Warner Bros. Has A New Owner, And It Isn’t Netflix
By Jennifer Asencio
| Published

The bidding war over Warner Bros. Discovery is over, and it looks like Paramount has emerged as the victor. Netflix has dropped its bid for the century-old studio and production company, and it is now in the hands of Paramount Skydance. This news has rocked the entertainment industry and sparked speculation about the future of Warner Bros. properties, including HBO, CNN, and the DC Comics cinematic universe, which includes Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman among its famous superheroes.
The sale of the Warner Brothers movie collection has been a hot-button issue for those who watch the entertainment industry. Netflix announced that it dropped its bid to acquire the catalog, leaving Paramount as the winning bid. It cost Paramount Skydance Studios an estimated $111 billion to secure a catalog going back more than a century.
Three Bidders Enter, One Bidder Leaves
Netflix was counting on Warner Bros.’s history of success in the entertainment industry to boost its own catalogue, given its relative newcomer status in movie production and distribution. So was Paramount, which made a bid for the floundering studio and its assets in September 2025. Warner Bros. formally rejected this offer in October, which enabled both Comcast and Netflix to make their own bid.
Eventually, Comcast dropped out, and as far as anyone could tell, only Netflix was a viable player on the field with an offer approaching $82.7 billion. This rankled WBD stockholder Ancora Alternatives LLC, which held out its vote on February 11, 2026, on the grounds that Paramount’s complaints of favoritism toward Netflix were true. This reopened the bidding and allowed Paramount until February 23, 2026, to make a qualifying “superior offer” for Warner Bros.
Netflix had three days to make a counteroffer and announced on February 26, 2026, that it would not do so.
Warner Bros Has Been A Tax Write Off For Years
The entire deal has been covered in controversy. For a few years, Warner Bros. has been writing off properties for tax purposes, including entire movies and television shows. This included digital properties people had purchased for themselves that suddenly disappeared from their libraries with no explanation. These tax write-offs were also an indication of how much trouble the company was in.
Paramount’s move to make its initial bid was seen as an attempt at a hostile takeover. Warner Bros. and Paramount have been competitors for over a century. Combining their libraries puts a significant amount of cinematic and television history under one umbrella. A successful Netflix bid would have given Netflix the lion’s share of the streaming market, as it currently controls over 19% while Paramount and Warner Bros. each control almost 11%. As it stands, Paramount is poised to control more of the market than Netflix and would be second only to Disney+ and its streaming partners, Hulu and Fubo.
Warner Bros. and Paramount also own several news services between them, including CNN and CBS. CBS News has been under fire of its own after the ascension of Bari Weiss as news editor. Social media has been abuzz with viewers who are wary of Weiss potentially controlling CNN because they think she is too friendly to President Trump in her editorial decisions. This is despite Weiss being a centrist who has been critical of Trump in her previous work.
More Content Silos In Our Future?
Another issue is the potential for reducing access to media that is already seeing increased siloing of content. Entertainment companies push out their own apps or merge with other companies to consolidate their smaller catalogs, as the union of Paramount and Warner Bros. is about to do. The Paramount Plus app is notoriously buggy and even failed for some users during the Survivor 50 premiere on Wednesday, February 25. Paramount already excludes much of its content produced before the 1980s, and obtaining a long-standing rival’s library could mean the Warner Bros. and HBO collections get the same treatment.
Paramount’s Destruction Of Beloved Properties
Finally, there is the issue of Paramount practically destroying its own properties. Starfleet Academy has been criticized for poor writing, the destruction of Star Trek lore, and gratuitous inclusion in places where such inclusion makes no sense. Coupled with the trajectory of programs like Survivor, the NCIS and CSI franchises, and endless reboots of Matlock, Hawaii Five-O, and MacGuyver, signs show that the entertainment division is heading in a direction that asks serious questions about what will become of Warner Bros. properties like the Lord of the Rings trilogy, the Harry Potter series, and the DC Universe, among others. HBO Max runs numerous classic Akira Kurosawa movies, like The Hidden Fortress and Rashomon: what will become of them under Paramount’s supervision?
Now that the deal is finalized, the next step is to examine it for any antitrust issues it raises. This will require scrutiny from numerous governments besides the United States, because every country Paramount wants to do business in has a certain amount of input in the proceedings.
Neither Netflix nor Paramount should have been able to buy Warner Bros. All the players involved, including Comcast, represent significant portions of the American and foreign streaming markets, as well as entertainment and news media. It shrinks the pool of major entertainment companies to a mere four.
Now, if the deal passes muster with anti-trust laws, two of the oldest studios in Hollywood are about to join forces, for better or for worse.

