Friday racing tips: Best bets and odds for Newmarket’s July Festival

Published

on

  • Heraldry (Newmarket, 13:50) – 1pt win @ 7/2 (Ladbrokes)
  • Wine Dark Sea (Newmarket, 15.00) – 4pts win @ 11/10 (Bet365)
  • Jancis (Newmarket, 15.35) – 0.5pts each-way @ 16/1 (Bet365)
  • Tatterstall (Newmarket, 16.45) – 1pt each-way @ 7/1 (William Hill)

It’s ‘Falmouth Friday’ at Newmarket’s July Festival and horse racing correspondent Jonathan Doidge has been run the rule over a cracking card and come up with several selections using the best odds from betting sites.

Oddschecker Handicap (Heritage Handicap) (13.50, Newmarket)

A remarkably small field for a race of its type but it’s still very competitive with what looks a compressed market.

You can make cases out for several, including the ante-post favourite Princling, who has been competitive in similar races but is just 1-4 and dual handicap winner Laureate Crown, who’ll have a bit to prove over this far.

Evanesco is feared, as he dominated a five-runner field on the Rowley Course earlier in the season and could get his own way out front. However, I do like the look of one of the handicap newcomers, HERALDRY, in particular.

William Buick gets on board for the ride for the first time on the Gosden-trained three-year-old, who I think can eke out a fair bit more than his current official mark of 89.

He got up late to win a Kempton maiden (1m, AW) on his reappearance, before the reopposing Decade Of Time got first run on him and made it count at Windsor (1m, good to firm). He now has a 10lb pull with that opponent and he’d be very unlucky to meet with traffic issues in this field, so a small play on him improving is suggested.

Friday racing tip 1: Heraldry (Newmarket, 13:50) – 1pt win @ 7/2 (Ladbrokes)

Betway Trophy (Heritage Handicap) (15.00, Newmarket)

The in-form WINE DARK SEA is a confident selection here and unless he has an off-day he should be capable of bettering his nine opponents.

Harry Charlton’s gelding has won three times from five attempts in handicaps and is going from strength to strength this season. His reappearance effort was an impressive Ascot success (1m4f, good to firm) in a deep enough race, before he bolted up at odds-on at Carlisle (1m3f, good to firm) last time.

He’s got a 6lb penalty to defy but when you consider he’s due to go up by 11lb shortly, he still looks very well treated. The step up in trip is something he’ll have to prove he can handle but there is stamina on the dam’s side of his pedigree and so there’s more than just hope he can see it out to justify his price on betting apps.

Friday racing tip 2: Wine Dark Sea (Newmarket, 15.00) – 4pts win @ 11/10 (Bet365)

If you’re looking for the winner of this cracking contest then I think the most likely one to do so is the odds-on favourite Precise, who is enjoying a super season and has a 9lb weight for age allowance on her side.

As an older horse, Blue Bolt has to shoulder the full 9st 9lb, as does JANCIS, who I think is a juicy price at 16/1 and, although we’re only playing for two places, that may be underestimating her.

She was less than 2l behind Blue Bolt in Royal Ascot’s Duke Of Cambridge Stakes and she gets a 3lb pull with that much shorter priced opponent, while I tipped Balantina to make the frame in the Coronation Stakes (won by Precise) but she got warm beforehand and weakened out of it late on after running a good race.

It’s only a very small stakes play on horse racing betting sites but the selection has really improved this year and may not have reached her ceiling just yet.

Friday racing tip 3: Jancis (Newmarket, 15.35) – 0.5pts each-way @ 16/1 (Bet365)

Debenhams Handicap (16.45, Newmarket)

This isn’t the easiest race to solve, with Our Cody (Ryan Moore booked), Rocking Ends and Rosario all runners with some potential at this Class 3 level but it could be worth siding with topweight TATTERSTALL (Michael Dods/Connor Beasley) on an each-way basis.

His prominent style of racing suits this venue and he’s acquitted himself well in two starts this campaign, being a close third when 1lb lower at Thirsk (5f, good to firm) in May, before being a neck second at Hamilton (5f, good to firm) last time in a race that is working out well.

