Only 5 Fantasy Shows Are Better Than ‘Supernatural’

Published

on

Characters from Arcane stand together in a jungle and look solemn in Season 2, Episode 6.

Everyone loves a good fantasy series—a product that will take the audiences off their couches and whisk them away to another world unlike their own, because sometimes, the real world is a bit too hard. However, if someone’s going to spend their time in another world, it had better be a good one. One of the best in television history is the series known as Supernatural. It has its critics, sure, but it’s also hard to argue with the whopping 15 seasons they received—even crossing over with the Scooby-Doo franchise.

This doesn’t mean that Supernatural is the greatest fantasy series ever created (well, to most people), though. There have been some iconic, phenomenal television shows from the fantasy genre over the decades, and that’s provided audiences with plenty of them finding themselves being better than one of the pinnacle shows, Supernatural. Whether they’re in a world that reminisces ours, one way far back into the ages of knights, or even a steampunk-ish reality, all of these shows have something that sets them above the rest. Yes… even Supernatural.

One of the greatest series that Netflix originals has ever put out is, without a doubt, the fantasy/science fiction series, Arcane. It’s been able to take over the world because it takes the best of both fantasy and sci-fi genres and merges them into an amazing animated fantasy series with a steampunk makeup job. Based on the fantasy world built within the video game franchise, League of Legends, Arcane is exciting and thrilling. Fans of this franchise would never have guessed it’d birth something like this project, in the best way. This two-season journey made the ever-vast and diverse universe of League of Legends accessible to so many other people who have never touched or even heard of the actual game.

Audiences fell in love with the likes of Vi (Hailee Steinfeld), Jinx (Ella Purnell), Ekko (Reed Shannon), Viktor (Harry Lloyd), Jayce (Kevin Alejandro), and the many other characters in this universe almost immediately in 2021. The way that the show pretty much perfectly blends fantasy with the other steampunk elements that contrast it in all the best ways makes it so engrossing. While it may not last a massive 15 seasons, the two that it did stay on the air for are more than worth the watch and leave viewers feeling satisfied. With the journey they went on. Would people have taken more seasons of Arcane? Most definitely. But many would argue that where it ended is very fulfilling and wrapped things up neatly.

‘Games of Thrones’ (2011–2019)

Based on the extremely popular book series by George R. R. Martin—similarly titled, A Game of Thronesthis HBO show is one of the most impactful and important shows in television history. Game of Thrones was the biggest show in the world for quite some time. It brought record viewership to the studio and that popularity led to an ever-increasing budget, which made it have some of the largest scope on T.V. The first season’s budget was estimated to be somewhere between $50 million and $60 million, eventually leading to the last season having a budget of roughly $15 million per episode. With a budget like that, some amazing content was produced.

While people didn’t enjoy some of the last season, that doesn’t mean that the seven that came before that weren’t awesome. There’s a reason it’s not only become one of the largest television shows ever made, but one of the biggest fantasy franchises, period—up there with The Lord of the Rings. It’s hard not to love something with this much love, care, and effort placed into it. Everyone in the cast—who all gave almost perfect performances—and crew clearly had so much dedication to the series, trying to make it the best it could be (for most of the series). No series is perfect, no, but for the majority of its run, Game of Thrones feels like it came pretty close. Success at the scale and density this series experienced doesn’t just come out of nowhere. It has to be earned, and this show certainly did.

‘Adventure Time’ (2010–2018)

If people are looking for proof that animated shows for all audiences can stand up against and even be better than live-action ones, they need to look no further than the likes of Adventure Time. It has all the makings of a show that can be viewed by younger audiences (goofy humor, bright colors, etc.) but also includes plots, themes, and messages that older audiences can not only enjoy, but that they can relate to, as well. These factors are all the most important things that are needed to make a successful animated series, also making Adventure Time a show that helped set the standard for modern 2010s cartoons—fantasy or otherwise. Adventure Time was so successful that it got to run an incredible 10 seasons, a whole eight years. The world is beyond fun, with diverse biomes all across their planet that are fun, funky, and very fantasy-inspired.

The lighthearted tone is a huge part of what makes it so enjoyable to such a wide array of audiences, and, even to this day, it remains one of the best fantasy shows out there, given how much it can stand out among the rest. It’s not an easy genre to stand out in, either, which makes Adventure Time all the more impressive in the long run. Jake the Dog (John DiMaggio) and Finn the Human (Jeremy Shada) are a duo that are super entertaining to watch, and their friendship solidifies itself as the beating heart of the show. Everyone loves a sweet, “hopecore” show about friendship and how important it is.

