France started their 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign with a 3-1 victory over Senegal in Group I on Tuesday night.
Senegal impressed in the first half and created several good chances but failed to make them count. Nicolas Jackson hit the post, while Ismaila Sarr missed a golden opportunity from close range.
The West Africans were left to regret those missed chances as France took control after the break.

Captain Kylian Mbappe opened the scoring in the 66th minute with a calm finish. Substitute Bradley Barcola doubled France’s lead in the 82nd minute after neatly lifting the ball over goalkeeper Edouard Mendy.
Senegal gave themselves hope deep into stoppage time when teenage forward Ibrahim Mbaye scored a brilliant goal in the 95th minute. The 18-year-old showed great skill before firing into the roof of the net.
However, France responded immediately. Mbappe struck a powerful long-range effort just moments later to restore the two-goal advantage and seal a 3-1 win for Didier Deschamps’ side.

The brace saw Mbappe become France’s all-time leading goalscorer and continue his remarkable World Cup record.
Despite the defeat, Senegal can take encouragement from their strong first-half display. However, their inability to convert chances proved costly against one of the tournament favourites.
The result puts France at the top of Group I, while Senegal will now turn their attention to a crucial second group match against Norway.
A multi-time world champion returned to the WWE ring tonight. They wrestled their first match for the company in three months.
The latest edition of WWE NXT saw Natalya (aka Nattie) lock horns with Jaida Parker in a singles match. After suffering a series of losses, Parker was recently confronted by The Low-Key Legend on the black-and-silver show. The former Women’s Champion called the upstart “soft”, marking the beginning of their rivalry.
Thanks for the submission!

Last week, Jaida Parker showed up uninvited at Nattie’s Dungeon 2.0 and brutally attacked her in front of her students. She made a huge statement, setting up a one-on-one match between the two on tonight’s NXT. The bout marked Nattie’s return to the WWE ring for the first time since March 16, 2026.

The Low-Key Legend defeated her former mentee, Maxxine Dupri, in a singles match on Monday Night RAW in March. She returned to the squared circle at GCW Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport XV, where she bested former NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler by count-out.
Nattie continued her winning streak on this week’s NXT. Jaida Parker brought the fight to the veteran, but couldn’t defeat her. In the final stages of the contest, the 44-year-old locked in the Sharpshooter on Parker, forcing her to tap out.
Being a true heel, Nattie didn’t release the vicious submission hold despite winning the match. The referee had to step in and stop the veteran from inflicting more damage on the rising NXT star.
The former Women’s Champion has been a force to be reckoned with since turning heel on WWE TV. She embraced her dark side in January 2026 on an episode of RAW. Nattie backstabbed Maxxine Dupri and cost her a Women’s Intercontinental Championship match against Becky Lynch. The betrayal led to a series of matches between the Canadian superstar and Dupri.

Fans must stay tuned to find out what’s next for Nattie following her dominant win over Jaida Parker.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been out of work since he was sacked by Besiktas last summer, but the former Manchester United manager has now been linked with a new job
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer might be offered an opportunity to make his Premier League comeback as newly-promoted Ipswich Town search for Kieran McKenna’s successor.
McKenna, who had served under Solskjaer at Manchester United, confirmed his departure from Portman Road last week. His exit arrives just weeks after steering the club to a third promotion in five years, though the Tractor Boys will require a new figure to spearhead their survival bid.

Solskjaer has been without a role since his dismissal by Besiktas in August last year. However, he has now emerged as a contender for the vacant position at Portman Road.

The Norwegian was touted for a return to Manchester following Ruben Amorim’s sacking. However, the club ultimately opted for Michael Carrick instead.
Solskjaer would undoubtedly welcome an opportunity to demonstrate his credentials in the top division after a disappointing conclusion to his spell at the Reds. Before that, he had taken the reins at Cardiff City, though ultimately oversaw the club’s drop into the Championship.

He continues to harbour ambitions of a managerial comeback, and the BBC reports that both he and Gary O’Neil are among the names under consideration by Ipswich. O’Neil is currently at the helm of Strasbourg.
He has caught the eye of those at Portman Road after demonstrating a proven ability to keep Premier League sides out of trouble. His first managerial role was with Bournemouth, where he steered them to safety in 2023.
He then moved to Wolverhampton Wanderers, taking charge on the eve of the season, yet still guided the club to a 14th-place finish. McKenna’s departure from Suffolk came amid strong speculation linking him with the Fulham vacancy following Marco Silva’s exit.

