Liverpool headed into the international break unbeaten in all competitions, but Andoni Iraola has plenty to ponder before club football returns

Liverpool’s start to the season has been far from perfect. But Andoni Iraola’s side have not lost a match yet with seven games played.

The Reds had hoped to put last campaign’s dismal title defence behind them and have been getting positive results to begin this term. As well as victories in both the Carabao Cup and Champions League, Liverpool have drawn three of their opening league matches and won two, their latest game a 1-0 triumph away at Iraola’s old team, Bournemouth.

Iraola’s side are next in action against Manchester City on October 11, just under three weeks away. But that hasn’t stopped bombshells from dropping. Real Madrid and France superstar Kylian Mbappe has confirmed he was close to joining Liverpool as a youngster.

He revealed his side of the story of meeting with former boss Jurgen Klopp on a private jet. Mirror Football brings you all the latest updates out of Anfield, including new manager Iraola’s detailed striker plans.

Kylian Mbappe’s nearly moment

Mbappe is one of European football’s most recognisable names. He’s a World Cup winner with France and leads Real Madrid’s line. His exploits for Paris Saint-Germain were mind-blowing and included 256 goals in 308 appearances and six Ligue 1 titles. But before he even joined Les Parisiens, Mbappe admits he held talks with Liverpool and his mother even preferred a move to Merseyside.

“It was while I was playing in Monaco,” Mbappe told The Athletic, recalling events from 2017. “I had to make a decision. And yes, I was close to Liverpool. My mum was a big fan of Jurgen Klopp and the favourite destination for my mum was Liverpool. She wanted me to go there.

“I didn’t listen because I wanted to play in my city, Paris. I didn’t want to leave my country before I was someone. But yes, my mum was always saying, ‘Liverpool – you’re going to be there, playing at Anfield, it’s going to be insane for you.’ I was like, ‘OK!’

“She went there. She went to the city, to the stadium and met the people. She was like, ‘It’s a wonderful club, everybody’s so kind, it’s a family club, a big club.’ She went to Anfield and fell in love with it. She watched a few games alone, to feel the atmosphere, because she wanted to imagine me in this stadium.

“All the time we were talking. ‘What do you think, Mum?’ She’d say, ‘For me, you have to go to Liverpool.’ I said, ‘OK, OK, OK!’ because Jurgen Klopp was an amazing manager. I met him and had a wonderful relationship with him. I had big respect for him.”

Yet Mbappe ultimately wanted to establish himself in his home country before heading abroad, and he instead swapped Monaco for PSG on an initial loan deal with a whopping £154million mandatory purchase option. The rest, as they say, is history.

Andoni Iraola’s striker plan

The Reds did end up signing a superstar striker eight years later, welcoming Alexander Isak to the club from Newcastle United for a record £125m. Iraola is supposedly planning to use the 27-year-old in a specific way and wants him to adapt his game.

According to the Daily Mail, Iraola wants more from Isak and is even showing him videos of youngster Lewis Koumas in an attempt to improve his off-the-ball running and efforts defending.

Iraola wishes for the Swedish striker to help suffocate teams as his Bournemouth side did. He wants Isak to lead the press with more intent and see more of the ball, working alongside Florian Wirtz.

The manager plans to use both Isak and Koumas, too, with his ideal set-up being him replacing two of his forward players around the hour mark, in the hope that they have exerted themselves to a great degree.

Last year marked 250 years of Jane Austen, one of the world’s best-known authors. Her enduring appeal is reflected in the myriad celebrations that took place to honour this anniversary, including exhibitions, festivals and a special six-part podcast series from The Conversation.

Austen at 250 cemented her global status as one of the most-loved literary figures of all time. But what about the other commercially successful female novelists who wrote alongside Austen, yet are barely remembered today?

Scottish authors Susan Ferrier and Mary Brunton offer two such examples. Although relatively modest in their output, their novels – and in particular their first novels, titled Marriage and Self-Control respectively – were popular and widely read in their own historical moment. As their names suggest, these were works concerned with propriety and expectation, but they were also experimental in their own ways.