Your Race

The Hobbits

You are, at your core, a creature of comfort, community, and quiet joy — and there is nothing small about that. Hobbits are proof that heroism does not require ambition, that the bravest heart can beat inside the most unassuming chest. You value good food, warm hearths, close friends, and a world that stays largely untroubled by dark lords and quests. When adventure does find you — and it will — you rise to it not because you sought it, but because the people you love needed you to. That is not ordinary. That is the rarest kind of courage in all of Middle-earth.

🌟

Your Race

The Elves

Ancient, graceful, and carrying a weight of memory most mortals cannot fathom, you are one of the Elves. You see the world in its fullness — its beauty, its impermanence, the unbearable ache of watching everything you love eventually fade. You pursue perfection not from pride, but because excellence is how you honour the time you have been given. Others may see you as remote or melancholy. They are not wrong, exactly. But they mistake depth for distance. You feel everything — which is precisely why you have learned to carry it so quietly.

⚒️

Your Race

The Dwarves

Stubborn, proud, fiercely loyal, and possessed of a work ethic that would exhaust most other races before breakfast — you are Dwarf-kind through and through. You do not ask for approval and you do not offer it cheaply. Your loyalty, once given, is given for life. Your grudges last longer. You love deeply and defend ferociously, and the things you build — with your hands, with your sweat, with generations of accumulated craft — are made to last. Not for glory. Because anything worth doing is worth doing properly, and you have never once done anything by half measures.

⚔️

Your Race

The Race of Men

Mortal, ambitious, flawed, and magnificent — you belong to the most complicated race in Middle-earth, and that complexity is your greatest strength. Men are capable of cowardice and extraordinary bravery, of cruelty and breathtaking sacrifice, sometimes within the same breath. You feel the urgency of your finite years, and it drives you. You want to matter. You want to leave something behind. You fall, and you rise, and the rising is what defines you. Tolkien called mortality the Gift of Men — not a curse, but a fire that burns bright precisely because it does not burn forever. That fire is you.

💀

Your Race

The Orcs

Brutal, survivalist, and contemptuous of anything that can’t defend itself — you answered with the instincts of an Orc, and there is a certain savage honesty in that. You do not dress up your desires in polite language or pretend you want things you don’t. You want power, survival, and to never be at the bottom of any hierarchy ever again. Orcs are not evil by nature — they were made from something that was once good, and broken into this shape by forces they did not choose. What remains is fierce, territorial, and deeply aware that the world is not kind. You’ve made your peace with that. The question is what you do with it.

With how successful Game of Thrones ended up being, it only makes sense that HBO cashed in on that success and branched it off into a franchise, based on other works by George R. R. Martin. The most successful and well-received of the two that have come after the 2011 show is, without a doubt, this year’s A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. This project takes a far more grounded and intimate approach to storytelling in comparison to Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon, which has helped people connect to it more, and invest deeper into the characters. After two whole shows that have gigantic casts with multiple protagonists, getting to sit back and take a journey with just two

Following the two underdog characters known as Ser Duncan the Tall (Peter Claffey) and Egg (Dexter Sol Ansell), A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is a prequel to Games of Thrones and a sequel to House of the Dragon. This newborn series shows that the franchise from George R. R. Martin has the potential to keep living, despite what some thought after the first prequel series’ second season. The world in this universe is a vast one filled with many characters left to meet and stories left to tell. People want more Game of Thrones and A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is proof of why exactly that is. Regardless if one thinks the franchise as a whole should continue, almost everyone who’s seen it can say that, without a doubt, they want to see more of Ser Duncan the Tall and the ever-lovable Egg.

Avatar: The Last Airbender is not only a great fantasy series, but is genuinely one of the greatest television shows ever put on screen, still being hailed as such over 20 years after it aired for the first time. The animation—done by the exceptional Nickelodeon Animation Studio—is fluid, fast-paced, and extremely expressive. It’s one of the most well-animated Nickelodeon shows of all time. That, paired with the beautiful, anime-based art style, makes Avatar: The Last Airbender a visual marvel the entire way through. Thousands of frames from this series could be hung on the wall of an art gallery, and the art only continues to get better, sharper, and cleaner as the series progresses into its second and third seasons.