However, the 40-year-old insists he left to take a break away from the sport to spend more time with his family. “It is with a mixture of gratitude, pride, sadness and contentment that I have decided to step down from the honour of managing this historic football club,” McKenna said.

“When you have the connection that we have built at this club, there is never a good time to say goodbye. However, having achieved a second promotion to the Premier League last season, with another memorable final day in our stadium, and after reflection over the last couple of weeks, I feel this is the right time for me to step aside.
“I do so with great pride at the incredible progress we have made and with huge hope and optimism for the future of the club. After giving so much to the role over the previous five seasons, I now look forward to taking a break from management and dedicating some time to my family, who have been with me every step of my career so far.”

Jaron Ennis is set to challenge for the unified super-welterweight world title this month, hoping to kickstart an undisputed title run, and Terence Crawford has shared whether he believes ‘Boots’ can capture all four belts at 154lbs.
Ennis claimed both the IBF and WBA world titles at welterweight, previously held by Crawford, and moved up to the super-welterweight scene back in October, where he halted Uisma Lima in the first round to announce himself as a threat to the throne.
“Man, that is a tough fight, especially for Xander at this point in his career, but it shows his heart and his confidence that he has in himself. He is ready to go make history for his country and he is going to do real well in that fight.
“I just think that, right now, it is a little bit too early for him.”
Should Ennis be able to hand Zayas a first career defeat and claim the unified titles, the remaining champions, Josh Kelly (IBF) and Sebastian Fundora (WBC), will be his next obstacles.
Crawford believes that the road to undisputed for ‘Boots’ would likely end with Fundora.
Zayas-Ennis takes place on Saturday, June 27, at the Barclays Center in New York. Fundora comes off a stoppage win over Keith Thurman and is set for his next defence later this year, though no opponent has been named as of writing.
Kelly is expected to make his first defence of his IBF belt against Belfast’s Caoimhin Agyarko on the undercard of Anthony Joshua vs Kristian Prenga on July 25.
The 2026 World Cup continues Wednesday with a 12 a.m. ET start time between Austria and Jordan in Group J in Santa Clara, Calif. They are both chasing the heavily-favored Argentina in this group, and this is the World Cup debut for Jordan. Austria, meanwhile, return for the first time since 1998 after a dominant run through their qualifying group.
The latest Austria vs. Jordan odds from FanDuel Sportsbook list Austria at -260 (risk $260 to win $100) on the 90-minute money line, with Jordan at +700 and a draw at +370. The over/under for total goals is 2.5. Austria’s Marko Arnautovic tops the soccer odds as an anytime goal scorer at +125. Before making any Jordan vs. Austria picks, check out the Austria vs. Jordan predictions from SportsLine’s Jon Eimer.
Eimer is a high-volume bettor who has vast knowledge of leagues and players across the globe. Since joining SportsLine, he has covered the English Premier League, Champions League, Serie A, the FA Cup, and much more. He’s been red-hot on his soccer betting picks in 2026, posting a 31-13-2 record and returning over $1,200 of profit on his Champions League picks. He’s also 12-8-2 on his World Cup picks entering Tuesday. Anyone wanting to follow his World Cup betting advice at sportsbooks and on betting apps could see big returns.
After examining Austria vs. Jordan from every angle, Eimer is leaning Over 2.5 total goals (-156). Eimer notes that Austria scored 22 goals in qualifying and have an extremely strong attack with Marko Arnautovic leading the charge supported by players like Michael Gregoritsch and Konrad Laimer.
The Austrians have the clear talent edge, but Jordan should be able to play loose as the substantial underdogs, leading to an up-and-down matchup and plenty of action on the score sheet. “(Jordan) are a team that understands they are the underdogs, and in matchups as heavy underdogs, tend to press rather than sit back,” Eimer siad. Former NBA star Michael Beasley dropped a bombshell revelation on his Instagram stories on Tuesday. According to Beasley, Kim Davis, his current agent, has stolen “every penny” from him.
According to realgm.com, Davis has represented several basketball players. However, Beasley and Sebastian Telfair are the only ones in her client list who are easily recognizable by NBA fans.
Thanks for the submission!

