The Best Horror Movie of Each of the Last 6 Years
There has been a unique phenomenon in the horror genre in the 2020s that the industry has not seen since the ‘70s. Although horror films have always been reliable investments for studios because of their low cost and passionate fanbases, the genre has become even more popular in recent years with a series of massive financial hits and critically acclaimed works. Many of the top directors working today that can sell a film based purely on their name being involved seem to work exclusively in the horror genre, such as Jordan Peele, Ari Aster, Robert Eggers, and Zach Creggar. There’s also been franchises that have retained their popularity, as Scream and The Conjuring have proven to be generational hits that have developed multiple generations of fans.
Horror has always been “respectable,” but the empty criticism that some pundits had for the genre has begun to erode due to the undeniable artistic value. It’s not only a route for independent filmmakers to make a name for themselves and actually get a platform, but an option that can take multiple forms and see the production of completely original ideas that do not require a connection to an existing property or story. The Academy Awards have even turned around when it comes to the genre, with recent major wins going to films like The Substance and Get Out. Based on the exciting route that horror seems to be going, fans of the genre can expect to find a lot more gems within the coming years.

‘Titane’ (2021)
Titane is a bizarre and totally original work of body horror that could only have come from a singular mind like Julia Ducournau, whose startling vision for a serial killer story needs to be seen to be believed. Titane made history by winning the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival, a monumental prize that had never previously been given to a film made by a female filmmaker. Past Palme d’Or winners tend to be films that it is impossible to imagine anyone else making, and there’s certainly no one but Ducournau who could have conceived of such a creative blend of sexuality and violence.
Titane features a breakthrough performance from Agathe Rousselle and impeccable technical crafts, creating a unique commentary on fluctuating sexuality and the unspoken laws of attraction. Although there is a line of inspiration that can be traced back to the cinema of David Cronenberg, Titane is so sincerely audacious and uncompromising that it never feels as if Ducournau is fishing for ideas that she has not conceptualized.

‘Nope’ (2022)
Nope is an ambitious and thought-provoking work of science fiction spectacle that strikes a very different tone compared to Peele’s previous films, even if there are some thematic parallels that can be drawn. Although Nope serves as an homage to classic sci-fi cinema, it’s also a film about the audience’s relationship with spectacle itself; Peele questions how a search for answers and seeing patterns within randomized events can spark the seeds of ambition, both for ill and poor. Nope deals with the history of television with several self-aware moments that acknowledge Peele’s own background in short-form comedy, but it’s also a sincere and loving tribute to artistry that reasserts the importance of cinemagoing as a communal experience.
It’s not hard to see why Peele is frequently compared to Steven Spielberg because of his ability to craft instantly iconic images, with the main spacecraft in Nope being one of his most memorable. Although it is easy to go down the rabbit hole analyzing the subtext of the film’s recurring motifs, Nope is also a highly entertaining summer blockbuster with a trio of charismatic performances from Keke Palmer, Daniel Kaluuya, and Steven Yeun.

‘Talk to Me’ (2023)
Talk to Me is a remarkably confident directorial debut for YouTube creators Danny and Michael Philippou, who wound up sincere emotional distress within a brilliant concept reminiscent of a classic episode of The Twilight Zone. Talk to Me is as much about society’s obsession with death as it is the unhealthy fixation on grief that can transform rational people into addicts who crave danger in order to escape feelings of unattachment, and it has the type of premise that makes for ample discussion in regards to how viewers would react if placed within the same scenario as the characters. The Philippou brothers were smart in making a first feature that looks and feels much bigger than it actually is; just enough is left to the imagination for true nightmares to emerge.
Talk to Me certainly benefits from having younger filmmakers who understand the conversational way that teenagers and young people talk to one another, but the film’s unassailable story is unlikely to age because it centers on ideas that would be relevant within any period of time. It’s a film that allows the audience to see themselves in the characters without using transparent protagonists, as Sophie Wilde’s unforgettable performance is expressive and emotional in a way that makes the script even more profound than it may have been on the page.