To make matters better, on the other hand of the series—directing and storytelling—there’s just as much quality, if not more so. Avatar: The Last Airbender can be a genuine masterclass in good storytelling, character writing, and natural-feeling dialogue work. Not to mention, the same that was said about this show’s art applies to writing, too—it truly does only improve as the episodes goes on and the characters and plots are allowed to grow and expand. Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, the creators of the series, created something that branched into a franchise that truly feels like it had the legs to last for a very long time, still being actively developed today. All of this was only made possible because of how genuinely amazing Avatar: The Last Airbender truly is, and the way that it has stood the test of time to still be one of the best of the best to this very day.

Woman From Viral Pacers Couple Bashes Shaquille O’Neal

Published

on

UPDATE — 4/13/26, 7:37 p.m. ET: Grace, who went viral with her boyfriend Michael at a recent Indiana Pacers game, has clarified her comments about Shaquille O’Neal after her Inside the NBA appearance.

“I am a private person that has been thrown into the public eye unexpectedly and am doing my best to navigate it with good humor,” she said in a statement shared with Us Weekly. “The two of us had a wonderful time on the show- Shaq did absolutely nothing to make us uncomfortable and I do not view him as “creepy” at all. I was attempting a joke about my flustered reaction in the midst of a high pressure situation. We have nothing but admiration and appreciation for the hosts hospitality and the joy they’ve brought us over the years. Go Pacers.”

Original story below:

One half of the Indiana Pacers fan couple that has taken the NBA world by storm over the last week seems to be over the rush of media attention.

Grace, who went viral with her boyfriend, Michael, after cameras caught them arguing at a Pacers game on Thursday, April 9, even compared Shaquille O’Neal to a “creepy horny uncle” following an appearance on ESPN’s Inside the NBA.

“Shaq was like a creepy horny uncle trying to embarrass his nephew and I went along with it until the bit got embarrassing and I was like alright chill,” Grace wrote via X on Monday, April 13.

She continued, “I’m glad my bf got to meet the people whose videos he shows me constantly but God I am ready to be done with Sports people. I have found u generally exhausting and, forgive me for saying so, I mean this respectfully, not smart in the ways that matter to me. TO ME.”

O’Neal pressed Michael, saying that he didn’t buy that story, based on Grace’s expression. Michael only replied that the couple prefers to keep their private conversations private.

Maria Shriver Slams President Donald Trump for Pope Comment

Published

on

Maria Shriver has strongly condemned President Donald Trump for his scathing criticism of Pope Leo XIV.

“We all deserve better, and we all can speak up and demand better,” Shriver, 70, wrote via Instagram on Monday, March 13. “The job of President requires composure, compassion, and the ability not to react to anything and everything you do not like. We deserve better!”

Trump unleashed a verbal attack on Pope Leo XIV, 70, via his Truth Social social media platform on Sunday, April 13, calling the religious leader “weak on crime and terrible for foreign policy.” (Leo — formerly known as Cardinal Robert Prevost — became the first American pope in the Catholic Church’s 2,000-year history in March 2025.)

“[The pope] talks about ‘fear’ of the Trump Administration, but doesn’t mention the FEAR that the Catholic Church, and all other Christian Organizations, had during COVID when they were arresting priests, ministers and everybody else, for holding Church Services, even when going outside, and being ten and even twenty feet apart,” Trump, 79, complained on Sunday.

As President Donald Trump continues to reshape the White House and Washington D.C. in his image, a group of experts are warning that his desire to use “magic paint” on an iconic building is “incompatible” with reality. According to a Saturday, April 11, report from CNN, Trump, 79, has “privately advocated” for the Eisenhower Executive […]

The president continued, “I don’t want a Pope who criticizes the President of the United States because I’m doing exactly what I was elected, IN A LANDSLIDE, to do, setting Record Low Numbers in Crime, and creating the Greatest Stock Market in History.”

Shriver — a devout Roman Catholic — has been a frequent critic of Trump over the years. In this case, she not only took issue with President Trump’s dustup with the Pope but also his decision to post an AI image depicting himself as Jesus Christ. (The AI photo was widely condemned by Trump’s political opponents and it was later removed. President Trump subsequently claimed that he thought the photo showed him “as a doctor and had to do with [the] Red Cross.”)

“I was enraged about the picture and I was also stunned that [Trump] was attacking the Pope, a deeply religious man [and] a deeply peaceful man,” Shriver explained via Instagram on Monday. “[The Pope] has used his voice in a socially conscious way, in a peaceful way, in a way that rises above the noise, in a way that makes us all think about the cost of war, the price of war and whether this is something we really want to be involved in, which is his job.”