Recent plot points in Netflix’s Bridgerton anticipate a growing cultural interest in Regency-era Scotland. With a fifth season officially in production, and Scottish scenery foregrounded in the most recent trailer (below), it is timely to consider Austen’s Scottish female contemporaries.

Regency Scotland

So far, Bridgerton has painted a picture of Scotland as a remote country, far removed from the bustle and excitement of the Ton. As Eloise Bridgerton recounts upon her return from the Kilmartin Estate:

Pen, there may not have been enough people in Scotland, but time spent amidst so much astounding natural beauty did give me considerable time to reflect, and what I realise is that there is no need for me to antagonise suitors or debutantes.

No mention has yet been made, however, of Scotland’s capital Edinburgh, which was the epicentre of literary culture in Regency-era Britain, with a prolific and internationally renowned publishing scene. As the academic Ian Duncan puts it, Edinburgh was, during these years, “a literary metropolis to rival London”.

This was due largely to Walter Scott’s bestselling historical Waverley novels, which popularised Scotland as a tourist destination and prompted a craze for Scottish novels, to which Brunton and Ferrier contributed.

Susan Ferrier

Ferrier was born in Edinburgh in 1782 and lived there until her death in 1854. She came from a relatively wealthy family and was close friends with Scott, to whom she dedicated her final novel. Her proximity to Edinburgh’s social and literary circles is reflected in the lively (and, to some, familiar) characters who inhabit her novels.

Ferrier is often pitched as Scotland’s Jane Austen – a comparison that began during the 19th century and has persisted since. Like Austen, Ferrier’s novels were originally published anonymously, and when Marriage appeared in 1818, one reviewer eager to know the author’s identity wrote that ‘had the authoress of “Pride and Prejudice” been alive, and a native of Scotland, our conjectures would certainly have fastened upon her as the authoress’. In 1878, Ferrier was commended for having achieved for Scotland “what Jane Austen and Maria Edgeworth have respectively done for England and Ireland”.

This comparison is both a blessing and a curse – on one hand, it allows readers to relate to Ferrier quickly; on the other, it has led to a sustained underestimation of her novels.

That said, it is worth noting that Ferrier did not help matters by modelling the opening line of her second novel on Austen’s more famous precedent: “It is a truth universally acknowledged, that there is no passion so deeply rooted in human nature as that of pride” – in which the reference to pride is no doubt uncoincidental.

Ferrier wrote three novels, with the first appearing one year after Austen’s death: Marriage (1818), The Inheritance (1824), and Destiny (1831). Like Austen, she wrote about contemporary life, focusing on women’s experiences of love and education.

Ferrier’s novels offer readers moral lessons, but they are also extremely funny. Frequently reflecting on the differences between Scotland and England, Ferrier makes fun of both, satirising what each thought of the other before showing how this was often misleading.

Mary Brunton

Brunton was born on Orkney in 1778. She eventually settled in Edinburgh, where she died aged 40 from postpartum complications in 1818. Like Ferrier, Brunton wrote three novels: Self-Control (1811), Discipline (1814), and Emmeline, which was unfinished and published posthumously in 1819.

Also like Ferrier, Brunton’s works focus on the daily lives and lessons of their heroines, as well as Scottish national identity. Their titles imply a conservative tone, but Brunton’s novels openly navigate issues including sexual harassment, divorce and suicide.

Austen was familiar with Brunton’s novels and famously described Self-Control in a letter to her sister as “excellently meant” and “elegantly-written” but “without anything of Nature or Probability in it”. That Austen was re-reading Self-Control when she wrote this indicates, however, her esteem for the novel – even against her better judgment.

The public’s opinion was also clear. As the academic Anthony Mandal notes: “When Self-Control appeared in the spring of 1811, six months before Austen’s Sense and Sensibility, it was Brunton’s first novel that was the sensation of the year, an overnight bestseller, and not Austen’s” – a feat that is aptly reflected in the reference to Self-Control in ITV’s 2019 adaptation of Austen’s Sanditon.