Back up 3lb, he is still well treated on his form of not so long ago and he certainly looks capable of making the frame again and possibly even proving good enough to earn a first win since Glorious Goodwood nearly two years ago (he’s only raced five times since).

Friday racing tip 4: Tatterstall (Newmarket, 16.45) – 1pt each-way @ 7/1 (William Hill)

If you’re having a bet on horse racing, it’s vital to practice responsible gambling.

Betting can be addictive, and it’s important to stay in control of your gambling, whether you’re using online bookmakers, casino sites, slot sites, bingo sites or any other gambling platform.

Never treat gambling as a way to make money, never bet more than you can afford and when the fun stops, stop.

Gambling sites offer punters tools, like deposit limits, profit and loss trackers and self-exclusion options, to help you stay in control.

But if you ever feel like you need help or advice on gambling addiction, don’t hesitate to contact one of the charities or organisations below.

Free 2026 World Cup anytime goalscorer picks, odds: Ousmane Dembele, Brahim Diaz feature in Thursday best bets

Published

on

The 2026 World Cup quarterfinals kick off Thursday, and title favorite France won’t be taking anything for granted when they face Morocco at 4 p.m. ET in Foxborough, Mass. Les Bleus are +180 favorites at FanDuel to win the World Cup, while the Atlas Lions are +2700 longshots, with only Belgium and Switzerland (both +3000) facing longer odds. It’s a rematch of a 2022 World Cup semifinal, when France took a 2-0 victory. The Moroccans dispatched Canada with ease in the Round of 16 while the French beat Paraguay 1-0. France are loaded with stars like Kylian Mbappe and Michael Olise, which is why they are -400 favorites to advance and -170 to win on the 90-minute money line at FanDuel. Morocco rely more on defending and counter-attacking, but they have plenty of options for World Cup anytime goalscorer picks.

Mbappe is just one goal behind Lionel Messi in the Golden Boot race with seven goals (and owns the assists tiebreaker), and with players like Ousmane Dembele and Olise alongside him, France have a ton of firepower. Players like Brahim Diaz and Ismael Saibari (if healthy) are dangerous attackers in their own right. So where is the value in Thursday’s anytime goalscorer odds for France vs. Morocco?

We have the best bets to score a goal today here, and you can get more analysis of the 2026 World Cup from SportsLine experts like Jon Eimer, Martin Green and Brad Thomas. You need to see what they are saying about Thursday’s matches. Anyone following their World Cup betting advice at sportsbooks and on betting apps could have seen huge returns.

Best World Cup goalscorer picks for Thursday

  • Ousmane Dembele, France (+210, FanDuel)
  • Desire Doue, France (+260, FanDuel)
  • Brahim Diaz. Morocco (+500, FanDuel)

Ousmane Dembele, France (+210)

The 29-year-old Paris Saint-Germain winger showed what he is capable of with his first-half hat trick in a 4-1 victory against Norway in the group stage. He didn’t play a big role in the victory against Paraguay but had an assist against Sweden and scored one and set up another against Iraq. Dembele had 21 goals for PSG two seasons ago and had 10 in 11 starts (22 appearances) last season. The French attack is loaded so it can be tough to pick one player, but Dembele is overdue for some brilliance.

Desire Doue, France (+260, FanDuel)

The 21-year-old is struggling to find playing time, but with this game having the potential to be decided late or potentially go to extra time, he could see enough time on the pitch to make a difference. I wouldn’t risk a lot, but Doue did have a goal against Norway and has three in 12 international matches. He’s just getting started, and he can be a difference-maker off the bench if Les Bleus need a spark. He has 13 goals in league play over the past two season with PSG, starting 34 of his 54 appearances.

Brahim Diaz, Morocco (+500, FanDuel)

The Atlas Lions have a lot of guys who can score goals. Diaz is one of six players on the roster with double-digit international goals. The 26-year-old has 14 in 31 matches, while Saibari has 12 in 35 matches at age 25. Saibari is emerging as a difference-maker for Morocco and scored in all three group stage matches, but he suffered a hamstring injury and had to come off against Canada. With his status in doubt, Diaz will need to carry more of the load. I expect the Real Madrid man to get his first World Cup goal to go with his four assists.

