NEW DELHI: The friendship between India batting star Virat Kohli and pacer Ishant Sharma is well known. Having played together since their childhood days in Delhi and later for India, the duo share a long-standing bond. Every time they meet, it brings back fond memories. During the IPL 2026 clash between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Gujarat Titans, the two were seen catching up, sharing a warm hug, cracking jokes and enjoying a light-hearted moment. In a video that has gone viral on social media, Ishant, wearing a bib over his Gujarat Titans jersey, can be seen standing alongside Kohli near the boundary ropes. The two were engaged in a cheerful conversation, laughing and joking around.Ishant is part of the Gujarat Titans setup, while Kohli continues to represent RCB in IPL 2026.However, the match also witnessed a dramatic and controversial moment with Kohli at the centre of it. He was seen questioning the fourth umpire after a contentious catch by Jason Holder led to the dismissal of RCB captain Rajat Patidar. The incident occurred at a crucial stage of the first innings when RCB were looking to build a solid platform. In the eighth over, Patidar, batting on 19, attempted a pull shot to accelerate the scoring. Holder reacted quickly, diving forward to complete a low catch, while Kagiso Rabada also closed in, nearly resulting in a collision between the two fielders.Replays appeared inconclusive on whether the ball had touched the ground. Despite the uncertainty, the third umpire upheld the decision after review, and Patidar was given out.The call left Kohli and the RCB camp visibly unhappy at a key moment in the match.Gujarat Titans eventually sealed a tense four-wicket win over defending champions RCB.GT bowled RCB out for 155 in 19.2 overs before chasing down the target in 15.5 overs. Shubman Gill (43 off 18), Jos Buttler (39 off 19) and Rahul Tewatia (27* off 17) led the charge with the bat.Despite the loss, RCB remained second on the points table with 12 points, while Gujarat Titans stayed fifth but moved to 10 points with the win.
A video of Sunrisers Hyderabad overseas star Heinrich Klaasen allegedly warning a fan for recording him as well as his family without their permission has gone viral on social media. In the video that has been shared multiple times on social media, Klaasen was seen threatening someone and asking them to stop recording. Although the face of the player was not visible in the video, the internet was convinced that it was the wicket-keeper batter from South Africa. He said that the person recording on his phone will be on the floor if he did not stop.
“Don’t do it, sorry. Listen to me very carefully, don’t do it, okay,” he said.
“I said to you no. Please leave,” Klaasen was heard saying in the video.

POV: meeting a foreign cricketer in India…. Dude just give him and his family some privacy for gods sake.
When the fan continued to film and said that SRH played well, the cricketer responded – “Thank you very much, but don’t take a photo. If I turn around and you take a photo of me and my family, I promise you will be on the floor, okay.”

Earlier, former South Africa fast bowler Dale Steyn heaped praise on Sunrisers Hyderabad’s middle-order batter Heinrich Klaasen for his scintillating knock against Mumbai Indians and pointed out that the batter is “still right up there as an Orange Cap contender” despite coming out to bat in the middle order.
After openers Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head added 129 runs for the frist wicket, Klaasen thrashed an unbeaten 65 off 30, while Salil Arora smoked 30 not out off ten balls to hand SRH the fourth-highest successful chase in the IPL and their fifth straight win of the season.
Steyn pointed out that Klaasen’s numbers are even more impressive considering he does not open the batting and often comes in after the top order has already faced a significant portion of the innings.
“The numbers are just insane because he’s competing with the guys at the top of the order, the opening batters. If you look at the opening batters from Sunrisers Hyderabad in particular, they get off to incredible starts and do the bulk of the run-scoring. He comes out later and yet; he’s still right up there as an Orange Cap contender. It’s an exceptional effort by him,” Steyn told JioStar.
“Every time he comes out, he looks in total control. He looks steady, hits the ball down the ground nicely, and gets himself in. When he wants to pull the trigger, he’s able to hit the ball anywhere. That six where he went reverse off the spinner, how? He just pulls it out in the middle of a game. Incredible hand-eye coordination, skill, and then obviously, the mental side to back his ability to do it under pressure,” he added.

