Zendaya’s Black Ashi Studio Ruffle Gown Steals the Spotlight at “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” LA Premiere + Interviews and All the Looks from the Carpet
Stars turned out in Los Angeles for the premiere of “Spider-Man: Brand New Day,” bringing a mix of drama, color, and playful nods to the film itself.
Zendaya commanded the blue carpet in a black Ashi Studio gown, its plunging neckline balanced by a dramatic ruffled train that unfurled like a shadow behind her. Boucheron earrings and Christian Louboutin spider adorned pumps added the final glint of drama, with styling by Luxury Law bringing the moody, spider-inspired energy full circle.
Tom Holland kept it sharp and unexpected in a burgundy Jacquemus suit, trading the usual black-tie uniform for a bold pop of color that stood out against the premiere’s night sky backdrop.
Sadie Sink brought quiet polish in custom Prada, styled by Molly Dickson — a slip dress in ice-colored silk satin, embellished with baguette crystal topstitch embroidery.
Michael B. Jordan showed his fan credentials in a white Spider-Man graphic tee and black trousers, a playful nod to the night’s leading man.
Check out some interviews Fashion Bomb Daily conducted on the scene with Keith Lee and Ronni Lee, along with Kordell and Serena Page:
Between Zendaya’s gothic glamour, Tom’s color play, and Michael B. Jordan’s easy fan-boy charm, the “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” LA premiere proved that great style, like a great web, comes in more than one shape.

What Small Choices Help You Reduce Decision Fatigue?

President Obama was famous for preferring navy or gray suits in order to reduce decision fatigue, and we talked about it a lot back then — but I don’t think we’ve discussed it in more recent years! Readers, I’d love to hear all those little choices you’ve made with the goal (or result) of reducing decision fatigue.
We got into this a bit with our discussion of executive functioning skills, as well as my suggestions over the years to have a “default outfit” for work for days when you’re exhausted or overwhelmed in other areas, and recently discussed micro-habits for workdays like leaving a quick note on your desk at the end of the day with your top 3 priorities for tomorrow so that Morning You doesn’t have to think about it.
Super small choices I’ve made that reduce decision fatigue for me include things like these:
Morning Routines
- I put on workout clothes first thing in the morning when it’s time to take my kid to school – I don’t have to fuss over what to wear and I’m already in clothes for when it’s time to work out.
- I sometimes vary my makeup (particularly eye shadow and lips) but otherwise I tend to use the exact same things every day. I do this with skincare also — I feel like part of my problem whenever I try to add a new serum or something to the routine is that it forces me to reexamine the rest of the routine. I hadn’t thought about that as forcing me to make a decision but it’s so much easier to stick with my peptides + Vitamin C + moisturizer + sunscreen routine in the morning.
Money
- I pay all of the bills on one day of the month, and have ones that are the exact same amount every month set to autopay
- I think readers here (Senior Attorney?) have advised to “trust the Costco buyers” and I’ve used that a lot for bigger purchases where I might have otherwise gotten research paralysis (television, laptop, a new mattress)
- I’ve written a lot about my automated savings and automated investing — it took a bit of time to set up in the beginning but now it’s something I don’t even have to think about, and can adjust up or down easily as needed.
Other
- I try to schedule follow-up appointments when leaving the appointment (it also helps my general dislike of the telephone!)
- I tend to eat a pretty repetitive diet for breakfast and lunch
- I check the Corporette analytics once a month, and not any time else
- (I guess one of the things I like about romance novels is that they’re usually written in a series, so there’s an easy decision for what to read next!)
Some of this comes down to habits, too — I try to go to the gym immediately after school drop-off so that it has to be a choice to not go, but I suppose in addition to tricking my brain and removing willpower I’m also taking away the need to make a decision. When am I going to the gym? After school drop-off.
Habit stacking is another tool I use a lot, and I suppose it also comes down to eliminating decision fatigue. For example, I try to do small exercises like squats while brushing my teeth or applying skincare things.
(Another example here, albeit one that I don’t do — repeating vacations is a great way to reduce decision fatigue. One of my girlfriends does this — she and her family had a great time at a specific resort a while back and now every year she books that same resort early. She saves money and doesn’t have to think too hard about where/what/when to go.
