The 15 Most Underrated Apple TV Shows, Ranked
With so many scripted television shows on the air, it may seem impossible for casual audiences to keep up with the mountain of series. Gone are the days of a handful of TV networks with a manageable quantity of scripted shows. Now, announcements of new streaming platforms keep coming out of the woodwork, and with them, a batch of new, intriguing scripted television shows. Understandably, many of these shows and, frankly, entire streaming platforms like Apple TV get lost in the noise.
Although a few of Apple TV’s shows are internationally beloved (say the treasured, critically acclaimed Ted Lasso, or even the comedy series Shrinking), many, often just as great, have fallen under the radar despite their great quality. This is unfortunate because Apple TV’s content development has been consistently stellar since its launch. With a collection that ranges from workplace comedies to horror, science fiction, and true crime dramas, these are Apple TV’s most underappreciated television shows.

‘Physical’ (2021–2023)
With Rose Byrne at its center, Annie Weisman‘s entertaining comedy TV show tackles themes of identity and self-discovery while illustrating the story of a woman struggling to find her place in the world. Sheila is a quietly unhappy homemaker who struggles with her marriage and lifelong battle with bulimia. When she stumbles upon the fascinating world of aerobics, Sheila reclaims her power and self-confidence.
This Apple TV dark comedy may not be fit for everyone’s liking. Still, Weisman’s underrated series offers viewers a believable, three-dimensional, layered protagonist (brought to life flawlessly by Byrne) that they may even relate to at some point. Part of what makes Physical a good show is the poignant messages it sends on the topics it deals with, particularly how it sheds light on the importance of embracing oneself.
14
‘The Reluctant Traveler’ (2023–Present)
For those who enjoy engaging documentaries or reality TV shows about exploring new cultures, The Reluctant Traveler is a great pick. The 2023 series centers around Levy’s journey as he visits different countries, meets different people, and enjoys some of the world’s most remarkable hotels.
The Reluctant Traveler is quite different from other reality series centering around celebrities, as it doesn’t solely focus on Levy’s experiences but also introduces interesting aspects of worldwide culture to viewers. Levy’s joy in the show as he travels around the globe and makes new connections is infectious, making the Apple TV series an enjoyable watch fit for those who like to explore new places without leaving the comfort of their homes.
13
‘Bad Monkey’ (2024–Present)
Following his success co-creating Ted Lasso and Shrinking for Apple TV, Bill Lawrence set his sights on adapting Carl Hiaasen‘s 2013 crime fiction novel Bad Monkey. When a severed arm is fished out by a tourist off the coast of the Florida Keys, a suspended police detective, Andrew Yancy, is pulled into a conspiracy and corruption scandal that covers both Florida and The Bahamas.
Joining Vince Vaughn as Andrew Yancy in Bad Monkey is an ensemble of actors, including Rob Delaney, John Ortiz, Jodie Turner-Smith, and L. Scott Caldwell. Like its streaming platform colleague, Slow Horses, Bad Monkey excels at using a comical lens to approach its often very serious material. During its ten-episode first season, Bad Monkey touches on spirituality, grief, gentrification, medical corruption, and more. Vince Vaughn leads the cast with a spectacular performance that plays to all of his many strengths. His performance as the loquacious, empathetic, and intelligent Yancy is the true standout of the series.
12
‘Big Door Prize’ (2023–2024)
“What if you could find out your life’s potential?” That premise drives the two seasons of Apple TV’s The Big Door Prize. Adapted by Schitt’s Creek writer David West Read from M.O Walsh‘s novel of the same name, the show follows the events that occur after a machine mysteriously arrives in a small town and begins revealing to the residents their “life potential.” It’s a high-minded concept that the show successfully grounds via its ensemble of relatable characters.
Led by Chris O’Dowd, The Big Door Prize examines themes of unfulfillment, grief, love, life paths not chosen, predestined futures, and more, admirably never shying away from attacking heady questions. To its credit, The Big Door Prize maintained a strong grasp on its emotionality while always centering its characters’ emotional growth. Sadly, it never found an audience, but it remains one of Apple TV’s most insightful efforts.
11
‘Black Bird’ (2022)
Taron Egerton and Paul Walter Hauser, along with Greg Kinnear, Sepideh Moafi, and Ray Liotta (in one of his final roles), combined their considerable efforts for Black Bird, Apple TV’s six-part true-crime limited series. Created by Dennis Lehane and based on the autobiographical novel by James Keen with Hillel Levin, Black Bird tells the true story of convict James Keene and how he gained the trust of convicted serial killer and rapist Larry Hall.