While Exeter – under hugely experienced director of rugby Rob Baxter – have transformed their fortunes, Richie Murphy’s Ulster project has taken shape in recent months.
After a miserable 2024-25 that ended with Ulster finishing third-from-bottom in the United Rugby Championship, they are fighting for domestic and European honours at the business end of the season.
Thanks to attack coach Mark Sexton’s impact, Ulster have scored 210 points in their six Challenge Cup games compared to Exeter’s 204 (although 28 of the Irish province’s total came after their pool fixture against the Cheetahs was cancelled).
“There are lots of boys in there putting their hands up and probably just enjoying the style of rugby they’re playing.
“It’s infectious. They play with a lot of tempo and speed. It’s a 15-man game, which has been very exciting and from a fan’s point of view that’s what you want to come and watch.
“They’re staying true to themselves even whenever it might not feel like the right thing to do.”
Ulster have not won a trophy in 20 years while the Chiefs’ Champions Cup success came in a behind-closed-doors final, meaning a Bilbao final on 22 May against Montpellier or the Dragons is a huge incentive for both sides.
“The Chiefs haven’t won this competition before,” said Steenson.

“The way they’ll look at it as possibly completing a clean sweep of every competition, which would be an awesome feat.
“From an Ulster point of view, they haven’t won for a long, long time. It’s the chance to get the supporters buzzing around a European final.
“Who would it mean more to? Would it mean more to the Ulster supporters to get the opportunity to go and do that? Potentially, but I know how fanatical the Chiefs supporters will be.”
LOS ANGELES, CA – APRIL 29: Houston Rockets center Alperen Sengun (28) and forward Jabari Smith Jr. (10) celebrate during the fourth quarter of game five of a Western Conference NBA playoff game against the Los Angeles Lakers at Crypto.com Arena on Wednesday, April 29, 2026 in Los Angeles, CA. Wednesday night in the NBA playoffs delivered three key Game 5 matchups, with two teams fighting to extend their seasons and another taking control of their series.
The Detroit Pistons kept their season alive with a 116-109 win over the Orlando Magic. Cade Cunningham and Paolo Banchero both scored 45 points, going back and forth throughout the game. Detroit stayed in control and held on late to force a Game 6. After the game, Cunningham said, “Back against the wall, never-say-die mentality… It was great basketball.”
The Cleveland Cavaliers edged the Toronto Raptors 125-120 to take a 3-2 series lead. James Harden led the way with 23 points, nine rebounds and five assists, while Evan Mobley added 23 points. Cleveland’s shooting helped them pull through in a close game.

The Houston Rockets also stayed alive with a 99-93 win over the Los Angeles Lakers. Jabari Smith Jr. led Houston with 22 points as the team held off a late push from LeBron James and the Lakers. Head coach Ime Udoka said after the game, “Big time performances from everybody.”
The results mean Detroit and Houston have both forced Game 6, while Cleveland now holds a strong advantage in their series. Teams with a 3-2 lead have historically gone on to win the series most of the time.
For months, rumours have continued to follow Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen across Europe.
From Arsenal to FC Barcelona and even Real Madrid, several top clubs have reportedly shown interest in signing the Nigerian forward.
But while many expect another big transfer move in his career, Osimhen appears happy exactly where he is — at Galatasaray.

The Nigerian striker has become one of the most feared forwards in world football in recent years. After his successful spell at SSC Napoli, he first joined Galatasaray on loan before completing a permanent €75 million move to the Turkish giants last summer.
Since arriving in Istanbul, Osimhen has continued to shine in front of goal, scoring 57 goals and providing 15 assists in 72 appearances.
His brilliant form has naturally attracted interest from Europe’s biggest clubs again, with reports suggesting some teams could make offers during the summer transfer window.

However, despite the growing speculation, the 27-year-old has now spoken warmly about life in Turkey and why Galatasaray feels special to him.
Speaking with journalist Onah Kosisochukwu, Osimhen reflected on his journey and the support he has received since moving to Istanbul.
“God has put me on that path to prepare me for the greatness I’m in right now,” Osimhen said.
“It’s what shaped me into the kind of man I am today, and I’ve enjoyed so much in my career so far.”

The striker then opened up on the connection he feels with Galatasaray, its fans and the city itself.
“But I think I’ve found a home here where I am comfortable, as are my family and a few close friends,” he added.
“This club—I’m trying to find the right word to justify it—is family. It’s love, unity, and utmost respect, not just for the player but for everyone associated with them.”
From the moment he arrived in Istanbul, Galatasaray supporters welcomed Osimhen with massive love and admiration. Fans filled the airport to receive him, while special tributes and displays were organised in his honour.

