Manchester United regretting Marcus Rashford transfer agreement with Barcelona
Senior figures at Manchester United have been left scratching their heads at the terms of the deal that is expected to see them sell Marcus Rashford to Barcelona for just £26m this summer.
Senior figures at Manchester United have been left regretting the deal to sell Marcus Rashford to Barcelona for £26m. Rashford has revived his flagging career since joining the Spanish giants on loan last summer. He has scored 10 goals in 35 appearances and won back his place in Thomas Tuchel’s England squad.
United believe Rashford’s value is now closer to £50m – and know several other clubs are interested in signing him this summer. But United agreed to give Barca first option to sign him for no more than £26m when the loan deal was struck between the two clubs.
It’s understood some senior figures at United have been left frustrated by the terms of the agreement. And with Rashford desperate to make his move to the Nou Camp permanent, Barca could look to exploit this by attempting to negotiate an even lower price for the forward.

There have been suggestions interim boss Michael Carrick would like to have Rashford back at United. But there is no recall clause in the loan deal, meaning he couldn’t go back to United even if all parties wanted him to. United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe remains keen to get Rashford off the club’s wage bill.

But he is not looking forward to the prospect of allowing Barca to land the 28-year-old on the cheap. While Rashford was one of United’s highest-paid stars, he is only the sixth biggest earner in the Barca squad.
And it’s understood Barca boss Hansi Flick is keen to keep Rashford long term. Rashford has bought a luxurious apartment in the affluent suburb of Esplugues with views of the Collserola mountains, and is said to be loving life in Catalonia.
His £15m-a-year contract with United runs until 2028. But Rashford has told those close to him he has no intention of ever returning to his hometown club, having made the difficult decision to take his career elsewhere.
Rashford is expected to be included in Tuchel’s final squad for this summer’s World Cup in North America.

Three ducks in a row: Abhishek Sharma out for zero vs the Netherlands; yet to score a run in T20 World Cup | Cricket News
NEW DELHI: How many ducks are too many ducks? India opener Abhishek Sharma might be asking himself as he was again dismissed for zero and failed to score even a single run in the last group-stage match of the T20 World Cup against the Netherlands on Wednesday. The left-handed batter was bowled on the third ball of the first over by Dutch off-spinner Aryan Dutt.Dutt pitched the ball at the back of a length on the middle and off stump, and it skidded in with the angle. Abhishek had a wild swipe at it, which was perhaps coming after the two dots, but missed it completely, and the ball hits the leg stump.
This was the third duck in a row for Abhishek in the T20 World Cup. The southpaw has endured a difficult T20 World Cup campaign so far. He began with a golden duck against the USA in India’s opening match and was later hospitalised in New Delhi due to a stomach infection, which ruled him out of the clash against Namibia. On his return against Pakistan on Sunday, he was dismissed for another duck.Earlier, India won the toss and elected to bat first against the Netherlands in their final group stage match of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Wednesday.FOLLOW LIVEThe Men in Blue, who have already qualified for the Super Eights, will be looking to end the league stage with four wins out of four matches, building momentum ahead of the next stage. The Netherlands, meanwhile, will be aiming for an upset in a tournament that has so far showcased strong performances from several associate cricket teams.Speaking at the toss, Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav confirmed two changes to the playing XI. Arshdeep Singh, the left-arm pacer, comes in for Kuldeep Yadav, while Axar Patel has been “rested” and Washington Sundar gets a game.Suryakumar said, “We are going to bat first. It looks like a good surface. We want to put runs on the board and put some pressure on the bowlers to defend the total. The mood in the camp is really good and they are playing the brand of cricket I want them to play. Every game, someone is putting their hand up and that is good to see. We have two changes – Arshdeep comes in for Kuldeep, Axar is resting and Washington comes in.”India (Playing XI): Ishan Kishan(w), Abhishek Sharma, Tilak Varma, Suryakumar Yadav(c), Hardik Pandya, Shivam Dube, Rinku Singh, Washington Sundar, Varun Chakaravarthy, Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep SinghNetherlands (Playing XI): Michael Levitt, Max O’Dowd, Bas de Leede, Colin Ackermann, Scott Edwards (w/c), Zach Lion-Cachet, Roelof van der Merwe, Logan van Beek, Aryan Dutt, Kyle Klein, Noah Croes.