(The Pope urged the Trump administration to end the war in Iran during his Easter message on April 5, calling the conflict a “delusion of omnipotence” and a “discourse of death.”)

“I know many people who voted for this President and I know they didn’t vote for this,” Shriver insisted. “I know many of them to be good and kind people. … This is clearly a person who is dangerous, unreliable. ‘Unhinged’ doesn’t even begin to cover it.”

Shriver argued that America is strongly in need of a wartime leader “who is calm [and] knows how to manage their emotions.”

“This is a plea to the people who are also [working] with him,” Shriver went on. “Come on! Are you not concerned about what is going on? The whole world is concerned … You can do something to stop this. You can do something to teach someone about emotional regulation, about the fact that this isn’t all about him. This is about all of us.”

She declared, “We deserve so much better. Those who voted for this man and those who didn’t! … We deserve a person in this job who is safe, who is consistent, who is reliable and who will manage their emotions. And who doesn’t depict himself as Jesus Christ.”

Amid ongoing hostilities between the White House and the Vatican, Pope Leo XIV assured reporters on Monday that he will not be intimidated.

“I have no fear of the Trump administration or speaking out loudly of the message of the Gospel, which is what I believe I am here to do,” the Pope said.

For this part, Trump has refused to back down from his criticism of Pope Leo XIV during a brief press conference at the White House on Monday.

“[The Pope] was very much against what I’m doing with regard to Iran, and you cannot have a nuclear Iran. Pope Leo would not be happy with the end result,” Trump told the White House press pool. “I think he’s very weak on crime and other things so I’m not [going to apologize].”

Us Weekly has reached out to the White House for a comment on Shriver’s video.

CBS Needs To Make a Bold Call With ‘NCIS’ Starting With Timothy McGee

Published

on

Brian Dietzen (playing Dr. Jimmy Palmer) and Katrina Law (playing Special Agent Jessica Knight) from NCIS

After over two decades on network television, NCIS is one of the longest-running police procedurals of all time. Since then, all the original cast members have exited the series for various reasons. This leaves Sean Murray‘s Timothy McGee as the most tenured character since his introduction back in Season 1, Episode 7, “Sub Rosa.” Although McGee was only intended to be a one-time guest star, he became a recurring character in Season 1 before being promoted to series regular in Season 2. With 23 seasons’ worth of character development, it looks like McGee is leveling up to a position he’s perfect for.

With a milestone of 500 episodes, the NCIS creative team was definitely going to deliver an episode that would impact the show in a big way. In a shocking twist, NCIS Director Leon Vance (Rocky Carroll) died saving the agency. He’s been a staple of the series since the end of Season 5, when he officially took on the role of NCIS Director following the death of Jenny Shepard (Lauren Holly). After 18 seasons, the federal agency needs a new director, and they already have the perfect person to lead: Tim McGee.

Timothy McGee Is Destined To Be the NCIS Director

McGee was first introduced as a probationary agent (aka “probie”) back in Season 1, referring to NCIS Senior Agent Tony DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly) as “sir” in a very timid and insecure manner. While it took some time, McGee experienced so much character development once he joined Gibbs and DiNozzo on the Major Crimes Response Team (MCRT). Even though DiNozzo would give him goofy nicknames, McGee pushed back and earned the respect of his peers. McGee earned the status of being a Senior Field Agent with his dedication to the job and extreme care for every case. Even when he and his partner, Delilah Fielding (Margo Harshman), experienced a personal tragedy, McGee came back even stronger. McGee is truly the most well-balanced character of NCIS as he’s able to prioritize his personal life over the job.

When Gibbs retired from NCIS, he gave his blessing for McGee to take over MCRT. But seeing how Gibbs was, he knew the strain it would have on his life, so he respectfully passed on the position because his family came above anything else. But that doesn’t mean McGee doesn’t love NCIS. When Vance had to step away from his directorial duties, McGee happily filled in and did a good job at running the agency. In Season 22, McGee applied to be NCIS Deputy Director but sadly lost the position to Department of Justice Inspector Gabriel LaRoche (Seamus Dever). While it seemed like McGee’s growth was at a standstill, Season 23 is giving fans hope that McGee will finally get the recognition he deserves.