Michael Jackson’s Former Friends Sue His Estate For Abuse
Michael Jackson’s former family friends, the Cascios, have reportedly filed a lawsuit against his estate, alleging sex trafficking and abuse. According to TMZ, members of the Cascio family claim they endured decades of misconduct, starting when some of them were minors.

Cascios Family Claims Michael Jackson Subjected Them To Years Of Misconduct
Edward Cascio, Dominic Cascio, Marie Porte, and Aldo Cascio filed a lawsuit against The Michael Jackson Company, accusing the corporation of sex trafficking children through force, fraud, and coercion. In the suit, they claim the pop icon carried out the alleged conduct for years, starting when some of them were just seven or eight years old. The siblings stated that Jackson would insert himself into their lives by showering them with gifts and giving them access to his lavish lifestyle. Afterwards, he would allegedly separate them from each other and from their families before carrying out years of abuse.
The lawsuit lists several accusations, including claims that he targeted the siblings during interstate and international trips, taking them to places like Switzerland, Florida, South Africa, and the United Kingdom. Edward Cascio specifically alleges that Jackson assault him inside Elizabeth Taylor’s home in Switzerland and Elton John’s home in the United Kingdom. The Cascios also argue that Jackson tried to normalize the abuse by showing them explicit photos of nude children. Additionally, the family mentioned that MJ frequently used prescription drugs such as Xanax and Vicodin.
The Cascios previously approached Jackson’s estate after watching the 2019 ‘Leaving Neverland’ documentary, leading them to secure a settlement. TMZ notes that each sibling reportedly collected $690K, per year for five years, but they now consider that amount insufficient. Their attorney, Mark Geragos, reportedly traveled to Los Angeles last month in an effort to void the agreement. However, MJ’s estate lawyer, Marty Singer, pushed back and accused the siblings of attempting to extort the late singer’s team.

MJ’s Estate Previously Made Headlines For Reportedly Reacting To Sexyy Red’s ‘Beat It’ Sample
Earlier this month, Michael’s team made headlines after Sexyy Red teased a spicy sample of ‘Beat It.’ Some fans thought she was just trolling and having fun in the studio, but the viral clip reportedly caught MJ’s estate’s attention. ‘Breakfast Club’ host Loren Lorosa said a spokesperson from the estate spoke with her exclusively, making it clear that Sexyy Red didn’t have permission to use Michael’s music. The spokesperson also added that the estate had no idea about Red’s sample before it went viral.

Every Question Police Can’t Answer About Nancy Guthrie’s Disappearance
As the search for Savannah Guthrie’s mom, Nancy Guthrie, continues, authorities are remaining tight-lipped on some burning questions surrounding the case.
Nearly a month after Nancy, 84, was kidnapped from her Tucson, Arizona, home, police have yet to identify a suspect or person of interest in the case.
“This remains an active investigation and will continue until Nancy Guthrie is located or all leads have been exhausted,” the Pima County Sheriff’s Department said in a statement on February 27, 2026. “The Pima County Sheriff’s Department is refocusing resources to detectives specifically assigned to this case. As leads are developed and resolved, resource allocation may fluctuate.”
Nancy was last seen at her home in Arizona after she was dropped off by family members on January 31, 2026. One day later, Nancy did not attend a virtual service for her church, which caused alarm.
Since then, her disappearance has grabbed the attention of millions of Americans who want to bring Nancy home.
As the investigation continues, take a look at the most burning questions that police seemingly can’t address quite yet.
How Did Someone Get Into Nancy Guthrie’s Home?

