The Young and the Restless: Victoria Loses It All in Shocking Downfall!
Young and the Restless shows Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) so focused on getting the family business back that she is acting just like Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and isn’t thinking about all the people she’s hurting in the process. Victoria is so busy trying to impress Victor and get Daddy’s approval that she hasn’t seen that this could cost her literally everything.
Victoria Acting Just Like Victor on Young and the Restless
So, you guys probably remember when Victoria was CEO of Newman and she was being totally ruthless. She pushed Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) out. She kind of pushed Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) aside and others in the family to make room for her boy toy at the time, Nate Hastings. (Sean Dominic). She was doing Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) dirty and Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) dirty and just and even Victor. And now Victoria is back to basically the same old awful antics.
Victoria knows that Victor was the first one to attack with the AI. He took down Cane Ashby‘s (Billy Flynn) company and then he took down Matt Clark‘s (Roger Howarth). Although, to be clear, nobody cares about Matt. But now, Victoria is using a double standard when karma bit Victor and the AI was flipped around and used on them when he started it.
It’s understandable that Victoria wants their family business back, but the way she’s helping Victor get it back is so sketchy. He wants to make Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford), Cane, and Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) pay as much as possible for crossing him. And Victoria is in agreement.
Victoria Keeps Victim Shaming Jack on Y&R
And Victor literally just said he does not care who gets hurt. And Victoria has already been grilled repeatedly over condoning Victor kidnapping Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and tossing him on a yacht with crazy Patty Williams (Stacy Haiduk). But Victoria is victim shaming because let’s be clear, Jack was drugged and raped.
And that is the least terrible of her recent bad behavior. And with her blindly doing Victor’s bidding, she hasn’t stopped to think what it might cost her. I think Victoria could lose everything that’s important to her by playing these revenge games. And she may find herself regretting her actions because she can’t see Victor for who he is, the villain in all of this largely.
Victoria Could Lose Nate on Young and the Restless
So, the first thing that Victoria might lose from her life is her blossoming relationship with Nate. He and Victoria rebuilt their friendship after his brother Damian Kane (Jermaine Rivers) died and also after Cole Howard (J. Eddie Peck) passed away and eventually her and Nate’s old feelings started heating up. And they’re on the brink of being back in a full-blown romantic relationship.
But Victoria’s already been showing red flags. Nate is not in favor of all this vengeful stuff because of Victor and Victoria. We’ve already seen Phyllis arrested this week, which that’s fine, whatever. But when Cane is arrested later this week, he may not be able to leave town to go donate bone marrow to Lily’s bio dad, who could very well die without a donor.
Nate Confronts Victoria on Y&R
Lily and Malcolm Winters (Shemar Moore) are Nate’s family. And he’s going to be horrified and disgusted when he finds out that Victoria’s actions could cost Malcolm his life. So, Nate rushes over to the GCAC to comfort Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) this week after Cane is arrested. And I’m sure that Lily is going to tell Nate that Victor has trumped up evidence to target Cane.
And I think Nate will turn around and grill Victoria, who is going to do her lie and deny like she did with Billy this week. But once Nate reveals that Victor and Victoria are going to get Malcolm killed, that should be a game changer for her. Plus, the evidence is all faked. It’s not like Victoria handed over actual real proof to Christine Williams Romalotti (Lauralee Bell).
Claire May Confront Victoria on Young and the Restless
I also think Claire Newman (Hayley Erin) might have some things to say to her mom, Victoria. I’m sure Holden Novak‘s (Nathan Owens) going to tell Claire that thanks to her granddad and her mom, Cane was arrested, so now he can’t make it to New York to donate to Malcolm.
And Young and the Restless spoilers have Claire making a bold move to support Holden this week. So, I’m wondering if Claire confronts her mom and her granddad and demands they drop the charges on Cane so he can go donate to Malcolm as planned. But I don’t think Victor’s going to listen to anything Claire or anybody else has to say. But Victoria might listen.
Claire may give her mom a soft ultimatum, you know. And tell Victoria that she’s done enabling Victor’s bad behavior. I think we are just about at the point where Claire can no longer turn a blind eye. Claire already threatened to walk away from Victor before and she may tell Victoria she’s done.

