Former First Lady Michelle Obama attended the 25th anniversary commemoration of the September 11 attacks at the National September 11 Memorial & Museum alongside her husband, former President Barack Obama.

For the occasion, she wore a brown Ferragamo leather-trim jersey maxi dress. The design featured distinctive leather detailing along the neckline and sleeves.

A Practical Guide to Choosing Wedding Rings as a Couple
Choosing wedding rings often feels more practical than choosing an engagement ring, because both of you need to live with the result every day. A ring can look appealing in a display case yet feel awkward once you start cooking or working with your hands. Your preferences may also differ, which means you don’t need […]

Something on your mind? Chat about it here.
I am impatiently waiting for fall so I can wear this sweater I got in the NAS! When I tried it on, my first thought was, this is the perfect thing to wear to parent/teacher events with jeans — it’s buttoned up, it’s chic, it’s a little professional but not weirdly so — and yet every parent meeting we’ve had this year has been in full heat.
(Sure, yes, it doesn’t help that I apparently forgot most of these events are in August and September — but I’m all set for the February ones!)
I really do think this is a great sweater jacket and can’t wait to wear it more. I got it in the black, but this ivory looks like another great basic — and I’m seeing a ton of winter white blazers/lady jackets for fall so this will fit right in. I also like that it’s 100% merino wool.
All three colors of the sweater are on sale, but ivory has the most sizes left — the sweater was $179, but is now marked down to $107. (The burgundy one (which we featured in our roundup of THE blazer shape for fall) is even lower at $89, but there are only smaller sizes left.)

Frugal Friday’s Workwear Report: Faux Leather A-Line Maxi Skirt
This post may contain affiliate links and Corporette® may earn commissions for purchases made through links in this post. As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases.
Our daily workwear reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices.
Leather (or faux leather) in the office can be a bit controversial, but the general consensus around these parts is that it can work if the styling is right. This A-line maxi skirt from Vince Camuto is a classic shape, and with a conservative top and accessories, I think it would be perfect for almost any office.
I would probably go for a feminine blouse in a silky fabric to balance things out, like this bow-neck blouse from Ann Taylor. Sadly, it doesn’t seem like this skirt is available in petites, so unless you’re willing to spend quite a bit on alterations, this is going to be for the taller folks only!
The skirt is $39.97 at Nordstrom Rack and comes in sizes S-XL. It also comes in navy and merlot.