Constructing a canon

Between 1832 and 1841, all three women’s works were reprinted in the London-based publisher Richard Bentley’s canon-making series of Standard Novels. This was the first time that Austen’s novels had been republished since her death in 1817, catalysing her rise to become one of Britain’s most popular novelists, but it was Brunton’s novels that appeared first in the series as volumes 15 and 16 respectively.

Literary anniversaries create a sense of community and shared heritage. But they also create opportunities to reflect on forgotten authors who were significant in their own time.

Brunton and Ferrier are not well-known today, but they did outsell, inspire, and benefit from Austen. They thus remind us of the value and importance of reading beyond the canon – something that will no doubt reward Bridgerton fans next year.

The first time Harvey Weinstein was sentenced to prison, reporters, advocates and the curious public crammed the courtroom to witness the disgraced Hollywood honcho’s #MeToo reckoning.

Hours later, the world began shutting down as the COVID-19 pandemic raged. Now, after an overturned conviction and two retrials, Weinstein is set to be sentenced again on Wednesday for one of the same crimes — more than six years after his first sentencing in March 2020.

Weinstein, 74, faces up to 25 years in prison for sexually assaulting a one-time TV production assistant, Miriam Haley, at his Manhattan apartment in 2006. He has already served more than six years as his case has cycled again and again through the criminal justice system. Haley gave her account of the assault at two trials.

“The unthinkable was happening,” Haley testified last year, dabbing her eyes.

Haley, who has also gone by the name Mimi Haleyi, is planning to speak at Weinstein’s sentencing, her lawyer, Gloria Allred, said. Weinstein will also address the court, his spokesperson, Juda Engelmayer, said.

The Oscar-winning “Pulp Fiction” and “Shakespeare in Love” producer was originally sentenced to 23 years in prison after a jury convicted him of assaulting Haley and raping an aspiring actress, Jessica Mann, in 2013.

But New York’s highest court erased those guilty verdicts in 2024, ruling that Weinstein was prejudiced by testimony from other women whose allegations weren’t part of the case.

Tried for a second time last year, Weinstein was again convicted of first-degree criminal sex act for assaulting Haley. In a messy split verdict, the jury acquitted him of forcibly performing oral sex on another woman, Kaja Sokola, and could not reach a verdict on a rape charge involving Mann.

After another retrial ended in a hung jury in May, Manhattan prosecutors dropped the rape charge rather than pursue a fourth trial after Mann said she could not bear to testify again.

That decision cleared the way for Weinstein’s sentencing.

Manhattan prosecutors have said they will ask for 20 years in prison — which would keep him behind bars until at least his late 80s.

Weinstein’s lawyers haven’t said what sentence they’ll seek. He denies raping or sexually assaulting anyone. Once he’s sentenced, he can appeal.

“I will be proven innocent. That I promise you,” Weinstein told The Hollywood Reporter in a jailhouse interview in March.

Weinstein is also awaiting resentencing in a separate rape case in Los Angeles. A California appeals court upheld the 2022 conviction but threw out his original 16-year sentence because the judge had considered his New York convictions that were later thrown out as an aggravating factor.

After shuffling between state prison, where he tested positive for COVID-19 early in the pandemic, and New York City’s notorious Rikers Island complex, the ailing Weinstein is now housed at a medical unit for jail inmates at Bellevue Hospital in Manhattan.

His health issues in recent years have included chronic myeloid leukemia, diabetes and walking difficulties that necessitate a wheelchair to get in and out of court, his lawyers said. Two years ago, he underwent emergency surgery to remove fluid on his heart and lungs.

Haley, 49, is a former entertainment producer now working in advertising.

Born in Finland and raised in Sweden, she said she met Weinstein through a mutual connection and worked briefly as a production assistant on a reality competition show that he produced, “Project Runway.”

Haley said she accepted an invitation to visit Weinstein’s Manhattan apartment because it would have been odd to decline since she was scheduled to fly to Los Angeles the next day on his company’s dime to attend a film premiere.