Savannah and Nancy Guthrie Courtesy of NBC News
On February 12, 2026, the FBI released surveillance footage of a suspect on Nancy’s porch the night of her alleged kidnapping. Since then, people have wondered how the kidnapper got access to Nancy’s home.
While theories range from the door being unlocked to the suspect having a key, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos will not reveal exactly what could have happened.
“I’m not going to go into whether that’s forced entry or not forced entry or my suspicions,” Nanos told NBC News on February 17.
Was Blood Found Inside Nancy Guthrie’s Home?
Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos addressed reports that there was blood found inside Nancy Guthrie’s home.
“We’re not confirming whether there was blood in the home or any of that,” Nanos told NewsNation on February 3, 2026. “What we’re saying is we do have evidence that we submitted to DNA labs, actually, through other sources that we use, and they have confirmed that the DNA that we found was in fact, belonged to Nancy, Savannah’s mom, which we were hopeful that it would give us a different profile than just hers, but that’s where we’re at with the DNA.”
Who Is the Suspect in Nancy Guthrie’s Disappearance?
Days after FBI Director Kash Patel shared surveillance photos and footage of a potential suspect spotted at Nancy Guthrie’s porch the night of her disappearance, authorities released “identifying details” about the person caught on camera.
The suspect is described as a “male, approximately 5’9” – 5’10” tall, with an average build. In the video, he is wearing a black, 25-liter ‘Ozark Trail Hiker Pack’ backpack.”
Police, however, have not confirmed if they’ve identified the person caught on camera.
Do Police Have New Leads in the Case?
In an Instagram video posted on February 24, 2026, Savannah Guthrie revealed that a reward of up to $1 million will be paid for the recovery of Nancy Guthrie.
In just one day, the FBI received “more than 750 tips related to Nancy’s disappearance” following Savannah’s latest message, Today reported.
While it’s unclear if any of the tips have provided substantial leads, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos previously told NBC News, “When you’re transparent, it doesn’t mean you just open up your whole investigation up.”
Why Is Nancy Guthrie’s Home Being Returned to Her Family?

Savannah and Nancy Guthrie Courtesy of NBC News
On February 25, 2026, NBC News reported that Nancy Guthrie’s home, which has been treated as a crime scene since she was first reported missing, will be returned to her family.
While police haven’t revealed why they made the decision, former FBI Special Agent Bryanna Fox, who is not affiliated with the case, said on Today, “They feel like they’ve exhausted it in terms of every single piece of DNA, every piece of fiber, every single video camera.”
When Do Police Believe Nancy Guthrie Will Be Found?
Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos acknowledged to The New York Times on February 13, 2026, that nobody truly knows when Nancy Guthrie could be found.
“Maybe it’s an hour from now,” Nanos said of the search. “Maybe it’s weeks or months or years from now. But we won’t quit. We’re going to find Nancy. We’re going to find this guy.”
Anyone with information on Nancy’s disappearance is urged to contact 1-800-CALL-FBI or visit http://tips.fbi.gov

Jim Carrey Butt Birth Mechanical Rhino From ‘Ace Ventura’ Up For Auction
‘Ace Ventura’ Jim Carrey
Butt Birth Mechanical Rhino For $ale
Published
|
Updated
An iconic movie moment from the ’90s is hitting the auction block … it’s the mechanical rhinoceros that gave birth to Ace Ventura in a Jim Carrey sequel.
Yes, the butt birth rhino from “Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls” is up for grabs over at Propstore’s upcoming auction … with the movie prop expected to fetch between $4,000 and $8,000.
It’s the same rhino from the movie scenes where Ace is inside spying on some bad guys … before escaping through the rhino’s butt in a comedic exit.
The rhino measures in at more 10 feet long from tip to tail … and it’s got hydraulic hinges, a foam tail, padded interior chair, and a removable latex backside … like the one Ace was birthed from.
Plus, the rhino has the same prop fan from the movie … IYKYK.
The mechanical safari animal is made from fiberglass, and the legs are hard-coated Styrofoam … so it seems easier to transport than a real rhino.
“Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls” was a box office hit, raking in over $212 million … but it was also part of pop culture, with the rhino scene widely regarded as one of the funniest movie moments in the 1990s.
The auction starts March 27 … all righty then.