‘Heretic’ (2024)
Heretic marks another great villainous role for Hugh Grant, who has gone through a radical and exciting career transformation from being a charismatic heartthrob to a sinister character actor capable of playing all different types of antagonists. Grant had kicked off his career as a rom-com star who could make films that were equally silly and sincere, and Heretic is an extension of that duality because it is both genuinely terrifying and frequently hilarious. Grant plays an extreme academic obsessed with debating religious advocates, leading him to deceive two young Mormon missionaries (Sophie Thatcher and Chloe East) into his home as part of an elaborate trap. Although he puts them through a rigorous test that raises compelling points about the fundamentals of belief, it also includes a good deal of blueberry pie and some very unusual Star Wars references.
Heretic cuts through its discussion about religion to become an even more foundational exploration of the desire to be “right,” and how arguments can turn even the most good-natured debates into a matter of will. Although Grant’s star power adds a quirky atmosphere to Heretic, the brilliance of the film lies in its script.

‘Weapons’ (2025)
Weapons is an instant classic that weaves a complex web of competing, frustrated characters into a societal study about the responses to grief. Inspired by Creggar’s own feelings of loss, Weapons questions what people will do while under strain by compartmentalizing and contextualizing fueled interactions that are much more complicated than they first appear. Although this emphatic empathy can provide more sympathy to a scapegoated schoolteacher (Julia Garner) and a conspiracy-ridden single father (Josh Brolin), it also unveils a crisis in plain sight that has turned victims into shadows of their former selves.
Weapons is strung together by an incredible performance by Amy Madigan, which earned one of Hollywood’s most consistently underrated actresses a well-deserved Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. There aren’t many horror villains who have immediately launched themselves into the pop culture lexicon in the same way that Aunt Gladys has, especially since Weapons is aware of its own absurdity and willing to include deliberate moments of humor in order to cut the tension with a knife. What’s most refreshing about Weapons isn’t just that it is a modern film that proves itself capable of examining modern issues, but one that makes no apologies for being an unabashed work of horror that doesn’t feel the need to “elevate” itself. There’s subtext and interpretation that can be found within the knotty sociopolitical commentary that is woven throughout, but Weapons is also a joyous experience to watch because of the snappy manner in which it unfolds.

‘Obsession’ (2026)
Obsession is a phenomenon unlike anything that horror has ever seen before, as a micro-budget indie film that debuted at the “Midnight Madness” section of the Toronto International Film Festival somehow became a word-of-mouth sensation that grossed over $500 million and became an instant award season contender. The fact that Obsession has immediately inspired so many parodies and references is indication that Curry Barker tapped into something special with his twisted story of a wish-gone-awry and a toxic one-sided relationship. There’s just enough explanation given to take the concept to its most frightening extremes, and Barker is so comfortable in creating authentic moments of characterization that Obsession feels like a film made by a much more seasoned filmmaker.
The key to the success of Obsession is a generational performance by Inde Navarette that is expressive, tragic, and darkly funny in a way that makes the entire debate about the film’s depiction of gender roles even more loaded. There are some gnarly and depraved moments of graphic horror that turn Obsession much more upsetting when it reaches its final act, but the appeal of Nikki as a character is due the magic trick that Navarette pulls of with a performance that will be remembered for years to come.

Adam22 ruffled some feathers online following his latest sit-down interview with media personality Jason Lee. During their conversation, the two discussed Blueface’s relationships and how things have unfolded co-parenting-wise with Nevaeh Akira following his past with Chrisean Rock
Adam22 said he felt the situation had already reached a low point before making claims about Chrisean and her son.
“I really didn’t think it could get any worse than Chrisean having a baby that is obviously the product of fetal alcohol syndrome…I believe Chrisean should be in prison,” Adam said.
When Jason Lee asked why, Adam22 continued criticizing Chrisean while discussing her alleged behavior during pregnancy. He also called her “the lowest of the low scum of the earth when it comes to this culture.” His comments quickly sparked conversation online, with Chrisean eventually stepping in to shut down the claims.