After she and Weinstein briefly chatted on his living room sofa, he lunged to kiss her, she testified. She said she leaped up and rebuffed him, but he grabbed her, forcibly backed her into a bedroom and sexually assaulted her, ignoring her pleas to stop.

She recalled Weinstein asking, “Don’t you think we’re much closer now?” after either the alleged assault or a subsequent occasion when she says she had unwanted, but not forced, sex with him.

She also recalled telling him after the second encounter, “You know you can’t keep doing this.”

The Associated Press does not typically identify people who say they are victims of sexual assault unless they grant permission, which Haley, Sokola and Mann have done.

Dozens of migrants who spent more than 30 hours at sea have been taken to Dover by water, the Conservative MP for Gosport has said.

It comes after an earlier report that the boat would be brought to Gosport, prompting a gathering of protesters in the Hampshire town.

The boat had left the Normandy coast on Monday morning. The French coastguard, who had shadowed the vessel, said about 60 migrants on the boat were in “precarious conditions” and refused help as they were “determined to take all risks to reach” the UK.

British rescue boats were sent to collect the migrants on Tuesday, with the UK’s Maritime and Coastguard Agency saying they would be transferred to Border Security Command.

The French coastguard said migrants were on the boat for more than 33 hours. The Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) said it was tasked by HM Coastguard with assisting just after 11:00 BST on Tuesday, when the crossing had been under way for 36 hours.

The coastguard asked the RNLI to remove people from the dinghy “out of concern for their safety and their deteriorating health” before Border Force vessels arrived on the scene, the lifeboat service said.

The Home Office initially said it was becoming “increasingly likely” the migrants would be taken to the Portsmouth area and acknowledged it would be “far from ideal”, in a message shared by Caroline Dinenage, Conservative MP for Gosport.

They said any decision to bring a vessel ashore there would only be taken “where operationally necessary and following careful consideration of all available options”.

Hundreds of protesters as well as police gathered near the marina in the Hampshire town on Tuesday evening after the initial reports.

A number of men wearing black, several with face coverings, were at the front of the protesters. Some in the crowd were chanting “send them back”.

Daniel Thomas, known as Danny Tommo, shared a YouTube livestream of the boat from the Channel.

Thomas – a long-term campaigner against migrants – organised recent protests in Portsmouth and Dover.

Around 19:00, Dame Caroline said she had been told that Border Force had intercepted the small boat and was taking those on board east to Dover by water.

In a post on social media, the MP said: “This is a good result. All day I have been making the case to the Home Office that this boat should not disembark in Gosport.”

At about 20:30, the demonstrators left the Gosport protest. Later, Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary said six people had been arrested in Gosport on Tuesday evening after protesters “became hostile towards officers”.

The government said: “The Border Security Command works around the clock to protect our border and will continue to detain, check and process every small boat arrival.”

The migrant dinghy appeared to have set off from close to the village of Vierville-sur-Mer, west of Bayeux. It is rare to see small boat crossings depart from so far west.

Earlier this month, a dinghy which had launched from near Cherbourg in the Bay of the Seine – further west than boats normally depart – was brought ashore in Hampshire, triggering protests in Portsmouth.

Sienna Miller has revealed that she was pregnant while filming the entirety of new divorce drama War and was 35 weeks by the end of shooting.

The actress, 44, welcomed her third child in April with her partner Oli Green, 29, and they got engaged two months later. They also welcomed a child in January 2024.

Sienna also shares a 14-year-old daughter, Marlowe, with actor Tom Sturridge, who she dated for four years until July 2015.

While she was pregnant with her third child she was filming War which she stars in opposite Dominic West. The series follows the ugly story of their divorce. 

Sienna plays Carla Duval while Dominic, 56, takes on the character of her ex Morgan Henderson in the legal drama which follows two elite London law firms going head-to-head for victory.

In a new interview Sienna told how the shoot was tough due to her pregnancy and that it was long days of filming which saw her ‘leaving and coming home in the dark’.

