Netflix Is About to Say Goodbye to the 1994 Classic That Changed Movies Forever

Published

Unlike some of its biggest streaming rivals, Netflix doesn’t have a back catalog of studio releases that will always pad out its roster. Sure, the service has deals in place with most studios to license their films and TV shows, but the classics will always end up exiting the lineup at one point or another. Many popular films will go through cycles on Netflix and other streamers, appearing for a few months before heading off to another service. The end of February will see one of these all-time great films leave Netflix’s lineup, and subscribers are already hoping it won’t be gone for long.

Pulp Fiction, the 1994 film that made Quentin Tarantino a household name, will no longer be available to stream on Netflix in just a couple of weeks’ time. Sadly, Pulp Fiction is one of the movies that has been handed the dreaded “Leaving Soon” banner by Netflix, meaning that users don’t have much longer to stream it on the service.

Pulp Fiction has been available to stream on Netflix for some time, but Tarantino’s instant classic is going to disappear from the lineup at the end of this month. Netflix hasn’t released its newsletter for March just yet, but the service has started marking the films set to exit on March 1st, meaning that the final day to watch them will be on February 28th. The game-changing film, which won Tarantino his first Academy Award, isn’t the only great movie exiting Netflix’s lineup when February comes to a close.

February 28th is going to be a big day for Netflix exits, with several awesome movies set to leave the streamer at the same time. Some of the major departures at the end of the month include A League of Their Own, Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, The Amazing Spider-Man, As Good As it Gets, Bottoms, Boyz n the Hood, Braveheart, Dante’s Peak, Double Team, I Know What You Did Last Summer, Snatch, Stand By Me, Stripes, This Is the End, Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit, and The Wolf of Wall Street.

Despite leaving Netflix’s lineup at the end of the month, Pulp Fiction is still set to be readily available across the streaming landscape. In fact, the film can be found on both subscription and free services, giving movie lovers a few different options if they want to check it out.

Of those streaming homes, only Paramount+ is going to cost money. Pulp Fiction is currently streaming on Paramount’s service and there has been no indication that will change once the month of March rolls around. There’s always a chance we could see rivals like Peacock or HBO Max add Pulp Fiction once it leaves Netflix, but we won’t know if that’s the case until the various streamers release their newsletters for March.

For those looking to watch Pulp Fiction without paying for streaming subscriptions, Tarantino’s hit is currently on two different free services — both of which can be accessed through most public libraries. Streamers Hoopla and Kanopy are both free-to-use services that allow folks to sign up with their library cards and receive a certain number of rental credits each month. Those credits are used to “check out” movies and TV titles that you can stream without experiencing any ads.

Of course, there’s always the option to simply buy a copy of Pulp Fiction, which is easily the best bet if you’re a fan of the movie. By owning your own copy, you never have to worry about where something is streaming, and you don’t have to pay for new services or rentals in order to watch it.

10 Greatest Spy Thrillers of the Last 100 Years, Ranked

Published

on

Richard Burton as Alex Leamas in 'The Spy Who Came in from the Cold' (1965)

Spy movies and thrillers are two genres that get along remarkably well, and as such, several of the greatest spy films of all time are thrillers, and vice versa. These are stories that naturally lend themselves to suspense, excitement, tension-filled action sequences, and mysterious narratives full of intrigue. No wonder so many masterful ones have come out throughout the last century.

Going through Hollywood’s Golden Age with classics like Notorious all the way to Daniel Craig‘s Bond days with films like Skyfall, the best spy thrillers of the last 100 years are a testament to the heights the genre can reach when in the hands of a capable filmmaker. As thought-provoking as they are adrenaline-pumping, these great films are among the best in the history of this exhilarating genre.

With John le Carré arguably having been the quintessential master of the art of the spy novel, it’s no surprise that so many films based on his work have been made over the years. The question of what the best one of the bunch is, however, isn’t really a question at all. That title would have to go to the British spy thriller The Spy Who Came In from the Cold, one of the best spy movies of all time.

