You Think Wuthering Heights Is Odd? 4 Strangest Book-to-Movie Adaptations Ever, Ranked
Emerald Fennell‘s new Wuthering Heights movie is dividing critics right now.
Many books have gone on to receive loose adaptations for the silver screen, and Fennell’s take on Emily Brönte’s novel seems to be among them. Critics can’t agree on whether the shocking horniness, campy flair and vast diversions from the book are good or bad.
While we’ll let you decide on that for yourselves, Watch With Us takes a look back on some of the weirder movie adaptations of books.
From nightmare-inducing children’s book reimagining to odd interpretations of a Dickens classic, we ranked the four strangest book-to-movie adaptations ever.
4. ‘Dune’ (1984)
Before Denis Villeneuve directed two Oscar-nominated adaptations of Frank Herbert’s 1965 science fiction novel, Twin Peaks creator David Lynch took a crack at adapting it back in 1984. This was the art-house director’s big, bold move into the mainstream after his financial and critical success with The Elephant Man. Of course, the director of Eraserhead wasn’t going to give audiences another Star Wars, which is what executive producer Dino De Laurentiis wanted. Thus, the already strange story of giant worms, magic spice, corpulent, floating dictators and psychic witches was given a somewhat Lynchian treatment.
Sting plays a sexy sociopath clad in a Speedo, while most of the many, many monologues from all the characters are whispered rather than spoken. There’s also a mutated being that sits in a giant tank, grotesque heart plugs that the Harkonnens wear like it’s the latest fashion trend from Milan and a weirdo child (Alicia Witt who acts like she’s already lived a thousand years. Unfortunately, Lynch’s creative decisions and diversions from the source material forced his Dune to endure extensive cuts, which hacked the theatrical release down and created more distance from Lynch’s intended vision. It’s to the extent that Lynch publicly disowned the film and even removed his name or changed it to a pseudonym in the credits of certain releases. While Dune 1984 has established a cult following, it’s still quite divisive.
3. ‘The Hobbit’ trilogy (2012-2014)
Maybe it’s hyperbolic to claim, but Peter Jackson‘s three-film adaptation of the short children’s story prequel to The Lord of the Rings should go down as one of the worst decisions in filmmaking history. Jackson created a global pop culture phenomenon with his early 2000s adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien’s famous fantasy trilogy, with each novel getting its own film shot back-to-back with the other in sequence. When it was revealed that The Hobbit would finally receive a live-action movie treatment too, the announcement stated that it would be split into two films directed by Guillermo del Toro. Then, del Toro exited due to delays and creative differences, and the production ballooned into three films, with original LOTR director Jackson at the helm.
As is the reason for turning every single-book story into multiple parts, turning the simple, 300-page The Hobbit into three extremely long movies was obviously done out of greed, not out of respect for preserving the dignity and beauty of the story. Instead, The Hobbit became three weird, bloated spectacles. There is ultimately so much wrong with all three The Hobbit movies that it would take longer than this short list to get into it all, but things like adding a pointless love triangle subplot with Legolas (Orlando Bloom), making the overarching antagonist not be Smaug (Benedict Cumberbatch), heavy usage of overtly fake-looking CGI and unnecessary sidelining of Bilbo (Martin Freeman), the main character. Of course, perhaps The Hobbit films most unforgivable sin is how unbelievably boring it is.
2. ‘Ghosts of Girlfriends Past’ (2009)
What if we remade Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol (again) and we made it about a womanizing bachelor (Matthew McConaughey) who is visited by the spirits of his ex-girlfriends (who are still alive) to teach him a lesson about how to be a real lover? Perfect, that sounds amazing — here is $40 million to make it happen. That is essentially the premise of Ghosts of Girlfriends Past, which adapts Dickens’ novella about a miserly, isolated old man who is visited by three spirits on Christmas Eve and learns to appreciate life and everyone in it.
Instead, there’s no Christmas, no figgy pudding, no Tiny Tim or spirits covered in giant chains, and Matthew McConaughey learns about the value of monogamy and gets Jennifer Garner to fall in love with him. It’s likely that never in a million years did Dickens think his Victorian-era novel would be turned into a romantic comedy in which ghostly Michael Douglas (who portrays a version of the original character of Jacob Marley) tries to hit on the Ghost of Girlfriends Past (Emma Stone) who appears as a 16-year-old girl. In any event, Ghosts of Girlfriends Past is funnier than it has any right to be, and it’s certainly a creative take on a story that has gotten too many adaptations to count.
1. ‘The Cat in the Hat’ (2003)
Unlike the live-action version of Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas — which, despite being a crime against nature, has somehow managed to remain a Christmas classic in the nostalgic minds of some Millennials — the film adaptation of The Cat in the Hat still endures as an ill-conceived nightmare and one of the first dominoes to fall in Mike Myers‘ diminishing career. In the beloved children’s story of The Cat in the Hat, the titular Cat is a chaotic figure, but ultimately a source of fun and pleasure for the children he visits, played by Dakota Fanning and Spencer Breslin in the film.
In Bo Welch‘s The Cat in the Hat, the Cat (Myers) is a wicked demon imp. To its credit, the movie does a great job at embracing Seussian aesthetics, with colorful, creative production design, costumes, sets and cinematography. It’s just a shame that everything else (script, characters, dialogue, acting, a pervasive feeling of dread and despair) makes the movie so borderline unwatchable. Alec Baldwin wears a girdle, the fish is entirely CGI, Thing One and Thing Two are creepy as hell and there’s far too much weird, double-entendre humor for a children’s movie.

