Paramount+’s Masterpiece Thriller Is Officially Moving Away From Its Winning Formula for Season 2
Most streaming services often rely on iconic franchises or breakout hits to maintain their success. In the case of Paramount+, it’s mostly been supported by two constants: Taylor Sheridan and Star Trek. Sheridan created a wealth of shows for Paramount+ following Yellowstone’s breakout success. At the same time, Alex Kurtzman and other creators delivered a variety of Trek shows that spanned nearly every era of the final frontier. Paramount+ is now facing a massive shift as Sheridan is set to depart for a lucrative deal at Universal, and the only remaining Star Trek series will be ending next year. A new spy thriller has proven itself to be the next big hit for Paramount+, thanks to a major shift of its own.
The series in question is The Agency, created by veteran screenwriters Jez & John-Henry Butterworth (Ford v Ferrari, Edge of Tomorrow). It stars Michael Fassbender as a CIA agent who’s pulled out of an undercover assignment, only for his life to be upended when his lover (Jodie Turner-Smith) follows him to London. Season 1 of The Agency was a moderate hit, sitting at 66% on Rotten Tomatoes; however, Season 2 shot up to a whopping 90%. What exactly is the reason for this major uptick in critical reception? The answer lies in The Agency shaking up its story and its schedule.
Season 2 of ‘The Agency’ Made a Massive Shift to Its Story
Throughout Season 1 of The Agency, most of the story was dedicated to Fassbender’s Martian struggling to acclimate to life in London, all the while dealing with the cost of a double life. It also featured a different release schedule, with the premiere consisting of two episodes, followed by one episode each at the end of 2024 and the beginning of 2025. Season 2 has radically shaken things up by dropping all 10 of its episodes on a single day. It also marks a significant shift in the story, as Martian ends up leaking information within the CIA while battling the mercenary code-named ‘Viking’ (Chayne Crawford). The bingeworthy storyline, packed with plenty of twists and turns, blends the paranoia of the Jason Bourne franchise with the high-octane action of the James Bond movies. It also secured The Agency a place on Paramount+’s Top 10 TV shows.
While The Agency Season 2 does end on a major cliffhanger, there’s one piece of evidence that it could be renewed for more seasons. The series is an adaptation of the French-language spy thriller The Bureau, which ran for five seasons. The Agency is even closely adapting some of The Bureau‘s plotlines, including the fact that the latter’s protagonist would end up playing the role of double agent in one season. It wouldn’t be the first time an American adaptation of an international series was successful, and with Paramount+ needing more hit series outside Taylor Sheridan and the Star Trek universe, it wouldn’t be surprising if The Agency is renewed for a third season.
One of ‘The Agency’s Creators Is Working on Another Hit Series for Paramount+
The success of The Agency might make Jez & John-Henry Butterworth the next big creative minds for Paramount+, especially since one of them has contributed to another of the streamer’s hit series. Jez Butterworth is also serving as the showrunner for MobLand, the Guy Ritchie-produced crime drama starring Tom Hardy as a fixer for a prominent crime family. While MobLand was hit with rumors that Hardy might depart the series after its upcoming second season, those rumors were quickly put to rest as Paramount representatives said that his return was being “creatively worked through.” Should MobLand return to the same level of critical acclaim as its debut season, it could secure a future renewal for The Agency.
In a time when spy thrillers are starting to become more common on TV, The Agency stands out thanks to its ability to adapt between seasons. A potential third season could keep up the momentum and cement the series as must-watch TV in the vein of Yellowstone.