Nancy Guthrie SWAT Raid Targets’ Attorney Blasts Law Enforcement
Nancy Guthrie Case
Attorney Blasts Law Enforcement
… After 2 Clients Targeted in SWAT Raid
Published
An attorney for two people targeted in raids connected to Nancy Guthrie‘s disappearance is calling out law enforcement for going after his client … who he says has no involvement in the crime.
Attorney Chris Scileppi represents Luke Daley — the Arizona man who was the subject of two search warrants issued and served a couple weeks ago in connection to the Guthrie case — and, he tells TMZ he’s absolutely sure his client has no link to Nancy.
Daley and his mother were offended about being detained, Scileppi says … and their homes and vehicles were significantly damaged during the search.
Scileppi calls Nancy’s abduction a terrible crime … and, in investigating it, he says law enforcement is obligated to do so “in a manner that avoids casting aspersions on private citizens who have no connection whatsoever to the case.”
The Pima County Sheriff’s Department has repeatedly conducted well-publicized raids, Scileppi goes on … only to let the subjects go hours later without charges — and, these actions harm private citizens who are subjected to “rampant, unsubstantiated, and callous speculation driven by the public’s hunger for information.”
Scileppi argues these raids also make investigators look as though they’ve made no progress on their investigation. He say’s Luke hopes there will be a happy ending to the ordeal … and, he hopes the next target is someone who was actually involved.

2:12AM
Scileppi tells us he still doesn’t know what information led a judge to give cops a search warrant.
As you know … Nancy was last seen on January 31. Police have been searching diligently — and, we’ve passed along alleged ransom notes to cops when we’ve received them — but, they haven’t made much progress on the case.
A delivery driver named Carlos was also detained earlier this month … but, like Luke, he was released shortly after.
We reached out to the Pima County Sheriff’s Dept. for comment … so far, no word back.

Missing Texas Woman’s Truck Found on Fire Caused by ‘Arson,’ According to Police
As the search for missing woman Nicole “Nikki” Winder continues in Texas, police have revealed a major update in the case: Authorities said that shortly after she was last seen, Winder’s truck was found torched as a result of “arson.”
The Brazos County Sheriff’s Office said that Winder, 53, was last seen around 3 p.m. on Wednesday, February 25, in the 19000 block of FM 974 in Brazos County.
About an hour later, her white 2025 Chevy truck with black rims was located on fire about 2 miles away from where she had last been seen.
“Investigators believe the vehicle fire was the result of arson,” a sheriff’s office press release stated.
Despite confirming that the fire was started intentionally, police have not shared any theories about who may have set the car aflame.
“The Sheriff’s Office is asking residents in the area to review any available security or game camera footage for a vehicle matching this description traveling in the area between 3:00 p.m. and 4:15 p.m. on February 25, 2026,” the department wrote via Facebook on Thursday, February 26. “Anyone with relevant footage or information is urged to contact the Brazos County Sheriff’s Office immediately.”
A missing persons poster for Winder describes her as a white woman who stands 5-foot-7 and weighs approximately 130 pounds. Additionally, she has green eyes and blond hair. She was last seen wearing a dark grey shirt and pink pants, though it’s possible she might have changed outfits since she went missing.
“Authorities believe Nikki may be in danger of death or serious bodily injury, and her whereabouts are currently unknown,” the sheriff’s office added.
Police officers did not share any suspicions about why Winder may be missing or if she is believed to be with anyone else.
In order to help with the search, Texas Department of Public Safety issued a CLEAR Alert (Coordinated Law Enforcement Adult Rescue) to inform people to keep an eye out for her.
The CLEAR alert stands for the Coordinated Law Enforcement Adult Rescue (CLEAR) alert, according to NCT 9-1-1.
The specific type of alert was created to close the gap between missing children and senior citizens, who have their own alerts with AMBER and Silver alerts when reported missing.
The CLEAR alert intends to help law enforcement locate and rescue missing, kidnapped or abducted adults who are believed to be in immediate danger. Additionally, the alert is also sent out with the intention to help locate any potential suspects in the missing persons cases.
The name of the CLEAR alert honors victims of violence — Cayley Mandadi, D’Lisa Kelley, Erin Castro, Ashanti Billie and the “Rest” — which ultimately led to the CLEAR alert legislation that was passed in Texas in 2019.
Police are asking that anyone with information regarding Winder’s disappearance or whereabouts contact their local law enforcement agency or the Brazos County Sheriff’s Office at (979) 361-4900.
The search for Winder remains ongoing, and it’s crucial that anyone with information share those details with authorities immediately.