The Young and the Restless: Nikki Disgusted with Victoria
And there’s also her mom Nikki to consider. She will likely tell Victoria she has picked the wrong side. Nikki already tried to talk sense to Victoria and I think that Nikki might be disgusted that Victoria is helping fake evidence and is blindly excusing and enabling Victor, which is honestly what Nikki’s done for years, but she seems to be finally done with that.
She may worry also that Victoria could face legal consequences for giving the DA fraudulent information that is against the law. So, I doubt Nikki’s going to care much about Phyllis being arrested. But Cane’s arrest risks Malcolm’s life and Billy’s arrest is problematic because he’s the father of Victoria’s children, Nikki’s grandkids, you know. So, she may tell Victoria that she can’t be around her as long as she is acting as sketchy as Victor. Now, I don’t think Nikki would cut Victoria out of her life, but she may tell her, “Go think about what you’re doing” because Nikki doesn’t approve. Not at all.
Lily May Expose Victor’s Lies on Y&R
I also bet Lily is going to blow up at Victor and Victoria over Cane’s arrest. And Lily might tell Victoria and Nikki exactly what Victor promised to fake the kidnapping, which is Chancellor. Why would Lily keep any of Victor’s secrets at this point? And he has been lying to the whole family this whole time.
Lily is absolutely terrified this week when Cane is hauled away in handcuffs and she can’t believe what’s happening. He promises Lily that Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) will bail him out and he will make it there to donate. But let’s be real, Victor destroyed Cane’s company first. So, Victor is not the victim here. He is the aggressor.
I also wonder if Victoria’s brothers, Nick and Adam, will be down with them using this fake evidence. Not that Victor will listen to them either. Now, I doubt her brothers would cut Victoria out of their lives or anything like that, but Nick has told Victoria before to stop acting like their father. Also, there’s Billy and Victoria’s kids, Johnny and Katie. They’re going to be shocked and horrified to hear that their dad is going to jail because their mom faked evidence. And why would Billy cover for her? Why would Billy not tell them that Victor and Victoria set him up?
Billy Ripped Away from Sally & Their Baby on Young and the Restless
Plus, Sally’s pregnant and she’s going to be disgusted that Victoria and Victor faked this evidence and are taking the father of her child away from her while she’s pregnant. Because again, the evidence is fake. It’s not like they have real evidence of wrongdoing. And that means that Christine is set to be publicly embarrassed when the truth comes out.
And she may lash back at Victor and Victoria. Phyllis already warned Christine last week and tells her again when she oversees her arrest, that this is all faked. She’s told by Phyllis, I’m sure Cane and Billy and their lawyers are going to say the same thing. And if Christine pushes forward with fake evidence, she could be kicked out as district attorney and even disbarred.
Victoria Could Face Arrest Herself on Y&R
So, I wonder in the end if Victoria might wind up losing her freedom and faces arrest herself because she’s the one who gave the fraudulent evidence to Christine knowing 100% it had been faked. And of course, Victor probably doesn’t care. He’s risking Victoria’s freedom.
He doesn’t care about anybody right now. So, I just wonder how far Victoria is going to let Victor’s vengeful fixation run her life and ruin her life. If Victoria keeps on like this, she could lose everybody important to her and in the end still may not have Victor’s approval. You know how he is.

Meanwhile, Yona Lashay shared a few observations of her own. During the call, she claimed she couldn’t repost the TikTok to her account and suggested Rakai might be hiding the post from someone.
She also asked her daughter whether she could actually see the relationship going anywhere. In which Yona Royale appeared flustered before handing the phone up.