It’s old-school spy filmmaking at its best, one of the greatest and most realistic films ever made about the Cold War. Many people over the years have lovingly referred to this as the perfect anti-Bond movie, and especially seeing as le Carré actually devised the original book as his antidote to those 007 stories that he so intensely disliked, it’s hard to argue against them. There’s no glamor or fancy fictional gadgets here: It’s a gritty, cold look at contemporary Cold War espionage entirely committed to sincerity.

‘Skyfall’ (2012)

They may not be the best choice for those who prefer spy movies at their most realistic, but who doesn’t love watching a good James Bond film every now and then? Daniel Craig‘s run as the legendary MI6 agent wasn’t without bumps along the road, but it also had some of the highest points in the character’s entire filmography. Case in point: Skyfall.

It’s nothing short of one of the best spy movies of the 21st century, perfectly balancing action, suspense, emotionally compelling character work, and the same kind of intelligent deconstruction of the Bond mythos that characterized Craig’s whole tenure. With Javier Bardem at his most terrifying and Craig having made the role of 007 entirely his own, there’s no way of watching Skyfall without enjoying its many sprawling set pieces and engaging character moments.

‘The Hunt for Red October’ (1990)

Jack Ryan looks intently beyond the camera next to Admiral James Greer in The Hunt for Red October

Tom Clancy is perhaps best known as the writer who created the iconic Jack Ryan, so it’s no coincidence that his debut novel, The Hunt for Red October, was also the character’s debut. Both creator and creation came into the public eye together, and six years later, the first-ever film adaptation of a Jack Ryan story came out. Directed by Die Hard and Predator‘s John McTiernan, the thriller of the same name is one of the best spy movies of the ’90s.

Starring top-form Alec Baldwin and Sean Connery, the film is a faultless submarine thriller that proves spy movies are very much capable of breathing underwater. Immensely tense and perfectly acted, it’s a true ticking time bomb of a film that feels like it never lets up. The Hunt for Red October is edge-of-your-seat suspense at its most entertaining, and it was a hell of a way of bringing Jack Ryan to the big screen for the first time.

7

‘The Day of the Jackal’ (1973)

The best classic spy thrillers were many times based on iconic novels, and the British-French co-production The Day of the Jackal (based on Frederick Forsyth‘s book of the same name) is no exception. What could possibly go wrong with a spy film when you have an airtight screenplay, direction full of personality, and an incredibly exciting structure? As it turns out, very little.

The Day of the Jackal is about as close as the genre can possibly come to perfection, delivering an intricately constructed story where it feels like every detail—no matter how small—was meticulously put in place and polished up. That attention to detail, however, never robs the movie of its feeling of unpredictability. It’s mysterious and suspenseful like every great spy flick should be, and throughout its whole 2-and-a-half-hour runtime, it never ceases to be exciting.

6

‘The Manchurian Candidate’ (1962)

Based on the 1959 Richard Condon novel of the same name, The Manchurian Candidate is one of the best thriller movies of the ’60s. Bolstered by a flawless cast featuring the likes of Frank Sinatra and Angela Lansbury, it’s an inventive and intrigue-filled masterpiece the likes of which could only have been made at the tail end of Hollywood’s Golden Age.

Blending thriller and satirical elements in perfect measure, the film feels as timely today as it did back in 1962. But aside from being ahead of its time, The Manchurian Candidate is also irresistibly entertaining, full of colorful and memorable characters shot in perfect black and white. Though it was a commentary on McCarthyism, its themes and story have aged like fine wine and still feel entirely relevant in today’s divided political climate.

5

‘Notorious’ (1946)

Although best known as the Master of Suspense, Alfred Hitchcock also made some great romance movie masterpieces in his career, and Notorious is one of his best. Starring Cary Grant and Ingrid Bergman in one of the most explosive actor-actress duos of Hollywood’s Golden Age, it’s a spy noir that many critics throughout history have recognized as Hitchcock’s first attempt at a serious romance.

Notorious is sublime thanks to Hitchcock’s thrilling direction and its expertly woven-together technical elements.

Aside from its historic importance and its two exceptional stars, Notorious is sublime thanks to Hitchcock’s thrilling direction and its expertly woven-together technical elements. It may not be its director’s absolute best, but it’s definitely up there, with a terrific sense of suspense and a hypnotic atmosphere as its foundations, plus a healthy dose of unexpected but much-welcome eroticism.