Black Bird is an excellent crime television show despite being criminally underseen by general audiences. Anchored by a charismatic, Emmy-nominated performance from Taron Egerton and a dark and disturbing Emmy-winning villain performance from Paul Walter Hauser, Black Bird is an excellent cat-and-mouse story that shows how truly depraved and evil humans can be.
10
‘Hijack’ (2023–Present)
Idris Elba‘s Hijack plays out in real time over its seven-episode run. Elba plays Sam, a business negotiator whose seven-hour flight from Dubai to London is hijacked by an unknown group of agitators. Lupin co-creators George Kay and Jim Field Smith are behind the show. Hijack is a tense, heart-racing thriller that keeps audiences on the edge of their seats for its entire run.
The story is simultaneously told via the events in the air and on the ground, with Sam attempting to de-escalate the hijacking as well as dissuade the government officials from shooting down the plane as it heads for the heart of central London. As the various players in the story are revealed, the full scope of the conspiracy is made clear, and various professional and personal stakes are put to the test. With an original approach to its classic genre, Hijack is a riveting thriller and a worthy showcase for Elba.
9
‘Mythic Quest’ (2020–2025)
Not satisfied with one beloved sitcom, Charlie Day and Rob McElhenney teamed up with It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia producer and writer Megan Ganz to create this video game studio set comedy. In Mythic Quest, McElhenney portrays Ian Grimm, the visionary creator of the titular Mythic Quest, a successful online role-playing game. For those who may not be familiar with the video game world, Mythic Quest offers a hilarious and insightful behind-the-scenes look into the industry.
Joining Ian (pronounced “Eye-In”) in the office sitcom structure are David (David Hornsby), the game’s executive director, Poppy Li (Charlotte Nicdao), its lead engineer, Brad Bakshi (Danny Pudi), head of monetization, C.W Longbottom (F. Murray Abraham), the game’s head writer, Jo (Jessie Ennis), David’s assistant and a couple of game testers played by Ashly Burch and Imani Hakim. Boasting a collection of excellent performances and some standout episodes, Mythic Quest appropriately balances its humor and emotions, delivering one of Apple TV’s most beloved series.
8
‘Servant’ (2019–2023)
Armed with an excitingly bonkers premise and with storied supernatural filmmaker M. Night Shyamalan serving as an executive producer and frequent director, Apple TV’s Servant is one of the platform’s most audacious offerings. Created by Tony Basgallop, the psychological horror show follows a grieving couple who hire a young nanny, Leanne Grayson, to care for their reborn doll, whom the mother believes is her still-alive son. As can be expected, Leanne’s sudden introduction to this environment leads to even stranger occurrences.
Despite receiving great praise from horror icons like Stephen King and Guillermo del Toro, Servant remained largely underappreciated during its four-season run. Along with excellent direction and a consistently eerie mood, Servant boasted noteworthy performances from its four leads: Toby Kebbell and Lauren Ambrose as the married couple, Sean and Dorothy Turner, Rupert Grint as Julian, Dorothy’s brother, and Nell Tiger Free as the young nanny thrust into this world. Eerie but refreshing, Servant is one-of-a-kind and one of Apple’s undersung crowning jewels.
7
‘Acapulco’ (2021–2025)
Cisneros, Shuman, and Winsberg‘s hilarious Acapulco depicts the dream of a young Mexican man (played by both Enrique Arrizon and Eugenio Derbez) coming true when he gets the job offer of a lifetime at a decades-old, well-respected, and preserved resort in Acapulco, which is located on a semicircular bay in Mexico. However, things get complicated when he soon realizes the job is far more troublesome than he ever anticipated.
The charming Acapulco remains one of Apple TV’s lesser-known shows and certainly deserves more love. Produced by the Emmy-winning Eugenio Derbez and featuring effective acting performances on top of an enthralling plot, this comedy series will have comedy fans hooked. It was inspired by the 21st-century Mexican film, How to Be a Latin Lover.
6
‘Schmigadoon!’ (2021–2023)
Perfect for those into the comedy, musical, and fantasy genres, this fun Ken Daurio and Cinco Paul Apple TV original follows a couple of doctors (played by the fantastic Keegan-Michael Key and Cecily Strong) who, while on a backpacking trip, unearth a magical town in which everyone acts like they’re in a classic musical and become trapped in the musical theater universe.
While critically acclaimed — Cinco Paul, for one, took home the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics for the song “Corn Puddin’” — Schmigadoon! is generally an overlooked series by the streaming platform and was, unfortunately, not renewed for a third season. Nonetheless, Daurio and Paul’s show is worth watching, especially if audiences are on the lookout for an entertaining and lighthearted viewing.