The Greatest Action Series of All Time Is the Perfect Weekend Binge 40 Years Later
Everybody remembers the legacy of MacGyver. Swiss Army knives, duct tape, household objects being transformed into things household objects were never meant to become…the show practically invented that method. What gets forgotten is that Angus MacGyver wasn’t solving problems because he enjoyed building gadgets. He was solving them because he’d rather spend ten minutes figuring something out than ten milliseconds pulling a trigger.
MacGyver Was the Anti-Action Hero of the 1980s
The setup was delightfully straightforward: MacGyver (Richard Dean Anderson) worked for the Phoenix Foundation — a government think tank housing an intelligence agency — and had a remarkable talent for showing up exactly where things were going wrong. One week, it was terrorists. The next week, it was spies. After that, it was kidnappers, criminals, or somebody whose terrible decision-making had spiraled completely out of control. Most television heroes would’ve solved those problems with bullets, but MacGyver usually solved them by staring at a pile of random objects until an idea appeared.
The concept probably shouldn’t work as well as it does. A man solving international crises with household objects sounds like the setup for a joke. The reason it works is Anderson. He never plays MacGyver like a genius, showing off. He plays him like a practical guy who’s slightly baffled that nobody else has noticed the obvious solution yet.
The contrast was especially noticeable in the 1980s. Television action heroes were getting louder, tougher, and increasingly more explosive. Every year, they seemed determined to add bigger weapons and larger body counts. Then there was MacGyver, wandering into danger looking like somebody’s approachable science teacher and somehow leaving with fewer casualties than everybody else.
That’s the part that feels surprisingly rebellious now. Modern action heroes often spend half their screen time processing trauma and the other half launching opponents through walls. MacGyver approached most crises the way ordinary people approach assembling furniture. It might be frustrating. It might take longer than expected. But surely there was a solution that didn’t involve setting everything on fire.
The power of the guilty pleasure.
MacGyver’s Intelligence Still Feels Refreshing Today
The gadgets were never really the point. They were a visual representation of how MacGyver viewed the world. Every problem had a solution. Every situation deserved a closer look. Every locked door, broken machine, hostage crisis, or dangerous confrontation could potentially be solved with observation, patience, and a little creativity. That philosophy gives the series an unusual warmth. Even when episodes become ridiculous, and some absolutely do, the show remains rooted in the belief that intelligence is useful. Not intelligence as arrogance. Intelligence as curiosity.
MacGyver succeeds because he notices things, asks questions, and understands how systems work. Then he uses that knowledge to help people. Watching the series now, it’s striking how little that approach has aged. Some of the hairstyles absolutely belong in a museum. Some of the technology looks like it should be displayed beside a fax machine and a stack of floppy disks. Yet the central idea remains surprisingly durable. The world does not need another hero looking for an excuse to pull a trigger, and that’s what makes him one of the best action heroes.
That’s why MacGyver still works forty years later. Not because of the Swiss Army knife or homemade inventions. Not only because Richard Dean Anderson remains endlessly likable, the show endures because it built an action hero around intelligence instead of violence. In an era when so many protagonists solve every problem by hitting it harder, watching somebody use his brain as Plan A still feels like a novelty. And somehow, decades later, that’s what makes MacGyver feel ahead of its time.

Zendaya’s Rue Nearly Had A Different ‘Euphoria’ Ending
Zendaya‘s “Euphoria” character Rue was not originally meant to meet the tragic fate seen in the Season 3 finale, according to show creator Sam Levinson.
Amid debate over several controversial scenes, Levinson has also defended the dark destiny of multiple characters this season.
Although nothing has been officially confirmed, Season 3 appears to mark the end of the hit HBO series, not only because of the deaths of several lead characters, but also due to reports of strained relationships among the cast.
Fans witnessed Zendaya’s character, Rue Bennett, face a devastating turn in the “Euphoria” Season 3 finale after unknowingly taking painkillers laced with fentanyl.
However, Levinson has revealed in a new interview with The New York Times that this was not always the plan.
According to him, Rue was originally mapped out for an entirely different trajectory, but the real-life death of fellow actor Angus Cloud forced him to change the narrative.
“I had originally written a different trajectory for the character of Rue. During the writers’ strike, we got the news that Angus passed away,” he said, referring to the 2023 overdose death of Cloud, who played soft-hearted drug dealer Fezco in the series.
“I’d always been really concerned about the prevalence of fentanyl. It’s something that we’ve dealt with over the seasons and even in my first film [Another Happy Day],” he continued. “But once he passed away, I had to reconceive the script, and I thought, ‘you can’t tell a story about addiction today without the very real consequences.’”
Sam Levinson Defends Rue’s Tragic Fate