Huge blow! Matheesha Pathirana ruled out of T20 World Cup, IPL 2026 in doubt | Cricket News
Sri Lanka have been forced into a change in their squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup after fast bowler Matheesha Pathirana was ruled out with injury. Pacer Dilshan Madushanka has been officially cleared as his replacement.Pathirana picked up a muscle strain during Sri Lanka’s Group B clash against Australia national cricket team on Monday in Pallekele, a match the hosts won by eight wickets. The setback occurred early in his spell, cutting short his involvement in the game.
Confirming the change, “The Event Technical Committee of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 has approved Dilshan Madushanka as a replacement for Matheesha Pathirana in the Sri Lanka squad,”the ICC said in a release. The right-arm quick had bowled just three deliveries against Australia before discomfort forced him to stop. He was unable to complete the over, having previously featured in Sri Lanka’s matches against Ireland and Oman. The injury is also a concern for his Indian Premier League franchise, Kolkata Knight Riders. The three-time champions invested INR 18 crore in Pathirana. With Mustafizur Rahman already released and Harshit Rana facing uncertainty for IPL 2026, the latest setback compounds their pace-bowling worries. The incident unfolded when he delivered a ball to Australia captain Mitchell Marsh and immediately clutched his left leg in visible pain. Although early commentary suggested a hamstring issue, it was later confirmed as a muscle strain. The team physio rushed out, but Pathirana had to be assisted off the field, with Dasun Shanaka completing the remaining deliveries of the over.

Sahibzada Farhan: Once challenged Babar Azam, made documentary on hitting sixes off Bumrah, now a World Cup centurion | Cricket News
TimesofIndia.com in Colombo: Sahibzada Farhan has rarely been out of the news. From making a documentary after hitting Jasprit Bumrah for three sixes during the Asia Cup, to picking Ahmad Shehzad over legends like Sachin Tendulkar and Brian Lara, or his gunshot celebration after scoring a fifty against India, Farhan has never shied away from expressing himself.Having gone unsold in the Pakistan Super League, he finished as the leading run scorer in domestic cricket. He’s also challenged Pakistan cricket management over the lack of opportunities at the top of the order. On Wednesday, the 29-year-old completed a remarkable full circle at the Sinhalese Sports Club Ground in Colombo, becoming only the second Pakistani batter to score a century in T20 World Cup history, after his idol Ahmad Shehzad.Ahmad Shehzad was among the first to applaud Farhan’s outstanding knock. He wrote on X: “A historic century in the T20 World Cup and now the second Pakistani ever to achieve this milestone. I always believed in you and you proved your class to the world. Congratulations, champion. So happy for your achievement.”

Farhan produced a memorable hundred to steer Pakistan to a commanding 199 for 3 against Namibia. It was an uphill chase for Namibia, and the fall of wickets at regular intervals also didn’t help their case, as they skittled for 97 runs. Pakistan defeated Namibia by 102 runs and with this convincing win the Salman Ali Agha-led team cemented their place in the Super Eight.
Scratchy start
Opting to bat first, Pakistan made two changes from their heavy defeat against India, leaving out Shaheen Shah Afridi and Abrar Ahmed. Khawaja Nafay and Salman Mirza were brought in, with Afridi’s omission following a poor outing against India. The start was cautious. JJ Smit delivered an excellent opening over, keeping Saim Ayub on the back foot with movement into the batter before finishing with an outswinger. Just three runs came from it. Farhan opened his account with a boundary off Gerhard Erasmus, courtesy of a misfield at cover, but Namibia kept things tight early.Ayub showed flashes of intent against Ruben Trumpelmann with a swivel off his pads, though he rode his luck as a thick outside edge flew past a diving Zane Green. That over yielded 12 runs and allowed Pakistan some breathing space.Jack Brassell’s introduction unsettled Farhan initially with his back of a length bowling, but the opener finally broke free when a delivery flew over the keeper for four, his first authoritative stroke after 24 balls. Confidence followed quickly as Farhan struck back to back boundaries off Trumpelmann.Ayub’s stay ended in the fifth over. A harmless wide delivery tempted him into a loose poke and he edged behind for 14. Captain Salman Ali Agha then joined Farhan and immediately injected momentum with a crisp cut past the point.Pakistan reached 47 for 1 at the end of the powerplay, but the middle overs brought pressure. Spinners Willem Myburgh and Bernard Scholtz bowled with discipline, conceding little and choking strike rotation.

