F-16 fighter jets intercepted two general aviation aircraft flying above President Donald Trump‘s golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey, on Sunday afternoon.
The airspace above Trump’s New Jersey golf club had been temporarily restricted, as the venue hosts the LIV Golf New York tournament, which Trump is attending.
‘NORAD F-16s intercepted multiple general aviation aircraft today that violated temporary flight restrictions over Bedminster, NJ,’ North American Aerospace Defense Command shared in a Sunday post on X.
‘All aircraft were safely escorted out of the area by NORAD aircraft,’ the military division noted in a post on X.
Restricting airspace is a common practice for special events, including presidential movements, major sporting events, and gatherings of national security concerns.
Pilots were reminded to ‘Check NOTAMs (Notices To Airmen) before EVERY flight!
The First Air Force Detachment previously shared on Thursday, ‘Multiple TFRs will be in effect over the New Jersey area this weekend. U.S. Army ground-based air defense assets may also be visible.’
‘Remember: Check NOTAMs before EVERY flight! Stay Safe, Fly Informed,’ the division noted last week.

The Digital Visual Information Distribution System, which is operated by the Department of War, also shared the following procedural reminder with pilots.
‘Should NORAD aircraft intercept a general aviation aircraft, the pilot should immediately come up on frequency 121.5 or 243.0 and turn around to reverse course until receiving additional instructions on one of those frequencies,’ the group noted in a statement.
Trump spent Sunday at his Bedminster golf course once again as LIV Golf played its final round.
Trump was on hand for the LIV Golf New York event toward the end of the rebel tour’s season.
The day before, the President was spotted on a golf cart driving around as he was followed by security and his daughter, Ivanka.
On Sunday, he was joined by legendary golfer Gary Player on the cart as they watched the action.
The President also got out of his cart and strolled onto one of the tee boxes, waving to fans and supporters.
Trump has been a longtime supporter of the rebel tour that was formerly backed by the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF).
Earlier this year, the PIF announced they would stop financially supporting LIV Golf after the conclusion of the current season.
Earlier this week, LIV announced they had secured funding for the 2027 season, but little further details were revealed.
Over the course of its existence, LIV Golf has frequented golf courses owned by the President’s holding company.
Earlier this year, the tournament was held at Trump National Golf Club in Washington, DC.
LIV has also hosted a Miami event at the Blue Monster course at Trump National Doral in the past.