Conan O’Brien Shares Rob Reiner Oscars Tribute Will Be ‘Very Powerful’
Conan O’Brien shared a glimpse into how late director Rob Reiner will be honored at this year’s Academy Awards, though he didn’t reveal any details. Each year, the Oscars pay tribute to those in the industry who have passed, celebrating their contributions to film and entertainment.
Conan O’Brien Did Not Disclose Details Of The Tribute

O’Brien, the host of the 2026 Academy Awards, is gearing up for the 2026 Oscars, which will take place on March 15. On March 11, Extra caught up with the comedian as he helped roll out the red carpet days ahead of the ceremony.
O’Brien was asked about the tribute to Reiner, to which he replied, “It would be hard to sum up in this environment… I think it would be inappropriate,” referring to the hectic scene with cameras, reporters, and people moving around. However, he did offer a bit of information, saying, “It’s gonna be a very powerful part of the show.”
The comedian and Reiner had been long-time friends, and O’Brien was one of the few people who last saw the director and his wife before their untimely deaths in December 2025.
Conan O’Brien’s Second Time Hosting The Oscars
This year’s Academy Awards will be O’Brien’s second time hosting. His hosting gig in last year’s ceremony garnered a high viewership, prompting his return to the Oscars stage.
The host started coming up with ideas a while ago and even started testing out jokes in comedy clubs. As he told Extra, he had “a lot of fun” hosting last year’s Oscars and wanted to do it again. “The movies this year have been insane. It was such a great year for movies that I’m excited to be even a small part of it,” he explained.
O’Brien teased that he and his team of writers have been working on “more ambitious” ideas for the show, and if it doesn’t land, he jokingly said he could just “skip town if I have to and lay low for a while.”
The Oscars In Memoriam Segment Will Be Longer

The Oscars started honoring deceased entertainment industry members at the Oscars in 1994, and as the producers shared, this year will have a longer segment.
Producer Katy Mullan told Variety that it has been “an incredibly tough year of losses,” and they are extending the segment to take the time in honoring each person. “So many titans have passed away, and there are so many people who care so deeply for a lot of the people we’ll be tributing and honoring,” she explained.
Apart from Reiner, others who have passed in the last year include Diane Keaton, Robert Duvall, Robert Redford, and Val Kilmer.
“It’s a chance for people to say goodbye. It’s a chance for them to see some of their favorite people one more time, and it’s a memory. We don’t take it lightly,” Mullan said.
Inside The Deaths Of Rob And Michele Reiner