She starred alongside Phoebe Fox in War, who was also pregnant during shooting. Her pregnancy was written into the plot however.

Sienna joked to the The Observer: ‘She got in first. We sat together scoffing Freddos in between shots.’

It comes after earlier this month Sienna said that she feels like a ‘lactating heifer’ and is struggling to dress her ‘massive boobs’ after being ‘pregnant or breastfeeding for nearly four years’.

In a candid interview, the mother-of-three joked that she was so tired that she ‘doesn’t know who she is’ any more as she juggles work and raising her brood.

She said: ‘I have completely lost my fashion sense. I’ve been pregnant or breastfeeding for nearly four years, and I think something happens to the brain – or you’re so f***ing tired – that you sacrifice your identity. 

‘You’re just ‘mother’… and not in the Gen-Z way, as much as I would like to be.’

‘I’m just really questioning all this, because I’m just so underslept and I kind of don’t know who I am. I also have massive boobs, which I don’t know how to dress. Anyway, this is far too much information…’. 

She also told Vogue that on the day of her interview with them she had been ‘up breastfeeding since the crack of dawn’, before adding: ‘I just feel like a kind of lactating heifer.’ 

Sienna also revealed that she often turns to model Alexa Chung – who is her ex Tom’s partner – for fashion advice, including what to wear for the recent Oasis: Don’t Look Back In Anger premiere.

In May, Sienna appeared on the Jimmy Fallon show in New York just three weeks after giving birth.

During her sit-down interview with the TV host she confessed that motherhood was exhausting at times.

Sienna said: ‘It feels like stringing sentences together is a bit challenging. 

‘I’m on very little sleep but I’m madly in love with my baby.

‘It’s crazy to be talking words and wearing a dress. What has happened from pajama gate.’

Asked by the host which of her children are tougher to look after, she said: ‘I would have said the teenage girl would be harder to juggle until the transatlantic flight I took yesterday with the toddler and the newborn.

‘The toddler now wins hands down. It was an absolute disaster. 

‘There’s no negotiating. I got to the immigration line and just broke down.’

Sienna also spoke about motherhood in a different interview with Vogue recently. 

She said: ‘I’d wanted another baby for so long that my postpartum was just bliss. I had thought, by the time I was 40, that it wouldn’t happen. 

‘That I’d have my one baby and I kind of made peace with it. It was such a surprise, and it was such a bonus that I was just euphoric. I felt existentially relieved.’

Wars often begin with a simple miscalculation. In 1914 the Kaiser assumed Britain would remain neutral if Germany invaded Belgium. He was wrong.

Prime Minister Herbert Asquith pledged Brussels the Empire’s ‘whole-hearted and unfailing support’ and led us into the Great War which killed three-quarters of a million Britons.

Over 100 years later, Vladimir Putin is on the brink of his own catastrophic miscalculation – one that could trigger Article 5 of the North Atlantic Treaty and tip Europe towards World War III.

Ever since Russia annexed Crimea in 2014, the continent has watched with dread as Putin has honed his expansionist ambitions. This gave way to panic among the bureaucrats when the Kremlin’s dreams of imperial glory led to the full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022.

But make no mistake, the Russian tanks will not stop at Kyiv. Indeed, a leaked Kremlin 2023 memo outlined plans for the annexation of Russian ally Belarus by 2030.

Vladimir Putin might be 73 years old but he still fancies himself as a dynamic wartime leader in the mould of Peter The Great or Ivan The Terrible.

Having watched the dictator for the past 30 years, I am in no doubt he hopes to echo the achievements of his predecessors by expanding the Russian borders further into Eastern Europe, with its strong Russian cultural heritage.

Putin, in other words, is now an old man in a hurry and I fear he is on the cusp of ordering a miscalculated escalation that could plunge Europe, as Churchill once said, into a new Dark Age.

Three things are happening that make me believe the Russian leader is preparing further military action that could inadvertently trigger Article 5 – the Nato clause that states that any attack on a member nation is an attack against the whole.