Chrisean Rock Shuts Down Claims About Her Son & Calls Out Adam22 And Blueface
As Adam22’s comments about Chrisean Jesus allegedly having fetal alcohol syndrome made their way around the internet, Chrisean quickly responded. During her Kick stream, she shut down the claims surrounding her son’s health and development.
“My son is not diagnosed with FAS, chat. If my son was diagnosed with FAS, CPS would have took my kid and I would have been had to be on a CPS plan to get my kid back. The state of Maryland do not allow you to go home if you cause certain things to your kid. It is crazy because people are trying to say certain things, so I’ll be, like, forced to tell y’all my son’s business. Like, no, I don’t say anything about what’s actually happening to my kid because I don’t. I protect his business. Yeah, he’s not diagnosed with FAS,” she said.
She went on to express that she feels people have become too comfortable speaking about her son and his development. Chrisean added that she is waiting on God to have the final say regarding her baby boy. She also spoke about how well Chrisean Jesus’ developmental journey is going and her hopes for him moving forward.
Chrisean then sent Adam22 a direct message, saying she feels he has fallen off from where he once was.
“Adam22, people used to really love you back in the day. You fell off, brother. You didn’t fall back, you fell off,” she said.
She also called him desperate and said she prays for him because she feels he will say anything for money, clips, or views. Furthermore, the social media personality then turned her attention to Blueface, saying she feels the situation starts with him, as Chrisean Jesus’ father, mentioning possibly putting Blueface on child support or taking legal action over things she says he has done online involving her and their son.
“I don’t even care about what Adam22 say. They keep playing with my name, keep disrespecting my son. I’m gonna go to the source,” she said.
She said Blueface has contributed to the conversation surrounding her and their son by co-signing comments made about them online. Furthermore, Chrisean added that she had been minding her business, but feels there comes a point where certain situations have to stop.
“You keep smearing my name, and his father added to all of this, for real. Co-sign all these things that people are saying about me and my kids… I’d rather go to the source, and it’s his dad, for real. I ain’t start having CPS situations till he post my son on hernia,” she said.
Adam22 Clarifies His Comments About Chrisean Jesus As Terrine Malone Steps In To Defend Her Nephew
Adam22 later responded to the backlash surrounding his comments, addressing Chrisean’s supporters while continuing to criticize her.
“Hey, shout out to all the Chrisean Rock superfans out there defending this piece of sh**. I feel so free because I’ve spoken about what a piece of sh** this girl is so many times. I’ve been totally honest with the world about the fact that I think what she did to that baby is abhorrent, and I did say allegedly,” he said.
He then clarified that he could not personally confirm whether Chrisean Jesus has fetal alcohol syndrome.
“Does the baby actually have fetal alcohol syndrome? I don’t exactly know. All I’m saying is that I saw clips of Chrisean drinking and smoking and treating her body like a local pool hall throughout the duration of that baby’s incubation,” he added.
He claimed he previously saw clips of Chrisean drinking and smoking during her pregnancy, describing the alleged behavior as “disgusting.” Adam22 compared the situation to his wife’s pregnancy, explaining that she changed certain habits because she was concerned about their baby.
He then accused Chrisean of continuing to drink and smoke while pregnant, questioning why supporters criticized him for addressing the allegations. Adam22 also criticized people he believes defend Chrisean before inviting her to join him on stream and discuss things directly.
At that point, Chrisean’s sister, Terrine, entered the chat to defend her nephew against Adam22’s claims surrounding his health and development. She made it clear that Chrisean Jesus has developmental delays and pushed back on people connecting them directly to alcohol.
“Alcohol has nothing to do with it. Just like a parent that doesn’t drink and their child may have some developmental delay. Something mentally, or any type of disability. You can’t blame it on alcohol. You can’t blame it on drugs because that parent didn’t do it,” she said.
