WAFU-B Workshop to strengthen Women’s Football in West Africa
The West African Football Union Zone B Women’s Football Administrators Workshop is currently underway in Abuja. This workshop brings together officials from across the region.
The three-day event, supported by the Confederation of African Football, began on April 26 and will continue through April 28.
The workshop focuses on improving how the women’s game is managed and organised across WAFU-B nations. Discussions will be centred on sharing ideas, how to strengthen administrative structures, and practical ways to grow the sport.

The meeting also allows participating countries to align their plans and work more closely together, with the aim of developing women’s football across the region in a more coordinated way.
Participants are expected to give a clear action plan before the workshop concludes on April 28, which should outline steps to be followed after the event.
NEW DELHI: The 18-year wait was finally over, and when it ended, emotions overflowed across every Royal Challengers Bengaluru player, especially Virat Kohli, who has been with the franchise since the inception of the league back in 2008. Tears of joy, kissing the trophy, holding it high with pride, and continuous celebrations marked the scenes as RCB lifted their historic IPL 2025 title.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru won their first-ever IPL title after 18 years, defeating Punjab Kings by six runs in the final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
RCB all-rounder Krunal Pandya reflected on the title win, calling it one of the most emotional moments of his career and dedicating the triumph to the fans and former skipper Kohli.
Speaking on JioStar’s “The Krunal Pandya Experience”, the all-rounder said the long-awaited trophy meant the most to Kohli, who struggled to hold back his emotions after the win.

“The ones who deserved it the most are Virat Kohli and the RCB fans. Virat has been an integral part of RCB from the first season. So, to win it and see him get emotional was special. Watching him cry was an emotional moment for everyone,” Krunal said.
“The love people have for RCB is incredible. That day, I said on the mic that whatever happens, we must win the trophy for the fans,” he added.
Krunal said fulfilling that promise after 18 years of waiting made the victory even more meaningful.
“I am glad I said it and that we were able to deliver in the final. The fans deserved this trophy more than anybody else, and obviously, Virat as well,” he said.

“Playing for the country is number one for me, but winning for RCB after 18 years and having my best season while contributing well has to be one of my top moments,” Krunal said.
Krunal also spoke about his evolution as a cricketer over the years.
“I have changed over a period of time, for the better. As you go through the journey, you learn. A lot of credit goes to my parents and the upbringing they gave me. But as a human being, who I am, has remained the same. I love cricket, still as excited and passionate to play. I have always been a family man. I love my family, kids, and my wife, who has played an integral part,” the RCB all-rounder said.
Pandya, who was bought by RCB for Rs 5.75 crore at the IPL 2025 Mega Auction in Jeddah, was retained by RCB for the 2026 IPL season.

In IPL 2026, RCB are currently placed second on the points table with 10 points.
If you enjoy RuneScape: Dragonwilds or RuneScape in general, Winds of Valen is going to be right up your alley. There’s not much to do in terms of quests or storyline progression, but you can fish, mine, and craft to your heart’s content. It’s very simple to grasp, and the community is rather helpful.
That being said, here are a few beginner tips and tricks you can use to get started on the best foot in Winds of Valen.
5 beginner tips and tricks to get you started in Winds of Valen
Mine Tin and Copper to craft basic weapons and armor (sell for Coins)

As you start your run in Winds of Valen, the first thing you’ll want to do is mine Tin and Copper. While this is not Minecraft (and you may not yearn for the mines), this is the best way to get basic armor and Coins. The Tin and Copper that you mine can be smelted in a 1:1 ratio to create Bronze Bars, which can be sold for Coins.

I would suggest you focus on Mining and Smithing for a while, as it’s the best way to get Coins without having to do too much work. Fishing and Potion Making are also great ways to get Coins, but the overall process is too long-winded. As you level up, getting Mining will become faster, which in turn will allow you to have more resources to work with and sell the finished product.
Sell anything you can’t use yet (including Power Gems)

In Winds of Valen, the name of the game is resource collecting and leveling up. To that end, by the time you get your bearings, you’ll have more resources than you’ll know what to do with. After you craft what you need, you have two options: use the Bank to store things or sell for profit.
Use Coins to buy what you need (Image via SK Gaming | Fiery Dog Games)
In my experience, selling is often better, as some of the best gear can be bought using Coins. Given that you’ll have to venture far and wide to get resources to craft better gear, being able to buy them without leaving the starting area is the best option available to you.
Use the Green Lantern at the center of the village to heal