Those experiences appear to have left a deep impression on the Nigerian international.
Osimhen is also currently one of the highest-paid players in Turkish football, reportedly earning around €21 million net per season.
With his strong bond with the club, impressive form, and huge salary package, convincing the former African Footballer of the Year to leave Galatasaray this summer may prove difficult for Europe’s top clubs.

Chris Kreider, Troy Terry and Leo Carlsson all scored once in three-point outings as the Anaheim Ducks advanced to the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs with a 5-2 home-ice victory over the Edmonton Oilers in Game 6 on Thursday.
Cutter Gauthier collected one goal and one assist while Ryan Poehling added a goal for Anaheim, which claimed the Western Conference quarterfinal series 4-2. Goaltender Lukas Dostal made 25 saves as the Ducks recorded their first postseason series victory since 2017.
The Ducks’ opponent in the Western Conference semifinals will be the winner of the series between the Golden Knights and Utah Mammoth, which Vegas leads 3-2.
Connor Murphy and Vasily Podkolzin tallied for the Oilers, who lost in the Stanley Cup Final in each of the previous two seasons. Goalie Connor Ingram stopped 26 shots.
For the first time in the series, Anaheim opened the scoring. Poehling’s fourth tally of the playoffs came just before the midway point of the first period. After the line’s workmanlike effort to gain possession of the puck in the offensive zone, John Carlson sent a point shot that ricocheted off a defender and then the back of Poehling’s leg before going into the net.

Kreider doubled the lead four minutes later with his first of the series, a one-timer off the rush that found the mark on the short side to make his 35th birthday all the better.
Murphy put the Oilers on the board 91 seconds later with a tap-in tally during a scramble. However, Gauthier restored Anaheim’s two-goal edge with his team’s eighth power-play goal of the series, benefitting when his shot redirected off a defender’s stick and into the net at 16:50 of the opening frame.
Anaheim scored with the man-advantage in all six games.

Less than one minute after the Oilers had a goal waved off, Terry made it a 4-1 game by burying a shot from the slot with 46.5 seconds remaining in the second period.
Podkolzin’s goal 73 seconds into the third period — a shot was going wide of the net but banked off Podkolzin’s leg and into the cage — provided a spark for a possible Oilers comeback.
However, Carlsson quashed the rally hopes by scoring an empty-net goal with 3:34 to go.
Terence Crawford has been given a lucrative offer in an attempt to bring him out of retirement.
Crawford hung up the gloves back in December following a stellar career, winning all 42 of his fights and becoming a five-weight world champion, along with earning undisputed honours in three of those divisions.
He defeated big names such as Errol Spence and Shawn Porter, but his most impressive win of all came in his last outing, when he stepped up to 168lbs and dethroned super-middleweight king Canelo Alvarez.
While Crawford has continued to insist that he has no desire to return to the ring, Saudi chief Turki Alalshikh is hoping he may be able to tempt ‘Bud’ into having one fight in particular.
Posting on social media, Alalshikh revealed he wants to make the rematch between Crawford and Canelo, suggesting that the American should attempt to add to his status of three-time undisputed champion.
“We want the rematch with Canelo maybe it is a chance to be 4.”
Canelo has been keen to secure the rematch with Crawford ever since suffering his unanimous decision defeat in September, but it remains to be seen whether the offer from Alalshikh could make ‘Bud’ change his mind and end his retirement.

CJ Abrams hit a go-ahead two-run homer in the eighth inning and drove in three runs as the visiting Washington Nationals rallied for a 5-4 victory over the New York Mets on Thursday afternoon.
After Luis Garcia Jr. opened the inning with a single and Daylen Lile avoided hitting into a double play on a fielder’s choice, Abrams gave Washington a 5-4 lead by driving a 2-1 changeup from Luke Weaver over the right field fence.
Abrams’ 403-foot drive was his sixth hit in 11 at-bats in the series and helped the Nationals win for the fourth time in five games. Washington also beat the Mets for the sixth time in the past nine meetings.
Abrams homered off Weaver (2-1) after Washington lost an early three-run lead.
The Nationals went ahead in the second when Jorbit Vivas scored from first on New York starter Freddy Peralta’s three-base throwing error on a comebacker. Jacob Young followed with a two-out RBI single. Abrams flailed a broken-bat single to left field after Garcia doubled in the third.