Finding his groove
The release came when Salman danced down the track to loft Myburgh straight for the first six of the match. Farhan followed three balls later, clearing mid wicket twice as Myburgh’s second over went for 22. Farhan was visibly struggling with cramps but refused to slow down.At the halfway stage, Pakistan were 85 for 1. Salman continued to attack, swiping Smit over fine leg and lifting Scholtz for another six. Farhan reached his fifty off 37 balls, scratchy but effective, built on perseverance rather than fluency. The 67-run stand ended when Brassell induced a mistimed loft from Salman, who departed for a brisk 38. Salman had also played a key role in helping Farhan refine his technique against short-pitched bowling.“Salman gave me valuable tips that helped improve my balance and on-side play. Now I’m scoring more freely in that area,” Farhan had told Geo Super during PSL 2025.Khawaja Nafay was sent ahead of Babar Azam and struck a boundary first ball, but his stay was brief as Erasmus removed him with a well-judged catch.Shadab Khan walked in next, and Pakistan’s intent was clear. Farhan, now in full flow despite severe cramps, accessed his fourth gear. He hammered Smit over long off, forcing a ball change, and greeted the new ball with another boundary. Brassell was then taken apart for a six and a four as Farhan closed in on history. On his knees between deliveries, Farhan finally reached his century off 57 balls, raising his arm in celebration. He became only the second Pakistani to score a T20 World Cup hundred. The knock was built on resolve, muscle and perfect timing, and was studded with eleven fours and four sixes. His fifty came off 37 balls, and he raced to the next fifty in just 20.Shadab provided the finishing touches with an unbeaten 36 off 22 balls as Pakistan posted 199 for 3, powered by a defining innings from Sahibzada Farhan.
The rocky journey
Farhan made his international debut in 2018. His career began in bizarre fashion, stumped without facing a ball off a Glenn Maxwell wide. In his next game against Australia, he opened with Babar Azam and scored 39 off 38 balls. He played nine matches for Pakistan, batting at multiple positions, before being pushed down the order and fading from the setup. In 2024, while captaining Pakistan A, he publicly criticised the management for unfair treatment and challenged the opening slots of Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan. “I did not get proper chances as an opener. I have the right to play as an opener for Pakistan,” he said then.Despite aggregating 605 runs in the 2025 National T20 Cup – the most in a single season – Farhan initially went unsold at the PSL 2025 auction. Islamabad United later picked him in the supplementary category, and he repaid the faith by finishing as the tournament’s leading run scorer with 449 runs in 12 innings.Farhan once dreamed of becoming a fast bowler. “I started as a fast bowler in tape-ball cricket, but after a disastrous over, my coach asked me to focus on batting,” he had told Cricfrenzy during the BPL.After a long and rocky journey, the explosive opener has found his groove. Since 2025, he is the only batter in the world to score five T20 centuries. If Pakistan are to go deep in the tournament, much will depend on how Farhan bats at the top.Cricket careers rarely move in straight lines, and Farhan’s has been anything but smooth. Yet on a humid Colombo afternoon, the opener who once waited on the fringes, questioned, doubted and overlooked, answered every question the only way that truly matters in cricket – with runs.Brief Scores Pakistan: 199 for 4 in 20 overs (Sahibzada Farhan 100 not out, Salman Agha 38, Shadab Khan 36 not out; Jack Brassell 2/48)Namibia: (Louren Steenkamp 23, Alexander Busing-Volschenk 20; Shadab Khan 3/19, Usman Tariq 4/16)

1) Glen Powell as Becket Redfellow

Glen Powell plays Becket Redfellow in How to Make a Killing, a working-class man who sets out to get back what is rightfully his. Powell got his start playing small roles in movies like Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over and Fast Food Nation before slowly picking up his film and television career.
He was in The Expendables 3 and the comedy-horror series Scream Queens, which led to recognition for roles in Everybody Wants Some!! and Set It Up. Powell has played historical figures such as astronaut John Glenn in Hidden Figures and pilot Tom Hudner in Devotion, Top Gun: Maverick and the romantic comedy Anyone but You were the works that brought him a major leap in popularity.
He is also a co-writer and producer of the dark comedy Hit Man, in which he stars and has obtained a Golden Globe nomination. Besides starring in the movie, Powell is also an executive producer of the film.
2) Margaret Qualley as Julia Steinway