4

‘Casino Royale’ (2006)

Daniel Craig with a gun looking down in Casino Royale.

It was the one that started it all for Daniel Craig’s legendary run as the ultra-iconic James Bond. Casino Royale wasn’t just the perfect introduction for this brazenly modern version of 007, but it’s arguably also the best Bond film to date. From the gadgets to the romance to the martinis, it’s a complete twist and reinvention of the Bond formula for the new millennium.

Craig is magnificently elegant and imposing in the role, and Eva Green works wonders as one of the best Bond girls in the franchise (certainly one of the most consequential). Top that with a stellar villain in Mads Mikelsen‘s Le Chiffre and a story revolving around the price to pay for a life of secrecy, and you have an all-time great spy movie. Casino Royale is clever, exciting, entertaining, often unexpectedly amusing, and packed with winks and details that fans of the character are bound to love.

3

‘The Lives of Others’ (2006)

Ulrich Mühe wearing headphones in 'The Lives of Others'

The winner of the 2007 Academy Award for Best International Feature Film, the German masterpiece The Lives of Others is one of the best spy thrillers of all time, period. It was the first notable drama film about the fall of the Berlin Wall and the end of the German Democratic Republic, and two decades later, it’s still one of the best surveillance thrillers ever made.

Some have argued that the film grants its main character a bit too much sympathy, but Stasi Captain Gerd Wiesler (played by a top-notch Ulrich Mühe) is the perfect pair of eyes through which to see this enthralling story. It makes for some really effective intrigue and gut-wrenching emotion, and though fans of more action-heavy spy thrillers may prefer to look elsewhere, The Lives of Others is a must-see for those who love to see when the genre leads more toward the “spy” side of things.

2

‘North by Northwest’ (1959)

If there’s any filmmaker who deserves to be mentioned twice when talking about excellent thrillers, no matter the subgenre, it’s Alfred Hitchcock. The director’s North by Northwest is widely regarded as one of the greatest films ever made, and for good reason. It’s certainly one of the most incredibly spy movies ever, largely boosted by Cary Grant’s unforgettable lead performance.

North by Northwest is the gold standard for mistaken-identity thrillers, a practically perfect film that’s every bit as exciting as it is amusing. Gripping, breezily-paced, and full of iconic shots, it’s an entirely unique spy film that’s impossible to look away from. Hitchcock sprinkles dark humor in all the right places, making the movie one of the most genuinely enjoyable outings in his whole filmography.

‘Mission: Impossible – Fallout’ (2018)

The Mission: Impossible franchise has long been famous for being one of the most consistent action movie franchises of all time, but even the best movie series have a pinnacle, and this one’s is Mission: Impossible — Fallout. It’s the sixth entry in the saga, one of the best action thrillers of the last 10 years.

From the helicopter chase during the third act to the iconic bathroom fight scene, one can find several of the best and most entertaining action sequences of the 21st century here. The stunts are as death-defying as ever, Tom Cruise and the rest of the ensemble do a phenomenal job, and the villains are easily among the series’ best. There’s virtually nothing about this perfectly-paced, emotionally engaging, absolutely nail-biting spy thriller that doesn’t work, and that makes it reasonable to call it the best that the genre has ever seen.

Is Moneybagg Yo Ari Fletcher’s Husband?

As The Shade Room previously reported, in July 2025, Ari Fletcher and Moneybagg Yo sparked engagement speculation when she flossed a massive diamond ring amid Bagg penning a heartfelt message for her 30th birthday.

In September of that year, Fletcher celebrated Bagg’s birthday, acknowledging that she would “choose” him “for better or for worse,” per The Shade Room.

In November, Fletcher made sure to floss her ring after an internet user said Bagg would never put a ring on it.

Then, later that month, Bagg raised eyebrows by calling Fletcher his “wife” in Arabic, per The Shade Room.

Kelly Osbourne’s Frail Appearance Raises Questions

Kelly Osbourne at the 2026 Grammys

Grammys night was meant to honor Ozzy Osbourne‘s towering legacy, but when cameras settled on his grieving family, a different conversation took hold.