Looking at my lists, some of these eliminate choices (default outfit, default breakfast) — whereas others eliminate reconsidering choices (like what goes where in my skincare routine).
Readers, what decisions have you made once so you don’t have to keep making them? What defaults, routines, subscriptions, or habits have meaningfully reduced the number of little decisions you make every day?

From Beauty to Biohacking: How Wellness Is Reshaping the Modern Self-Care Routine

The wellness revolution has transformed how we approach self-care, evolving far beyond traditional beauty routines into a comprehensive lifestyle philosophy that merges science, technology, and ancient wisdom. Today’s wellness enthusiasts aren’t just seeking glowing skin – they’re optimizing their entire biological systems through targeted nutrition, advanced supplementation, and data-driven health strategies. Smart shoppers are discovering that platforms like Wizza make this wellness journey more affordable, offering exclusive discounts on premium health and beauty products, including a Glow Aminos discount code for those looking to enhance their natural radiance with amino acid supplements. Whether you’re exploring targeted supplementation or diving deep into personalized biohacking protocols, the modern self-care landscape offers unprecedented opportunities to elevate your health and vitality.
The Evolution of Self-Care: From Vanity to Vitality
The journey from traditional beauty routines to comprehensive wellness practices reflects a fundamental shift in how we understand health. Where previous generations focused primarily on external appearance through skincare and cosmetics, today’s wellness warriors recognize that true beauty emanates from cellular health, hormonal balance, and optimal nutrition.
This evolution didn’t happen overnight. The 1980s and 1990s saw the rise of fitness culture and spa treatments, but these remained largely separate from daily health practices. The 2000s introduced yoga and meditation to mainstream culture, while the 2010s brought the clean eating movement and mindfulness practices. Now, in the 2020s, we’re witnessing the convergence of all these elements into a holistic approach that treats the body as an interconnected system.
Modern self-care acknowledges that glowing skin starts with gut health, that mental clarity depends on quality sleep, and that physical performance requires strategic recovery. This interconnected understanding has given rise to biohacking – the practice of making incremental changes to optimize your biology for peak performance.
Understanding Biohacking: Science Meets Self-Optimization
Biohacking represents the intersection of biology and technology, where individuals use scientific principles to enhance their physical and mental capabilities. Unlike traditional wellness approaches that often rely on generalized advice, biohacking emphasizes personalization based on individual biomarkers, genetics, and lifestyle factors.
At its core, biohacking involves tracking, testing, and optimizing various biological systems. This might include monitoring blood glucose levels to understand metabolic responses, tracking heart rate variability to assess stress and recovery, or analyzing sleep patterns to improve cognitive function. The goal isn’t just to feel better – it’s to function at your absolute best.
The biohacking movement has democratized access to tools and techniques once reserved for elite athletes and medical professionals. Continuous glucose monitors, once exclusively for diabetics, now help wellness enthusiasts optimize their diet. Infrared saunas, originally used in medical settings, have become home wellness staples. This accessibility has transformed biohacking from a fringe movement into a mainstream wellness practice.
Key Wellness Trends Reshaping Modern Routines
Personalized Nutrition and Supplementation
The one-size-fits-all approach to nutrition is becoming obsolete. Today’s wellness enthusiasts use genetic testing, microbiome analysis, and blood work to create personalized nutrition plans. This data-driven approach extends to supplementation, where targeted nutrients address specific deficiencies and goals rather than relying on generic multivitamins.
Amino acid supplementation has emerged as a cornerstone of this personalized approach, supporting everything from muscle recovery to skin health. The focus has shifted from simply consuming protein to understanding how specific amino acids influence collagen production, neurotransmitter synthesis, and cellular repair processes.
Recovery and Sleep Optimization
Recovery has evolved from passive rest to active optimization. Modern wellness routines incorporate techniques like cold therapy, compression therapy, and targeted stretching protocols to accelerate recovery and enhance performance. Sleep optimization has become equally sophisticated, with individuals tracking sleep stages, adjusting room temperature, and using specialized lighting to regulate circadian rhythms.