Maren Morris Reveals Taylor Swift Wedding Handkerchief
It turns out Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding was a fairy tale for all in attendance.
“Baby just say yes,” wedding guest Maren Morris wrote via Instagram on Saturday, July 4, quoting Swift’s song “Love Story,” while sharing a handful of pics from the white-veiled occasion.
Swift and Kelce, both 36, said “I do” on Friday, July 3, in a grand ceremony held inside New York City’s famed Madison Square Garden arena. Morris, 36, was among the star-studded attendees, alongside fellow country stars Kelsea Ballerini and Miranda Lambert.
In Morris’ social media recap of the event, she captured a snapshot of a white, lace handkerchief that was embroidered with the line “So it’s gonna be forever” from Swift’s “Blank Space,” which happens to be Kelce’s favorite track of his bride’s. The delicate linen also included the wedding date and city stitched into the fabric, in addition to the same ‘TT’ monogram intertwined by hearts that was seen on the rehearsal dinner gift boxes.
Morris has been close to Swift since 2018, even duetting on the song “You All Over Me.”
“I’ve never seen a crowd like that, and there’s not a crowd like hers,” Morris said on the Jennifer Hudson Show in May 2025, detailing what it was like sharing the stage with Swift on the Eras Tour in Chicago in 2023. “[Her fans are] so supportive. They’re listening to all the lyrics, they want to hear every nuance and breath between words. They’re truly locked in. It was a real treat to experience on that plane.”
Despite her close bond with Swift, Morris initially wasn’t convinced she’d make the cut for the Grammy winner’s wedding guest list.

“I got this, like, spam text a couple weeks ago. It was like, ‘You’re invited to Taylor and Travis’ wedding,” Morris quipped on the Morning Mash Up Show in May. “I was like, ‘I’m blocking this ‘cause there’s no way they would send an invitation through a text like this.’ What if I trashed [the actual one]? I was like, ‘How do they have my number? This is weird.’”
Luckily for Morris, the invitation was the real deal.
As the countdown to Swift and Kelce’s nuptials continued, Morris began pondering what to gift the couple for the occasion.
“What do you get as a gift for someone like that?” Craig Melvin jokingly asked Morris during an early Friday morning broadcast of Today. “Do you get a juicer [or an] air fryer?”
At the time, Morris played coy about her attendance.
“I don’t know, what do you get? That’d be a hard person to buy for,” she said, adding that she was just “so happy” for Swift and Kelce’s union. “She has such a close tie to New York. I’m so excited for them to celebrate their love.”

Dave Chappelle Was Shocked by Travis Kelce’s Bachelor Party
Comedian Dave Chappelle is breaking his silence on Travis Kelce choosing to attend one of his recent comedy shows as part of his bachelor party celebration.
“I was shocked, I had never seen anything like that. A whoreless bachelor party?” Chappelle, 52, recalled during a Zoom interview on CNN’s Independence Eve Live on Friday, July 3. “Whatever makes you happy, Travis.”
Travis, 36, was joined by his brother, Jason Kelce, and a gaggle of friends last month for a West Coast bachelor party. The group attended Chappelle’s show and multiple sporting events to celebrate Travis’ nuptials to pop star Taylor Swift.
Travis and Swift, 36, coincidentally said “I do” on Friday night, the same time of the CNN broadcast, inside New York City’s famed Madison Square Garden arena in front of a star-studded crowd of nearly 1,000 loved ones.
“I heard he was getting married at Madison Square Garden. You would think I could have got an invite, but I didn’t,” Chappelle quipped during the CNN broadcast. “I didn’t make the 15,000 closest friends.”
He then asked CNN hosts Andy Cohen and Anderson Cooper, who hosted their live special from blocks away from MSG in Times Square, whether they scored invitations to the wedding of the year.
“It looks like the three of us are the only three people [who didn’t go],” Cohen,58, jokingly replied on Friday. “The three of us are the only ones not invited.”

Cohen and Cooper, 59, were busy hosting their CNN broadcast on Friday night, while Chappelle called in from his stand-up show in California. At the same time, Swift and Travis celebrated their love story in front of a seemingly never-ending list of Hollywood A-list stars, including Bradley Cooper, Jessica Alba, Kelsea Ballerini, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid and Miranda Lambert.
“Well, I eloped,” Chappelle joked to the CNN cohosts, contrasting the size of his nuptials to Swift and Kelce’s big day. “Me and my wife went to Taco Bell after we got married in Vegas, like, ‘Well, it’s going to be a long life. Good luck to both of us!’”
Chappelle has been married to Elaine Mendoza Erfe, with whom he shares three children, since 2001.
“We don’t live in Hollywood,” the comedian previously revealed of their daily life out of the spotlight during a 2020 episode of My Next Guest Needs No Introduction With Dave Letterman. “There’s no paparazzi trying to get [our] picture. … I don’t think I ever leave my children’s presence without letting them know I love them ‘cause I never know what’s going to happen anyway.”