Beasley put Davis on blast online and called her out.

“kim davis has stolen every penny i currently have!!! every penny!” Beasley posted. “i’m not looking for pitty because i know it’s my fault for trusting but forgive i just didn’t know another way!!! i’ve been thuggin the last few years and if it’s in gods will to continue than it shall continue but i’m here with my son and he doesn’t deserve that!
“kim we supposed to speak at 3am and if you don’t help me figure it out then i’ll post every screen shot i have because you are starting to looking like a liar”
Michael Beasley called out his NBA agent on social media.
Throughout his NBA career, Beasley has worked with various sports agents. In his rookie year, the former Kansas star was with Joel Bell. However, he parted ways with the agent and his advisor, D.C. Assault director Curtis Malone.
Beasley also worked with Charles Briscoe of Briscoe Sports Group in 2022. That was the time that the 6-foot-10 forward tried to make an NBA comeback.

However, that did not work out well, and he has not played in the league since the 2018-19 season.
Michael Beasley’s Honest Thoughts on Ending His NBA Career at 30
Michael Beasley’s career was filled with ups and downs. He was drafted No. 2 in 2008 by the Miami Heat and immediately showed promise. However, he never blossomed into a star player and bounced around the league.
After the 2018-19 season with the LA Lakers, no team gave him another chance, and the NBA moved on without him. When he appeared as a guest on “Club Shay Shay” in April, he said his honest thoughts about retiring after 30.
“I don’t care about this social media s**t. I don’t care about these podcasts or these Big3s. I was just — I was just happy being depressed about not being in the NBA,” he said.
“Kevin Durant still playing and I’m a year younger than him. You don’t think I want to still be — you don’t think I still — yes, absolutely. I was — yeah — heartbroken.”
Michael Beasley and Kevin Durant grew up together in Maryland and evolved into basketball stars. However, their careers have been different. Beasley hasn’t played in the NBA for years, while Durant is still active and is still considered to be one of the best active stars.
Erling Haaland opened his World Cup account with a brace on his tournament debut as Norway rolled past Iraq 4-1 in Boston.
Norway, appearing in the tournament for the first time in 28 years, took the lead after 29 minutes as Sander Berge played David Moller Wolfe in on the left of the penalty area and his low cross was turned in at the back post by Haaland.
Moments later, the Manchester City striker almost turned provider after latching on to Antonio Nusa’s fine pass and feeding Alexander Sorloth, whose shot was well blocked, with Arsenal midfielder Martin Odegaard firing wide as Norway continued to dominate.

Iraq dealt a sucker-punch on the counter attack after 39 minutes. Ali Jasim played a clever reverse pass to Amir Al-Ammari and from his cross, Aymen Hussein planted a header low into the bottom corner.
But Iraq were level for just four minutes as goalkeeper Jalal Hassan failed to deal with a weak back pass and only succeeded in launching his clearance against Haaland, with the ball ricocheting into the net.