She also addressed the clips people claim they saw of Chrisean during her pregnancy while pointing out that Adam22 was not there.
“Y’all saying y’all see her doing it… Either way, medical, they said that’s about it. That’s about the case. He wasn’t there. He don’t know. He don’t go to the baby doctor’s appointments. He don’t know,” she added.
Terrine continued calling out Adam22, accusing him of using conversations about Chrisean and her nephew as clickbait. She said that she feels Blueface gave Adam22 the green light to speak on Chrisean so he would not face her backlash himself.
Chrisean Celebrates New Milestones In Her Son’s Therapy Journey
Amid all the chatter and opinions surrounding Chrisean’s baby boy’s development, she has continued to celebrate milestones throughout his journey. On Monday, Chrisean became emotional while watching Chrisean Jesus push through a therapy session as he worked toward taking steps.
She could be seen supporting him throughout the session while encouraging him to keep going as he worked with his therapist. Then on Thursday, she encouraged her baby boy to stand by using supportive words, Bluey bubbles, and his favorite red ball.
Chrisean continued finding different ways to keep him engaged while celebrating each effort he made toward reaching another developmental milestone.

A woman has filed a lawsuit against Cornell University and seven Chi Pi Fraternity members. The lawsuit stems from gang rape allegations made by the former student in 2024.

Woman Files Lawsuit Against Cornell University And 7 Chi Pi Fraternity Members
A woman filed a lawsuit against seven Chi Pi Fraternity members at Cornell University, according to CBS News. Furthermore, the former student is also suing the school. The lawsuit stems from the woman’s 2024 claim that she was gang raped by the frat members at the Ithaca, New York university.
The lawsuit was filed in the New York Supreme Court on Wednesday, September 16, per WMBG. The complaint lists the Chi Phi fraternity and the seven members accused, Cornell University, Delta Delta Delta Sorority, and Alpha Beta House Corporation. In addition, an Ithaca nightclub was also named in the lawsuit, which claims the defendants failed to protect her and prevent the alleged rape.
What Are The Claims?
The rape reportedly happened on October 19, 2024. The Alpha Beta Chapter sorority reportedly hosted an event nightclub in Ithaca. The former student claimed that she consumed alcohol while at the sorority house before taking an Uber to the nightclub. She also went to another bar with a sorority member.
The woman said she later went to the Chi Phi National’s Xi Chapter fraternity house at 103 Edgemoor Lane to hang out with a friend and was visibly intoxicated. The friend is one of the men listed in the lawsuit, per WBNG. The plaintiff claims that two frat members pressured her into snorting a substance that they said was ketamine. Afterward, she said the two frat members raped her.
In addition, one man allegedly sent a Snapchat to “Chi Phi Actives.” The message said that there was “free p*ssy” upstairs in the frat house, and more men assaulted the woman. The plaintiff claimed that she was raped for several hours. Not only that, but she said she was left in the frat house unconscious until approximately 5:45 a.m.
After waking up the next morning and going home to her sorority house, she reportedly found bruising and began to remember what happened to her. On November 8, 2024, she reported the assault to the Cornell University Police after her friends encouraged her to do so.
The woman’s lawyer, Thomas Giuffra, said that only two of the accused rapists were expelled from Cornell University. Furthermore, the other men only received suspensions, workshops or had to write essays.
“Not one of these guys was arrested,” said Giuffra, per CBS New York. “Not one. That I can tell you for a fact…. There were so many people that could have prevented it and they didn’t…. I’ve never seen anything like it.”
The woman dropped out of Cornell following the assault. Tompkins County District Attorney Matthew Van Houten said that there was not enough evidence for criminal charges.
Cornell University Issues A Statement
Cornell University released a statement on Monday, September 21 that claims the frat is banned from campus.