Viewers could not ignore how strikingly slender Kelly Osbourne appeared beside her mother, Sharon, and brother Jack.

In a moment meant for remembrance, concern over her dramatic transformation quietly stole focus.

As the In Memoriam tribute unfolded inside the arena, Kelly Osbourne stood visibly emotional, her petite frame trembling in a sleeveless black gown.

Her arms, dramatically thinner than many remembered, quickly became the subject of whispers among fans and industry insiders alike.

Though Kelly Osbourne has long spoken about losing 85 pounds following gastric sleeve surgery in 2018 and has firmly denied using Ozempic, her appearance that evening left even longtime acquaintances unsettled.

A source who saw her at the Clive Davis pre-Grammy party told the Daily Mail, “She looks even skinnier in person; it was scary. It just does not look normal. I have known her for years, and she has never looked like this before, not even close.”

The insider continued, “The first thing I noticed is how her face looks hollow, making her cheekbones stand out. When she talks, it looks different, like weird. She is gorgeous, but being that thin is hard.”

According to the same source, “everyone was talking about her appearance,” wondering “how much she weighs or if she was in danger.”

The insider added bluntly, “I don’t think God intended people to be that thin.”

Those closest to Kelly Osbourne are said to be aware of the chatter, even if no formal steps have been taken.

A second source told the Daily Mail that “nobody near her is looking to provide an intervention, but people have noticed and are monitoring it.”

The same source explained, “Kelly is definitely not concerned with how she looks and would tell anyone that would bring it up to her to go screw off, but she does get upset over people talking about it.”

They added, “She is very skinny. She has been working on her weight her entire life and the stress of her dad passing away has been a major struggle to deal with that is taking a toll on her look and health.”

Despite concerns, insiders insist her personality remains intact. The second source noted, “It is jarring seeing her, but friends and family still see that she is still her animated and jokey self. She loves being a mom, and she has a zest for life, so once you start talking to her, her appearance goes away. But when you see her at first, you definitely notice the weight loss to be a bit extreme.”

Kelly Osbourne’s complicated relationship with weight stretches back to her teenage years on “The Osbournes.”

Last year on “The Osbournes” podcast, she recalled a painful industry moment, noting, “I got pulled into the head of the agency’s office and he … gave me a whole speech about how I was too fat for TV and I needed to lose weight, and that if I lost weight, I would look better.”

She continued, “And he was just saying, ‘You’re not a movie star, but you could be one if you lost weight.’”

Her journey since has been anything but simple. After undergoing gastric sleeve surgery in 2018, she described it as “the best thing I have ever done,” crediting surgery, disciplined eating, and intense workouts for her transformation.

Pregnancy later brought its own challenges. Expecting son Sidney in 2022, Kelly gained around 100 pounds and developed gestational diabetes, later stepping back from the spotlight.

According to the second source, “She has told people that she got skinnier for her kid. She wants to be around for her kid and play and be with her kid for a long time, and now that she lost her dad, she sees that being something even more important.”

The insider added, “She doesn’t want to be the weight she used to be, and she is going to do whatever she needs to do to stay skinny.”

Speculation about weight-loss medications has only intensified scrutiny. Kelly Osbourne has repeatedly denied using Ozempic, telling Extra, “I know everybody thinks I took Ozempic. I did not take Ozempic. I don’t know where that came from. My mom took Ozempic.”

Comparisons to Sharon Osbourne have further fueled the conversation. The first source remarked, “Kelly looks much skinnier than her mom, Sharon.”

Sharon herself has been candid about her experience with the medication. After initially praising the results, she later admitted regret.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Sharon said she has not regained weight lost while taking the drug and feels “frustrated” by the lingering effects.

Michael Jordan Viral Interaction Tyler Reddick Son Beau Social Media Reactions

Every video is not what it seems, roomies? That’s the argument some Michael Jordan fans are making on social media after a viral interaction between the NBA legend and the young son of NASCAR driver Tyler Reddick. The circulating video in question shows Jordan seemingly pinching and grabbing the bottom of Beau’s shirt. Given the optics, social media users immediately had questions, while others leaned into Kendrick Lamar’s “A-minorrrrrrr” energy. Meanwhile, MJ has yet to utter a word on the apparent misunderstanding.