General Hospital: Willow Beyond Redemption – Has She Gone Too Far to Save?
General Hospital hints that Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) is even darker and more evil than we thought. At this point, I cannot see that there’s any chance, any way that she can ever be redeemed. This latest reveal that she’s in cahoots with Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) has pushed fans over the edge.
I want to talk about a few reasons why I think GH needs to just go ahead and kill off Drew Cain Quartermaine‘s (Cameron Mathison) rotten little wife. Once Willow is exposed, everybody’s going to hate her. And there seems no way to avoid that.
The Shocking Truth Behind Willow and Sidwell’s Secret Alliance on General Hospital
It was quite the shocker when Sidwell turned up to Willow’s and Drew’s house to make it clear to her that Willow will be taking her husband’s seat in Congress. When she made excuses about the kids, Sidwell shut it down and reminded her that her life, her freedom, her future, the kids, all of it are in his hands.
That left viewers scratching their heads for just a couple of minutes. Thankfully, General Hospital didn’t leave us hanging for long because then Sidwell, once he was alone, did his villainous monologue and absolutely horrified Drew with the dirty truth about his little wife.
Sidwell told him that because Drew was unhinged at the trial and had already been causing problems, he and Willow teamed up to take Drew down because he’s a liability to both of them. Sidwell said he supplied Willow with the drug that caused the stroke-like event that’s keeping him locked in.
General Hospital Spoilers: Drew Cain Held Prisoner as Willow Seizes Power
It was also fun to see Sidwell tell Drew, “By the way, Willow is going to be taking your seat in Congress.” He added that the nurses caring for him are on Sidwell’s payroll, so they’re not going to help him.
Sidwell also said if Drew tries to signal anybody like he did with that SOS message, then Sidwell will just go ahead and kill Drew. The blinky-blinkety may stop for at least a minute, but I don’t think for too long.
Related to this, we reported recently about a leak that there’s supposed to be two on-screen character deaths coming. That’s to differentiate them from the two off-screen deaths that are coming in the months ahead. Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) and Lesley Webber (Denise Alexander) are going to be written out off-screen since both actors have now passed away.
Will Willow Tait Be the Next Major Character Death on GH?
For these on-screen character deaths, the leaker said one in the Spring and another in the Summer. We’ve reported on another leak that the Sidwell and Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) storyline is supposed to wrap up by May, which should be the end of Sidwell and Cullum. And possibly also Marco Rios (Adrian Anchondo).
Based on recent conversations with Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and Jason Morgan (Steve Burton), I kind of feel like Sidwell might be the Spring death, but that means it would happen when Jason’s off-screen while Steve Burton’s on hiatus. It could be that Sonny has somebody else take Sidwell out, or Cullum takes Sidwell out. They might even take each other out.
The Summer death, which I assume is going to come in July sweeps, could be a possibility for General Hospital to kill off Willow. By then, surely everybody in Port Charles will know all the terrible things that she’s done.
Why Willow Tait is Irredeemable After Drugging Drew Cain Quartermaine
She’s been awful for a while, but what Willow is doing now with Sidwell is next-level unforgivable. We know from an interview with actress Katelyn MacMullen that when Willow’s exposed, it will be the worst moment of this character’s life.
Let’s get into a few reasons why Willow is so irredeemable that a lot of fans would just like to see her killed off on General Hospital. At the very least, she needs to be run out of town, her kids taken from her. And everybody turn their backs on her.
Reason number one that Willow should be killed off is for conspiring with Sidwell to put Drew into his locked-in state and keep him there as a prisoner. I know Willow feels justified because Drew has done so many terrible things to her. He controlled Willow, manipulated her. And weaponized her kids against Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson).
The Failed Plot to Frame Michael Corinthos for Attempted Murder on General Hospital
I did enjoy seeing her drug Drew into that fake stroke the same day she got her not-guilty verdict. Then Willow dropped the bombshell on Drew the day she brought him home from General Hospital that she shot him and put him into that locked-in paralyzed state.
Actor Cameron Mathison said he thinks Drew deserves all of this. And I agree. But Willow is still irredeemable because she’s conspiring with psycho Sidwell. Another reason to kill off Willow is she tried to pin Drew’s attempted murder on Michael.
She put Drew’s house key on Michael’s keyring right after he gave her a very fair 60/40 custody split that she didn’t deserve. It’s never enough for Willow. Those kids deserve better than her. And now she’s trying to take Michael from them, who is their one good parent.
Willow’s Cruel Manipulation of Detective Harrison Chase
Luckily for Michael, Willow’s sneaky little key move backfired. Now it looks like the PCPD is a little gun-shy to really investigate Michael because everything is compromised with Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) implicated in the planting of the key, even though he didn’t do it.
Another reason I think Willow is so irredeemable that she needs a dirt nap is because she’s done poor, sweet, dumb Chase so dirty and he doesn’t know it. Willow manipulated Chase into ruining his career for her. And she may yet ruin his marriage to Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) as well.
Chase promised Brook Lynn he would drop the Michael vendetta stuff to clear Willow’s name. But somehow I think Chase is going to backslide because he truly believes Willow is a victim who is kind and caring. If she ever was a good person before, she is certainly not anymore.