First, there is credible evidence Moscow is planning a significant further mobilisation of troops.

Last month, Ukraine’s President Zelensky warned Russia was planning a ‘rapid mobilisation’ of some 300,000 men by the end of the year. In the last week of August, at least 113,000 Russian citizens fled the country through the so-called Upper Lars checkpoint into Georgia, likely dodging this impending draft.

The Kremlin has meanwhile ordered Army generals to increase data collection on reservists, including their whereabouts and readiness to fight. A draft bill has also been proposed, fining Russian companies up to a million rubles (£9,000) for ‘failing to support the war effort’ or ‘impeding mobilisation’.

Second – and chillingly – last weekend, Russia’s Federal Security Service imposed restrictions on movement in two areas along the country’s border with Estonia, including a night-time curfew. They are also said to be fortifying the bank of the Narva River marking the border. This suggests preparations for a land invasion of this Nato state.

Estonia is a small country with a population of just over a million people and a mere 7,000 active military personnel. On top of that, much of it is Russian-speaking and its borderlands retain a strong Soviet nostalgia.

Yes, Estonia has been a part of Nato since 2004, but would its allies really go to war with Russia for it? Would the men of Nuremberg, Nantes or Nottingham risk their lives for the villagers of Vasknarva or Lutepaa?

Third, last week, close Russian ally Belarus launched a major four-day military exercise near its borders with Poland and Lithuania, including tank battalions. The drills took place near the strategically crucial 25-mile Suwalki Gap. Crossing Lithuanian and Polish territory, this is the shortest route between Belarus and the Russian exclave of Kaliningrad on the Baltic coast.

If Putin could seize the Gap, it would be disastrous for the Baltic States who –thereby cut off from the rest of the continent – would be sitting ducks for the Russian military machine.

On top of these Belarusian drills, earlier this month Moscow allegedly flew a drone across the Gap into Kaliningrad, in an apparent attempt to survey Nato air defences.

The direction of travel seems all too clear.

The question for Andy Burnham and other Nato leaders, then, is whether or not any of these actual or potential incursions meet the threshold for triggering Article 5. And, more to the point, whether Western Europe has the means to triumph in a clash with Moscow and its allies.

To his immense discredit, Donald Trump has long cosied up to the repulsive Putin. With the US President’s foolish war in the Middle East proving hard to stop, he is unlikely to embroil American troops in further escalations in Europe, especially for a perceived ‘minor’ incursion by Russia into the Baltics.

Knowing this, other European countries have signified their readiness to act. Last Friday, French President Macron held a successful cross-party summit to build consensus on a plan in the event of war between Europe and Russia.

Yet while France is also mobilising aggressively, Britain sits on its derriere.

Just three months ago, then-Defence Secretary John Healey resigned over failures to boost military spending to three per cent of GDP. Now promoted to Chancellor, Healey looks set to fall short of that mark again.

For Britain, the real challenge will not be boldly answering the call to Article 5 and coming to the aid of the Baltic states but rather if we have the capabilities to do anything to help them in the first place.

The Labour Government has talked tough on defence but failed miserably to put its words into action.

By the end of the Cold War the British Army had 153,000 regular soldiers. Today, we have fewer than half that.

Of course, a Russian attack on Nato could come in another more deniable form: cyber warfare, state-sponsored terrorism, a ‘false flag’ attack, lawfare or even spreading hostile disinformation intended to weaken European alliances.

In the short term, such hybrid escalations seem the most likely.

After all – and thank God –Putin knows he cannot currently sustain all-out war with Europe. Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has led to at least 1.4 million casualties on its own side, including almost half a million dead.

And while Putin, like Stalin before him, no doubt sees such a toll as a ‘statistic not a tragedy’, he surely calculates it will be easier to weaken Nato’s resolve first, then take what he wants.

There is already evidence he is succeeding in this.

A decisive victory for the hard-Right and grotesquely Russophile AfD party in east German local elections last week marked a major coup for Putin – and proved that western Europeans are not entirely united against the Kremlin.