On December 14, 2025, Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer, were found deceased in their Los Angeles home, riddled with stab wounds. Their son, Nick, was later arrested for the crime.
Less than 24 hours before the murders, the Reiners and Nick attended O’Brien’s holiday party. As previously reported by The Blast, Nick interacted with some celebrity guests and asked them strange questions.
Nick is currently being held without bail in a Los Angeles correctional facility. He was charged with two counts of first-degree murder and has pleaded not guilty. He is scheduled to go back in court on April 19.
Conan O’Brien Spoke Out About The Reiners

In a February interview with The New Yorker, O’Brien broke his silence on the deaths of his dear friends. The comedian said he and his wife were close to the Reiners, whom he described as “such lovely people.”
As for their passing, O’Brien had difficulty processing the bad news. “To have that experience of saying good night to somebody and having them leave and then find out the next day that they’re gone… I think I was in shock for quite a while afterward,” O’Brien said, adding that he had no words for what he felt.
In March, O’Brien also addressed the fact that his name was associated with Reiner and his wife’s deaths because they were last seen in public at his party. “Very simply, we had a party, we invited our really good friends, and then, the next day, this terrible thing happened,” he told The Hollywood Reporter.
The comedian said that whatever “difficulties” he experienced amid the reporting of his friends’ murders, it was nothing compared to the tragedy Reiner’s family is facing. “There’s only sadness that they’re gone,” he added.

20 Years Later, This Controversial Casting Choice Still Defines a Sci-Fi Masterpiece
With Peacock’s long-gestating Battlestar Galactica reboot no longer moving forward, it’s worth looking back at the version that actually worked. There are few better arguments for the merit of rebooting a television show than Ronald D. Moore’s acclaimed reimagining of the sci-fi franchise. While the original series of the same name from 1978 was certainly a fun, Star Wars-related space adventure, it retained little more than a cult following after being cancelled after its first season.
Compared with the original Battlestar Galactica, the rebooted series developed a far richer, more expansive universe that addressed modern themes, including the war on terror, political corruption, and fears of artificial intelligence. Best of all, the reboot series created new and dynamic characters that made it all the more compelling; there wasn’t another hero in Battlestar Galactica whose arc was more satisfying overall than Katee Sackhoff’s Lieutenant Kate Thrace.
Set in the distant future, Battlestar Galactica is centered on the crew of the titular spacecraft as it searches for a new home for mankind. The last established civilization of humanity, known as the Twelve Colonies, was destroyed in a critical attack by the Cylons, a malevolent group of man-made androids. While there is tension between the new President Laura Roslin (Mary McDonnell) and the military Commander William Adama (Edward James Olmos), the fleet is reliant on brave pilots like Thrace, who goes by the callsign “Starbuck.” The boldness of Sackhoff’s casting was very beneficial to Battlestar Galactica, ensuring its place among the greatest television dramas of all time.
Katee Sackhoff’s ‘Battlestar Galactica’ Casting Earned Backlash
Although Moore’s reboot drew some inspiration from the original 1978 series, the two shows were unique in their narrative complexity. While some characters were brought back and reinterpreted, they were only similar in name. The original Battlestar Galactica featured Dirk Benedict as Lieutenant Starbuck, a womanizing fighter pilot who could be compared to Harrison Ford’s Han Solo in the Star Wars franchise. Battlestar Galactica had already been hit with comparisons to George Lucas’ space opera; in order to differentiate the two, Moore decided that “making Starbuck a woman was a way of avoiding” what” he “felt would be ‘rogue pilot with a heart of gold’ cliché.’”
