The New York Mets season began Thursday night on quite a hilarious note — because why wouldn’t it for the Mets?

After the Mets and Pittsburgh Pirates‘ 2026 rosters were announced, Tony Award winner Chris Jackson, who played George Washington in “Hamilton,” was brought onto the field for the national anthem.

Things got off without a hitch until he moved onto the fourth line of the “Star-Spangled Banner.”

Jackson was supposed to sing “O’er the ramparts we watched,” but instead went in reverse and repeated, “What so proudly we hailed” before moving on to the rest of the anthem.

The mishap started off as a bad omen for the Amazin’s, who choked away the best record in the major leagues on June 13 last year and missed the postseason, as they fell to a 2-0 hole with new ace Freddy Peralta on the mound before recording an out.

However, they stepped up with a five-run first inning, with the help of shoddy Pirates defense, and stunningly knocked reigning Cy Young Award winner Paul Skenes out of the game. It was the first time Skenes had failed to get out of the first inning in his career, having always thrown at least two frames in his previous 55 starts.

Jackson also played “Benny” in Lin-Manuel Miranda’s “In the Heights.” He made his Broadway debut in 1997 in “The Lion King” as Simba. In an ironic twist, Jackson also played Derek Jeter in the former Broadway show, “Bronx Bombers,” that lasted less than a month.

It’s a new look for the Mets after last year’s debacle. They moved on from Edwin Diaz, Pete Alonso, Jeff McNeil, and Brandon Nimmo and brought in Peralta, Bo Bichette, Marcus Semien, and Jorge Polanco. Top prospect Carson Benge also made his MLB debut on Thursday.

Braxton Berrios: SPOTTED: Braxton Berrios sparks dating buzz with new blonde Hollie Ford amid Alix Earle

Published

on

Braxton Berrios has nothing to say about the Alix Earle-Alex Cooper drama. However, the Houston Texans receiver is making headlines for a different reason. He was spotted leaving Bird Streets Club in Los Angeles on Wednesday night with model Hollie Ford.

Berrios and Ford appeared comfortable together and dressed casually for the outing. The Texans star was seen opening the door for the blonde model before the pair climbed into his G-Wagon.

Photographers peppered Berrios with questions about the celebrity feud involving his ex-girlfriend and podcast star Alex Cooper. Berrios played it smartly and refused to take the bait. He said he had no new information to offer.

Reports surfaced back in December that Berrios and Earle had ended their relationship after more than two years together. The split was reportedly mutual and was blamed on long-distance.

Berrios’ dinner night with Ford comes as his ex-girlfriend continues to dominate dating headlines herself. Alix Earle has sparked dating buzz with none other than Tom Brady after the two were reportedly “hooking up” at Fanatics’ Super Bowl party. More so, Earle and Brady were also reported to have spent the entire night in St. Barts on New Year’s Eve.

Alix Earle – Alex Cooper feud

The Alex Cooper-Alix Earle catfight was one of the most talked-about things across social media this past week. Over the months, there had been rumors of tension between the two, but Cooper finally called out Earle directly in a TikTok video on Monday.

“You’re gonna need to get specific and just say what you gotta say about me,” Cooper said.

She outrightly accused Earle of taking “passive-aggressive” shots while also dismissing speculation that Earle was staying quiet for legal reasons.

“I’m really tired of waking up and seeing you using this fake drama to distract from other s*** going online for you,” she added. I know what happened and so do you… Unless you actually have something to say, I’m out. This is over,” Cooper concluded.

Earle also responded in the comments with a short message:

“Okay on it!!”

The “Call Her Daddy” host hinted that more is happening behind the scenes.