Betrayal and Infidelity: How Willow Threw Away Her Life with Michael on GH
Next, not that I think being unfaithful should get you the death penalty, but we have to count the fact she cheated on Michael and tore her family apart. She tore her kids’ lives apart basically for the heck of it because she couldn’t keep her hands out of Drew’s pants.
Remember when Willow took Wiley Quartermaine Corinthos (Viron Weaver) to D.C. for Drew’s inauguration and she didn’t tell Michael? That was really low. Willow had a wonderful marriage with Michael. He would have given her anything and everything, and he did. He was so good to her. And she threw it all away with barely a backwards glance.
The final reason I think Willow needs to die involves her children. Her believing Drew over Wiley was a dealbreaker. When Wiley told Willow that Drew said Michael didn’t want him anymore because he had new baby Daisy, she didn’t believe Wiley.
The Danger of the Dawn of Day Past and Willow’s Final Destination
Why would a little kid lie? She believed Drew instead. She always puts her faith in the wrong person. And now she’s put it in Sidwell. That is not going to go well. Plus, Willow continuously plays the victim card when she’s actually a villain.
This new scheme has put her kids in Sidwell’s crosshairs. He could target Wiley or Amelia Grace Corinthos (Sequoia and Serenity Mork Macko) to keep Willow in line. Maybe she’s just irretrievably broken from her years in Dawn of Day.
I honestly think prison is too good for her. I think the cemetery should be her final destination. But what do you think? Does Willow need to die?