“The Cornell Office of Civil Rights and the Office of Student Conduct and Community Standards investigated and adjudicated the allegations consistent with university policies,” reads the statement. “The Xi chapter of Chi Phi fraternity remains barred from our campus. Federal privacy law prohibits Cornell from disclosing specific information regarding individual students and we therefore are unable to make a public statement on any other disciplinary response. Violations of university policies could lead to sanctions up to and including suspension or expulsion. We will respond in detail through the legal process. ”
The statement also said that the school’s launched a Presidential Task Force on Campus Sexual Assault following the incident.
“Anyone who has experienced or is aware of sexual misconduct on our campus can report it to the Cornell Office of Civil Rights via their online reporting tool. The university also offers a number of confidential resources to individuals looking for confidential support.”
The woman is asking for compensation from Cornell University, the seven frat members, and others in the complaint. In addition, the complaint asks for punitive damages to discourage similar incidents.

The baddest women on streaming are leading Prime Video‘s fan-favorite detective thrillers. Before the Reacher spin-off Neagley took the world by storm, however, there was the Bosch spin-off Ballard. Admittedly, Frances Neagley (Maria Sten) shares a lot in common with Renée Ballard (Maggie Q). They’re both smart, headstrong, and come from decorated backgrounds, with Neagley as a former U.S. Army Master Sergeant and Ballard trained in the Los Angeles Police Department.
However, while Ballard has the same action-driven thrills as Neagley, the series also exposes the painful side of working in a department that’s notoriously male-dominated. Female detectives like Ballard have to work twice as hard to be taken seriously by the force, all while trying to prevent crimes. She can do everything by the book, but when the system fails her, she takes justice into her own hands.
What Is ‘Ballard’ About?
Ballard follows Detective Renée Ballard, who has been pushed out of the Robbery-Homicide Division and demoted to the Cold Case Unit after standing up to a male colleague. Forced to start from scratch, Ballard builds a new team that includes a retired detective, a former LAPD officer, an intern, and volunteers. Investigating cases everyone else has forgotten comes with particular challenges — but the deeper Ballard digs, the clearer it becomes that one of these cold cases could put her directly at odds with the force.
Previously, Ballard briefly appeared in the Season 3 finale of Bosch: Legacy when she approached Harry Bosch (Titus Welliver) to question him about the “Flower Girl” murder case files. Bosch is initially hesitant to get involved because of his bitter relationship with the LAPD, but after seeing Ballard’s true intentions, Bosch accompanies Ballard on her case. Fortunately, new viewers don’t need to watch Bosch or Bosch: Legacy to check out Ballard. The spin-off does an incredible job of telling its own story, allowing Ballard to stand out as a lead protagonist without relying on Bosch as a crutch.
‘Ballard’ Proves Cold Cases Are Just as Thrilling
From the beginning, Ballard emphasizes just how punishing it can be to work on cold cases. In television procedurals, cold cases are often derided, with most untouched for years, meaning physical evidence is difficult to recover, and surviving witnesses can be nearly impossible to find. But Ballard is a slow burn that pays off, with the lead character and her team scouring records and double-checking existing evidence. With the help of current technology and even a little assistance from Bosch himself, these seemingly impossible cases get a new shot at being solved.
Cold cases are often overlooked by police departments because they’re considered a waste of time and resources. In fact, the only case that Ballard’s encouraged to pursue is connected to a councilman, signaling that these investigations are ranked based on importance when all the victims deserve the same level of justice. Ballard does a great job of showing that no case should be ignored because sometimes, cracking one can lead to an even more shocking discovery.
‘Ballard’ Gets Real About Tough Issues
The common thread between Neagley and Ballard is how the two shows explore trauma. Neagley’s haphephobia, which stems from a childhood incident, affects her ability to form emotional connections. Meanwhile, Ballard’s trauma is directly tied to her profession. As a woman in the police force, she deals with male colleagues who undermine her authority, challenge her decisions, and disregard her boundaries. More painful is that people she thought would have her back remain silent, choosing to protect their jobs instead.