In the 500th episode of NCIS, Vance says, “McGee is destined to lead, and leaders know when to ask for permission and where to ask for forgiveness.” The director of a global agency singling out McGee as a leader is a huge moment that speaks volumes. With over 20 years of experience on MCRT, McGee has led various agents, such as Ellie Bishop (Emily Wickersham), Nick Torres (Wilmer Valderrama), and Jessica Knight (Katrina Law). He’s even worked with agents in other offices, like Sam Hanna (LL Cool J), G. Callen (Chris O’Donnell), and Dwayne Pride (Scott Bakula). With his relationship with various people across the entire agency, McGee would be a perfect leader and have a huge number of supporters. As a husband and a father to two kids, McGee has a constant fear that each day might be his last, considering the risk he takes as a Senior Field Agent. Putting him in the Director position would still paint a target on his back, but at least he would see less action. While that sounds like a punishment, it’s a big evolution for McGee.

With Cyber Ops Tech Operator Curtis Hubley (J. Claude Deering) returning in NCIS Season 23, Episode 15, the show is also hinting that he could be McGee’s replacement on MCRT. Throughout his recurring appearances, Hubley has been vocal about one day becoming a probie. It would be a full circle moment to see McGee usher in a new probie and share his wisdom after his years of experience. Even if McGee becomes NCIS Director, fans don’t have to worry about seeing less of their fan-favorite NCIS character. Vance has had a strong presence throughout the series, and that shouldn’t change if McGee takes on this role. It would be interesting to see McGee continue to provide his expertise to MCRT, even if it’s just bouncing off theories or using his new power as NCIS Director to speed through any red tape.

NCIS‘ 500th episode is a major turning point for the series and foreshadows even more great stories for seasons to come. There’s a reason why the show has gone on for 23 seasons and continues to maintain its loyal fanbase. With McGee as the most tenured character on the show, it’s finally time to see him get a big character moment that changes the status quo moving forward. He’s become the face of the NCIS franchise since Gibbs’ exit in Season 19, and he has more than proven himself worthy of becoming a leader of the global agency.

New episodes of NCIS Season 23 drop on Tuesdays. The series is streaming on Paramount+.

Vice President JD Vance — a Catholic convert — has weighed in on President Donald Trump’s feud with Pope Leo XIV, suggesting the religious leader should “stick to matters of morality.”

“When it comes to the disagreements with the Vatican, we’re going to have disagreements from time to time,” Vance, 41, told Fox News on Monday, April 13. “I think it’s a good thing actually that the Pope is advocating for the things that he cares about. But we’re always going to have disagreements on matters of public policy.”

The Vice President went on, “The Pope has been critical of our immigration policy but ultimately the immigration policy of the United States is set by Donald Trump. The Pope is going to have disagreements on other issues. We certainly respect the Pope, we certainly have a good relationship with the Vatican.”

Vice President Vance said it was “totally reasonable” for the Vatican and the White House to disagree on “substantive” issues, though he also suggested it may be best if Pope Leo, 70, stayed out of U.S. foreign policy.

Maria Shriver Slams President Donald Trump for Pope Comment

Maria Shriver has strongly condemned President Donald Trump for his scathing criticism of Pope Leo XIV. “We all deserve better, and we all can speak up and demand better,” Shriver, 70, wrote via Instagram on Monday, March 13. “The job of President requires composure, compassion, and the ability not to react to anything and everything […]

“[President Trump] has to look out for the interests of the United States of America,” the politician argued. “That inevitably means that when the Vatican comments on issues of public policy, sometimes there’s going to be agreement and sometimes there’s going to be disagreement. … I certainly think that, in some cases, it would be best for the Vatican to stick to matters of morality, to stick to matters of what’s going on in the Catholic Church. Let the President of the United States stick to dictating public policy.”

He added, “When they’re in conflict, they’re in conflict. I don’t worry about it too much … I think it’s a natural thing. I’m sure it will happen in the future.”

Us Weekly has reached out to the Vatican for comment.

Vance converted to Catholicism at age 35 in August 2019 after growing up in an evangelical family.

Earlier this month, Pope Leo XIV came out strongly against the U.S. war in Iran during his Easter speech on April 5, calling the military conflict a “delusion of omnipotence” and a “discourse of death.”

President Trump fired back via Truth Social on Sunday, April 12, calling Pope Leo XIV “weak on crime and terrible for foreign policy.” He also claimed that the only reason Leo was selected as Pope in March 2025 was that the Vatican sought better relations with the White House by choosing an American.