Why Did Cassie Randolph Get a Restraining Order for Colton Underwood?
Colton Underwood‘s past relationship with Cassie Randolph — and her restraining order against him — resurfaced during his stint on The Traitors, but what actually happened between the exes?
Underwood’s love life became a topic of conversation on The Bachelorette when he joined Becca Kufrin’s season 14 in 2018. He later appeared on season 5 of Bachelor in Paradise before becoming the season 23 Bachelor lead in 2019.
The reality star formed a connection with Randolph that resulted in that iconic fence-jumping scene. Despite ending the show together, the couple didn’t get engaged but remained in a relationship for a year after The Bachelor.
After their split, Us Weekly confirmed in September 2020 that Randolph was granted a restraining order against Underwood. She claimed he was stalking and harassing her. The case was dropped in November 2020, and Underwood came out as gay the following year.
When Did Colton Underwood and Cassie Randolph Meet?

Colton Underwood and Cassie Randolph formed a connection on season 23 of The Bachelor, which premiered in January 2019. Randolph later told Underwood she loved him but wasn’t ready to be engaged, so she chose to leave the show. Underwood, meanwhile, was so upset that he jumped over a fence and tried to leave as well.
During the March 2019 finale, Underwood cut ties with the other women and went to Randolph’s hotel room to reconcile.
How Long Did Colton Underwood and Cassie Randolph Date?

After their time on The Bachelor came to an end, Colton Underwood and Cassie Randolph dated for over a year.
“It was a lot of changes, for sure, because we went from these more simple, more normal lives and then all of a sudden, we film a show and then you’re thrown into craziness where everyone is very hyperaware of everything that goes on in your life and your relationship,” Randolph told Us in October 2019 about adjusting to a romance in the public eye. “It was a little bit of a struggle at first, I think — like adjusting to everything. But I feel like now we’ve kind of gotten used to it and learned to balance everything a lot more.”
Underwood pointed out that the show helped them grow their relationship.
“I think you learn to communicate too,” he explained. “Just with whether it’s tabloids or someone speculating a certain thing or people reading into your body language, you know. You just learn how to communicate with each other and you’ll be on the same page with everything going on. … Nobody could ever prepare you for what life is like after that. Like, you can have people tell you all you want, like, ‘Oh, wait for this, wait for this.’ But until you’re in it, you don’t really get the full magnitude of it.”
When Did Colton Underwood and Cassie Randolph Break Up?

Colton Underwood and Cassie Randolph revealed via Instagram in May 2020 that they had decided to call it quits.
“Colton and I have broken up, but have decided to remain a part of each others lives. With all that we have gone through, we have a special bond that will always be there,” Randolph wrote at the time. “I love Colton very much and have an enormous amount of respect for him. We have both learned and grown so much these past couple years, and will always have each other’s back. Always.”
Why Did Cassie Randolph Request a Restraining Order Against Colton Underwood?
Following some public back-and-forth in the wake of their split, news broke in September 2020 that Cassie Randolph filed a restraining order against Colton Underwood, claiming he had planted a tracking device in her car, harassed her via text message and showed up uninvited to her apartment and her parents’ house after their breakup.
The order was granted, forcing Underwood to stay at least 100 yards away from Randolph. He was also ordered not to contact her.
Two months later, Underwood revealed that the case had been settled privately, and the restraining order was dropped.
How Did Colton Underwood Address the Scandal?