Taylor Swift’s Rare Quotes About Brother Austin Swift
Taylor Swift has a famously tight-knit bond with her younger brother, Austin Swift.
Taylor and Austin are the two children of Scott and Andrea Swift, all of whom have had the pop star’s back as she navigated both her highly accomplished music career and various personal relationships. The trio strongly embraced Taylor’s husband, NFL star Travis Kelce, before the couple’s July 2026 wedding at Madison Square Garden.
In fact, Austin even stood up beside his big sister during the ceremony in lieu of a traditional bridal party.
“Taylor and Travis did not have bridesmaids or groomsmen,” Taylor’s rep told Us Weekly in a statement at the time. “Instead, her brother, Austin Swift, served as Taylor’s Man of Honor and [Travis’ brother], Jason Kelce, was Travis’ Best Man. The ceremony joined both families together.”
Keep scrolling to revisit Taylor’s comments about her dynamic with Austin through the years:
Holiday Favorites
During a 2012 interview with Parade, Taylor detailed how she and Austin spent the festive holiday season.
“I have a 20-year-old brother, so I like to see the absurd ways that he wraps presents,” Taylor told the outlet of her favorite tradition. “It’s worse and worse every year. It’s, like, garbage bags with duct tape in cardboard boxes with a rope tied around it. It’s the most hilarious thing to me because he wraps presents [in] his own special way.”
From Siblings to Colleagues
As Taylor pursued a career in the music industry, her brother has been by her side.
“My dad, my mom, and my brother come up with some of the best ideas in my career,” she told TIME in December 2023. “I always joke that we’re a small family business.”
Two years later, Taylor sent Austin and their mother to negotiate with Shamrock Capital on her behalf about the chance to purchase the masters of her first six albums.
“Rather than send lawyers or management in a big crew, I sent my mom and my brother, who I work with, to L.A.,” the singer detailed on Travis’ “New Heights” podcast in August 2025. “They sat with Shamrock Capital and they told them what this meant for me. They told them the whole story of all the times we’ve tried to buy it, all the times it’s fallen through, all the times we had gotten plans together and figured out something we thought was going to work and it didn’t at the last minute.”
Andrea and Austin’s mission was successful, and Taylor was able to buy her discography in May 2025 with profits from her Eras Tour.
Childhood Squabbles
While Taylor and Austin are famously close as adults, that wasn’t always the case for the pair as children.
“We used to get in absolute battles. It was like psychological warfare every single day,” Taylor recalled on Sirius XM’s The Morning Mashup in October 2025. “I’d try to annoy him so much that he’d lash out and try to get him in trouble, it was a nightmare, but then he learned all the sounds that annoy me.”
She continued, “He learned that if you repeat everything I say back to me when I’m seven years old, that’s gonna bother me. Just the sibling stuff that everyone does. But it’s crazy, we work together now, and we’re best friends. I don’t know what year it happened, but we just looked at each other and went like, ‘Truce.’ Just know if you have kids and they’re at each other’s throats constantly, they’ll probably grow up to be best friends.”
Bonus: Musical Tributes
Taylor has even given Austin shout-outs in a handful of her songs.
“I have an excellent father/ His strength is making me stronger,” Swift begins a verse on “The Best Day,” which was released in 2008. “God smiles on my little brother / Inside and out he’s better than I am.”
Decades later, Austin was briefly mentioned on Taylor’s album The Life of a Showgirl.
“I had a bad habit / Of missing lovers past,” the Grammy winner sings on her “Opalite” track. “My brother used to call it / ‘Eating out of the trash’ / It’s never gonna last.”
“Opalite” ends with Taylor making her own happiness thanks to Travis and their love story.