Many characters from the original Battlestar Galactica were radically changed from the original series; while the 1978 shows featured John Colicos as an entirely malevolent version of Gaius Baltar, James Callis turned the character into a somewhat sympathetic, far less competent anti-hero. However, Sackhoff’s casting was met with backlash from those who opposed the gender swapping of Starbuck. Benedict himself even chimed in, posting a tirade expressing his dismay that “Starbuck would go the way of most men in today’s society.” Unfortunately, Benedict’s opinion was shared by many of the show’s doubters; Sackhoff was booed during her first appearance promoting the show at the 2004 Comic Con in San Diego and even received some death threats prior to the show’s airing.
Although Moore was insistent that the gender swap was essential to distinguish the new series, Sackhoff wasn’t the first choice to play Starbuck. Moore revealed that the show’s producers were originally looking for an actress in her mid-30s who had a tough demeanor, as they wanted someone who had believable military experience. However, it was Sackhoff’s acting ability that ultimately won them over; Moore stated that Sackhoff “auditioned for the role along with many other actresses, and simply blew them all away,” admitting that they were “lucky” that she agreed to play the role.
Starbuck Became a Fan-Favorite Hero in ‘Battlestar Galactica’
Starbuck was quickly established as one of Battlestar Galactica’s most complex characters. Like many of the Galactica’s pilots, Starbuck is brave to a fault; she’s willing to put herself in danger for the sake of her crew and consistently goes on risky missions in an attempt to cheat death. While her hot-headed personality added energy to the series, there was a deeper reason for Starbuck’s erratic personality; she is still grieving the loss of Zak Adama (Tobias Mehler), her secret fiancé, as well as a pilot under her command whose death hangs over her. This speaks to Starbuck’s selflessness; although she isn’t as interested in the political machinations in the fleet, she is completely loyal to those who serve alongside her. Starbuck’s empathy becomes more powerful in later seasons that reveal her backstory as an abused child.
Starbuck’s relationship with the Adama family is among the show’s most profound dynamics; despite her involvement with Zak’s death, Kara begins to develop romantic feelings for his brother, Lee (Jamie Bamber). It’s a romance that’s doomed from the start, as both characters end up finding different romantic partners in the aftermath of the occupation by Cylon forces in the third season. However, their on-again, off-again affair indicated that the two couldn’t deny their feelings for each other; similarly, Bill Adama comes to view Starbuck as a daughter, giving her important guidance over the course of the series.
Katee Sackhoff’s Performance Succeeded Even When ‘Battlestar Galactica’ Didn’t
Despite the acclaim that the series received in its initial seasons, Battlestar Galactica declined in quality, significantly thwarting Starbuck’s story arc. Her romantic relationship with Samuel Anders (Michael Trucco) grew much more compelling, particularly upon the revelation that he was one of the “Final Five” Cylons hidden within the fleet. Unfortunately, Starbuck’s strange departure and miraculous recovery made for an uneven storyline that didn’t reflect her trajectory up until that point. Nonetheless, Sackhoff certainly committed to the material; her emotional performance almost made these strange plot twists tolerable.
While it could be said that Battlestar Galactica ended on a disappointing note, Sackhoff has since become an icon in multiple sci-fi franchises. After voicing the character Bo-Katan Kryze on Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Sackhoff was able to portray the live-action version in The Mandalorian’s second and third seasons. She also delivered a scene-stealing performance alongside Vin Diesel in the sci-fi sequel Riddick.
Battlestar Galactica is streaming on Prime Video in the U.S.

