Taylor Frankie Paul Breaks Silence Over Avoided Charges
Taylor Frankie Paul has spoken publicly about avoiding charges following her recent alleged domestic violence dispute with ex Dakota Mortensen.
Taking to her Instagram Stories on Tuesday, April 14, Taylor, 31, shared a blurry photo of a vase filled with flowers and a card featuring a butterfly image. “Cried when I got the call 🙏 THANK YOU to those that have stood with me,” she captioned the snap.
The post went live just hours after Us Weekly confirmed via a statement shared by district attorney Sim Gill’s office that Taylor will not be charged as a result of an alleged dispute that halted production of season 5 of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives in February. (News of the alleged altercation and filming halt broke on March 16.)
“After reviewing reports and evidence submitted to the Draper Police Department and West Jordan Police Department, the Salt Lake County District Attorney’s Office has declined to file charges against Taylor Frankie Paul,” the statement read. Deadline was first to report on the news.
Us confirmed in March via a spokesperson for Utah’s Draper City Police Department that there was an open “domestic assault investigation” into an alleged altercation between Taylor and Dakota, 33. According to authorities at the time, allegations were “made in both directions,” and “contact was made with involved parties on [February] 24th and 25th.”
After news of the investigation broke, footage of a 2023 altercation between the pair, who share son Ever, 2, together, was released by TMZ. At the time, Taylor was arrested and pleaded guilty to aggravated assault. Additional charges of domestic violence in the presence of a child, child abuse with injury and criminal mischief were dismissed.

Taylor is currently placed on a 36-month probation which is scheduled to end on Monday, August 24.
The reality TV star, whose season 22 of The Bachelorette was pulled by ABC prior to airing as a result of the recent investigation, spoke about her 2023 arrest during season 1 of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. “It was the worst night of my life,” she said on the Hulu series. “After the arrest, I was under so much stress. I was filmed leaving the jail and then that was immediately on the internet. It was a blessing in disguise. It helped me wake up.”
In an Instagram post shared on Thursday, April 9, Taylor thanked fans for their support during the more recent scandal. “Just want to say THANK YOU to those that have all helped carry,” the post read. “Nothing but gratitude for these gifts given by different people at different times that have been essential for me through this specific time.”
Her post continued, “Thank you to every message, meal, gift, call, prayer, and support of any kind sent. There is the human side of this and then it gets to a point of it being miraculous when you start to see it from a bigger lens.”

Who Won ‘The Voice’ Season 29? Meet Alexia Jayy From Team Adam
The Voice’s first-ever “Battle of the Champions” has crowned a winner.
During the season 29 finale on Tuesday, April 14, Carson Daly revealed that Alexia Jayy of Adam Levine’s team received the most votes.
“There is no one more deserving of this honor,” Levine, 47, said after Jayy’s win.
In lieu of live shows with voting from viewers at home, The Voice’s in-studio audience — consisting of the NBC singing competition’s biggest fans and alums — decided the winner, as well as the Top 4 artists during the semi-finals on Monday, April 13.
The audience ultimately chose Jayy, Team Kelly Clarkson’s Mikenley Brown and Liv Ciara, and Team John Legend’s Lucas West as the Top 4.
Brown, 19, is a powerhouse singer from New Castle, Indiana, who previously competed on American Idol. She sang a captivating rendition of “I’m Not the Only One” by Sam Smith in the semi-finals.
Ciara, 16, is a singer-songwriter and high school student from St. Peters, Missouri. Her journey to the Top 4 came after she previously did not receive any chair turns when she auditioned in season 28. She opted to sing a stripped-down version of “What a Feeling” by Irene Cara in the semi-finals.
Jayy, 31, is an R&B singer from Alabama. She has been performing professionally since she was 8 years old. Jayy blew the audience away with a rendition of “I Never Loved a Man (The Way I Love You)” by Aretha Franklin in the semi-finals.
West, 20, is a singer and pianist from Fairport, New York. The SUNY Fredonia student is also known for performing the National Anthem at Buffalo Bills games. He performed Paul McCartney‘s “Maybe I’m Amazed” in the semi-finals — and the audience certainly was amazed.
The Voice season 29 marked a significant change for the reality show. Instead of the typical four coaches, Clarkson, 43, Legend, 47, and Levine returned as “all-star” coaches. Levine previously served as an original coach in seasons 1 through 16 before his exit in 2019, while Clarkson exited in 2023 after nine on-off seasons as a coach.
As for Legend, he last appeared on the show during season 27 in 2025.
The season’s “Battle of the Champions” theme featured plenty of twists, including a Triple-Turn Competition during the blind auditions, where the coach with the most three-chair turn artists won a “super steal” to use in the Battles, as well as an All-Star Showdown, where returning artists from past seasons competed on behalf of their coaches. (Clarkson won both competitions, giving her the super steal and the ability to send two artists to the finale instead of one.)
The season also brought special guests from The Voice’s past, including Jennifer Hudson, Michael Bublé and CeeLo Green.