Because of their trauma, Neagley and Ballard have difficulty forming relationships. When Neagley decides to investigate the death of her best friend, which was ruled a suicide, people think she’s avoiding her loneliness by revisiting the past. As for Ballard, she refuses to talk about her past until she realizes that the way to get through it is to confront it. By opening up, she begins to heal, even as she harbors an impulse to tear down those who hurt her. Both Neagley and Ballard understand that being tough doesn’t mean being unaffected by trauma, and that healing looks different for everyone. The action is undeniable, but the specific nuances of their characters are something Reacher or Bosch couldn’t recreate.

Who Was Aileen Wuornos’ Partner Tyria Moore?
Moore was raised by a middle-class family in Cadiz, Ohio, according to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. Not much is known about her life prior to meeting Wuornos, though she was living with friends at the time they met.
Moore was working as a motel maid in Florida when she met Wuornos in 1986, according to Joseph Reynolds’ book Dead Ends. Wuornos was 30 at the time, while Moore was in her mid-20s.
How Did Aileen Wuornos and Tyria Moore Meet?
The couple first met at the gay bar Zodiac in South Daytona, Florida, in 1986.
Wuornos had moved from Michigan to Florida when she married a man who was 50 years older than her, according to the Los Angeles Times. The killer’s marriage had been annulled one month after their wedding and she was working as a sex worker at the time she met Moore. The two quickly hit it off and they moved in together not long after they met.
Not much is known about their relationship, but Moore told police, “We became lovers, and it later turned into a sister-like relationship,” per South Florida Sun-Sentinel.
However, Wuornos called Moore the “love of her life,” according to the Los Angeles Times.
It’s been revealed that the couple struggled with finances during their relationship. After they met, Moore quit her job as a motel maid and Wuornos supported them with her earnings as a sex worker. As a result, they were forced to move from town to town while Wuornos struggled to provide for them both.
“The only reason I hustled so hard all those years was to support her,” Wuornos told police of Moore, according to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. “I did what I had to do to pay the bills, because I didn’t have another choice: I’d got warrants out for my arrest.”
She added that she “wasn’t supporting her as richly as [Moore] wanted.”
“She always wanted a brand-new car or a rented one. She wanted clothes, she wanted an apartment with plush furniture. ‘I’ve got to have my things,’ she would say,” Wuornos said. “I brought home about $300 every two weeks, but it wears you out, constantly talking to all those men, staying up.”
What Crimes Did Aileen Wuornos Commit?
Wuornos and Moore were already in a relationship when she committed her first known murder in November 1989.
Shortly after Wuornos killed her first victim, Richard Mallory, she allegedly confided in Moore about the murder, according to the Los Angeles Times. Following the admission, Moore claimed she refused to discuss the topic.
Wuornos went on to kill six more of her alleged clients, including David Spears, Charles Carskaddon, Peter Siems, Troy Burress, Charles Richard “Dick” Humphreys and Walter Jeno Antonio. She claimed that she killed all of them in self-defense after they allegedly raped or attacked her.
Moore reportedly began to get suspicious as the killings continued, and she broke up with Wuornos.
Police Asked Tyria Moore to Get Aileen Wuornos to Confess
Authorities began to suspect Wuornos of the killings in late 1990, and they tracked down Moore to help convince her to confess.
Despite being romantically involved with Wuornos, Moore has denied having any involvement in the crimes and was never charged in connection to the murders.
Moore eventually became the key witness in Wuornos’ 1992 trial over the murder of Mallory. She testified about the night that Wuornos came home from her first murder and admitted to the crime.
“I didn’t believe it,” Moore said on the stand, according to United Press International. “I know I didn’t like to hear about her work (prostitution). So I’m sure I didn’t want to hear something like that.”
On January 31, 1992, Wuornos was sentenced to death after she was convicted for the first-degree murder of Mallory. The following year, she pleaded no contest and guilty to the other murders she committed. Wuornos received her sixth and final death sentence in February 1993.
While she admitted to killing Siems, Wuornos was not charged for his murder because his body was never found.
Wuornos was ultimately executed on October 9, 2022.
Where Is Tyria Moore Today?