Like Rue, the Coroner’s Office confirmed that Cloud’s death was accidental and caused by acute intoxication due to the combined effects of multiple substances.
Levinson said the change to Rue’s fate felt like the “responsible thing to do,” as it highlighted the dangers of drug addiction.
He said, “Most people don’t get a second chance. Fentanyl can just take you out in an instant. It wasn’t like when I was growing up; you could literally take pills off the street, and you might have a bad trip or something, but you’d be fine.”
“This is something that hits close to home for a lot of people in this country. So, it felt like the responsible thing to do,” he added.
Levinson Also Defended Nate’s Brutal Ending
Rue’s death was not the only character exit Levinson had to defend in the finale, as he also spoke about Nate Jacobs’ “horrific” death.
Nate, who was deep in debt, was pursued by loan sharks who kidnapped him while trying to recover money from his wife, Cassie, played by Sydney Sweeney.
In an episode titled “Rain or Shine,” Cassie and her friend Maddy scrambled to raise the money and even enlisted the help of crime boss Alamo in their search for him.
By the time they discovered where Nate had been taken, it was already too late.
“There’s this kind of funny thing where I know what the audience wants in terms of justice or karma, and with that in mind, I always think, ‘Well, how can I give it to them?’” Levinson told Esquire. “How can I give them what they want, but make it so horrific and anxiety-inducing that by the time it happens, the audience isn’t so sure they wanted it?”
Sydney Sweeney’s Cassie Storyline Divided Fans

All season long, “Euphoria” came under fire from fans over several risqué scenes involving Sweeney’s character after Cassie became an OnlyFans creator.
Some viewers felt the scenes went too far and accused the show of leaning heavily into shock value.
However, Sweeney seemingly hit back at critics in a recent Instagram post, where she shared photos from behind the scenes.
“It’s called… acting,” she wrote in the caption in a seemingly pointed message to critics.
Sam Levinson Says Sweeney Was ‘Fearless’

Levinson also praised Sweeney’s work on the series after fans accused him of subjecting her to a “humiliation ritual.”
During a recent appearance on The New York Times’ “Popcast” podcast, he praised the actress for how boldly she approached the controversial scenes throughout the season.
“I think she’s a totally fearless actor. She’s also just wonderfully professional, and shows up just game every day,” he said. “I adore working with her, because there’s such a flexibility in terms of the performance.”

Garcelle Beauvais Reveals Run-In With Sutton Stracke
Former “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Garcelle Beauvais is opening up about her unexpected run-in with her estranged former bestie, Sutton Stracke. Beauvais and Stracke were as thick as thieves from 2020 to 2025. However, things took a turn at the “RHOBH” season 14 reunion, when Beauvais said she felt Stracke didn’t have her back during the heated sit-down gathering.

Speaking with Kelly Ripa on her “Let’s Talk Off Camera” podcast, Beauvais confirmed that she hadn’t spoken with Stracke since March 2025, when she revealed she was leaving “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” in her rearview mirror.
“I haven’t spoken to her since I made that announcement on Instagram that I was leaving. I spoke to her that night,” Beauvais said.
However, Beauvais said that she ran into Stracke on the red carpet of a movie premiere, which caught her by surprise. “I hear, ‘Hello Garcelle.’ And I turn to my right, and it’s Sutton,” the actress said, adding that she simply said “hi” back.
“And that was really it,” Beauvais added. “And it was so strange because I got on the carpet, and then she got on the carpet, but we were far apart.”
Stracke Speaks About Her Fallout With Garcelle Beauvais