His social media rant went on, “I don’t want a Pope who criticizes the President of the United States because I’m doing exactly what I was elected, IN A LANDSLIDE, to do, setting Record Low Numbers in Crime, and creating the Greatest Stock Market in History.”

Pope Leo responded on Monday by telling reporters that he had “no fear of the Trump administration or speaking out loudly of the message of the Gospel.”

That same day, President Trump stood by his criticism of the religious leader during a White House press conference.

“[The Pope] was very much against what I’m doing with regard to Iran, and you cannot have a nuclear Iran. Pope Leo would not be happy with the end result,” Trump told the assembled press. “I think he’s very weak on crime and other things so I’m not [going to apologize].”

Meanwhile, President Trump faced another religious backlash for posting an AI photo depicting himself as Jesus Christ on Sunday. The post was later removed from Truth Social when it sparked outrage from both political allies and opponents.

Trump attempted to downplay the controversy on Monday, telling the White House press pool that he thought the AI photo showed him “as a doctor and had to do with [the] Red Cross.”

Simone Ashley Addresses Bridgerton Loyalty Despite Decreased Scenes

Published

Bridgerton

Simone Ashley addressed her loyalty to Bridgerton despite her character Kate’s decreased screen time.

During the Monday, April 13, episode of “The Louis Theroux Podcast,” Ashley, 31, credited Jonathan Bailey for teaching her some important lessons about making Bridgerton a priority, adding, “He set a great example of — for lack of a better word — the loyalty to the show. It is a show about family and returning home and returning to the family. I think a lot of people follow that suit.”

Ashley “learned a lot” from Bailey, 37.

“Now when we go back, there is that environment of coming home and feeling like we’re part of a family,” she added. “I can only comment on what me and Johnny have done. We just really make sure that our schedules can just make it work.”

Ashley continued: “He flew between Toronto and London back and forth whilst he was filming Wicked. Thank God I’ve not been filming during the start of this year. I’ve done like eight cities in one month. So that would have been a bit nuts to figure out. But I would have done it. I would have scheduled it.”

Kate’s romance with Anthony (Bailey) was the focus of Bridgerton season 2. Since most of the season was focused on Anthony getting out of a courtship with her sister, Edwina (Charithra Chandran), before getting together with Kate, viewers were expecting the pair to play a large role in season 3.

Season 3, however, featured Anthony and Kate sharing only a handful of scenes before disappearing on a second honeymoon. They returned toward the end of the season to announce Kate’s pregnancy, which is when the pair decided to take a trip to India. Season 4, meanwhile, explained Anthony and Kate’s continued absence by keeping them in India after the arrival of their first baby.

“I think the strength of sending them off to India for a little while is that it does leave the door open for them to come back, schedules allowing,” Brownell told Teen Vogue of the characters in June 2024. “I think, understandably, when any of our lead actors have given over their lives for their season, in future seasons, we want to be supportive of the fact that they do have other projects coming in, and to ask actors to come back just to be in the background is not really fair to them.”

At the time, Brownell explained the planned vision for Kate and Anthony.

“I think after all they went through in their season, obviously, the focus for us this season was just showing them in a more loving place. But we also wanted to underscore how they’re still the Kate and Anthony you know,” she continued. “They still banter with each other and get annoyed at each other. We wanted them to show up in that way … They’re in a much wiser place, both of them, in their relationship to relationships.”

Brownell clarified why Anthony and thus Kate were barely in season 4, telling People, “I think for [Luke Thompson’s] Benedict in particular, it was important for Anthony to be elsewhere in part 1, to give Benedict a moment to struggle with the weight of being the second son who’s filling in for the viscount.”

She added: “For Anthony to be in India — or later in Aubrey Hall — it allows Benedict the chance to rise or to fail. It also felt incredibly important to bring Anthony back, because the relationship with Benedict is so key between the first and the second [parts of season 4].”

Bridgerton is currently streaming on Netflix.

Jennie Garth reveals the straw that broke the camel’s back during her previous marriage.

The actress met her second ex-husband, Peter Facinelli, in 1995, and they said their vows six years later. The union faced its ups and downs until it finally called it quits in 2012. Seeing the end of her marital bliss took a toll on the movie star as she turned to harmful substances, which almost cost her life.

Jennie Garth has since found love again and worked through her differences with her ex. The former couple now navigate around their blended family, which includes their current partners, Facinelli’s son, and the three daughters they welcomed during their 11-year marriage.

