Owner Shiva Gautam has one of the most acclaimed wine lists in Ireland and has amassed an impressive array of awards over the years from Wine Spectator and Star Wine List.

Monty’s has been a local haunt among Ireland’s wine professionals, with eager eyes lusting over the extensive list, hoping to unearth a hidden gem. Now, Shiva has transformed the restaurant’s lower floor into a wine bar, ideal for a pre-dinner drink or an after-work tipple. The new wine bar is also the perfect place to test your wine knowledge with an interactive blind tasting game. Think you can tell your Merlot from your Malbec, or perhaps there is a budding sommelier in your group? Whether you’re a seasoned wine enthusiast or simply curious, the experience is designed to make discovering wine both engaging and enjoyable.

Monty’s also welcomes groups interested in taking on the blind tasting challenge, making it an ideal activity for birthdays, corporate gatherings and celebrations. Pair your wine with nibbles such as cheese, olives and almonds, or indulge in Nepas (Nepali tapas) like Tareko Jhinga Macha (deep-fried prawns), Sag Chat (crispy spinach with tamarind chutney and yoghurt dressing), or Chuso Ko Lollypop (barbeque chicken lollipops). No visit to Monty’s is complete without trying their famous momos, traditional Nepalese dumplings.