Stracke was pressed about her relationship with Beauvais during a March 2026 interview, according to The Blast. At the time, Stracke said that while she didn’t believe she was guilty of some of the things Beauvais said about her, she admitted to missing their connection.
“I don’t know if I handled things in a bad way,” she said. “I think I did, and I wish that I could do it again and maybe do something better.”
According to Stracke, she “really misses” Beauvais and what they had. “It’s just so sad. It was just a sad ending to a really fun-loving friendship.”
Garcelle Beauvais Said Stracke ‘Hurt’ Her Feelings During Their Final Season Of ‘RHOBH’

While appearing on Andy Cohen’s “Watch What Happens Live,” Beauvais told the Bravo figurehead that she didn’t see a path forward with Stracke.
Continuing, the “Survival of the Thickest” actress said that she was bothered by Stracke’s alleged behavior during the season 14 reunion.
“Not only did she not have my back when she called, she never took accountability for it, and that hurt my feelings a lot,” Beauvais shared.
Although Beauvais has shut the door on her relationship with Stracke, it doesn’t mean the latter is done trying. According to a previous report from The Blast, Stracke said she was “hopeful” things would get better.
“I’m just hoping that Garcelle is good and happy and on the path that she wants to be on, which I know she is,” Stracke continued.
Beauvais Details ‘Hard’ Decision To Leave ‘Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills’

Beauvais walked away from Bravo and “RHOBH” in March 2025, revealing that her focus was shifting to her children as they were getting older.
A year later, the reality star wrote a book about her decision called “Protecting My Peace… At All Costs.”
While promoting the memoir, Beauvais admitted that leaving the show was a tough decision, primarily because of the money, per The Blast.
“It was hard because, again, I’m an immigrant. You don’t leave jobs,” she said. “You don’t leave jobs that are paying you, right? So that wasn’t an easy decision.”
However, something shifted for Beauvais, allowing her to come to terms with saying goodbye.
“A line was drawn for me that I no longer wanted to cross. I felt like my spirit could no longer do it. (It was) just drama for the sake of drama,” she said. “The same way I walked in is how I walked out. Alone. I didn’t wanna fight anymore. I didn’t wanna be a grown a, woman, a grandmother, going after other women.”
Why Beauvais Was ‘Happy’ With Her Choice To Leave

In December 2025, Beauvais said she was experiencing “happy” changes since leaving the world of “Real Housewives” behind her.
“You know, it was tough to be in that fishbowl. And I know the fandom is amazing, and everybody loves the show, and I took a lot away with me from it,” she confessed before saying she’s since gotten more time to spend with those who matter most to her.
“But I’m also happy that I get to spend more time with my kids before they go off to college, and I get to do all these great creative things that I like to do,” she finished.

Prince Andrew’s Daughters Attend Peter Phillips’ Wedding
Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie attended their cousin Peter Phillips’ royal wedding amid their father Andrew Mountbatten Windsor’s ongoing scandal.
Beatrice, 37, was pictured arriving at the All Saints’ Church in Kemble, England, alongside husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, who gallantly held an umbrella over her head. The pair walked into the church ahead of Eugenie, 36, and her husband, Jack Brooksbank.
Beatrice opted for green, floral frock with a beige fascinator for the occasion, while Eugenie, who is currently pregnant with her third baby, donned a navy coatdress with a coordinating headpiece.
The duo stepped out in support of Princess Anne’s son, 48-year-old Peter, upon his nuptials to NHS nurse Harriet Sperling. (Peter was previously married to Autumn Kelly, with whom he shares two daughters.)
Peter’s royal wedding marks a rare public outing for the York princesses, who took a step back from the spotlight amid Andrew’s arrest scandal.
Andrew, 66, was stripped of his royal titles in October 2025, months before being arrested for alleged misconduct in public office. (Andrew, who was released from jail within hours, has not addressed the accusations.)

