DJ wants to bring big names to Bolton Wanderers Stadium

» DJ wants to bring big names to Bolton Wanderers Stadium

Following the huge success of P!NK performing at the stadium in 2023, Andrew Gidney wants the town to capitalise on Bolton Wanderers Stadium as a  venue.

The 39, from The Haulgh has many shows lined up this summer in the Bolton Wanderers Stadium.

Along with Andrew Rawson he’s created the company Cultured Arts to bring the music back to the town.

Jax Jones, the best-selling DJ behind hits such as Where Did You Go? and Never Be Lonely, will be heading one of these gigs on Sunday, May 4.

Andrew said: “I want to make Bolton great again because it used to be one of the hottest spots in England but now the whole town is running on fumes.

“Why is Manchester thriving, but Bolton is suffering?”

Andrew said the football club and stadium stands as a symbol of the town, and so is the best place to start this revival.

He said: “Bolton Wanderers is a renowned football club, if you compare us to anyone else in the same league.

“Since the new owners have taken over, they’ve put us back in the world’s eyes.”

Andrew said it’s time to start putting big events on in the stadium like there used to be.

He said: “I want more entertainment in the stadium that puts us in the same league as Tottenham Hotspur or Manchester United.”

He used the Anthony Joshua and Oleksandr Usyk fight held in the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as an example of where he thinks the stadium could be.

Andrew said: “I’ve been a Bolton fan since I was six years-old and I’m nearly 40 now.

“I wanted to put something big on and the place that comes to mind is the Bolton Wanderers Stadium.

He has been involved with dance music, both as a DJ and organiser, since he was 16 and has run events in Amsterdam, Budapest and Ibiza.

Andrew performs as a DJ under the name Aggz and will also be performing at the gig in May as part of Hott Like Detroit.

Cultured Arts hosted a gig in the Toughsheet Stadium in September, called Sub Culture Live, but he’s hoping to go bigger and better.

The gig in May will be held in the stadium’s premier suite which can hold up to 4,000 people – but Andrew has his sights on the pitch next.

He said: “Bolton being such a big town, who knows where we can take it if we have the people of Bolton behind us?”

The lineup for the gig includes Jax Jones, Badger, Ellie Sax, Hott Like Detroit, Lippy and more and tickets can be bought for £16.75 on skiddle.com.

It will be on Sunday, May 4, 2025 from 7pm until 2am at the Toughsheet Community Stadium with an official after party in Level Nightclub.

Blue badge holders, NHS workers and ex-service members can get tickets for free.