The emphasis on recovery reflects a broader understanding that growth and improvement happen during rest periods, not just during activity. This has led to the rise of recovery-focused businesses and products, from specialized mattresses to recovery lounges offering various therapeutic modalities.
Mental Wellness and Cognitive Enhancement
Mental wellness has moved from the periphery to the center of self-care routines. Meditation apps, breathwork practices, and stress management techniques are now considered essential components of a comprehensive wellness strategy. Beyond basic stress reduction, many are exploring cognitive enhancement through nootropics, brain training exercises, and neuroplasticity practices.
The integration of mental wellness into daily routines reflects growing awareness of the mind-body connection. Chronic stress doesn’t just affect mood – it impacts immune function, hormonal balance, and cellular aging. By prioritizing mental wellness, individuals address root causes rather than just symptoms.
Technology’s Role in the Wellness Revolution
Technology has become the great enabler of the modern wellness movement. Wearable devices provide real-time feedback on everything from heart rate variability to sleep quality, allowing individuals to make immediate adjustments to their routines. Apps offer personalized workout plans, meditation guidance, and nutrition tracking, making expert-level wellness coaching accessible to everyone.
Artificial intelligence and machine learning are taking personalization to new heights. AI-powered platforms analyze vast amounts of health data to provide individualized recommendations, predict potential health issues, and optimize wellness protocols. Virtual reality is creating immersive meditation experiences, while augmented reality helps perfect exercise form.
The integration of technology hasn’t replaced human intuition and traditional practices – it’s enhanced them. By combining ancient wisdom with modern science and technology, today’s wellness practitioners can achieve results that were previously impossible.
Building Your Personalized Wellness Stack
Creating an effective wellness routine requires thoughtful integration of various practices and tools. Start by identifying your primary health goals – whether that’s improved energy, better sleep, enhanced cognitive function, or optimal physical performance. From there, build a “stack” of complementary practices that work synergistically.
Your morning routine might include meditation, cold exposure, and targeted supplementation. Midday could involve movement practices and mindful eating. Evening routines might focus on recovery techniques, sleep preparation, and reflection. The key is consistency and gradual optimization based on how your body responds.
Remember that Wizza offers various wellness and health product discounts that can make building your wellness stack more affordable. From supplements to fitness equipment, finding the right deals can help you invest in your health without breaking the budget.
Track your progress using both subjective measures (how you feel) and objective data (biomarkers, performance metrics). This dual approach ensures you’re not just following trends but creating a routine that genuinely enhances your wellbeing.
The Future of Wellness: Trends on the Horizon
The wellness industry continues to evolve rapidly, with several exciting trends emerging. Longevity science is moving from laboratories to living rooms, with protocols designed to slow aging and extend healthspan becoming mainstream. Psychedelic-assisted therapy is showing promise for mental health treatment, potentially revolutionizing how we approach psychological wellness.
Regenerative medicine, including stem cell therapy and peptide protocols, is becoming more accessible, offering new possibilities for healing and optimization. Environmental wellness is gaining attention, with individuals optimizing their living spaces for health through air quality monitoring, electromagnetic field reduction, and biophilic design.
The integration of wellness into workplace culture is accelerating, with companies recognizing that employee wellbeing directly impacts productivity and innovation. This shift is creating new opportunities for wellness professionals and driving demand for corporate wellness solutions.
Navigating the Wellness Landscape: Practical Tips
With so many options available, navigating the wellness landscape can feel overwhelming. Start small and focus on fundamentals – quality sleep, proper nutrition, regular movement, and stress management form the foundation of any effective wellness routine. Once these basics are established, you can explore more advanced techniques.
Be skeptical of quick fixes and miracle cures. Legitimate wellness practices are backed by science and show consistent, gradual improvements rather than overnight transformations. Research products and practices thoroughly, looking for peer-reviewed studies and expert endorsements rather than just testimonials.
Budget wisely for your wellness journey. While some biohacking tools and treatments can be expensive, many effective practices cost little or nothing. Walking in nature, practicing breathwork, and optimizing sleep hygiene are free yet powerful wellness tools. When you do invest in products or services, look for value and quality rather than just following trends.
Creating Sustainable Wellness Habits
The ultimate goal of any wellness routine is sustainability. The most sophisticated biohacking protocol is worthless if you can’t maintain it over the long term. Focus on building habits gradually, adding one new practice at a time until it becomes automatic before introducing another.