“I have learned with the deepest concern the news about Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and suspicion of misconduct in public office,” Andrew’s brother King Charles III said in a February statement. “What now follows is the full, fair and proper process by which this issue is investigated in the appropriate manner and by the appropriate authorities. In this, as I have said before, they have our full and wholehearted support and cooperation.”
The king, 77, continued, “Let me state clearly: the law must take its course. As this process continues, it would not be right for me to comment further on this matter. Meanwhile, my family and I will continue in our duty and service to you all.”
Beatrice and Eugenie, whom Andrew shares with ex-wife Sarah Ferguson, have not publicly addressed their father’s legal drama.
“They aren’t as worried about Andrew being arrested and going to jail, but they are still horrified that he’s involved in this and worry there could be more to come,” a source exclusively told Us Weekly in March of the princesses’ reaction to the scandal. “It’s devastating for them and in London it’s all people are talking about.”
Per the insider, Beatrice and Eugenie “had to change their upcoming public-facing plans and future plans” amid the scandal.
“They are not actually planning on doing any public events in the near future because of everything surrounding their parents because they know that will be the focus,” the source added.

Ridley Scott’s 8-Part Sci-Fi Sleeper Hit Is Your Next Streaming Obsession
2026 is expected to be a big year for Ridley Scott, who is returning to the sci-fi genre for the first time in almost 10 years. Scott last directed a sci-fi movie in 2017, with Alien: Covenant, and he has since confirmed that the film will serve as his final time writing or directing an Alien project — he continues to serve as a producer on future projects, though. Scott’s new sci-fi movie, The Dog Stars, is now coming to theaters on August 28 after being delayed out of its original March launch spot. Scott has recruited an all-time ensemble to headline his new post-apocalyptic thriller, including Jacob Elordi, Josh Brolin, and Margaret Qualley. The film is set in a world where a virus has wiped out most of humanity, leaving only a few survivors behind to pick up the pieces.
Scott has also worked on a few TV shows in the last few years that have helped expand his audience to the small screen. He began 2025 by directing an episode of Dope Thief, the Apple TV crime thriller starring Brian Tyree Henry and Wagner Moura. After the release of Dope Thief, Scott returned to a producing role on the Hulu sci-fi series, Alien: Earth, which was written and created for TV by Noah Hawley (Fargo). A few months after the conclusion of Alien: Earth Season 1, FX picked up the show for Season 2, which is now in production and expected to come out next year. Before Alien: Earth Season 2 premieres on Hulu, fans are rewatching the show on repeat, which has led it back into the streaming top 10 in a handful of countries around the world.
What Is ‘Alien: Earth’ About?
The official synopsis for Alien: Earth, which holds scores of 94% from critics and 65% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes, reads as follows:
“In the year 2120, a mysterious spacecraft crashes on Earth, unleashing deadly extraterrestrial life into a world dominated by powerful corporations and emerging synthetic technologies. As humanity’s future hangs in the balance, a young hybrid and her allies confront unimaginable horrors, corporate ambition, and the ultimate fight for survival.”
Plot details about Alien: Earth Season 2 are being kept under wraps at this time. The biggest new cast member announced is Peter Dinklage, who is famous for playing Tyrion Lannister in all eight seasons of Game of Thrones.

Mayim Bialik Details ‘Nightmare’ Reaction To Weight-Loss Drug
Mayim Bialik is opening up about what she described as a “nightmare” experience after trying a GLP-1 weight-loss drug. The “Big Bang Theory” star detailed the frightening side effects, revealing that after taking just one shot of the medication, she experienced severe symptoms that quickly spiraled into what she described as a medical ordeal. Mayim Bialik also shared that she experienced severe gastrointestinal distress.

“To say I had an adverse reaction would be somewhat of an understatement,” she wrote in a candid essay titled “My GLP-1 Nightmare” for The Free Press. “Cramping. Bloating. Full-body aching, as though I had the flu, and an inability to keep down even small sips of water without sprinting to the bathroom with yet more explosive diarrhea.”
Bialik admitted the situation became so severe that she was unable to make it to the bathroom multiple times. “More than three times, I didn’t make it,” she revealed.
The actress said the reaction reminded her of a previous medical experience. “What followed was closer to an allergic reaction, the kind I once had to an antibiotic for a sinus infection, which led me to soil myself without warning and cancel a camping trip to spend the weekend on the toilet,” she wrote. “This was that, but for three days.”
She also described additional side effects, including “sulfur burps so violent they left me afraid to open my mouth in public,” as well as repeated sneezing episodes while trying to eat or drink.
Why Bialik Tried The Drug

