Used by two million drivers across the UK, Evology brings parking, pre-booking and electric vehicle charging together through technology developed by its in-house team.

The partnership reflects Evology’s long-term commitment to Bolton, where the company already operates parking across numerous locations throughout the town, including the Toughsheet Community Stadium, Royal Bolton Hospital and other key destinations.

Supporters are already experiencing the benefits of Evology’s technology on matchdays. Whether pre-booking parking in advance or paying through the app on arrival, fans can skip payment machine queues, while EV drivers can also recharge through the Evology Charging network.

As one of the UK’s fastest-growing parking apps, Evology sees the partnership as an opportunity to introduce more local drivers to a simpler way to park, while continuing to invest in services that improve everyday travel across Bolton.

Adrian Cunliffe, Chief Product Officer at Evology, said: “Putting our name on the back of the Bolton Wanderers shirt is only part of the story. Bolton is already an important town for Evology and this partnership reflects our commitment to investing in communities where our technology makes a real difference.

“Every day, people use Evology to park for work, healthcare, shopping and football. Supporting Bolton Wanderers helps us reach even more people while reinforcing what we’re all about – making everyday journeys easier through simple, reliable technology.

“We’re proud to be growing quickly as a business, but we want that growth to go hand in hand with supporting the communities we operate in. We hope supporters see Evology as more than a logo on a shirt. We want to become a trusted part of life in Bolton.”

Carl Sanderson, Head of Commercial at Bolton Wanderers, said: “Evology has already become an important part of the supporter experience through its parking platform and EV charging infrastructure, so this partnership is about much more than branding.

“They share our commitment to the local community and are investing in services that make life easier for supporters. We’re delighted to have them alongside us as we begin our Championship campaign.”

Bolton Wanderers supporter Adam Taylor, from Leyland said: “Match days are always busy, so being able to sort my parking through the Evology app takes one less thing off my mind. I don’t have to queue at a payment machine and can just get on with enjoying the day – whether that’s grabbing some food or meeting friends before the game.

“It’s brilliant to see a company that’s already making the matchday experience easier making a long-term commitment to Bolton Wanderers and the wider community.”

The Evology app is available on the Apple App Store and Google Play.

The new shirts are available to buy online and at the BWFC Club Shop at the Toughsheet Community Stadium.

Urgent warning to parents after deleted photos used to build creepy profiles of children

Published

on

Daily Mirror

One mum took to social media to share a sweet video of her daughter with friends, but was left uncomfortable after realising that an AI prompt had appeared alongside it

A mum has issued a warning to fellow parents over artificial intelligence after she shared an adorable video of her daughter online.

US content creator Kalie Robins took to social media platform Instagram to issue a public warning after she posted a “completely innocent video” of her and her daughter. Robins was driving along with one of her daughters in the back seat of her car last week, the two of them singing a song together.

But, after she posted the cute clip to her socials, Facebook placed a rather startling Meta AI question underneath the video.

For those unfamiliar with the term, a Meta AI question is an automated or contextual prompts that are generated by Meta’s artificial intelligence on its platforms – for example, Instagram and Facebook – when analysing user posts. It also shows the queries users directly type into Meta AI across its apps to find out more information regarding a subject related to the post.

Content cannot be displayed without consent

On this particular video, the deeply concerning question read: “Who’s the child passenger?”

Alarmed as to why the platform would offer the question as an option, Robins decided to test out the prompt by clicking it.

What happened next was every parent’s worst nightmare. A series of follow-up prompts left her feeling “uncomfortable”, before the AI bot began to pull “completely separate information for each of my kids.”

The horrified mum watched on as Meta began to build separate profiles of each of her children, with details that allegedly included their names, birth details, and even a newborn picture of one of her kids that had been shared via her mother’s social media accounts several years ago.

The AI then used current and past data to pinpoint her location. In her follow up clip, she said: “I didn’t ask Facebook to build a profile of my family. I posted a video of me singing in the car with my kid.”

“I know that this picture has not been sitting on my page for years,” she said.

Her Instagram warning has since gone viral, racking up millions of views and more than 13 thousand comments sharing their alarm, disgust, and their own warnings.

One user said: “Do we all need to go back to using a camera and having the pictures developed?”

A second said: “This is exactly why my kids refuse to allow my granddaughter’s image on social media.”

While a third chimed in with: “It’s telling you not to post pictures or videos of your kids online. It’s telling you bad people can do exactly the same thing,” a third warned.

Her experience is one cybersecurity experts have been warning parents about for years.

One former child abuse detective Kristi McVee believes that AI is making the internet more of a risk to kids than it’s ever been before.