Aymen Hussein sparked wild celebrations with his first-half equaliser (Reuters)
Iraq almost drew level in first-half stoppage time as Ali Al Hamadi was played through one-on-one, only to see Kristoffer Ajer’s last-ditch block steer his effort narrowly wide, before Akam Hashim’s volley from the edge of the box flew narrowly over the bar.
Hussein was then unfortunate to score at the other end in the final moments of extra time (Reuters)
After the break, Hussein headed wide and Hussein Ali fired over as Iraq threatened an equaliser, only for Leo Ostigard to rise highest and head in an Odegaard corner after 76 minutes to put the result beyond doubt.
Hassan denied Haaland his hat-trick with a good close-range save, but was powerless to prevent a fourth in stoppage-time.
Again Haaland was involved, heading the ball across the face of goal for Kristian Thorstvedt, who bundled it home – but the goal went down as a Hussein own goal as he attempted without avail to keep it out of his own net.
Norway are top of Group I after one match (Reuters)
The result leaves Norway top of Group I, having underlined their status as dark horses in a group also containing 2022 runners-up France and Senegal, with the former winning 3-1 in their clash on Tuesday.
Not Jon Jennings and his staff. They start theirs with mindfulness.
Jennings is the superintendent of Shinnecock Hills, a role he has held for nearly 15 years. It’s no small task, tending to grounds of such scale and subtlety, with a celebrated William Flynn design set on nearly 300 rolling acres.
The duties are exhaustive and intensely detailed. But before the labor of the day begins, Jennings leads his crew in five minutes of meditative breathing, followed by a brisk burst of calisthenics. It is, he’ll tell you, the best way to prepare for what lies ahead — and what lies ahead right now is a national championship.
For the fifth time in its storied history, Shinnecock is getting set to host the U.S. Open. Practice rounds began Monday. Jennings and his crew, of course, began their preparations long before that.
GOLF.com has been following those preparations for months, sending cameras to Southampton starting in the dead of winter, when Shinnecock was still blanketed in snow. Our crews captured Jennings and his staff pulling protective tarps off the greens, a physically demanding job given the forceful winds that sweep the exposed property. Jennings likened it to that grade-school gym class exercise with the parachute. “You’re holding on for dear life,” he said.
The winter of 2025–26 brought unusual amounts of snow to Long Island, which was both a blessing and a burden. On one hand, the snowpack acted as a protective blanket, shielding the turf from killing cold and desiccating wind. On the other, it pushed back the start of other preparations. Once temperatures rose and the snow cleared, the crew got busy grooming bunkers battered by months of winter weather, rolling the turf, and readying everything for the fine-tuning that championship conditions demand.
Managing the workforce behind all of it is an undertaking in itself. During the off-season, Jennings oversees a staff of 13. That number swells to 40 during the regular season, and for U.S. Open week it will balloon further, with volunteers pushing the total to around 200. With that kind of firepower, the entire course can be mown in roughly two hours.
Even then, the elements keep Jennings and his team on their toes. Moisture management is among the most persistent challenges at Shinnecock, where winds arrive from every direction across the open landscape, threatening to dry out the turf. Keeping the course properly — but not excessively — hydrated is one of the central tasks of the job.
It is, by any measure, a career’s worth of work. But it’s drawing to a close. Jennings is planning to retire after 45 years in the industry. Time flies, which is partly why his morning mindfulness routine has taken on new meaning. It’s a reminder, he says, to stay present amid the controlled chaos of championship preparation.
“It happens so fast,” he said. “I have to make myself slow down and enjoy what’s happening.” You can watch the full video below.
Ryder Cup Captain Luke Donald is set to play in this year’s Amgen Irish Open alongside a trio of Team Europe comrades in Tyrrell Hatton, Rasmus Højgaard and twin brother Nicolai Højgaard.
The former World Number One and two-time Ryder Cup winning Captain will make his first appearance at Trump International Golf Links Doonbeg from September 10-13, 2026.
Donald will again lead Team Europe in the 2027 edition of the Ryder Cup at the J.P. McManus-owned Adare Manor, where the English golfer will bid to become the first Captain to lead a Ryder Cup team to three consecutive victories, having claimed back-to-back victories at Marco Simone in 2023 and Bethpage Black in 2025.
Local Favourites
The world-class Amgen Irish Open field also features defending champion Rory McIlroy, past champions and Major winners Pádraig Harrington and Shane Lowry, alongside local hopes Séamus Power and Tom McKibbin, adding further star power on Ireland’s west coast.