Meghan Markle’s Everyday Polene Tote Bag – Copy the Look for Less
Us Weekly has affiliate partnerships. We receive compensation when you click on a link and make a purchase. Learn more!
It should come as no surprise that Meghan Markle can even make her casual, running-errands outfit look polished and chic. And we think we might know the reason why. Her secret is to pair simple basics with elevated accessories, something Markle showed off recently when she stepped out carrying maybe the most stylish tote bag we’ve ever seen.
Markle was spotted leaving a store in Montecito with some shopping bags in hand. Her laid-back look, consisting of a brown utility coat, straight-leg jeans, simple flats and a printed scarf, was cute, but it was her sleek, camel-colored bag that really caught our eye. Unfortunately, that exact Polene Cyme bag costs a little more than we’d like to spend, but we were able to find a very similar version from Walmart – and it costs less than $40.
Get the Time and Tru Tulip Tote Bag for $38 at Walmart! Please note, prices are accurate as of the publishing date but are subject to change.
The Time and Tru Tulip Tote Bag is functional, with a minimalist style that mimics Markle’s bag. It has a similar curved silhouette and also comes in a brown shade (it’s just a little darker), with the same strap design: one set of straps is long enough to wear over your shoulder, while the other set is small enough to carry in your hand.
While the Walmart version looks like it might be a little larger than Markle’s bag, that’s probably a good thing. The roomy interior makes this an excellent work bag, with two smaller pockets and one zippered pocket for organization. It’s functional but also chic, and it definitely appears to be more expensive than it is.
Shoppers agree – one reviewer noted that the bag “looks far more high-end than you might expect,” and added that the bag is “big enough to carry a large iPad and maybe a smaller laptop.” Another shopper raved, “I get so many compliments for this beautiful bag!”
Another thing shoppers love is how functional it is. “I love this bag for my work tote,” one reviewer noted. “It holds my laptop and all my stuff, long shoulder straps with a second option for carrying – stands on its own. Great value and does not look cheap for faux leather.”
With its pretty floral-inspired design, this tote bag is perfect for spring and summer – but honestly, it can be used at any time of the year. Be sure to snag one now to channel your inner Montecito mom style, just like Markle.