Noah Kahan Praises Taylor Swift’s Tour Fitness: ‘Not Easy’
Just like Us, Noah Kahan doesn’t quite understand how Taylor Swift can do it all.
“Yo, Taylor Swift must be in such good shape,” Kahan, 29, quipped during his Friday, June 26, concert in Philadelphia, per social media footage. “Holy f***, this is not easy. It’s not even a particularly hot day, I’m just not doing well.”
He added, “If you’re new to this [fandom], I’m always this sweaty.”
Kahan recently kicked off his Great Divide Tour, nearly two years after Swift, 26, wrapped her history-making Eras Tour. Swift traversed countries and continents from 2023 to 2024, singing her entire discography of songs alongside intricate choreography for three hours each performance.
Before Swift embarked on Eras, she famously overhauled her workout regimen.
“Every day I would run on the treadmill, singing the entire set list out loud,” Swift told TIME in December 2023. “Fast for fast songs, and a jog or a fast walk for slow songs.”

In addition, Swift hit the dance studio to master choreographer Mandy Moore’s routines.
“I had three months of dance training because I wanted to get it in my bones,” she recalled to the outlet. “I wanted to be so over-rehearsed that I could be silly with the fans, and not lose my train of thought.”
Swift also worked with personal trainer Kirk Myers at his Dogpound gym to get in shape, utilizing a unique program that incorporated strength, conditioning and weights.
“Her work ethic is just incredible,” Myers told Vogue in April 2024 of working with the 14-time Grammy winner. “Some people would probably throw up or have to lay down on the floor if they trained like her.”
He added at the time, “We approached her training for the Eras Tour with the mindset like a professional athlete. There was an ‘off-season’ when she wasn’t touring and ‘in-season’ when she was. When she’s not touring, we’re in the gym up to six days a week for sometimes two hours a day.”
Swift wrapped Eras in December 2024.
“I was on tour for so long and now I finally am not on tour, and it’s kind of great because I’m getting my hobbies back,” Swift quipped on an October 2025 episode of her fiancé Travis Kelce and his brother Jason Kelce’s “New Heights” podcast, detailing life after the Eras Tour. “When I was on tour, all I had the bandwidth for was, ‘What’s the acoustic mashup this week?’ How do I say, ‘Welcome to the Eras Tour in Portuguese?’ That was the only thing taking up my brain space.”
In the months since Swift finished Eras, she got engaged to Travis, 36, and they are reportedly set to tie the knot this summer.

North West Raises Alarm After Debuting Lip Piercings At Show
North West has been making headlines in recent weeks for her music, fashion, and public appearances.
The daughter of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West recently celebrated her 13th birthday and performed at major music festivals, where she attracted attention with a series of bold looks.
Now, most recently, North West sparked discussion after unveiling a striking new appearance with a lip piercing during Paris Fashion Week.
North West made another bold fashion statement at Paris Fashion Week, debuting a striking set of angel lip piercings while attending the Vetements Menswear Spring-Summer 2027 Show on June 26.
The 13-year-old, who is the eldest child of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, also appeared to be wearing additional facial piercings along her cheekbones and across the bridge of her nose.
She paired the look with a long-sleeved black Vetements top, a black pleated mini skirt, sheer tights, chain-covered boots, and her signature blue hair styled in pigtails.
North has become known for embracing unconventional fashion and self-expression. The teen artist recently released her debut EP, “N0rth4Evr,” and is reportedly preparing for a 14-date tour with Molly Santana.
Earlier this year, she also collaborated with her father on the song “Piercing on My Hand, a track that references her distinctive style.
While some of North’s fashion choices have drawn criticism online, Kardashian has consistently defended her daughter’s right to express herself.
Speaking on the podcast “Call Her Daddy,” the business mogul said she supports her daughter’s creative decisions, including her blue hair, because they make her happy.
The Teenager’s New Piercings Divided Fans
On social media, fans of the 13-year-old rising star were divided over her new piercings, with many wondering if they were authentic piercings.
“What’s with all the piercings?” one individual wrote, while another asked, “Are they real?”
A third person noted, “No hate, but I never did this to myself when I was 13… I don’t even think my mind would comprehend this outfit.”
Other critics brought up her dad, Kanye, claiming he might need to step in due to his past comments about how his children are being raised by his ex-wife and her family.
“Can we let Kanye have custody, please?” someone commented, while another said, “We really owe Kanye an apology.”
The rapper famously went on social media rants, blasting the Kardashian family for putting his children on social media, especially his daughter North, and accusing them of preventing him from seeing the kids. However, things seem to have calmed down in the last few months despite initial legal threats.
Meanwhile, several fans online couldn’t help but gush over North’s latest look, especially her piercing.
A fan on TikTok wrote, “She’s so uniquely herself. It can be inspiring.” Another said, “She looks so much like Kim.”
Kim Kardashian Defends Parenting Style As She Celebrates North’s 13th Birthday
The SKIMS founder has also pushed back against claims that she is overly permissive as a parent.
During an appearance on “Khloe in Wonderland,” Kardashian emphasized that North has “a lot of rules” but said self-expression is one area where she gives her daughter freedom.
The conversation resurfaced shortly after Kardashian celebrated North’s 13th birthday with a heartfelt social media tribute that had fans marveling at just how much the teenager resembles her famous mother.
Marking the milestone on June 15, Kardashian shared a series of photos on Instagram alongside an emotional message dedicated to her eldest child.
“Happy Birthday, my Northiiiiiieeeeeeeee (Uzi voice!!!),” she wrote, per InStyle. “I can’t believe you are officially a teenager!!!!! There’s no one like you, my baby girl! I love being your mom and watching you grow. I love you to the aliens’ galaxies you would speak of as a kid and beyond.”
Kardashian closed out her caption with alien, blue heart, and spaceship emojis, seemingly nodding to her daughter’s vivid blue hair color.
Kim Kardashian Fans Stunned By North West’s Striking Resemblance In New Photos