Britney Spears Son Jayden Seen Driving Her Mercedes
Britney Spears has reportedly been leaning on family support following her recent DUI arrest.
This week, her son Jayden Federline was spotted visiting her and driving her Mercedes convertible after leaving her Thousand Oaks home.
The sighting comes as the pop icon navigates renewed scrutiny and reconnects with loved ones during a difficult moment.
Britney Spears’s Son Jayden Visits Her After Arrest

Britney Spears’ younger son, Jayden Federline, appeared to be spending time with his mother after her recent legal troubles.
The Daily Mail reported that the 19-year-old was seen leaving Britney’s Thousand Oaks mansion on Thursday while driving her Mercedes convertible.
Jayden looked serious as he pulled away from the property, marking one of several recent visits.
Observers also noticed that Jayden had changed up his look. During his Christmas visit months earlier, he had sported a more rugged appearance, but this time he was clean-shaven with a shorter haircut.
The visit suggests the singer may be turning to family support following her shocking DUI arrest earlier this month.
Jayden had already been spotted driving the same convertible over the weekend, indicating he may have been staying with his mother for several days.
Spears Turns To Family For Support

The sighting comes during a difficult period for Britney Spears, who has reportedly been reconnecting with family members after her arrest.
According to TMZ, her mother, Lynne Spears, reached out shortly after learning what had happened.
Sources claimed Lynne called her daughter as soon as the news broke, by which point Britney had already been released from custody.
Police reportedly stated that the singer was allegedly “under the influence of drugs and alcohol” when she was pulled over.
Family insiders also told the outlet that Spears spoke with both of her sons after returning home.
Jayden and his older brother, Sean Federline, 20, moved to Hawaii with their father, Kevin Federline, in 2023.
While Jayden has now visited his mother, it remains unclear if Sean has been able to stop by.
Sean reportedly missed a Christmas reunion with Spears last year due to work commitments in Louisiana.
Concerns Grow About Britney Spears’ Well-Being

Although Britney received a small bit of good news when authorities decided her mugshot did not meet the criteria for public release, concerns about her health and safety remain.
According to TMZ, the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office made the decision not to release the photo.
Despite that development, insiders say the situation surrounding the singer is serious.
One source told the Daily Mail that the incident has created circumstances that are now “life or death.”
Those close to the singer are reportedly hoping family connections will help stabilize the situation.
Britney’s Relationship With Her Mother Has Been Complicated

The renewed contact between Britney Spears and her mother comes after years of public tension between the two.
Family insiders said Lynne Spears wanted to make it clear she supports her daughter and is willing to help in any way needed. According to the sources, their conversation after the arrest was described as “positive” and “hopeful.”
However, the relationship between mother and daughter has been complicated for years.
A source previously told Page Six in September that “Their relationship is very fragile.”
That same source also said, “[Lynne] reaches out to Britney for the most part,” adding that the two “talk and text every few weeks.”
At the time, the insider claimed there were no immediate plans for the pair to reunite in person.
Their relationship reached a particularly painful moment in 2021, when Britney spoke publicly about her family during the fight to end her conservatorship.
“I will never get those years back,” Britney said, before claiming that her mother had “secretly ruined my life.”
Despite those harsh words, reports now suggest their relationship has been slowly improving.
According to TMZ’s family sources, the two have actually been on good terms since they reunited in May 2023.
Although they reportedly have not seen each other face-to-face in more than two years, the sources say they continue to speak regularly on the phone.
Britney Spears Finds Comfort In Time With Her Sons

Over the years, Britney has shared a particularly close bond with her two sons.
Jayden’s visit this week is not the first time he has traveled to see his mother. In December, Spears excitedly revealed that he came to visit her for Christmas.
At the time, she celebrated the reunion in a series of enthusiastic Instagram posts.
A source told PEOPLE Magazine that “Britney had a fun time celebrating Christmas with Jayden,” adding that it had “been such a special holiday” for the singer.
Sean was unable to join that gathering due to work obligations. However, he was reportedly able to spend the holiday with family members, including his aunt Jamie Lynn Spears and grandmother Lynne.
Britney shares both Sean and Jayden with her former husband, Kevin Federline. The couple married in 2004 before divorcing in 2007.

The First 5 Minutes Of One Piece Season 2 Is Peak Aura Farming
By Jonathan Klotz
| Published

If there’s one thing anime has always been able to do better than any other medium, it’s making new characters look like the most dangerous, most powerful, and above all, the coolest, part of the story. Aura farming is what it’s referred to when someone is intentionally trying to look like the coolest person in the room, but anime fans have known about it for years as simply “new character introduction.”
One Piece Season 2: Into the Grand Line keeps the anime trend alive with the introduction of Miss All Sunday and her effortless takedown of a group of Marines while oozing confidence. If you needed a visual as to what aura farming is, this is it.
One Piece Live Action Nails The Anime Character Intro Trope

Miss All Sunday is played by Lera Abova, in only her second series role after Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin, which in any other anime adaptation would be cause for alarm among fans. Someone with that little experience attempting to bring a fan-favorite character to life could be a disaster, and yet, Oda, creator of One Piece, selected the entire cast. He knew what he was doing. The character, powered by the Flower-Flower Devil Fruit, has the ability to spawn duplicates of her limbs on any other surface. Within 20 seconds, the live-action series lets her show what happens when this nightmarish power is unleashed.
Fittingly considering Abova’s background, Miss All Sunday treats the Marine-filled corridor as a fashion runway. Bright pink flower petals are a gorgeous harbinger of arms sprouting out of soldiers and forcing them to stab and shoot themselves, which again, is truly horrifying to think about. The thing is that One Piece makes it look so damn cool.
One Piece Gets The Little Things Right