Create systems that support your wellness goals. Meal prep on Sundays, schedule workout times like appointments, and set up your environment to encourage healthy choices. The easier you make healthy behaviors, the more likely they are to stick.
Remember that wellness is a journey, not a destination. Your needs and goals will evolve, and your routine should adapt accordingly. What works in your twenties might not serve you in your forties. Stay curious, keep learning, and be willing to adjust your approach as you gain experience and your body changes.
Embracing the Wellness Revolution
The transformation from beauty-focused self-care to comprehensive wellness and biohacking represents more than just a trend – it’s a fundamental shift in how we approach health and human potential. By combining ancient wisdom with cutting-edge science, leveraging technology while honoring intuition, and personalizing our approach to individual needs, we’re entering an era of unprecedented opportunity to optimize our health and well-being.
Whether you’re just beginning your wellness journey or you’re a seasoned biohacker, remember that the goal isn’t perfection – it’s progress. Each small improvement in sleep quality, each mindful meal, each recovery session contributes to a larger transformation. The modern self-care routine isn’t about following someone else’s blueprint; it’s about discovering what makes you feel vibrant, energized, and fully alive.
As the wellness landscape continues to evolve, stay open to new possibilities while remaining grounded in proven practices. The future of wellness is bright, personalized, and accessible to everyone willing to invest in their health. Your journey to optimal wellbeing starts with a single step – why not take it today?

The Best Kids’ Leather Shoe Companies (and What Makes Them Worth It)

Photo by Liv Lee on Unsplash
When it comes to dressing children well, shoes are often the piece parents agonise over most, and for good reason. Kids are tough on footwear, their feet grow constantly, and cheap shoes tend to look tired almost immediately. Real leather shoes solve much of this, offering style and durability that synthetic alternatives simply cannot match. But not all kids’ shoe companies are created equal, so we have rounded up the names worth knowing, starting with a standout, along with what separates the best from the rest.
Perroquet Shoes
Leading the pack is Perroquet Shoes, a brand that has built a devoted following for all the right reasons. Perroquet specialises in kids’ leather shoes crafted from top-quality materials, with a range that spans classic styles like oxfords, penny loafers, moccasins, wingtips, and mary janes for both boys and girls, plus adorable options for babies. These are shoes designed to look polished at a wedding, holiday, or special occasion, yet sturdy enough to survive daily school wear.
What earns Perroquet its loyalty is the balance it strikes. The shoes are genuinely durable, built to withstand active kids rather than falling apart after light use, while the real leather uppers keep them looking sharp far longer than typical children’s footwear. Comfortable interiors mean kids can wear them for hours without complaint, which any parent knows is half the battle, and strong soles handle running rather than just standing still. For families who want dress-worthy shoes that still function as everyday footwear, and in a genuinely beautiful range of styles and colours, it is a hard combination to beat. That mix of craftsmanship, comfort, and classic design is exactly why Perroquet sits at the top of this list.
What makes a great kids’ leather shoe company
Before running through the other names, it helps to know what to look for, because the same qualities separate the best brands across the board. Genuine leather is the starting point, since it breathes, moulds to the foot, and keeps its shape and polish far longer than plastic-based materials. Craftsmanship comes next: careful construction, sturdy stitching, and quality soles that survive real play.
Comfort is the third pillar, because even the most beautiful shoe is useless if a child refuses to wear it, so the best companies design supportive, cushioned interiors. Finally, the top brands offer real range, covering everything from formal dress shoes to everyday styles, so parents can find the right pair for school, celebrations, and weekends alike. Judge any company against these standards and the strong ones quickly reveal themselves.
Other leading kids’ leather shoe companies
Perroquet is far from the only company doing kids’ leather shoes well. Several other brands have earned strong reputations, each with its own particular strengths.
Start-Rite
One of the oldest names in children’s footwear, Start-Rite has been making shoes for generations and is especially well known for classic school shoes. The brand leans on heritage craftsmanship and a strong focus on proper fit, offering a wide range of width fittings that appeal to parents who prioritise a precise, supportive shoe.