If you need to heal quickly, you have two options: Potions (which cost Coin) or interacting with the Green Lantern at the center of the village. This is a good option for when you’re just starting and don’t have Coins to buy Potions that heal you. Also, given that crafting Potions takes a long time, using this is faster, at least during the opening hours of the game.
Change Training Stance to level different skills

What’s interesting about combat in Winds of Valen is that you’ll need to change Training Stance to level up certain skills. For instance, if you’re using melee weapons, you’ll need to change between Offensive (trains Attack) and Defensive (trains Defence). I’m still not sure how they affect combat (passively), but I’m seeing higher damage output and taking damage less often.
Defeat Goblin Beserker to get Goblin Axe

At the start of your adventures, you’ll have access to conventional weapons (Swords, Bows, and Wands). If you enjoy going in close for the kill (and care not about blocking attacks), the Goblin Axe is perfect for you.
Each swing deals devastating damage to enemies, but you’ll have to earn it first by defeating the Goblin Berserker. I would recommend you attack it when others are in the fray. You will not be able to solo this beast.
Bangladesh beat New Zealand by 6 wickets (Pic credit: BCB)
Towhid Hridoy produced a sensational unbeaten half-century to guide Bangladesh to a commanding six-wicket win over New Zealand in the opening T20I on Monday. Chasing a stiff target of 183, Bangladesh found themselves in early trouble at 77 for three in the 11th over, with New Zealand’s bowlers firmly in control. However, Hridoy’s calculated aggression turned the game on its head as he finished on a match-winning 51 not out off just 27 balls, laced with two fours and three sixes. He first stitched together a crucial 57-run stand with Parvez Hossain, who chipped in with a brisk 28 off 14 deliveries, before adding an unbeaten 49-run partnership with Shamim Hossain. Shamim provided the finishing flourish with a quickfire 31 not out off 13 balls as Bangladesh raced to 183 for four with two overs to spare, sealing an emphatic start to the series.New Zealand’s strong total goes in vainEarlier, New Zealand posted a competitive 182 for six after opting to bat, riding on impressive half-centuries from Dane Cleaver and Katene Clarke, both of whom scored 51. The duo shared a solid 88-run partnership for the second wicket after Tim Robinson was run out for a duck early on. At that stage, the visitors looked set for an even bigger total on a good batting surface. However, Bangladesh clawed their way back through leg-spinner Rishad Hossain, who struck twice in quick succession to remove both set batters and halt the momentum. The pace trio of Shoriful Islam, Tanzim Hasan Sakib and debutant Ripon Mondol, after an initially wayward start, tightened their lines and lengths effectively. Tanzim’s wicket of Bevin Jacobs further dented New Zealand’s progress.Stand-in skipper Nick Kelly tried to steady the innings before a brief interruption due to bad light, while Josh Clarkson’s unbeaten 27 off 14 balls provided late impetus to push the total past 180.Despite a promising start with the ball, highlighted by Ish Sodhi’s 2 for 40, New Zealand failed to contain Bangladesh’s middle-order surge. The three-match series now moves to Chattogram on Wednesday, with Bangladesh holding a 1-0 lead.
Anthony Joshua‘s next opponent has been revealed ahead of his planned battle with Tyson Fury later in the year.
Joshua and Fury have been on a collision course for nearly a decade, and it appeared as if their fight would finally be confirmed after ‘The Gypsy King’ defeated Arslanbek Makhmudov at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London earlier this month.
A back and forth with Joshua then commenced, but ‘AJ’ stood firm as his team insisted that a warm-up fight would likely come next before the clash with Fury.

Joshua last fought in December when he defeated YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul, but prior to that his last bout against a legitimate opponent was in September 2024, when he was knocked out by Daniel Dubois in their IBF heavyweight title fight.
‘AJ’ was also involved in a tragic car crash just a few weeks after the match-up with Paul which sadly took the lives of his two close friends, and so it is clear why he preferred a warm-up bout next in order to best prepare for Fury.
The opponent for that warm-up has now been confirmed, after it was announced that Joshua will take on the relatively unknown Kristian Prenga on July 25 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
THE COMEBACK 👊@anthonyjoshua fights Kristian Prenga (20-1, 20 KOs) on July 25 in Riyadh!
Prenga has a 100% knockout record, with all 20 of his victories coming inside the distance, but the type of opposition he has taken on throughout his career is levels below that of Joshua.
He suffered a defeat in his fifth professional contest in 2017 to 1-2 opponent Giovanni Auriemma, but he has won all 16 of his fights since then, the most recent of those coming in February when he knocked out 16-14-1 opponent Joe Jones inside the first round.
Xia Brookside certainly has made an impact on Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) over the last few weeks.
As Brookside climbs the ladder to get back into the TNA Knockouts World Championship, she appeared to make an enemy along the way. Brookside helped Arianna Grace retain the title over Lei Ying Lee at Rebellion when she put Grace’s foot on the rope to break up the pin attempt.