Margaret Qualley takes on the role of Julia Steinway, the Becket’s friend from childhood. She is the daughter of actress Andie MacDowell. Before she started acting, Qualley trained as a ballerina. On the small screen, he has played roles in The Night Of, The Outsider, and The Queen’s Gambit. Deontay Wilder shares true feelings on Malik Scott after 3 losses in 4 fights forces trainer split
Deontay Wilder is on the verge of a must-win fight against Derek Chisora, heading into a first major contest with his new head trainer.
Leading up that fight ‘The Bronze Bomber’ has opened up on his feelings towards former coach, Malik Scott, following their split.
Wilder knocked Scott out back in 2014 but appointed the Philadelphia-born heavyweight as his head trainer in 2021, ahead of his fabled trilogy clash with Tyson Fury.
Whilst Wilder was unable to regain the heavyweight throne against ‘The Gypsy King’, the difference between his performance in the third fight compared to their rematch was clear for all to see, and that was enough to convince Wilder that Scott should remain in his corner.
Yet, Wilder would go on to win only one of his four contests under Scott’s tutelage, defeating Robert Helenius by first round knockout but losing out to both Joseph Parker and Zhilei Zhang to seemingly end any possibility of regaining his world title.
In an interview with talkSPORT, Wilder revealed that Scott was not to blame for any of those losses, stating that he could have had the legendary Emanuel Steward in his corner and it would not have changed the outcomes.
“Malik and I never had a plan in place in terms of how long we would work together, but I think he did an amazing job.
“I could have had Emanuel Steward in my corner, and the results would have been the same because mentally I wasn’t there anymore.
“The results that happened when Malik was here were not his fault. The way I look at it, we both won. He built me up to where I am now mentally, and I helped him boost his resume as a trainer.”
Last year, Wilder made the decision to move on from Scott, upgrading coach Don House, who has trained over 28 champions in UFC and boxing, to lead cornerman – a move which Wilder labelled as a ‘natural transition’.
“He’s usually the head trainer, but when he first came on board with me, he had no problem stepping to one side and doing certain things to be a part of the team.
“Now, it’s the time for him to step up, and he took the opportunity with both hands. Don and I were getting to know each other while Malik was in that spot, so when the transition happened, it was natural.
“I always knew he was a great trainer, but just because you are a great trainer doesn’t mean you are the right fit for a certain type of fighter.
“A trainer and a fighter have to have a bond. So once we built the relationship, I felt he was ready to take over.”
In his solitary fight with House in charge, Wilder registered a first victory in 32 months, as he halted Tyrrell Herndon to get back to winning ways.
Now, in their first major fight together, Wilder hopes to re-emerge as a title threat by overcoming Chisora on Saturday, April 4, at the O2 Arena in London.

American Jake Canter gets bronze at Winter Olympics
NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!
American Jake Canter had to wait what likely felt like a millennium to see whether he would finish on the podium in the men’s snowboard slopestyle at the Winter Olympics on Wednesday.
Canter was third after he scored a 79.36 on his final run in the competition. But he still had to wait for Canada’s Mark McMorris, Norway’s Marcus Kleveland and New Zealand’s Dane Menzies to complete their runs before he could celebrate.

From the bottom of the hill, Canter watched as McMorris crashed hard to the ground on his last jump. Kleveland had a terrific final run but only scored a 78.86. Menzies was the last snowboarder to go and he crashed out, lying on the ground in disbelief.
Canter finally celebrated as he learned he won the bronze medal.

It’s the first Olympic medal for Canter in his first Winter Olympics appearance. He was able to represent Team USA on the world stage after winning a World Cup competition in Aspen, Colorado, during the 2025-26 season. In that event, he topped Su and Menzies.
The World Cup season will pick back up in March when the events move to Flachau, Austria, and Sivapalan, Switzerland.
