who watched and left “sweet comments” about the series.
Hulu has officially canceled Mindy Kaling’s workplace comedy “Not Suitable For Work” after just one season, per Variety.
The nine-episode series, which premiered in June this year, will not return for a second installment on the Disney-backed streaming platform, but it remains unclear why the decision was made.
Created by Kaling alongside showrunner Charlie Grandy and 3 Arts Entertainment’s Howard Klein, the show centered on a group of work-obsessed twentysomethings trying to balance high-pressure careers with their chaotic personal lives in Manhattan’s Murray Hill neighborhood.
The ensemble cast featured Ella Hunt, Avantika, Will Angus, Jack Martin, Nicholas Duvernay, and Jay Ellis.

Kaling and the series’ cast have taken to social media to react to the news, essentially thanking fans for sticking with them along the journey.
Sharing a handful of behind-the-scenes photos from the set on Instagram, the 47-year-old prolific creator wrote, “I love this show, I loved making this show, I love these people, and I love all of you for all your sweet comments, messages, edits and for watching @notsuitableforwork.”
Martin reposted Kaling’s post before noting that he “will always love” the show and “everyone who was a part of it … thank you for watching.”
Avantika shared a photo of her co-stars and wrote, “I love this cast and this team so very much!”
She explained that the show gave her “an opportunity of a lifetime” and allowed her to meet people and audiences she “could have never even dreamed of meeting before.”
“I am so grateful to Mindy, Charlie, Hulu, [and] Warner Bros for giving us this chance. We love you,” she added.

Back in June, the “Ocean’s 8” actress revealed that the series is semi-autobiographical and was inspired by her own “painful” post-grad phase in New York City.
In a chat with PEOPLE, she explained that the series sort of completes a trilogy with two other shows she created, namely, “Never Have I Ever” and “The Sex Lives of College Girls.”
“Not Suitable for Work is kind of my third show that I’ve done about my youth. Never Have I Ever is about my teenage years,” she said. “The Sex Lives of College Girls was [about] my college [experience], and then this is about my 20s.”

Kaling graduated from Dartmouth with a degree in playwrighting in 2001, after which she moved to the Big Apple. It took a while before she got her breakthrough gig as a writer, before starring in “The Office.”
“I am surprised by how vividly I remember the time when I moved from Boston to New York at 21,” she continued. “And what a rude awakening it was.”
Going further to describe the tumultuous experience of navigating a big city like New York, the “Mindy Project” star said that phase comes with “the feeling of having so much to say and having so much to offer, or thinking I did, and having no access.”
“When your ambition does not meet your access, to me, it was really theatrical, and fun, and also a painful time in my life,” she told the news outlet. “I also had so many crushes and a really dynamic friend group, and I just wanted to do a show about that.”

Despite the setback and the completion of the trilogy in her early years, fans may not have heard the last from Kaling.
Elsewhere in the interview with PEOPLE, the mother of three admitted that she doesn’t have any idea for a show about another phase of her life floating in her head at the time, but is “examining my time in my 30s.”
“I literally just think of my 30s as going from The Office to The Mindy Project. I don’t remember ever not being on a sound stage,” she said. “So maybe there’s something there about a woman who gives up her entire life to the pursuit of television.”
Kaling added, “I do have a lot of great stories of that time. Honestly, between Charlie Grandy, Ike Barinholtz, and Tracey Wigfield, and all these writers, we probably have a lot of fun stories for a show.”
Having spent a month in theaters, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is nearing a historic feat at the domestic box office. The movie topped the charts for the fifth weekend in a row, adding another $21 million to its haul. Globally, the movie has cemented itself among the five highest-grossing films of all time with more than $2.3 billion in the bank. Spider-Man: Brand New Day marks star Tom Holland‘s fourth time playing the fan-favorite superhero in a solo movie; Holland has also played the character in ensemble films such as Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. Remarkably, Spider-Man: Brand New Day has overtaken Avengers: Endgame at the domestic box office to become the second-biggest blockbuster in history. Only one movie stands before it, and the gap between them is closing.
Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, who previously helmed the acclaimed Marvel Cinematic Universe movie Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Spider-Man: Brand New Day received positive reviews for bringing the franchise back to ground level. The previous installment, Spider-Man: No Way Home, revolved around a multiverse-hopping plot featuring several villains. The new movie, on the other hand, introduced Jean Grey to the MCU, with Sadie Sink succeeding Famke Janssen and Sophie Turner, who previously portrayed the character. Jean Grey will next appear in a new X-Men movie, whose recently announced cast includes Inde Navarrette and Kit Connor.
Produced on a reported budget of $225 million, Spider-Man: Brand New Day has now grossed more than $890 million domestically. This puts the gap between it and the highest-grossing movie of all time, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, at less than $50 million. The Force Awakens continues to top the all-time list with $936 million, a milestone that Spider-Man: Brand New Day has every chance of crossing in the next couple of weeks thanks to excellent reviews and audience reception. The movie now holds a “Certified Fresh” 89% critics’ score and a “Verified Hot” 98% audience score on the aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes, where the consensus reads, “Spinning a web of spectacular set pieces together with mature emotional stakes and Tom Holland’s soulful performance, Brand New Day is a promising reset that portends Spidey will remain sticky on the big screen for years to come.” Stay tuned to Collider for more updates.