Moore has largely stayed out of the public eye following Wuornos’ trial, and not much is known about where she is today.
Jay-Z‘s sexual assault accuser officially recanted her claim in a federal court in New York on Thursday, September 24. Subsequently, the music mogul voluntarily dropped the accuser, who is only known publicly as Jane Doe, from the malicious-prosecution lawsuit filed against her former attorney, Tony Buzbee.

Jay-Z Accuser Recants Sexual Assault Claim
The woman who accused Jay-Z of sexual assault officially recanted her claim in a federal court on Thursday, September 24, in New York City, according to the Rolling Stone. Subsequently, Jay-Z voluntarily dropped the accuser from the malicious-prosecution lawsuit he filed against her former attorney, Texas-based lawyer Tony Buzbee.
“Shawn ‘Jay-Z’ Carter never raped me,” wrote Jane Doe. “I have never met or spoken to Mr. Carter. Mr. Carter never engaged in any inappropriate conduct toward me whatsoever.”
Furthermore, she wrote that there was “no truth” to her previous accusations against Jay-Z.
“There is no truth to any of my claims against Mr. Carter,” she added. “I understand my false accusations have caused Mr. Carter immense pain, suffering, and damage that can never be fully undone.”
In addition to the statement from Jane Doe, her new malicious prosecution case-attorney, James Blair Newman, Jr., issued a statement.
“Our client maintains that she was a victim of sexual assault,” wrote Newman. “But she was entirely mistaken in her allegations identifying Mr. Carter, and those allegations were false. Mr. Carter did not rape her, sexually assault her, engage in any inappropriate conduct towards her, and she has never met him. She sincerely and unconditionally apologizes to Mr. Carter and his family.”
In addition, Jane Doe claimed that she was not promised and hasn’t received compensation for recanting the claim. Buzbee, in response, claims that his firm investigated her allegations and that she knew of the legal filings.
“We have multiple lawyers (at least four) who dealt with Ms. Doe long before she met me. She gave the exact same story to each. If for some reason now she is claiming she lied to us and the court, that’s new information,” he wrote.
What Were The Accusations?
The Shade Room previously reported that Jane Doe accused Jay-Z and Diddy of taking turns raping her at a party back in 2000 when she was 13. She claimed it happened following the MTV Video Music Awards in New York City. Jane Doe claims that afterward, she walked to a gas station and called her father, who picked her up.
The lawsuit was originally filed against Diddy and an unnamed celebrity back in 2024. However, the woman later named Jay-Z. She also later admitted to inconsistencies in her story during an interview with NBC News.
“Jay-Z comes over, holds me down,” she said, per NBC News. “I start trying to push away. He puts his hand over my mouth, tells me to stop it, to cut the sh*t, and then he rapes me, like, he had me overpowered.”
“I was upset, and the person at the gas station could tell that I was obviously upset, and she let me use the phone,” she continued. “I called my dad because he was the only person I trust at that time. I told him I messed up and I needed a ride home. We rode home in silence. He didn’t ask me what happened. He didn’t ask me what I did or where I was.“
However, her father said couldn’t remember picking her up at a gas station. In addition, he added that he had a lot going on. Jane Doe maintained that she was assaulted but that she made mistakes.
“Honestly, what is the clearest is what happened to me and [the] route that I took to what happened to me,” she added. “Not all of the faces there are as clear, so I have made some mistakes. I may have made a mistake in identifying.”
Jay-Z Denied The Allegations And Filed Malicious-Prosecution Lawsuit
Jay-Z vehemently denied the accusations in a fiery statement shared on Instagram. Not only that, but he called the accusation a “blackmail attempt” and filed a malicious-prosecution lawsuit against Buzbee and the accuser.