The Australian expert said: “AI has created an online environment which requires us, as the parents, to think further than ‘who’ we have as our friends or followers on our social media. It’s no longer about what images we share of our children, because an innocent photo or some very innocuous personal information like our child winning a school award, can be misused by predatory individuals.”

She added, in an interview with News Corp: “AI has more advanced searching capability than the average predator sitting at home ‘Googling’, and it now means that anyone can possibly find anything we have shared on social media, even if it’s been deleted.”

In her view, “social media is not a safe space for a child’s images or information” as it makes it possible for predators to abuse technologies to help them groom, target, and trick minors.

“They can create whole images and fake personas for a child of any age, making it harder for a child to identify if the person is another child or an adult. Not to mention, AI is now being used to create child exploitation and abuse material from one image,” she warned.

AI Her Way founder Dr Nici Sweaney added that social media is a particularly strong tool for predators to wield against parents, considering many with kids have had a Facebook account since the early days of Facebook, which launched online way back in 2004.

“They’ve got an index of all of our information that we’ve ever posted. Now we can have AI that can troll through this at scale and find those patterns and connect the dots,” she said.

“When we all joined back then, it wasn’t even a thing that you would potentially have this technology that’s able to mine all the data they have on you. So ever since we signed up to these platforms, we’ve given them consent to keep what we post on those platforms… they own that data, they can do what they want with that data.”

The scientist and ethical AI strategist added that Robins’ encounter is a stark reminder that the internet is forever.

“Once you post online, you no longer own it, and you can never be sure that you’ve actually scrubbed the internet of this information,” she said. “Somebody else takes a screenshot, somebody else reposts, somebody else likes it. That’s all tracking data and interactions with that piece of content. So it doesn’t really matter if you take the picture down.”

Trump gave $45,000 holiday gifts to Natalie Harp and two other aides

Trump gave $45,000 holiday gifts to Natalie Harp and two other aides

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump gave sizable holiday gifts to four White House aides, according to new financial disclosures released by the administration.

The gifts of $45,000 each to executive assistant Natalie Harp, communications adviser Margo Martin, and deputy director of Oval Office operations Chamberlain Harris as well as a $20,000 gift for director of Oval Office operations Walt Nauta were noted in the staffers’ annual financial disclosure forms that were published by the administration last week. Harp, Martin and Harris make $150,000 annually and Nauta is paid $175,000 a year, according to the White House’s salary disclosure report to Congress.

A White House official, who was not authorized to comment publicly and spoke on the condition of anonymity, said Trump “has a longstanding practice of giving Christmas gifts to people in his orbit, including at times employees and aides, both in government and in his time in the private sector.”

The official did not say if any other staffers were given similar gifts from the president, but added that the cash gifts were not related to the “individuals’ official government duties, and therefore are entirely permissible under relevant legal and ethical standards.”

The disclosures of the gifts were first reported earlier on Tuesday by The Washington Post.

Harp is a constant presence by Trump’s side and is known for carrying a portable printer with her so she can print out favorable media coverage and social media posts for the president, who prefers reading important information on paper rather than on a screen.

Martin has been working for Trump since his first go-around in the White House. She started in the first term as a White House press assistant and followed the president to Palm Beach, Florida, to help run his media operations after he lost the 2020 election to Democrat Joe Biden. She returned to the White House with Trump after his 2024 victory.

Earlier this year, Trump appointed Harris to serve on the U.S. Commission of Fine Arts, which has oversight over the president’s White House ballroom project.

Nauta, who previously served as a valet to Trump, and Mar-a-Lago property manager Carlos De Oliveira were charged in 2023 with conspiring with Trump to obstruct an FBI investigation into classified documents that the Republican took with him when he left the White House after his first term.

The charges were dismissed in 2024.

‘Frightening and callous greeting for Jews in the UK’: Community’s fury as Labour’s policy is announced days before Jewish New Year

Published

on

Members of the Jewish community comfort each other near Heaton Park Synagogue in Manchester following a terror attack last year

Britain’s Jewish community on Tuesday warned that Labour‘s sanctions against Israeli settlements will embolden anti-Semites and extremists in the UK.

Chief Rabbi Sir Ephraim Mirvis declared Tuesday’s decision as ‘truly a dark day for British Jews’ at a time when they have never been more vulnerable.

There is also fury that Andy Burnham ignored ‘significant concerns’ raised directly with him by communal leaders last week that his policy will have ‘unintended consequences’.

Community leaders were shocked that Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband chose to announce the policy just days before Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year.

It is particularly painful given the festival ended with the Heaton Park synagogue terror attack in Manchester last year.