Kardashian’s birthday post for her daughter featured a collection of images documenting North’s evolution over the years, showcasing her bold fashion choices, vibrant hairstyles, and growing confidence.
Among the photos, one particularly caught fans’ attention: a close-up mother-daughter selfie that highlighted their striking resemblance.
In the image, North wore her signature bright blue hair and coordinated her makeup with Kardashian’s, sporting soft rose-toned eyeshadow, black eyeliner, and glossy pink lips. The pair posed with matching pouts, further emphasizing their nearly identical features.
North completed the look with a pearl-and-silver choker necklace, while Kardashian opted for a sleek bun and a black leather jacket.
Another selfie showed the teenager wearing long, teal-tinted dark hair as she smiled for the camera, revealing silver dental accessories and her distinctive pierced manicure. Kardashian complemented the shot with oversized sunglasses, a textured brown coat, and a chic updo.
North West Expands Music Career With Major Festival Performances

Beyond fashion, North continues to build her music career at an impressive pace. On June 11, she delivered her first solo performance at a major music festival, taking the stage at Lyrical Lemonade’s Summer Smash 2026 in Bridgeview, Illinois.
Proud mother Kardashian documented the occasion on social media, sharing a photo of backstage credentials featuring North’s image alongside the words “Stage 3… North West,” highlighting the significance of the moment.
The performance came just weeks after North surprised fans with an appearance at the Rolling Loud Florida 2026 in Orlando, Florida. During the festival, she joined Molly Santana on stage for a performance of an unreleased collaboration, drawing enthusiastic reactions from the crowd.
For the appearance, North embraced her signature style, sporting bright blue hair, dark sunglasses, and a coordinated leather outfit consisting of a fitted top and matching skirt.
Although Kardashian and Kanye finalized their divorce in 2022, the former couple have remained supportive of their eldest daughter’s creative ambitions. Both parents have publicly celebrated North’s achievements through social media posts and appearances at important events.

Hugh Jackman’s Romance With Sutton Foster Faces New Strain Over Relocation: ‘Not A Happy Relationship At Moment’
There seems to be trouble in paradise in Hugh Jackman‘s romance with Sutton Foster, as reports suggest the lovebirds are at odds over his plans for them to relocate to Australia.
The couple is also grappling with their schedule amid reports they’ve struggled to find “quality time together,” mainly because of his workaholic nature.
Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster have suffered an onslaught of backlash since they went public with their relationship, as many suspect there was an overlap with his marriage to ex-wife Deborra-Lee Furness.

Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster’s honeymoon phase may already be hitting a serious rough patch as insiders hint at a disagreement over his proposed relocation plans.
The pair were the toast of the red carpet just last month at the 2026 Met Gala, but the Broadway actress has been grappling with heated backlash from social media users for their romance.
The situation seemingly prompted the “Wolverine” actor to push for a move to his home country of Australia, but Foster isn’t in support and would rather stay put in New York City.
“Sutton’s idea that they could just keep being this cozy little Broadway couple and work on their theatre projects indefinitely is proving to be a fantasy,” a source told Globe Magazine. “Hugh is always going to be a citizen of the world, and he’s always going to need regular check-ins back in Australia.”
The insider noted that Jackman is a “creature of New York too,” but is only there mostly to be close to his children, Oscar and Ava, whom he shares with ex-wife Deborra-Lee Furness.
Sutton Foster Has Her Own Life In New York

The disagreement has seemingly caused a rift between the former Broadway co-stars, especially because Foster can’t just uproot her life from New York.
According to the insider, the two-time Tony award winner “has her own duties as a divorced mom to tend to in the city,” especially as it concerns her much younger daughter Emily, whom she shares with ex-husband Ted Griffin.
They went further to add that another “reason it’s not a happy relationship at the moment has a lot to do with Hugh’s grand mid-career ambitions.”
While Foster is satisfied keeping up with her Broadway career because that has always been her childhood dream, the source added that Jackman “has much bigger, more global plans” for himself.
“The bottom line is, Hugh knows he needs a partner who can really keep up with him and his schedule, without friction, the way his ex, Deb, was able to do for so many years,” the source said, adding that “Sutton still has a lot of commitments that keep her from doing that.”
Hugh Jackman’s Busy Schedule Has Left The Broadway Star Feeling Isolated

The sudden friction stands in stark contrast to the image the couple has projected over the last year, so much so that it reportedly got to Jackman’s ex-wife, who’s understood to have been dissatisfied at how they’ve been parading themselves around town.
After striking up a close relationship during their run in the 2022 Broadway revival of “The Music Man,” the pair officially went public with their romance in early 2025 following Foster’s divorce from Griffin.
However, there seems to be a problem combining their lives together, as the source told Woman’s Day that the actor’s busy schedule has left her feeling isolated.
The Couple’s Work-Focused Relationship Is Doing ‘More Harm Than Good,’ Sources Claim

Jackman is said to have dove right back into work following his divorce from Furness and has been using it to cope.
Foster was initially in support of it, but since it became “interminable,” she has been left struggling to come to terms with it.
Reports suggest those close to them fear the situation is doing “more harm than good,” and has seen the pair drift apart further.
Sutton Foster Is Starting To Understand What Deborra-Lee Furness Faced During Her Marriage To Hugh Jackman

Some of their outings have also raised eyebrows as to the frosty state of things between them.
They kept a united front as they attended the premiere of his new movie, “The Death of Robin Hood,” but Jackman noticeably went for the after-party alone, leaving many puzzled.
With more projects in the pipeline, a source told the news outlet that their relationship may soon be left hanging by a thread.
“Hugh’s a workaholic, and she’s starting to understand how lonely Deb must have felt at times,” the source said. “Sutton’s finding it hard to be by Hugh’s side at so many events, and he invites her to every single one.”
They continued, “It’s not that she’s shy, but she’s busy with her own career and still has a young daughter to raise. Sadly, the biggest casualty of all is Hugh and Sutton finding quality time together – they’re like passing ships sometimes.”