Truth be told, I love traveling and I love weddings, so when I had a destination wedding on my calendar, I was pretty ecstatic. In addition to snapping up my bridesmaid’s dress, I also did a massive fashion haul, sourcing items that matched the lush, tropical vibe of Colombia. Let me tell you, I was not disappointed when I stumbled upon this surprisingly chic, tropical-inspired dress from Abercrombie & Fitch.
I initially spotted it in green, but was blown away after seeing the A&F maxi dress in a gorgeous exotic-looking pattern that’s made up of pinks, oranges, purples, blues and greens. The dress literally gives off tropical drink vibes in dress form, and I instantly had to have it. Due to the colorful hues, lightweight feel and flattering fit, I felt like an actual princess. The dress boosted my confidence the moment I slipped it on my body, and it just got better and better with every compliment I received.
I donned the maxi dress at the welcome party and got over 15 compliments (yes, I counted) from guests commenting on how pretty the dress is, and several even asked where I got it. Spoiler alert: The maxi is from Abercrombie, and it’s currently on sale this weekend!
Get the Giselle Hardware Flowy Maxi Dress for $90 (was $150) at Abercrombie & Fitch! Please note, prices are accurate as of the publishing date but are subject to change.
The Giselle Hardware Flowy Maxi Dress is the one dress you’ll want to have in your closet for destination weddings, fancy date nights and beyond. Honestly, I didn’t expect to garner such praise over a dress, but it just confirmed that I made the right choice in packing this little number in my suitcase.
In addition to the beautiful pink design, the dress stands out for its simple yet luxe-looking accents. The pleated ripple texture draws the eye in, especially when you walk. I also really like the gold U-ring decoration at the neckline that gives the dress a high-end appearance while also subtly showing a little extra skin.
The loose, trapeze silhouette may feel intimidating, but I promise that it’s actually a huge selling point. The unpredictable, tropical weather couldn’t hold a flame to this dress; the fit allowed air to breeze through and it lightly skimmed my body. I could walk, sit and dance without worry. Oh, and the bra-free design allowed me to forgo my usual strapless bra, and yet, I still felt covered and supported.
Despite the long maxi design, petite girls can also sport the dress! As someone who is 5’2″, I know the struggle of finding long dresses that don’t overwhelm my frame, but this one actually hits the sweet spot. It’s available in regular, tall and petite lengths, so naturally I chose the latter. And when I paired it with platform sandals, the dress looked like a true maxi, which rarely happens.
The fabric is just as lovely, providing a sheen appeal due to the satiny material. With all these factors, it’s no wonder several people who complimented the dress were shocked I got it at a mall brand.
If I could get the Giselle maxi dress again, I totally would. It’s breezy, stunning and compliment-worthy. And right now, you can get it on sale with an extra 20% off when you add it to your cart. Lucky you!

Claire Kittle Has Wardrobe Mishap Before Taylor Swift Wedding
Just before Claire Kittle attended Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s star-studded wedding, she faced an unexpected wardrobe malfunction.
“[Kristin Juszczyk] saved me again,” Kittle, 32, wrote via her Instagram Stories on Saturday, July 4, sharing a photo of the fashion designer, 32, stitching her blue gown ahead of the celebratory event.
Kittle and Juszczyk were among the celebrity guests at Swift and Kelce’s Friday, July 3, nuptials at the iconic Madison Square Garden in New York City. The two San Francisco 49ers wives attended the ceremony alongside their respective NFL husbands, George Kittle and Kyle Juszczyk.
Kristin donned a royal blue satin corset dress that flowed into a color-blocked black bubble skirt with a tangle of diamond necklaces, while Claire chose a pastel blue sheath with a bedazzled illusion neckline.
The zipper on Claire’s dress, however, hit a snag just moments before Swift and Kelce, both 36, were scheduled to walk down the aisle.
“Had to cut the lining in my dress,” Claire explained via her Stories. “The zipper was stuck.”
Kristin reposted Claire’s upload to her Stories, writing, “I was sewing all night” alongside a pair of laughing emojis.
Kristin, who founded the NFL-themed fashion label Off-Season, was quick to fix Claire’s dress in time for the ceremony, when — and while surrounded by approximately 1,000 guests — Swift and Kelce said “I do.”

“The bride and groom’s wedding ceremony looks have been created by Christian Dior Haute Couture. They are designed by Jonathan Anderson, Creative Director of Dior Women’s, Men’s and Haute Couture Collections, in close collaboration with the bride and groom,” a rep for Swift said via press release. “This is the designer’s first couture wedding dress for a world-renowned celebrity. [Both of] their shoes were custom made by Christian Louboutin and the bride wore Cartier jewelry.”
Swift’s spokesperson further revealed that the newlyweds opted against a traditional bridal party.
“Her brother, Austin Swift, served as Taylor’s Man of Honor and Jason Kelce was Travis’ Best Man,” the statement added. “The ceremony joined both families together and was officiated by friend Adam Sandler.”