Labour life peer Lord Mendelsohn told the Daily Mail: ‘This is a rather frightening and callous New Year’s greeting for the Jewish community.’

He said the framing of Mr Miliband’s statement was ‘ugly and thoughtless’ and will increase the ‘appalling hostile environment for Jews in the UK’.

Tory life peer Lord Polak also took aim at the Foreign Secretary’s choice of words to describe himself as ‘proud Jew’ when announcing the policy.

He said: ‘For the Foreign Secretary to have the gall to begin his horrific speech that he is a proud British Jew is repugnant and an insult to thousands of really proud British Jews.

‘I do not expect that Mr Milliband, as a ‘proud Jew’, will reflect on Rosh Hashanah this weekend about how treacherous he has been to Israel and the Jewish community. The next two years will be sadly horrific.’

The Board of Deputies of British Jews said it followed the announcement with ‘deep regret’ and hit out at the timing.

A spokesman said: ‘Before the Jewish New Year festival of Rosh Hashanah, with concerns for communal security at their highest levels, this will be felt particularly acutely by British Jews.

‘As we have told both governments over recent weeks, the deteriorating relationship between the UK and Israel has the potential to negatively impact the two countries’ security and their economies and further inflame community tensions here, too.’

There are also questions over why Mr Miliband did not wait until after the Israeli elections next month, given that the policy will take between six to nine months to implement.

A new government could come to power which would block the E1 settlements at the heart of the fallout – but Labour’s announcement could serve only to embolden the hard-Right in Israel.

Meanwhile, The Jewish Labour Movement said: ‘In just a matter of weeks, Israel heads to the polls in their first elections since the atrocities of October 7. Anything that feeds [Netanyahu’s] bunker mentality politics could put that victory at risk. With stakes so high, we question the timing of this announcement.’

Prime Minister Mr Burnham met with leaders from across the Jewish community last week who warned him that the boycott could have ‘unintended consequences’ that ‘marginalises and stigmatises British Jews’.

He held a 75-minute meeting in Downing Street with leaders including the president of the Board of Deputies and other figures from the Jewish Leadership Committee and the Union of Jewish Students.

Afterwards, they released a joint statement saying they ‘conveyed significant concerns about the unintended consequences of policies the government is considering in relation to settlements’.

But on Tuesday it appeared that their appeal fell on deaf ears.

UK Nats outage LIVE as Belfast City Airport flights cancelled and disruption at Belfast International

Published

Belfast Live

Josie Donoghue had to get off her flight to Ireland after spending three hours on the runway, and said that getting through Gatwick airport was like “trying to get out of Alcatraz”.

The healthcare worker boarded the Ryanair plane to Shannon at around 3pm and said that “everything seemed fine” until passengers were informed the flight would be delayed due to an issue with air traffic control.

Ms Donoghue said the delay then went “on and on”, adding: “And then I thought, OK they’re not giving us any clear information. It was like they keep saying they’re troubleshooting, they’re doing this, they’re doing that, they’re doing the other.

“Clearly, they didn’t want to tell us what was happening, so I had enough, and I decided at 6 o’clock I’m getting off this plane. I told them I want to get off.”

She said the staff were “exceptional” and helped passengers exit the plane.

Ms Donoghue added: “Getting through that airport was like trying to get out of Alcatraz. We were trapped in there. We were told we couldn’t get out until the flights were cancelled, and then eventually they allowed us to get out.“

She added: “It’s just an absolute nightmare down there, it’s the only word I can use to describe it.” Ms Donoghue is hoping to rebook a flight to Ireland for Wednesday.

Man jailed after he thought he was messaging a child online

Daily Record

Robert Daw, 26, of Gateacre, was jailed for three-and-a-half years after officers found almost 1,500 screenshots and recordings of conversations with children, along with indecent images and videos on his devices

A man from Liverpool has been locked up after police discovered nearly 1,500 screenshots and recordings showing conversations with children, alongside explicit images and videos.

Robert Daw was sentenced at court today, Tuesday, having pleaded guilty to numerous offences connected to the online sexual exploitation of children.

An investigation was launched into the 26 year old following his use of social media and messaging platforms to communicate with someone he thought was a child. Throughout these exchanges, Daw sent sexually explicit messages and tried to establish a sexual relationship.

Daw was arrested by officers in December 2024, and a number of electronic devices were seized for forensic analysis. The team examining his devices uncovered indecent images of children, prohibited images of children, and evidence that he had been contacting multiple children online.

Investigators retrieved nearly 1,500 screenshots and screen recordings of online conversations, along with indecent images and videos that had been saved on his devices.

Officers managed to identify and safeguard three children aged 12 and 13, with support provided through the relevant police forces and partner agencies, reports the Liverpool Echo.

