Splurge Monday’s Workwear Report: Colette High-Rise Crepe Bias Pant
This post may contain affiliate links and Corporette® may earn commissions for purchases made through links in this post. As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases.
Our daily workwear reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices.
I’ve been looking for the perfect pair of burgundy pants to wear this fall, and think I may have struck gold with these crepe pants from Vince. I love a crepe fabric for a comfy but still pulled-together office look, and as someone who gave up wearing heels to the office years ago, the 31” inseam is perfect for me to wear with flats.
I think these would look lovely with a camel blazer, but I’m trying to branch out into some more adventurous color combinations, so I’m planning to try them out with a pale pink sweater or a fuchsia blouse.
The pants are $368 at Vince and come in sizes XXS-XL. They also come in four other colors.

Every Outfit I Wore in August
Outfit Details: Valentino Jacket (old, similar here and here), Doen Tank, High Sport Pants, Sherman Field Necklaces, Jamie Haller Wedges, Hermes Bag (similar, less expensive here)
August began in Gstaad, where one week became nearly two once we decided to stay instead of continuing to Vienna. I had packed with a sportier mood in mind, but the best looks came from what happened after staying longer, when color, layers, and practical pieces started feeling more lived-in. A knit over stripes, a scarf tucked close, sneakers carrying everything from hikes into town to long lunches.
By month’s end, Charleston meant school again, though summer lingered. Layers came off, but color followed home in dresses, shorts, skirts, and richer prints, pointing toward September in Daily Looks.

Cardi B Wore Meji Meji and Vintage Dior in Her New “A Ha” Music Video
Cardi B is back with a new music video for her single “A Ha,” and as always, the styling is just as much of a moment as the song itself. Shot on a rain-drenched New York street, the video finds Cardi surrounded by a crew of dancers as she serves look after look in the downpour.

For one striking scene, Cardi wears a cutout mesh halter top layered over a graphic tank featuring an illustrated portrait, paired with a chain-link belt slung over blue high-waisted bottoms — a mix of pieces from Meji Meji, the Lagos-born, New York-raised brand founded by designer Tolu Oye.

Meji Meji describes itself as an Afrocentric label redefining Black style through storytelling, nostalgia, and culture, drawing on vintage African-American style, West African textile patterns, and the rhythms of Nollywood and Juju music. The brand has built its identity as what Oye calls “a living archive,” with each design functioning like a stamp in time pulled from family albums, vintage prints, and postcards.
Elsewhere in the video, Cardi incorporates vintage Dior into the wardrobe rotation, blending high fashion archival pieces with Meji Meji’s culturally rich, nostalgic aesthetic for a look that feels both elevated and rooted in heritage.

Quality Checks to Carry-out When Buying Branded Workwear
Branded workwear can have a big impact on how people perceive your business. It will often be the first thing that prospective and current customers notice when they meet one of your employees, and it’s important that you manage that perception as best you possibly can. There are a few basic quality checks that you […]

Weekend Open Thread: Maeve – Corporette.com
This post may contain affiliate links and Corporette® may earn commissions for purchases made through links in this post. As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases.
Something on your mind? Chat about it here.
I recently bought these Maeve pants from Anthro, and I have to say they’re one of my favorite recent purchases. The trick is that they’re a knit, so they’re actually like a sweatpant material instead of a stiff denim. They’re ridiculously comfortable, and I love that they came in petites so I didn’t have to get them hemmed.
(Pro tip: size down, they run on the bigger side.)
They come in a huge range of sizes, including sizes 23-34, 23P-34P, and 16W-26W. (Tall sizes are down to lucky sizes, unfortunately.) The Colette cut is one of the most popular pants at Anthropologie, and we recently picked it in our updated roundup to the best wide leg pants.
The pictured knit denim pants are $96-$128 right now.
(Of course they are far from the first to have sweatpant denim — the rag & bone Miramar jeans have been hugely popular for that lately!)