Colton Underwood broke his silence about his personal life when he came out on Good Morning America in April 2021. He claimed that he was previously very much in love with Cassie Randolph, which caused confusion and led to a tumultuous breakup.
“I’m sorry for any pain and emotional stress I caused,” he said. “I wish that it wouldn’t have happened the way that it did. I wish that I had been courageous enough to fix myself before I broke anybody else.”
Later that year, Underwood addressed the legal drama again on his Netflix docuseries, Coming Out Colton.
“I think that [the restraining order] was sort of a huge wake-up call. I’m sad that it even got to that point to where that had to be my wake-up call, and me affecting other people in my life was sort of the moment that I realized I had to come out,” he told Us in December 2021. “Obviously, I wish I would have had the courage to come out without having to be pushed.”
Randolph was asked to be part of the series, but she declined.
Has Cassie Randolph Said Anything About the Legal Drama?
Cassie Randolph, who has been married to Brighton Reinhardt since 2025, has remained largely tight-lipped about what happened with Colton Underwood. She made a rare comment in March 2022 on Kaitlyn Bristowe’s “Off the Vine” podcast, saying, “I haven’t talked about it, so it’s really hard for me to talk about it at all, or even know the right thing to say when addressing it. I feel so much pressure when asked about it that I would love to be able to be open and candid about things, but I’m just not there yet. I’m sure I will one day want to speak on it because there’s just a lot there.”
Randolph also claimed that her ex didn’t give her a heads-up that he was planning to come out on national TV. “I found out the same way that everyone else did,” she recalled. “I was actually in Mexico on vacation with friends. … But yeah, I found out, I think, through Snapchat on GMA. It was horrible. It was just, like, a shocking kind of feeling. ”
Later that year, Randolph issued a message to Underwood.
“I’m very happy that he is … at peace with himself and not carrying that burden anymore, of course,” Randolph said on an October 2022 episode of the “Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous” podcast. “It was a very, just, overall hard time for me, so I feel like there was just one thing after another and I was just extremely overwhelmed with everything going on.”
Why Was Colton Underwood’s Past With Cassie Randolph Revisited?

Colton Underwood appeared on season 4 of The Traitors in early 2026, which led to backlash from viewers who knew about his issues with Cassie Randolph.
“I met with production. I met with Peacock. I was like, ‘I’m down to do this.’ Because this show is about strategy. It is about the game. It is about traitors. It is not personal,” he explained to Vanity Fair in February 2026 about trying to keep the narrative off the show. “My only ask is, like, if I do this, I don’t want people to bring up anything outside of the game. I have a family now, right? I’m … so far past what happened six years ago.”
Underwood addressed what happened with Randolph at the reunion after not discussing it during the season.
“I think what I can understand from people viewing me back on television, if you didn’t follow my story and what I went through, and you watched me as the Bachelor in 2019, and then, all of a sudden, you’re tuning in in 2026,” he said. “I had an incredibly difficult couple of years, and I’ve grown, I’ve changed. I’ve put in so much work into myself and to my family. I never really thought the way that I would show up and play Traitors would be linked to one of the darkest and most horrible moments of my life.”
Have Colton Underwood and Cassie Randolph Spoken Since the Restraining Order Was Dropped?
“I have no contact. If she ever did reach out or want to reach out, I would be open to answering any questions that her or her family would have for me,” Colton Underwood told Vanity Fair in February 2026. “That is something I’ve always offered. I’m in no position to really say much more than that or reach out. There’s been no part of me that would. I would always be up for it. It’s all on her terms.”
Underwood reflected on what led to the messy breakup.
“It was 2020. It was, as people remember, COVID. I was fully convinced that she was gonna be my last straight … like, I was going to have to either kill myself or come out. That’s just transparently, like, where my mindset was,” he elaborated. “I don’t know if this is the right phrase, but it was somewhat of the perfect storm of me hitting rock bottom, of me really trying to navigate, ‘Am I gonna kill myself or am I gonna come out?’ That’s just where I was at.”
Underwood, who is now married to husband Jordan C. Brown, also revealed he was being blackmailed about his sexuality at the time and was “struggling with Xanax and prescription medications.”
“It was a pretty intense moment in my life where I made some really, really poor decisions. The difficult part now is seeing the people who have a lot to say about what happened six years ago,” he noted. “It’s lacking a lot of the context of where our world was at, but also where I was at, the state of mind that I was in.”
Underwood continued: “The pressures and the threats that I was going through. I will always take accountability. I will always own mistakes that I made. But everything that you’re seeing on social media — these videos, these people who have a lot to say — is not correct.”