“My lawyer received a blackmail attempt, called a demand letter, from a ‘lawyer’ named Tony Buzbee,” he wrote in part. “What he had calculated was the nature of these allegations and the public scrutiny would make me want to settle. No sir, it had the opposite effect! It made me want to expose you for the fraud you are in a VERY public fashion. So no, I will not give you ONE RED PENNY!! These allegations are so heinous in nature that I implore you to file a criminal complaint, not a civil one!! Whomever would commit such a crime against a minor should be locked away, would you not agree? These alleged victims would deserve real justice if that were the case.”
He added that Buzbee had a “pattern of these type of theatrics” and called him “a deplorable human.” The ‘Song Cry’ artist went on to note that the allegations caused “heartbreak” for his family.
“My only heartbreak is for my family,” he continued. “My wife and I will have to sit our children down, one of whom is at the age where her friends will surely see the press and ask questions about the nature of these claims, and explain the cruelty and greed of people. I mourn yet another loss of innocence. Children should not have to endure such at their young age. It is unfair to have to try to understand inexplicable degrees of malice meant to destroy families and human spirit.”
Jay-Z added that Buzbee was an “ambulance chaser in a cheap suit” with “idiotic claims” as he noted his heart went out to “true victims.”
“I felt that Mr. Buzbee was placing a gun to my head that I either bow to his demands or endure personal and financial ruin,” wrote Carter in the complaint. “His actions caused me mental anguish about the ticking time bomb and what it would do to me, my family, and my hard-earned reputation.”
Jay-Z also told NBC News at the time that the “incident didn’t happen.”
“This incident didn’t happen,” he said. “True Justice is coming. We fight FROM victory, not FOR victory. This was over before it began. This 1-800 lawyer doesn’t realize it yet, but, soon.”

For Julia Haart and ex-husband Silvio Scaglia Haart, relationship drama doesn’t end with divorce.
Us confirmed that the Russia native filed to end her marriage on February 9, two years after she and the entrepreneur tied the knot. Days later, Page Six reported that Julia submitted a petition for a restraining order against the Fastweb founder, alleging she felt “terrified” of him.
“He has routinely berated me, calling me ‘a venomous snake,’ a ‘monster’ and a ‘liar,’ in the presence of third parties and at times, my children. One of [his] favorite epithets is to tell me to ‘go f–k yourself,’” her petition claimed. “In January 2022, I confronted [Silvio] about his abusive behavior and told him that if anyone ever heard how he acts and speaks to me, they would think he is a horrible person. In response, [he] threatened me, stating: ‘If you ever go to the press about how I treat you or the kids, I will kill you.’”
Julia alleged that she “experienced severe emotional distress” throughout her relationship and because of Silvio’s supposed verbal abuse. Her daughter Miriam, whom she shares with ex-husband Yosef Hendler, provided a statement of her own, claiming that she once found her mom “crying hysterically” in their home.
“I was afraid for her safety and I seriously considered calling the police,” Miriam alleged, per Page Six. “I was terrified that he was hurting her … I ran into the room and found my mother on the bathroom floor, naked, curled up on the floor and sobbing.”
Along with Miriam, the My Unorthodox Life star shares Batsheva, Shlomo and Aron with Hendler. The former couple wed when Julia was 19, calling it quits as she left their strict Jewish community. In her petition, Julia alleged that Silvio insulted her youngest son over his religious beliefs.
“Recently, on January 23, 2022, [Silvio] came into the bathroom while I was bathing, purple in the face and screaming, ‘I hate your children and I hate this place. … I hate Shabbos [the Sabbath] and I don’t want it in my house.’”
The fashion mogul continued: “I have become an emotional wreck for fear of him returning to my home at any time of the day or night. Recently, he summarily and without cause dismissed me from our jointly owned business, cut off my credit cards and made baseless allegations against me.”
Ahead of the pair’s split, Julia was made the CEO of Silvio’s model and talent agency, Elite World Group, joking to The New York Times that she was “horrible” to him while they worked together.
“But I had a lot of respect for him,” Julia told the outlet in July 2021. “As sheltered as my life had been, his life had been the diametric opposite. He’d been everywhere. He’d seen everything. And when I yelled at him, he took it like a man. That made me happy.”