Selena Gomez Glitters in Gold at Taylor Swift’s Wedding
Selena Gomez glittered in gold while attending her best friend Taylor Swift’s highly-anticipated and star-studded wedding to Travis Kelce.
Gomez, 33, stunned in a fitted, curve-hugging beaded Oscar de la Renta gown for the newlyweds’ Friday, July 3, wedding inside New York City’s famed Madison Square Garden arena. The Only Murders in the Building star completed her ensemble with a pair of diamond rings.
For glam, Gomez sported rosy eyeshadow and lipstick, which her hair was slicked back into an Old Hollywood-style bob.
Gomez watched Swift and Kelce, both 36, say “I do” beside her husband, music producer Benny Blanco, who looked dapper in classic tuxedo with a bowtie.
Blanco, 38, wore another tux for Swift and Kelce’s rehearsal dinner on Thursday, July 2, while Gomez chose a strapless Oscar de la Renta gown for the occasion. The singer paired her black frock with a pair of Jimmy Choo stilettos, Fernando Jorge earrings and a custom Grown Brilliance diamond ring.
Gomez has been close to Swift since 2008, when the pair first bonded during their respective teen relationships with brothers Nick Jonas and Joe Jonas. Swift even attended Gomez’s wedding to Blanco in September 2025, where she wore a gold Oscar de la Renta gown of her own.
For her big day on the eve of the country’s 250th birthday celebration, Swift opted for a bespoke Dior Couture gown.
“The bride and groom’s wedding ceremony looks have been created by Christian Dior Haute Couture. They are designed by Jonathan Anderson, Creative Director of Dior Women’s, Men’s and Haute Couture Collections, in close collaboration with the Bride and Groom,” a press release shared with Us Weekly read. “This is the designer’s first couture wedding dress for a world-renowned celebrity. Their shoes were custom made by Christian Louboutin and the bride wore Cartier jewelry.”
Swift and Kelce, 36, exchanged vows in front of upwards of 1,000 loved ones, including Gomez, Blanco, Bradley Cooper, Jessica Alba, George Kittle and Miranda Lambert.

This Electric Toothbrush Removed 15x More Plaque Than a Manual Brush
Us Weekly has affiliate partnerships. We receive compensation when you click on a link and make a purchase. Learn more!
If you’ve spent the last decade getting serious about what you eat, how you train, and which supplements actually have data behind them, there’s a piece of your daily routine that probably hasn’t kept up: the toothbrush in your bathroom. An electric toothbrush is one of the more well-studied upgrades you can make to a daily health habit — and the clinical data behind it is harder to ignore once you’ve seen it.
A 2025 YouGov survey found that 64% of Americans are still using a manual toothbrush. Only 31% have moved to powered. That’s a striking gap given what we now know about oral health. The case for upgrading to a quality electric toothbrush is stronger than ever, and ARU is making it with clinical data behind it.
What the Research Says About Manual Brushing
The case against manual brushing isn’t aesthetic, it’s mechanical. Four problems show up consistently:
- Manual brushes are less effective at removing plaque along the gumline and between teeth — the exact zones where gum disease starts.
- Most people brush too aggressively, which causes gum recession and enamel wear over time. Manual brushes don’t offer any feedback to stop you.
- The American Dental Association (ADA) recommends two minutes of brushing. Most people fall well short, and a manual brush has no way to tell you so.
- Manual brushing relies entirely on technique — angle, pressure, coverage, duration — which tends to be inconsistent brush to brush.
You can clean your teeth effectively with a manual brush. The point is that the best electric toothbrushes remove the guesswork, which matters when you’re optimizing for long-term oral health rather than just getting through the morning routine.
What’s Unique About ARU’s Electric Toothbrush
ARU is a sonic toothbrush built to deliver a clinical-grade clean without the gum trauma that often comes with manual brushing. The mechanism matters: sonic vibrations break up plaque along the gumline and between teeth — the regions where manual technique most reliably fails.
What the brush adds beyond mechanism: a two-minute timer with a 30-second quadrant pulse, three modes and three intensities, and the option to dial pressure down for sensitivity or up for a deeper clean. Pressure becomes a setting, not a guess.
As a rechargeable electric toothbrush, ARU runs for 45 days or more on a single charge and uses wireless charging when you do need to top it off. That’s a meaningful upgrade from brushes that need a weekly trip to the charging cradle.
The Clinical Trial Behind the ARU Toothbrush
A 28-day clinical trial conducted by Ashtel Studios split 62 participants between ARU and an ADA-accepted manual toothbrush, with both groups brushing twice daily for two minutes. The aru toothbrush outperformed manual across every measure.
- 15x more plaque removed than a manual toothbrush
- 9x more plaque removed in a single use
- 74% reduction in gum bleeding
- 46% improvement in overall gingival health
- 93% of gums classified as healthy after one month
- 140% improvement in plaque removal in hard-to-reach areas
- Safe for sensitive teeth and gums without irritation
A separate independent study of 140 participants over 35 days found that 91% of users would recommend ARU.
What’s in the ARU Toothbrush Starter Kit
The ARU Starter Kit ships with the sonic handle, one brush head, a wireless charging base, a USB cable with wall adapter, a magnetic mirror mount, a travel case and a travel handle protector. It’s a complete setup with nothing sold separately, which matters if you’ve ever bought an electric brush and discovered the travel case costs another $40.
Why ARU’s Toothbrush Heads Matter
The electric toothbrush heads are doing most of the actual cleaning, and ARU’s are designed differently than most. Ultra-soft tapered bristles clean along the gumline without abrading it, and they’re 20x slimmer than standard bristles, so they reach between teeth and below the gumline. A hexagonal bristle pattern improves coverage per stroke, and a metal-free core avoids the corrosion you’ll see with heads that use metal anchors over time.
ARU recommends swapping heads every three months, in line with ADA guidance. That matters because worn bristles clean less effectively and old heads accumulate bacteria. A refill subscription ships a new head every quarter at a 20% discount, plus a lifetime warranty on the handle.
The 7-Day Challenge Your Smile Has Been Waiting For
ARU’s 7-Day Challenge is a fair way to evaluate it: brush with ARU for a week, then on day 8, switch back to your old brush for one session. The contrast is the data point. Most people notice immediately — the smoothness of their teeth, the absence of low-grade gum sensitivity they’d accepted as baseline.
The 30-day money-back guarantee removes the financial argument against trying it. The clinical data removes the evidentiary one. What’s left is whether your oral care routine deserves the same scrutiny you’ve applied to the rest of your health.