France dismantled Sweden 3-0 in their opening round of 16 encounter before overcoming Paraguay to secure their passage to the quarter-finals. Didier Deschamps‘ side have maintained an unbeaten record throughout the tournament, combining attacking prowess with defensive discipline. Kylian Mbappé has been particularly influential, his goal-scoring tally continuing to mount as France pursue another World Cup crown.

Morocco claimed the first quarter-final spot after a dominant 3-0 victory over Canada in Houston, with Selim Ounahi’s brace and Soufiane Rahimi’s late strike showcasing their attacking quality. The Atlas Lions have been one of the tournament’s most impressive sides, topping their group before delivering superb knockout performances. This quarter-final represents a genuine opportunity for Morocco to reach their second World Cup semi-final, though they face one of world football’s elite sides in France.

Los Angeles Dodgers to visit White House to celebrate World Series win

Published

on

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

The Los Angeles Dodgers are set for what is now becoming an annual trip to the White House.

After becoming the first team to win back-to-back Fall Classics since the New York Yankees won three straight from 1998 to 2000, the Dodgers will once again pay a visit to President Donald Trump in the nation’s capital.

The White House confirmed to Fox News Digital that the team will visit on July 23, an off day between series in Philadelphia and New York.

“President Trump is excited to welcome the Los Angeles Dodgers BACK to the White House to celebrate their World Series championship!” White House spokeswoman Taylor Rogers said in a statement to Fox News Digital.

The California Post was the first to report the news.

The Dodgers were crowned champs again after completing a Game 7 comeback against the Toronto Blue Jays in 11 innings in one of the wildest games of all time.

The visit will not come easily to some — shortly after winning the Fall Classic, an immigration rights group pleaded with the team not to visit again.

“The Los Angeles Dodgers have always been more than a baseball team — they’re part of the spirit of who we are as a city. The team represents our neighborhoods, our families, and our shared love for our diverse communities. But right now, our community, our city are under siege, we need them to stand with us, on the right side of history,” the National Day Laborer Organizing Network (NDLON) wrote in an online petition.

“Ask the team to honor the unity, integrity and diversity they themselves represent. They cannot stay silent as our families and neighbors face violence, detention, and deportation. By visiting a president who has used his power to harm the most vulnerable, the team would be turning its back on the very people who fill the stadiums, wear the jerseys, and give this team its heart. By encouraging the team to do the right thing, we will show the White House that Los Angeles stands for compassion, dignity, and solidarity with their immigrant neighbors.”

Hard-throwing reliever Brusdar Graterol, along with some others, missed out on the celebration last year, which celebrated the 2024 title. Graterol opted to stay at “my brown house.” Freddie Freeman did not attend while he had been on the injured list at the time, but several injured players like Clayton Kershaw, Gavin Stone, Michael Kopech and Michael Grove were there.

Meanwhile, outfielder Mookie Betts decided to go last year after opting out of the trip with the Boston Red Sox in 2019.

JUSTIN VERLANDER ANNOUNCES HE WILL RETIRE AFTER THIS SEASON: ‘I’VE REALIZED THAT TIME HAS COME’

“This is not about me; I don’t want anything to be about me. This is about the Dodgers. Because these boys were there for me,” Betts said, via the Los Angeles Times.

Betts said he regretted not making the trip in 2019, which manager Alex Cora and pitcher David Price also skipped, saying he felt he was a distraction. Cora recently admitted he skipped out on meeting Trump because he wanted to prioritize his home of Puerto Rico. When the Red Sox visited the White House in May 2019, Puerto Rico was still recovering from the destruction of Hurricane Maria in 2017, and Cora wasn’t satisfied with the federal government’s response.

The Dodgers visited former President Joe Biden in July 2021 to celebrate their 2020 World Series title.

Several major sports champions, including each NBA title winner, have declined to visit the White House during both of Trump’s terms. The Dodgers, Philadelphia Eagles, Florida Panthers, Ohio State football team, Indiana football team, LSU baseball team and Inter Miami have all visited the White House to celebrate their championships since Trump’s second term began in January 2025.