Alix Earle Watches Alex Cooper’s Request to Air Their Beef
Alix Earle and Alex Cooper’s ongoing feud doesn’t appear to be simmering any time soon.
One day after Earle, 25, announced that she was “on it” after Cooper, 31, requested she publicly break down their mysterious conflict, Earle shared a video that captured the moment she first watched Cooper’s request.
“Shoutout to my friends for knowing I would want this moment captured,” Earle captioned the Tuesday, April 14, TikTok clip. Additional text, pasted atop the clip, further set up the scene: “If you’re wondering, this is how I was woken up the morning after Coachella.”
The video then showed two of Earle’s friends opening a bedroom door to greet a sleeping Earle with a phone poised to play Cooper’s request to “get specific … what’s the beef?”
One of the two friends are then seen telling a horizontal Earle, surrounded by pillows, “We have to show you a TikTok,” before Earle lifts herself up to see what’s on the screen. As Cooper’s voice is overheard in her recording, which was posted by the “Call Her Daddy” podcast host on Monday, April 13, Earle asks her friend, “Is it funny?” before continuing to tune in.
When Cooper is heard telling the camera, “What’s the beef?” Earle says, “OK” with a smile before the video cuts to her grabbing her own phone and telling her pals, “That just literally made my morning.”

Cooper made headlines on Monday when she recorded herself questioning Earle for allegedly alluding to drama between the pair by reposting a TikTok throwing shade at Cooper.
“You guys know I don’t usually address this kind of stuff because it feels like a waste of time. And honestly, it’s embarrassing to participate in this,” Cooper said in her video. “But I am obviously seeing the videos and I’m getting tagged. I see the DMs, I see the comments. So, at this point, it just feels long overdue.”
Cooper, who recorded Earle’s “Hot Mess” podcast from September 2023 to February 2025 under her Unwell Network media company, then directly addressed Earle: “Hey, girl. The passive aggressive reposts and the ‘likes’ and the commenting on things, I gotta call you out here. There’s no NDA and no one is stopping you. Stop hiding behind other people and just say it yourself. What’s the beef?” (Earle went on to launch her “Get Real With Me” series outside of the Unwell Network.)

Alex Cooper Elyse Jankowski/Getty Images
Cooper continued, “I’m really tired of waking up and seeing you using this fake drama to distract from other s*** going online for you. Not interested. I know what happened and so do you. So talk. Unless the fake narrative that you’re creating happens to be way more interesting than the truth. I have nothing to hide when it comes to you and me. Unless you actually have something to say, I’m out.”
Rumors of a rift between the pair stemmed from their work together at Unwell, and gained momentum once “Hot Mess” was dropped by the company in 2025.
At the time, Earle addressed the show’s dismissal via two TikToks. “Obviously, there’s been a lot of chatter online this week about me and work. And I also have no idea what’s going on,” Earle said in one before a second continued, “Don’t really want to get into the details of it all, and I kind of can’t get into the details of it all right now, but I’ve loved it so much, and I’m really proud of what I built with the podcast.”

Zorro Officially Returns in Swashbuckling First Look at the Iconic Western Hero’s New Series [Exclusive]
Literature’s greatest swashbuckler is back in action in the new series Zorro. In this new French series, the legendary masked man is portrayed by Jean Dujardin, who won the Academy Award for Best Actor for his performance in The Artist. The series will premiere on the streaming service MHz Choice this summer, but before then, Collider has an exclusive sneak peek at an action-packed preview scene.
The clip opens on a California stockade, where Zorro has been imprisoned. However, no jail can contain Zorro, and before long he’s loose; with his trademark cunning, he locks his two jailers into his now-empty cell. Of course, he now has the rest of the garrison to deal with, but that’s no challenge for the grinning swordsman, who promptly draws his rapier and holds his foes at bay. The series centers around an older Zorro, who has put away his mask and sword to take up his late father’s responsibilities. However, he can’t resist the pull of righting wrongs and fighting injustice…and so Zorro lives once more. But what happens when Zorro and his alter ego are at odds? You’ll have to find out on June 30, when Zorro premieres on MHz Choice.
Who Is Zorro?
Created by American writer Johnston McCulley in the 1919 pulp novel The Curse of Capistrano, Zorro is one of the most enduring action-adventure characters in literature, and has served to inspire legions of fictional do-gooders, including the Lone Ranger and Batman. Zorro (Spanish for “fox”) is secretly Don Diego de la Vega, a wealthy playboy in 18th and 19th-century California. Donning a mask, a hat, and an all-black ensemble, Zorro fights for the downtrodden against the tyrannical forces that would keep them down. The book was originally intended as a stand-alone novel, but it was adapted into The Mark of Zorro, a silent film starring Douglas Fairbanks, and became immensely popular. A long-running series of books followed, as did a bevy of screen adaptations. Notable on-screen Zorros include Tyrone Power (in 1940’s The Mark of Zorro), Guy Williams (in the 1950s Zorro TV series), and Antonio Banderas (in 1998’s The Mask of Zorro and its 2005 sequel, The Legend of Zorro).
MHz Choice is a streaming service that specializes in international programming. Other notable series available to stream on MHz Choice include the Danish noir The Killing, the German thriller Babylon Berlin, and the Canadian horror series Something Undone.
Zorro premieres on MHz Choice on June 30. Stay tuned to Collider for future updates.