Apple TV’s Forgotten 2-Part Mystery Is Quietly One of Its Most Binge-Worthy Shows
Apple TV has become one of the most impressive streamers, offering a slew of fantastic television shows. Its tentpole series, such as Severance and Ted Lasso, have inspired the biggest fan followings, but there are also the shows that tend to fly under the radar. Series like Bad Sisters and Pachinko are every bit as worthy of a binge-watch, even if they didn’t receive as much fanfare when they were airing. Alongside these high-quality titles is a mystery series that may not have drummed up a lot of buzz, but should be added to your must-watch list now.
What Is ‘Home Before Dark’ About?
Home Before Dark, executive produced by Wicked director Jon M. Chu, is a two-season drama that aired on Apple TV from 2020 to 2021. Over 20 episodes of twisty storytelling, the show follows a nine-year-old girl named Hilde Lisko (Brooklynn Prince) who moves from New York City to her father’s hometown of Erie Harbor, Washington. With her quirky, unique personality, Hilde struggles to fit in at school, while her older sister, Izzy (Kylie Rogers), seems much more likely to be accepted by the popular kids. Hilde is also seen as different from her classmates because she thinks of herself as a journalist, even at her young age, and tends to get in trouble for her inquisitive tendencies.

Plus, the pair open up about series star Brooklynn Prince’s talent and Chu details how this show let him go in some new creative directions.
Shortly after arriving in Erie Harbor, Hilde starts a self-published newspaper called The Magic Hour Chronicle. During her reporting, she stumbles upon a mystery that has haunted the town for decades. Hilde starts investigating the kidnapping of a young boy named Richie Fife, but quickly discovers that there’s a mysterious cover-up connected to his disappearance. In Season 2, even more of the sinister cover-up is exposed, and Hilde makes some powerful enemies. Each episode is full of complex puzzles that unfold as Hilde investigates the mystery further.
‘Home Before Dark’ Will Draw You In With Its Intriguing Mystery
One of the great things about Home Before Dark is that it’s family-friendly, since its protagonist is a young girl, but the series is just as watchable for adults. The storytelling is suspenseful, and Hilde’s storyline doesn’t feel schmaltzy or too juvenile. Instead, the show captures the pangs of growing as well as the beauty of searching for truth and justice. Hilde’s journey is inspiring because she doesn’t let her age or any obstacles stand in the way of her goal. Home Before Dark‘s mystical cinematography and setting are another reason to watch, with the town’s eerie fog acting as a haunting veil that further masks its darkest secrets.
Home Before Dark could have run the risk of feeling unsophisticated, but by casting Prince in the lead, the series morphs into a moving, deeply emotional story. Prince was first discovered in her breakout role as a small child in The Florida Project, and she continues to show her range and immense gifts here. Jibrail Nantambu and Deric McCabe play fantastic sidekicks to Hilde, without being cloying or silly. The adult actors also serve as grounding presences; Jim Sturgess, who plays Hilde’s supportive father, and Joelle Carter, as Hilde’s embattled school principal, are particularly compelling.
Home Before Dark was never officially cancelled, but no new episodes were ordered after Season 2 was completed. Much of the reason it flew under the radar is likely because it aired right in the middle of the pandemic, which also briefly halted the production of the second season. There might be flashier shows on Apple TV to binge, but this drama is quietly unique, with an eerie setting and a mix of thrilling mysteries and heartwarming coming-of-age themes.