Garth recently described the moment the scales fell from her eyes concerning her marriage. She revealed that all it took for her to realize her marriage was over was a message from a marriage therapist. Looking back, the actress was hit with the hard truth about her relationship with Facinelli within two minutes of a counseling session. The union, which began in 2001, had been going through a rough patch, and in the bid to work things out, the pair agreed to look into professional help.

The former couple paid a visit to a marriage counseling expert in Phoenix, Arizona, and in a single session, Garth received the harsh reality check that dwelt behind the curtains. The actress recalled the moment in a recent episode of the “Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard” podcast, sharing the question the counselor asked that has lived rent-free in her mind all these years. The expert asked her why she would want to love someone when they dont love her, just two minutes into the session, and that was her wake-up call to realize the relationship had gone past fixing.

“Why would you love someone who doesn’t love you? Like, it’s echoing, I’ll never forget it. That just gutted me. And I was like, ‘Yeah. No sh-t. Give up. It’s time,’” the TV star shared. Apparently, Facinelli did not reciprocate the feelings she had for him; it took two special minutes in a marriage therapist’s office to see eleven years of love go down the drain.

Garth further shared that she left the office with overwhelming emotion, filled with the realization that she had to say goodbye to the love she once knew. She later found out that her ex-husband and the therapist had started driving around looking for her. After they found her in a distorted state, Facinelli and the marriage expert had to do a lot of convincing to get her into the car and back to a hotel. She shared, while speaking on the podcast, that she refused to get into the car initially, but somehow, they found a way to make her cooperate.

“I’m talking, walking, angry, crying, all the things, just like out of my mind. They are just like kind of keeping up with me in the car and saying, “Get in the car, you know, let’s let us take you to a hotel. Jen, come on, get in the car.” Like a friend. And I was like, why would I get in your car? What, what, no!” she recalled. When they got to the hotel, Garth recalled that her then-husband checked into a separate room, and with that, she got the memo once again; it was over.

Once she got into her room, the “Beverly Hills, 90210” star revealed that she started mixing alcohol with medication she had for flying to deal with the pain. Garth recounted that she called her best friend while at it and was on the phone with her till she passed out. She awoke in a hospital and realized she “could have died” in the hotel room had a friend not intervened. After that episode, the desire to forget the pain did not leave, so she started taking benzodiazepines.

The pain did not go away amid the drug use, alcohol consumption, and self-medication. Garth recalled that after taking so much alcohol and several pills, she ended up in the hospital. The Blast shares that while shedding light on a chapter of her new memoir, “I Choose Me,” she revealed that it got to a point where her stomach had to be pumped to flush the toxins out.

Turning to harmful substances was the only way she knew to deal with the pain, but after the actress landed in the hospital, she made the decision to tun her life around. Garth checked herself into the Canyon Ranch rehab center, where she got sober and learned to stop self-medicating.

The pain she was feeling about the end of her marriage did not stem from worry about how she was going to survive on her own, but according to the TV star, she was broken. At the rehab center, Garth realized that the lack of positive energy around her contributed heavily to her sadness, so she decided to make a conscious effort to change the situation. Ultimately, the actress decided to let go of the pain, forgive Facinelli, and move forward with her life.

Garth can look back and smile as she has since put the past behind her, fostering a beautiful co-parenting and friendly relationship with her ex-husband. According to the actress, she and her ex are now friends and are back to following each other on social media. Facinelli welcomed a son, Jack, with his partner, Lily Anne Harrison, and even invited his ex-wife to his son’s christening.

Last year, the “Twilight” actor also offered a roof to Garth and her family after the widespread Pacific Palisades wildfire forced them out of their homes. The Blast reported that Garth, her daughters, her current husband, and her dogs took shelter in Facinelli’s home until they were able to work out their living arrangements.

“I wanted to let you know that we are safe. Peter and his family took us in and have been so kind,” she wrote on her socials, updating her fans. Thankfully, their home was spared from the wildfire, and the actress was able to return shortly. She also expressed sadness for members of her community who lost their homes and property in the disaster.

Jennie Garth Found Love Again

The “Beverly Hills 90210” star found love again about a year after her divorce from Facinelli was finalized. She met her current partner, Dave Abrams, on a blind double date in 2014, and three months later, he put a ring on her finger. The lovers then tied the knot officially on July 11, 2025, and began building a future together. A few years into their marriage, the lovers went through a rough patch, resulting in a brief separation, but came back together, determined to make things work.