Guy Fieri Unfazed As Tate Backlash Continues Online
What began as a fleeting interaction at a high-profile UFC event has quickly turned into a headline-making controversy for Guy Fieri.
The celebrity chef found himself at the center of backlash after a brief exchange with Andrew and Tristan Tate went viral, sparking debate online and prompting insiders to reveal how he is handling the fallout.
Guy Fieri’s Viral Moment With Tate Brothers Sparks Backlash
When Guy Fieri attended the UFC 327 fight in Miami, it seemed like just another public appearance.
However, as The Blast reported, things took an unexpected turn when he was seen greeting Andrew Tate and Tristan Tate.
The brief moment, captured by an onlooker, showed Fieri exchanging a handshake and friendly gestures with the brothers.
While the interaction appeared casual and upbeat, the optics quickly ignited a storm online once the clip spread across social media.
Fans who have long admired the Food Network star for his easygoing persona and wide appeal reacted strongly, with many expressing disappointment over what they perceived as an endorsement of the controversial figures.
Guy Fieri Addresses The Situation Publicly
As the backlash intensified, Fieri moved to clarify what happened from his perspective. Taking to X, he explained the context behind the viral moment.
“I was there to see the fights and when I was walking through the venue, the Tate brothers stood up and said hello and that’s when the exchange happened,” he wrote.
He continued, “I did not know them or about them before that moment. I’ll never pretend to be a perfect person but let me be crystal clear, I do not know the Tate brothers nor do I support them in any way.”
His statement aimed to draw a clear line between a brief public interaction and any deeper association, but it did little to immediately calm the online reaction.
Guy Fieri Insiders Say He Is Not Losing Sleep Over The Fallout

Behind the scenes, however, the tone appears far more measured. According to sources who spoke to the Daily Mail, Fieri is not overly concerned about the criticism.
“In public, Guy is on autopilot as he meets so many people he knows and doesn’t know, and he realizes this was an error in judgment but isn’t going to stress much about it,” a source close to him said.
The insider emphasized that the interaction was fleeting and not indicative of any personal relationship.
They shared, “They weren’t in some secret meetings or breaking bread and having a full-on dinner. They interacted and it isn’t like they are best friends and are on vacation together.”
Fieri Believes The Controversy Will Fade Quickly

While the online conversation continues, those close to Guy Fieri suggest he is confident the storm will pass.
According to the same source, he expects the backlash to lose momentum in the coming days.
The insider shared, “Guy anticipates that this will blow over and isn’t going to keep apologizing because he feels that it was an innocent incident while in public.”
That outlook reflects a broader belief that the controversy, though intense, is temporary.
For Fieri, the focus appears to remain on moving forward rather than engaging in prolonged public debate.
Professional Impact Appears Minimal Despite The Uproar

Despite the strong reactions online, insiders indicate that the controversy is unlikely to have lasting professional consequences for the longtime TV personality.
“The Food Network isn’t going to punish him over this interaction,” the source said. “They are going to let Guy live his life and not have this take him down.”
That reassurance suggests that, at least from an industry standpoint, the incident is being treated as an isolated moment rather than something that could affect his career trajectory.
Meanwhile, the controversy surrounding the Tate brothers continues to loom large.
The pair have faced multiple legal challenges in recent years, including investigations and charges in Europe, though they have consistently denied any wrongdoing.
For Guy Fieri, however, the situation appears to be one he is ready to move past.
While the viral clip may have sparked a wave of criticism, insiders paint a picture of someone who sees the moment as a minor misstep in a life that often unfolds in the public eye.