Apple TV Made Sci-Fi Essential Again With This 3-Part Modern Masterpiece
Apple TV has stumbled into some massive success stories in the sci-fi genre in recent years, but the show that topped all others was Pluribus. Hailing from iconic TV scribe Vince Gilligan, famed for his work penning Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, Pluribus shattered records on its way to becoming the most-watched Apple TV sci-fi show of all time. Apple TV also has another sci-fi thriller dominating streaming right now in Silo, the dystopian series led by Rebecca Ferguson returning for its third season. Fans have little to worry about regarding the future of Silo, too, as the show has not only been picked up for Season 4, but the fourth and final season was shot back-to-back with the third. This should eliminate another two-year gap between seasons, all but assuring that Silo Season 4 will air in 2027.
To reach the pinnacle of Apple TV sci-fi streaming greatness, Pluribus had to pass Severance, the platform’s original sci-fi crown jewel. The first season of Severance dropped all the way back in 2022, but due to COVID-19 restrictions and the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, it took over three full years for Severance to come back for Season 2. The show has been officially picked up for Season 3 — Apple TV made the announcement on the same day as the Season 2 finale — but it’s still unclear when it will return to streaming. Before its return, the show holds its status as one of the top 10 most-watched series’ on Apple TV, currently sitting at #8 on watchlists at the time of writing. The series was written and created for TV by Dan Erickson and directed by Ben Stiller.
When Does ‘Severance’ Season 3 Start Filming?
Production on Severance Season 3 is expected to begin any day now, but the show takes a long time to film, so it could easily be shooting through the end of this year. Around the time that Severance was renewed for Season 3, Ben Stiller promised that the wait would be less than that of Season 2. Leading star Adam Scott recently softened his stance on this, saying that everyone involved in making Severance would rather take longer to deliver a final product worth its name than rush into it and fall short of high expectations.
Check out the first two seasons of Severance on Apple TV and stay tuned to Collider for more updates and coverage of Season 3.

Jessica Alba, Danny Ramirez Show PDA at Swift, Kelce Wedding
Jessica Alba and boyfriend Danny Ramirez were feeling the love while attending Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s star-studded wedding at Madison Square Garden.
“We love love,” Alba, 45, captioned a post shared via Instagram on Saturday, July 4, showcasing some behind-the-scenes moments featuring the actress preparing for the singer and NFL star’s Friday, July 3, nuptials at the iconic New York City venue.
“Congrats to T&T — such a beautiful night celebrating you,” Alba continued.
In the post, Alba shared a before-and-after video featuring the couple preparing for the wedding festivities. Initially, the camera showed alba in an oversized zip-up hoodie, wearing a towel around her head and under-eye treatment masks as her boyfriend, 33, stands behind her in a t-shirt, giving her a kiss.
The camera pans down, then pans back up to reveal the couple’s wedding attire. The video continues to show Ramirez kissing Alba, first on the cheek before the pair keep kissing until they finally kiss on the lips.

Alba shared additional photos showing her show-stopping look, which featured a black, plunging top and a golden sequenced bottom. Ramirez, for his part, looked dapper in a quintessential black-and-white tax featuring a black tie.
Us Weekly exclusively confirmed back in July 2025 that Alba and Ramirez were dating amid her divorce from Cash Warren.
“They were friends before it turned romantic,” the insider shared at the time, adding that the Marvel actor and Alba have “a lot of mutual friends,” including the Honest Company cofounder’s longtime best friend Eva Longoria.
“Jessica is still keeping things casual,” the source added at the time.
After a trip to Cancun, Mexico, the pair were spotted boarding a flight home to Los Angeles in July 2025 wearing baseball caps and sunglasses.
“She is having a lot of fun in this new era. It’s not serious, but she is enjoying time with him,” the source continued to Us at the time, adding that the Honey star wasn’t “interested” in introducing her and Warren’s three children — Honor, Haven and Hayes — to Ramirez at the time.
Swift and Kelce, for their part, officially became husband and wife on Friday after exchanging vows in front of a reported 1,000 of their closest friends and family members.
“The bride and groom’s wedding ceremony looks have been created by Christian Dior Huate Coutour,” a press released shared by Swift’s rep shortly after the pair wed revealed. “They are designed by Jonathan Anderson, Creative Director of Dior’s Women’s, Men’s and Haute Coutoure Collections, in close collaboration with the Bride and Groom. This is the designer’s fist couture wedding dress for a world-renowned celebrity. Their shoes were custom made by Christian Louboutin and the bride wore Cartier jewelry.”
The release continued, “Taylor and Travis did not have bridesmaids or groomsmen. Instead, her brother Austin Swift served as Taylor’s Man of Honor and Jason Kelce was Travis’ Best Man. The ceremony joined both families together and was officiated by friend Adam Sandler.”