Bialik made it clear that her decision to try a GLP-1 medication was not rooted in pressure to lose weight, despite years of public scrutiny over her appearance. “I grew up in the limelight, with my appearance scrutinized weekly from the time I starred in my own NBC show at 14,” she wrote.
The actress reflected on how her relationship with body image shifted over time after being prescribed medication as a teenager to “manage my moods,” which she said contributed to weight gain. By her forties, Bialik said she had developed “a deep sense of shame around my body” and “felt obese” at a size six.
“By the time social media arrived, with its fixation on being thinner, more toned, more surgically perfected, that pressure tipped into a disordered relationship with food that I have spent years trying to untangle,” she explained.
Still, Bialik said weight loss was not the primary motivation behind trying the medication. Instead, she revealed that three different doctors encouraged her to consider the drug because of her ongoing health struggles.
Mayim Bialik Says Health Issues Prompted Decision

Bialik shared that she was diagnosed with Graves’ disease, an autoimmune disorder affecting the thyroid, at age 23. Over the years, she said she was later diagnosed with Sjögren’s syndrome, dysautonomia, connective tissue disease, and mast cell activation syndrome (MCAS), following years of symptoms that included “four unexplained hernias, full-body rashes and welts, severe histamine reactions to foods and smells, palpitations, hourly wake-ups for an entire year” and “crying jags alternating with crippling depression.”
According to Bialik, doctors suggested the medication not because of the “20 postmenopausal pounds” she had gained, but due to growing evidence that GLP-1 drugs may help reduce inflammation tied to autoimmune disorders. “I was exhausted from being sick, from the endless parade of specialists, from the diets, the protocols, and the promises. Maybe this could be the magic cure,” she wrote.
Bialik Says She Quit After One Shot

After experiencing the severe reaction, Bialik said her doctor and nurse told her that intense side effects are not uncommon with GLP-1 medications.
“This drug has a very long half-life; my prescribing doctor had told me to expect at least a week of this, if not more,” she wrote.
Mayim Bialik Was Told GLP-1 Drug ‘Did Not Meet That Bar’

Following the experience, Bialik visited a gastroenterologist, who reportedly warned that GLP-1 medications “are extremely disruptive to the body and should not be used outside of a specific, regulated set of serious medical reasons, namely, life-compromising obesity and its related health consequences” and that she “did not meet that bar.”
Despite the ordeal, Bialik ended her essay with an unexpected moment of reflection, admitting she noticed physical changes after stopping the medication. She recalled catching her reflection in a mirror and noticing that she “did not recoil” because her “second chin” had vanished and her skirt had started to sag.
Bialik is not the only celebrity to speak openly about difficult experiences with GLP-1 drugs. Kris Jenner previously admitted Ozempic made her “really sick” and “nauseous,” while Amy Schumer described her own experience as “horrible” after dealing with severe nausea and vomiting.

Mika Abdalla’s Ex Jake Short Takes Accountability Amid Backlash
Former Disney Channel star Jake Short is further clarifying his controversial comments about now-ex Mika Abdalla.
“I made a disrespectful, juvenile joke in a clip that recirculated this week,” Short, 29, wrote in a statement shared via his Instagram Stories on early Saturday, June 6, “It’s imperative to me that I take accountability as I am aware that it was inappropriate.”
Shortly after Us Weekly broke the news earlier this month that Short and the Off Campus star, 26, ended their engagement, a 2024 clip of the then-pair on Short’s “The Sit and Chat” podcast resurfaced online. Fans thought Short appeared to disparage Abdalla in the footage.
“It’s not representative of who I am or who I was in my relationship,” Short stressed on Saturday of the now-viral remarks. “I continue to learn from this situation and work to show people the respect they deserve.”
Hours earlier, Abdalla and Short issued an exclusive statement to Us regarding the podcast comments in question.
“We’ve seen a conversation around clips of us together when we were in a relationship, and people making harmful and inaccurate assumptions about our dynamic,” the exes told Us. “We were in a loving, respectful relationship for five years [and] it’s hurtful to see playful moments dissected in a way that does not reflect the respect and love we had and still have for each other.”
Us confirmed on Monday, June 1, that Abdalla and Short split after five years together.