For decades, the gold standard for live-action adaptations of powers that are super cool in print has been Nightcrawler (Alan Cumming) in the opening scene of X-2. The German mutant’s teleportation is on full display as he easily rips through the Secret Service and is only stopped from assassinating the President thanks to a lucky shot. The only part of his powers that can’t come across in that opening scene is the smell of brimstone.
The first season of One Piece is the greatest live-action anime adaptation of all time, and Season 2 is picking right up where it left off. Miss All Sunday’s introduction may seem like a small moment in the grand scheme of the series, but this is the type of sequence that makes the series feel like a live-action version of the anime and not another Dragonball Evolution. Getting the little things right, from Luffy’s infectious smile to the bizarre outfits of everyday citizens, and even the aura farming character introductions, has to be done to win over the fans of the original.

One Piece Season 2: Into the Grand Line has only been out for a few days now, and if you’re binging, you know there’s a lot more of Miss All Sunday to come, and anime/manga fans, well, they know the treat ahead in Season 3. If the series can nail Miss All Sunday’s introduction and powers like this, then how awesome will the Warlords of the Seven Seas be? Will the series even get to Blackbeard?
One Piece Season 2, streaming on Netflix, has raised the bar for anime fans, and all it took to prove it was one 60-second walk down a hallway.

Southern Hospitality’s Grace Lilly Arrested on Drug Charge
Southern Hospitality star Grace Lilly was arrested on a drug possession charge on Tuesday, March 10.
Online court records viewed by Us Weekly show that Lilly, 27, was booked in Charleston County, South Carolina, and charged with possession of a controlled substance. According to the South Carolina Judicial Branch, the charge is a misdemeanor offense in the state.
Lilly was bailed out on a personal recognizance bond set at $10,575.
The reality television star is due in court on May 1 for an initial appearance in connection with her arrest. A second appearance is set for August 21.
Us Weekly has reached out to Lilly and Bravo for comment.
Lilly’s latest run-in with the law comes after she was arrested for harassment in December 2025.
Us confirmed that Lilly was booked in Charleston on December 29 in connection with an arrest warrant for a second-degree harassment charge. She was pulled over at a gas station the previous day after allegedly changing lanes illegally.
Police said that Lilly had “happy pills” in her possession at the time of her arrest.
“Inside the purse, a small container with ‘Happy Pills’ imprinted on the top was located, which contained 12 circular white pills with a ‘P’ imprint on one side, and half of an oblong blue pill with no identifiable imprints,” said a police report. “When asked about the pills found inside the purse, the offender stated that the blue pill was Xanax and the white pills were birth control. The offender stated she had a prescription for the Xanax but did not have any proof of that information available at the time.”
According to the report, Lilly said she didn’t know the brand of the birth control. The pills were seized and sent for testing, with the incident being labeled on the police report as a “drugs/narcotics violation.”
Lilly has been a cast member on Southern Hospitality since it premiered in 2022. The show is a spinoff of longstanding Bravo hit Southern Charm and follows the staff of Leva Bonaparte’s Republic nightclub in Charleston. The show’s fourth season premiered March 4 and is currently airing on Bravo.
“We see them all around,” Lilly said of the Southern Charm cast in an exclusive interview with Us in December 2022. “They’ve all been really nice. I mean, the only person that’s been a little dismissive is Austen [Kroll], but whatever.”

Kylie Jenner Reveals Interest In Acting Career

Kylie Jenner recently signaled that she may be ready to pursue a new path in entertainment.
The 28-year-old entrepreneur and reality television star shared her interest in acting during a recent interview with Vanity Fair.
According to Jenner, scripts have already begun landing on her desk as she considers expanding her career beyond business and reality television.
“I’ve actually gotten a few scripts, nothing that I feel is right yet, but I 100 percent want to do more,” Jenner said.
She also revealed the type of role she would most enjoy exploring on screen, noting, “I really like comedy. I think I’m good at it. Maybe next time I talk to you, I’ll be the lead of an action movie!”
Jenner recently made a brief on-screen appearance as herself in “The Moment,” a mockumentary centered on British pop star Charli XCX and her BRAT era tour. The film premiered earlier this year at the Sundance Film Festival.
Hollywood Insiders Question Kylie Jenner’s Acting Plans