“I had the chance to play at Doonbeg in 2010 and it was a great experience,” said Donald. “I’ve always loved competing in Ireland – the atmosphere, the passionate fans and the challenge of links golf make it such a special place to play, and I’m really looking forward to being part of the Amgen Irish Open.”
Tyrrell Hatton, marking his fourth Ryder Cup appearance, secured the half point that sealed victory in New York last year, as Team Europe defeated the United States 15-13 to record a first away Ryder Cup win since 2012.
“The Amgen Irish Open is always one of the tournaments you look out for on the schedule,” said World Number 21 Hatton. “The fans create a fantastic atmosphere every year and links golf is a challenge that all of us enjoy. I’m looking forward to getting to Doonbeg and hopefully putting myself in contention.”
Former winner Højgaard to compete
Rasmus Højgaard held off the challenge of home favourite McIlroy to win his fifth DP World Tour title at the 2024 Amgen Irish Open, hosted at Royal County Down. His efforts saw him finish second on the Race to Dubai that year and secure the final automatic qualification spot for Bethpage Black, making his Ryder Cup debut in Donald’s victorious 2025 side.
“Winning the Amgen Irish Open was one of the highlights of my career so far and it’s always special returning to a tournament as a past champion,” said Rasmus. “The support we receive from the Irish fans is incredible and I’m excited to be back in Ireland and hopefully make some more great memories.”
Nicolai Højgaard will also arrive at Doonbeg in strong form after recording runner-up finishes on the PGA TOUR at the Truist Championship and Texas Children’s Houston Open, alongside three further top-ten finishes worldwide this season. The Dane enjoyed an impressive Ryder Cup debut at Marco Simone in 2023, helping Team Europe regain the trophy on home soil.
“I’ve always enjoyed playing in Ireland and the atmosphere at the Amgen Irish Open is among the best we experience all year,” Nicolai added. “The course looks like it will provide a great test and I’m excited to be part of such a strong field.”
Amgen Irish Open part of Back 9
The Amgen Irish Open once again assumes a key position on the DP World Tour’s Global Schedule as part of the Back 9, which encompasses nine of the Tour’s most historic tournaments and national opens.

It features an esteemed roll of honour of champions, including Seve Ballesteros, Sir Nick Faldo, Bernhard Langer, Harrington, Lowry, McIlroy, Colin Montgomerie, José María Olazábal, Jon Rahm and Sam Torrance.
Unbeatable football stars, historic goals and legendary goalkeepers: The FIFA World Cup has begun in the US, Mexico and Canada, but the frantic search for tickets remains. Many fraudsters are trying to scam football fans online.
In May, the US domestic intelligence service, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) warned against scams and said it was issuing a public service announcement “to warn the public that cyber threat actors are conducting spoofing attacks against the Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) website in advance of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.”
It went on to explain that “a spoofed website is designed to pose as a legitimate website, with branding, product listings, etc., and malicious actors use them to further illegal activity like personal information theft and facilitating monetary scams.”
It also listed dozens of suspicious domains that had already been identified but said that “the public should be aware that new websites will continue to appear.”

DW Fact Check has put together some tips on how to spot scams.
Often you can tell if a site is fake from inconsistencies in the text
How do I recognize a fake site?
URLs: Fake websites often have URLS that resemble those of the original sites with minor differences. For example, the official domain fifa.com might be altered to filfa.org, fifa-online.com, fifa-2026.xyz, fifaworldcup26.sale or fifa-com.services.
Legal notice: In Germany, Austria and Switzerland and various other countries, websites with commercial or editorial content must display a legally compliant imprint. Therefore, if a website does not have one, it suggests it is not a legitimate site.
Fakeshop-Finder: In Germany, you can use this online tool provided by the Federation of German Consumer Organizations (VZBZ) to find out whether a site is legit or not. You just need to put in the URL.
Look up a domain: You can check when a site was registered at www.whois.comOften the URLs of fake sites are very similar to those of the originals
FIFA tickets at exorbitant prices
According to TicketData, a US platform that tracks major sports events, FIFA currently has thousands of official tickets left.
Verified ticket resale sites such as Seatgeek, StubHub, Vivid and Gametime often offer FIFA tickets at lower prices.
Though FIFA and consumer protection agencies still advise consumers to only purchase through official FIFA channels to avoid being scammed, these sites are established ticket marketplaces that offer refund guarantees. Purchases are legally valid.
The GoalPass app allows users to compare ticket prices on the various platforms, both the official FIFA site as well as those of unofficial resale sites.
On June 11, a ticket for the Germany versus Ivory Coast game on June 20 was going for $932 on Seatgeek, while it cost $3,398 and upwards on the FIFA site.
Experts see no contradiction in the fact that FIFA allows tickets to be sold at significantly lower prices on other platforms. “The last thing it wants is loads of unoccupied seats – not just for the optics but also because any empty seat means a value of $0,” wrote BBC football correspondent Dale Johnson.
“The figures show that fans are not prepared to pay the high prices for tickets for the less desirable games,” he added. “This suggests Fifa cannot get the high face value on its own site, leading to the speculation it is trying to sell the tickets elsewhere – without reducing the prices itself.”