Dutton Ranch’s Natalie Alyn Lind on the Divisive Reaction to Oreana
Dutton Ranch‘s Natalie Alyn Lind is aware that her character, Oreana, has Yellowstone fans divided.
“I love playing a character that’s loved and hated,” Lind, 26, exclusively told Us Weekly during a joint interview with Finn Little. “I love seeing the fan responses.”
The actress has enjoyed the varied reaction, adding, “There’s something that I giggle about every time that somebody really hates my character because then I’m doing my job right. Because my character is not supposed to be a lovable character necessarily. She’s supposed to create a conversation which has been happening and that’s the best thing in my opinion.”
While not everyone has understood Oreana’s intentions, Lind was thrilled about the challenge.
“That’s been the most exciting part about playing her and that’s what I wanted to do while filming the show,” she shared. “I think that she’s a character with a ton of levels.”
Lind is hoping to learn more about Oreana in future seasons. “The Duttons have been seen for so many years that hopefully with more seasons to come, you’re going to start finding out more about her background,” she teased. “When we started the show, they sat us down and had a conversation about where they came from.”

She continued: “There’s a lot more that has not been seen or told about Oreana that I’m really excited for people to find out. That might explain some of it — not all of it. The behavior sometimes is not redeemable but I think that some parts of her will still, people will look back and be like, ‘Oh, that’s why.’”
Yellowstone viewers met Oreana through her romance with Carter (Little), who grew up on the Paramount Network show. When the franchise expanded with Dutton Ranch, Carter was back — but this time as a high school student preparing for adulthood.
Carter’s first relationship has crashed and burned so far after Oreana took a step back from their romance in the most recent episode of the show.
“Oreana has had a little bit more experience in the whole dating scene. This being Carter’s first love, you do fall head over heels the first time,” Little, 20, exclusively told Us. “I’m not sure if that was what Oreana was expecting but that’s what happened.”
Lind, meanwhile, came to her character’s defense.
“She is the type where her childhood feels like it was taken away from her,” the actress noted. “She’s always been put into a box and told where she has to go to college or what she has to do. Being with Carter has given her her youth back in a way and there’s something whimsical and magical about that.”
Lind continued: “She feels like a kid when she’s around him but she also acts like a child. I think that Carter’s character is a lot more mature than Oreana is at most times and he has a much more level head. But he’s a grounding force. So it’s funny to see a character that is technically older acting like a child with a character that’s younger that acts like he’s — at times — 80 years old.”

Hector Bello’s Wife Died Shielding Baby in Venezuela Earthquakes
South American soccer star Héctor Bello’s wife, Andrea Bello, died amid the recent catastrophic earthquakes in Venezuela.
“You’ll always be our favorite heroine, Mommy. I’ll make sure to remind our baby girl how wonderful you were and how much you loved her,” Héctor, 28, wrote via Instagram on Friday, June 26. “I’ll tell her the story of how you saved her, my love — how you gave your own life for our daughter, how you were a brave woman who never abandoned her, even as you breathed your last.”
Venezuela was hit by a 7.2-magnitude earthquake on Wednesday, June 24. Andrea’s body had been found in the rubble, according to soccer club Cumaná de Campeones.
“We regret to inform you that the partner of Cumanes footballer Héctor Bello ‘Kike’ was found dead in the rubble after the earthquake that shook the country yesterday afternoon/evening,” a statement in Spanish read. “His daughter survived the collapse of the building where the entire family lived. The entire state of Sucre and the entire football community embrace you and stand with you in respect and solidarity, hoping you find peace in this time of sorrow.”
Per the organization and Héctor’s tribute, Andrea had shielded 20-month-old daughter Alana from the natural disaster.
“There’s one thing I can’t forgive you for, Mommy: you left my soul shattered,” Héctor added in his Friday upload. “You left me to fight this battle alone — a fight we always said was ours to face together. Do you remember sending me that photo? I told you, ‘That little girl is so beautiful,’ and you asked, ‘Me too, right?’ and started laughing. I told you, ‘Yes, you’re beautiful too, but not as beautiful as me, haha.’”
He continued, “We used to laugh on the phone, and the baby would always hang up the call—or get scared when we used filters, saying, ‘Daddy, no like.’ Oh, my Andrea… Mommy, you’ve shattered my soul. I’ll always remember you, Mommy — always. Remember how I used to tell you that you’d be my woman for the rest of my life? You’d laugh, looking so in love, and your cheeks would turn red. Oh, Andrea… Mommy, I can’t handle this, my love — I really can’t.”
There were many other fatalities during the earthquake, with Héctor also working to support other victims’ families.
“I am helping out however I can and with whomever I can,” he wrote in Spanish via his Instagram Stories later on Friday. “Anyone in Caracas who needs assistance, please let me know. Many people are lending me a hand, and I know my little girl isn’t the only one going through this — there are many other children as well.”