Todd Tucker EXPOSED for Cheating on Kandi Burruss with Multiple Women!
Todd Tucker EXPOSED for Cheating on Kandi Burruss with Multiple Women!
Todd Tucker is accused of cheating on Kandi Burruss with multiple women amid their explosive divorce.
“Kandi and Todd had been having marriage troubles for a while now. Kandi was not happy because she found out that Todd had been talking to other women behind her back,” a source tells PEOPLE exclusively. “She had no idea.” As the rumors circulated, Kandi opened up publicly about the emotional toll of the split. On Wednesday, the Real Housewives of Atlanta alum posted a series of smiling photos on Instagram — taken the same day she filed for divorce — but told her followers the truth behind the images.
“This is what I look like when I’m going through something,” the Bravolebrity, 49, began her caption.
She continued, “I show up for my family, I show up for my friends, I show up to handle my business, & I show up with a smile all while on the inside I’m emotionally broken. In every pic of this video I was internally dealing with something life changing that most of the people in the pics with me had no clue of my inner stress & sadness.” Kandi insisted that her upbeat appearance was not deception but survival.
“This is not being fake,” she wrote. “This is just how I deal with things. I internalize and deal with it alone. I am the poster child for the saying ‘check on your strong friend because you never know what they are going through.’” Although she said she “normally [doesn’t] like to share stuff like this,” she felt compelled to open up after revisiting an old song she “wrote years ago,” which she says “perfectly describe[s]” how she feels now.
In the emotional lyrics, Kandi Burruss sings, “I can’t keep running away.” Another verse adds, “I haven’t shed a tear not even a whimper since December / I haven’t broke my cool or lost my temper / I’m censored.” “But deep down I want to explode and just let all my frustrations go,” the song continues. “Sometimes I want to scream and release the pain I have in me.” While Kandi has not addressed the infidelity allegations, she did say during a November Amazon Live that the breakup had been “brewing for a while.”
Amid Todd allegedly cheating, the estranged couple has been battling in court. Todd Tucker requested primary physical custody along with joint legal custody and final decision-making authority, and he also challenged the validity of their 2014 prenuptial agreement, claiming he signed it under pressure without proper legal counsel.
Kandi responded by asking the court to seal the proceedings to protect their children and prevent sensitive information from spreading online. She later filed an amended petition defending the prenup, pointing to RHOA footage showing Todd acknowledging he was “good to sign” after consulting his attorney. Kandi is seeking joint custody, a determination of child support, and affirmed that the marriage is “irretrievably broken” with “no reasonable hope for reconciliation.”

Anna Kendrick’s ‘Weird Night’ With Katy Perry Resurfaces
Anna Kendrick is back in the headlines after a resurfaced interview about Katy Perry began making the rounds online. During a 2014 appearance on Conan, Kendrick recalled what she described as a “weird” moment involving the pop star at the Grammys. At the time, the exchange was treated as humorous, but the clip has since resurfaced in a much different context.

