Your video is so helpful!!!!! Teaching myself , never had any formal training but I’m making the decision to get better at my 40’s lol. Plus is a good cardio , I don’t like running
Thank you for this video.
Omg i just realised the black line is like a T so you know when the wall is near omggg
Going to get a kickboard on Amazon now. Thx!
I tried this and it didn’t work in my pool because the water level in my pool is higher than yours. The water level goes over my head.
I have learned to control my breathing while swimming. I can breathe on the 4th stroke. It is when I do a flip turn that my rhythm gets skewed and I find myself gasping for air and coming up for air after the 2nd stroke and beyond until I can get that rhythm back.
The pocket thing has never worked for me! Either breathing in water or swallowing it, or missing my breath cuxz there's too much water there.
do you breath in through the nose in freestyle? i see you suggest breath out in water thro nose
Thank you! I’ll definitely try these to feel more confident next time.
I am new to swimming nd loved this video on how to improve my breathing. As a "mild" smoker and trying to quit, Im afraid of having a heart attack in th e pool. Also im 65 yrs old. Anyway, love your instruction.

Half your face in the water means half your mouth inhaling water
this doesnt help me at all
Omg you don’t stop talking just show us what to do
I have an advanced arthritic issue in my neck and am only able to breathe out the left side. I can rotate to the right but have to rotate sooo much that it throws my technique out of sync. The BIGGEST advantage I have learned and used is to look straight down and not forward… Wow what a difference it made. Thanks Your advice is THE BEST…
I too learn a lot. Question I have is at what rate do you exhale. I normally breathe every 4th stroke. I find this the best for me but at times seem to "run out" of exhale before the completion of the stroke. Is there a rule/method for knowing at what rate to exhale ?
અઘરુ છે ભાઈ
Im just a child so i run out of breath eisily
How to breathe every 3x handstroke?
Water gets into the mouth if we open our mouth before our head is in that sweet spot where it should be in order for us to breathe.
Or if we are not opening mouth more than we should
Fantastic, excellent tips, thank you!
Me too. Im gonna try my first 400m race hope this helps to improve my breathing technique
my Hands go so fast and can't push my Hands
Before: Always exhausted and would give up after a couple strokes.
After: Today I did 50 lengths and a happy dance!
(first very slowly and patiently repeating the first drill for 20 lengths then lengths without the board).
Taylor, thank you for sharing your wisdom!
Thank you!
waow this will really help …