Brookside was far from finished with Lee. Last week, Lee wanted answers from Brookside. The English wrestler gave Lee a hug in the middle of the ring, but assaulted her. Their feud is heating up.
Outside of the ring, Brookside revealed on Sunday she was starting “a new chapter.” She posted a video of herself getting baptized.
“Something I’ve been considering for a very long time, after getting consistent in going to church weekly, reading daily and the incredible support from my man, it felt like the easiest decision I’ve ever made,” she wrote on X. “Thank you to everyone that came to support me.”

Brookside, whose real name is Xia-Louise Brooks, is the daughter of retired pro wrestling star Robbie Brookside. He currently works as a trainer and producer for WWE NXT.
She started her pro wrestling career in the United Kingdom and worked her way through the independent scene, eventually joining WWE in 2018. She was featured in WWE NXT UK before she joined Stardom in Japan and eventually TNA.
She’s held championships in International Pro Wrestling United Kingdom and Rise Wrestling during her career. She was also ranked No. 91 on Pro Wrestling Illustrated’s list of top women’s wrestlers in 2019.

Adrian Bott harbours hopes for Black Type success in Moscatel’s two-year-old season despite her absence from Sydney Autumn Carnival’s juvenile stars, following her striking Monday debut triumph.
The costly filly by Snitzel powered to success in Kensington’s $65,000 Kia Ora Bloodlines To Headlines 2YO Handicap over 1100m.
About a week post the Carnival’s Sydney exit, her 4-1/2 length margin prompted Bott to scout standalone regional races or northern options, as the half-sister to Group 2 Percy Sykes Stakes winner Eneeza.
“There is a two-year-old fillies race at Scone that she might be well-suited to, the Listed Woodlands Sakes,” Bott said.

“That’s the reason we wanted to be here today and that should give her enough time to get through to a race like that or, if not, we could look through to Queensland.”
The Listed Woodlands Stakes (1100m), worth $200,000, headlines the second day of Scone’s carnival on Saturday May 16.
Tim Clark partnered Moscatel to a debut display befitting a Stakes horse.

From a sharp start, the $3 favourite pressed forward comfortably, exploded away early straight, and dominated Sing Your Song ($12) by daylight, the latter holding second by three-quarters-of-a-length from Quarterback ($14).
“I thought I was the winner about three strides after the start, it was pretty much race over once she began like she did,” Clark said.
Moscatel, by Group 2 winner Sweet Sherry, was acquired for $1.6 million last year at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale by Adrian Bott, Gai Waterhouse and Resolute Racing’s John Stewart.
The trainer had eyed a pre-Golden Slipper outing initially, but extra development time has proven beneficial for Moscatel.

“We bought her as a nice precocious type, but she’s just needed that little bit of time and we’ve always been happy to be patient with her, there’s been absolutely no rush,” he said.
“So she’s got herself here on her own merits today and I’m sure there’s a lot of upside off the back of today.”

Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua have officially signed to fight one another in a heavyweight clash 10 years in the making, as combat sports fans finally get the bout they’ve been dreaming of

Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua have signed to fight each other in a highly-anticipated grudge match 10 years in the making. Saudi Arabian boxing executive, Turki Alalsheikh announced the fight on social media, although there is yet to be confirmation from either camp.
He wrote: “To my friends in Great Britain – it’s happening. It’s signed.”
Joshua will first have a warn-up fight in July, although an opponent is yet to be announced for that bout. Fury, meanwhile, returned to the squared-circle earlier this month to claim a unanimous decision win over Arslanbek Makhmudov after 12 gruelling rounds.
In the aftermath of that fight, which landed at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with Joshua in attendance, Fury revealed that he had already signed to face his long-time rival. However, Joshua was apprehensive to respond to Fury’s gauntlet on the night, teasing the Gypsy King for his antics.