Besides the shortstop’s clutch hits, the Nationals also got standout defense from right fielder James Wood.
Wood made a leaping catch and stuck his glove over the fence to rob Juan Soto of a homer in the first. In the fifth, Wood charged in and made a diving catch on Bo Bichette’s sinking liner.
New York’s MJ Melendez hit a tying three-run homer over the right field fence off Miles Mikolas’ 1-2 fastball in the third. Mark Vientos hit an RBI-double to the right-center field warning track to give the Mets a 4-3 lead in the sixth.

The Mets lost for the 17th time in 20 games. Their skid includes a 12-game losing streak and New York has been outscored 106-53 in a span when they lost Francisco Lindor (calf) and Luis Robert Jr. (back) to the injured list.
Mikolas allowed three runs on three hits in four innings. The right-hander struck out three and walked one while frequently falling behind hitters. Left-hander Mitchell Parker (2-0) went the next three innings and former Mets lefty Richard Lovelady got two outs after Soto opened the eighth with a double.
Gus Varland stranded Soto at second in the eighth and struck out Ronny Mauricio in the ninth to cap an eight-pitch at-bat with Francisco Alvarez on second to secure his third save.
Peralta allowed three runs (one earned) on four hits in six innings. The right-hander struck out six and walked three.
If a tree falls on the fairway of a famous golf hole, does anybody notice? They sure do.
They also notice when it gets replaced.
On Thursday, Pebble Beach Golf Links posted photos of a fresh addition to its 18th hole, where a second cypress tree has been planted, replacing one that toppled during a Dec. 11, 2014 winter storm. The work restores a feature that had long complicated tee shots and layups on the fabled par-5 finisher.
The replacement tree came from the 17th hole at nearby Spyglass Hill. It now stands in the same spot once occupied by the storm-felled tree, roughly 30 yards closer to the green than its companion pine.

Ranked 15th on GOLF’s list of Top 100 Courses in the World, Pebble Beach opened in 1919 and has evolved over more than a century of life, undergoing tweaks both subtle and significant. In 1997, for instance, Jack Nicklaus was hired to build a new par-3 5th hole, a change that brought the hole to the edge of the bluffs overlooking Stillwater Cove.
Since 2010 alone, the course has undergone a slew of additional refinements — longer tees on the 2nd and 9th holes, restored bunkers, and recontoured greens designed to revive classic features and open up new hole locations.
The tree planting comes as Pebble fine-tunes the course ahead of the 2027 U.S. Open, which it will host for a record seventh time.
This is not the first time an iconic tree has been replaced at Pebble. In 2002, an 80-foot Monterey cypress was planted beside the 18th green, taken from the 1st hole to replace the original, which had died of pitch canker disease. That replanting — digging a giant hole, maneuvering a giant root ball into place — was something of a spectacle.

But it played out with less immediate fanfare in the age before Instagram.
Joe Calzaghe believes there is no debate on who is the greatest boxer of all time.
Calzaghe is often credited by many as being the greatest boxer the UK has ever produced, having the rare honour of retiring undefeated after winning all 46 of his professional fights.
He spent over 10 years as WBO super-middleweight champion before going on to add each of the IBF, WBA and WBC belts at 168lbs, before moving up to light heavyweight and ending his career with victories over Bernard Hopkins and Roy Jones Jr.

When it comes to naming the best ever though, Calzaghe once told BBC Sport that he felt there could be nobody other than Muhammad Ali.
“In a 1,000 years time people will look back and say he was the greatest. He is the greatest boxing and greatest sporting icon of all time. He was my inspiration, I tried to copy some of his moves as soon a I started boxing at the age of 10 or 11.
“Boxing is the hardest sport in the world and in a time when he was champion, it wasn’t a great sport – it was on a bit of a downward spiral but he transcended the sport with his personality and style.
“People loved him, he was someone completely different, he backed it up in the ring and everybody wanted to tune in and watch him fight.”