So, What Did Michael Jordan Do?

Based on the viral video, folks online seemed to assume Michael Jordan was pinching the child’s lower back and buttocks area. MJ also looked to be shaking off Beau’s shorts. In the clip, the 6-year-old appears unfazed, only turning slightly to look down at the ground. The interaction happened at the Daytona 500, after Jordan’s NASCAR team, 23XI, and his driver, Tyler Reddick, won the season’s biggest race, per TMZ.

Social Media Sounds Off With Reactions As Video Depicts Ice Dumping On Beau

After the video went viral, some fans have claimed Beau had ice down the back of his shirt and pants and Michael Jordan was helping him shake it out. MJ and Tyler Reddick have not addressed the controversy. However, a video has since surfaced that shows ice being dumped on the 6-year-old by his dad Tyler after his race win. The fan-created montage below shows that moment, and more follow-up ones from the event.

Still, another video of Beau looking around while MJ was standing behind him at the Daytona 500 has also gone viral. Like the shirt-shaking clip, this latest video of Beau is being used by some to drag MJ.

Also, a third video related to the Michael Jordan ordeal has also gone viral. This clip shows a man seemingly tossing out his retro Jordans after the video of the sports icon and Beau circulated. “It was probably the longest three days ever,” he said. “And [Tyra] ultimately wrote back just three words. ‘I am disappointed.’”

Manuel confessed that, while he desperately wanted to leave the series, he stayed out of pure fear of being blacklisted.

“There was a warning that strikes the fear of God in you,” he said. “You know, people talk about being blacklisted. Those words were not used, but I had suspected that that’s what it would turn into.”

These Two ‘Star Trek’ Legends Are Getting Their Own Action Figures for the Very First Time [Exclusive]

Published

on

03111436_poster_w780-1.jpg

2026 marks Star Trek‘s 60th anniversary, and to celebrate, Nacelle is making action figures of the two people who helped make it all possible, back in 1966. Nacelle’s 1/10-scale Star Trek action figures have spanned across multiple eras of Trek, from The Original Series to The Next Generation to Enterprise, but this time, they’re getting into Star Trek prehistory to make action figures of these two behind-the-scenes legends for the very first time. Collider is proud to exclusively reveal that a two-pack of Gene Roddenberry and Lucille Ball will soon be available as part of Nacelle’s Star Trek line.

Roddenberry’s contributions to Star Trek are legendary: the concept of the series and its utopian view of the future came from the mind of Roddenberry, who would go on to help bring the franchise to the big screen in the 1970s, then took it a century into the future with The Next Generation. He died in 1991 at age 70. Ball, a TV legend in her own right, ran Desilu Studios, who produced The Original Series in the 1960s; she died in 1989 at 77. Says Roddenberry’s son, Eugene “Rod” Roddenberry: “We’re thrilled to be partnering with The Nacelle Company to honor my father and Star Trek‘s 60th. To have him immortalized in this way alongside the woman that opened new frontiers for women in entertainment brings us tremendous pride.”

How Did Lucille Ball Help Create ‘Star Trek’?

Lucille Ball had starred in the pioneering sitcom I Love Lucy, and founded the production company Desilu with her husband and co-star, Desi Arnaz. By 1966, she’d divorced Arnaz, and had also bought him out of Desilu, becoming the first woman to run a major television studio. She was interested in Roddenberry’s Star Trek proposal and commissioned a pilot: “The Cage“, which starred Jeffrey Hunter as Captain Christopher Pike and Leonard Nimoy as Mr. Spock. Desilu took the pilot to NBC, who rejected it for being “too cerebral.” However, Ball was sufficiently invested in the concept to commission a second pilot, “Where No Man Has Gone Before.” Hunter declined to appear in the second pilot, and was replaced by William Shatner as Captain James Kirk. NBC was pleased with Roddenberry’s second effort, and the show went into production; while “The Cage” would not be aired in full until decades later, much of it was used in a later two-part episode, “The Menagerie.” Desilu, which also produced shows like Mission: Impossible, Mannix, and The Untouchables, was absorbed into Paramount in the 1960s.