Why Kate Gosselin Is Allegedly ‘Spiraling’ Ahead Of Collin’s Memoir
Kate Gosselin is reportedly bracing for a new chapter in her family’s long-running public feud as her estranged son, Collin Gosselin, prepares to release a memoir detailing his childhood experiences. The former “Kate Plus 8” star is said to have been caught off guard by the announcement of Collin’s upcoming book, “In The Shadow of Eight: Surviving the Reality of My Childhood,” which is scheduled for release on October 13.

According to a source connected to the family, Kate had no idea the project was in the works until it was publicly announced. “Kate had no idea this book was in the works,” the insider told Daily Mail. “Collin hasn’t spoken to his mother since she abandoned him in an institution as a young child.”
The source went on to allege that the reality TV matriarch is deeply concerned about what could be revealed once the book hits shelves. “She didn’t expect any of this to ever come out. Now she’s spiraling because she knows it’s about to hit the fan,” the insider claimed.
Collin Gosselin Promises To Expose ‘Abuse’ And ‘Exploitation’ In New Book
While details about the memoir remain limited, Collin has made it clear that he intends to share his side of the story after years of public scrutiny.
The 22-year-old announced the project on Instagram last week, describing it as an opportunity to speak openly about his upbringing and experiences in one of reality television’s most recognizable families. “This isn’t the story people think they know. It’s the story I’ve lived,” he wrote.
Collin stressed that the memoir was not created for “entertainment” purposes. “It is a story to instill responsibility in everyone to advocate and speak up against abuse, injustice, and the exploitation of children,” he continued. “I not only poured my heart into this book for my younger self, but for ALL who have faced unfair and outright heinous acts as children. I am your voice. I stand with you.”
Kate Gosselin Has Previously Denied Collin’s Allegations

Collin has publicly criticized his mother in recent years, including during a 2023 Vice TV documentary and a 2024 interview in which he accused Kate of abuse and claimed she alienated him from his siblings. He has also spoken about being placed in a mental health facility when he was 11 years old following diagnoses that included autism, ADHD, and bipolar disorder.
Kate has strongly denied allegations of abuse. “My son Collin, whom I love with all my heart, has received multiple psychiatric diagnoses over the years,” she said in a statement to People. “For the safety of myself, his brothers and sisters and for his own well-being, he was placed in a facility following years of outpatient treatment which proved insufficient for his needs.”
According to previous reports, Collin was later re-evaluated as an adult and found by a clinical psychologist not to have any current psychiatric or behavioral issues.
Kate Gosselin Accused Collin Of Having A ‘Distorted Perception Of Reality’

Kate also pushed back against her son’s claims, arguing that he has a “distorted perception of reality.” “As many people who have family members grappling with mental health issues can attest, it is rarely and sadly surprising when complete fabrications occur, and this is just another heartbreaking facet of this fight,” she said.
“Unfortunately, I believe Collin remains a very troubled young man who continues to need a lot of help,” she added. “His brothers and sisters and I have not been directly involved in his life due to his history of unpredictable behavior and violent tendencies towards us.”
Collin Says The Book Finally Gives Him His Voice
In announcing the memoir, Collin reflected on growing up in front of millions of viewers while claiming much of his experience happened away from the cameras.
“Growing up, millions of people watched my life on television. People felt like they knew me. They knew my family. They watched me grow up. But there was so much they never saw,” he said. “For years, I kept those experiences to myself. Some because I was afraid. Some because I didn’t think anyone would believe me. And some because I just wasn’t ready.”
The reality TV alum said revisiting those memories was difficult but ultimately empowering. “Writing this book forced me to revisit some of the hardest moments of my life, but it also gave me something I’ve been searching for for a long time: my voice,” he said.
The book’s cover also appears to make a statement, featuring a 2010 paparazzi photo that shows Kate with her hand covering a young Collin’s mouth.