While Jenner may be enthusiastic about acting, not everyone in Hollywood is convinced she will succeed.
One insider speaking to the Daily Mail suggested that the beauty mogul may face significant challenges if she wants to be taken seriously as an actress.
According to the source, “Many are laughing at the Vanity Fair interview.”
The same insider added that skepticism extends particularly to Jenner’s interest in comedic roles.
They said, “If she thinks she is going to be an actress, especially in comedy films, the joke is actually on her.”
Industry insiders believe Jenner’s existing fame may open doors, but they also suggest those opportunities could come with limitations.
The source claimed Jenner “will get some stuff sent her way due to her connection to Chalamet, and whatever people like [producer] Ryan Murphy will throw at her,” though they suggested those roles may not be major ones.
Instead, the insider predicted Jenner could appear in smaller parts or guest appearances that offer publicity value.
They said she may “fill a small part or guest star so some project gets the ‘Kardashian social media bump.’”
Kylie Jenner Compared To Sister Kim Kardashian’s Acting Debut

The insider also drew a comparison between Jenner’s potential acting career and her sister Kim Kardashian’s earlier attempt to break into film.
Kim appeared in the 2008 parody “Disaster Movie,” which was widely criticized at the time.
“Look, her sister Kim was in the comedy spoof Disaster Movie. If Kylie were to do something, it would be a real-life disaster movie,” the insider said.
They continued by suggesting that casting directors may hesitate to give Jenner larger roles in major productions.
“She has a very big hill to climb to prove she is worthy,” the source added.
Despite the criticism, Jenner’s growing presence in Hollywood circles suggests she remains determined to pursue new opportunities.
Timothee Chalamet’s Relationship Adds Hollywood Spotlight

Kris Jenner’s relationship with Oscar nominee Timothee Chalamet has also brought her deeper into Hollywood’s spotlight.
The couple has been romantically linked since 2023 and have frequently appeared together throughout the recent awards season.
Chalamet received major recognition for his performance in “Marty Supreme,” earning nominations and wins during the early months of the awards circuit.
While accepting a major award earlier this year, he publicly acknowledged Jenner in a heartfelt moment.
“Lastly, I’ll just say, thank you to my partner of three years,” he said during his speech.
He continued his tribute by adding, “Thank you for our foundation. I couldn’t do this without you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
Jenner, who was seated in the audience during the speech, responded by resting her chin on her hands and mouthing a quiet message to him, “I love you.”
The couple is expected to appear together again at the upcoming Academy Awards ceremony.
Oscar Race Drama Could Impact Hollywood Perception

Timothee Chalamet currently finds himself in a tight Best Actor race ahead of the Oscars.
He is competing against a strong group of nominees, including Michael B. Jordan, Leonardo DiCaprio, Ethan Hawke, and Wagner Moura.
The competition intensified after Jordan recently won at the Actor Awards, formerly known as the SAG Awards, shifting momentum in the category.
Meanwhile, Chalamet also faced controversy after comments he made about the arts community sparked backlash. He had remarked that “no one cares” about ballet or opera, which drew criticism from some industry voices.
Another insider told the Daily Mail that Kylie Jenner’s presence in Chalamet’s life may also influence how some voters view him.
The source explained that “in Hollywood, it’s the person you are and who you’ll become that is important.”
They added that certain members of Hollywood’s elite remain wary of the Kardashian family’s influence in the entertainment world.
“And the voters of Hollywood’s elite don’t ever want the Kardashian family to infiltrate the Academy Awards,” the source said. “To see him win and then possibly see the Oscar statue on Keeping Up with the Kardashians would be sort of embarrassing.”
Even with the criticism circulating behind the scenes, Kylie Jenner appears determined to keep expanding her brand and exploring new opportunities, whether Hollywood is ready or not.