Fury said: “Thank you everyone for coming out tonight. I really appreciate every single one of you guys. 16 months out and we fill up Tottenham again. But like I said, let me get Arslanbek Makhmudov out the way and we’ll talk next.
“Next I want to give you the fight you’ve all been waiting for. I want you, AJ. Anthony Joshua.”
He added: “Let’s give the fight fans what they want. Here’s my challenge. I challenge you Anthony Joshua, to fight me, Tyson Fury, the Gypsy King, NEXT! Do you accept my challenge? Let him say yes or no now. Come on you big s***house, are you going to fight or not?”
Opting to remain in his seat following a tense staring contest, Joshua poured cold water on the idea of a fight. He replied: “Tyson you’re a clout chaser. I’ve never had no problem getting in the ring with you.
“I punched you up when we were kids. And after watching you here tonight, I’ll punch you up again. With all due respect, tonight is your night and you know I’ll sit across that ring from you in due time.
“You ain’t going to tell me what to do. I’ve been chasing you for the last 10 years. When you’re ready, you come and see me and tell me your terms and conditions and I’ll have you in the ring when I’m ready.
“I’m the boss. You work for me. I’m the landlord, remember that, you work for me.”
Now, however, it appears as though AJ has changed his tune, with the two potentially meeting in the ring at the end of the year. Should Joshua avoid any serious injury in his warm-up bout, a fight night in November could be on the cards.

Danhausen’s popularity in WWE skyrocketed over the course of just a few weeks.
He made his debut at the Elimination Chamber, stepping out of the mystery box that left Raw general manager Adam Pearce and SmackDown general manager Nick Aldis befuddled for weeks. While his character didn’t exactly resonate with fans at first, he became uber popular as he “cursed” several of his pro wrestling colleagues.

WWE Hall of Famer Booker T said he believed Danhausen would work no matter what.
“When Danhausen came in, everybody crapped on him,” he recalled in an interview with Fox News Digital. “Everybody was like, ‘Man, what the heck is going on? This is not gonna work.’ Everybody except me. I’m literally the minority in this whole thing. I said, look guys, I don’t know what everybody is thinking about but when you take wrestlers and characters like Danhausen out of the wrestling business, you lose sight on what the wrestling business truly is.

“We need the George ‘The Animal’ Steeles of this business. We need those characters that’s going to come out and bring the levity down and just make you feel a certain way and just fun for you. And I said this guy is going to be a merchandizing, you know, a marketing machine. And he’s proved to be everything that I said he was gonna be. So, for me, I love the Danhausen character being a part of WWE. I said, if I never did the spina-rooni, what would my career have been? If The Rock never did the People’s Elbow, where would have careers have gone without that? So, for me, I love having Danhausen as a part of WWE.”

Danhausen has been featured on Raw and SmackDown since his debut with the company, but his feud with The Miz turned up a notch as he ruined The Miz’s WrestleMania moment and defeated him in a match on SmackDown.
A humanoid robot has been declared champion at a half-marathon running race held in Beijing, China, on Sunday, far outpacing human participants and beating the world record.
The autonomously navigated robot Shandian was presented with the laurels after a remote-controlled robot, Lightning, who technically finished first, was denied the prize under the event’s weighted scoring rules.
Big robotic improvement
Shandian completed the 21-kilometer (around 13-mile) course in Beijing’s Yizhuang district with a time of 50:26, while Lightning achieved a time of 48:19.
Both times were faster than the human record for the distance set by Uganda’s Jacob Kiplimo, who ran a time of 57:20 at the Lisbon Half Marathon in March.
For the race, thousands of human contenders joined robots from 100 companies and research institutions, with barriers separating the robots’ running track from that of the humans.
China’s robotic legs enter everyday life
China at the forefront in robotic development
The course included more than 10 types of terrain, including flat roads, slopes, curves and narrow sections, to test the robots’ capabilities.

A robot also served as a traffic officer, directing the participants with arm gestures and voice, state broadcaster CCTV said.
Not all robots managed to cope, with one falling flat at the starting line and another colliding with a barrier.
Beijing E-Town said about 40% of the robots navigated the course autonomously, while the others were remotely controlled.
China is seeking to become the global leader in the robotics industry and has put in place subsidies and infrastructure projects to boost local firms.