Daw, of Redwing Lane, Gateacre, appeared at Liverpool Crown Court where he was handed a three-and-a-half-year sentence. He also received a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) and will remain on the sex offenders register indefinitely.

Detective Constable Naomi Puig from the North West Regional Organised Crime Unit’s internet child abuse team said: “Daw used online platforms to target and exploit children for his own gratification.

“Through detailed digital investigations, officers uncovered the extent of his offending and were able to identify and safeguard a number of children.

“This sentence demonstrates our commitment to pursuing offenders who use the internet to target children and bringing them to justice.”

A spokesperson for the organised crime unit stated: “The NWROCU continues to work with regional and national partners to identify offenders, safeguard children and prevent online child sexual abuse.

“Anyone concerned about the online safety of a child can report concerns to police or via the Child Exploitation and Online Protection (CEOP) Safety Centre at www.ceop.police.uk.”

Paedophile who was spotted watching child abuse videos on train to London ‘was also paying instalments to buy a 13-year-old girl’

Published

on

David Johnson, pictured, was in April sentenced at Inner London Crown Court to two years and three months behind bars

A paedophile who was spotted by a passenger watching child abuse videos on a train to London also tried to buy a 13-year-old girl – and was paying for her in instalments.

David Johnson, 35, was caught viewing videos of young children being abused while on a train from Stafford to London on September 23, 2025.

Messages from a supplier read: ‘I got all videos. Don’t worry, sweetheart [I] supply all kinds of videos.[sic]’ The vile predator responded: ‘Just kids videos’.

But unbeknownst to him, a horrified passenger sitting behind him witnessed the disturbing exchange as well as the videos that followed.

After moving to another carriage, he alerted British Transport Police, who swooped in to arrest Johnson as soon as the train arrived at London Euston.

Officers seized his phone, which was found to have an indecent image of a child saved as the wallpaper, but the CPS said more evidence was required to charge him.

While in custody, brazen Johnson even asked officers for his phone back because he ‘needed to delete some stuff’.

Further analysis of 150 electronic items belonging to Johnson, where they uncovered nearly 200 indecent images, including 105 Category A pictures – the most serious.

In an episode of Channel 4’s 999: What Happened Next, it was also uncovered that Johnson was trying to buy who he believed was a 13-year-old girl named Lola.

David Johnson, pictured, was in April sentenced at Inner London Crown Court to two years and three months behind bars

Officers found Johnson had been sending disturbing and explicit messages to the teen across several apps.

Messages found by police implied Lola was owned by an individual named ‘Shanelle’ and that Johnson would have to pay a fee to meet her.

In correspondence between Johnson and Shanelle, she describes herself as the teenager’s ‘guardian’.

She claimed the 13-year-old had been abandoned by her biological mother outside of a ‘crack house’ when she was a baby.

Shanelle then alleged they never heard from Lola’s mother again and that she had taken her own life.

Johnson later responded: ‘Okay, and I am sorry to hear that and you know I will look after her.’

Shanelle then asked: ‘Are you interested in sleeping with her, or [do] you wanna have her forever?’ To which Johnson responded: ‘Both.’

She then drew up a contract setting out a payment plan for Johnson to pay £4,500 in increments over a number of months.

Johnson had planned to meet the 13-year-old girl at her home on the day of his arrest and had condoms and a train ticket in his possession at the time.

Police went to an address in Wolverhampton where they believed Lola was living; however, people living there did not know anything about the child.

It was later uncovered that neither Lola nor Shanelle were real and were fake personas created by scammers in Nigeria to whom he was sending money.

Johnson had previously gone to Wolverhampton to pick Lola up but was told she was sick and was asked to return at a later date to get her.

Johnson offered no comment during police interviews, and devices were seized from two addresses linked to him.

At Inner London Crown Court, he pleaded guilty to six counts of making indecent images of children, two counts of attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child and arranging a child sex offence.

He was sentenced to two years and three months behind bars last April. He was also handed a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order.

Johnson will remain on the sex offenders’ register for a decade.

Detective Constable Victoria Lowth said: ‘The quick thinking and courage of the man who saw Johnson’s phone meant that we were able to quickly arrest him and uncover the scale of his offending.

‘I’d like to offer our sincerest thanks to that man, whose actions have directly led to Johnson’s imprisonment.

‘Behind every image and video Johnson owned is a vulnerable child that has been exploited and abused.

‘He is clearly a danger to children and has rightly been handed a substantial jail sentence, and stringent conditions have been put in place to prevent him from offending further.

‘We will always do everything we can to make the railway a hostile place for criminals, and especially those whose offending targets children.’