Naturino
This Italian brand is synonymous with European styling and quality leather. Naturino shoes tend to combine fashion-forward designs with soft, premium materials, making them a favourite for parents who want their kids’ footwear to feel a little more elevated and boutique.
Pediped
Pediped built its name on comfort and foot-friendly design, with flexible soles aimed at supporting developing feet. The brand spans everything from first walkers to bigger kids, and its emphasis on natural movement makes it a go-to for parents focused on healthy foot development.
Old Soles
Known for its trendy, of-the-moment designs, Old Soles delivers leather shoes with a distinctly fashionable edge. The brand is popular with parents who want something a bit different, offering bold colours and contemporary styling alongside solid leather construction.
See Kai Run
See Kai Run focuses on quality materials and sensible, kid-friendly design, with a strong reputation for everyday wearability. The brand’s leather styles are built to handle real life, striking a nice balance between looking good and standing up to the daily demands of childhood.
Elephantito
For dressier occasions, Elephantito offers refined leather shoes with a polished, special-occasion feel. The brand is a frequent choice for weddings, parties, and holidays, delivering elegant designs that still hold up to a child’s energy.
How to choose the right pair for your child
With so many good options, a few practical considerations help narrow things down. Start with the occasion, since a formal event calls for polished dress shoes while daily wear demands something that can take a beating. Consider fit carefully, leaving room for growth without sacrificing security, and check it regularly as your child’s feet change.
Material and construction should guide the final decision. Real leather and solid soles cost a little more upfront but typically outlast several pairs of cheaper shoes, making them the smarter buy over time. And do not overlook your child’s own comfort and input, because a shoe they actually like is a shoe they will actually wear.
Investing in quality that lasts
Choosing kids’ leather shoes is ultimately an investment in both style and practicality. The best companies deliver footwear that looks refined, survives the rigours of childhood, and keeps little feet comfortable throughout, which is exactly what busy families need. Rather than cycling through disposable pairs, a single well-made set of leather shoes earns its keep across countless outings.
Whether you are drawn to a beloved specialist like Perroquet or one of the other quality names on this list, the guiding principle stays the same. Prioritise genuine materials, thoughtful construction, and a proper fit, and you will find shoes that look wonderful and last, turning one of parenting’s small headaches into an easy, confident choice.

Tuesday’s Workwear Report: The Ara Jersey Midi Skirt
This post may contain affiliate links and Corporette® may earn commissions for purchases made through links in this post. As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases.
Our daily workwear reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices.
A breezy jersey skirt is just the ticket for a steamy July commute. This gorgeous number from M.M.LaFleur looks flowy but still put-together enough for officewear. I would add a short-sleeved sweater or a sleeveless blouse (if that’s acceptable for your office) for the summer and layer on a blazer when the weather gets cooler.
The “abstract bluebird” print is my favorite, but it also comes in seven other prints.
The skirt is $249 at M.M.LaFleur (with some prints on sale for $174) and comes in sizes XS-XXL.
Sales of note for 7/19:

Outfit Details: Eterne Halter, Doen Skirt, Gabriela Hearst Sandals, Zimmermann Scarf, Retrosuperfuture Sunglasses
The pieces I buy in multiples are the ones I’ve tried and tested and keep coming back to. I know I love them, I know they work, and I know they earn their place, so I buy them again in a different color, or a stripe instead of a solid. Every version unlocks a new variety of outfits, whether it’s a weekend away or a slow day at home, and each one brings a little freshness to what I already own.
Rubirosa Shirt (similar here), Eterne Tank, Libertine Shorts, Chanel Bag, Odissi Flats,
A foundation piece doesn’t have to be boring, or something that lives at the back of the closet. For me it has to hold its own: a cotton tank with some shape, a white skirt that looks right with sandals and with a dressier flat, a striped shirt that reads casual and comfortable but still crisp. I can keep adding versions because each one shifts the outfit a little, and suddenly the dependable pieces are the ones making everything else more fun to wear.
Cotton Poplin Shirt
A classic white shirt is a crisp foundation piece that pairs effortlessly with everything from denim to tailoring.
Ribbed Cotton Tank
A refined essential tank in a vibrant hue that anchors endless warm-weather looks.
