Everyone knows the importance of sleep for your health and mood, but hitting a specific number of hours each night can also transform your skin.
Experts shared how sleeping more can naturally boost collagen and help you to look years younger.
Aiming for seven to nine hours per night can make all the difference, according to beauty expert Maria Jones.
However, research from Haypp showed 35 per cent of Britons sleep for less than six hours per night. Upping this could drastically improve the youthfulness of your skin.

Maria explained: “Sleep has deservedly earned the nickname of nature’s most powerful beauty remedy.
“While you sleep, your body undergoes major repairs, including an enhanced level of collagen production along with lessened inflammation – essential ingredients for youthful, healthy-looking skin.”
Collagen is a protein that contributes to the elasticity, and therefore youthfulness, of skin’s appearance.
Indeed, a study in the Archives of Dermatological Research suggested that sleep deprivation accelerates skin ageing and reduces collagen production.
Therefore, sleeping more could lead to better-looking skin. Aiming for quality sleep is also important.
Maria continued: “Chronic sleep deprivation will disturb this process, causing premature wrinkling, loss of firmness, and increasing sensitivity.
“As an expert, I would say to invest in good sleep hygiene. After all, it’s one of the cheapest ways to keep not just your skin, but you, young.”