It remains to be seen whether the Seattle Seahawks and Carolina Hurricanes will follow suit, but Knicks owner James Dolan said his team would visit. That would make them the first NBA team to visit Trump.

How to complete Overrun and Outnumbered main quest

Published

on

The Overrun and Outnumbered is a main story quest in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced that will begin once you complete the Sage’s Buried Treasure story mission. After Edward and James Kidd make their way through the Mayan hideout for the Assassins and learn about the Sage, they will return to the surface to find out that the Templars have attacked the island.

This article will cover the Overrun and Outnumbered Mission in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced and give you a walkthrough on how to complete it.

How to complete the Overrun and Outnumbered main story quest in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced?

Once you complete the ancient temple and learn the Sage’s identity, you will discover that the Assassins are under attack by the British. James Kidd will give you a new tool, the Blowdart, that will allow you to covertly take down the attackers and free the Mayan Assassins.

Let’s go over how to complete the Overrun and Outnumbered mission in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced.

Free the Prisoners

During the Overrun and Outnumbered main story quest in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, Edward will be tasked with freeing a total of 9 Assassins that the Britishers have captured. You will have the Blowdart with you that comes with two types of bullets: The Sleep Dart and the Berserk Dart.

Take out the first guard with the Sleep Dart, after which James Kidd will go and kill him. Next, go to your left, and you will find the first batch of prisoners. Do not engage in combat, as the guards will execute the Assassins.

Head inside the temple on your left and hit both the guards will sleep dart. A third one will approach you from the left, and if you are quick enough, you can stealth assassinate him. Dispatch the British troops that you put to sleep and free the first batch of prisoners.

Head left, and you will come across a small set of stairs, with a single guard and prisoner waiting above. Silently dispatch the soldier by hiding in the bushes and free the prisoner to continue the Overrun and Outnumbered main story quest in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced.

You will find two more riflemen holding a group of prisoners just ahead. Similar to the first batch, hit the soldiers with Sleep Dart. There is a soldier right behind them, and he will come to investigate. Take him down first, and then the soldiers you hit with the sleep dart before freeing the prisoners.

To continue the Overrun and Outnumbered mission in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, head up the stairs to your right and take out the two guards near the cliff. You can double assassinate them if you are careful.

Drop down on top of the ruins and follow Kidd. He will take down one of the guards, and if you are quick enough, you can assassinate the other one. If you fail, Kidd will take him down by himself.

You can find the next Prisoner in the Overrun and Outnumbered mission in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag in the village, as marked on the image above. Do keep in mind that a sniper is waiting on the tower nearby, and it is wise to take him down first. Now, use the bushes to sneak up on the two guards in the village and kill them.

Go back to the watchtower and look at the temple ruins nearby. You will find two prisoners here, guarded by a few British troops. Use sleep darts on the first two, move close to them, and then sleep dart the Captain and the remaining guard.

Take them out and free the prisoners. If done carefully, you can avoid conflict with the Guard Captain, who can prove to be a challenge based on your difficulty in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced.

For the next prisoner in the Overrun and Outnumbered mission in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, follow the path under the arched tree. You will encounter a brute here. Kill him and take a right up the small set of steps. Take a left here, and you will find two guards holding a prisoner. Take them out to free the prisoner.

Go back to the place where you took down the brute moments ago, and make a right to find a settlement with a few huts and guards. Given that this is located high above, keep heading straight till you find a few palm leaves on the ground. You will be able to scale up the wall here.

Take down the British Soldier standing near the ledge and hit the two soldiers near Adewale with Sleep Darts. Take them down and free your friend to continue the Overrun and Outnumbered mission in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced.

Return to James Kidd

Follow the objective marker to find Kidd and Ah Tabai. You will witness the Britishers leaving the shores of Tulum, and after a small objective, Kidd will introduce Edward to the contracts the Assassins send over the Caribbean. Keep following Kidd, and he will take you to the inner sanctum of the Mayan Temple, showcasing a particular door.

Similar to the original game, you can unlock this door to obtain the Mayan Armor in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced. But you will need the Mayan Stones scattered around the Caribbean for that. This will also conclude the Overrun and Outnumbered mission.
