UEFA Champions League final schedule, teams, venue, live time and streaming | Football News

Published

It all comes down to just two teams in the UEFA Champions League 2025/26 season as Arsenal and PSG have booked themselves a final date at the Pusaks Arena in Budapest to battle it out for supremacy on May 30th, Sunday.   While Arsenal booked their final spot courtesy of a hard fought 2-1 battle over two leg against Spanish giants Atletico Madrid, it was the other encounter between Bayern Munich and PSG that stole the show in the semi-finals, ending 5-6 on aggregate over the two legs in a clash worthy of any final.  Arsenal have made it to their first European final in 8 years, first Champions League in more than 20 years with the Gunners last featuring in 2006. Mikel Arteta’s are in line for a historic double this year, with the Premier League title also still up for grabs for them. If they are to win the title this year, they will do so by becoming the only unbeaten team this season.  Defending champions PSG have also had a near perfect season so far and reached the final of the tournament through a much tougher path, facing former champions Bayern Munich and the likes of Liverpool on the way too. A win for Enrique’s men would script history for them too, winning back-to-back titles for the first time in the club’s history.

Norwich City Women sack Head Coach days after Promotion

Published

on

Norwich City Women have parted ways with head coach Andy Cook just days after the club secured promotion to the third tier of the National League.

Cook and assistant coach Ethan Scott were dismissed following Norwich’s play-off victory over Moneyfields at the Pirelli Stadium.

The decision surprised many supporters, especially after Cook had spoken positively about the club’s future after promotion.

“Promotion is unbelievable,” Cook said after Sunday’s win. “We’ve got to make sure we are ready for tier three because it’s a ruthless league.”

Norwich head of women’s football Flo Allen described the decision as “incredibly difficult” but said the club believes changes are needed moving forward.

We have taken stock of what we believe is required to move our programme forward and to ensure that we not only sustain tier three status, but remain competitive on the pitch moving forward,” Allen said.

Fans reacted with shock on social media, with many questioning the timing of the decision after promotion had just been achieved.

One supporter wrote: “Achieve your objective and get the sack?! How does that work?!”

Another described the move as a “bizarre decision” given Cook’s experience at that level.

Norwich will now begin the search for a new head coach and assistant coach ahead of next season.

Gautam Gambhir faces fresh criticism: Ex-Indian cricketer calls him a ‘bully’ | Cricket News

Gautam Gambhir faces fresh criticism: Ex-Indian cricketer calls him a 'bully'

Despite enjoying major success as both an international cricketer and head coach, Gautam Gambhir has come under sharp criticism from former India cricketer Atul Wassan, who accused him of being a “bully” within team environments.Gambhir took over as head coach of the Indian men’s cricket team on July 10, 2024, replacing Rahul Dravid. His tenure so far has delivered contrasting results. Under his leadership, India achieved historic dominance in white-ball cricket by becoming the first team to simultaneously hold the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, ICC Champions Trophy 2025, and Asia Cup 2025 titles. However, India’s Test performances have declined sharply during the same period. The team suffered rare home series whitewashes against the New Zealand national cricket team and the South Africa national cricket team, while also losing the Border-Gavaskar Trophy to the Australia national cricket team for the first time in a decade.Despite the setbacks in red-ball cricket, the Board of Control for Cricket in India is reportedly backing Gambhir long-term, with discussions of extending his contract beyond the 2027 ODI World Cup and potentially through the 2028 T20 World Cup and Los Angeles Olympics.Speaking in an interview with Vickey Lalwani, Wassan launched a scathing assessment of Gambhir’s personality and management style, claiming his aggressive approach dates back to his early cricketing days in Delhi.“I have known him personally since he was a child. I have had my issues with him. With him, it’s about my way or the highway. He is like that, and he would bully a lot, even in Delhi cricket,” Wassan said.“His nature is like that, right from the start. He came from money, an excellent player, and he is intelligent. His ego is on a different level. He thinks that if he says it’s night when it’s morning, it will be believed to be night. Fall in line. If you don’t fall in line, you are on my hit list. He will try to harm you, but he has achieved a lot in cricket, and his nature helped him in cricket,” he added.Wassan further suggested that Gambhir’s confrontational personality was a key factor behind his success as a player, but questioned whether that same attitude still works in a coaching role.“The player he became is because of his nature. He couldn’t give his best unless he fought. He probably goes and fights with the window in his home. But he hasn’t realised when to get off this horse, now that he’s retired, that’s why he is confronting Virat Kohli: over-aggressiveness and an alpha-male kind of personality from Delhi,” Wassan claimed. The former India cricketer also alleged that not everyone inside the Indian dressing room is comfortable with Gambhir’s strict approach.“I am sure that all the players cannot be in a very happy place. Somebody will be sleeping on needles. This happens, personal likes and dislikes, and that too with such a strong personality. With personal likes and dislikes, and leading them with a stick, if you keep on winning, then it’s fine. But if you lose, then you need to listen to criticism,” he said.Although Wassan hinted that some Indian players are unhappy with the current environment, he refused to reveal any names publicly.“I know one or two of them; they won’t say it openly. I can’t say their names in this show. Everyone knows what’s happening. But after sidelining those players, if you win, then it’s your world. It’s a team sport; nobody will listen to the player. If the coach wins even after all this, then the coach is right, and the player is wrong,” Wassan concluded.

ONE Fight Night 43: “I couldn’t fully prepare for this fight”

Published

on

Dagestani dynamo Shamil Gasanov was originally scheduled to challenge Tang Kai in April. The Russian, however, made sure he would arrive at the biggest fight of his life as the very best version of himself.

The 30-year-old fighter takes on ONE featherweight MMA world champion Tang Kai in the main event of ONE Fight Night 43 on Prime Video, broadcasting live in U.S. primetime from Bangkok’s legendary Lumpinee Stadium on Friday, May 15.

The matchup was originally penciled in for ONE Fight Night 42 in April. But the contest was pushed back to give ‘The Cobra’ the chance to fully observe Ramadan and enter the most important night of his career at full capacity.

Shamil Gasanov made the request himself. ONE Championship granted it. The result has been a fully sharpened, fully prepared challenger arriving at fight week without any compromise to his preparation or his faith.

In an exclusive pre-fight interview with ONE Championship, the Peresvet Fight Team and Tiger Muay Thai product explained the rationale behind the rescheduled date.

“This fight was originally planned for April, but I asked the promotion to give me more time to prepare since I was in Ramadan and couldn’t fully prepare for this fight. And they gave me more time, and I was able to prepare better for the fight,” Shamil Gasanov told the promotion.

Shamil Gasanov’s elite grappling could be the perfect kryptonite for Tang Kai’s striking

The stylistic divide between the two fighters could not be wider. Tang Kai has built his 19-3 resume with 15 knockouts on the back of devastating striking, and he is, without question, the most feared puncher in the featherweight MMA division.

Shamil Gasanov, though, is precisely the kind of opponent any pure striker dreads to share the Circle with.

The Russian’s wrestling base, sharpened over years in Dagestan and refined under the lights of ONE Championship, has dismantled elite striking specialists time and again — including Kim Jae Woong, Aaron Canarte, and former kingpin Martin Nguyen.

If ‘The Cobra’ can drag the ONE featherweight MMA world champion to the canvas, control top position, and chain his suffocating attacks together, Tang’s path to defending his crown becomes drastically more complicated.