“Due to recent interest in Mika’s personal life, it would feel remiss to not address that her and Jake are no longer together,” a rep for Abdalla said at the time. “They continue to support each other and remain on friendly terms, and kindly ask for privacy and respect.”
Abdalla, who met Short on the set of 2021’s Sex Appeal, recently starred as Allie Hayes in Prime Video’s Off Campus. She is set to co-lead the upcoming season 2, which is currently in production, opposite Stephen Kalyn’s Dean Heyward-Di Laurentis.
“I’m just really looking forward to digging deeper into who Allie and Dean are,” Abdalla told Us last month. “They both, kind of, have these fronts, these personas that are hard to kind of crack through. They are kind of stereotypes of themselves. But in the books, as we know, there’s so much beneath the surface of Dean, and there’s so much beneath the surface of Allie.”
She continued, “When it is time for our season, I’m excited to dig emotionally into that a little bit more, because, you know, we see Allie and Dean as their exteriors a lot in season 1. While that is fun, and they are super fun characters to play, I think as actors, selfishly, both of us are really excited to, kind of, like, get psychological.”

Star Trek Icon’s Family Awarded $13 Million In Wrongful Death Lawsuit
By Chris Snellgrove
| Updated

In 2022, Star Trek lost one of its greatest icons. Nichelle Nichols played Uhura on The Original Series and continued to play this character over the course of six films. She was a Civil Rights legend whose work on the original Trek was praised by none other than Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Thanks to her awesome performance, Uhura became a pop culture legend, one who has since been portrayed by two other talented ladies: Zoe Saldaña and Celia Rose Gooding. Sadly, Nichols passed away a few years ago of heart failure. At the time, fans had no reason to be suspicious about her death, especially because she was 89 and already suffering from dementia.
However, last year, Nichols’ family sued the Gila Regional Medical Center for wrongful death. In a statement to local Albuquerque, New Mexico news station KOAT, the family’s attorney, Lisa Curtis, alleged that “didn’t do cardiac work on her. Instead, they discharged her home. She died seven hours later.” At the time, it was unclear whether the lawsuit would be successful. However, the family won a bittersweet victory and was recently awarded $13 million after winning the case.
Her Harrowing Final Hours

Fair warning, Star Trek fans: the final hours of Nichelle Nichols are pretty bleak. She was already suffering from dementia and a heart condition. When her heart began acting up, she was taken by ambulance to Gila Regional Medical Center. What she was experiencing appeared to be the symptoms of acute heart failure. However, the Nichols’ family attorney, Lisa Curtis, told KOAT that “They put her in an observation unit” instead of doing cardiac work on her or having her transferred somewhere else (like “Las Cruces, where they have cardiologists on staff”). Curtis alleged that Nichols was simply discharged and sent home, where she died seven hours later.
The family’s lawsuit was successful, and thanks to a recent verdict, they will be receiving $13 million dollars. It reportedly took the jury only a couple of hours to determine that the Gila Regional Medical Center was guilty of negligence. The lawsuit also determined specific levels of liability for different parties involved. One of Nichols’ doctors was found 60 percent liable, while another doctor was found not liable at all. As for GRMC, they were deemed 40 percent liable for the case involving this Star Trek icon’s death. This represents a major victory for Nichols’ son, Kyle, who pointed out that if a major celebrity could receive negligent treatment, the same could happen to anyone.

While this verdict may bring closure to Nichelle Nichols’ family, it will likely not do so for her legions of Star Trek fans. At the time of her death, most of the fandom thought that her passing was just an inevitable (if obviously sad) consequence of old age and deteriorating health. Now, this lawsuit has brought up the uncomfortable possibility that she might very well still be alive if she had received better medical care when she needed it the most. However, grieving fans may want to follow in her son’s footsteps and do their best to create something that Nichols convinced us all was possible: a better tomorrow.