“Katy Perry finger-banged my cleavage. It was a weird night,” Kendrick said during the interview as the audience erupted in laughter. “She’s very mature.”
The conversation continued as host Conan O’Brien asked for more details about the unexpected interaction. “I have met her before, and she’s like … she’s aggressive. I like it,” Kendrick said.
When asked about the moment, Kendrick suggested her outfit may have played a role. Her plunging Azzaro gown was “kinda asking for it,” she said, before adding, “If nobody had done it, I would’ve been a little sad.”
The renewed attention comes after Ruby Rose made explosive claims about Katy Perry over the weekend.
Ruby Rose Makes Bombshell Claims About Perry

Taking to social media, Rose alleged an incident that she says occurred years ago at a nightclub in Melbourne. “Katy Perry sexual assaulted me at spice market nightclub in Melbourne. Who gives a sh-t what she thinks,” Rose wrote.
She went on to describe the alleged encounter in graphic detail, claiming she previously reframed the story publicly. “After it I threw up on her, I told the story publicly but changed it to be a ‘funny little drunk story’ because I didn’t know how else to handle it,” Rose alleged.
Rose also explained why she stayed silent for years. “I was only in my early 20s. I’m now 40. It has taken almost 2 decades to say this publicly,” she wrote. “Though I am so grateful to have made it long enough to find my voice, it just shows how much of an impact trauma and sexual assault takes. Thank you for seeing me.”
Katy Perry Denies Claims As Cryptic Post Raises Eyebrows

A representative for Perry has strongly denied the allegations. “The allegations being circulated on social media by Ruby Rose about Katy Perry are not only categorically false, they are dangerous reckless lies,” the rep said.
“Ms. Rose has a well-documented history of making serious public allegations on social media against various individuals, claims that have repeatedly been denied by those named,” the statement continued.
Following the denial, Perry appeared to respond indirectly with a cryptic Instagram Stories. “I love you,” the singer wrote, sharing an image tied to her 2013 track “By the Grace of God,” a song centered on survival and recovery.

As the conversation around Perry continues to gain traction following recent allegations, past remarks from her ex-husband Russell Brand are also being revisited. During a podcast appearance last year, Brand reflected on their relationship, offering a notably different perspective amid the current controversy.
“What can I tell you is, when I was married to Katy Perry, she’s like a, not entirely normal, because she’s an extraordinary, massive star, but she’s not weird or off key,” he said during his podcast “Stay Free with Russell Brand” in April 2025. “And wasn’t involved in anything nefarious, as far as I could tell.”
He added, “The reasons that a marriage didn’t work are the normal human reasons marriages don’t work, and I have nothing but respect for her.”
Russell Brand Shares Rare Insight Into Katy Perry Marriage

While he acknowledged they didn’t always see eye to eye, Brand said that’s simply part of any relationship. “I obviously disagree with her political views,” he continued. “But I probably disagree with some of my wife’s political views, my beloved wife, Laura Brand’s political views. So, you know, you always disagree with people, don’t ya?”
Since their 2012 split, both Brand and Perry, who share daughter Daisy Dove with ex-fiancé Orlando Bloom, have only occasionally spoken about their time together, making his latest comments a rare glimpse into their past.

Sydney Sweeney Stuns in 2nd American Eagle Ad After Drama
Sydney Sweeney has teamed up with American Eagle again for a sexy summer campaign following her previously controversial ad with the company.
Sweeney, 28, posed for the brand’s “Syd for Short: American Eagle Jean Shorts” ad, which launched on Wednesday, April 15. In the campaign, the Euphoria actress looked her best in a pair of blue denim cutoffs, which she teamed with a white blouse that fell off her shoulder.
In another shot, Sweeney rocked a pair of light-wash shorts complete with a frayed hem. She kept her look simple with a plain white tee. Sweeney beamed for the camera and showed off her glowy skin and soft makeup, which included pink lips, long lashes and a touch of highlighter. She made her look even more beachy with her blonde bob styled in loose waves.
Elsewhere in the ad, Sweeney showed a glimpse of skin while sizzling in a blue crochet top and sitting on a sandy set.
She also starred in a campaign video, where she wore a denim crop top tied in a knot at her waist and long shorts.
“What brand am I wearing?” Sweeney said as she posed in front of a blue sky backdrop. The camera then cut to her dancing and posing in different outfits, proving just how versatile the shorts are.

