Never get into debt earns a D. Managed debt used strategically is how most Australians build wealth. Save 20 percent before you buy is a C in a world where government schemes and LMI options exist. Staying with your bank is also a C because loyalty does not get you the best rate. Rent is dead money, property always goes up, and putting everything in savings all land at B or C depending on context.

The advice came from a good place. The market it was designed for no longer exists.