They spent 10 months apart, and Abrams filed for divorce in April 2018 but later had the petition dismissed the following year. The separation helped to strengthen their bond and made Garth and Abrams realize they wanted to put in the work to “continuously” improve their connection as a couple. The lovebirds had to figure out certain things as individuals, which were initially pushed aside by their “rushed” relationship timeline.

“We both had separate learning to do, and then coming back and sharing that growth was kind of the fiber that connected us back together like, ‘I see you differently now,’” the actress told PEOPLE in an interview. Garth boasts of how great Abrams is as a husband, life partner, and stepfather to her daughters. The award-winning actress also noted that their marriage to him has taught her patience, love, understanding, and made her a better person overall.

HBO’s “Euphoria” returned with an emotional Season 3 premiere that paid tribute to late stars Angus Cloud and Eric Dane.

The show’s debut episode honored both actors during a star-studded premiere at the TCL Chinese Theatre, with creator Sam Levinson revealing that Cloud’s death forced him to scrap and rewrite the original script.

As fans celebrate the long-awaited return, reports of behind-the-scenes tension persist. Insiders claim lead star Zendaya had grown increasingly frustrated over prolonged delays ahead of the launch of the third season.

‘Euphoria’ Premiere Pays Tribute To Angus Cloud And Eric Dane

The highly anticipated third season of HBO’s hit series “Euphoria” finally premiered on Sunday, April 12, much to the delight of fans worldwide.

The celebration carried an emotional weight, however, as the show took a poignant moment to honor Cloud and Dane, as well as executive producer Kevin Turen.

According to Rolling Stone, the episode opened with a solemn title card featuring Dane’s image alongside the words, “In remembrance of Eric Dane.” The tribute continued at the end of the premiere with an “In Memoriam” screen that recognized Cloud and Turen.

Cloud died from an accidental drug overdose in July 2023 at the age of 25, while Dane passed away in February at the age of 53 after he was diagnosed with ALS.

Although Dane did not appear in the Season 3 premiere, he is set to feature later in the eight-episode run, thanks to a last-minute effort by Levinson.

Levinson revealed that the “Grey’s Anatomy” alum personally called him ahead of filming to share his ALS diagnosis, prompting the team to quickly adjust production and shoot his scenes in a single day.

The show writer revealed that Dane showed up ready to perform, even as symptoms began to surface.

“I could tell he had a slight slur in his voice,” Levinson said, according to Extra. “I said, ‘Don’t worry. We’ll just put, like, five beer bottles in front of you and you’ve been drinking all night.”

Angus Cloud Was Supposed To Play A Bigger Role

Cloud does not appear at all in Season 3, although his presence is still deeply felt across the new installment. The actor passed away long before filming began in 2025, forcing a total rethink of the storyline from Levinson.

Speaking during the premiere, the director became emotional as he reflected on their bond.

“When Angus died, it was tough. I loved him deeply, and I fought hard to keep him clean,” he admitted.

Levinson had originally written Cloud’s character, Fezco, into a major arc for the season. However, following the tragic loss, he said he had to scrap the scripts entirely and start over.

While “Euphoria’s” return has fans buzzing, reports suggest tensions may still be lingering behind the scenes, particularly involving Levinson and lead star Zendaya.

Several signs at the premiere raised eyebrows. Cast members, including Sydney Sweeney, Alexa Demie, and Jacob Elordi, did not join the series creator on stage. The stars also skipped traditional red-carpet moments, opting out of interviews and group photos. Zendaya herself arrived late and reportedly missed the afterparty at the Chateau Marmont.

Fans further speculated about behind-the-scenes friction after noticing “Dune” star was not credited as an executive producer this season, despite holding the role in previous installments.

Levinson Explains What Delayed Season 3

Levinson has shed more light on why “Euphoria’s” third season took so long to arrive, pointing to a mix of industry setbacks and deeply personal circumstances.

Speaking at the premiere, he said, “The fact that we’re actually here and we’re able to pull this season off. That’s nothing short of a miracle.”

He also cited the impact of Hollywood strikes and the challenge of coordinating a cast whose schedules have become increasingly packed, according to Vanity Fair.

“There were obvious factors, Levinson said. “The strikes, trying to make a schedule work with our very in-demand cast, but the real time was in trying to figure out how to find a way to pay respect to those who we lost.”

Beyond that, Levinson was also tied up working on HBO’s “The Idol,” which stars The Weeknd and Lily-Rose Depp.