Ball would go on to have another Star Trek connection. Her daughter, Lucie Arnaz, is married to actor Laurence Luckinbill, who played Spock’s long-lost brother Sybok in 1989’s Star Trek V: The Final Frontier.

Nacelle’s Star Trek action figures of Gene Roddenberry and Lucille Ball will be available for pre-order soon. Stay tuned to Collider for future updates.

Recently, Cardi B finally let fans in on the situation. During her “Little Miss Drama” Tour stop in Los Angeles, the rapper addressed the speculation head-on.

While confirming the breakup, Cardi B also used her stage to defend Stefon Diggs from recent criticism by rap rival BIA.

The tension spilled into her live performance before she launched into her diss track “Pretty & Petty.”

In a video shared by a concert-goer on TikTok, Cardi B delivered a heated warning, “Let me tell you something, just because I ain’t f-cking with my baby daddy doesn’t mean you get to talk about my baby daddy, b-tch! This for you, b-tch!”

Afterward, the singer went straight into the diss track performance, during which she had fans go silent after the lyric, “Name five BIA songs, gun pointed to your head.” She then ended the moment with, “Bow! I’m dead.”

The message appeared to respond directly to BIA’s recent social media jab. BIA had earlier aimed at Diggs, writing, “Can u (sic) name someone with more [baby mamas] than receiving yards? I can! and I know that… ykwnvm(you know what, never mind).”

Meanwhile, other fans called out the concertgoers who refused to go silent when the part about BIA came up.

“Yall need to work on the mute challenge before she get to my tour stop,” one fan shared. At the same time, another added, “I don’t think anyone is understanding the assignment. Miami, Fort Lauderdale, let’s please understand the assignment in April cause it’s supposed to be dead silent.”

Diggs’ personal life has also been in the spotlight for a while.

The wide receiver welcomed daughter Charliee Harper with Aileen Lopera in April 2025. He later had two more children with other women.

Lopera initially filed a paternity and child support lawsuit, but later dropped it after DNA tests confirmed Diggs as the father. He has since acknowledged the child publicly.

Pedro Pascal Shows His Face in New ‘The Mandalorian & Grogu’ Trailer

Pedro Pascal in The Mandalorian and Grogu

Disney+ has now been around for seven years since its launch in 2019, and its library of original content has grown year after year. However, the show that started it all was The Mandalorian, which stars Pedro Pascal as the titular bounty hunter, Din Djarin. Set after the events of Return of the Jedi but before the events of The Force Awakens, The Mandalorian tells a more contained story that expanded over three seasons. Other stars like Jack Black also joined the cast as the story of Din Djarin bled into other shows like The Book of Boba Fett. The Mandalorian also helped launch other projects like Ahsoka, which aired its first season back in 2023 and is expected to return to streaming before the end of this year.

Star Wars fans were stunned a few years ago when it was announced that the story of The Mandalorian would continue, but not with a fourth season. Lucasfilm was transitioning to the big screen with The Mandalorian and Grogu, the franchise’s first feature film since 2019’s The Rise of Skywalker. The film is dated for release on May 22, and marketing is now in full swing. After a controversial Super Bowl teaser narrated by Landman’s Sam Elliott, Star Wars has released what may yet be the final trailer for The Mandalorian and Grogu. Not only does it showcase some of the film’s breathtaking action and cinematography, but it also sees Pedro Pascal finally take off the helmet and showcase the face underneath the mask. Things are taking off quickly for The Mandalorian and Grogu ahead of its May launch date.

Star Wars Has Another Movie Coming in 2027

Star Wars is not-so-quietly making its return to the big screen with The Mandalorian and Grogu in a few months, but there is also another movie coming out next year that has all the potential to be great. Almost exactly one year after The Mandalorian and Grogu, Lucasfilm will take flight once more with Starfighter, the new Star Wars story starring Ryan Gosling. Shawn Levy, who most recently directed Deadpool & Wolverine, has been tapped to direct Starfighter with a script from Jonathan Tropper. In addition to Gosling in the lead role, Starfighter also stars Amy Adams, Mia Goth, and Matt Smith.

Check out the new trailer for The Mandalorian and Grogu above and stay tuned to Collider for more updates and coverage of the film.