“Yeah, that one,” she said while giggling. “American Eagle jean shorts.”
In a subsequent press release, Sweeney said that there’s “something timeless about a great pair of jean shorts.”
“They’re simple, but they make you feel confident and put-together without trying too hard,” she continued.
Sweeney also opened up about the brand creating custom styles that donate 100 percent of net proceeds to the Crisis Text Line to support those in need.

“Crisis Text Line, a cause so close to my heart, has been a part of this partnership from the beginning,” the actress explained. “I love knowing that when everyone wears these pieces, they are also a part of something meaningful, that directly helps people who need it.” Fans can shop the Syd Jen and Syd Short, which supports the mental health crisis line, at AE.com.
Sweeney’s second American Eagle campaign comes after her first ad sparked controversy for boasting about her “great jeans,” playing on her good looks in August 2025 that some likened to white supremacy and eugenics.
American Eagle responded to the backlash that same month, writing via social media, “‘Sydney Sweeney Has Great Jeans’ is and always was about the jeans. Her jeans. Her story. We’ll continue to celebrate how everyone wears their AE jeans with confidence, their way. Great jeans look good on everyone.”
Sweeney later opened up about the campaign, telling GQ in November 2025, “I did a jean ad.”
“I mean, the reaction definitely was a surprise, but I love jeans,” she said at the time. “All I wear are jeans. I’m literally in jeans and a T-shirt every day of my life.”

CBS Considers Fire Country, Sheriff Country Medical Spinoff
CBS could be expanding the Fire Country and Sheriff Country TV universe with another spinoff show.
Multiple outlets reported that a third series in the franchise is in the very early stages of development. The untitled drama would be following a medical team in the town of Edgewater, California, according to Deadline. A possible character that would lead the show could be introduced in the upcoming second season of Sheriff Country.
It is unclear who would be writing the script for the pilot since the spinoff concept is so early in its conception. The possible offshoot would be executive produced by Sheriff Country showrunner Matt Lopez, Fire Country and Sheriff Country executive producers Max Thieriot, Joan Rater and Tony Phelan — as well as franchise executive producers Jerry Bruckheimer and KristieAnne Reed.
Fire Country, which premiered in 2022, follows inmate Bode (Thieriot) as he attempts to shorten his prison sentence by volunteering for the California Conservation Camp Program. By the third season, Bode is out of prison and determined to prove himself at Cal Fire.
The world of Edgewater, meanwhile, has continued to grow, with a Sheriff Country spinoff centered around Sharon’s (Diane Farr) sister Mickey (Morena Baccarin) and a possible second offshoot with Jared Padalecki‘s character, Camden Casey, which is still in consideration.
Thieriot, 37, who is an executive producer on Fire Country and Sheriff Country, revealed he always has new ideas on his mind.
“I know there’s a limit to the amount of Country [shows] we can have. I think there’s also a certain point where it’s, like, quality over quantity,” he explained to Us Weekly in April 2025. “So the most important thing is that we’re always nurturing Fire Country — and now Sheriff Country — and making sure that they are getting all the attention that they should be getting so that the audience gets what they deserve. That’s, to me, the most important thing. But outside of the Fire Country universe, my wheels are always turning — sometimes to a fault.”
Thieriot also teased whether Padalecki’s three-episode arc could lead to something more.
“Who knows where this character goes down the road? That’s all kind of just TBD. But in the meantime, we just wanted to create a really exciting and fun character arc for him on this show,” he explained. “We also wanted to introduce him as somebody who’s a part of this world but feels different than our world. Somebody who comes from a different part of the state — a different part of California — and somebody who has a totally different vibe.”
The actor previously hinted that he has plans for more possible projects within and without the franchise. “I think there’s still a lot of room to explore,” he teased to Us in May. “There’s more room to explore in Edgewater and outside of Edgewater.”