Bachelor Nation’s Clayton Echard is speaking out after Laura Owens pleaded guilty to criminal charges related to a pregnancy fraud case.
“It’s the first time that we’ve seen Laura take any accountability in this matter,” Echard, 33, said in a TikTok video on Saturday, August 29, later explaining, “Upon the ending of yesterday’s court hearing, I found myself telling the other guys, the other victims, it was anticlimactic what occurred yesterday. I felt numb and emotionless. I couldn’t understand why that was.”
He continued, “I woke up today and after reflecting more … It’s because my healing was not contingent upon what occurred yesterday. I have already healed. I’m grateful for this entire experience — I know that sounds backwards. The amount of resilience I’ve built through all of this, the community I have found with all of this adversity, the power of presence that I’ve gained. The insight. Everything that has come from all of this. I would do it 1,000 times over because I’m proud of the man I’ve become through it all.”
Owens, 36, originally sued Echard in August 2023, claiming she was pregnant with his twins. Echard denied he’d had sexual intercourse with Owens during their one-night stand, with a paternity test showing that there was “little to no fetal DNA” present. (Owens has said that she had a miscarriage and claimed to have two lab tests to prove she was pregnant.)
@clayton.echard My thoughts on yesterday’s court hearing, where Laura agreed to plea to 4 felony charges.
In 2024, an Arizona judge granted Echard’s request for non-paternity and Owens was subsequently indicted by the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office on criminal charges for perjury and fraud, among others. The charges relate to both Owens’ paternity allegations against Echard and against another Scottsdale man in 2021. (Owens originally pleaded not guilty in 2024.)
As part of her plea deal, prosecutors agreed on Friday, August 28, to drop other criminal charges if she pleaded guilty to two counts of fraudulent schemes and artifice, one count of perjury and one count of taking the identity of another, per The Mercury News. The Maricopa County Attorney’s Office specified that the identity charge derived from Owens allegedly stealing another woman’s ultrasound image.
“It does not really matter to me what happens to Laura at this point,” Echard said on Saturday.
The case became the subject of popular podcast “Love Trapped,” which investigated accusations that Owens may have used similar legal tactics against other exes. (Owens denied any wrongdoing.)
“From the podcast, we’ve seen millions of people — which I never thought it would get to that level of a community — people have come together and fought for justice and we are on that track where we are seeing justice be served,” he said. “In two months, we will see a final end to that [when Owens is sentenced].”
Despite their three-year legal battle, Echard said he was “proud” of Owens for taking responsibility for her actions.
“Laura has never been able to take an ounce of accountability until yesterday,” he said. “That’s not lost upon me, how huge that was. I think that’s a major, potentially life-altering step in Laura’s life where her taking a sliver of accountability yesterday could be the turning point for her. I want that for Laura. I want Laura to heal. I want her to see brighter days.”
Echard called on Owens to “share why she did what she did” to help bring closure to those impacted by her actions.
“There is more healing in Laura’s redemption than there is in her destruction,” he argued.
Owens will be sentenced on October 23. Echard said in Saturday’s TikTok video that he will ask the judge to impose a prison sentence.
Tom Cruise is officially getting back behind the wheel as Cole Trickle, and he’ll have Anne Hathaway alongside him when Days of Thunder returns to theaters.
Hathaway has joined Cruise as the co-lead of Paramount Pictures’ upcoming Days of Thunder sequel, nearly four decades after the original NASCAR racing film hit theaters in 1990.
Cruise will reprise his role as hotshot driver Cole Trickle, while Hathaway is set to play a race team owner and engineer. Paramount has also officially set the film for a June 2, 2028 theatrical release.
The project will be filmed for IMAX and receive an exclusive theatrical release that will also include premium formats such as Dolby Cinema and 4DX.
Cruise helped make the news official with a promotional image featuring himself and Hathaway together at Daytona International Speedway alongside a Days of Thunder race car.
Jonathan Levine, whose credits include Long Shot and Warm Bodies, will direct the sequel from a screenplay by Will Staples. Cruise will produce alongside longtime collaborator Jerry Bruckheimer and Tommy Harper.

The original Days of Thunder was directed by Tony Scott and followed Trickle as he entered the world of NASCAR and attempted to transform his raw talent into success at the sport’s highest level. The film also starred Robert Duvall, Nicole Kidman, Randy Quaid and John C. Reilly.
Released in 1990, Days of Thunder went on to earn nearly $158 million worldwide and has developed a significant following among racing fans in the decades since its release.
The sequel also gives Cruise another opportunity to revisit one of his most recognizable early films following the enormous success of Top Gun: Maverick. That film reunited Cruise and Bruckheimer more than three decades after the original Top Gun and ultimately became one of the biggest box office hits of Cruise’s career.
Hathaway, meanwhile, continues an incredibly busy stretch that has included The Odyssey, The Devil Wears Prada 2 and several other major projects.
Plot details for the new Days of Thunder remain under wraps, including exactly where Cole Trickle finds himself nearly 40 years later.
But one thing is official: Cole Trickle is heading back to the track.
Days of Thunder will race back into theaters on June 2, 2028.