Kate and ex-husband Jon Gosselin, who divorced in 2009, share twins Cara and Madelyn, as well as sextuplets Alexis, Hannah, Aaden, Collin, Leah, and Joel. The family has remained divided in the years since their reality TV fame peaked, with Collin maintaining a close relationship with his father.
The insider also claimed that some of Collin’s siblings may be surprised by the contents of the memoir because they were young when many of the events allegedly took place and only know what they have been told over the years.
With the book’s release still months away, the memoir is already reigniting interest in one of reality television’s most complicated and controversial family dynamics.

7 Years Later, Quentin Tarantino’s Near-Perfect Masterpiece Is Still Untouchable
Few directors have had as polarizing or successful a career as Quentin Tarantino, who is well-regarded as one of the greatest filmmakers to ever step behind a camera. Fans could spend years arguing about which of Tarantino’s films is his magnum opus — some would point to Pulp Fiction (and rightfully so), while others would look at newer classics like Django Unchained. While it’s still unclear if Tarantino will ever direct another movie, he has written the script for a sequel film coming out later this year, The Adventures of Cliff Booth, starring Brad Pitt. Tarantino passed on the directing torch to David Fincher for the new Cliff Booth movie, which Netflix has now confirmed will play in theaters before it begins streaming this December. The film can safely be considered one of the most anticipated movies of the year.
The Adventures of Cliff Booth is a spin-off of Quentin Tarantino’s 2019 film, Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood, which won Brad Pitt his first and only acting Oscar to this day. Leonardo DiCaprio starred alongside Pitt in the original film, but he will reportedly not have a role to play in the sequel spin-off, which will take Cliff Booth on a brand-new adventure. Still, before Tarantino’s first movie in seven years heads to IMAX theaters this November, fans are revisiting the film that inspired it in droves. Not only has the film surged back into the Hulu top 10 in America, but it has also quietly become a VOD smash hit on Apple TV in more than 10 countries around the world. Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood certainly has a case for being Tarantino’s magnum opus, especially if it ends up being his final film.
Is ‘Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood’ Quentin Tarantino’s Magnum Opus?
It’s up for debate whether Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood is Quentin Tarantino’s magnum opus, or whether that title belongs to another film like Pulp Fiction or Django Unchained, though it’s important to note that Tarantino did use the working title Magnum Opus for the 2019 showbiz drama. The latter is Tarantino’s highest-grossing movie, which earned nearly $450 million at the global box office. It also is one of two Tarantino-directed films that won Christoph Waltz an Oscar — the other film to do so is Inglourious Basterds, which also stars Brad Pitt and Michael Fassbender.
Check out Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood on Hulu, and stay tuned to Collider for more updates and coverage of The Adventures of Cliff Booth.