Sutton Stracke Responds To Lisa Rinna’s Body Shaming
Season 15 of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” is ongoing, with the cast expected to film the reunion soon. However, in the meantime, Sutton Stracke is not only adapting to her recent legal name change, but she’s also responding to Lisa Rinna. This comes after the former “RHOBH” co-star body shamed Stracke in her new book, “You Better Believe I’m Gonna Talk About It.”
Sutton Stracke Doesn’t Care What Lisa Rinna Said About Her

Stracke appeared on the “Housewives Nightcap” podcast in March 2026. While on, the host mentioned Rinna’s book and how she’d written “some pretty interesting things” about the “RHOBH” star in it. When asked for her reaction, she said, “I didn’t have a reaction.”
Stracke continued, “I didn’t have a reaction. Like, who cares? I don’t care.” After that, the podcast host said, “That’s your reaction: ‘Who cares.’ Nothing can bother our zin, Sutton.” Stracke then said, “I mean, you know, why, it’s not going to bother me.”
What Did Lisa Rinna Say About Her Former ‘RHOBH’ Co-Star

Rinna released her newest book, “You Better Believe I’m Gonna Talk About It,” on February 24. In it, she spoke openly about her career as an actress, her time on “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” and her difficult relationship with Andy Cohen, including her reaction to him featuring her text messages in his book.
In addition to discussing her time on “RHOBH,” Rinna also spoke candidly about many of her former co-stars. According toSutton’s Roller on X, she wrote on Stracke, “I’m happy to drag Sutton. She’s frumpy, there’s no sex appeal about her whatsoever, and she’s got a weird body. So god bless her.”
Following the comments going viral, Kyle Richards defended her fellow “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star. While hosting an Amazon Live session, she responded to a fan who asked for her take. Richards said in the clip, “Not nice. I mean, you know, people have feelings. It doesn’t matter who you are, what you do. We’re all human, and we all have feelings, and I think it’s better not to comment on people’s bodies.”
She added, “And Sutton’s beautiful.”
Fans Think The Comment Bothered Sutton

Following Stracke’s comments, “RHOBH” fans took to the video’s comments section to both defend her and wonder whether she actually did care what Rinna wrote. One person said, “You can see on her face that she cares. But we’re all team Sutton. Rinna was wrong for 90% of that book.”
Another fan said, “Sutton is a stunning lady, and criticism on different bodies is yuck.” A different Instagram user wrote, “Rinna literally has a daughter who openly talked about body dysmorphia and having an eating disorder, and then publicly attacks other women for their bodies. Great parenting!”
Lastly, someone else stated, “Not buying it…she cares.”
Stracke Recently Addressed Her Friendship With Garcelle Beauvais

Garcelle Beauvais appeared on five seasons of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” and became quite close with Stracke. However, she departed the series following the season 14 reunion, ending things on a sour note with her now former friend. This has led many fans to doubt that they were ever really close.
Stracke interviewed with Bravo’s “The Daily Dish” in December 2025 about where they stand after Beauvais publicly said the friendship was over. She said, “Yeah, it’s a lot of questions about Garcelle from cast members, and [the] press, and my friends, and the world. I have been a little taken aback by it.”
The “RHOBH” star then shared that she had reached out, saying, “Well, I’ve told her a lot in text messages, including many apologies. I just said, you know, ‘I’m just not sure for what, but help me understand what I’ve done in this friendship. So it’s a shame that we didn’t get to have a one-on-one conversation.”
Per Bravo, Beauvais said on “Watch What Happens Live” that she ended the friendship because Stracke didn’t support her. Saying, “Not only did she not have my back, she also, when she called me, never took accountability for it.”
The ‘Housewives’ Star Recently Changed Her Last Name

Stracke has opened up during season 15 of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” about her ex-husband requesting an annulment through the Catholic church, prompting her to begin using the surname “Brown” in her real life.
According to Bravo, she said in 2025, “After Christmas, I really decided to do Sutton Brown. There were some things that went on that I just disagreed with.” She later revealed that her full legal name was Sutton Brown Stracke and that she planned to drop the name Stracke.
She has also stated on the “RHOBH” after-show that, “It feels very young to be Sutton Brown, because I was young the last time I was Sutton Brown. It feels like a second lease on life.”
