Live TV and radio coverage will run throughout the week as well as the latest video updates and features
The Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann comes to Belfast this Sunday for what will be its 75th year running. The weeklong event is expected to bring in over 700,000 visitors to the city where they will experience traditional Irish music and culture.
But for those who cannot make the event in person, RTÉ will be running coverage throughout the week across RTÉ One, Raidió na Gaeltacha, and RTÉ Radio 1. TG4 and BBC Radio Ulster will also be airing the events, so you won’t miss a thing.
The main event kicks off Sunday, August 2, and as official partners of the Fleadh, TG4 and RTÉ promise extensive coverage of the events. From Wednesday onwards, RnaG and RTÉ Radio 1 will be running programmes described as ‘a front-row seat to the very best of the craic, ceol and culture’.
Throughout the week, RnaG will be live from the RTÉ Stage in Writers Square, where you can catch Ríl na Rodaí from 3-5pm and Ceol Cinn ó na Been a from 7-9pm.
Saturday will show traditional music live from the RTÉ Stage, Writers Square until 4 pm, before a special programming of RTÉ Radio 1’s Céilí House kicking off at 9pm.
Sunday, the final day, RTÉ RnaG will be airing Sunday Mass live from St. Patrick’s Cathedral.

TG4 is set to broadcast four spectacular nights of live entertainment from 9.30pm August 6-9. The programme will be spread across Fleadh stages between Fountain and Castle Street and promises top performances from rising stars, traditional talent, and competition winners. Select competitions will also be streamed on YouTube.
On August 6, you can also catch Jack Warnock and Caoimhe ‘Ceol’ Ní Cathail’ live on BBC Radio Ulster at 6.05PM, where they will be discussing and celebrating the traditional music of the city throughout the week.
The BBC is also offering a pre recorded performance of folk and trad music. The Fleadh Folk Concert will air on Sunday, August 2 and will feature music from traditional Irish and Ulster-Scots artists alongside contemporary folk artists.