Prime Video’s Criminally Underrated 10-Part Superhero Noir Is a Must-Watch Before Season 2
There has been more content released for Batman than for any other superhero, and it doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon. Given the rich history and complexity of the source material, there is room for multiple iterations of the character in comics, shows, cartoons, and on the big screen. There have been many animated shows that have attempted to live up to the legacy of Batman: The Animated Series, but Batman: Caped Crusader is a radical new take on the Dark Knight that brings the universe back to its origins in the ‘40s and ‘60s. By stripping away the DC universe’s larger worldbuilding and focusing directly on Batman’s relationship with Gotham City, Batman: Caped Crusader manages to say something new about a character that has existed for almost 90 years.
While not a direct continuation, Batman: Caped Crusader was developed by Batman: The Animated Series creator Bruce Timm and is set in a new timeline where a young Bruce Wayne (voiced by Hamish Linklater) is in the early stages of becoming a crime fighter. Although villains like the Penguin (Minnie Driver) and Catwoman (Christina Ricci) prove to be thorns in his side, Batman’s greatest opponent is the institutional corruption of Gotham City, as criminal activity has become rampant due to the compromised ethics of the police department. Batman: Caped Crusader isn’t just a noir series because of its art style, but one that embodies the genre’s moody atmosphere, hardboiled mysteries, and paranoid suspense.
‘Batman: Caped Crusader’ Remixes DC Mythology Into a Noir Series
Batman: Caped Crusader is unique compared to previous DC animated shows because it offers a serialized adventure about Batman’s attempts to dismantle the mob, led by the treacherous politician Rupert Thorne (Cedric Yarbrough). It’s an interesting way to recontextualize a rogues’ gallery, presenting classic villains as consequences of broader institutional issues but not the root cause. Batman might never be able to stop unpredictable accidents from creating costumed antagonists, but he does have an opportunity to expose the secret powerbrokers who are compromising the safety of Gotham City’s politicians. However, Batman: Caped Crusader also deals with Batman’s legacy as a vigilante, and how being a target of the police force makes it harder for him to be publicly viewed as a force of good. The series offers a compelling rival for Batman in Harvey Bullock (John DiMaggio), a sadistic cop who sees unmasking the fabled Caped Crusader as his best opportunity to attain personal glory.
Matt Reeves’ 2026 Batman TV Series Will Feature The Joker in a Huge Role
The ‘Caped Crusader’ is up against his most iconic villain.
Batman: Caped Crusader is able to distinguish itself because the show offers fleshed-out versions of classic allies. Barbara Gordon (Krystal Joy Brown) is a public defender who seeks to use the system in order to attain justice by civil means, which puts her in stark contrast with her father, Jim (Eric Morgan Stuart), who has aided in providing police resources to Batman. The series also has one of the most compelling depictions of Harvey Dent’s (Diedrich Bader) tragic fall from grace during his transformation into the villain Two-Face. Prior adaptations often assume that his personality switched immediately after the acid attack melted half of his face, but Bader is able to show how Dent struggles with the two personas that exist within his mind, each of which feeds into the other. The notion of a true friendship between Dent and Bruce, who are initially unaware of each other’s secrets, makes the eventual standoff between Batman and Two-Face even more enthralling. Renee Montoya (Michelle C. Bonilla), who is a relatively recent addition to the comics, also plays a major role in the first season as both Gotham’s sharpest police detective and a love interest for Barbara.
‘Batman: Caped Crusader’ Embodies the ”World’s Greatest Detective”
Although the replication of period-accurate visual details makes for a vibrant series, Batman: Caped Crusader also homages the politics and philosophy of the ‘40s. It wouldn’t make sense in an era of less concentrated media for Bruce to be depicted as a lavish playboy, and thus Linklater’s portrayal of the character as an isolated, enigmatic member of Gotham’s high society makes sense. Similarly, Batman: Caped Crusader examines the post-war anxieties of cities that truly felt isolated and left to their own devices, as there is never the sense that the burgeoning criminal activity in Gotham could become a cause for intervention. It makes the pressure on Batman even greater, and it’s through his love of the city that the series is able to piece together an origin story that doesn’t quite fall in line with traditional interpretations.
Batman: Caped Crusader is the perfect series for those who are overwhelmed by the connected universes going on in the vast majority of DC animated programs, but the show is also drawn from the most classic era of Batman comics, which haven’t been used as an influence on many of the recent cinematic adaptations. Although the show has introduced versions of many iconic characters, with a particularly notable villain teased for Season 2, it has also offered something new to the franchise rather than spending its focus on directly adapting specific comic storylines. There will likely continue to be even more Batman stories given the character’s enduring popularity, but Batman: Caped Crusader is both a stylized reimagination and a thoughtful reconsideration of the superhero’s timeless relevance.