Vladimir Putin is a risk taker. After four years’ stalemate in Ukraine, the ageing President is planning his next move. Only time will tell whether he could spark a conflagration that would soon engulf the continent.

A Lancashire Police spokesperson said: “On May 21 our officers arrested a 52-year-old man in Thornton-Cleveleys on suspicion of prostitution – keeping a brothel.

“He was later released on bail with conditions, pending further enquiries.”

According to a report by The Blackpool Lead, the man is a senior primary school teacher.

Neither the teacher nor the school involved can legally be named at this time.

The arrest is separate and unrelated to an earlier investigation involving a Blackpool teacher, who was arrested alongside a woman in March on suspicion of keeping a brothel and money laundering.

The 58-year-old man was released under investigation, while the 54-year-old woman was released on bail pending further enquiries.

Lancashire Police said enquiries into the May 21 arrest remain ongoing.

Jack Haven has shared an emotional plea for work as they struggle to qualify for Screen Actors Guild health insurance.

The 32-year-old actor first found fame in the Netflix drama Atypical, and more recently has worked with director Jane Schoenbrun in 2024’s I Saw the TV Glow and this year’s Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma.

In a video being shared on social media, Haven says they are in “a bit of an emergency situation.”

They continue: “I need to make $4,000 by the end of the month in order to qualify for SAG health insurance starting in January.”

Screen Actors Guild members are required to reach a specific threshold of covered earnings from union jobs within a certain period. Typically, the minimum earnings requirement is set at between $25,950 to $28,933 per year. Members may also be able to qualify if they hit a specified minimum number of credited work days.

In the video, Haven explains: “So, I guess what I’m asking is if you, or anyone you know, can hire me on a set or production and pay me $4,000, I will do, pretty much, any job.”

They add: “I can sing, I can dance, I can talk softly… loudly, I can do accents — British. So if you have a job, you can email me: wearescabproductions@gmail.com. Thank you, it would be very appreciated.”

On X, several fans tweeted in support of Haven. One wrote: “This is literally so insane, how are they looking for work rn?? Such a talented actor and they were JUST in Camp Miasma.”

Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma has earned strong reviews, and won the Queer Palm award at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.

Judge Judy Sheindlin has revealed why she refuses to watch herself on screen.

The veteran TV star, 83, is best known for her near 30-year run on her eponymous reality courtroom series, which ran for a whopping 25 seasons from 1996 to 2021.

But Judy, who is planning to retire next month, has now explained that she is not a fan of watching herself at work.

‘I did [watch] in the beginning,’ she told People in a new interview.

‘And then I realized that, in looking at myself, I was not only looking at the substance of what I was saying, but from a very surface position. 

‘I was looking how my face looked and how my neck looked and what my best angle was.’ 

‘I found that I would think about it if I watched it myself,’ the longtime TV fixture continued. 

‘I would think about it and say, “You know what? Don’t look up like that. Don’t look down like that. Your face doesn’t look good.”

‘And I didn’t want that to be part of the way I worked.’ 

Judy explained that she did not want her self-critique to ‘interfere with the process’ – and so, she simply stopped tuning in.

Earlier this month, the TV personality revealed what her future looked like after five years at the helm of Judy Justice.

She told People: ‘I have a lot of other things of interest.’ 

Judy added, ‘I don’t want to do hair and makeup anymore, but I still want my message to get out there.’

Her latest venture is now producing a small-claims court program featuring her son Adam Levy, 58, called Adam’s Law.

Sheindlin said that her son ‘has what it takes’ to pick up where she’s leaving off after her career on TV as his background includes work on the Prime Video series Tribunal Justice.

She added, ‘There aren’t a lot of people who can carry a half hour on their own unscripted.’

Levy, who is father to three children with spouse Lori Leichtman, is based out of Wyoming, and films his series in Stamford, Connecticut. 

He said that he is able to enjoy spending time with his mother during his trips to the East Coast.