Some fans had no problems with the Minnesota Vikings “reaching” for defensive tackle Caleb Banks in Round 1 one week ago and loved the pick. Others believe running back Demond Claiborne was the best value in Round 6. CBS Sports? According to that website, Round 3 offensive tackle Caleb Tiernan represented the wisest selection by the Vikings.
Minnesota may have found a ready-made depth piece with real starting experience.
Tiernan may not play right away, but before too long, he’ll get a chance to prove if CBS Sports has it right.

A Swing Tackle Arrives with Long-Term Upside
He’s the highest-drafted offensive tackle by the Vikings in five years.
Caleb Tiernan (OL50) works through drills on the field during a busy evaluation session, showcasing size and movement skills for scouts, Mar. 1, 2026, at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. Josh Edwards: Tiernan Is the Vikings’ Best Pick
Edwards found one best pick per team this week, and for the Vikings, Tiernan got the nod.
He wrote, “Tiernan was at the top of that second tier of offensive tackles in the personal rankings. He is a smart, technically refined lineman who should bring value as a swing tackle early in his career.”
Elsewhere in the NFC North, Edwards named cornerback Domani Jackson as the Green Packers’ best-value choice: “Jackson has the size and athletic ability to be a starter in this league. Although Green Bay’s vision for last year’s secondary did not come to fruition, they have some intriguing young cornerbacks. Penn State edge rusher Dani Dennis-Sutton in the fourth round was great value as well.”
The Skinny on Tiernan
The Northwestern alum’s calling card is his exceptional pass protection. Possessing a rare build at 6’8,” 320 pounds, he has started five full seasons at both tackle spots. Ready for the NFL now, he will be just 24 during next year’s playoffs.
His basketball background is also evident in his movement and body control.
The Ringer‘s Todd McShay on Tiernan: “Early in his career, Tiernan could fill a swing tackle role while also providing guard depth as he develops into a potential starter. Players like Bernhard Raimann, Luke Goedeke, and Braden Smith have overcome similar length limitations to stick at tackle.”
“There’s also a Northwestern precedent for shorter-armed tackles moving inside and thriving — Peter Skoronski is already among the league’s best. If Tiernan follows that path, Sam Cosmi is a strong stylistic comparison. Tiernan is an athletic, experienced, and versatile offensive lineman who may need to transition from tackle, where he played in college, to guard in the NFL.”
It’s worth noting that the Vikings love versatile offensive linemen. See: Blake Brandel.
McShay continued, “As a pass blocker, he remains effective despite his shorter arms and high center of gravity. He gets into his set quickly and smoothly, working with independent hands and rewrapping quickly if he initially misses inside placement. Inside moves don’t faze him — he mirrors well, recovers quickly, and becomes difficult to disengage once he’s locked on. Although power can push him back, he typically regains his leverage and holds up.”
“Even with his limited length, he rarely overextends and consistently picks up stunts and blitzes. In the run game, he shows enough strength to lift and drive defenders when he lands inside. He generates movement on combo blocks, including knocking defensive tackles into adjacent linemen.’
When Will He Play?
Here’s the big mystery: a 3rd-Round pick should play before too long, a rule applicable to almost every position. But the Vikings already have Christian Darrisaw at left tackle and Brian O’Neill on the right side. Darrisaw is under contract for four more years. O’Neill’s contract is up next offseason, though most expect an extension.
Therefore, Tiernan is basically on the roster for a rainy day. He feels like a “best player available” pick for the club, which usually turns out to be helpful.

If Darrisaw gets hurt in 2026, Tiernan is the next man up. Suppose O’Neill is not re-signed. Well, Tiernan would get tapped on the shoulder for RT duty.
Other Best-Value Selections
Per the NFL draft media community, Minnesota snagged a view “best value” picks on Friday and Saturday. Many love running back Demond Claiborne because of his stature similarity and stylistic parallels to Miami Dolphins tailback De’Von Achane. Claiborne has 4.37 speed, and the Vikings haven’t employed a promising young running back since Dalvin Cook or Alexander Mattison.
Others enjoy Stephen F. Austin rookie cornerback Charles Demmings, a scrappy defender who felt hand-picked by Brian Flores.

Cincinnati center Gavin Gerhardt could also end up with a starter’s job before too long, after Ryan Kelly retired and Minnesota signed no veteran players at the position.
The Vikings now have ample depth at offensive tackle, including Darrisaw, O’Neill, Tiernan, Blake Brandel, Walter Rouse, and Ryan Van Demark.
