🚨$1.6 trillion Franklin Templeton’s Head of Digital Assets just said XRP isn’t just surviving — it’s redeploying years of capital into real businesses. And Bitwise just confirmed institutions are asking about XRP in boardrooms.
In this video, I break down Roger Bayston’s bombshell statements. He’s the Head of Digital Assets at Franklin Templeton — a firm managing $1.6 trillion. He compared investing in blockchain to Warren Buffett buying Dairy Queen stock because he consumed the product. Franklin Templeton didn’t buy XRP to speculate — they bought it because they needed to USE it in their own securities business. And after experimenting with distributed ledger technology, they realized these systems will be rails for every information-based business on the planet.
Bayston called blockchains “digital nation states” — saying the strongest ones don’t die, they evolve. Franklin Templeton is now deployed on 10 or 11 blockchains and is building a tokenization factory. Their Benji platform already manages over $1 billion in tokenized money fund assets.
Meanwhile, Bitwise’s Ryan Rasmussen confirmed that XRP and tokenization are being discussed inside institutional boardrooms — not just Bitcoin and Ethereum anymore. Bitcoin tumbled below $61,000, as the unwinding of leveraged bets and broader market turbulence deepened a selloff that has wiped out all of the gains since President Donald Trump’s election set off a speculative rush into cryptocurrencies.
The token sank as much as 4.8% to $60,033 in early Asia trade Friday, extending a sharp selloff to plunge to its lowest since October 2024. The rout has erased half of Bitcoin’s value since it reached a record four months ago and has spread to other tokens, related ETFs and companies like Strategy Inc. that hold vast sums of coins.
